I'm in the process of sorting out all bold territories

I find it difficult to picture a scenario where this would in fact draw people into Argus. An 'evil', for the lack of a better word, government would not be an enticing factor for new players to enter into the area.
Also, this could be dropped onto the end of IW2 as an alternative that probably should happen.

Okay this is beginning to get a little muddled.
I originally wanted to make this RP as an Iraq-styled war that ended with the separation of territory to various sides. The RP would draw people in as it meant alliances could fight over their territories and conduct intel operations around other territories (much like East/West Germany). The government was an idea so that it would allow a reason for invasion. There could be other reasons for invasion.
I don't want it to connect with IW2 as; A. We have no idea when that ends and it is not looking to be ending any time soon, B. That would prioritise the alliances involved in IW2, while I wanted this to involve a lot of others.
The Wake Islands - that would be Polar's job then as I can't make an RP with someone else's territory, that isn't fair on them, and I want to create this RP with Van as I stated before.
Others have supported this idea, but this is meeting strong resistance and I'm not sure there's any point.Ainslie wrote:I meant to cater for this RP
He was the first to agree to this RP.

I can talk to Polar later about the wake islands and this if you'd like...

Noronica wrote:By what I said, I mean that there will be separate sides trying to gain control of territory. They may be working together publicly, but everyone wants a bigger piece of the pie. Also, some may support the existing government and want to control the territory with the existing government.
If the map is ever totally full, it means we have to expand the map. I'd like to avoid having to do that.Noronica wrote:Yet the map is never totally full, and this proposed RP would bring new players and old into this with it being a large international intervention.

It sounds like you're more asking for a Syria, than a Korea. Okay, I think I understand the concept a little better.

Verdon wrote:I seriously think you're overestimating the effort. Besides that most likely either me or Ostehaar will be contacted to create a more detailed map.
Verdon wrote:Yes, besides the fact that it would have to be written in to IW2, which I believe would be unnecessary work on Mik and Co.
Verdon wrote:This is a good idea. You shouldn't back down just because we're putting it through the wringer - this is an important part of RP planning, too.
Verdon wrote:...I just want to make sure you guys are understanding each other. I think Ainslie is saying that the Wake Islands could be a territory of this npc. Not that the npc consists only of the Wake Islands. Ainslie please correct if wrong.
Polar Svalbard wrote:I'm very much liking Verdon's idea of an area slightly off map for this. It could be quite interesting involving a bit of the Southern-hemisphere.
Either way though I do need someone to contest me in the Wake Isles. It was much more fun when Cottoria was here and a flair up could happen at any time. I don't think they'd be big enough for what you want though Noronica.

I think it must be an island and have no land borders, in order to contain the RP better, and to avoid a situation in which one side (the one invading through a land border) has a lot more to work with.

1 and 7 are probably a bit too remote.
6 works if you want to incorporate Wake Islands, but that will very much be a MSTO conflict as they've got it surrounded. (that might just be my bias, tho)
If you go with 5, you could blame much of its instability on me; Verdon would have very much wanted to meddle/puppet/annex something that close in the 1900s-30s provided that you're looking for some flavor history
2 and 3 are prime locations and I think they'd work very well
4 could be interesting. If you could get NE on it, you could have her illegally occupying southern borderlands. The Xrevaro border would also be an easy backdoor into the area that many would exploit covertly. I'm sure he'd be on board for that.
Dang I still like that south-of-map one though.

Noronica wrote:I, along with you and Ostehaar like 2 and 3. With 5, that could work as Noronica would have sought it for its empire, so that could lead to historical tensions. However, it is too north I feel.
Getting NE and Xrev in on an RP would be great, but I think it could be too small and land borders could be easier to use for invasion as Ostehaar mentioned. It's also too north again.
I think I like 2 as it allows for division, it is also central enough for anyone in the region to take part.

If you go with 2, make sure you get that tiny island off the west side - I'm losing my mind looking at it outside the red border.
