Well under races it only had one dragon thing, so i was confused a bit by the premise.

That was for races that weren't humans. I imagine Khas's race will be added later on as well.

Heavy Heavy Wip app

Postby Shadowwell » Fri Jul 28, 2017 7:31 pm

Name: Tristan ‘Tank’ Carver

Age: 19

Race: Human

Gender: Male

Appearance: He is tall, around 6'6 and is rather broadly built for a human.

Powers: Relative immutability and unstable Regeneration. He has two powers, the first is Immutability, when active, he is either stuck in motion or stuck in place. During either of these modes, his other ability is negated. When in motion he cannot be stopped, well not easily, when he takes enough damage he stops, but the damage does not seem to affect him, until after the mode is ended. For the other mode, it functions similarly but he is immovable as long as he is in the same place, he can be moved, but only under certain conditions.

His regeneration is slow, but rather thorough, meaning it is very difficult for him to truly die. Though he can technically die, his regen continues, even after his body has been killed and will be brought back to working order, after a time. This regen can be rather costly, he could lose memories or perhaps even other more important thigns due to the powers incessant drive to keep him alive.

Entrance Exam: The door to the exam room opened and a teenager entered, though he wasn't often mistaken for being his actual age. He was taller than most adults let alone teenagers his age, standing at an impressive 6'6". Another thing that set him apart was his build, he as to put it simply, big-boned. His shoulders were broad and his limbs were thick and densely muscled, though he wasn't musclebound in appearance. He was Tristan Carver, though most that know him tend to call him Tank, it was an old moniker and it has stuck. As Tank entered the exam room, he looked around and took it in, it was rather barren and lackluster. The walls of the room were colored a metallic and weren't decorated or furnished. The only thing indicating it was an exam room, of sorts, was the ring located in the center of the room. Within the ring was a solitary robot, located in a corner opposite him. It was currently inactive, but as he crawled into the ring it sparked to life.

Optional!

Likes: Sports (mainly physical ones), eating, reading, fighting.

Dislikes: Bullies, the arrogant.

Hey, so what exactly is the entrance exam portion of the app for? And is the a limit to characters we can play besides "whatever we can realistically handle"?

You're supposed to write a fight scene between your character and a combat robot that has random powers.

Details are up to you.

And no. If you think you can handle 5 characters, go for it. 3 is usually my max.

I have been summoned from the Netherealms by a prospective sorcerer.

I am also incredibly annoyed for having my sleep disturbed by said sorcerer.

But also incredibly interested by thread.

Final Verdict: Sorcerer lives for now and thread gets tag.

So, there isn't a place for the bio. Was that intentional?

Anyway, here's the current version of my biological science character.
WIP

Name: Marcus Stone

Age: 20

Race: Human

Gender Male

Appearance:
Image

No, the jacket doesn't have "FAKE" on it. In reality, it's black, same as the other side.

Image

Powers:
  • Super Intelligence: Marcus has a genius-level intellect, focusing on biological alterations, either through the integration of cybernetics or genetic engineering.
  • Cybernetic Creation: Marcus is capable of creating biological augmentations decades ahead of their time, such as eyes capable of seeing through solid metal or body armor woven into the skin.
  • Gene Therapy: Marcus has created an elixir which temporarily increases the natural healing factor of the target. This can be administered orally, though on the battlefield he prefers to send it through special darts from his gun. He also has a concentrated form of this potion capable of super-charging one's healing factor to revive or stabilizing dying targets, but this comes at the cost of lowering their immune system for some time after.
  • Empowerment: Similar to the elixir, Marcus has created a concoction capable of boosting the physical capabilities of it's target. The target gains an enhanced condition, reaching their maximum potential in things such as strength, speed, and durability for several minutes. If he has had time to study the target, he can prepare a dose that is specially tailored to that individual, increasing their metahuman powers as well as their physical powers for around a half hour.
  • Super Serum: If Marcus studies a metahuman, he can create a serum that temporarily alters a subject's DNA to grant them metahuman powers. These powers can be used in a weakened state for an hour, or at it's peak potential for a few minutes.

However, these serums are highly experimental and have a number of possible side effects. It can alter things such as your appearance and personality to match the original user of the powers, or even temporarily override your original powers. The side effects are increasingly likely to exist if you use a serum with the same genetic base too many times, or using multiple serums at once.
  • Countermeasures: If Marcus studies a metahuman, he can create a drug that will suppress their powers for several hours. This suppressor only works on that particular target, as it targets the source of that meta's powers directly. At the moment, he has some general purpose counters, such as cryo, incendiary, corrosive, EMP, shock, sleep, gas and containment foam rounds. He has also a few nullification collars from Tartarus, which shut off powers when fastened to the target's neck.
  • Panacea: One of his prizes from his time working with Tartarus, Panacea is an advance AI assistant capable of running most of Marcus's lab while he is away. She is also able use certain function of his suit, allowing for Marcus to multi-task with precision. She is capable of interfacing with most electronic systems, is unable to be hacked, and can protect the lab and HES from electronic intrusions.

She was created for defense, not attack, and as such has limited hacking capabilities. Although she can't be hacked, cyber-attacks leave her feeling "sick," and thus depending on the attack leave her distracted, or in extreme cases unable to perform many basic function.
  • Hazardous Environment Suit: The HES is a suit developed by engineers at Tartarus and improved upon by himself and Panacea. It is contains environmental seals, which can allow it to become airtight. Once airtight, the suit can regulate it's temperature, withstand extreme cold, heat and pressure, and is equipped with a rebreather. The suit increases the physical attributes of the wearer, giving Marcus superhuman strength, agility, speed, reflexes, and the like. It can administer doses of his potions on command, as well as automatically cycle between the different ammunition loaded and fired into the gun. It runs on a super-efficient solar battery, with a backup rechargeable battery used for emergencies. It also has cameras and lights located around the armor so Panacea can see what's going on. It has jump jets in the boots, allowing him to leap into the air, and has two grappling hooks in the arms. The grappling hooks are capable of sending and transferring electrical charge.

The HES also features multiple defensive features. It is made of armored plates with shock absorbers underneath, capable of withstanding sniper rounds without being compromised. It can run an electric current on it's outside, shocking anyone touching it. It also has a shoulder mounted laser capable of detonating incoming explosives before they reach him. Finally, he is capable of throwing orbs of his countermeasures for an larger area-of-effect, at the cost of being easier to dodge/see coming.

The helmet has a communications, navigation, targeting and tracking system which can be disabled and enabled at will. The HES is compatible with Panacea, who can run the ammo selection and trophy system for him. It also is capable of some basic scans and data collection, though in-depth analysis must be done in the lab.
  • Drone: Equipped to the back of the HES is a drone capable of administering the various serums Marcus has concocted. It can be controlled by him or Panacea, has scanning and recording abilities, and has some evasive capabilities. He often uses this for the front lines while he stays out of the line of fire.
  • Medic!: Marcus is a skilled healer, capable of treating various wounds and illnesses.

Entrance Exam: To be written

Optional!

Likes: To be written

Dislikes: To be written

Tropes: Not sure I'll do this

Name: Alfred Faltz

Age: 19

Race: Human

Gender: Male

Appearance: Alfred, or Alfie as he goes by, is a young man of below-average stature who is not particularly muscled nor particularly pretty. While he is clearly fit, he is by no means one of the "human weapons" that are consistently inducted by the Horizon Academy. His hair is a light brown, bordering on a coppery color in a rather disobedient mop of curls that persistently falls over his peculiar golden eyes. His skin is almost luminescent, as if he'd never been exposed to sunlight prior to arriving at the Academy. Typically dressed in simple garb, consisting of a jacket, boots, and a set of brown pants, his facade is remarkably deceptive. His nose is almost perpetually bandaged and set, as it is often the first thing that gets punched and hurt in his numerous fights. On his back is a massive tattoo of unknown origin depicting what almost appears to be a tree made of wings.

Powers: Alfie is not a particularly special character--he is not strong, nor fast. Nor is he magically talented or blessed with an incredible mind or weapons of incalculable power. He has been given a single blessing: the strength to endure. Alfie's body is something of a miracle--it can take an inordinate amount of punishment that would kill lesser folk. As the beating persists, his golden eyes begin to glow brighter and brighter until the energy that has been "input" into his body is "output" an identical amount of joules. This energy seems to decay at a rather rapid rate, and at a "full charge" it takes approximately a minute and a half for his body to wind down and return to a stand-by state. It is worth noting that this does not negate the damage that the "input" deals to him, though it's affects are negated by his rather legendary constitution and durability.

Entrance Exam: Before him stood a rather standard looking combat drone. It's build and make suggested use in some kind of martial arts dojo, as it held a traditional wooden staff, and oddly it had a black belt tied around its waist. Alfie began his warm-up stretches as the robot followed it's ceremonial programming and did a pre-match bow. As Alfred's last knuckle of his last finger popped, a voice blared over an unseen intercom. "Exam begins."

Immediately the bot adopted a traditional kung-fu style pose as Alfred quickly raised his own fists into a kickboxing stance. For a brief moment, the entirety of the examination room was still. The serenity was shortly broken as the robot began a series of strikes that didn't quite match any sort of standard kung-fu. The stance had been a ploy, thought Alfie as the first blow of the flurry struck his guard. The robot was strong, as expected of an examiner of Horizon. The boy's eyes steadily grew in brightness as each strike with the wooden pole slammed into his guard. The synthetic shifted it's attacks lower, swatting at his abdomen rather than his face. Each blow left a rather nasty bruise beneath his shirt--he'd discarded his red jacket shortly prior to the fight beginning. Normally cheerful eyes had hardened into a glowing golden steel. Alfred dropped to one knee, ducking just beneath the robot's newest hail of blows. At this point, the bot's movements had become too fast for the eye to see, becoming a blur of titanium allow and oaken wood. Now, Alfie, who'd weathered the assault, went on the offensive. His eyes glowed like miniature suns, but they already began to dim.

In one fluid movement, his leg shot out from beneath him in a swipe. The wiry limb crashed into a metal shin, and the robot began to topple. If surprise could manifest in an automaton's circuitry, there could be no other emotion. As confusion and calculations ran at lightspeed through the robots positronic brain, a fist smashed down into its steely face, shattering its visual receptors and cracking the faceplate of alloy, rated to withstand any normal fighter. As the bot slammed into the ground, Alfred wasted no time, his eyes visibly dimmed after his previous assault. He wrapped the robot into a facelock with little difficulty, and with a wave of inhuman strength lifted it into the air above him. The robot finished processing this information. It was upside down in a front face-lock. It knew what happened next. A suplex.

With a mighty crash, both boy and bot slammed into the metallic flooring. Alfred stood quickly, faster than the struggling, blinded automaton. He rose and with a mighty kick to the robot's temple, took the upper half of the cranial plate off. The fight was over, as the examiner sparked, limp on the floor with only half of a cranium. With his charge depleted, Alfie gave himself a moment to breath before actually examining his wounds. As he had expected, his sides were rather battered, as was his back. A steady stream of red blood flowed down from his forehead where the bot had swatted him with the staff during one of the flurries he'd endured. His knuckles also bled, and his own shin was rather bruised from where he tripped the bot up. None of it mattered though, as the intercom blared again.

"Exam over, pass. Welcome to Horizon Academy, Alfred..?"

He looked up at the one of the few cameras dotted around the room, and smiled as he collected his jacket.

"Just Alfred."

Optional!

Likes: Alfred likes sweets, meats, the sky and smooth jazz.

Dislikes: Alfie doesn't really like enclosed spaces. Or snakes. Or any kind of reptile, really--something about the way of slither around, he thinks.

Tropes: Catch and Return, Attack Reflector
