Character Application:
Name: Pierce (as she named herself), or Alpha.

Age: Unknown. Physically, around 17-18.

Race: A Nameless, Deceased People.

Gender: Female

Appearance:
Image

Powers:
  • Telepathy: As a natural trait of her species,
she is capable of sending meaning and words directly into the minds of others. The only issue is that she cannot receive from those other than telepaths.
  • Invisibility: An ability gifted to her by the shards while adrift, she gained the ability to bend electromagnetic wavelengths around her body. It acts as a reactive ability when she is threatened, but has the potential to be controlled. While invisible, she still gives off infrared wavelengths and displays a level of distortion as the visible spectrum is bent around her, making it look like a heat mirage.
  • Light Manipulation: Along with her newfound tendency to vanish when startled, she found herself capable of manipulating light in various other ways. She could create invisible barriers so packed with photons that almost anything in contact with them dissolves into a plasma, or create platforms that she could walk on with the assistance of the Alpha. Focusing, bending, and redirecting these various frequencies is all within the realm of reality for her. The only issue is that she cannot create light from nothing, weakening this ability in dark, cold areas.
  • Alien Prosthesis: After a severe accident to test the limits of her physical capabilities, she unfortunately lost her right arm. In response to this, a replacement was quickly grafted onto the remains.
  • Cybernetic Enhancements: There are limits to biology, and her race understood that with their proficiency in gene manipulation. Conductors were grafted to her bones, artificial muscles were put in place,
and her neural network was given a series of shortcuts to make her just that much faster.
  • The Alpha: Similar to nanomachines, a metallic substance exists throughout her body, and is one of the most important enhancements that have ever been made to her body. It is capable of enhancing the neural network that is her brain, becoming a part of it, expanding her mental capabilities. Alongside this, it can create necessary bypasses if any important arteries are ruptured, temporarily replace damaged tissue in her organs, seal bleeding wounds, (But it in no way heals her. Without proper medical attention, death is unavoidable) and create a number of constructs on or separate from her body.

Entrance Exam:

Optional!

Likes: Humanity, Self-Improvement, Sweet foods, knowledge, and adrenaline.

Dislikes: Small Cats, Death, the guilt that sits on her chest, electromagnetic fields, and being manipulated.

Name: Tyler Rowe

Age: 18

Race: Human

Gender: Male

Appearance: Face

Tyler is 5'9 and weighs about 160 pounds, and thats about it.

Powers:

Solar Manipulation: Tyler can manipulate solar energies, being able to turn his entire body into solar energy, being able to create solar fires and energies as throwable objects. He is also immune to fire and solar (UV) radiation, aswell as supreme heat. Although he can control the solar energy inside him, it is potentially dangerous when he controls it physically.
Electromagnetism: The electric currents within Tyler due to his solar power, which is that of a small but powerful solar entity, generate a complex magnetic field around him that he can use as a power due to his body being its own self contained 'sun'. He can rip apart, levitate metal, shape metal, control metal, and damage objects that run on electricty. Unfortunately he is not good with holding and shaping metal as he is powerful enough to destroy it to the point where its useless to him, making him unable to stop, per say, falling metal objects from falling without crushing it or fracturing it into smaller pieces.
Levitation: Using solar energy in an effect that can propel him forward, Tyler can levitate up to 15 feet above the ground. He has not yet learned controlled flight.
Enhanced strength: Using the energy within him as power Tyler is capable of lifting large weights, equal to about 5 average 5-seater cars.
Entrance Exam:

Tyler stepped up now. It was his turn against one of the robotic exam devices. The area was heavily marked with signs that people with all different kinds of powers had battled against a robot here, and the air was strong with the scent of burning metal.

He stayed quiet, and in several seconds the robot declared the 'exam' to begin. At once Tyler began to attempt and crush the robot with his electromagnetic power, however the robot slammed into him, knocking him back several feet. As he got up a shot a beam of something that could be compared to fire at the robot, which in turn dodged it by spinning around and nearly hitting Tyler. Rowe ducked and slid out the way, firing another beam of sunfire into the robots direction, hitting it in the leg and burning through. The robot swung at Tyler, who lifted his hand in a attempt to deflect it. Due to his strength the blow only knocked him back a foot. His fist was covered in the same 'energy' that he shot at the robot.

Tyler punched the robot in his upper area, sending it flying into the wall. As it was down Rowe launched a beam into the robot, pushing a hole through it. The robot still managed to stand up, but not before it fell over, unable to function. Tyler looked up, having defeated the construct.

Am back. Sorry for being gone. Think I have character ideas and just wanted to make sure the species would be okay. One is a dragon/human hybrid, the other not quite dragon, but still reptile/lizard type hybrid. Would those be good or do I need to fit them more into the lore somehow?

Reptiles and humans can't breed with eachother. For... Obvious reasons. But there's no hybridization between species here.

Meant that they had human forms as well that can be switched between, my bad on not being clearer. But also no worries, will adjust to fit better.

Name: Auduliya-Zhenlinn Qrombapoulas

Age: Technically hundreds by normal count, but since they've skipped more than a few years of human history, 18

Race: Chiefly Caucasoid Semi-Human(Was born completely human, but slowly drifted in many ways, even genetically, from humans, and now can be considered nothing short of a subspecies)

Gender: It's complicated. Usually considered a ‘she’, though.

Appearance:
Image

Powers: Shapeshifting based chiefly in mimicry. Auduliya can only shapeshift into forms that she has seen, including colours. As a result, she has become fairly skilled in art, so she can transfer her visual ideas to paper, and then use them to grow her pool of aspects which she can use to shapeshift, though seeing things in person is still vastly superior.

Furthermore, Auduliya can travel through time to a certain degree. When travelling backwards in time, she enters a spectral state, where she cannot directly interact with anything in the past, but may sense anything happening at the given time, leaving the spectral state only when she reaches a point at which she travelled back in time.

When travelling forwards in time, Auduliya disappears until she reaches the period of time she wants, but this ability has two major flaws. Most importantly, if an object obstructs the area where she is supposed to appear, she loses almost all control of her time travelling, as she is either spit back to the time where she tried to travel forward from, or is launched further into the future. The other notable flaw with travelling forward in time is that she has less control over when she reappears the further into the future she attempts to travel.

Finally, Auduliya can bring other beings and objects with her by touching them with one of her hands, though travelling with others drains her mentally and physically much more than when she is bringing nothing with her. This combination of limitations makes Auduliya fairly reluctant to use her time travelling abilities, making her rather unskilled in controlling them.

Entrance Exam: As I stepped into the room, I saw a deactivated robot. For a moment, it seemed as though I might have gotten off easy, and that perhaps overshooting my destinations by years might have worked out for me. But just my luck. As I pondered the possibility of my good fortune, the android activated with a blinding flash of light. I covered my normal eyes, and opened my secondary pair, which I usually kept closed simply because my brain still hadn't quite gotten used to processing visual stimulation from four eyes at once.

As it turned out, this second pair ended up saving me from a rather unfortunate ending, as I saw the android leaping towards me, its presumed blinded target, just in time to scoot away so that the android was only able to step on one of my toes. It was certainly about time to use my shapeshifting, since four eyes wouldn't keep saving me forever. I kicked off my shoes, as they'd surely be ripped to shreds otherwise. As I began to develop my arms into wings, and feet into talons, I continued to have to switch sets of eyes as the android continued to make blinding flashes of light, and lunge towards me.

After something like two or three more rounds of this, my form had shifted. As I tried to take off from the base of the stage, the android got one over on me by grabbing me and flinging upwards. I just barely caught myself from plummeting straight into the stage, though I was at least now airborne. I flew upwards, and dove for the android as a raptor would for its unsuspecting prey, and, just as it deployed another flash, I crashed into its neck, talons first, and its head popped off. I, unfortunately, did not gracefully land, but rather crashed and slid across the remainder of the arena, knocking the wind out of me. I snapped the ulna and radius in my right arm, sprained my left hand, and could barely catch my breath, but I'd at least still won. As they carried me back to the infirmary, my arms and feet painfully returned to their normal forms.

In the infirmary, I awaited my new classmates as hand brace was adjusted, and I grew a second pair of arms just below the first. If I'd have been any other student, I'd have just resigned to waiting for my body to heal. But I was a shapeshifter, and a stubborn one at that. Even if it'd move my injured parts sometimes during the night, at least I'd still have a pair of functional arms and hands. Surely I wouldn't be the most bizarre looking being at an intergalactic educational centre?

Optional!

Likes: Food, but only good food; intelligence; efficiency; and language

Dislikes: Waiting. To the point that they'll grow new body parts while waiting for the originals to heal. Sometimes the extras go away, sometimes not; foolishness. Just like waiting, most anything that wastes time annoys Auduliya to no end; change, as it usually prevents boredom; and sweat, for personal reasons.

Name: Scar Barrett

Age: 20

Race: Dragon

Gender: Male

Appearance: Scaly skin the color of sun scorched rock. Short, thick tar-black hair. Sharp golden eyes with vertical slit pupils. Thickly built skull with oversized jaw. Lean, densely muscled form. Oddly angled ears. Short, slightly hooked nails on hands and feet. Large jagged teeth and sharp tongue. Two diagonal scars across left eye.

Powers: Shapeshift between a fully dragon form and human that still shows hints of dragonic traits. Can spew fire from mouth in both, though the flame is much more intense in his full form. Very strong in human form, though very much weakened from dragon form. Regeneration that although not instantaneous, will heal most wounds in a short time and tremendous ones over a longer span. Can withstand incredibly high temperatures comfortably and although not his favored environment, extremely low ones as well. Features such as teeth, claws, etc. offer natural weapons.
Entrance Exam: Scar growled into the featureless space of the exam room, knowing what he had to do with the one other occupant but not very happy with circumstances. He was fine with taking on a robot, craved the challenge even. But it did not sit well with him that Wailu would have to do the same on her own. He did the fighting for them whenever there was any to do and kept her out of it as much as possible. Sure he had tried to teach her some things so she could at least be not completely defenseless, but she lacked the raw power and killer instinct that fueled his kind, limiting her success in applying anything she knew. These things better be programmed to not be lethal.
He would find out soon, the mechanical entity across from him powering up with a whir. He prepared himself, taking a sturdy stance and hissing violently on instinct as usual against challengers. It of course does not deter the bot, the machine continuing to march towards him. The dragon uses his go-to attack, taking a deep inhale before bright orange flames erupted from his mouth and covered his opponent like a wave. He keeps this up for some seconds to ensure the damage his done, his flames much weaker in his current form. He eventually relents, the fire dying down only to reveal an unscathed robot hidden behind a shimmering force field.
Scar grits his teeth. Shifting would bring a quick end to this battle, but even he would laugh at himself for having to use such a measure for one opponent of this type. And his pride would not allow that. He had to dismantle this thing by hand then.
The dragon charges with purpose, thrusting his hand out to tear through his mechanical adversary, only to be stopped by a barrier again. The bot takes the opportunity and slams its own fist into his head, the blow angering Scar all the more. He catches the next punch in a death grip and returns fire with his own, this time breaking whatever joints held its neck in place and twisting the head around. He rips the arm from its socket and swing with it now, a new barrier stopping him once more.
Scar now roared, furious at this enemy hiding behind some shield and beat at the defense again. He used fists, feet, his own head, anything that could be used to inflict harm. The barrier seemed to be holding but the one behind it was being forced backward with each blow, eventually being put on its back but still trying to hold strong.
Scar's efforts only intensified as he hammered harder now. He would drive this thing through the floor if he had to. But the repeated trauma proved too much, the barrier eventually shattering when it was pushed against the bot and the dragon seized the moment to stomp down on the other arm that seemed to raise the defense. He ends the scuffle with one loud inhale and an even louder roar of flames at point blank range, charring the metal body of his opponent and frying everything electrical inside.
Scar looks down at his fallen foe a few moments before turning around and marching out with a huff of hot air. He hoped Wailu could handle herself as well.

A few problems. Why does the app not have its BB code? Look at mine and Khas's for examples. And the race is Draquni, not Dragon.

I'm also confused by how the power works. Why does he have powers in both states? Thqt makes the shifting unnecessary.

Likes: Food, but only good food; intelligence; efficiency; and language

Dislikes: Waiting. To the point that they'll grow new body parts while waiting for the originals to heal. Sometimes the extras go away, sometimes not; foolishness. Just like waiting, most anything that wastes time annoys Auduliya to no end; change, as it usually prevents boredom; and sweat, for personal reasons.

Aight, looks good, but why's she no longer human?

More permanent changes require an actual genetic change to stick around and remain functional, such as an extra pair of eyes. Basically, it requires small edits to the genetic code and wiring of the brain to make more permanent changes functional long-term.

The Republic of Atria wrote:A few problems. Why does the app not have its BB code? Look at mine and Khas's for examples. And the race is Draquni, not Dragon.

I'm also confused by how the power works. Why does he have powers in both states? Thqt makes the shifting unnecessary.

Sorry, will take another look and try to correct. Same with race. As for the powers, it's that the ones in human form are very diluted. For example, the flames. In dragon form, he could reduce an object to ash. In human, only char it as if it had been placed in a hot campfire. But if that does mess things up, can give his powers only dragon form, either way is good with me.

Yep. And impatience, time travel, and shapeshifting mix surprisingly well.

Name:Scar Barrett

Age:20

Race:Draquni

Gender:Male

Appearance: (Pics, or a detailed description is acceptable) Scaly skin the color of sun scorched rock. Short, thick tar-black hair. Sharp golden eyes with vertical slit pupils. Thickly built skull with oversized jaw. Lean, densely muscled form. Oddly angled ears. Short, slightly hooked nails on hands and feet. Large jagged teeth and sharp tongue. Two diagonal scars across left eye.

Powers:Shapeshift between a fully dragon form and human that still shows hints of dragonic traits. Features such as teeth, claws, etc. offer natural weapons

The draquni uses his go-to attack, taking a deep inhale before bright orange flames erupted from his mouth and covered his opponent like a wave.
The draquni charges with purpose, thrusting his hand out to tear through his mechanical adversary, only to be stopped by a barrier again.
But the repeated trauma proved too much, the barrier eventually shattering when it was pushed against the bot and he seized the moment to stomp down on the other arm that seemed to raise the defense.

Would it be ok, if i put off my initial character for now, and tossed up another app?

I am just struggling to write the Entrance exam bit for them in a way that does not make the character seem OP, which he could be, but still.
