Historical Document found during Yard Sale

KÖHLN - A yard sale in Lindburg Drive uncovered a personal document by J. Mueller, a land agent from the 17th century.

Achim Hassenkamp (62) cleared out his attic for the monthly event in the well-known town of Köhln. Franziska Breithbarth (27), an aspiring historian, bought a box filled with old documents in which she found the personal letter. After having it examined it turned out to be a historical document by the rich J. Mueller, written in 1850. The Museum of National History (MONAH) has bought the piece from miss Breithbarth. It is soon to be found in the public archive room.

The document is written in old German and includes dates of birth from family members, addresses, and unique stamps. Mueller had great influences in the nation's way of distributing poor and rich housing. He's buried in the Wilgenweg cemetery.
How the article wound up in an unrelated citizen's home is a mystery.

ßündeln narrowly avoids Environmental Disaster

ßÜNDELN - A few hours ago, in the outskirts of ßündeln, a truck carrying highly poisonous cyanide tumbled into the Elbe-ßündeln canal, nearly causing the contamination of many kilometers of waterways.

According to last-minute reports, the CYANCO truck had to take a route through a populated area after a highway blockage. This went against safety standards surrounding the strict rules most of Moldegaard has in place. As it drove along the empty Baker Street it got T-boned by a speeding van. The van emerged from an alley going twice the speed limit. This caused the truck to go askew and drive through the iron barriers between the road and the canal. It fell into the water two meters lower.

Luckily the tank did not burst and succeeded in containing the dangerous chemicals. The chauffeur of the truck managed to escape the submerged cockpit. A woman who saw the incident occur notified the emergency services and helped the truck driver. The heavily damaged van, however, was left abandoned on the road. The driver fled the scene and has yet to be identified. Their vehicle had a fake license plate. If you have seen a light gray Mercedes van in the surrounding area with license plate BKW 7165, notify the authorities.

A group of people gathered around the site when the truck was carefully removed from the canal. Now, information is sparse, but speculation is taking place. The van was abandoned after the incident, which took place in a security camera-free area, after hitting the only truck that drove through that neighbourhood- a truck containing highly dangerous chemicals- at twice the speed limit from an alley. It does sound like a planned attack on the environment and business. It's too early to truly point at terrorism, but speculists are open to the idea. More information on the incident will commence.

OPPOSITION SPLIT IN TWO. NEW LEFT WING PARTY SPLITS FROM SDP!


We were all surprised two years ago, when the Leader of the Social Democratic Party, Johnson Mc Gregory, appointed Ben Manson, pictured, as Shadow Treasury Minister and chief Shadow Minister. Manson is, or better was, a prominent member of the SDP's Left Wing. When Debate in the about the Conservative Government's Decision to saction the ToyMakers and support OmniCorp in the Civil War of the neighboring country ensued, the Leader of the SDP left free vote to his MPs.
It was the shadow Treasury Minister who argued against the Government. Rumors had it that after the vote, the Leader of the SDP and his chief Shadow Minister had an engagement, which was heard by everyone in the SDP HQs, despite the closed doors. After that, Manson, with the support of eight other Shadow Ministers, and other fifty one Social Democratic MPs of the Left Wing, launched a new Party.
The Socialist Unity Party (SUP) will fight, as stated in its Manifesto, for Marxist Socialism and the Working class. Mr. McGregory laughed at the new attempt of his former supporters, saying that they will be wiped out in the Next Election.

Sunny with a chance of falling satellite

MOSA - The Moldegaardian Space Agency received concern of a malfunctioning Marche Noir satellite.

One week ago the agency heard the news in whispers and is now publicly announcing the danger for the sake of national safety. According to reports published on http://www.mosaofficial.com the foreign communication satellite has been steadily decreasing in altitude. It has been calculated that the crash course has a 75% chance of landing within Moldegaardian borders. However, MOSA engineer Dustin Rome is telling us not to worry too much.

"Debris falling through our atmosphere has little chance of surviving fully," says Rome, "especially a satellite of medium size. At worst we can expect very small pieces making contact- but even still there's no way of saying if it's in an actually populated area."
Moldegaard is covered in sprawling woods, making for possible crash sites we wouldn't even know of, according to Rome.
"We're expecting the failed satellite to enter the lower atmosphere within two days," Rome concluded.

Now that's a good excuse to stay home on Monday!

Hundreds protest fracking in the West

GORINNINGEN - An estimated eight hundred people have gathered in the West-Moldegaardian city of Gorinningen to protest the effects of fracking.

Hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, as it is more commonly known, is a method to release petroleum or natural gas from rock formations by injecting a mixture of water, sand and chemicals deep underground at high pressure. Such chemicals can remain in the ground and contaminate water sources and even the air. The area has spikes of respiratory problems and, as some claim, also nervous breakdowns and cancer due to the activity. Continue reading below the image.

This is why yet another protest is taking place in the center of one of the biggest cities of the West. The area is still dominated by German-speaking Moldegaardes. 12% of the active working population here works in the gas sector. They are demanding safer techniques and government regulation. As with any protest, there are also people gathering to oppose the protesting crowd. The smaller group, dressed in white clothing, is calling out the pros of fracking: more jobs, easy access to gas and oil within Moldegaardian borders, lower taxes, and even the positive effects on air quality in the long due to less dirty fossil-fuel usage. The last argument is countered by the promotion of green energy such as hydraulic- and wind power, and recycling.

The government has been promoting clean energy but has yet to speak of the future of fracking.

ßündeln truck crash was an Act of Terrorism

ßÜNDELN - The suspicious incident of Baker Street last Saturday was indeed an attempted contamination of the canals.

Shortly after the incident, a shopping couple two streets away stopped a bleeding individual to ask if she was okay. The woman refused any help and continued hurriedly walking away. Later in the day, the couple linked the woman to the incident coverage on the news. They alerted the authorities and gave a description of the woman. This led to the finding of Elizia Gwerder (32) in her apartment in a nearby town within 24 hours. She quickly gave in and told the interrogators about the complex plan to contaminate the canals.

In short, the plan was to lead a truck with cyanide into Baker Street and strike it to hopefully expose its content to the area, making it look like an unfortunate accident. This plan consisted of multiple people that are yet to be found. It failed when the tank did not burst. Gwerder was also too disorientated by the intentional crash to flee the scene secretly. An investigation is still intensely taking place.

The police have been applauded for their quick and efficient action-taking. It is now up to debate if an increase in the Defense budget and security cameras could make these happenings even more unlikely.
However, some have come forward to call out the police on its incredibly quick work and warn for an upcoming Orwellian society. Commentators are divided on praising the investigators and finding the government too invasive.

Since that day, as so often in the past, the Kongo has presented a picture of heartbreaking disunity, division, anxiety, paranoia, distrust, and above all, isolation! We never received the equality and fraternity we had been promised, and we lost our liberty to boot and reconstruct this great Empire. For when our nation lost its political place in the world in 1987, it soon lost its unity of spirit and will to resurrect itself into the true purest model of Statehood and National Integrity!

I am firmly convinced that the Kongolese nation entered the Soviet sphere in 1970 without the slightest feeling of guilt on its part and filled only with the desire to defend the Fatherland which had been attacked and colonized previously and to preserve the freedom, nay, the very existence, of the Kongolese people. This being so, we can only see in the disastrous fate which has overtaken us since those November days of 1987 as the result of our collapse at home and the deterioration of our influence and associations overseas! But the rest of the world, too, has suffered no less since then from overwhelming crises. The balance of power which had evolved in the course of history, and which formerly played no small part in bringing about the understanding of the necessity for an internal solidarity of the nations, with all its advantages for trade and commerce, has been set on one side. The insane conception of victors and vanquished destroyed the confidence existing between nations, and, at the same time, the industry of the entire world.

The misery of our people is horrible to behold and it continues to infect and weaken our social institutions and administrative infrastructure! Millions of the industrial workers were unemployed and starving; the whole of the middle class and the small artisans were impoverished! Although we are not pure and free of our struggles yet, we have come a long way through our reconstruction, revitalization, and transformation! However, if were to stop this movement of the National American Union, if we were to eradicate Samsonian Republicanism, if we were to halt all of our advances towards the reconstruction of an affluent Social Contract that benefits ALL Kongolese People, then when this collapse finally reaches the Kongolese workers and the poor, we would then be faced with an immeasurable disaster, of which I myself vow to you all right now that such a fictitious reality shall never become actuality! For then, IF it were to happen, not only shall a nation such as ours collapse, but a thirty-thousand-year-old inheritance, some of the loftiest products of human culture and civilization! This shall never become our reality nor shall we allow for such a thought corrode our minds, bodies, and spirits!

However. There is an emerging warning sign that we cannot ignore. There is a gremlin that is rearing its parasitic existence once again within human civilization! We were once plagued with it for 23 years! We all know what I am referring to: Communism! Communism with its method of madness is making a powerful and insidious attack upon our resurrecting yet still vulnerable nation but most importantly, our unstable continent. It seeks to poison and disrupt in order to hurl us into an epoch of chaos! This negative, destroying spirit spared nothing of all that is highest and most valuable. Beginning with the family, it has undermined the very foundations of morality and faith and scoffs at culture and business, nation and Motherland, justice and honor. Twenty-three years of Marxism ruined the PLRC; one year of bolshevism would destroy Her! The richest and fairest territories of the world would be turned into a smoking heap of ruins and that is a fact! Even the sufferings of the last decade and a half could not be compared to the misery of a PLRC as well as an Africa in the heart of which the red flag of destruction had been hoisted. The thousands of wounded, the hundreds of dead which this inner strife has already cost the PLRC should be a warning of the storm which would come if we do not liberate Somalia, liberate Africa, further unify our People, and establish a pure model of governance for the world!

The inheritance which has fallen to us is a terrible one. The task with which we are faced is the hardest which has fallen to Kongolese statesmen within the memory of man. But we are all filled with unbounded confidence for we believe in our people and their imperishable virtues! Every class and every individual must help us to found the new Empire! The National Government will regard it as its first and foremost duty to revive in the nation the spirit of unity and co-operation. It will preserve and defend those basic principles on which our nation has been built! It regards Gnosti Luciani as the foundation of our national morality, and the family as the basis of national life! Turbulent instincts must be replaced by a national discipline as the guiding principle of our national life. All those institutions which are the strongholds of the energy and vitality of our nation will be taken under the special care of the Government! In economical administration, the promotion of employment, the preservation of the farmer, as well as in the exploitation of individual initiative, the Government sees the best guarantee for the avoidance of any experiments which would endanger the currency. As regards its foreign policy the National Government considers its highest mission to be the securing of the right to live and the restoration of freedom to our nation. Its determination to bring to an end, the chaotic state of affairs in the PLRC will assist in restoring to the community of nations a State of equal value and, above all, a State which must have equal rights. It is impressed with the importance of its duty to use this nation of equal rights as an instrument for the securing and maintenance of that peace which the world requires today more than ever before!

May the good will of all others assist in the fulfillment of this our earnest wish for the welfare of Africa and of the whole world.
Great as is our love for our Army as the bearer of our arms and the symbol of our great past and prosperous future, we should be happy if the world, by reducing its armaments, would see to it that we need never increase our own! When the United States of the Democratic People's Liberation Republic of the Kongo is to experience this political and economic revival and conscientiously fulfill her duties toward the other nations, one decisive step is absolutely necessary first: the overcoming of the destroying menace of communism in the Kongo, our surrounding neighbors, the African Contingent, and eventually, the world. We of this Government feel responsible for the restoration of orderly life in the nation and for the final elimination of class madness and class struggle. We recognize no classes, we see only the Kongolese people, millions of peasants, bourgeois, and workers who will either overcome together the difficulties of these times or be overcome by them! We are firmly resolved and we have taken our oath. Since the previous administrations were incapable of lending support to this work, we ask you, the Kongolese people whom we represent, to perform the tasks both individually and communally!

Now, people of the Kongo, give me your allegiance, trust, and complete solidarity. Freibrunn elects Arthur the Cat as Mayor

FREIBRUNN - As of August 20th, the new mayor presenting the touristic town of Freibrunn is a feline named Arthur (4).

The Freibrunners have done it again. They have a national reputation of silliness and political satire which has been underlined this weekend. Arthur ran against the former mayor, Gerold Spitznogle, and the timid miss Sitz, winning by a majority of 85%. The status is honorary but you never know with these folk. They'd let a bumblebee decide whether to build a dam or not.

Arthur's election isn't completely random. The city has a history of cats, dogs and birds being granted titles in the royal house. The nationally famous painting "Cornelia" can be found in Freibrunn's royal palace.

Whatever path Freibrunn decides to go on, it will always remain one of Moldegaard's most beautiful, history-rich, and romantic towns.

Huvudman Lindquist continues on his escapade of reforms by requiring a portrait of him in every government building such as schools and hospitals and many more places. He has also passed a new law banning the Gaelic language spoken in some northern states from being taught in school or being used in official settings. This new law, called the "National Language Act" has brought up much controversy and a stir in the northern states. Today an anti-Andromitan bill was passed this afternoon officially banning all products from Andromitus from Handland. This bill has started effectively immediately. Anyone caught with contraband will be facing criminal charges and facing a 5 year prison sentence immediately.

In sports news, Jai Alai started today. Wolin played against Scatness today and won. In baseball, the Wolin Drakkars beat the Dubh Linn Explorers in a close game of 11 to 10.

A spokesman for the Prime Minister has criticised Dr. Huntman for his remarks concerning the Saint Petersburggate Scandal. He said in a statement to the press this evening:

"The government of Nuremgard criticises Dr Huntman for his words today. The Prime Minister had no knowledge of the spying that was occurring. As the national media reported, it was rogue elements within the Socialist Party and establishment that had conducted the espionage programme against the Opposition. As this sort of surveillance is illegal in Nuremgard, the officials and party members involved were all sacked by the Prime Minister and will face criminal charges. Even Mr Maxwell has publicly praised the Prime Minister for her response to the whole affair. We reject Dr Huntman's notions that our country is not a free society. Nuremgard has had a proud democratic and liberal tradition for generations. Our nation consecutively scores highly in international rankings as one of the least corrupt and most politically free states in the world. The Cesorion government ought to think more carefully about preserving its relations with the Crowned Commonwealth before allowing its academics to spout untruths in future."

The obelisk doors of one of the private meeting rooms at the Presidential Palace in Chertkovo swung open by two soldiers dressed in their ceremonial, rather regal, uniforms as President Theodore Samson slowly entered the room with a hand in his pocket. Getting a glimpse of Andi Shenko, a smile appeared on the face of Theodore Samson. Samson made a notion for the reporter to have a seat in one of the chairs facing his desk. While walking over to sit down, President Samson took his black jacket off and placed on a black armband that had the insignia of the National African Union, which is a torch with 13 stars around it, right in the center of the band. Taking a seat, the two guards in the room continued to stand until Samson nodded to them so that they could sit behind the reporter. Clearing his throat and taking a sip of water, President Samson looked at Andi Shenko.

Theodore Samson:
"It is very nice to meet a reporter from our closest ally. I was told that you have some questions for me. I was also informed that this will be a broadcast on live television around the world. I look forward to answering these questions. I shall have my agents finish setting up the cameras here and once they are done then we can begin"

After his statement, 4 agents walked into the room with the rest of the equipment to help the Russkov reporter to set up the cameras and recorders. In 10 minutes, Theodore Samson was about to go live in front of the entire world.

NEW AIRCRAFT CARRIER ARRIVES AT HOME PORT

The new C.S.S. Pioneer arriving at her
home port of New Orleans, Louisiana.

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA — The United Continental States' newest aircraft carrier, the C.S.S. Pioneer, arrived at its home port in New Orleans on Sunday. The C฿6.2 billion ship, which is 1,092 feet long, displaces 104,200 long tons and has a top speed of more than 30 knots, sailed from Savannah, Georgia all the way down to its home port in Louisiana where it will be based before becoming fully operational early next year.

The Pioneer will become the fourth aircraft carrier of the Continental Navy. It holds just over 6,000 people and houses a variety of aircraft.

"When she enters service she will help keep our country safe at a time of increased threats, able to fill multiple roles from providing air power anywhere at any time to fight future campaigns, supporting allies or delivering humanitarian aid," said Secretary of the Navy Steven Moran.

An astonishing and earth-shattering revelation has been bestowed upon the Coalition of Lex Caledonia. Earlier today, Ryan Wardrope, the Minister of PR held an emergency press release at Camelon Parliament. The excited Minister and speaker couldn't help but appear slightly skittish whilst addressing the press this morning.

"It is with great pleasure that I announce that Head Minister Marsh Sulla, hours ago attained confirmation from the workers from the HLCI that they have uncovered a truly astonishing discovery," said Wardrope.

At exactly 06:00am, workers of the Historic Lex Caledonia Initiative discovered a sizeable underground ruin at one of their many dig sites across the nation. Within this ruin, contained fully intact relics from hundreds of years ago, revealing the forgotten history of what came before Lex Caledonia. Due to the actions of The Event, historic materials and knowledge of the world before the formation of Lex Caledonia are next to none.

Uncovered however, were documents and artefacts which bore the markings and symbols of an ancient kingdom known as Lexidus. These artefacts have quickly been identified as genuine and confirmed Lexidus as a precursor to the modern state of Lex Caledonia. The exact location and dig site has not been named, however it is surmised that the find was uncovered in the newest of the dig-sites known as GAMMA.

Wardrope concluded: "As we speak, more and more items are being uncovered at the dig-site, we are keeping an open channel with the Initiative and will keep Lex Caledonia and it's citizens updated. For now I must beg for your patience and will hold a more collected press conference with answers later today."

The Minister for PR, made a quick exit from the conference room despite the flurry of questions from the various excited news outlets gathered in the room. These unanswered questions ranged from:
"How does this affect the current government?", "What does this mean for the Coalition?", "Will the monarchy be reestablished?" and this reporter's very own and arguably most pressing question.

Denounce President

Protestors angry at rising taxes and ‘threats to civil liberties’ marched yesterday in the Refuge Plaza. The police prevented the protesters from moving towards the government buildings at the opposite end of the Plaza. Shouts of “Finders keepers,” and “Treasures found is Treasures kept!”.

The protests were triggered by the President’s decision to seize a cache of gold coins found by Justin Treadon who told reporters “I found them… I want them!” Justin was last year’s only high school dropout in the entire nation. Protest leaders demand a reversal in the national lands act that prevents people from keeping any treasure they find in Silsalian waters. “Death to the President,” The Protestors really, really hate our President.

The hatred stems from their belief that taxes should be lower than 47.2% and people should be allowed to keep any gold they find on government property. Economic Minister, you know the man who stands outside McDonald's, told reporters “Lower taxes! Never if anything should, they are higher! We need to provide for all people, not just the rich!”

The president responded to the protests with assurances that she was doing everything possible to reduce the tax rate and improve personal freedom. “I wish to live in a country with great freedom and Great economics.” When protesters heard this, they dispersed as the protest was getting too loud and they were concerned about receiving a noise complaint.

Protest leaders vow to continue their fight to oust the President who has an 85% approval rating and 0% disapproval rating. 15% of respondents answered, “whatever man it’s like your opinion.”

The nation remains known as one of the most politically free countries on Earth and beyond, and our cheese industry is still one of the most thriving. But new rankings have now also placed Moldegaard high in integrity after a steady improvement over the past two decades. Political scandals and bribes are becoming a thing of the past under progressive civil education initiated by the current government. Moldegaardes are free to protest loudly, however, the population is becoming divided on the absence of law surrounding marches and protests. Elderly are afraid of violence commencing. Young adults only want more freedom.

The failed environmental terrorist attack in ßündeln and its following arrestation of Elizia Gwerder (and other people who were involved) within a day has caused a rising distrust. Anti-government protesters, anarchists, and freeloaders are reportedly planning a huge march in the capital sometime soon. Moldegaard is very tolerant of these outspoken people, but is the government too tolerant?

For now we should all be glad for World Census' ratings and enjoy the safety while we have it.
