It also has a stable airline in your nation, as seen in issue #747(added after 909): The Plane Truth. It quite possibly shares borders with Marche Noire. It is also a fairly conservative nation, quite possibly works with AI, and has nuclear weapons testing.

One prominent Bigtopian, Nicholas Condor, called for the extermination of your people. Bigtopia has cheaper labor than your country, leading to outsourcing from your country to theirs. Bigtopia had a dictatorial regime led by the mass-murdering "Butcher of Bigtopia", also known as Lee Terallihitlah, but this regime was overthrown by revolutionaries. Several issues relate to relatives of this crimelord.
Bigtopia harbors anti-government activists from your country, leading to military tensions. The nation also shares a major river with you, and are downstream from your nation.
Issue #860 reveals that your nation has in fact gone to war with Bigtopia, at one point, and the effect lines in 377.1 and 358.3 also seem to suggest that you may presently be at war with them. According to issue #1000, three of the five speakers claim that Bigtopia is your most trusted friend and ally, although speakers 4 and 5 seem to say otherwise.

Blackacre: A nation with chilly relations with your country, to the extent that Blackacre sent agents to assassinate you. One of their agents, Ussa Maddox, is the alleged nemesis of your country's least-reliable spy, Crazy Boris, who blames Maddox for sinking one of your navy's vessels. Blackacre had fracking operations which lead to earthquakes in their country. Blackacre's leader seems to be an aggressive dictator named Valeria Drake, who hurls threats at foreign leaders from her Twitcher account and seems to have many similarities with Donald Trump. They also seem to have some ties with Violetism.
They apparently are known for rigging elections in other nationstates — including yours, as seen in #936.
Rumor has it they might be an analogue for a Dystopian future America.

Also seen in #650, it's one of the few nations that your nation gets along with - and even then, they can be a little pushy at times.
As of #915, Brancaland's prime minister is known as Dustin Wiseau.
Brancaland has thriving wood and film exports industries. As such, the nation is apparently sometimes known as Branchaland. It is also extremely obsessed with maple syrup (so basically Canada).
Issue #1163 states they have a two-party system that gets into gridlock. #1212 suggests there's a province named Northern Brancaland.
Fun fact: It has a province called Quaybeck, which is in the middle of a violent separatist movement, instigated by @@NAME@@ extremists, as seen in #650,
which is probably based off of how Quebec in Canada has, in fact, had a couple of referendums for whether or not it should leave the country.

Despite their political instability, the Marche Noirians have a good economy, producing a lot of cars and agricultural products such as rice. They have tensions with neighboring Brasilistan. Marche Noire's leader is the authoritarian Otto Kratt. Marche Noire also exports wine.

Maxtopia: Maxtopia is a nation with a long history, stretching back to the often-referenced "Ancient Maxtopians", such as King Maxbari IV. Maxtopia and North Bigtopia are historic enemies, but try to make peace in issue #877. This country has been described as "scenic, yet corrupt and totalitarian", secular, having high tariffs, and executing people for carrying drugs such as "Maxtopian Grass". Maxtopia also has undergone a civil war or two, one of which involves the religious Violetists, who make up a majority in the country. It is the home of the wood-eating spikeball and the dreaded Maxtopian hornet. It apparently has tariffs on sheep and a thriving shrimp industry, along with probably being the owners of Maxay Pacific Airlines. Acording to issue #1446, ancient Maxtopia used to use hieroglyphs without punctuation, suggesting it's an ancient civilization (the nation is likely heavily inspired by the Middle East and Egypt). It's also apparently a bit war-torn but that's fine.

Yeah, you read this right. It's based on the Matrix movie, hence its first appearance. It could hypothetically represent old or modern France, albeit that title is more in line with Galliennes, and it is more likely to represent Belgium, given that's the area the irl Merovingians came from, as well as their fame for chocolates. It's also hinted in issue #1281: The Not-So-Worldwide Web that they might have sentient AI, further giving a subtle hint at the Matrix theme. Issue #1455 has a speaker who's an executive from "Merovingian Minolta".

Appears to be in a region with neighboring nationstates that are often fascist and theocratic dictatorships. They themselves execute people who do not follow their national religion, as well as arrest homosexuals.

San Vitenzo: A small, socialist nation off the coast of the United Federation (almost undoubtedly an analogue for Cuba), run by a president-for-life named "Doc" Moreno. The nation was first introduced in the MADness issue chain, requesting you set up nukes around their nation (if you're socialist), or being a rival you must sabotage (if you're capitalist). It is revealed in the same chain to be nearby to your nation - if you're capitalist. However, it is on the "other side of the world" if you're socialist. This suggests that San Vitenzo either has multiple pieces, the Region mover tool is more powerful than we once thought, or, more likely, the story just changes depending on what power you're playing as. Its capital city is established as Granfalloon.

Savoiia: Its first appearance was in issue #1004: Two Countries and a Baby. Its name is from Savoy, a duchy of Italy/France. Savoiia is meant to be similar to the Vatican — though larger (may also be an analogue to Italy), and is a neighbor to your nation.

Skandilund: Skandilund, which is probably based off of Scandinavia, seems to be a progressive nation, where laws are viewed more as "guidelines", as seen in 774.1's effect line. They are fairly technologically advanced, as seen in issue #928, and also fairly wealthy, as seen in #938, whereby they'd love to help other nations out — at a bit of an arrogant price. They also have apparently been playfully feuding with your nation over a frozen island named Hanshedrik, referencing the feud between Canada and Denmark, further backed by their gifting you danishes. Skandilund's prime minister is established in the MADness series as Anders Anderson.
Saunas are apparently popular in Skandilund, and some of the best come from there. They also have days of 24-hour sunlight and darkness.

It is in this same chain that it is established that Smalltopia's leader (at least at the time) is Chancellor Kurt Zahmahkibo.

Sometimes just called "The Federation" or the "UF", it's probably based off of the United States, as if you couldn't tell from the rest of this description, or by the fact that they'll charge into your nation dramatically with overly-expensive military gadgets to hunt down suspected terrorists. It notably does not have any climate treaty agreements. It is established in the MADness issue chain that the president is Ken J. Finnedy.

Glorious Eastern United @@ANIMAL@@ Empire: A small, breakaway nation with the population of 12 who wants to rejoin your nation.
Mike Ronation: A citizen of your country who decided to secede due to a map error. Known for assaulting a mailman.
People’s Democratic Republic of @@ANIMAL@@ Hills: Might be another name for the Glorious Eastern United @@ANIMAL@@ Empire - or it might be something else entirely.
@@Animal@@ Republic: A historical break-away state in the northern part of your nation known for its backward racial policies. Still has re-enactors and sympathizers today.
@@RANDOMNAME@@ County A rural county in your nation taken over by a bearded militia led by a turnip farmer which attempts to secede. Evidently, the hardest part is leaving your nation.
Unnamed Nations:
Usually these include nations neighboring yours. They, for some reason, are not named, and may or may not be one of the regular NPC nations or regionmates.
Neighboring nations in general are also sometimes referenced in issues.
I should also note that occasionally, @@REGION@@-specific nations or groups thereof are also mentioned. (Note: Your homeregion's mentioned far more often)
SPECIAL CASES:
In Issue #1340: Unnatural Conception, the speaker of option 6 (shown as the fifth option) is the ambassador of an unpronounceable country beginning with an X and ending with a Y" (which I shall personally call "Xyzzy" in reference to Wonderland Adventures). This is most likely a one-off chromosome joke. However, it should be noted that the person has a thick, stereotypically German accent, and advocates for women to have lots of babies and for the state to provide preferential treatment for them.
One easter egg issue mentions several nations which are parodies off of the XKCD map; more specifically,
#266 Easter Egg: Breaching the Great Fourth Wall of @@NAME@@. (See NationStates southeast of MMO Isle.) The nations are:
Stalclaft (resource-rich war zone; named after Starcraft II)
Cea-Dicee (military superpower with spaceships; CDC Games, also referencing Eve Online which has a partnership)
Subspais (ancient ruins; named after Subspace which, in fact, is underwater)
Uoeq (UO and EQ; Ultima Online and Everquest. Fact: They're actually to the east whereas NS claims they're in the west.)
Sekonlif (Second Life)

Tribes:
Tribe of all life: Probably just references life, but I'm adding it anyways. Appears in #633: Sound Judgement
Dodo Tribe: A tribe in East Lebatuck.
the Maxeliese: An non-contacted, hostile tribe in Wezeltonian territory.
Ngwane Tribe: Found deep in the jungles of @@NAME@@, they practice body modification in their rituals such as the one symbolizing becoming an adult.
Pangaoaoangan Tribe: Found in @@ANIMAL@@ Hills, this tribe lives on top of a rich aluminum deposit. It's part of their religious rituals to use peyote.
Violetstone Tribe: A tribe that lives in Violetstone, which is probably an analogue for Yellowstone.
Trivia: Violetstone is a distinct place from Jellostain National Park.
Unnamed Tribes:
An attested tribe which executes troublemakers and sacrifices virgins using volcanoes in issue #631: The Violet Mile.
Action is taken over whether or not to make contact with another unnamed tribe in issue #129: Tribal Troubles.
In #1209: Your Island Is My Island, Island tribe was claimed by your nation.
In #1278: A Textbook Cover-Up?, a massacre that nearly wiped out an aboriginal tribe in your nation was kept out of a history book.
