In an unexpected turn of events, the Barjaani native Dimitri Komkaraham was assassinated while giving a speech in Potthan and advocating for democracy. Merely days after the Potthani Legion stormed into the eastern border of Barjaanistan and conquered the eastern city of Nandugesh. Residents flee in terror as mass executions and mass crucifixions take place. Families, even children, butchered in the thousands or skinned alive. Women assaulted in their own homes, husbands forced to watch. Kids watch as their parents are killed before being killed themselves.

"I have never seen anything so barbaric and terrible in my life. My... My brother didn't make it." a Nandu woman reported to the Chronicle in the refugee camp located in nearby Bayalkankarat. Many gruesome reports come in such as children being held for ransom and politicians held hostage.

It's obvious an eternal hatred has faced Barjaanistan via Potthan, but even Potthani historians here in Barjaanistan say this is the most gruesome military display since in the Great Nankat War of 1514-1522. The total estimated death count in 956,000 roughly, however it's estimated to surpass 1 million by tomorrow.

Police and military have totally retreated the city, leaving the remaining residents with little chance of escaping. They shall be in our prayers and may the gods give them safe passage in this time of mourning and tragedy.

Elders strike deal with Arcadia to join FASC in order to restore peace in Potthan

Around mid day yesterday, Elders met with Commander Reed of the Arcadian army in Hamaan. Soldiers flew in all day long, and to our surprise little local resistance was met. Chief of Communications for The Golden Path Elders Conglomerate states, "This is a beacon of hope that was shot down in the 80s. We thank Arcadia and her people for assisting us in these troubled times. All the gold below our feet nor all the blood that flow in our veins can't even begin to repay the debt we owe Arcadia.".

According to the tribunal held, once victory is earned then Potthan will enter the FASC as a commonwealth. They shall offer us healthcare, wartime assistance, economic stability, and much much more. The Elders seem very pleased with the deal offered by Arcadia and accept it's terms 100%. Now, it's a matter of time of winning this civil war. Potthan has had many civil wars since the occupation of the original Emperor in 1911. None of which were successful, yet. Elders say with the help of Arcadia among other nations Potthan will "be free and become her former self again". Blood Sea Survey completed

Just yesterday the Federal Government finished its secondary and more in depth survey, complete with analysis of retrieved samples, of the Blood Sea and the deposits of natural resources recently found there in and the results are surprising. One of things discovered in the Blood Sea was oil and quite a lot of it new figures come in at around 355 million barrels. The crude was found to be 'light' which means low sulfur content and easier to refine. In fact, the crude has an extraordinarily low sulfur content at around .000001 % on average making it extremely odd but never the less it is very high quality crude oil.

On the more solid aspects, the deposits of Rare Earth Minerals (or REMs) have been analyzed and catalogued.the REMs found include: lanthanum, cerium, praseodymium, neodymium, promethium, samarium, europium, gadolinium, terbium, dysprosium, holmium, erbium, thulium, ytterbium, and lutetium. In addition platinum groups have been found is some areas. All of these have been found in hi unusually high concentration on the sea floor with the best deposits found closer to the shore in shallower water. This means-

Minister of Defense slated to visit the Raj

August 5th, 2034: Today the Ministry of Defense announced the visit of former Arcadian General, SGEN. Jonathan McHale who is now the Minister of Defense is to meet with National Territorial Defense Force officials from the Raj to oversee the creation of pro-Arcadian militias made up of Potthani expats and refugees, and the new Raj rapid defense doctrine. Several leaders(Elder Nel Elder Jaxim and Arch-Elder Nagal) from pro-democratic factions in Potthan are also suspected to be at the meeting. The meeting is to take place in New Casatolo, next week. The expected number of militia members is unknown and after a victory in Potthan are expected to be the first Generation of Potthani NTDF members for the Arcadian Empire. General Domni Fajjitian(NTDF) was also recently appointed to look over the new militias. The Commonwealth Defense Department has released this statement

" The Potthani NTDF's formation will ensure Arcadian forces the trust of the locals, and knowledge of the land. The new garrison will help us in the regions of Potthan if fighting breaks out. Since they contain knowledge of the cultures in the land most of the Empires soldiers may not know. Empire forces will benefit from the advantages brought by from the Potthan Militias."

Meanwhile the new defense strategy is met by stiff resistance from several staff in the ministry of defense and is slated for a large field test, which has drawn the attention of former Arcadian war hero and now minister of Defense McHale. If the strategy proves successful many can expect mass implementation of the strategy across the Raj and possibly the Empire.

New Economic Report Released

A new general report detailing changes in the economy and country, compiled by the Presidents Office, and economic ministries, has revealed recent trends. Over the last months, President Safadi has expressed desires to bring Kolechia into a stronger role within Bazh. To do so he also previously highlighted building a better economy. The report was supported by independent groups who monitor different sectors, industries and topics. Several trends have caught more attention than others.

Concerning the average income of citizens across the board, income has increased by just over 6%, a large and welcomed change to many families. The average income was effected by a recent stagnation and other untimely factors that lasted for a short duration. It began to threaten hopes for some, in the economy just after the President took over. Worse yet, in February and March it decreased. However the report reveals the average income is now about P51,846 per household.

Another widely discussed fact is the still increasing GDP. The economic output, nationally speaking has been steadily increasing since March of last year. Recent trade deals and economic agreements are believed to be one of the main factors for its continued increase, even in the face of threats. One part of the report that will no doubt please the new administration is the increase in the Manufacturing sector, which has increased by just under 5% over the last month alone, specifically in automobile manufacturing, arms manufacturing, and the timber industry. The Agriculture sector also increased output by just under 5%.

However, other parts of the report warn of increasing government costs, though they are considerably small still. The most alarming sector that has not gone unnoticed, is the rise of the black market. It shows it has increased in productivity by just over 6%, and like the GDP has been increasing since March of last year. There has already been a noted increase in crime, and the police believe that nationally, small scale criminal organizations have been strengthened.

In the meantime, the government will no doubt but try to increase this small but noticeable break, and try to continue pushing the country ahead into what they desire, a new chapter.

ANTIETAM, Castille de Italia — Despite overnight negotiations between Social Party officials and detractors led by Senator Jacques Perier, the Social Party has officially disbanded in a dispute over party doctrine and policy. As a result, the Popular Unionist Party (PU) and the Loyalist Party (L) have formed, the former led by Senator Perier and the latter by General Secretary of the Senate Remy Dusfrene, with the Loyalist Party remaining the ruling party. The Popular Unionist Party has replaced the Labour Party as the Premier's Most Loyal Opposition.

Furthermore, the composition of the the Grand Castillian Senate has changed, leading to the Loyalist's securing the majority with a razor-thin one seat lead over the Popular Unionist's, 21 to 20, with the other 9 belonging to the Labour Party and the Closian National Party.

"This is a huge win for our democracy," Senator Perier said in a press conference earlier Monday. "It shows that the legislature and the elected representatives of the people are not afraid to stand up to the highest echelons of power in our Union and make the right decisions."

On the other hand, Mountbatten Manor Press Secretary Gilles Peterson detested the split. "Today we have seen the stability of a party that represented freedom, liberty, and good moral values crushed by ignorance, greed, corruption, and immorality. The Popular Unionist Party does not, and will not represent the values of the Union, of the Premier, and of democracy. It will be the position of this administration to vehemently oppose the actions of the Popular Unionist's, and protect all Castillians."

A survey conducted by Premier's College Antietam found that nearly 61% of voters are happy about the split, 31% opposed, and 8% indifferent about the split. Furthermore, a poll conducted by Dusquene Gulf University found that in a hypothetical general election matchup between Senator Perier and incumbent Premier Henry Adams that Perier would win, 53-47%. Furthermore, an early poll on Senatorial elections found that with the new composition of the Senate, that the Popular Unionists would gain 6 seats if an election were held then, effectively making them the ruling majority in the Senate.

Two Years on Shadow of Unrest Remains

Two years after the conclusion of the Coltarian annexation of Istegium, the remains of the unrest beforehand still haunt the local population. Since the conclusion of Operation Just Worth nearly two years ago, 3 Coltarian soldiers and 45 civilians have been killed by unexploded ordinance left over from the chaos that ensued after the collapse of the previous government. "When the Istegian government collapsed entire government arsenals disappeared overnight." says Col. Patrick Morris, head of the Imperial Engineer Corps responsible for the clean up. "Some of the stockpiles we have found are amazing, hand grenades, AT missiles, but the worst are the land mines. Some groups were using them to control territory after the collapse." There are at least 2,500 square miles of mine fields in Istegium, and clean up has been slow thanks to a lack of maps and records. Currently there are 150 engineers and 450 volunteers carrying out the removal of the dangerous explosives. The Department of Defense states that it expects the clean up to be mostly finished in 3 years, with the caveat that some explosives may never be recovered. Macabea, The Macabees - To what has been seen as a shocking turn of policy by the Castillian Social Union, a resolution has been passed by the Grand Senate which would later be announced by the Defense Secretariat on the beginning of raiding of Ralkovian and Ordenite shipping. The Castillian decision comes with no suprise with the rise in tension within Dienstad over the involvement of Slaver regimes in the far-west in disrupting and promoting their ways through the region. However as the Potthan conflict continues and with what has been told about Ralkovian involvement on the side of the Potthan regime. The addition of the Ordenites comes to a bigger surprise as ever, the last spat between the Castillian Social Union and the Reich was over the establishment of a CNSS in exile within the Reich, headed by the infamous, Chancellor Vaughn and others close to him along with millions of Castillian "refugees" who have fled during the coming of the Castillian Social Union. However after the apparent split within the reigning Social Party which led to it's very collapse and split into two new parties. However it seems that the two parties are together in one aspect in the form of their new raiding policy in the seas of Dienstad. In response It has been noted by sources that the Ordenite Kreigsmarine has dispatched a U-boot Flotilla to it's various shipping routes throughout Central Dienstad. This has in turn led to the proliferation of Ordenite submarines now prowling the seas in which the same Navy during it's most recent conflict in Krasnova, utilized it's Navy in sinking shipping of enemy countries, the same tactic may see use again against Castillian merchant vessels and any raiding vessels they might encounter.

LETTER OF NOTICE OF A BILL SIGNED INTO LAW RESOLUTION TO ENFORCE FREE TRADE POLICIES THROUGH SUBJUGATING ENEMY SHIPPING "For the Prosperity of the People" Addressing the International Community of Greater Dienstad and Beyond, In an unprecedented act of tripartisan legislating by the Popular Unionist Party, the Loyalist Party, and the Closian National Party in the Grand Castillian Senate, the Resolution to Enforce Free Trade Policies Through Subjugating Enemy Shipping has been passed in a historic 26-25 vote, with the vote of General Secretary of the Senate Remy Duquesne breaking the tie in an 'aye', with the bill being signed at my desk by my hand one this day of our Lord in the year of two-thousand and twenty-eight. The Ralkovian Empire and the Ordenite Reich remain the single largest threat to continued peace and prosperity in Greater Dienstad, therefore by eliminating the economic assets of these nation's trading routes, and furthermore undermine the trading of these nation's through aggressive embargos of shipping to countries in the Orient of Dienstad, where the Union's sphere of influence is more prevalent. RMAF Steps Up Maritime Patrols

RMAF-. In response to rising tensions between the Castillian Social Union and the Ordenite Reich, and its Ralkovian allies, the Royal Morridane Air Force had announced that it will be stepping up its maritime patrols and deploying extra squadrons.

The move has been welcomed by the Royal Morridane Navy which has stated that the extra aircraft will help its ongoing anti-slaver patrols and anti-submarine efforts in such areas as the Gulf of Mordent, particularly since the aircraft have been confirmed as the long-range Canadair Argus. Two squadrons will be deployed to Mordent, another two to Tuktar and it is understood that talks are underway to acquire use of Stevidian airfields to base a fifth squadron. Tuktar will be the key to getting these aircraft to the West, the city state now a link in an air route between Morrdh and Mordent via New Garrack, Tuktar and Stevid. Each leg is comfortably within the Argus' range, other aircraft in the RMAF's fleet will require either aerial refuelling or take a route with much shorter legs such as the land route through the Protectorate of Lyras.

Though as of yet it is unclear whether the Castillians have been approached to co-ordinate efforts.

Today Arcadian forces are being moved in Barjaanistan, following an agreement between FASC and Potthan. Barjannistan's former military personnel have been called back to report to duty stations to defend the new territory of FASC. While the agreement is not final, the signing of the contract will be in Hamman. The Arcadian Chancellor is scheduled to meet with the Emperor of Potthan later this week.

In other news riots have broken out in Urlistan, in the former Green Union, and Arcadian Military Forces were given the green light by Parliament. After the riot in Puffin point, that left 38 dead, and 120 injured. Confirmed reports say some rebels went to the protest armed and fired and local police, which caused the crackdown on the protest. Following this, Arcadian soldiers are being deployed to Urlistan to stabilize the nation.

Mean While in the Arcadian Raj, Military combat drills were launched between the Federal Army and the NTDF simulating and invasion of the Raj, the drill is expected to last several more days, and Minister of Defense McHale, has conlcuded his meeting with the Raj's NTDF Garrison command.

In Casatolo , the house of commons is stuck in a gridlock on the new bill proposed by the Social Democratic Party to block the construction of a hydro electric plant at sea that could power the continent of Utes. The Federal party is blocking the Bill while the Constitutional Party is pushing with the Social Democrats to pass the bill.

ANTIETAM, Castille de Italia — In response to the growing tensions between powers in Greater Dienstad and the recent passing of a law in the Grand Castillian Senate authorizing the raiding of Ralkovian and Ordenite shipping, the Defense Secretariat has mobilized roughly half of the inactive naval power, in preparation for what will be a battle for naval supremacy on the high seas across the region.

A combined fleet of roughly four-hundred surface warfare ships have been dispatched from numerous naval bases in the Union to Kassaran, along with an estimate of half a million to two-million troops expected to accompany the growing military buildup in Kassaran over the next few months. While widely predicted to be in the hundred-something range, the exact number of submarines that have been dispatched to escort naval forces and enforce the new shipping policies is classified.

The massive undertaking is widely expected in response to the Ralkovian vassalization of Potthan, which came shortly after the Sixth Expeditionary Fleet arrived to Potthan to enforce the Premier's 'Punitive Measures', as well as renewed Ordenite ambitions in the former Red Star Union, now divided into the Krasnovan Republic, the Union of Eastern Star Soviet (or simply, Zvezda), and the Morridane-backed city-state of Tuktar.

The recent military mobilizations also come as a product of the new Senate composition, as the Premier's Loyalist Party holds a razor-thin majority in the Senate, and the Closian National Party has come hand-in-hand with the Popular Unionists to take command of the legislature.

In a press briefing yesterday, Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Horatio Martin stated that talks are being held with the Kingdom of Imbrinium on a joint initiative to bring certain states within Greater Dienstad into compliance with the CASTLE Accords.

"With the threat of fascism and slavery larger than ever, the Union has committed itself to the non-proliferation of these vitriolic ideologies, and under the auspices of the State and Defense Secretariats, as well as the Premier's Home Office, will work with anti-slaver states such as Imbrinium to eliminate these threats."

The Defense Secretariat has also allocated approximately $300 billion of the national surplus to the Navy for acquisition of more vessels, equipment, and personnel to win the war on the high seas.

Berlina, Germania - For the past two weeks diplomats from the Ordenite government have been in several intense meetings with the government of the Krasnova Republic on what had been arranged to discuss the geopolitical situation of the two countries and current threats that both sides fair against. It came more so as a plea for help once again as the sovereign Krasnovan state suffered from food shortages due to the affects of the 2nd Krasnovan War where Mokan bombers targeted farms and agricultural sites with impunity and with the desire to punish the population whom rejected the would be Mokan usurpers and their Zvezdan puppets who were used as meat shields in both conflicts over the war weary continent. The current President of the Krasnovan state, Viktor Kendrov who now has served as President for over 5 years in which most of those years were during times of struggle and warfare to secure a true Krasnovan nation out of the tentacles of the communists. He met personally with the small entourage of Ordenite diplomats who exchanged friendly greetings and proceeded into their meetings. Out of these meetings, the Krasnovan Republic has passed legislation to allow the Deutsche Kriegsmarine basing rights to several locations. In return, the Krasnovan state has been granted a trade agreement between the Ordenite nation and the Krasnovan Republic, along with additional humanitarian relief as well. The Krasnovan Republic Armed Forces have also been promised several modernization programs headed by the Ordenite Wehrmacht and would mean a 2 billion Reichsmarks deal and the modernization of the KRAF for it's future roles in the reunification of the continent under the Krasnovan nation and it's protection.

Stevid Criticises Morrdh Over Tuktar
Conroy hits out at Mórrdun over its holding on to the devastated city

Prime Minster Conroy has spoken out strongly against the decision by the Commonwealth of Morrdh to hold on to the ruined city of Tuktar in the north of former Red Star Union (Zvezda). The city was a major flashpoint in the Kashubia War between an allied coalition of nations, including Stevid, and the Fourth Reich of the United World Order.

The war involved several nations supporting the Mokan-backed militia fighting in Kashubia, but international attention became more focused when reports of mass killings by the Fourth Reich began to trickle into world news. Eventually a coalition invasion, led by Holy Marsh and Stevid in the north of the country met up with allied forces moving from the east and encircled Tuktar. The endgame was for the establishment of the Eastern Star Soviet to be final and/or the full removal of the United World Order. Neither fully came to pass as the war reached a nuclear conclusion.

The Holy Empire committed a whole airborne division, several armoured infantry battalions, an Astratii naval fleet and hundreds of aircraft to the conflict in which nearly two thousand service personnel lost their lives.

However, in a bizarre twist, the Commonwealth of Morrdh retained its troops in Tuktar whilst their regional allies departed. The reasons given were to keep the peace and allay fears the locals had of rival gangs and guerrilla movements disrupting the way of life. However it appears that the intention of the Commonwealth was probably annexation all along as a haphazardly arranged referendum ended with a vote for joining the Commonwealth.

In a statement to Parliament, PM Conroy stated: “Given that the war was not fought by the Empire and her allies in order to further divide an already incredibly unstable territory, the Commonwealth of Morrdh thought it prudent to put its name on the ballot sheet while seemingly feigning support for the idea. Given that the very notion of taking the city would end in it being held perpetually by the victors, other than RSU, is blatant veiled imperialism in the face of established culture and local politics. The coalition was formed to prevent the Fourth Reich taking the land by preventing genocide and supporting the Mokan-backed government – NOT divide and conquer!”

The Prime Minister continued to berate the referendum idea by drawing on the lack of local knowledge or the geo-political ramifications of a separation: “Instead we see yet another set of random map lines shaded in an assortment of colours with no effort being made as to the addressing of the cultural and international impact of such a rushed vote. A plot of land Morrdh has never outwardly expressed any interest in, decides to but their name on the ballot paper, have no involvement in the election process, and yet manages to win having only months before participated in the near total destruction of the city.
“I for one do not believe for a second that the very people Morrdh, Stevid and Lamoni, subjected to daily bombardment for a month and the near razing of the city would ever vote to join afterwards.”

The criticism clearly shows the political rift between the two nations has still not healed and that the Empire is clearly not happy with the ‘cloak-and-dagger’ land grab by the Commonwealth. Cross-party discussion in the House denounced the former close ally further by suggesting, although without any hard evidence, that there were darker political machinations behind the scenes during the referendum in that it was only too convenient for Morrdh to distance itself completely from the election and the idea of retaining the territory, whilst no protesting the option of joining the Commonwealth being on the ballot paper, and then accepting the result as a fortunate twist of fate.

There was even loud opposition to the involvement of Lamoni and Lyras as election invigilators for even allowing the vote to take place seeing as it was essentially a foreign invasion and the foreigners imposing democratic vote that included separation to an otherwise random foreign entity.

Further opposition towards Lamoni’s and Morrdh’s handling of the election was that it was fully orchestrated by Morrdh, invigilated by allies and won by the seemingly nonchalant party. Given the lack of input and public information on Morrdh’s part, a Commonwealth victory seemed impossible. Stevid has lauded the fact that this result actually occurred as a ‘democratic travesty’ with further such statements coming from backbenchers like: ‘farcical freedom’. It is believed that the government is preparing an official statement condemning the election as illegitimate or otherwise non-binding, stating that it was hastily put together and rushed within a timeline of less than three months and in the wake of complete and utter devastation.

If one was starting to think the rift in relations between the Holy Empire and the Commonwealth was beginning to mend then this public declaration in parliament by PM Conroy will probably force a change in opinion. Outwardly, it appears that the Empire is still very displeased with the Commonwealth and its more clandestine political activities.

Claims that the elections are illegitimate are not exactly unsubstantiated. Tuktar was almost wiped off the map by Morridane and Lamonian ground troops, and by the massive bombing campaign led by Stevid leaving the city in ruins. Given the shock of war, the abrupt nuclear end to the conflict and allied pre-agreed war goals and endgame aims (supposedly), the Morridane seizure of territory in the north of Kashubia is very much a surprise.

It would be hypocritical for the Empire to completely lambast the Commonwealth’s land grab; Stevid is one of the region’s biggest culprits of imperialism. However the methods are what seemed to have rattled the Empire considering there was supposedly an agreement between nations prior to the invasion of UWO held Kashubia of what they are looking for from the war. Clearly the Empire believes the seizure of land was not an option and the less than plausible result of the election seems to reinforce this belief.

On paper the election appears legitimate with international observers of Lamoni and Lyras supposedly involved. But closer and well-informed scrutiny pulls apart what starts to look like a very thinly veiled attempt to ‘legitimise’ an otherwise illegal or controversial land grab of seemly un-strategic territory.

Firstly is the election itself. Quite rightly one should have been held for the people to decide what to be part of. But the question as to why the Commonwealth was an option should be asked, given the Commonwealth’s distinct lack of influence on this landmass - just off Lyras and Greal. Coupled with the nonchalance of the Commonwealth yet inaction surrounding their name on the ballot paper raises eyebrows and suspicion.

Secondly is the apparent win, coupled with the above points, it seems less than likely for such a result to occur. Lack of campaigning for the Commonwealth, and Morrdh itself deliberately distancing itself from the election (plus their actual involvement in the devastation of the city) “should” have wrought a different result.

Thirdly is the use of outside powers to monitor the election. While not wrong in its own right so as to provide transparency, there was no representation from those supporting the Fourth Reich/Kashubia – both were Morridane allies, one was involved as an attacking power with Morrdh, and both carry massive hard and soft power influence.

The result of the election is clearly contested and if it truly has been orchestrated behind the scenes then Morrdh may have acquired territory with deep and long lasting cultural divisions with infrastructure damage running into trillions of dollars.

Morrdh may have a ‘victory’ or sorts, but this prize will undoubtedly be a poisoned chalice that, in time, they’d rather not have drunk from.

Are relations getting worse?

This is the latest row in a string of objections the Holy Empire has had with their cousins from Morrdh stemming from the Great Dienstadii War a few years ago. Relations deteriorated when Morrdh refused to join the war on Stevid’s side but ended up participating anyway in their own capacity in Mordent and have steadily gotten worse. The diplomatic fallout from this was Stevidian withdrawal from the Commonwealth Colonial Authority, the withdrawal of Morridane access to several Stevidian military facilities and military intelligence, the redeployment of an Army Group from Mordent to Liberated America (an action that prompted Imbrinium to invade the Morridane half of the island), and the Stevidian refusal to launch nuclear weapons against the Crown in response to the WMD attack on Mordent.

Since then there have been limited, but progressive, overtures from both sides trying to warm relations towards the status quo. However this latest political gambit from the Commonwealth appears to have enraged the Stevidian government into a full diplomatic response.


There is yet no indication that there is any direct change in relations. Technically the Empire still considers the Commonwealth and ally but it should Morrdh require foreign aid (in whatever form) tomorrow, it is unlikely Stevid will heed the call given PM Conroy’s statement today.

There also growing signs of discontent within the corridors of power in Stevid Capita of the apparent warming of relations between the Commonwealth of Morrdh and the Protectorate of Lyras. Almost all olive branches from the Protectorate to the Holy Empire have been angrily rejected and there is a tangible resentment towards Lyras and definite mistrust towards most of their Covenant allies. Given the war between Morrdh and Imbrinium involved Lyras in a limited manner, it seems strange from the outset that Morrdh would befriend a former enemy so quickly.

It maybe that the Stevidian government is more than aware of this and trying to distance themselves away from not only an unreliable ally (in their eyes) but a politically unpredictable one too; the Tuktar vote with Lyran monitoring notwithstanding. Although this is merely conjecture at this stage, there does appear to be a major shift in the geo-political landscape in central Greater Dienstad where allegiances have been strained or broken and do not appear to be healing. The vote in Tuktar is amplifying this even more.

A response from Morrdh is anticipated and likely will try and refute the Empire’s allegations. Irrespective of this, the vote in Tuktar has caused massive division not only in the territory itself but also throughout the region of Greater Dienstad.

Vostok, Union of Eastern Star Soviets - In a state run press release sent out by the UESS, all foreign assets in country, from manufacturing centers to financial institutions, have been nationalized by the Soviet government and are now considered property of the state. Officially this move is in response to the increased presence of Ordernite activity in the area and to "limit the influence these foreign invaders have on [UESS] soil". This comes as a shock as many international companies, including the famous Montana Incorporated, had major deals with the government to set up weapons factories and other key industries in the nation. No doubt many international companies will now be looking for compensation for this takeover of their assets.

While numerous PMC organizations still have bases of operation inside the nation, many are reporting that they have been requested to leave by the Soviet government, but no set departure dates have been set. Many PMC organizations have noticed the Soviet government being quite cordial with them regarding their departure. It is possible that the Soviet government wants to maintain their image of kicking out foreigners, while keeping the PMCs on standby in case of open war with the Ordernite backed government.

Only time will tell how things play out in the already hostile nation of Zvezda.

Last week, in an effort to curb the growing violence between Marshites and Kogyokists in South East Aqua Anu that has left a dozen dead and over 50 hospitalized, Queen Gisella Villa issued an Royal Decree that any citizen or civilian in Aqua Anu found guilty of a hate crime, now their immediate families will be burdened as well. In addition to the seizing of assets, a guilty criminal will be forces to lead his family through the streets under the guard and protection of the Queen's Justice. Since most of the violence is between Neko Marshites and Kogyokists, they will be made to clean a holy building of the other religion, and kiss the feet of every patron visiting for an entire week. Seeing as both religions and cultures take pride an honor very seriously, this punishment of being forced to be submissive to their "opponents" is aimed to convince families and those closest to possible criminals to prevent their actions ahead of time. The Queen's Justice will be enforcing the protection of the families, and any harm that comes to them will be treated as another Hate Crime.

Commonwealth Extends Tuktar Olive Branch

TUKTAR.- As rows continue over Tuktar, the Commonwealth extends an olive branch to cool local tensions.

After hearing about food shortages in the Krasnova Republic, Her Excellency's Morridane Government has approached both the Krasnovan and Zvezdan governments with offers of humanitarian and medical aid. A government spokesperson stated that the offer was made to both governments out of fairness, citing that the Commonwealth didn't want to be seen favouring one nation over the other. It was stressed that if the offer of help was taken up that Morridane personnel such as medics and drivers would return to their billets in Tuktar at the end of each day and therefore would not be permanently staying in either nation. Additionally both nations have been offered the chance to setup consulates in Tuktar as well as an invitation to send observers to a referendum that the Tuktar and Morridane governments have jointly declared will be held in ten years time, Stevid is another nation that has been invited as well. Again, the Morridane government has stated that the administration and monitoring of the referendum will be given to a neutral third party that is acceptable to the majority.

In the meantime the gradual shift from military to civil power has been underway with the view of being completed by the government elections that are expected to be held next year. The Tuktar Health Authority has been recently created to provide universal healthcare across the city state, though military medical personnel from the Morridane Armed Forces will continue to supply the bulk of the manpower until enough civilian staff have been trained. The Tuktar Police Force has been steadily growing and taking over internal security duties, allowing Morridane soldiers to be freed up for border defence or withdrawn from Tuktar. Though the presence of soldiers in the form of the Royal Morridane Engineers are expected to be felt in Tuktar for some time as Morridane sappers help in the reconstruction efforts until the city state's main infrastructure is back up and running. Her Excellency's Morridane Government has stated that eventually it wishes to see the stage where it can simply focus on defence matters whilst leaving other affairs in local hands. Though it has also stated that will accept the results if the future referendum sees Tuktar joining either Krasnova or Zvezda, citing hopes to strike an agreement to stage aircraft travelling between Morrdh and Mordent with whoever the future power in Tuktar ends up being.

A recent survey in Tuktar showed that currently the future referendum seems to be largely a tie with a good third of those questioned declaring 'uncertain'.

In this second informative edition of Defending the Skies, we were given exclusive access to Regiment Commander Azhie-Naya of 133rd Radar Regiment from newly formed branch Radiotronic Troops under purview of Haize Aerospace Defense Forces. As part of intensive modernization of Haize Armed Forces, Regiment Commander Azhie-Naya is tasked with one of critical informational activity for the Junta. Nihatzi Regiment Commander Azhie-Naya. Can you tell us on the works of 133rd Radar Regiment?

Nihatzi, just Azhie is fine. The work of 133rd Radar Regiment is very important; as the vanguards of Haize Aerospace Defense Forces, we detect and warn for other Troops. Think us like a man with a lantern at night, to keep interlopers out from disrupting our homeland. It's a noble duty, more noble than a canary in cage.

Thank you for your courtesy and answer, Mister Azhie. How does the Regiment know to look? With radars? But radars are limited to line of sight, right?

If we think like usual, yes, radars are limited to line of sight. But what we use is over the horizon radar; in this radar, we point the beam upwards and then it will get reflected by the ionosphere, similar to how mirror deflect lights. This allow us to look beyond our physical borders, up three thousand kilometers away. Everything in that range is seen, from ships to aircraft.

That is amazing, Mister Azhie. But since it is three thousand kilometers away, how does the Troops know what to look out for?

Hmm....I can't talk much about this but think filters, filters in your smartphone. You take a picture and then you can make it gray with a filter option right? It is fundamentally the same; our radar will first emit and get the picture. Then powerful algorithms and math models, developed by our smart citizens, allow us to figure out what is that contact, whether it is an aircraft or a ship. What we look for is stuff that don't fit on what we know in civilian domain; flying objects that do not match with public data on legal flights and travel.

I see. I have a question from one of our avid readers; can the Regiment detect stealth objects?

Absolutely! Any stealth, cannot work in the wavelength of our equipment; they use wavelengths of more than a decameter. Stealth are ordinarily optimized for centimeter bands. At our RLS, we can see them easily, see where are they in an approximate way. Stealth ship and aircraft falls flat against our long range equipment. They cannot beat the law of physics.

Okay. For how long have the 133rd Radar Regiment be operational? From what I know, the Radiotronic Troops are newly instated

Early this year. After our satellites were destroyed, the Defense Ministry demanded the Aerospace Forces to cover the void of information; we cannot be defenceless in information domain. So my Regiment and others were created to quickly fill the gap, to keep watch over Haishan and its neighbours. Suffice to say, we can now look into Mokan Federation airspace, see what kind of aircraft is currently flying there, in real time. We're hoping the Troops will be able to complete radar coverage external to Haishan.

Amazing. By the way, you talked about destruction of Haize satellites. How does the Regiment factor in restoring our lost capabilities?

The Regiment and Radiotronic Troops not only focus on early detection, but we also have a hand in communications. Like I said earlier, our satellite relays were lost. So in cooperation of Haize best minds, we devised series of equipment to support our troops. One thing I can disclose is that we use the Moon as one-way communication. We bounce radiowaves at the Moon and it will reach our troops, like a satellite. Unlike artificial satellites, they can't shoot down the Moon, haha.

Ishikawa - The entire Nifonese nation today became stunned upon a blatanant crime committed by the members of self proclaimed "Potthani Death Squads", a nationalist paramilitary currently operating in Potthan with an official permission of the Potthani emperor, murdered two off - duty soldiers of the Imperial Nifonese Army who were currently at vacation in the city of Bokan. Following the public disclosure of tape containing a graphic execution of the two men, a wave of public outcry swept across the Empire, with countless mobs demanding instant retribution. Kojiro-sama, inspired by that, publicly condemned the actions and, in graphic words, announced issuing an ultimatum aimed at the Potthani government, calling for imminent permission for the Nifonese state to punish the offenders - or face graphic retaliation.

The murder has been committed yesterday evening on Lt. Yokohana Toshihiro & Sgt. Fujihara Akihiko, two off - duty officers visiting Bokan as tourists. About 21.00 a black van carrying several armed men drove by. Witnesses confirmed that the officers (both of which were part of 21th Logistics Battalion in 14th Dokoryotai) were subsequently kidnapped and driven into unknown place. A tape with recordings of their execution, authenticated by Gunpeitai, has been released publicly this morning. Both men met their deaths like true samurai, without a word, eagerly giving their lives for Honor, Nifon and the Lord of Heaven.

This dishonorable act has been perpetuated by the Potthani Death Squads; an official irregular branch of the Potthani state, formed in 1914 as a result of Kavashi uprisings. The militia has currently been accused of several acts of violent terrorism and murder. It received several endorsements from the current Emperor of Potthan, whom it claims to serve.

The murder caused an outrage among the Nifonese nation. Aware that honor demands an action to be taken, countless Nifonese went to the streets, burning Potthani flags and desecrating likenesses of Potthani deities. In the words of Inoue Kenji, a warrior-pastor from Heavenly Grace Church "The oni that rule Potthan have thrown an open challenge to the Lord of Heaven; and their followers are completely unaware of the tyger they awakened. His army is assembling right now! Let every Nifonese know that giving his death for uprooting of the territorial oni that currently posses the fat carcass of the Potthani emperor is a noble and holy deed! Fear not and be merciful to your foes, for he shall guide you in battle!"

Kojiro-sama, addressing the nation today at 12.00:

"The Potthani gaijin have underestimated the foe they challenged" he said: "We are not some minpon liberals that will merely scream upon such an offense. Honor demands that the Nifonese state take an action against those who dare to target us for no reason. I am, however merciful and thus am going to announce an ultimatum, text of which will be soon delivered to his majesty the Emperor of Potthan. I am giving him three days to answer. The ultimatum is going to demand payment of a proper sum in gold as reparation, and permission for the Nifonese state to punish offenders that committed this dishonorable act on Potthani territory regardless of their rank and status. Should the Potthani government refuse to accept those terms, they can expect to be drowned in a sea of autumn water that will leave not a single brick of the Imperial Palace standing!"

It is unknown what measures are currently taken, but knowing that Maki Kojiro has a tendency to follow up on his words, the Potthani government can expect to be worried...

Attack on FASC!

August 21st, 2017: In the early dawn of the 21st Troops from the Ralkovian Grand Island attacked the FASC protectorate of Barjaanistan, this unprovoked attack on the Federation of Arcadian States and Commonwealths, has many in outrage, FASC forces from Barjaanistan are in a withdrawal from the region, the GD arm of the FASC empire has been placed on alert and vessels of the Royal Navy are expecting attacks from the Ralkovian Grand Island in open waters. Following this unprovoked attack forces on the Raj have been placed on alert, Chancellor Waters has yet to release a statement while Minister of Defense McHale had this to say "This blatant unprovoked attack on a protectorate of the Federation of Arcadian States and Commonwealths is an act of war. The Federation will not tolerate this, endangerment and attack on Arcadian nationals."

These strong words came after the confirmed deaths of 11 Arcadian soldiers, with over thirty injured. The three frigates near the coast of Potthan have fallen under attack but none have sunk. The Colonial Fleet is preparing for war in the coming days, defenses at the Raj were put on standby following the attack. FASC a newly formed federation from a time tested empire, is now thrust into its first war as one unitary nation. Many Arcadians watch and wait for the next move of the Federation. Avalon, Relica - Word has come from the Capital of Relica, Avalon, through sources in the Ministry of State, that the nation is in the process of establishing diplomatic relations with several neighboring nations which would include the construction of embassies inside the capital. At this time we have been unable to confirm with whom the negotiations have been with, but it is expected that the first of the new embassies could be built by years’ end. ORDER 17A BEFORE HIGH COUNCIL

Unionia, Relica - Order 17A, regarding the return of conscription for all male citizens aged 18 years for a service term of two years, has been presented to the High Council for official vote which is expected to take place in the coming days. The order, which had been in revision for several weeks, would require male citizens aged eighteen to twenty-four to register for state service. Those conscripted would be subject to placement into training for either the armed forces, state department or national police force. The order, drafted and proposed due to the current instability both internally and across the region, has been a source of contention across the nation. Regardless the order, Order 17A, is expected to be signed into law before months’ end. This would return mandatory service for the first time in the last decade.
