It's that time again!

The 4th NationStates Australian Football League Cup (or Australian Rules International Cup) is coming, and we are looking for teams and hosts! If you would like to signup for the AFLC (ARIC), then you know the drill. We are also looking for willing hosts, and the cutoff for bids will be 12:01 a.m. (UTC) Sunday 7th September.

The BID for Australian Rules International Cup 4

1. Why ARIC4 and not AFLC 4?

First, the nation in control of the Australian Football is called "Australian Rules". Second, Australian Football League isn't the name of the sport. AFL is just one of the leagues (the bigest one), In Australia they call the sport simply "Football" or "Footy". I highly recommend to the hosts onwards to keep this in mind.

2. Alice Bay

Alice Bay is a small islander nation in the East. Member of the Imperan League, is an independent country. The diversity of origins (Lisanderian, Native and European) make the Alicean people lovely and diverse. The nation is a Constitutional Monarchy de jure, but since independence (from Lisander, in 1904), most of national affairs are decided by the Prime-Minister, Mr. John Wilkinson, and its cabinet, backed by the Parliament.

Alice Bay is a sport-loving nation. Footy, Rugby Union and Cricket are our national sports. Regarding Footy, the Southern Stars are eighth in the Rankings. When talking Rugby Union, the Crux is 15th. The Alice Bay Cricket Board recently merged into the Lisander Cricket Board and both nations are playing under the same banner. They're currently playing a Test Series at Apox. Alice Bay is recently also known by its national Beach Soccer Team, who reached finals in latest Beach Cup.

3. Format

The tournament will be held in the usual two stages of Pools and Knockout. An even number of national teams (or 15) is preferred, and based on it, the groups will be divided:

8 teams - 2 pools, 4 teams each: Single Round-Robin;
10 teams - 2 pools, 5 teams each: Single Round-Robin;
12 teams - 4 pools, 3 teams each: Double Round-Robin;
14 teams - 2 pools, 7 teams each: Single Round-Robin;
15 teams - 3 pools, 5 teams each: Single Round Robin;
16 teams - 4 pools, 4 teams each: Single Round-Robin.

Knockout stage is yet to be defined, based on the number of signups.

3. Scorination and Roleplaying:

As usual, xkoranate formula for "Australian Football" will be used. I plan scorinating one matchday every RL day, with a rest day before second leg of double round-robin (if applicable) and before Knockout Stage. Cutoff will happen around 17h GMT-0, and results should take no longer after this.

RP Bonus will apply, will be generous and cummulative, but still secret. The more you write, the more you earn. There will be a fixed RP bonus for posting a roster, and extra points for detail and attention with it.

4. Sponsoring:

NEO, The Lisanderian sports apparel provider, will offer sets of free jumpers for all of the participant nations. There's no exclusivity, and each nation can wear (or not wear) what best fits them. Contact Lisander to have them produced.
