Name: Rhünir Hazakhar
Age: Well over seven centuries.
Gender: Male
Species: Kysaduran(Vizier)
Nationality/Allegiance: The Kysaduran Protectorate
Physical appearance:
Identifying Marks: Runic tracks of light emblazoned on his armor, and a mask he wears at all times.
Skills: Wields powerful eldritch powers as a Kysaduran Vizier. He is a deadly psyker that is not be trifled with. In addition, Rhünir has several robotic drones that accompany him at all times.
Personality: Despite the general stereotype that insectoids would be evil of sorts, the Kysadurans are quite the opposite, at least partially. Likewise, Rhünir is pragmatic and quite an observer. He is sometimes manipulative and will make use of others as a sword and a shield. However, that does not remove the fact that Rhünir is loyal towards those he calls "friend", and these are few in count. He is unyielding to any foe and is an intelligent fighter.
Weaknesses: In all his eldritch power, he is quite young for a Kysaduran Vizier and may act rashly at times, giving enemies an opening on which to strike. In addition, he cannot reach enemies that are afar.
His most obvious weakness is that while he can unleash devastating eldritch powers at his foes, all it takes is a well placed slash, or a good shot with a rifle to remove him from battle. The question is, however, is not getting burned with psychic fire before one is able to do that slash, or being shot by one of Rhünir's servitors before that good shot is done.
He also has a phobia of bats. Really.
Likes/dislikes: Likes - Crackles of lightning and thunder, explosions, "the fields of friendship", human anime
Dislikes - Anything reptilian, propaganda
Interests:(Optional)
Fears: That this mission will be a failure...
Bio: Born inside a colony ship named Modrus, the would be Vizier had quite a fortune at his hands. The Grand Viziers of Modrus soon detected that this one hatchling is quite gifted in eldritch power, and soon enough, Rhünir was being trained in the ways of psychic destruction.
Years later, the Modrus was raided by an alien fleet. The ill-prepared occupants were slaughtered in droves, except for one. Rhünir.
Rhünir, who has five centuries of age at that time, woke up from stasis to find that he is the last survivor of the ship. As the enemies surrounded him, he unleashed his eldritch psychic power and activating the defense drones of the ship, singlehandedly destroying every single one of the intruders. He then boarded one of the ships in the hangar, a Star Seeker class ship. With it, he went home to Zauros.
Naming the ship Night Haunter, it was in Zauros where it was modified. Stealth systems and an antimatter core replaced the fusion core, making it even more dangerous in battle. Gathering other like minded individuals, Rhünir and his crew, assisted by a force of Pulsar Destroyers and Nightfury Battlecruisers, roamed the Great Void, destroying pirate ships at the droves. Then, news came that the Reihm has fallen. Wishing to see the universe in full, the Vizier and his crew made for a world called Mars... to a certain place called..
. Thrawn B7.Hmmm... what could the presence of a certain powerful psyker mean...?
Reason for Being on Thrawn B7: Primarily because the Protectorate has opened its borders and thus, he and his crew wish to see the rest of the universe...

Species Name: Kysadurans(by other races), the Geochroni(by themselves)
Scientific Name: Sub Venandi(Underground Hunter)
Homeworld: Marthios(formerly)
Natural lifespan: Varies amongst the race. Queens and Spiderlords are biologically immortal, and Viziers(powerful psykers) have severely extended life spans of more than a few thousand years. Ordinary workers live for 80 years, winged flyers for 50, and warriors for 200. The most average citizens lives for a century.
Physical description: They... are insectoid? At first glance, they may seem to be somewhat like oversized ants, but in closer inspection, they have eight limbs, characteristic of arachnids, and torsos that vaguely resemble that of humans. Their eyes can see beyond the ultraviolet spectrum, and they have eight of these, though only a masked face can usually be seen by onlookers. They usually hide their soft bodies beneath chitinous carapaces and steel armor.
They are innately psionic race, and all are initially capable of telepathy, but a select few are exceptionally gifted. These gifted ones become the Viziers.
Are they good or evil? It is difficult to say. By nature, the Kysadurans are more or less willing to cooperate with the Empire, and loath the Federation by all means. However, they show no repugnance in doing the Horde some favors. At the same time, they are neutral in galactic affairs, taking neither side. Judging from this, they can be said to be observers that are tired of seeing planets burn and explode. The ignorance and blatant propaganda of humanity disgusts them, and the bias of the reptilian Federation towards non-reptilian species pleases them by no means. The Horde's conquest for galactic domination causes the pragmatic Kysadurans to loath them a little bit. However, in their current state, they are in no place to challenge the great powers, let alone face them in battle. And so, compromises are to be made.
Culture and History: The Kysadurans are an ancient race, dating back to the days when dinosaurs still walked the Earth. Rising from the world of Marthios near the galactic core, they evolved from smaller, weaker creatures known as the Kysa. The Kysa were insectoid creatures that were little more than animals at first, feeding, mating, and dying. However, times changed when an alien artifact mysteriously activated in the planet, mutating all of its inhabitants. In the case of the Kysa, they turned to the Kysadurans. Sentient insectoids. But they were not alone. In other areas of the planet, two more sentient species arose, the crustacean Urjarn of the deep sea, and the humanoid Targanath of the high mountains. The three races battled for domination in the world of Marthios. In land, the Kysadurans reigned supreme over the plains, but the Targanath ruled the mountains. Elsewhere, the Urjarn struck now and then from the sea, only to retreat soon after. This warfare continued for many centuries, and when Marthios reached the Modern Age, the endless conflict escalated.
Armed with nuclear weapons, the Kysadurans destroyed the Targanath mountain strongholds, and the Urjarns cowered in fear that they would be next. And so it was. The seas turned red as hundreds of millions were slaughtered by the Kysaduran war machine. But alas, they have turned fate against them. By choking the seas in blood, the ecosystem went into chaos, and all life in the seas died, save for microbes. The remaining Urjarn and Targanath mocked the Kysadurans for their foolishness, and it was true. Soon enough, the world itself was dying due to the radiation brought by the nuclear weapons of the Kysadurans. In a desperate measure, the Kysaduran nations formed a plan to evacuate the planet itself. Pooling their resources together, they built multi generation colony ships in order to save what remains of their population. And so, around 100,000 years ago, the Kysadurans left their planet for good.
After many centuries in space, the colony ships landed on a bountiful world by the name of Zauros. The gravity was high, but it was alright. Here, they built a new civilization. In the course of many years, the Kysaduran nation grew beyond their initial colony first. First they colonized the other planets of the Zauros system, before moving on to others once FTL was developed. They built a budding empire around the galactic core, forging the stars in their liking. Until... THEY came.
Their old foes from Marthios. The Urjarn and the Targanath. While they were foes in the past, they had a common enemy now. Unknown to the Kysadurans when they left Marthios, the remaining Urjarn and Targanath were taken and uplifted by... someone. It is unknown who exactly, but the Urjarn and Targanath descended upon the empire with great fury. Armed with otherwordly weaponry and starships that can cross the galaxy at the blink of an eye, they wreaked horrific devastation before they were finally stopped at huge cost at the great battle of the Steel Nebula. The war resulted in the deaths of 50% of the population, most of the queens, and the loss of 80% of their colonies. The nation buckled on itself and simply collapsed. For the next 12 centuries, anarchy and chaos reigned over the ruins of the empire. Until... he came.
Anathar Theron, lord of Zauros, began a great campaign to subdue the anarchic colonies and bring them under a new empire. For nearly a hundred years, this crusade lasted until Anathar himself was killed in battle. A new unified Kysaduran nation, however, stood strong. While it can never hope to match the old empire in any of its glory, it is still a force to contend with. For nearly 10,000 years, this nation, known as the Kysaduran Protectorate, isolated itself, until during the after math of Rehmian Collapse, they finally opened their gates. What awaits them in this dark galaxy?

Hmm. I want to do a mix of space and on-planet adventures, so it's 50-50 for a character like that. Maybe they have some sort of detachable amphibious vehicle or w/e to use on land.

There are science fiction franchises besides 40k. You could pull stuff from Star Trek, Star Wars, BSG, Stargate, hell there are dozens of science fiction cartoons from the 80s and 90s you could steal from.
Also Redkorn is accepted, I may use it soon.
