ISKANDERVALE
Preferred Formation:
4-3-1-2
Style Modifier: 2
Kit Supplier: Cloaker
Nickname: The Flock

Iskandervale has been through the wars. Specifically, as an oft-forgotten secondary battleground of the Terranean War, as Sameba occupied it and was painstakingly fought off by Nepharim and Euran forces, as well as local partisans. Now, Iskandervale is free... and now it is time to celebrate.

The squad itself is a mixture of locally-based semi-professionals, a few Nepharim with blood ties in the lower tiers and some stars who have made the grade abroad. The collapse of the COCANEFA has been a major roadblock into the IFA's pathway to professionalism, but they've made real strides in the squad, even if the league system will remain semi-professional for the foreseeable future.

Iskandervale has found itself for the first time competing with Nephara to win call-ups, and have missed out on the services of Ishtar Fanaiyan and Servet Misidjan. Premiership striker Sinan Uzunlar, however, has accepted the chance to represent his grandfather's country, and immediately becomes a marquee player for them.

Given a lazy template kit by an apathetic Nephara-based Cloaker. The goalkeepers will wear all-terracotta or all-black.

Tactics
Image
First-choice lineup. The Flock have no technical players and precisely one creative influence in Burgundy. The game plan is to keep tight at the back and swarm forward quickly in numbers, hoping crosses and long balls over the top hit their targets. Those targets are Samarqand and Uzunlar, both tall, strong and athletic forwards. And, naturally, given the Nepharim origins of the side, they will be hard and uncompromising tacklers. Pace and power will be the watchwords, hoping to make up in physicality what they lack in skill.

Staff
Manager: Timur Ardent - Age 55
Asst. Manager: Yasmin Bisakci - Age 38

Ardent was lucky enough to be abroad getting coaching qualifications during the war. Now he's back - no longer pulling double duty with Lokomotiv, but spending the off-cycle trying to revolutionise player and coaching development. He always knows the right thing to say at the right time, and while his tactics are relatively basic, he can at least get these no-hopers motivated. He should also be commended for an exhaustive search for eligible players in the Nepharim league pyramid. Young, intelligent Bisakci is being groomed as a successor, the one to take the next generation forward.

Goalkeepers
1 - GK - Shukhrat Kozak - Age 32 - Leichhardt (NPH)
12 - GK - Gareth Hooker - Age 31 - Kensey Town (NPH)
20 - GK - Ishtar Curran - Age 23 - Lokomotiv Iskandabad

A massive, hulking giant between the posts, Kozak is unsurprisingly good in the air and a decent enough shot-stopper, but the AOCAF will prove a difficult test. Hooker is a decent backup, and many eyes are on Ishtar Curran, a local promising talent who fought as a partisan in the war and has her eyes on a professional contract abroad.

Defenders
2 - RB - Parvana Evans - Age 27 - Riverkey (NPH)
3 - LB - Triffid Ramsey - Age 32 - Cornellians (SCT, c)
5 - CB - Parvizdzhon Borrowfield - Age 28 - AFC Corvistone (NPH)
6 - CB - Davron Umaryaev - Age 29 - Qarshakor
13 - CB - Iskar Serket - Age 22 - Qarshakor
16 - RB - Sigrun Tarragon - Age 27 - Ritter Town (NPH)
18 - LB - Canaya Seraph - Age 21 - Iskandabad United
22 - CB - Reza Neumann - Age 25 - Gonen's Bridge (NPH)

Ramsey is the heart and soul of the squad and will be a major outlet going forward with her accurate crossing and quick feet. Borrowfield's pace on the ground makes up for Umaryaev's rock-solid but agonisingly slow approach. Evans (Iskandervale-born) and Tarragon (Nephara-born) have worked their way through the Nepharim lower leagues and proven themselves as capable rightbacks. Serket and Neumann are decent backups who could make professional grade, though Neumann's Nepharim born and bred - Seraph has high hopes on her round shoulders, and she should get some game time backing up Ramsey.

Midfielders
4 - DM - Leila Rzazade - Age 25 - Dí Maozöxê (FFD)
7 - RCM - Ekaterina Mirzayev - Age 32 - Chenoworth Harriers (NPH)
8 - AM - Ruziqul Burgundy - Age 28 - Rochford (NPH)
11 - LCM - Vuesala Frey - Age 26 - Cypher Town (NPH)
15 - AM - Maryam Darvish - Age 24 - Lokomotiv Iskandabad
17 - DM - Termagant Steiger - Age 23 - Qarshakor
19 - CM - Konradnan Harnwick - Age 24 - Umbershore Rovers
23 - CM - Kashim Broadway - Age 22 - Iskandabad United

Rzazade is a quick, occasionally violent holding midfielder, and is by this stage the lifeblood of the midfield. Mirzayev is a clean technician, and Vuesala Frey offers pace and momentum down the middle. Burgundy's a pure playmaker who excels at short, quickfire passes and decent long shots, with the raw, ambitious Darvish waiting in the wings. Steiger, Harnwick and Broadway are all young, ambitious, physical midfielders aiming for professional contracts abroad - the latter is the only one likely to make the grade.

Forwards
9 - ST - Kurtis Samarqand - Age 29 - Cassandra City (COS)
10 - ST - Sinan Uzunlar - Age 26 - Parrhesia United (NPH)
14 - ST - Sevda Rostak - Age 28 - Boltcroft Thorns (NPH)
21 - ST - Sana Asrori - Age 27 - Braskov Bears (TRN)

The strikers are probably the best part of the squad. Tall, elegant Samarqand and the resilient, powerful Uzunlar are both solid strikers proven in top-class leagues, while the the diminutive but very fast journeywoman Asrori offers something different off the bench. Sevda Rostak's respectable enough, but is unlikely to see game time.

MANAGEMENT

MANAGER
Image Silian Parker, 52 WC Record: 33-5-4 Overall Record: 37-7-6

Silian Parker has really established himself as a mainstay now, with a Quarterfinals appearance under his belt. Dubbed a mad scientist/genius, his capacity of changing his lineup and strategy to go against anything the opponent throws at him makes him a formidable opponent. Can he take the team even further though, to a championship of any kind? Will the Chromatiks continue to be a mainstay in the world? Those are the kinds of questions he has left to answer.

ASSISTANT MANAGER
Image Didier Jacques, 45

PLAYERS

GOALKEEPERS
#1 Jillian Nier, Image Pelethas United Age: 25 Height: 6 ft 1 in Caps: 38 Goals Allowed: 41
#12 Mia Ria, ImageMyrmidon Age: 20 Height: 5 ft 10 in Caps: 19 Goals Allowed: 23

Jillian Nier had a rough time in the knockout stages of the last World Cup Proper, but facing the likes of Valladares and Valanora would do that to anyone. She's filling in Thorben's shoes nicely, not being distracted so much by what could've been. Mia Ria has taken the role of understudy to heart now, already having nineteen caps at her tender age. With the Chromatik game coming down to adaptability and finesse, goalkeeper has become an important position once more, and these girls will be doing their best to keep the tradition going strong.

BACKS
#2 R Erika Morningstar, Image Sabrefell Athletic Age: 28 Height: 6 ft Caps: 104 Goals: 2
#3 L Zlastica Ellen, Image Norrion Rovers Age: 33 Height: 6 ft 11 in Caps: 108
#4 C Luuk Aart, Image Lonngeylin Coast Age: 27 Height: 6 ft 4 in Caps: 122 Goals: 4
#13 R Severin Ilya, Image Sporting Cenial Age: 31 Height: 5 ft 7 in Caps: 65
#14 L Aysu Damjana, Image New Llama Stars Age: 28 Height: 6 ft 7 in Caps: 45
#15 C Lucjusz Stef, Image Mar Sara FC Age: 30 Height: 6 ft 2 in Caps: 94 Goals: 3
#16 C Otis Sorendai, Image Phalanx AF Age: 28 Height: 6 ft Caps: 47

The Chromatik back three is getting advanced in years, or as some would say, they are entering the end of their prime as a group. The trio of Morningstar, Ellen, and Aart all have eclipsed one hundred caps each, an astonishing feat; Morningstar remains as hungry as ever after having experienced success in Sabrefell; Ellen, the eldest of the group, still provides the physical presence; and Aart has really grown to be the backbone of the defense after the rocky days of his past. Severin continues to offer capable backup, although Morningstar doesn't really need it. Damjana has been called upon more and more as Ellen ages, but she's up to the task. Lucjusz and Otis both have previous experience starting, and it shows with the number of caps they have between them and the impact they have. Stef remains a viable substitution late in games for corner kicks.

MIDFIELDERS
#5 R Meagan Kelly, Image Kionao Locals Age: 31 Height: 5 ft 4 in CAPTAIN Caps: 107 Goals: 14
#6 L Jazmin Dragana, Image Parrhesia United Age: 26 Height: 5 ft 11 in Caps: 34 Goals: 11
#7 C Alyss Montague, Image Coret Hawks Age: 28 Height: 5 ft 5 in Caps: 55 Goals: 11
#8 C Sandra Sybill, Image Real Azuris Age: 30 Height: 5 ft 11 in Caps: 67 Goals: 11
#17 R Molly Thorben, Image Tihon Age: 20 Height: 5 ft 10 in
#18 L Carrol Liam, Image Utica United Age: 26 Height: 6 ft Caps: 85 Goals: 5
#19 C Rachel Hellion, Image FC Fairleigh-Warburton Age: 28 Height: 6 ft 6 in Caps: 119 Goals: 20
#20 C Mimi Kuzami, Image Myana Age: 21 Height: 5 ft 2 in

The Chromatik midfield looks very different from what it was before the World Cup, some major changes having happened. The constant is the Captain, as Kelly has proven that childbirth was only a step along her journey and not the end. Parker's experiment at left midfield has left him one Jazmin Dragana, eager to finally show what she is capable of. Montague's presence has been crucial in the last run in the World Cup, while Sandra Sybill has finally beaten out Rachel Hellion despite being two years the senior. Backing these four will be the two that lost the starting jobs, Carrol Liam and Rachel Hellion; Rachel is still the best set piece taker on the squad. Joining them, though, will be two new faces: Molly Thorben, sister to Nikolai, looking to prove it runs in the family, and Mimi Kuzami, a player who can give Miranda "Lightning" Gail a run for her money as the fastest in the previous U-21 team. She makes it on the team before Miranda does, which is interesting, but she will provide a change of pace the team needs.

ATTACKERS
#9 R Kaytlyne Victoriane, Image Lammerton Age: 21 Height: 5 ft 8 in Caps: 35 Goals: 31
#10 S Keira Andisori, Image Starling Age: 23 Height: 5 ft 3 in Caps: 73 Goals: 61
#11 L Gabriella Antonio, Image Coret Hawks Age: 30 Height: 6 ft 1 in Caps: 122 Goals: 43
#21 R Trenn Rien, Image Avenida Leal Age: 26 Height: 6 ft 3 in Caps: 95 Goals: 25
#22 S Nioli Quren, Image Hashbury Age: 31 Height: 6 ft 2 in Caps: 73 Goals: 10
#23 L Ki Niro, Image Cassandra City Age: 28 Height: 5 ft 10 in Caps: 40 Goals: 17

It is up front that the Chromatiks will have to find some new blood fast. This is Gabriella Antonio's last tournament as part of the Chromatiks - the grizzled veteran wanting to start a family and focus on domestic life afterwards. With Dragana gone, it's the ever flexible Ki Niro filling out as her backup, and likely her replacement once she retires. Kaytlyn Victoriane and Keira Andisori have really come to their own, and will likely be two of the most celebrated Chromatiks by the end of their careers. Trenn Rien has been relegated to the backup role, but he is the type to relish it as he relishes everything else. Nioli is still around and kicking, and provides leadership in the locker room more than on the field.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Y
Godmod scoring events: N
RP injuries to my players: Y
Godmod injuries to my players: N
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Y (Max 2)
Hand out red cards to my players: N

Association Football is not the most important sport in Lisander, but is still the most watched and more lucrative. Pro Rugby is growing, but Football is Professional since its begginings. Good or bad, the National Eleven manage to carry its giant fanbase. The idols of football are richer and more famous than Rugby ones. Lisander usually does not approach international football because of the Rule 11.a of the National Sports Confederation: "To represent the nation, one must represent a professional team inside the country. Players who leave the national football pyramid are automatically expelled from the national eleven."

So, Lisander football is based on confinment. The players come from the Tristarbank Premiership, where an offensive and creative game is encouraged. Style Modifier: +3

If there's a need to play home Lisander will play its home games in Vermillion Arena, the recently renamed stadium of the University of Salinas. The reconstruction of the former US Stadium, partly sponsored by Vermillion Investment Group, make the US Stadium the second largest in the nation, with 59,240 seats, and the largest in activity, since EON Arena is currently being remodeled.

Currently, any of current media vehicles decided to buy the television rights for AOCAF Lisanderian games. So, RTL (Radio and Television Lisander) will be the only broadcaster.

Image
So, I'll try to write something, but I'm not certain of it, because I'm exporting Lisander Football to a new scorinator, and it would take lots of time. As well as Rugby and College Stuff, and Real Life, you know, all of this demands a lot of time.

Failing to reach the World Cup for a third consecutive time, Coach Merritt and the Vans sloped their way to their third Cup of Harmony. Having reached its 70th edition, the Qads entered the tournament with high hopes as a first pot team. Battling Löptsegl, Taeshan, and Natanians and Nosts, TQ qualified for the Round of 16, where they had upset a slouching Red Blackiland team. Thanks to a shocking defeat of Ceni (courtesy of Aggrey-Fynn Land), the Qads swiftly reached the semi-finals, edging out AFL and Buyan to reach the grand final for the second straight time. Despite being the absolute underdogs, the Vans prevailed tremendously by blasting the heavyweights, Nephara, out of the water for back-to-back CoH titles.

Travelling to the wonderful engineering land of Tropicorp, the Blue-Reds are in search for their first real mark in the regional playoffs. Will TQ pull off a knockout debut fit enough to please the prince himself? Or will their adversaries strike oil first again? Better get your scripts read, because this is AOCAF LIVe!

From POV of Ryouhei Nagata

Damn Audrei, what a complete wank. After Bahadir's great run, he's just shamed his own countrymen with that kind of performance. Unbelievable! Luckily, I have a replacement that is willing to step up to lead our country to glory again. And he is a former footballer, but not just any footballer.

He is a forgotten legend.

He was a great goalkeeper, the 'Iron Wall' as I like to call him. He made so many saves and reacted to situations quickly. Though he wasn't the tallest out of all keepers (he's short, by the way), he leaped to the air like Superman and catch the ball in high places where strikers were able to head in for a goal. At one time, Mirwan Debrence's header was completely stopped by him in three different situations: Once in a corner and twice in a cross. That man is a blessing to me and his teammates, until one fateful day..........

It was the last minute of the game, at the final game of the season. His team were holding on for a win, at 2-1. By that time, they would had become champions by now. He was ready to dive in for a save. He was prepared for this moment. But out of nowhere, a bottle of water hit him on his head, knocking him out unconscious. The opposition had scored an equalizer and the team had lost the title race. When he woke up, he didn't know what had happened earlier before his teammates had told him. When he found out, he felt heartbroken, humiliated and ashamed by such a rookie mistake. That man wanted to hang up his boots...............forever.

The year has passed since the incident happened. Not many people remember who he is, apart from what caused him to retire. The fan who throw the bottle to him is already at another country, for reasons unknown. As for the goalkeeper I talked about, there are rumors spreading around about him taking his job as a manager, presumably in the minor leagues, and has risen up to become a top manager like Muhaiddin.

And so the rumors are true! Just last week, I received a phone call by my official saying that a new manager is willing to replace Princip, providing that he would gladly take it after he leaves. Today, he has come not only to make his mark as an international manager, but also to take the glory back.

Markus Braeskan, I'm counting on you on a adventure to win it all.

Marcus Braeskan is one of those people who believes in youth over experience. With an exception of Giancarlo Montivollo, most of last edition's squad are replaced by younger, more talented players. Marcus did this to make sure they are loaded with fresh players and not old, 'outdated' veterans. This is why the midfield gets the most change with hidden gems like Minemaru Tsujimoto and Tyler Pryding, as well as Ethan Kreis who has potential to the next captain to replace Nam-Kan. Otherwise the formation is the same: 4-3-3.

For some reason, Damon Smith is no longer in this edition's squad. Rumor has it that he is caught taking drugs to enhance his performance and, as a result, got ban for international football. Others say that he was injured in a freak accident, somewhere on the car crash in the middle of the night. Perhaps no one knows what happen to him, though.

The Kebecois national footballing team has just come off a successful tourney in its most-recent tournament, the Global Cup of Soccer which it all co-hosted alongside the Second Brazilian Empire. After failing to attempt to sign-up for the previous World Cup, Kebec was forced to settle for an appearance in the GCOS, the less-prestigious but still-prestigious secondary football cup in which they reached the quarter-finals and ended the tournament with a 4-0-2 record, allowing for the peoples within Kebec to breathe a fresh sigh of relief concerning the future of Coach Adjei-Kontoh, the Cousmarite who's lead them thru two semi-successful tourneys with a winnig record of 50% -- exactly. Alas, people have questioned whether or not the Kebecois national side was truly ready to take the next step after an embarrassing showing previously in the Independents Cup, but the GCOS appearance seemed to put the national team back-on-track as a potential future power. The whole multiverse now has their eyes set on Kebec -- is this an imminent rise? Is this an explosion that we've been waiting for?

Entering the Oceania and visiting Tropicorp will be Kebec's first journey into the intricacies of the regional battlefield, the AO is one of the most sporting-mad regions in the multiverse, the nation is hungry for a new champion, while we all doubt that Kebec has much of a chance whatsoever, we must pray to the Gods we'll see some form of majesty on display from the young Kebecois team.

Braeksan brings new sets of players: My Opinion

By: Killian Riemar

Newly-hired manager Marcus Braeskan has bring up something 'special' to their national squad this week. What is he bring? A new formation? Possible. A change-up in the tactics? Getting there. An overhaul of the squad? Almost close, readers. But not close enough to which I got news to tell you.

While all of this is true in terms of what is happening at that time I am writing, Braeskan now brings youth players from the Under-21 side as well as the so called 'hidden gems' from the Royal League of the Komariques, assuming that he watched some of the player's performance and stats. He has also replaced all squad members aged 30 and above (with the exception of keeper Giancarlo Montivollo) mainly due to their downgrading form since World Cup 78 and Cup of Harmony 63. Now, I am nothing against these players or their manager himself, but just because you replace players that become sh*t with such young talents and potential international footballers doesn't automatically mean you are going to succeed in this tournament. In fact, have they realised that they never played a single international friendly match prior to this? How the hell can we test these players if we never done that? We don't know if they are a piece of wank or a future superstar! So for that reason, this is a bit of a bad start to the campaign. However, I do not think everyone is pretty much useless here. They really worked that hard to get noticed by them and represent us in world stage and I feel like they deserve their place here in the cup. It is just that Braeksan brings us a mixed bag to us, expecting to win much of it when in reality that only comes so far.

As for the players themselves, I'm going to let a 'seiyuu' do the analysts of them. If you want to find out more about these players, I am NOT the person you should be looking for. I'm only a fan writing about the latest news and gossip. So yeah. Until next time!

Home Away

Manager
Côfcarthor Undorina
Age: 1288
Failing to make the World Cup knockouts, Undorina knows that his time at the helm of the Marauders will be coming to an end at the end of the AOCAF. Will he be able to replicate the success that he found two years ago and win the regional trophy despite poor showings in the world stage or will it be a bit of a sputter of an ending for the once promising manager?

Assistant Manager
Parnornede Haedhen
Age: 1182
Partnering Undorina is Haedhen, who looks to be another technical minded manager who likes to continue the tradition of the technical attacking play that is both beautiful to watch but also quite efficient in dealing with a variety of opponents.

Keeper

1 Aediron Galadirdren, Ibini FC
Age - 691
Sex - M
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 174 lbs
Galadirdren looks to be the long term solution for the Marauders in net after several stellar seasons in the domestic scene with Ibini FC. While not loud and "in control" of his box, the keeper is very good when the opposition has a breakaway, as well as some amazing reflexes. His best attribute though is his near perfect position, always seeming to know where the opposition is going to place their shots or crosses.

Defenders

2 Morlaithan Aldamiel, AC Izotz Zubia Image
Age - 704
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 162 lbs
A tough and quiet sort at the back, more physical than your usual Vanorian centerback thanks to the years that he has played in Audioslavia. More of a stay at home defender than the rest of the backline and more prone the occasional card due to the more physical nature.

3 Rainyardil Toraandal, Avenida Principal Image
Age - 663
Sex - M
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 168 lbs
Toraandal is deceptively fast and agile for a person of his size and also very keen to get in on the attack during prolonged spells in the opponents third. With his size and pure athletic ability, he has a knack for getting open in the box and heading home his fair share of goals, though it is his stern defending that is the reason that he was put on to the starting eleven.

4 Revhil Lardireil, Hondo FC
Age - 662
Sex - M
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 171 lbs
Like Toraandal, Lardireil is used to getting into the attack, having spent the majority of his career at Hondo with their attacking flavor. However he has the speed of a cheetah and the strength of an elephant, most likely the most versatile of the three defenders that the side uses.

Midfield

21 Espy va Drake, 1830 Cathair Image
Age: 767
Sex - M
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 159 lbs
After becoming a folklore hero for the lower class of the world, va Drake has made himself one of the living legends of the game after help leading the side to a title in World Cup 53. He has traveled far and wide while plying his trade, donning kits for no less than five countries clubs. Seen as the driving force in the middle of the park alongside Hawk, it is up to the opposition to try and figure out how to deal with the brilliance the winger and his other attackers have rather than them to create magic.

6 Caeltimyonan Haerear, Mar Sara FC
Age - 622
Sex - M
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 163 lbs
Coming from Mar Sara you would expect Haerear to be more of an attacking option, yet the midfielder is more of a box to box playmaker than the attacking midfielders usually coming from the Flames. Not overly fast or physical but Haerear has a motor that never quits, never giving up on a play or a game despite how dire the situation may be.

10 Laborious Hawk, AC Izotz Zubia Image
Age - 731
Sex -M
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 213 lbs
Words do not even begin to define his talent, his talent defines words. He was awarded one of the spots that the Vanorians have in the World Cup Hall of Fame, with it being very well deserved, as he has and continues to earn everything he has been given every single day. Hawk simply strives to be the very best footballer, captain, and teammate that there can be, with the hunger for perfection driving him forth on and off the pitch.

8 Ilglerdiriel Lithvathar, Raynor City United
Age - 737
Sex - F
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 149 lbs
Lithvathar is much like va Drake, a floater who is dynamic in attack but with enough speed and sense of the pitch to make up on any sort of defensive lapse. Yet unlike her flankmate, she is not nearly as skilled, but do not let that fool you, in a moment of magic she can undress an entire backline and set up more prolific scorers with easy chances.

7 Faeron Soldarian, 1830 Cathair Image
Age - 645
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 163 lbs
Soldarian continues to live in the shadow of more well known players both on the national team and with his club. Despite this, Soldarian is seen by all on the squad as the emotional leader and the linchpin the in the middle that allows the more attacking minded midfielders being allowed to play their game.

Strikers

9 Allandren Fresco, Ibini FC
Age - 520
Sex - M
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 167 lbs
Fresco continues to lead the line of the attack, being the tip of the spear that is the Marauders offensive movement. By now most teams know of the striker's pace and near laser guided shot, however the striker still somehow finds ways to bring in the goals.

11 Galasgoldas Tathtauré, OAS Royal FC Image
Age - 602
Sex - M
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 157 lbs
A more finesse striker than what Fresco is used to being paired with, Tathtauré has the speed to run past opponents with plenty of dribbling skill to work around multiple defenders. While not as strong as Celetholtinu was, Galasgoldas can still play a hold up role in a pinch.

((OOC: no idea if I'll have time to put together a proper roster for this one; busy week lined up unfortunately... but this should be enough for anyone to RP my players well I think))

Osarius Roster for AOCAF LIV

Manager: Brent Steele
Asst Manager: Adam McBride

Following the resignation of Ayanna Barca-Carthy, after another disappointing World Cup campaign for the Firebirds, former Osarius U21 captain Brent Steele has stepped in to take charge on what is expected to be a temporary basis. A no-nonsense centre back in his playing days, Steele has drafted in the cerebral giant goalkeeper Adam McBride -- also known as Osarius' perpetual backup goalkeeper -- as his assistant, as the latter embarks on a career in management.

The Squad

No. Pos. Player Name Current Club
#01 GK SHELLY-ANN Pearce [OSR] AFC Hollybrent
#02 RCB George SIMPSON [OSR] Burningham City
#03 LB George DAWSON [OSR] Firewood City
#04 CM Carmen GRANA [OSR] Utica United
#05 CB Sarah WARD [COS] Crawford City
#06 CB Peter COLE [OSR] Trothwands Evolution
#07 WNG Kyron BARTLEY [NPH] Brinemouth
#08 CM Jorge ESTEVEZ [OSR] Qubadili FC
#09 ST Koren UDOWU [VIL] Marine Coast United
#10 AM Lloyd ALLEN [OSR] Firewood City
#11 LW Raimondo MONTANARI [VIL] Jungle Strike FC
#12 GK Graziella PELLEGRINI [OSR] Alissar Phoenix
#14 FW James WARWICK [OSR] AFC Hollybrent
#15 RB Isaac SAUNDERS [OSR] Hastmead Diamante
#16 CM Duane BARNES [OSR] Dynapolis United
#17 RCB Sebastian JOHNSON [OSR] Hastmead Diamante
#18 CM Adrian ALEJANDRO [OSR] Greeningham City
#19 FB Luke ROBINSON [OSR] Cartagena Desert Foxes
#20 CM Evelyn McINTOSH [OSR] Hastmead Diamante
#21 DM Dylan WOOD [OSR] Real Jraxville
#22 CF Simeon TUCKER [OSR] Burningham City
#23 AM Gustavo BARONE [OSR] AFC Hollybrent
#24 GK Emily HENDERSON [QAS] Real Qad City (loan)

Starting XI: Shelly-Ann; Dawson, Ward, Cole, Simpson; Grana/McIntosh, Estevez (c), McIntosh/Allen; Montanari, Udowu, Bartley

RP permissions are pretty much anything goes. Just don't kill my players/staff or seriously injure anyone without checking, please.

Here are some notes if you want, though...

Notes:
  • Steele likes to change systems mid-match. The players aren't always entirely comfortable with this; run with it.
  • Udowu misses a lot of relatively easy chances, but scores the ones you'd expect most forwards to miss. Expect him to be top scorer.
  • Allen is a criminally underappreciated midfield genius, but injury prone. Feel free to injure him (up to maybe a month or so)
  • Estevez is the complete midfielder, basically Arturo Vidal
  • Try to include McIntosh a lot. She's supposed to be the next big thing, sort of
  • Tucker's main upside is that he's big, strong and fast. Almost zero team awareness though, and not a great finisher

Common subs:
  • Barone/Tucker (when behind; change to 4-1-2-3 or 4-4-2 respectively)
  • Wood (to see out a game if leading)
  • Alejandro/Barnes (when losing the midfield battle; sub in for Dawson, change to 3-4-3)
  • Warwick (for any forward; no particular reason)
Monarch: Alexander III | First Minister: Mathieu Lupin | Population: ~125 million | Capital: Burningham, Mount Crown
Civilisation Index: 13.43 • Tier 7, Level 2, Type 5
Current Project(s): a discord scorination bot, and a football manager knock-off

:: Pre-Matchday 1 RP Challenge ::

Everybody loves getting a postcard... right? Postcards used to be popular in Atlantian Oceania but now they seem hard to come by. Many visitors to Tropicorp for AOCAF LIVe may be sending a Postcard from Tropicorp back to their loved ones. Tropicorp residents themselves love collecting postcards from their travels - and you may find some locals setting up booths for "Postcard Trading". What Postcards does your nation have to offer? If someone were traveling to your nation, what would they be sending back?

Post a picture of a Postcard that would be found in your nation. Additionally; or; as an alternative, write what someone would put on the back of that postcard to describe their time in either your nation, or Tropicorp.

See the "Postcards!" thread on the AO Forum for some inspiration. Double posting your creations here and in the AO Forum thread is encouraged!

-----------------------------

Also a reminder of the Roster Challenge: Include on your Roster at least one player who either plays in another AO Nation (or, has a story of historical lineage to another AO Nationality)

Good Luck! And may the best team win! Well, of course they will be the best if they win so thats kind of a silly statement...

SULTANATE OF OONTAZ DERT LI NG
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL TEAM

This is the second time that Oontaz Dert Li Ng will be participating in the World Cup qualifiers. Oontaz got through undefeated in the group stage of the Baptism of Fire 61 but was knocked out in the round of 16 by Arioslavia. The nation is a mix of Muslims and Catholics, with the Mohammedans concentrated in the northern part of the country and the Christians living mostly in the southern islands. Despite a turbulent early history which saw both religious groups fighting constant wars and rebellions, by the time Abanhfleft came and "occupied" the nation in 1921, a general "peace" had settled between the two groups, and today both are content to consider each other as Oontazniks. Despite being a sultanate, the freedom of religion is valued by the nation, although it would be good advice to say that while the Catholics and Christians might be welcoming, even accommodating, to foreigners of strange new religions, the Muslims might not be so welcoming.

BASIC INFORMATION
Name of nation: Sultanate of Oontaz Dert Li Ng
Demonym: Oontaznik
Team colors: Green and white
Style modifier: -2.0 (Defensive this time around)
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Head coach: Juan Dominador "Ador" Macaspac (39 y/o, Oontaz Dert Li Ng)

STARTERS
GK: Karim ANSARIFARID 33 y/o, Pasargad Manitogoro Image, captain
In the old days, Karim Ansarifarid was Mr. Oontaz. These were the days when Karim was the first choice keeper of Riuwiee United and Georges Leblanc. And then Karim was surprisingly sold back to his old Oontaznik club Pasargad Manitogoro and while Karim's goalkeeping skills didn't diminish, going back to his homeland seemed to have made Emir Usamah (the old manager of the team) forget all about Karim and his contributions to the Oontaznik national team during their historic run to the Coalition Cup (an informal tournament held between the national teams of Abanhfleft, Pridnestrovia, Oontaz, and Copper Cuprum). Following Oontaz's (unsurprising) exit in the Round of 16 of AOCAF 52 to Osarius, Ador Macaspac remembered that Karim still exists and called him back up to the squad.

RB: Marcus Oliver "Marco" PORTENCIO 23 y/o, Electric Yugal Image (Abanhfleft)
Marco Portencio is one of the new faces on the Oontaznik national football team following the sacking of Emir Usamah and the elevation of Ador Macaspac from star striker to new team manager. Marco is a quality right back who is already showing flashes of world-class brilliance, kind of like a cheap Oontaznik version of Hector Bellerin. He has pace in buckets, and he is also good for scoring a goal or two per season.

RCB: Makhdoum MACARAIG 35 y/o, Locomotive Imgortur Image (Abanhfleft)
Decent Oontaznik center backs can be hard to find, especially decent Oontaznik center backs in their early 30s or so, because in their day, attack was favored very highly over defense in the Oontaznik leagues, and therefore few 30-years-old-or-so Oontaznik defenders are actually any good at defending. Makhdoum Macaraig is one of those few rare defenders. His slow speed and ponderous build meant that he was never really suited to be anywhere near an attacking role, but that hasn't stopped him from having a good career at Abanhfleft's Locomotive Imgortur, which plays in the Fleftic Premier League. Perhaps there really are players who were meant to play in one league and not any other league.

LCB: Honesto CAMPANILLA 27 y/o, Gryphons Nubalochi Image
Sometimes it is lamentable that in a competition where experience and leadership would be most valuable in a back line, all that could be scraped up was a single slow defender who somehow made it big in Abanhfleft's top flight, and a bunch of young talent that could make it or break it at any day. Campanilla, or Estong as he likes to be called, has slightly more potential than the other defenders in the team, and he also has a slightly higher chance of being an actually good player than the others. Sure, he slide-tackles at every opportunity, and it is easy for an experienced forward or even midfielder to get him booked, but Estong only has to learn to not swing himself around like a mace and he could make it big like his big partner in the center, Makhdoum Macaraig.

LB: Martin OPULENCIA 24 y/o, Real Mikkaleth Image (Abanhfleft)
Another new face from Ador Macaspac's new look Oontaznik team. Martin is a resolute left back who doesn't shrink away from making any challenges, even against players normally acknowledged as "untouchable" by other teams' defenses. He is content to remain at the back, defending his goal when needed, but sometimes he might be commanded to come up for an attack, and he doesn't shrink away from scoring a goal or two per season either.

DM: Timothy SAN MARCELINO 28 y/o, General Santos FC Image
Of course it wouldn't be a real Oontaznik football team if a Santos player wasn't there. And in this part of the team, it looks as if Emir Usamah has finally assembled a team capable of making it through the World Cup qualifiers with at least a few draws and maybe a win or two. SanMar, as he's called by Oontaz fans, is, as his position states, a defensive midfielder, meaning that his main purpose is to break up any attacks attempted by the opponents before they reach the pitiful defense and the sadly shocking goalkeeper. It's a job that he does well enough that he's earned a starting spot in the most prestigious team in Oontaz Dert Li Ng.

CM: ABU NAYEF Ismailuddin 28 y/o, Pasargad Manitogoro Image
No one really thought much of Abu Nayef's inclusion to the national team since he was one of those players who was good enough in the league to get a spot in the national team, but not good enough to get a starting spot. But he's starting to earn a spot in Emir Usamah's team sheet, since he's turned out to be one of the surprise players of Oontaz's World Cup qualifying campaign. By now, he's a shoo-in for a spot on the bench, and if the going gets tough, he can handle a starting spot.
IMPORTANT: This player should be always referred to as Abu Nayef since Ismailuddin is a patronym.

RM: Haider ZULFIKAR 30 y/o, Riuwiee United Image (Abanhfleft)
Sometimes it can be such a shame when a good and promising player like Zulfikar ends up rotting on the bench, being unable to help his team even though he knows that he just might be the final piece of the puzzle that rescues a league campaign gone horribly wrong. Zulfikar was a member of the infamous Riuwiee United team that blew an eight-point lead at the summit of the Fleftic Premier League and turned it into an insurmountable five-point gap between first and third, where the Blue Tribesmen ended up to allow their rivals Arsenal de Releinthi to claim the title. Now, with the likes of Shinji Ikeda and Hamengkubuwono sold off or relegated to the bench, Zulfikar now has to show that he could be the change that Riuwiee and Oontaz Dert Li Ng needs.

CAM: Karimabdul DIMAINTINDIHAN 29 y/o, Thereisnogodistan FC Image (playing in the Fleftic Premier League)
Karimabdul became a rising star within both Abanhfleft and Oontaz when he scored a number of brilliant goals for Thereisnogodistan in the now-defunct Multiverse Premier League. His stock only rose up even further with his contributions to helping Thereisnogodistan get promoted to the Fleftic Premier League. He is the playmaking kind of attacking midfielder, setting up his teammates in scoring positions and holding up the ball if necessary. If he has a weakness, though, it's that sometimes he waits until he's crowded by the defense before making a pass. He's also making his first appearance for the national team since Magomedun Mangudadatu broke his leg in three places in an undislosed accident outside of the pitch.

LM: ZULFIQLI bin Alisher 27 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi Image (Abanhfleft)
Sometimes, there comes a time that a team becomes so full of talent in the midfield that someone has to be dropped for the sake of the other players. Zulfiqli was... someone who had this happen to him. Everyone knows of Godric Wexler's reputation for finding and producing world class players from relative unknowns. He had done much the same with Zulfiqli, but unfortunately for the Oontaznik, his quality only appeared when Wexler had finally fixed his problems in his midfield. He knew that Zulfiqli would need starting minutes if he was to keep his spot in the starting eleven of the Oontaz national team, and that's why he was loaned to Pridnestrovia's Union Rheinburg. And now Zulfiqli's a vital component to the Eisern Union's surprise title challenge in the Pridnestrovian Super League.
IMPORTANT: This player should always be referred to as Zulfiqli since bin Alisher is a patronym.

FW: GODZILLA 31 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi Image (Abanhfleft)
Full name Zito Leandro Gomes de Araujo. Godzilla got his nickname because of his spinal vertebrae sticking right through his skin, giving him the appearance of being the legendary kaiju, at least in terms of the dorsal spines. Godzilla (the player) is actually quite short for a forward, but that only means that he's got a low center of gravity which makes it difficult for the opposition to tackle him unless they really commit to it in which case it often results in a yellow or a red card. Godzilla used to be a fixture in the Oontaznik national team and this was the reason why Godric Wexler picked him up for Arsenal but both Godzilla and Arsenal were going through a rough patch when Emir Usamah was assembling his World Cup qualifying team and he didn't even give Godzilla the time of day then. But now that Ador Macaspac is managing the team, he's bringing back his old teammates for a renewed push at the AOCAF title.

RESERVES
GK: Septimio BARRANQUILLANO 31 y/o, Botafogo de Maranao Image, vice-captain
Maranao is renowned in Oontaz as being one of the best football academies, if not the best, in the country. It also has a reputation of producing good goalkeepers from its ranks. Unfortunately, Septimio is not one of those good keepers. Sure, he's decent, and can pull off a save that could be considered world-class, but for all intents and purposes, if he really was one of the good keepers, he would not be playing in Oontaz anymore, especially not for a mid-table side like Botafogo.

GK: Usamah ROBERTS-INGLES 23 y/o, Botafogo de Maranao Image
At least Botafogo's goalkeeper academy produced another good one. Unfortunately for him, he's both too young to be the national team's starting keeper, and he's also the son of a marriage between an Oontaznik and a foreigner, so discrimination is coming into play in here. But not by much, because he's so good and the other keepers are so... crap that Emir Usamah had no choice but to call him up even though both of them know that goalie Usamah won't get to play while Emir Usamah's the manager.

DEF: Alimuddin DIMAGIBA 34 y/o, Deportivo Mangudadatu Image
Alimuddin is probably the only reason why Deportivo Mangudadatu is still in the National League even though the team is basically relegation material. He's the only player on that team who looks like he still gives a f--- if the team wins or loses. All of the other players around him is his club look like they don't even care anymore, and it's a wonder why he hasn't asked to be transferred to another team. Maybe because he knows that only Mangudadatu's rivals, Racing Al-Ampatuan, would be willing to buy him for the inflated price that he knows that Deportivo will attach to him. If he has any fault in him, it's that he's too loyal to something and would not, could not let go even given time.

DEF: Zenofilo BATOBALANI 28 y/o, Racing Al-Ampatuan Image
It's not a real Oontaznik national football team if there isn't any player from Racing Al-Ampatuan in the roster, and Batobalani fits that role nicely. Al-Ampatuan used to be one of the biggest teams in Oontaz, constantly competing with Santos and Botafogo for titles and cups, but lately they've been on a bit of a decline, and now they're considered relegation fodder just like their traditional rivals, Deportivo Mangudadatu. Batobalani once had a future of being one of the greatest Oontaznik defenders of all time, and not just the present time but of all time. But instead of moving on to more prestigious teams and letting his talent get noticed, he decided to stick it out with the constant relegation scraps between Mangudadatu and Al-Ampatuan. Perhaps it would be prudent not to mention the loaded contract that he was given by the team owners, who have been accused of masterminding one of the greatest massacres in recent history, and also one of the biggest benefactors of the nation's endemic corruption culture...

DEF: Albert James DIMACATARUNGAN 30 y/o, Gryphons Nubalochi Image
Dimacatarungan's surname means "unfair" in the Mayin language, but this time, there's nothing unfair about his being on the bench. Dimacatarungan shouldn't even be anywhere near the Oontaz national team, but since he's a member of Clan Dimacatarungan, he gets a spot in the final roster. At least Emir Usamah isn't stupid enough to choose him over Estong Campanilla who, as said before, has, at least, a definite chance of becoming an actual quality player instead of Dimacatarungan, who is just plain shit. Strange to see him still in the team now that Emir Usamah is gone...

DEF: Jericson SARIMANOK 24 y/o, Gryphons Nubalochi Image
Gryphons are currently the team with the best defense in the Oontaz National League, so it's actually no surprise that a lot of their defenders have been called up for national duty. What is surprising is that Jericson is not playing with the starting eleven and is instead languishing on the bench with the rest of the reserves. Oh, wait; there is a logical explanation for this: Oontaznik clan politicking. Emir Usamah does have to balance clan politics with creating the best Oontaznik team there is, and Jericson was just one sacrifice in many on the altar of clan politics.

MID: Ronson "Ronnie" RAMIREZ 26 y/o, Revanigruud Riversharks Image (Cosumar)
Georges Leblanc spent 5 million new penenks to get Ramirez from Real Altamarino to the May 26 Memorial, but it seems a little bit too soon to say if he's had any impact in the Blue Tribesmen, and Leblanc has seen it fit to loan Ramirez out to Real Mikkaleth, who will be making to make yet another promotion push next season. Ronnie is more of a winger than a proper midfielder, but since Oontazniks never really believed in investing in proper wingers, Ronnie can fill in for that central midfield role, but not as well as when he's deployed as a real winger. Still, at least he's got a chance of breaking through and becoming a good and decent player, unlike the majority of the rest of his teammates.

MID: Macario "Mac-Mac" CORTES 27 y/o, Sporting Ceneisis Image (Abanhfleft)
Yet another promising Oontaznik youngster lured away from his home by the prestige and glamour of the Fleftic Premier League. The good thing is that Emir Usamah is setting up the team for the future, meaning that he's getting the most promising young Oontaznik players and getting them playing time with the senior team, which he knows will eventually be replaced by the youngsters once the veteran players grow old and retire. At least his reasons for being on the bench are much more justified than the others: he's still a little bit too young to be playing in the first team, and Magomedun Mangudadatu is still the best in the game in his position as CAM, which is also Mac-Mac's favored playing position. At least he gets to learn from one of the best.

MID: Josef "Joey Boy" MACALACAN 30 y/o, Union Rheinburg Image (Pridnestrovia)
Joey Boy is the classic box-to-box midfielder, balancing offensive and defensive duties and covering as much of the pitch as possible. Unfortunately, he has a tendency to focus on one specific duty for too long, and by the duty he could mentally shift himself from being an attacking player to a defensive player or vice versa, it's often too late, and the defense had been overrun by a competent opponent.

FW: Uziel Gal TZA'EER 33 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi Image (Abanhfleft)
Another one of the old breed of Oontaznik players who were overlooked by Emir Usamah during the Sultanate's first foray into the World Cup due to clan commitments. Another reason why Uzi Tza'eer (named after the man who created the Uzi SMG) was not called up to the Oontaznik national team was because he was at the time going through a very poor run of form (12 consecutive games without scoring a goal) and Emir Usamah understandably didn't want to risk Uzi remaining cold in the Baptism of Fire and the World Cup. But now that he's back among the goals once again, Ador Macaspac is ready to give Uzi a way back into the national team.

FW: Oren YA'AKOVI 36 y/o, Riuwiee United Image (Abanhfleft)
Legend has it that Oren Ya'akovi's self-confidence is exceeded only by that of the likes of the famous (or infamous if you want to look at it that way) Timo Skye. It doesn't help that Oren Ya'akovi looks almost exactly like Timo Skye. It's as if someone cloned Timo Skye and managed to get the looks right but not exactly the talent itself. Nevertheless, Oren is a good enough footballer that he managed to make it into a stacked Riuwiee United side and is still carrying the Blue Tribesmen after almost a decade of faithful service and he's finally making his way back to the national team as well thanks to compatriot and fellow member of the "Oontaznik golden generation" Ador Macaspac.

FW: Eduardo ESTEVEZ 27 y/o, FK Torpedo Telgrad Image (Arioslavia)
Eduardo is a decent striker for his age, and there's definitely room for him to grow and take up Ador Macaspac's mantle when Oontaz Dert Li Ng's star striker finally decides to hang up his boots. But it looks like this won't be the case, as Teofisto Abcede surprised everyone else and took over Estevez's spot as Macaspac's backup striker option. Still, there's no denying that Eduardo can become one of Oontaz's best strikers after the age of Dominador Macaspac draws to a close, but it's up to him to realize that potential. Santos FC sold him to Arioslavia's FK Torpedo Telgrad in exchange for Alexey Bulganin. Now starting in place of the retired Ador Macaspac, who has become the new team manager after Emir Usamah was sacked.

\Sport-Mitei\ ~ Reported by true sports fans, EVERY WEEK!

A Look Into Braeskan's Younghearts (and Hidden Gems)

Image

With Marcus Braeskan bringing up new fresh youths and hidden gems to his national side (and leaving out experienced ones), many fans and pundits are looking into them to see if they deserved making it to the squad. They are looking at their stats as well as their performance in their previous seasons. Sport-Mitei would like to bring an insight to footballers who make it to the main roster.

Kunischer 'Kumi' Munschell

Image

Age: 16 years old
Birthplace: Craigavon, Tempesta Prefecture
Current Club: Richal Sports Academy
Position: Left Striker/Striker
Goals: 20
Assists: 11
Player of the Match: 5

We are starting off with one of the youngest players to be in the national team, and the most controversial in terms of her age. Kunischer Munschell is a prodigy with a shy personality as she has a tendency to almost faint when she committed a foul or missed a penalty. Despite these problems, Munschell has scored an impressive 20 goals and provided 11 assists with the Richal Sports Academy. Her known skill is to keep track with the foward position to make sure she doesn't get left behind. A good asset to an addition to the attacking line.

Many people have complained that she is far too young to represent the country at an international level and she would be exposed to dangers while playing in Tropicorp. To ensure her safety, the Komarovian Imperial Football Association had requested Braeskan to take care of her during the AOCAF. It seemed unbelievably strange as no national football association has ever told someone to take care of a young player. Surprisingly (and weirdly enough), Munschell refused to do this, saying she can take care by her own since she gets used to without adult supervision. Munschell isn't the only player to get a treatment like that, as the next one shows............

Iroha ven Holden

Image

Age: 16 years old
Birthplace: Yurko-upon-Gaines, Kometa Prefecture
Current Club: Richal Sports Academy
Position: Center Back
Goals: 6
Assists: 2
Player of the Match: 3

Center Back ven Holden is quite tough for her young age and puts enough force to get the ball out of the danger zone. Both her tackling and strength are the big point to the defending line. In times where a striker is difficult to be pushed off the ball, ven Holden does that to clear the ball away. Her marking skills are above average at best. Sometimes she can predict where the ball passes to and steal it successfully while in other situation it isn't entirely accurate as such. Still, given by her super strength and her tackling abilities, ven Holden is a nice defender. All she needed to do now is to work on other abilities so she doesn't need to rely on brawn alone.

Like Munschell, her age is one of the points of controversy of players under 16 or below representing the Vocaloid Army. Unlike her, though, she needed someone to take care of her since her parents won't allow her until she is about 18 years old. This means that Munschell and ven Holden will most likely to stick together, according to Braeskan himself.

Ethan Kreis

Image

Age: 20 years old
Birthplace: Melchester, Brandenburg Prefecture
Current Club: Fujitsu Mariners
Position: Attacking Midfielder
Goals: 26
Assists: 22
Player of the Match: 8

Kreis is a midfielding master in terms of his finishing ability and his agility. Kreis can pull off a goal with his excellent athletism and find ways to score, whether be it in places where defenders are coming against him or when there is a position guarded by someone. He can also create chances for the fowards by finding where it is suitable for the ball to land on his teammates without interceptions. Kreis's leadership skills, as well as giving out instructions to his players, makes him an a great replace to Tsung Nam-Kan, should he ever retired from international football.

With 26 goals and 22 assists, he has been phenomenal this season. Fans started to admire him as one of the best rookie players to ever grace the game. As a fan favourite, he is certainly the player to be watched by thousands of fans.

Minemaru Tsujimoto

Image

Age: 22 years old
Birthplace: Kurikumo, Kometa Prefecture
Current Club: Hovenden Valkyries
Position: Defensive Midfielder/Central Attacking Midfielder
Goals: 8
Assists: 4
Player of the Match: 2

One of three players picked by Braeskan, Tsujimoto mostly relies on dribbling with the ball and crossing to provide header opportunities. Looking at his peformances last season, he has shown to pull out brilliant skill moves and humiliate his opponents with plenty amount of nutmegs and balls going over the top. Tsujimoto isn't really a good finisher, however, so scoring goals isn't one of his best moves. He does have a lot of stamina, though, so he can play hard as much he wanted to, providing that he doesn't over do it.

Tsujimoto once played internationally for a few matches before retiring to finish his college degree on computer engineering and resuming to play football. This means he has some form of experience at international level. Braeskan believes that much of his abilities gives the midfield much more diverse than the previous edition's squad.

Tyler Pryding

Image

Age: 24 years old
Birthplace: Trembley, Faria's Blade Prefecture
Current Club: Redbridge Chiefs
Position: Central Defensive Midfielder/Central Midfielder
Goals: 5
Assists: 5
Player of the Match: 6

Judging from his performance last season with the Chiefs, Pryding is able to use his defensive abilities to secure both midfield and defence. He can go defensive and aid in the center backs or he can go in midfield to make plays along with other of his midfielders. Pryding can also deliever the ball between them and handles the ball quite well. His aerial moves can also be his strong points as he can jump higher to clear the ball away from a corner or a cross-in.

One of the more notable things about him is his happy-go-lucky personality. He doesn't get furious so easily and is always on a good mood, even in situations when they are losing or at the center of getting kicked out of the competition. Pryding once told the media that his mood can range from being happy to being disappointed. He is very happy that he gets his chance to be playing alongside veterans such as Nam-Kan, the Minase twins and Megurine.

David Selhurst

Image

Age: 23 years old
Birthplace: Randeck County, Verstadt Prefecture
Current Club: FC United of Lena-Darlington
Position: Goalkeeper
Clean Sheets: 64
Save Success Rate: 0.867
Player of the Match: 1

Out of all keepers that are started in bench, Selhurst is quite a terrifying keeper to beat. He can rush foward to clear the ball away and handles the ball nicely when he catches it. In fact, in almost all of the matches in last season, he catches more than he saves. His SSR (Save Success Rate) of 0.867 makes him a wonderful keeper when tactical subsitution is neccessarily needed.

But what really shines him is his penalty-saving skills. Calm-and-collected, combined with his reflexes and his focus, just shows that times of a penalty shootout or just a penalty duing game, it seems to be a piece of cake for Selhurst.

There we have it! An insight to various footballers in the national squad. There are also other players that make it to the list such as hardman Randall Keith, speedy striker Kyon Amestov and playmaker and super sub David Morgan. However, the six of them are the most notable to be given an extensive detail. With countries like veterans' Royal Kingdom of Quebec and Consumar and minnows Demot, it can be frustrating to advance to the Round of 16 though fans should see if they perform well under him. So get ready for the start of Matchday 1, against Quebec! See you in the next news!

Blackmont National Football Team

Image

Blackmont is a country in Atlantian Oceania that is known for modern day feudalism, being small and concentrated into a few areas, and for its unique culture and history. The country is an autonomous territory of Rushmore's Gallian Union, but before that, it was a colony of the Union, which brought Blackmont through its dark ages and brought order to the country's chaotic political scene. Now, the Union has backed off, and most of the country's one million citizens live in Blackmont City, or in the northern city of Red Mountain. The country is made of four different Duchies, ruled by House Baine, House Mundell, House Mossman, and House Adair. Currently, the reigning King of Blackmont is Riley the III of House Mundell. The Blackmont Royal Football League is semi professional, but several players on the squad have gotten enough recognition to play for professional teams in the Gallian Union. Notably, some of the players are members of the nobility, and they are the focal point of the team.

Match Update - Qasden V Lisander

With another cycle done, Qasden must now renew its hopes and dreams as they compete in the 54th AOCAF tournament. From Valanora to 95X to Chromatika, this old regional tournament will have TQ pay a visit for the fourth time, looking to make it past any sort of play-in round while in the relative area of Tropicorp. Drawn into Group D, Qasden must duke it out with some of AO's greatest in the Cocoabo Zone, that being in the Forest, Turori, and a smidge of Vilita. While bigger games are soon to come, the Vans must work their way up as they take on a peppy unranked team in their opener.

Team Lisander, led by Coach, Andreas Fox, is looking to make a splash in AO as the team refounds its newborn passion of association football. The, uh, Shammies? There's a couple of players from Shamrocks FC, so I think we'll just call them the Shammies. Anyways, the Lisander Shammies were first debuted way back when at the 51st Baptism of Fire. After a narrow defeat in the group stages there, we didn't see much things from them up until very recently when the crew signed up for the World Cup 78 Qualifiers, where they again came short of striking oil. Despite this, the team is a determined bunch of fellows, looking to give soccer a presence in a rugby-driven society.

While not nearly as old as the original Shammies, Team Qasden has made little yet powerful seismic waves in the sporting multiverse. Since debuting in AOCAF 51, a tournament they sucked coconuts at, the Vans have seen major improvements in both the regional and WCC tournaments. During their second set of qualifiers, which ended after a Semarland team returned from the dead and smacked both the Tumbran and Qad teams away, TQ shocked the world after taking narrow wins over names such as Barunia and Turori to win the 69th Cup of Harmony in Cosumar and Ethane, an appalling yet astonishing feat for the orginization. After getting eclipsed by Port Christopher in the narrowest of qualifiers at 78, Qasden again went on in the Cup of Harmony to stun and dominate, taking the big W by force over footballing superpower, Nephara, achieving a B2B title status not seen since Newmanistan's accomplishment.

Both teams, fueled by youthful determination, act as the middle ground in Tropicorp, as they're decent yet beatable foes. The Harston Chronicles calls it the "Clash of Dashers", noting both sides' focus on offense and speed. Manager Sols also sees this as an interesting matchup.".

"The Lisander team have a wide array of young yet experienced players that could easily foil our intentions with a switch of the play. Merritt and Fox appear to have a few common grounds when it comes to strategy, so it really comes down to the players and what they're told to do. Looking at the rest of the group, I'd say these two teams are amongst the special list of entrants that could stay or leave all depending on the result of their game with each other. Whatever we see in Turori will be a keynote in the fate of Group D.".

According to a poll sent out by the QAFA Fan Club, 60% of Qads are firm in their belief that the Qads will prevail, while 25% believe the game could go either way and 15% saying Lisander has the upper hand.

However this game goes, it will be one to watch for sure. Make sure to watch the match tomorrow on QADAN1, and don't forget to follow QADANS on social media. Stay tuned, stay updated, and stay chirped up for the colorful opener of AOCAF LIVe!

The Rookies

Image

Part Nine. In which the gang plans to get back together.

“We just clash too much, man. We’re both alpha personalities. You said it yourself when you said that time that I’m the one who wants to take all of the shots, and I’m never going to back down form it. And you just draw too much attention for us to coexist,” says Niko Komarov, talking with Artem Delacruz as the Bojikstani national team makes their way to the airport to fly back home after their back to back losses to end the Independents Cup. “I’d rather stay in Odena over the offseason, or take a trip out west.”

“It’s just not going to be the same without you, though. You would love Blackmont, too. It’s an upper class place, or at least the part of it that we’re staying at is. There’s a lot of inequality, but James owns a place in the same district as the royals-”

“I know, I know. He’s my agent, after all, and he’s offered it to me in the past. I don’t think I can go with you for now, though. Hasn’t been long enough since we had our disagreements.”

“So what, there’s bad blood between us now?”

“No. Not what I said-”

“Than what are you saying?”

“I’m just saying that we could both use some space, and we probably shouldn’t spend too much more time living in the same place. We just had international duty, give it a bit and we’ll talk.”

“We aren’t leaving for another month or two.”

Niko stops, trailing behind the rest of the group and standing with just Artem, his arms folded. “Why do you care, man? Don’t you have everyone else in the group coming? Lucas, Rain, Mara, Ricardo. Why do I have to come, too? It wasn’t long ago that you were ready to fight me in the middle of a match.”

“Because there’s not any reason for us to be against each other. I don’t know what you mean when you say that we both have alpha personalities… I try to get along with everyone. You included,” Artem says, with a shrug. “Whatever pissed you off, you noticed it and I didn’t.”

“Are you fucking winding me up?”

“No! I’m looking for an explanation!”

“Well, you could say it’s because you’re the most powerful person in the room, no matter what room you’re in. You just draw the most attention, whether you know it or not. And I’d rather avoid people like you. People that take all of the attention for themselves and leave none of it for anyone else.”

“That’s not my intent. It’s never my intent, and you know it-”

“But it’s what happens.”

Artem follows Niko as he starts to walk away, switching approaches. “You know Rain is going to be there. Don’t you want to come for her? You said you wanted to impress her, and this is a time when you can talk to her without the pressure of playing for the national team. Your other friend, Lucas, is coming too. I just want the whole group to be together when we take this trip. And whatever you think of me, you’re still part of that group, and I still think you’re a friend to me. You’re someone that I try to learn from, at least.”

“Fine, fine,” sighs Niko, holding his hands up in concession. “I’ll see what happens. But can I bring my friend Liv and her sister? I had some plans to train with them in the offseason.”

“Sure, there should be extra rooms. By Liv, you mean Liv Andrade?”

“Yeah. She reminds me of myself, to be honest. I promised I would help her along, career wise. It’s not easy being a twenty year old at FC Strasburg, that’s looking for a move abroad, you know. I said we’d do some workouts and go over a few destinations and moves that she can make.”

Artem raises an eyebrow. “I never imagined you having a real friendship with a female. I thought of you as more of a player.”

“Eh? You must not know that my older sister was my best friend growing up,” Niko shrugs, before picking up his pace.

“I didn’t mean to offend, I was just saying. Honestly, I wish I had your talent with girls. Not that I need a ton of help, but you always seem more confident. You have more charisma-”

“Charisma is bullshit, Artem. I don’t have charisma. I just act like I’ve been there before, and that goes for everything. Once you realize how far that can carry you, you’re going to do a lot better. In love, and football.”

They catch up with the others at that point, and Rain pulls Artem aside as they wait to get on the plane. “You and Niko are finally talking again?” she asks, sounding genuinely curious. “That took longer than I was expecting. What did you have to do to get him to talk?”

“Really, I don’t know. But he’s coming with us to Blackmont. He’s also bringing Liv and Catia Andrade.”

“He was hitting on me before, now he’s with Andrade?”

“She’s apparently just a friend of his that he’s helping out, because of how rough her career has been lately. I know, I thought it was weird too. But it looks like there’s more to Niko than either of us knows. I said it was weird to see him being friends with a female, and he said his best friend growing up was his older sister.”

“I didn’t know he had a sister.”

“Well, maybe we’ll learn more about him while we’re in Blackmont a month from now.”

“Yeah… I’m looking forward to having the whole group together again.”

As the Sultanate of Oontaz is made up of two distinct regions, the Oontaznik Peninsula and the Mayin Islands, there are different postcards for both regions.

Here is a postcard from the Oontaznik Peninsula:

And here is a postcard from the Mayin Islands:

Some would say that the Mayin postcard is just a joke postcard, though....

'And that is why I bring them here', told Braeskan to the member of Komarovian Imperial Football Association. 'By now they could be a superstars in a forseeable future. It's not about keeping experienced veterans and expect them to keep up with form. Rather, it's about picking up underrated players and fresh talented youths to the main roster and use it to an extent that they become just as professional as the previous edition's squad.'

The member isn't sure if Braeskan's desicion to promote youngsters and take hidden gems to the international side is a right way. He wants a complete overhaul after a disasterous charity cup game, yet he doesn't think that they can be good enough to advance to the Round of 16. 'I like what you did here, sir', replied the member. 'But are you sure we can win games with these players? For one thing, you bring up both 16 year olds to represent the country. Surely they are far too young to play football.'

'Yes, I know that. But Kumi is an excellent prodigy. Keeping up with other players to give an edge to our offensive game. And Iroha's strength improves our defence nicely', responded Braeskan.

'And what about Kreis?'

'He's really the next Nam-Kan. All the fans are wild on him. Last week, I heard of one Mariners fan saying that he witness an amazing volley on a keeper. Kreis is going to be a legendary player soon, racking up goals everyday.'

'As for the others?'

'Underrated footballers that never got recognized by the mainstream fans. End of story.'

Braeskan and the KIFA member later end their discussion, as he has an important call from President Nagata. The member stood up quickly from the black chair and leave, but not before he said something about meeting with Nagata. As he leaves his office, Braeskan takes his last sip of milk coffee before it runs out. After that, he surfs into the internet to look out for the latest football news. It is all full of gossips in the transfer windows, drama between teammates and sackings and resignation of managers, presumably due to a bad performance. There are even full of the latest results in football leagues as it just started a few weeks ago.

As much as he is concerned about his national side, he hopes that the group stage won't be very harsh to him. Who knows that if the group that he faced is hell (in other words, the gorup of death)? He may be right, but he may also be wrong as well because luck may be on his side throughout the campaign.
