Star of Hope, by Sofia Liszm

To The Tune Of Prisluhni Mi By Darja Švajger

Sofia Liszm is a Savieran Singer. Her Fans are Called Sofia-Liszts. For the WorldVision Performance, She is Wearing a Glorious Golden Dress with a Glorious Golden Headpiece. The Stage is Dark, and the Song Began. We Can See Sofia.

Listen to me, for I have found the way
The answer’s found, we now have it today
I have been searching for it and now here I stand
Englightened

Many seas we must have to pass by
We’ll, at the end, be glorified
We’ll be the gold among the red, for we all have been lead
By this star, guiding light

A Golden Star Appeared in the Background.

Now I can see
This light will guide us free
Star of love, star of glory, star of hope

And now I know
That we all must follow
Star of love, star of glory, star of hope

After we have shed our blood
To work towards the end goal
I know that all is not lost
For together we are revolutionary

All the Screens Became Bright Red, and the Golden Star Shines Brightly.

Now I can see
This light will guide us free
Star of love, star of glory, star of hope

And now I know
That we all must follow
Star of love, star of glory, star of hope

Star of love, star of glory, star of hope

The Song Ended, and Everyone Cheered. Yay

Rick Leg - "No, No, No, No, No".
Tune: Theme from "Dick and Dom in Da Bungalow" (0:00 to 0:56 only).

Rick Leg's back, and is about 10 feet up on a gigantic bed, sleeping. At the back is a drummer and a backing singer with an annoying voice.

As the trumpets begin, there is a flash of light and a pyrotechnic on every note. Rick's bed then tilts forward 45 degrees and he slides down it to land on his feet, in pyjamas, complete with sleeping hat. There is a discernible yellow stain on his trousers near his crotch area.

Fucking fucking hell, I'm late for work

Rick changes his trousers as two men with a huge black cloth come on and cover up Rick's bottom half so the audience can't see his unmentionables.

Gotta get going, I am late for my meeting

Rick then changes his shirt. The black cloth is disposed of.

I forgot to lock the door and have had nothing to eat
And this song doesn't really rhyme

Rick and the backing singer then sing the next line in unison, as Rick runs around the stage doing odd jobs around the "house".

No, no, no, no, no (no, no, no, no, no)
No, no, no, no, no

Now I'm late again, oh dear, oh dear (no, no, no, no, no)
Got to get going, now my train is really late (no, no, no, no, no)
So don't be surprised if you hear me shout (no, no, no, no, no)
"FUCKING HELL, I QUIT, I'M OUT!"

The lights stop flashing temporarily.

No, no, no, no, no (no, no, no, no, no)

And then they resume flashing.

No, no, no, no, no
No, no, no, no, no

All of a sudden, the lights all change colour and Rick stops what he's doing as the music changes completely (at 0:37). For 15 seconds, everyone stands dead still, then...

No, no, no, no, no (no, no, no, no, no)

And the lights cut off.

The Notes of Rubem Kiefer, Tödlichebujoki Journalist

Opening Act

ouch, now that's a jab at all the nations that have ceased to participate here
really aggressive, actually, maybe a bit too much? international condemnations better not happen because of this

Electrum Diplomatic Offices - I Have Gold

um I'm glad Gertrude is proud of herself and her success, I applaud as well
quite an empowering song actually

Merecendi - Å

this CBA person has a golden voice and wow this pamphlet thing they gave us with an analytical essay on it really shines light on this whole thing
Å, Å, Å away I guess, strange people of merecendi

Stojam - Never Ending Fury

I... why do I like this???? this was really energizing
even if the growling seems terrifyingly demonic and makes me want to call the police

Norjihan - Evajeen

she sounds like an android, does she have a soul
do norjihanis have souls

she sounds like she should be singing "please don't disconnect my battery"

Kalosia - Games of Love

kalosia gives us love lessons and now love games, what's next, "welcome to real love"?
ohhh I love these references tho, and this tune is so much nicer

Electrum - Glitch in the Matrix

norjihan part 2, but this is better
funny how this has similar staging to kalosia's
hmmm

Manaime - War Light

really not sure what's going on, but maybe it's about war
wow I'm smart
what if it's about finding hope in war, maybe some disbelief about the war actually happening
idk

Mister X - Lost In The Darkness Of Mind

nice orchestral opening
not sure how the grammar of the chorus is supposed to be like but hey it's a good chorus melody, wistful and catchy
good song but I wish there was a bit more change in the song, though that middle bass-focused bit was pretty good

Togonistan - Your Time To Shine

if mister x wanted to win, this entry will kill them
it's killer
this sounds like Ekoz when they debuted, and why their debut is still remembered.

Estogium - Once Again

haha my title thing looks like it's just done with estogium
hmmm not sure if the concept goes very well w/ the tune
like the tune sounds like it should be about beauty and exploration, but the concept is like "woe is me".... but wait at the end it works. hmmm

Adab - Twelve Chords

ohhhh I have no idea what this is but you can see why Kinan-al salaman is a superstar in adab
the talent
the... whole thing. voting for this.

Alinghi Federal-Democratic Republic - I will have my revenge

holy powers above I'm scared
ok ok ok ok I'll vote for you
don't revenge hurt me pls

Antahbrantahstan - Crown of Tears

oooh daaaang its a good one, lives up to its name
so cinematic
dat electronic breakdown mm

Kwadai - Our Place

ok this beginning is, um, drab
but oh my that chorus is definitely not drab
I actually am liking this one

Tödlichebujoku - Repentance

TÖBUK asked Rudolf Korhonen to perform. are they trolling us
they say it won the internal final but seriously was it a bunch of keski-tasangot rednecks they asked to vote
well hey good lyrics and chorus, reminds me of the hymns we sing at temple anyway

Balkvla Islands - #RESIST

I love how different this is compared to their first two entries
mm, I mīlu

Polkopia - I'll Never Know

I didn't like it in landa, felt her voice was too distracting, no changes here
good song tho, good showing by the host nation

Izmedu - Mirrors

hmm kinda upbeat... oh wait no
great melody and music actually, but powers the lyrics delve into a level of darkness only Izmeduans can write to
I feel uncomfortable

a feeling

something just felt weird, like a time skip but not concerning us??? huh

Ethane - My Best

the music confuses me
alison's vocals make me feel like inga from polkopia did
like the music can't decide whether it's a record-scratching club banger or a cinematic spy movie theme
and no they don't work together. unless the spy's day job... er, the DJ's day job is a spy???? idk

Arioslavia - Follow The Moon

oh this Zina has a bit of a better voice than um Alison, still close tho I think
good dance song, but togonistan has it beat soundly

Mercedini - Memory

oh finally a girl with a good voice, here we have Abigail from mercedini
"Now you’re all to me is just a memory" huh
maybe they should stick to, um, mercedinian
but yeah the great music transcends the unusual lyrics

Saviera - Star of Hope

for a second there I thought this was going to be a Christian hymn
reminds me of normandy and picardy's debut song, wasn't it communist too?
well this is a better song

Missus X - No, No, No, No, No

"Make Me Late" was a better entry on a similar theme
I never thought I'd say "make me late" was better than anything, aside from maybe "scandalous"
well I guess this WV is special

<drawk> If the entirety of the nation of Ethane was covered in a single cubic foot of Ethane on its surface, lighting it all on fire would cause a 5.44 megaton blast.

Electrumite Worldvision Commentary - Network ENN (Electrum National Network)

Image

Sonya Portelli: We're back, this time we're in Polkopia again for like the fifth time
Max Hardwell: It's good to be back. My Polkopian's getting better by the day.
Sonya: Really Max? How do you say hello?
Max: Don't be daft Sonya, it's "hello." Pretty self explanatory.
Sonya: Right. Anyways. Welcome to edition number 58 of the WorldVision song contest in Kaminkoboy!
Max: Let the obligatory bad opening song commence!

0. Opening
Max: That was something.
Sonya: Quite modern.
Max: Imagine if we took our break this edition instead of two editions ago, would our flag be burnt?
Sonya: It's quite rude, and I mean, if you didn't care WHY ARE YOU BURNING THEIR FLAGS?
Max: That's right. Anyways, tonight are our hosts Mikhail Resnik and Sabina Plešec, mind the s.
Sonya: And what a surprise, it's Gertrude Pullman up first.

1. Electrum Diplomatic Offices
Max: What a tear jerker, truly gut wrenching.
Sonya: I feel kinda bad for her, but then you remember her songs spruiking her religion.
Max: A step in the right direction for Gertrude. Will this be her turning point? Can she salvage any of her credibility?
Sonya: You never know..

2. Mercendi
Sonya: You know what Max, post-post-modernism does have a place in Worldvision.
Max: I agree, it's a brave experiment in what truly makes a song, it's a deconstruction of the classic musical tropes, stripping them down, making fun of the use of non-English in Worldvision.
Sonya: The tonality of the Å is just breathtaking. I never knew A's could have circles on top of them. The more you know.

3. Stojam
Max: I just love how they all have these dark names like Lucifer and Big Evil and then you just have someone called 8-ball.
Sonya: This hurts my ears. My delicate, sensitive, supple ears.
Max: Never knew ears could be supple. I can barely understand what he's saying.
Sonya: This is definitely not for our, and indeed our audiences, refined tastes.

4. Norjihan
Sonya: Just who is Norjihan and why are they so ... weird?
Max: It's throwing me off here but I like it a lot. There's something unforgettable about this song.

5. Kalosia
Max: Speaking about unforgettable, love the vintage style. Seriously, impressive stuff.
Sonya: And I love the video game motif. I don't play video games, but I get it.
Max: It binded really well. The contest is finally starting to heat up for real.

6. Electrum
Sonya: Duchess you are BAE!
Max: Seems like we've continued with the electronic theme into this song too.
Sonya: The songs are modernising I tell you. New metaphors abound in the realm of electronics and video games and matrices.
Max: And it's a refreshingly modern song too, a good mix-up by Network ENN. It's what they do best.
Sonya: I just don't understand why we can't keep sending dance songs. Oh well.

7. Manaime
Max: You've got a good voice and some good music. There's a story being told here.
Sonya: Who is Elli? What is a war light? So many questions, I don't understand.
Max: I don't usually say this, but let the song wash over you...

8. Mister X
Sonya: A dramatique song for sure, you really can feel the pain in this song.
Max: I can see you're tearing up there.
Sonya: This song is so real, it's relatable.
Max: But is it too depressing for WorldVision? We will see.

9. Togonistan
Sonya: We absolutely did not like Togonistan's song last time, but it seems like the entire multiverse did!
Max: We're happy to be proven wrong time and time again. Just goes to show that we all like different kinds of music.
Sonya: It's not my favourite song, but it's definitely better than what they sent last time.
Max: Agree.

10. Estogium
Sonya: Those strings are haunting. I don't know what that instrument is but it's beautiful.
Max: He just got a bit too shouty at the end.
Sonya: No, I like that actually.
Max: The problem with the song is that it's just not catchy.

11. Adab
Max: Right. Let's see what we got. Absolutely nonsensical lyrics.
Sonya: At least some effort is necessary, come on Adab!
Max: I did love the chorus though, but what is the point of competing if you're not going to put the effort in? Show some, like Gertrude has.
Sonya: I mean he went to the toilet, so.

12. Alinghi Federal-Democratic Republic
Sonya: I mean, the lyrics could do with a lot of work.
Max: But I have to say it's one of the better songs tonight, you seriously can't go past this tune.
Sonya: It has that going for it too I suppose.

13. Antahbrantahstan
Max: Haunting, dramatic. Loved the choir interlude as well, building up to the inevitable climax.
Sonya: I couldn't agree more. I don't think we've seen Antahbrantahstan send a song like this, so it's just great to see that from them.

14. Kwadai
Sonya: Excellent. I loved that. I mean I can't explain it, it's--
Max: Other-worldly would be the word. Colour me impressed. This is my favourite song so far.
Sonya: I wouldn't go that far, but yes, it's one of the top few songs for me too, and I suppose for the people at home as well. I don't know, maybe I wanted more in the ending, it just fizzled out in the end.

15. Todlichebujoku
Sonya: This is how people tell stories in songs, great electric guitar undertones. I didn't expect to like this song, but I did.
Max: Agreed.

16. Balkvla Islands
Max: Woah, those words pass by really quickly.
Sonya: The song is very disruptive, but it's a lot more acceptable to the ears to that other song before.
Max: Yeah, it's an improvement for sure, I loved the slow parts coming into that final chorus.
Sonya: Don't know what else to say really.

17. Polkopia
Max: I have mixed feelings about this song, I want to like the songs, it's got the elements I like, but I just can't stand Inga's voice, I'm sorry.
Sonya: Seriously, it's her voice that gives off this beautiful feeling, she's very different to all the rest.

18. Izmedu
Max: I always look forward to the Izmedu lyrics, it's just always so well written. It's excellent, impeccable, brilliant.
Sonya: I mean it's just so good how well they nails that creepy aesthetic, the ghoulish presence, discussion of monsters and souls. It's probably the most satanic song ever to be honest!

20. Ethane
Max: Some seriously classy, jazzy music. This belongs in a movie, surely.
Sonya: Truly. What a song, nothing is out of place. One of the best songs tonight.
Max: Couldn't agree more. Our biggest threats for tonight, and I have a feeling they're in for the debut victory if everyone feels the same way as us.
Sonya: Everything was on point.

21. Arioslavia
Sonya: Those Arioslavians now how to select catchy tunes.
Max: I'm just happy that they've given the piano such a prominent place in the song, it gives it this lightness, this delicateness, this vividness. That and the strings, perfect complements.

22. Mercedini
Max: Even better, a full orchestra!
Sonya: We love these kinds of songs.
Max: We totally do.
Sonya: It's a contemporary mix of genres, the way she sings too is gorgeous.

23. Saviera
Max: We're going back to the future with more orchestra. Great stuff, though it does sound a bit outdated.
Sonya: It's just a tad boring, but to be honest, it's because of the calibre of the other songs tonight.
Max: Yeah, it's been left in the dust. Which is a shame because that climax is something to die for.

24. Missus X
Max: Not quite sure what the point of that song was.
Sonya: Maybe he just forgot to write a song this edition so he decided to make that his concept for a song this edition?
Max: Anyways. Absolute rubbish.

DOTTY RAG GIRL SAYS POINTS FOR ESTOGIUM

"To be honest, the quality of this edition is shockingly bad. I wanted to not vote, but apparently, Estogium would be disqualified. So, here are the votes."

1. Izmedu because we always give them points, to be honest.
2. Ethane. Because I prefer it to Methane. Don't know the difference, I just prefer the word without the M.
3. Mercedini. Because it sounds like Macaroni.
4. Stojam. I didn't like the song whatsoever, but I appreciate the effort. It also sounds like Estogium. eSTOJAM, kind of...
..
5. Togonistan for taking me to the beach.
6. Arioslavia because I like Arioslavia and they are our neighbours.
7. Electrum Diplomatic Offices because that girl one a gold!
8. Balkvla Islands. So under-appreciated, it makes me sick.
10. Todlichebujoku because their rep is so hot. I love me a bit of Asian food.
12. Mister X, because to be honest, they've been waiting so long, and for once, I connected with the song.
