"Ah..." Baylee nodded as the pilot fairy explained what happened. Apparently, much to Baylee's relief, there was such thing as a naval attack. Instead, the fairy aircraft in mind had suffered a major mechanical failure while in the middle of a training exercise.
'That reminds me.' Baylee thought to herself with her lips partially inward - which combined with her leveled eyebrows - suggesting that she was pondering, 'Either we have some benighted workcrafters, pockmarkish gearware, or both. I reckon the other lasses know nothin' about this flycraft's fake step. Even if I do find the fellow in frain, I best linger unforthright if I can.'
Then, before pondering even further, Baylee felt a gust of wind picking up around her, which was not so much a problem aside from having to keep her skirt rigid (despite being in a squatting position); however, she quickly realise that the gust of wind was a danger to the fairy pilots before her. The two other fairy pilots seemed to handle the wind, but it was the pilot that still had their parachute and harness on themselves that got Baylee's concern to bear. The fairy pilot was obviously squealing to resist flying away for a second time; whom Baylee didn't want to have that occurring.
Instead of grabbing the fairy pilot itself, Baylee decided to tackle the source and grab the parachute upon the fairy pilot to prevent it from flapping any further. Grabbing the fairy pilot itself would only cause him/her to be entangled in a method of unintentional torture; a harness that would slowly crush the user the more the wind blew on the parachute. While Baylee was not like a carrier shipgirl or a cruiser shipgirl capable of launching her own spotter aircraft, Baylee knew that the fairy pilots were endanger of flying into the wind again if they stayed outside, so it was only fair that she held onto the pilot's parachute and allowing the fairy pilot to remove their harness and parachute.

She looked down to Rhi, smiling widely then looking back to the door. Once that was over with, she sighed with relief, slumping back in her seat. "I honestly haven't felt this stocked since I was transferred here. And that's saying something." For a ship that carries more fuel than Norway held in WW2, that truly was a big statement.

I laughed at that.
"Oh, yes, we truly are blessed!", I said, grinning and looking forward to dessert after breakfast as well. "Heavenly good food, dessert for breakfast, what else should one want?!"
One of my fairies, however, had different ideas and couldn't keep his mouth shut, whispering to me, that it was a bit like a Last Meal... my smile stayed, where it was, but if this was my Last Meal, then I'd enjoy it!

Either he'd fly off or have something else, something unpleasant happen to him - again, he didn't account for their first responder. Grabbing the chute instead of the pilot was exactly the right thing.
He dangled for a moment, looking up - he was getting too old for this, he thought, but then again, this was not a usual day for him. His crew cheered, as they saw, that their pilot was safe and, after a moment of catching his breath, began to untangle himself from the harness, dropping to the ground, rolling it off as he had practiced.
His crew hugged him, excited with joy and happy beyond words.
Then he turned to Baylee, smiling softly, requesting her to give him her hand - despite the difference in size, there was only one thing he could do, he thought, as he changed his headgear as well, looking like a poster-boy for flying fairies under his garrison cap. His two mates smiled, too, leaving talking and actions to their pilot.
He knew, what he had to do.

Though it was when Baylee bundled up the parachute that she noticed the fairy pilot getting her attention at the corner of her eyes.
'Hmm?' Baylee mentally said to herself as she saw the pilot gesturing her to give him a hand. She was careful not to change her positioning as she laid her hands in front of her with the palms facing up and together like a spade. "NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!" The at-the-top-of-her-lungs screaming Chrysantheme's fairies made shook the Naval Base, and their screams can be heard by nearly everyone there.
"Why!? Why isn't our ship listed in the 9PM patrol!?" Chrysantheme's fairies screamed. "Maybe because of your daylight duties?" Novaya asked. "Calm down, you guys." Novaya's fairy Admiral said as he hopped onto Chrysantheme's head and approached the fairy Captain and her crew. "It's not like it's the end of the world. Every morning it was the same routine although the ever changing menu made it hard for them to properly sleep, and even during lunch time they still had no breaks. As they wanted to take a sip of water, they heard someone scream out as Himiko pulled out a pan from her rigging while Himito took out a solid block of Youkan. They realized what was wrong as a small scouting plane landed on the bar counter, explaining that the fairies of Chrsantheme were mad.
"Well, time to get to work. I'll start the chicken you go make something sweet." Himiko ordered as they each went back to their shops, the smell of sweets and savory food coming from the respective shops. A few minutes later, they each went out to look for the fairies, each carrying a box which was marked with their signature stamps. Reaching the scene, they sighed as they looked at the fairies.
"Oi, you want to change the patrol schedule? The light cruiser in charge is at the restaurant, haul your ass over and take this, for the fairies." Himito said as they both gave them the boxes before walking back to their restaurant.
Meanwhile, Kokai had finished and already left the restaurant, in half rigging only lacking his guns as he walked along the path, passing by the screaming ships that had just been passed boxes, not really caring about the fact that he was still wearing a skirt that barely made it above his knees. "That was nice, well, time for morning training." He thought, walking down to the training area as he requested that today's training was anti air. Although he was purpose built for it, it was still good to keep his skill level up. As he was equipped with the last of his rigging and sent out to the enclosed area. Orange planes came out as he raised his guns. They were almost symmetrical, in the design of Yamato with two on each side and one at his back which would be raised. His hand held a small platform holding 3 20 mm anti air guns, while the other held a depth charge. On his legs were the torpedo launchers, one on each side. As he smirked, the guns elevated and he raised his anti air guns up, firing practice rounds at the planes with the sound being heard throughout the area.

Indeed, I was still at the restaurant of the two supply ships as I heard the anguished wail of the destroyer, simply knowing, that it was because of the patrol schedule. I mean, whatever else could it be?
And I even had a relatively solid feeling, that it was because of Chrysantheme and Novaya not being part of the same patrol, never during the coming week. They had been together quite a long time, so it was to be expected, that they had a strong will to work together during their service here. I was not opposed to it on principle, quite on the contrary, but there were enough arguments speaking against it.
As the twins made off with the fairy's breakfast, hopefully not forgetting the airfield and the coastal artillery, I sighed and sat down near the restaurant, on a bench. Visible, how could one miss such a beautiful lassie as I was?, and still relaxed.
Suddenly, there was movement on my... 'argumentation amplifiers'. Looking down, I stared into the face of a cheeky little bastard of a fairy, clad in SDF-Navy Blue Dress, who grinned up to me as he stood there, requesting a bit of aid to get onto her shoulder.
"There are other ways to get onto my shoulder, you know?!", I grumbled, but smiled, as I helped him up.

Novaya and Chrysantheme continued walking together, holding each other's hand (Novaya, Chrysantheme, Shiroiyuki, and Shinosaki are friends, of course), as they find for Rhiannon. As that happens, the fairies of Novaya and Chrysantheme we're all asking everyone if they've seen Rhiannon, the one who made up the Patrol Plan, anywhere. It was this moment that one of the Night Fighters fairies, who was testing a rocketpack, comes by. "Oh, Rhiannon? At the restaurant of the Himi twins." The fairy with the jetpack said as she lands on Novaya's helmet. "Alright. PANZER VOR!!!" Novaya, Chrysanthemum, and their fairies said out loud (said yelling also heard by everyone in the Naval Base) as they head towards the restaurant.
It doesn't take long for them to find their way to the restaurant, because they're already at the entrance thanks to the jetpack fairy's directions. The two entered the restaurant and looked around just as the jetpack fairy asked, "Say, are you and Chrysantheme in a relationship or now a couple?" The two ships looked at her and replied, "NO! No! We only held hands because we're friends, okay!? Even Shiroiyuki and Shinosaki and we do that every time!" Novaya's fairy Admiral interrupted them and said, "Guys, Rhiannon's there. Now go." At his urging, the two approached Rhiannon just as Chrysantheme's fairies approached the light cruiser and began their begging, crying, pleading, raging, screaming, yelling, trolling, protesting, petitioning, requesting, demonstrating, and so on of getting Chrysantheme onto the Night Patrol.
"Sorry about them..." Novaya said to Rhiannon. "They've been on edge since they just read that bulletin board that has the Patrol Plan earlier." Chrysantheme added, scratching the back of her head and blushing and smiling. "The rest of the Night Fighters will join them if Chrysantheme's not added into the Night Patrol." Novaya's fairy Admiral said.

Coralier gazed upon the notice board, a single finger on the piece of paper, as it pointed to the times when Coralier would have to go out on patrol. Of the seven days listed on the schedule, six of required her to be accompanied. Seeing this, she could only shrug at it, as it only gave her more chances to experience different things. Keeping those in mind, her finger slid across the paper into the Monday column and onto her name. Asking herself, Kokai spoke. "Hmm, I'm with Kokai for the. That's the other heavy cruiser, correct?! If I remember correctly in terms of firepower, the difference was only minimal in total, not counting those torpedoes of course. Although, my guns have a longer maximum range than any of his weapons, so I guess I can focus on keeping any potential enemies at bay while he closes in or fight off any aircraft surrounding us."
Shrugging once more, Coralier shifter her gaze to the other piece of paper on the notice board. "A Volunteer plan? Uh... I guess I'll sign on for the scouting missing on Saturday, since I only go out on patrol once on that day." Mind made up, Coralier took the pencil and signed her name there, before moving on to the restaurant. Upon arriving, saw that a good portion of the base was already up and about having breakfast this morning. Among other things, the largest of them all seemed to be happily downing huge amounts of resources.
"... Maybe not, I should have enough resources to last until dinner." With that said, she quickly walked out of the restaurant and just wondered the base, in hopes getting to do something.

The pilot of the crashed plane looked up to Baylee and grinned.
Baylee quietly smiled towards the spectacle that unfolded on her palms. These fairies were quite the special bunch indeed as they were not only grateful for her appearance on the scene, but also for her actions as well. While Baylee had no words for the moment to supplement her interaction with the pilots in her palms, there was another instance before that involved fairy shenanigans.
FLASHBACK START
The metallic opening of a locker door gently yet briefly echoed throughout the locker room as Baylee accessed her belongings. She had just got done from taking a hot shower, and she was glad that she was finally clean and refreshed from a long week of coastal patrolling. The frigid cold - or better known as the Atlantic Freeze - was something that all the Kraician shipgirls dreaded throughout the winter and spring seasons, and Baylee was no exception as she became grateful for luxury of a hot shower.
Being in nothing but her towel, Baylee was not alone in the locker room, since the other destroyer shipgirls - whether they were her sisters or not - were getting dressed as well and chattering away in their own banters; however, recent gossip had seemed to spread regarding the welfare of the base fairies. Of course, gossip could mostly be just rumors conjured to just blackmail certain individuals or groups; however, just when Baylee thought nothing of this gossip, it was when she got her undergarments on that she heard a familiar voice to her right.
"Top of the mornin', Baylee." Brinley nonchalantly greeted her sister ship, Baylee.
As a Bentlee-Class Destroyer, Brinley was almost literally a clone to Baylee; however, the few striking differences was that Brinely had brown hair and eyes, and she had a slightly lower pitch voice than Baylee. Both Bentlee-Class Destroyer Shipgirls were the same height, weight, and body types, though their personalities mostly contrasted from each other. Baylee was the quieter and subtle one, whereas Brinley was the more social and confident counterpart, and it was no surprise that she was often considered as the gentle loudmouth of the Bentlee-Class Destroyers...for good reasons...
"Aye, sis..." Baylee replied back as she was putting on her undershirt and skirt - with Brinley getting dressed as well via starting with her undergarments.
"You know, the showers are the much needed thearf away from the latest hearsays." Brinley sighed as she slipped on her shirt and undershirt.
"You be telling me." Baylee nodded while she grabbed and put on her standard-issued red dress shirt, "I hear that those bleedin' elves (fairies) had tossed about their own holiday. Who aleaved that kind of bullocks?"
"Some of our shipmates say the divemates (sub-girls) are at fault." Brinley shrugged nonchalantly.
"The diveboats (submarines)?" Baylee frowned before supplementing it with disgust.
"Aye." Brinley nodded as she fastened her skirt and undershirt, "I mean, can you believe that? Those utter wee cunts of all things had the balls to let their elves let loose."
"Sis, I don't reckon about the divemates having the balls." Baylee shrugged rather inconvenienced as she fastened her standard-issued red dress shirt, "Because if I withcall one spell of hearsay, the Fleethelmship (Admiralty) foreholds that the cruisermates (cruiser-girls) may be inheld."
"Aye?" Brinley gaped; however, surprise was more evident on her face than disgust, "You mean cruisermates like Clarkson? That mate is like the utter rakehell (pervert) around here."
"He is indeed, but I reckon he has trouble getting his elves under control." Baylee pondered as she fasten the last button on her dress shirt, "Not to say that he been bashing (partying) not long ago with the other cruisermates."
"Ah..." Brinley agreed as she quickly realised where her sister was leading, "So that is where some of the elves got the booze. I was wondering how those filthy fellows got all drunk and crazy. That makes sense."
"All just from my own thoughts?" Baylee frowned while reaching for her black coat and garrison cap.
''I never said that be utterly true, but that is something to withhold for the time." Brinley was fixing the last few buttons on her red dress shirt as she nodded.
"Aye." Baylee uttered as she put on her socks and boots, "Maybe we can beat some sense into those mates after they sober up."
"I reckon you like to teach them. Wouldn't you, sis?" Brinley chuckled as she fasten her on her black coat, though not before shooting down Baylee's disagreement, "But you can't for us wee shipmates."
FLASHBACK ENDS
Baylee was suddenly broke out of her thoughts when the sound of fire sirens drove towards her direction and towards the downed fairy-sized airplane. The firefighter truck came to a stop with the fire crew handling the smoldering airplane wreckage; however, it was when Baylee watched the wreckage be extinguished that she happened to look down back at the fairy pilots...only to find the pilot grinning up at her. Baylee chuckled nervously as she feared that something had gone amiss while she was lost her thoughts; hopefully that wasn't the case...
