Valgora has decided to jump onto the Q&A bandwagon, so the Ministry of International Relations has created this website for anyone to ask questions.

Dear Valenzuela,

In terms of government, there are slightly less women than men. And the new government hasn't had a female head of state and government, of course the current government is only three years old. However, women have the same role as men in the government and many are ministers, for example: the Minister of International Relations is a female.

In terms of culture, women have had slightly less of role than men; however, now women are about on par with men in terms of culture.

Honestly though, there would be things/groups/etc. that are similar to those but they would be called something else and I haven't thought that far enough.

I am assuming you are talking about the ones that do the most trading.

Using that criteria, Ægir Fishing is the largest one. The export meat and other marine products. Another large one is Surtr Weapons, which manufactures and exports ammunition, firearms, and other weapons. Ivan Mining and Refining exports mined materials. Sleipnir is a vehicle manufacturing company. They don't export much; however, they are planing on expanding what they export.

While we do not have a negative opinion of Trotskyism, we don't like it all that much. We're fine with other countries that follow it as long as they are not assholes to Valgora and if they have good personal freedoms and civil rights.

We don't agree with the whole permeant revolution and socialism can be only achieved with world revolution. We also don't like Marxism-Leninism and it's offshoots all that much due to the fact that Valgorans hate authoritarianism.

Now, I like your national anthem. It's quiet similar to what we have.

A very good question.

National identity is the sense of a nation as a cohesive whole, as represented by distinctive traditions, culture, language, and/or politics.

Valgoran national identity is mostly based off of our distinct tradition, culture, and language. Politics does not play a large part in our national identity; however, it does affect it in some way, but it's not a defining feature.

I'll start with language. The Valgoran language is a very difficult language for non-native speakers to learn. It has been described as a mixing of Icelandic, Finnish, and Norwegian. We also constantly update the language to eliminate loan words. This language is pretty unique to Valgora due to the way it works; as well as the fact that it has existed for centuries.

Looking at our traditions, those form a major basis of the Valgoran national identity. There are many wierd things about our traditions that will be easier explained by explaining the culture.

The culture of Valgora is extremely distinctive in many ways. Born from the harsh climate and living conditions of Valgora, it is a pretty violent culture that also expresses the need of individuality and cooperation. When it comes to the religious aspect, we worship the Moon goddess as more important than the Sun goddess; something we find to be unique as most polytheistic religions either worshiped the Sun god (or goddess) above the one for the Moon, or sometimes as equals. Another thing about our religious culture and traditions, is that taking drugs is a massive part of it; however, this is not a feature unique to our religion.

Now lastly, politics. Most people would look at Valgora and say that socialism or communism is a large part of the national identity. That is simply not true, because politics have never been a defining feature of Valgoran national identity. In politics, there is really only one ideal that has shaped our identity: a hatred for authoritarianism. Valgorans have always despised authority, even when they "like it". One example is when a chieftain would attempt to make himself or herself (or make someone else) the King or Princess (Queen). Their "reign" would last for, typically, 3 to 5 years before being brutally killed by other Valgorans. The longest "reign" lasted almost 20 years.

While we don't know much about Gaozu, its government, or its people; we don't have any negative opinions as far as I am aware.

In any past interactions, you've never been an asshole towards Valgora and have acted quite friendly towards us. Your people seem to have many personal freedoms and civil rights, which is a major factor in how we think of other countries.

Valgora does not have a stance on the conflict between North and South Vietnam. If we have to support a side, we would support the side with the greatest civil rights and personal freedoms. That being said, that statement alone does not mean we'll support South Vietnam. If a government is so oppressive against followers of a religion, that Buddhists will self-immolate themselves (without making a sound or moving a muscle, which is metal as fuck), we will be highly skeptical of said government.
