Sedgistan CTE'd

The former moderator, [I hope I get the pretitle right]The Oh My God What Were They Thinking? He's a Moderator! of Sedgistan, CTE'd 10 hours ago. I don't know, I'm not on these forums enough, if he/she officially retired or what but, still not a usual occurrence. I didn't know Sedge too well, to be honest, but many did, so, any words of respect?

Sedgistan is taking a break. I can't say with certainty he isn't gone forever, but his intent was to return last he spoke to the editors. But his absence is definitely missed on the editing team. It's been tough with Lenyo gone as well (his return is even more uncertain), we're down a lot of great, highly experienced people on the team.

Wow, this blows. I hope he'll be back, for all his missteps he was a very good mod for our subforum, probably the best we've ever had. We need more mods like him standing up for R/D.

Sedgistan was the mod that stepped up to bat for Gameplay during its darkest hour in 2015. If he comes back, it'll be a relief. If he doesn't, then farewell Sedge.

I hope he returns! A great moderator, great defender, and a loyal TRR veteran. I made this WA Card when he first became a moderator...

Unfortunately for some, Gameplay has Sedgistan to blame for me. I got involved in defending because Sedgistan pulled me in - as he did with many a young player. He always recognized hard workers and talent and was always a leader and a motivator wherever he went. I fear it may go unrecognized to what extent he's kept TRR as a community together, he's always worked behind the scenes in ensuring compromise, stability, and good governance; it's not an official position, but every good region has a 'Sedge' to keep things together.

I had hoped to add a 'Sedgistan Day' to the list of TRR's regional holidays as delegate but the bugger turned the offer down. Here's hoping TRR does it anyway at some point, we need a summer holiday anyways.*

*Protocol dictates that one's retirement date is their day of recognition.

He told the mod team he was taking a break from NS. It has been harder to keep on top of GP modding without him, but I wouldn't worry about his RL well-being.

Why wouldn't we though? Even if everything is okay, doesn't mean we don't wish him well.

He wasn't saying we shouldn't wish him well. Just that there's no need to worry. Although, I don't worry for people's RL well-being when they CTE. Unfortunately, there are things more important than NS, though I wish otherwise.

You're referring to the Predator Scandal I assume?

It's not definite. It's possible that he'll pop up again today, it's possible that he'll decide not to come back at all, or it could be anything in between.

I just wanted to reassure people, the CTE does not mean that anything bad happened to him IRL.

You're referring to the Predator Scandal I assume?

That was 2016. The big gameplay-moderation controversy of 2015 was the Black Riders and its subsequent invasion. I say gameplay-moderation, there were plenty of legal activities in GP that year, like the NLO coup and Wibblefeet being exposed as a spy

I was referring to The Predator Scandal, actually. The Predator Scandal reached the public eye in 2016, but I had leaked the Predator tool to Eluvatar in 2015, so I always associate it with 2015.
