Base, Sector CN-17, Operational Sector Wide Sea - South West.
Start of Day 1.

Skip-skip-skippity-dip!, I thought as I made my way from the Cruiser Dorm, where I shared a room with two other cruisers, who were quite a bit larger then I was. In this tropical paradise, however, it mattered little, if you ask me and...
...maybe I should introduce myself: Blue hair, long and nearly reaching my stern, its ends bound together, as were the strands framing my face, deep brown eyes, rather large, though not the largest (that award went somewhere else, I have to admit) fuel tanks in the fleet, nearly always clad in the Geansai of the Tribe of Galway and quite a bit of a typical Selkie - yep, that's me, Light Cruiser SDFS Rhiannon, name-ship of the Rhiannon-class of light cruisers, reporting for duty!
Speaking of which, I had the utmost pleasure to be the one posting the most important document of the week, the Patrol Plan, on the Headquarter's Notice Board, right next to the Dorm Room Plan and various commercials and announcements. Did I mention, that it was a rather large notice board?
Regardless of that, in this tropical paradise, patrols were prelude to fun and that was the important part, if one asks me. Sure, the enemy still needed to be defeated, send back to the deepest reaches of hell or however it was usually put, but one could have a bit of fun along the way. And enjoy the good food made by the supply ships Himito and Himiko, the cooking siblings.
But before I could go and devour my breakfast, the Patrol Plan had to be posted:
Patrol Plan

Remember: The patrol is supposed to be a look around the neighbourhood and to see, if the mine barrages are still intact - not seek and destroy missions.
Quick Response Reserves: Supply vessels Himiko and Himito, Super-Heavy Siege Ship Imperatritsa Ketrin.
Objections to the patrol plan to Light Cruiser Rhiannon (who made this one).

It was hard enough to work out the patrol plan, so that no one had two consecutive patrols, basically short spins around the block to see, if everything was alright, and mix it up a bit - at least the Night Patrol was always at least half-filled, Novaya was a nice boy, but also nocturnal, which made him an ideal choice for that part of the plan. The destroyers, Chrysantheme and Yakaze, were rather occupied throughout the week as well, they had many capital ships, but little in the ways of escorts.
I almost had a guilty conscience.
Further limitations were, that I would not send out the supply ships unless it was absolutely necessary, with the same limitation to the Superheavy Siege Ship Imperatritsa Ketrin, which I simply called Caty. It was nothing personal, but the former two were mostly unarmoured and except a small gun each unarmed, the latter drained our supplies faster then a destroyer on a sugar rush.
To its side came another sheet with a small pencil hanging from a stick by its side:

Week-Specials Volunteer Plan

Scouting Mission, Sector DN-16 (Tuesday)

Scouting Mission, Sector DN-17 (Thursday)

Salvage Operation, Sector CN-17 (sometime this week)

Volunteers, please use the pencil to write down your name! Maximum number, 3 people per mission!

I smiled as both hung there, taking a step back to admire my work, looking at Monday's Morning Patrol - that'd be me, with the Destroyer Yakaze, a cute girl, if one asked me. It was around one and a half hours until we had to depart.
The week could come!

Kokai

"Morning duty once again?" Kokai asked himself, getting up as he stretched slightly. Currently he was the only male cruiser in the entire dorm, which made it nice but lonely when he was back in the dorms when not escorting the twins around or doing morning practice. Turning to the ceiling, he fell back down in his bed as he curled up with his blanket. "Not this morning, another day." Before he fell asleep, he suddenly shot up from his bed as his nose began to sniff something out. "Is that, the twin's cooking?!" He quickly put some decent clothes on as he went out of his dorm room and locked the door before running down to the restaurant and sweet shop of the twins, two story buildings located side by side and attached together.

"Breakfast breakfast breakfast breakfast." He began to mutter as he dodged most ships that were up in the morning, despite his slow speed at sea the smell of Himiko's food was still delectable to him even after escorting her and spending time with the twins in presence of them cooking. As he ran down the halls and through the naval district, he made a swerve at the corner as he came to the shop of the twins.

Himi twins

"God the sun isn't even up yet why are you calling me Himiko."

"Himito, did you remember to braise the beef and leave the natto out to ferment."

"Wait i thought you left them out, I had to leave early. Wait, if you didn't, and I didn't, shit."

"Himito come down to the shop now or I'll coat all your candy in beef sauce."

As Himito slammed the phone down and got out of bed, he quickly put on his coat and some clothes and dashed down to the store as he fumbled with his set of keys to the his sister's store. Slamming the door open, he ran to the back of the kitchen to see Himiko still wearing night clothes and her coat as she continued braising the beef, oblivious to him. "Himiko, i just realized this but why the hell are you braising beef at 5 in the morning."

"Because I've lost control of my life. My life now revolves around braising beef. Now go help me make some amagoyaki, and grill the saba. At five in the morning."

Sighing, Himito put on the other white apron hanging from the hook as he began to grill the fish while cracking the eggs at the same time. After a while, the smell of tamagoyaki and saba, along with braised beef would slowly come out from the shop, almost filling the entire naval district.

By the Headquarters.
I admired my work for but a moment, but that was, when my nose picked up a target worth hunting for... someone was making braised beef. I had a rough idea, who that could be, or rather the list of possible suspects was very, very short, but that didn't make me less inclined to go over to the two restaurants and start my day with a very good, very hearty breakfast there.
Who knew, maybe some of the others were already there as well?
With my hopes high up, I skipped towards the two restaurants, which were side by side - for the two cooks, sisterships, although one was male, it was something very important and I was very much inclined to agree.
Two storeys, the upper also having a small sleeping room each in case it got late and one of them was not willing to or not able to return to their dorm rooms, were in front of me, the smells originating from the kitchens.
This, I thought, would become a very delicious breakfast.

Well, she'd managed to make it to the assignments board without tripping over the floorboards or something, so that was a good start to the day. Taking a look at the board, she saw that there was, thankfully, still quite a while before she had to actually go out on patrol, headed out with Chrysantheme later that day. Taking a quick look at the volunteer board, she decided to go ahead and write herself down for the DN-17 Scouting and CN-17 Salvage missions. Taking a quick stretch, she began thinking about how to spend the following hours: She could go back to the Cruiser dorms, where she was far and away the largest member on account of her Battlecruiser classing, despite easily meeting Battleship proportions; she was headed up to Himiko's shop for breakfast anyway, she could hang out there for a bit; or she could head out to the beach, just take in how different it was from the terrain back in Canada. Well, there was time to think of that later: for now, to Himiko's!

Empress Catherine

It was one's typical morning for Catherine. This battleship, while ridiculously huge, took a just as ridiculous time to get energy for the day. She was on her sixth cup of coffee, walking around and trying to use the crisp morning air to get her generators going. Her tiredness could even be SEEN, with the occasional stumble and loss of coffee. She'd drowsily take a sip from the foam cup, shuddering from the sheer heat as she didn't really give it time to cool down. Once that was over with, she groaned. It was going to be a long morning, she thought. Until she picked up a scent.

Food.

Now, while Catherine has a massive fuel bunker [hehe], she almost permanently has room to eat. Plus, that's gotta be the Himi's cooking, right? I love their cooking! The titan of a warship immediately chugged the rest of her coffee, slamming it into a nearby trashcan. Empress gathered whatever energy she had rummaging around inside of her and broke out into sprint. While she wasn't necessarily fast, she was supersonic for a vessel of her size. Panting lightly, the battleship would rush over to find the source of the scent.

Destroyer Dorms, Base, Sector CN-17

"Morning CL, morning CB, night CV, noon CA, noon CB, evening CL, morning CA, night CV, evening CB wait a minute-" Reading off the patrol schedule as she stopped by the notice board, Yakaze couldn't help but feel one of her eyebrows twitch. Rather violently, at that, as her train of thought went and died in Ironbottom Sound. "Are they seriously sending the carrier on night patrols... oh right. CV(N)..." Even with her being posted to this... honestly, rather remote joint base, she STILL couldn't get used to the fact that there were carriers that operate exclusively at night. It's not by any measure an easy task, discarding decades of ingrained perceptions and doctrine. Carriers shouldn't be operating at night, that's just unnatural...

Shuddering, she took a look at the Special Missions sign-up sheet. In her head, a somewhat helpful chatter of "Desu desu desu..." informed her that she only had a single patrol sortie on Thursday, which would mean that she should be free. After putting her name down on the form for the DN-17 scouting mission, the destroyer turned and headed for breakfast.

-----
Himiko's Restaurant, Base, Sector CN-17

It was a quietly satisfied Yakaze who entered the restaurant ran by the two supply ships, finding herself the first to arrive even with her usual morning exercise routine. Peering at the counter, she hummed as she looked at the dishes available- wait. Raising an eyebrow, she looked at the twins. "Ara ara..., braised beef? I am certain it tastes delicious, but I have to say it seems rather early for that, do you not think so?" Making up her mind only took a brief moment. "I would like a serving of that, thank you. And rice, of course... and is that tamagoyaki?"

"Good morning, Caty!", I called to her as she chugged past, easily picking up pace, "Wanna have an escort? Vancouver, wanna come along, too?"
The last thing was called over to the battlecruiser, accompanied by a smile.

Cath dropped her speed to a casual jog, a.k.a. cruising speed. She would look down to the small one [atleast, small to her], smiling widely and gently ruffling her hair slightly. Oh and, did I mention the rather... sharp... teeth that Empress has? Unnaturally sharp, even.
"Well, good morning to you too, Rhiann...anon.... uh... I'll pronounce that right someday. Sorry... Oh, and, da! An escort would be very good, yes!"
She blushed slightly at her own incompetence to pronounce Rihannon's name, but it was no matter. She would smile widely again and keep on jogging.

I grinned and sped up to match Cath's speed, looking up to the maw with the sharp teeth, of which I was quite sure, that they could bite me in half... better not think about them and more about the giant they were attached to, which could break me in half... you know what? Let's look for inner values.
Although I hated it to have my hair ruffled, it was meant as a friendly gesture and that was all that counted.
"Don't worry, Cath.", I replied, protecting her flank, with a grin (mostly because I had a very similar reason for calling her Cath and not by her full name, but that's a story, too), "Just call me Rhi!" A few moments passed in silence as the restaurant came in sight. "So... what are your plans for the day?"

She shrugged, slowing down to a walking pace and beginning to catch her breath. "Food is good though, which is why we're going to raid the Himi twin's restaraunt." Cath giggled at her own statement.

Panting lightly, the battleship would rush over to find the source of the scent.

...when I saw Caty jogging past, chugging a bit towards the shared destination.
"Good morning, Caty!", I called to her as she chugged past, easily picking up pace, "Wanna have an escort? Vancouver, wanna come along, too?"
The last thing was called over to the battlecruiser, accompanied by a smile.

"Well, I was headed there anyways, sure! Nice to see ya two this morning."

She sets off, jogging a bit to keep up, and as the conversation continued on nodded and followed along (OOC: Too late for me to take part in most of it :P), and when it came to Rhiannon's latest interjection...

The Selkie wrote:"Fast in, grab what we can, faster out and hope that no one catches us?", I replied, grinning as well. "I like it!"
I let a few beats pass, not mentioning, that I was roundabout ten knots faster then her, so.
"Their food is really good, though.", I added, "Especially Himito's sweets!" What can I do? Not only am I a warship, I also am a Selkie, the sweet tooth was part of the course. "He looks nice enough, but his sweets...!"
I grinned up to the giant superheavy siege ship.

"Certainly sounds like a plan I could get behind. Wonder what they're cooking this morning? Certainly doesn't smell like what they usually do. A bit meaty... not sure, though. Smells good, in any case," she adds with a smile.

Rustyal wrote:"Well, not exactly, but. I'm just going to eat a lot. A big ship needs a similar sized amount of food!~" She giggled again, pushing the door open and stepping inside. "Sweets never hurt anyone, though. I like Himito's a lot too. I've always wondered how they make such good food..." She pondered a bit before walking over to a table and sitting down.

"Well, the process used to get it aside, it certainly is really good..."

I grinned at Vancouver as we entered the restaurant.
"That it is!", I told her with a nod, before looking forward.
Besides the two supply ships, we weren't the first ones here, as Yakaze was already there, picking out her food.
"Good Morning, Yakaze!" My greeting was accompanied by a small bow of my head, respecting the the elegance and composition of the destroyer prompting me to greet her a bit more formally then I would greet, for example, one of my sisters. "Us two will be on our merry way later this morning... I look forward to it!"

She sighed a bit, smacking the table a few times before looking around. The battleship had nothing to say, so, the only thing she could really do was inspect the interior of the restaurant. Her crimson red eyes would trace their way around the building, and Ketrin herself was still slightly entranced by the scent of the cooking.

Destroyer Dorms, Base, Sector CN-17
HLFFS Baylee

"God go to bloody hell..." Baylee cursed inaudibly as she arose from her dormitory bed with an acing back. Her blonde hair that was usually fixed in a 'bobby' haircut was cratered with bed hair in every place possible except the sides. Nevertheless, Baylee took a moment to herself before stretching her shoulders and arms, and then swing her legs out of her bed.

"These Dawnlandish beds take some gettin' used to." Baylee muttered as she stood up to her full height of 152cm. She was still in her pajamas - pants and shirt - and there was nothing to protect her feet as she walked towards the bathroom to fix herself up. Though before going to the bathroom, she bothered not to forget her navy uniform that was hung up in the closet.

A moment would pass as Baylee emerged from the bathroom in her uniform and a clean groomed appearance. All she did to rid herself of bed hair was drench her blonde hair in water and give it a nice few combs before drying it well with any towel. Unfortunately, Baylee had yet to acquire some footwear when she emerged from the bathroom; however, that was quickly resolved when she put on her socks and boots from the closet.

"Aye..." Baylee uttered to herself as she fasten the laces on her right boot, "Nothing like a set of work boots to get ye' goin'."

Though it was just moments after fastening her boots that her senses caught the whiff of a familiar scent. The smell of food nearby was something that she caught as something usual for any naval base like this one; however, the thought of food was the last thing on Baylee's mind as she stood there for a moment. She had yet to figure who be cooking something so marvelous in the kitchen, but there were a couple things she had to attend to.

While she was slow yet stern to head towards the notice board, she found herself looking at the board all alone; however, the statistics provided from the schedules and sign-up sheets unleashed mixed reactions from the Kraician destroyer shipgirl. Baylee happened to so read the patrol plan to herself before giving off a reaction, "Night Patrol; Novaya, Novaya, Novaya..."

Reading the night patrol in all seven days of the week gave Baylee a curious reaction, not so much the fact that someone is assigned all the night patrols, but because of how one shipgirl has all that responsibility of guarding the base in every night.

"Bullocks..." Baylee spat out inaudibly, "Does that lass ever get a day off? Oh well, these 'week specials' will hand over better luck in some way."

Momentarily, Baylee had diverted her attention to the Week Special Volunteer Plan and began to ponder which mission to take...

(FINALLY A FIRST POST FOR ME)

(P.S. I hope I am starting in the right place)

A shipgirl and fairies were a pair, that simply could not be parted. It was... like bread and butter.
And one needed the other just as much, mainly because one was the equipment and the other was the ones operating it and a lot of it came down to a headache, if one thought about it. Regardless of that, the fairies of the the Operational Sector Wide Sea - South West were as much of an international bunch as the shipgirls they worked for and with.
It was a sight to see, especially the airfields: An assembly of fairy-sized airplanes for reconnaissance, combat, transport... amongst others, there was a squadron of Giodrog Torpedo Bombers, as well as other aircraft, which would be sortied in the direst of emergencies and could even be embarked onto aircraft carriers (although the Giodrog still needed to make trials with Novaya, but that was another story). Still, a pair of these fairy sized planes was in the air right now, but not in the happy way.
The three men crew of the second aircraft had to fight to keep the engine running. Somewhere, a fuel line was ruptured and leaked and... "Oha.", one of them said in their language, which practically amounted to "Oh, dear..." in English.
His two companions looked forwards: Not only was the forward cabin window, which was needed by the pilot to see where he steered the plane, covered in thick, inky oil, but it was also on fire. While all three fairies took a moment out of their panic to ponder, how that came to be, the engine cut out.
A moment, they glided... then they fell like a stone towards the headquarters building, more precisely closer to the notice board, where a destroyer was pondering something.
Bailing was easier said then done, but all three managed it, hanging on their parachutes as they glided towards the ground, their plane crashing around fifteen metres away from the destroyer on the street, while they glided towards the ground.
The pilot even waved to the destroyer in greeting.

Smiling slightly, Yakaze bowed slightly towards the light cruiser. "Good morning to you too, Miss Rhiannon. And indeed, I too will be looking forward to working with you later on." Then, she frowned as a thought occurred to her. "Say, I saw that Carrier Novaya has been assigned night shift for the whole week. Is he... alright, with it?"

"I shalt onmark to these 'scouting missions' with this fellow." Baylee jingled to herself calmly as she signed her name on the Tuesday and Saturday scouting missions, "Bet they shalt need some air-ward at hand..."

Baylee had finished signing her name on the missions before letting the pencil and cord dangle; allowing her to complete her personal small talk, "As a matter of truth, I wander where everyone has...?"

Baylee suddenly stopped her self-bantering as she heard a small crash nearby out on the street. She turned her head to the windows behind her and saw the unmistakable sight of a burning fairy-sized airplane crash sight; however, she was quickly relieved when she saw the parachutes of three pilot fairies. The situation could've been worst had there been no survivors, though there was one thing that got her attention aside from the fairy-sized airplane wreckage.

"Eh?" Baylee uttered with a slight frown on her face as she saw the three fairies waving her as they safely descended to the ground with their parachutes, "What little chaps got you shot down this time?"

Her words were completely inaudible behind the window, but she was certain that the parachuting fairy pilots had saw the movements in her lips. Curiosity was greater than her confusion, so it was reasonable to say that she was intrigued as how these fairy pilots had been shot down. An attack couldn't have been this close as she pondered; however, she had to wonder whether or not a training exercise was in session somewhere.

Without wasting a breath for words or shock, Baylee jogged down the hallway and got outside moments later to find the fairy pilots landing on the ground. The wreckage of the fairy-sized airplane was nothing but a smoldering pile of metal scraps and oil, so there was nothing to salvage from the fairy-sized aircraft; however, Baylee could only crouched down to the fairy pilots and inspect their condition. Thankfully, all three of the pilots were healthy and unharmed - never mind the fact that they were shaken from bailing out of their unfortunate aircraft.

"You little fellows been shot somewhere?" Baylee asked out of the blue, which was intended to figure out the cause of their crash landing, "I be frighten to find that we be under fire this soon."

The pilot, thankful for the attention of the destroyer and saluting her quickly while his crew detangled themselves from their chutes, shook his head at the question. No, they hadn't been shot at, but mechanical failure during a training flight had proven to be their downfall, he explained in their language.
His crew looked up to the destroyer as well, calming down and happy, that there was a first-responder so cute as Baylee was. They took of their leather caps as well, replacing them with the garrison caps usually worn when on the ground, while their pilot was still explaining the crash to Baylee, still in his harness with the chute now flat on the ground.
His navigator, meanwhile, looked to the wreck. Indeed, it was merrily burning on the asphalt, far away from anything dangerous and the firefighting fairies in their vehicle, which might look like something the destroyer Yakaze would play with if she was into land vehicles as well, surely on their way as well. Good luck wrapped in bad luck as they were now down one plane... if he got his hands on that mechanic...!
His thought was rudely interrupted by the wind picking up.
For him, not a problem... for his pilot, still wearing his harness and parachute, however, it was as he was suddenly fighting to keep his chute down and himself on the ground, decidedly against returning to the sky that quickly after he crashed, squealing.

Meanwhile, in the restaurant...

Catherine is casually eating... and when I say casual, I mean that she's effortlessly eating lots of plates of food. It's unnatural how much she's eating. And, believe it or not, basically nothing has spilled. Not even on her face. She was occasionally emitting sounds of content, clearly happy about the fact she gets to uh. Restock so much.

Himiko's restaurant

As the ships came in, she paid them no heed as she stood by her station, focusing purely on braising the beef. But as Himito saw them, he began to greet them. "Yo. Today's menu is the same, you can choose a course between saba, tamago and braised beef that Himiko suddenly made at five in the morning."

"My life now revolves around my cooking schedules."

"Himiko it's five, no one I know wakes up that early."

"Himito the last time I saw you wake up early it was at four and you were making caramel which and I quote, was 'for the kids' "

"Right, well here's your breakfast. We're giving you all three of it so you don't really have a choice." He said, muttering something to her as he carried out two trays of the usual rice and miso along with the three dishes they had that day. Coming in and out of the kitchen for each two trays as Himiko sat at the counter. Today was special as they were willing to give some refills.

At that moment, Kakoi swerved as he ran straight into the restaurant. When the twins saw him, they happened to be taking a break after serving all the ships there, and promptly spit out the water that they had drunk.

"Hmm? What's wrong?" Kakoi asked, unaware of what he was wearing.

"Kakoi, you're literally wearing a skirt that barely makes it just above your knees."

"Who cares, at least I'm still wearing clothes." He causally said before dodging the youkan block from Himito. They were gus choice weapons with their weight and the fact that he could easily hide them. Himito sighed before giving Kokai a tray if breakfast as he began to eat.

I looked at Himiko with a small smile, telling her, that she was not alone by that - after all, my life revolved around patrol schedules nowadays.
Still, took my tray and sat down at Caty's table, smiling as she basically inhaled the food in front of her. A quick prayer to Rhiannon, the Goddess of Horses and Fertility after which I was named, spoken in silence, thanking her for the meal and asking her to favour the cooks with her blessings, and off we went, my food and I...
...and it was delicious!
Then Kokai came in, wearing a skirt, but I ignored that in favour of delicious food.

Cath happily accepted the extra plate of food, immediately devouring it. She waved slightly, munching on her food somewhat loudly. Not her fault. She's got too much in her mouth. "IIshh de-icious!", is all she could say as she stuffed herself with more resourc- er, food. She swallowed what was in her mouth and set down the empty plate. "I mean, it's delicious!" She giggled lightly.
