| IHNL is back |

The IHNL, Kebec's top ice hockey league is once-again preparing to hit the ice for its second season, this time, there are many stars who will be on display throughout the season, the defending champions in the Albert-Cross Angels will open the season against last year's cellar-dwellers in the St. Elizabeth Holy Warriors.

This offseason has been rather quiet for the IHNL, unfortunately, the IHNL lost out on two major Kebecois stars as CASK Thosbork of the Savojarn top league, SHS was quick to grab Kebecois star, Fabien De Saint-Pierre from the national team after the twelfth edition of the World Junior Hockey Championships. The other lesser-known loss is Zachary Leloup who was drafted in the OJL by the Ontorisan team the Arugo Olympians 202nd overall in the seventh round of the OJL draft. However, the IHNL teams did make some splashes of their own, the Calix City Makos, the most well-known team in the league handed national team center Mathieu Gribelin N$12-million for a three-season contract alongside a franchise-tag which added an extra N$3-million and guaranteed N$7.5-million to him. The defending champions in the Albert-Cross Angels resigned their captain, Abélard Duclos to a two-season contract of an unknown price, at thirty-two years of age, his skills will certainly begin a rapid decline, however, this did not seem to bother the Angels who maintained their wish to sign him.

The second test for the IHNL is now the two star newcomers in the league, as stipulated in league rules, there is not a sanctioned draft for the league but rather an open-session each team can set up with its desired players. Ethan Green, the projected third-line left-wing for the Ederfield Grizzlies was given a hefty two-season N$3.5-million contract, a high one for a rookie, however, in his time as Cortana City University, he lead the nation in goal-scoring and was third in assists, there is much hope for the Grizzlies who was one of the lowest goal-producing teams last year. The IHNL is trying to bring stars from the multiverse to come play in Kebec's top league, as seen with rumors growing that the IHNL plans to enter talks with Mercedinian top-league, MSL -- Mercedini Super League. Included, the struggling St. Elizabeth Holy Warriors have said they have interest in meeting with Zoloroni Sports City Youth Academy's left-wing, Oliver Penson.

So, are you excited for a new season of hockey for Kebec? Will we see the Albertain-Cross Angels defend their titles -- some are betting on the Angels walloping the entire league, who knows? What about Calix City? The Makos are surely built to win, but, their ownership only cares for the money, money will win players, but it won't win championships. We at the Ice Cube Weekly have collectively hedged our bets with Cortana SC, they could very well surprise us all, they have a fair amount of talent and they have a sturdy leadership.

ROUGH START FOR BIG BAY

BIG BAY Big Bay is a team that has prided itself in having a stanch and well-kept defense as shown last season when it gave up the second-least amount of goals throughout the season, however, many are now questioning the very defense of the team as Big Bay sits in last place with only two wins on the season, a terrible way to start such a promising season. Big Bay has struggled beyond measure this year, no doubt, but three straight losses capped with a 3-0 nothing loss to Sario Wizards who only have one more win than the Hawks is a major cause for concern. Entering this year, the Big Bay Hawks were picked to finish third in the league and lock in a playoff spot, however, if they continue their current downward trend, it is expected they'd finish with a record of 8-23-32, that's a major cause for concern among citizens in Big Bay. The major nail in the coffin of all this is the fact Big Bay went to last year's Odin Cup finals in which they lost the best-of-3 series to the Albert-Cross Angels, their current playing is almost guaranteeing they won't return to the Odin Cup finals, much less the playoffs this season.

Big Bay was never a scoring power, last season, in sixty-four games, they only chugged out ninety-four goals scored throughout the entire season, however, Louis Thibodeau contributed twenty-seven goals to that tally and was third overall in goals scored. Thibodeau has failed to contribute much to the the team so far, only have scored three goals and adding two assists to the tally, included, he was out games seven thru thirteen with a jaw injury which has limited his mobility. A defensive meltdown isn't helping as the team is unable to hold the net in the final minutes leading to eight losses, exactly half of their games played are decisive losses.

Coach Quentin Vaugrenard, in his second year as head coach has voiced his frustrations, particularly at André Anouilh, the second-line goal-keeper who is also filling Abelin Carré's shift until Carré returns form a thirty-game injury which he sustained in game four. As seen, the team is struggling without the steady hand of Carré to protect the net, said coach Vaugrenard, "Anouilh is getting paid a sizeable amount of money for a job he is failing to do, he is an embarrassment to this team and represents what is going wrong with this team. He is most certainly a constant distraction to the team and something must be done."

Bay Side Square alongside has seen record low attendance over the past three games, the lowest being the latest game which only had 470 people in the stands, making the 7.500-seater feel like a coliseum. Whether Vaugrenard can fix what's broken is yet to be known, if not, he will most certainly be out the door. There are rumors circulating that the general-manager of the Big Bay Hawks was seen meeting with Calle Johanson, ex-coach of CASK Thorsborg, a team in the Savojarn top league, the Savojar Hockej Serien.

THE SCENT OF CHANGE

BIG BAY The arrival of Savojarn hockey star Grigori Kirov prompted celebration to erupt from the city of Big Bay following drastic measures by the Big Bay Hawks to improve the culture of the team and change its downward spiral future, Kirov saw action in game thirty-two against the St Elizabeth Holy Warriors in which he produced a shutout for the Bay Hawks and gave them hope entering the All-Star break. His arrival has shattered the atmosphere in Big Bay, the first foreigner to play in the IHNL will ironically draw crowds to a team desperate to improve attendance for a struggling franchise, he is also hoped to boost morale in the city.

Big Bay has also picked up Ray Marriott, a fifty-one year old former coach of the Bear Bears of the Elejamian EINHL a role he's held for about six years. Under his command, the Bears never missed a playoff spot, although they always fell in the first round however, their strength was seen in their six straight playoffs appearances, a feat unknown to many. He's also good with tactics but he also uses teambuilding exercises to make sure his players get along great with each other and to keep their morale up. The downside is, of course, he has no awards to his name but he's hoping that will change soon. As such, Quentin Vaugrenard, former coach of the Hawks will be looking for a new job this offseason and was ushered out of the arena following the thirty-second game.

Said Marriott in his opening press-interview with the Kebecois people thru a translator, "As the first foreign coach of a Kebecois team, I look forward to proving myself to you and our team, the Big Bay Hawks have much to prove to this nation and have much to give back to Big Bay, a season ago, they were on the cusp of an Odin Cup, now, we intend to build for the future and one day deliver that promise to the people."

When talking about new acquisition, Kirov, Marriott told the press, "[ Grigori ] Kirov is a very-much hyped player for the INHL, a talent and a natural-born leader, he possesses the skill and grace that the team will need if it intends to survive thru the rest of the challenging season. I've seen him play in the Savojarn league, Dynamo Sjoedrhavn was wrong to drop a talent like him from their books."

Of course, this will greet the fans with great euphoria, an improvement of the current goal-keeping situation with the young and untrained twenty-three year-old in Abelin Carré will finally have an answer, André Anouilh has shown he is aging and has lost much of his agility and finally, Quentin Bonnel, their starter last year has lost a step and must relearn the game. Kirov will serve as a good mentor for at least a season or two, no doubt.

Marriott Quits Barr Bears, Moves to Big Bay Hawks

"Shocking scenes last night as Ray Marriott, head coach for the Barr Bears, recently announced in a press conference that he'll be leaving his team and joining the Big Bay Hawks over in the INHL. The 51 year old, who had been head coach with the Bears for the past six seasons, announced that the game against the Iceland Vipers on Saturday will his last game before he leaves for Kebec on Monday. He would go on to announce that assistant coach Veni Mitenaerin will replace him as head coach for the rest of the season."

That's what the ENIHL website said when I woke up this morning. So yes, it's true. Ray Marriott will be leaving us for another club in another country. To be fair, the Bears had been a bit hit-and-miss this season, even more so than usual, so this didn't really come as much of a surprise. But it's still sad to see him go and I wish him the best with his new job. On the upside, he'll be the second Elejamian coach in the country so Samuel Philidor, head coach of Kebec's junior squad and former head coach of the Elejamie City Ice Elephants, won't be alone.

But first, who is Ray Marriott? Anyone who regularly keeps up with Bears games knows who he is but what about those who don't? Especially any Kebecois readers who are curious to know about who this new guy is. Well, let's do a quick bit of history. Nothing spectacularly long but enough to keep you informed. Ray Marriott first played (albeit as a right winger) for the Donham College Blaze in his last two years of high school before being accepted into the University of Avon in 1984. He played for the Ice Cats for four years, not only switching to the left-wing but also making it to the Forrest Cup playoffs in every season. Which sounds impressive but truth be told he failed to win a trophy with them; the closest they came to success was making to the 1986 Forrest Cup Finals where they lost 4-2 to the Universidad de la Playa de Rocas team.

After graduating, he joined the Avon Stars ice hockey team, playing only one game with them (a 4-1 away win over the Coventry Penguins in 1990) for two seasons before being sent over to the newly-formed Barr Bears in 1991. It was with the Bears that he spent most of his career. As in, he signed for them when he was 24 and only stopped playing for them twelve years later when he got traded away to another team, the Blackport Raiders in the ENIHL2. However, with the Bears, he racked up around 150 goals and 229 assists and, as a result, remains their all-time top scorer. Plus once he retired they retired his #27 jersey, so you know he was a popular figure with the team.

Where was I? Oh, yes. He stayed with the Blackport Raiders for just three seasons, although he'd only play roughly two and a half of them, as he was injured in a game against the Auckhampton Fathers in the last game before the 2004 Christmas Break. Although he would be better by February that year, he wasn't picked for any games after that and decided to retire at the end of the season. However, the season after he retired, he started coaching the Raiders for three years, which was a complete shock to him at first. But soon he managed to slip into the role and managed to produce three successful seasons, although sadly they never lead to the Raiders making it to the ENIHL.

After that, he made a welcome return to his adopted team, the Barr Bears. And a damn fine job he's done there. At first, it was a bit of a slow start, with a 6-1 loss to the Davenport Dockers in his first game in charge, followed by a 7-2 defeat in their next game againt the Rosetta Royals. But, again, he managed to sort everything out and, eventually, the team finished eighth in the league, bagging them their first play-off appearance since 2007. In fact, each season that saw him at the helm resulted in the Bears making it to the play-offs; a feat that would be more impressive if they were able to get past the first round. Yes, in all of their play-off appearances (including the two pre-Marriott seasons they made it that far), the Bears had never won a series (the closest being a 3-2 reverse sweep in their series against the Edgebaston Shamrocks back in 2014/15). However, with this new change of location and change of pace, would he finally be able to have an award to his name? Maybe next season, unless the INHL give out wooden spoons to the last-placed team in the league.

Now I know what some of you are asking. "What about the Big Bay Hawks themselves? After all, they're the team picking him up so they should get some coverage, right?" Well, they acutally didn't do too badly in their first season, coming fifth in the league with a 25-18-21 record which was enough to bring them into the final eight. And they did a pretty good job there, finishing 3-1-4 which turned out to be just enough for a spot in the semi-finals. Another stroke of luck in the semis saw them make it through to the finals with a record of 2-1-2 and they were hoping that their luck would continue as they face the Albert-Cross Angels in the Odin Cup finals. Unfortunately, that's where their luck ended, as the Angels won the series 2-1 to take home the inaugural Odin Cup.

So what's the problem there? The Hawks are clearly one of the best teams in the league with a good coach and excellent players, right? Well, as the Good Book says "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall". I'm not sure if that was really the case here but, either way, they've been doing really badly so far. They've only won seven (out of 32) games so far, with ten draws and fifteen losses making up the other 25 games they've played. Their first win came eleven games in, with a 1-0 away win over the Larvana Reds, which was then immediately followed by 3-1 home win against the New Asgard Mighty Hammers. Fortunately, things started to pick up for them, as they've managed to win five of their last sixteen, but it's still not enough to lift them out of the bottom spot. How the mighty have fallen. Fortunately, a new coach and some new talent in Savojar skater Grigori Kirov might be enough for them to rise out of the ashes. Sadly, Marriott's predecessor, Quentin Vaugrenard, was fired despite that 2-0 win over St. Elizabeth in the 32nd game of the season but I'm sure someone somewhere will take him.

Back in the ENIHL, the Bears are currently ninth in the table, just a few points behind the Mainsborough IceMen and not that many games to catch up and keep the streak going. As the ENIHL site said, Veni Mitenaerin, who was one of Marriott's assistant coaches for the previous four seasons, will be the interim head coach for the rest of the season, maybe the play-offs as well should the Bears defy the odds and keep the streak. I don't think Veni will be made the new head coach, however. Either way, I wish the Bears the best of luck with the change, Ray Marriott the bet of luck with his new team and the Big Bay Hawks with the new coach. Now that's all said and done I'm off to write up a draft for my play-off predictions. Keep an eye out for that.

Ray Marriott: From Barr Bear to Big Bay Hawk by Rubén Travieso.
How he turned the Bears into a contender, how he managed them to play-off success and how he turned around a struggling team in Kebec

Say the name "Ray Marriott" to any Barr Bears fan and you'll get one of their greatest players who'd later turn into one of their greatest coaches. Despite being unable to secure a trophy with the team and being part of the team that got thrashed 11-0 by the Dockers back in the first game of the 1997-98 season, he still managed to turn them into a contender. First, they were one of the teams in the first ENIHL playoffs back in the 1999-2000 season; finishing in 8th place before being swept 3-0 by the Coventry Puffins. Secondly, with him at the helm, they never failed to make a play-off finish, despite being unable to make it past the first round. And, to date, he is the only Bears player to have his number retired, when the team stopped giving players #27 and officially retired it just before the first game of the 2005-06 season. And that's ignoring a group of people who are crowdfunding an attempt to have a statue of him in the city.

Say it to any Big Bay Hawks fan and you might just get the saviour of their team. At first, the Hawks had an amazing first season in the IHNL, where they finished in fifth place in the regular season and would keep coming in the top half of their play-off groups until they reached the final, where they would end up losing 2-1 to the Albert-Cross Angels. However, their second season started off fairly badly, taking home seven wins in thirty-two games until former head coach Quentin Vaugrenard was fired and replaced by Marriott. Under Marriott, the Hawks would turn their fortunes around, grabbing a slew of wins and, as of writing, an eight-game undefeated streak. As a result, they've jumped up from dead last in 16th place to 11th place and just seven points away from a playoff spot.

So what was the cause of the turnaround, you find yourself asking. What made him turn from a team that could barely scrape a win to a team that could make it to the playoffs? And will this new reversal of fortune lead them to what they failed to acheive last season? I made the trip to Kebec and, through the Hawks' GM, I managed to set up a quick interview with him, which took place the day after a 2-0 victory over the Albert-Cross Angels:

BT: First of all, hello Mr. Marriott. Now, let's get the big question out of the way. How did you turn around the team in such a short amount of time?
RM: First, I implemented the same sorts of plans i did with the Bears. First, I figured out all the kinks in their armour and I sorted them out. I arranged some teambuilding exercises, including a day out at a mountain retreat. I utilised key players and tried to figure out how to bring their strengths out of practice and to the full game. And I took a look at those who could be better and either figured out how to improve their skills to add some depth or asked the GM if they could be traded.
BT: I see. And who are these star players?
RM: Grigori Kirov is the obvious choice. As I've previously said, he was an excellent player in the Savojar league and I bet his old team are kicking themselves for letting him go. Carré's pretty much the future of the team so I gave him some one-on-one training and he seems to be as good as Bonnel was last season. And Thibodeau went from average in the first half of the season to quite possibly worthy of the national team; however, unless he improves his stick handling and slapshots then I can't really imagine him being better than third of fourth line.
BT: Do you think you'll make it into the playoffs? In fact, do you think you'll break your own personal curse?
RM: Playoffs? Yes, definitely. Everyone's fitting into place, we're all working alright with the system and we're all working together as a team. We've got some real depth going and I think that it will definitely will take us far. But will it lead us to a win? I wouldn't really go that far. First we have to win enough of our last sixteen games to secure a spot and hope that we win enough games in the playoff group to go through to the next one. And then win enough games there to make it to the finals. It's a lot of work but we'll have to wait and see if it pays off.
BT: One last question before I go: How do you think your old team, the Barr Bears, are doing?
RM: I keep tabs on them all the time, looking them up on the ENIHL site and catching livestreams whenever I can. And I think they're doing great. Though I will say that this isn't the first time that they've been this successful without me in charge, though. I had to miss a couple of games last season due to illness and let Veni [Mitenaerin] take the reins. And he did a very good job. He knows what he's doing and, if they can't find someone to take over full-time, then I heartily recommend him.

Meanwhile, back in Barr, the Bears finished in eighth place under the guidance of Veni Mitenaerin, just six points behind the Mainsborough Icemen and three points in front of the Edgebaston Shamrocks, qualifying them for a seventh consecutive ENIHL playoffs. However, fortune wasn't on their side as they were swept 3-0 by league champions Rosetta Royals. The Bears narrowly lost 3-2 in game one, only being beaten by a last-minute goal from Cerin Meloten. However, the luck ran out in games two and three as they would lose 4-0 and 5-3 respectively. There is no word on whether or not Mitenaerin would remain head coach of the Bears or if he would resume his old position as an assistant coach.

A REVERSAL OF FORTUNE

BIG BAY CITY The arrival of Savojarn hockey star Grigori Kirov signaled for many a reversal in fortune for the struggling Big Bay Hawks, Kirov essentially revitalized the city with his superb play and wound up as Playoffs MVP and snuck away with the Goalie of the Year awards. However, one cannot doubt the impact of Elejamian coach Ray Marriott who quietly guided the team to an unparalleled championship after starting the first half of the season in the league gutter. Mariott thoroughly deserved the Coach of the year award he took home, as the Big Bay Hawks bested the Ederfield Grizzlies 4-2 in a best-of-7 series, prompting a ticker-tape parade in frigid Big Bay City, causing euphoria to unite the crowd of 65.000 gathered in downtown Big Bay City welcoming their starts home. Kirov of course was rightly and justly rewarded for his superb display of skill and poise, he was rewarded with a three-year N$8m contract despite turning 36 next week. However, the Big Bay Hawks chairmen seem ready to build the future of this team around the star that is Kirov, a small price to pay for their Odin Cup.

Coach Marriott, talking to the media after his team's emotional victory said, "I'm proud of the group of brothers that we have assembled receiving their well-deserved Odin Cup rings, they single-handedly proved to the country -- no to the world that they were ready to be champions. Despite how we started, we made sure we could do everything in our hands to finish the race and I'm proud of the squad we have built on display. We have seven months till we hit the ice again, we're going to come back better than ever next season..." Marriott was able to prove all the haters wrong, stunning Elejamian-Kebecois and even people tuning it from around the globe as the man known to always fail in the first stage of the playoffs turned a team around and went all the way in his first season, he has become quite popular among fans to as he picked up the Kebecois language rather quickly which is hard to do as Kebecois language is a mixture of English, French and Navajo.

The Big Bay Hawks must look to next season however, despite the 'let the good vibes flow' feeling in the locker room and boardrooms, there is no doubt Abelin Carré, the former goalie before Kirov's arrival must depart the team this offseason. The young 23 year-old is entering his final year of his rookie contract, due to be paid N$2.4m and yet has failed to do what his job entitles which is to stop pucks. Under his tutelage, during the first half of the season, out of 32 games, the Hawks only won 7, a disappointing number for the formerly hyped no. 1 draft-pick. I know despite what he says, the Big Bay Hawks general manger regrets picking Carré William Hauet who posted 22 goals in his sophomore season on the third-line.

However, there are rumors that this season we will see two new teams compete in the IHNL, the cities of Atalanta and North Hampton recently pitched their proposed teams to the IHNL Board of Commissioners, and with the upcoming new second-tier league soon to be announced by the title of Hockey Ligue 2, their is no doubt there will soon be a place for Carré to slowly develop his game and find a place to call home soon. One can only home that he is guided, as a player with his raw talent certainly should eventually have chance in the top-tier.

Of course, the fans don't give a horse-sh*t, they've just seen a miraculous journey for their team result in a stunning and rather convincing Odin Cup championship for their home team, the fans don't know the intricacies of the league, so they'll be partying the night away. Lucky for Kirov, he'll be finally verified in the Kebecois social media sight, MiGram so, all good comes around for each and everyone, right?

Regular Season - Part 1/2

Kebec's newly launched second-tier of hockey, titled Hockey Ligue 2 to replace the ancient and chronic JHLK took to the ice for its inaugural season, pitting sixteen rising teams into a 32-game grueling back-to-back schedule to choose two new teams to compete in KHL-1's season three. Included, some cities accustomed to being front and center got accustomed to being in the Kebec hockey picture's backyard, specifically Calix City which other hockey club, Clbe de Calix S.C. entered as the perennial favorites to win the league, so far, with half of the season in the books, they've proven they will not let up in their quest for promotion.

With half the season gone, the Calix City club, Clube de Calix S.C. has proven relentless, posting 11 wins to only 3 ties and 2 losses, if they were to maintain their form, they'd pose a 22-win season astounding for a recently created team. Voltmorgrad S.C., the team representing the biggest Russian population in Kebec is having a fine season sitting in fourth place, there seems to be hope for the team moving forward.

Regular Season - Part 2/2

Hockey Ligue 2 continued as four teams emerged as the perennial contenders with the second and third-placed teams within mere inches of eclipsing the eventual champions in Voltmorgrad S.C., it represented a changing tide as Voltmorgrad S.C. easily walked over the Atalanta Phoenix to triumph. The Bleu Blues, a recently formed club did well in their first year on ice rounding out the season with a strong fifth-place finish. A great season gives us even more hopes for next season!

A NEW DAWN

VOLTMORGRAD-ON-PATTERSON The city of Voltmorgrad-On-Patterson is very excited today, after all, today kicks off the opening games of the third season of the Kebecois Hockey League One, the top premier league in the Kebecois hockey system and one of the up-and-coming hockey leagues in Atlantian Oceania, certainly one of the only two hockey leagues in the multiverse to have a full sportswire devoted to themselves. Voltmorgrad-On-Patterson has quite a reason to be excited, their team, Voltmorgrad S.C. has gained promotion into the KHL-1 after topping the league in HL2 play last season, lead by Nikolas Palmietto, the sure-footed, sturdy defensemen who won MVP in HL2, Voltmorgrad S.C. is ready to make a splash this season and wreck some havoc on their opponents, faced with a melee on challenges in their first year playing in the big boys' league. Voltmorgrad-On-Patterson is considered a suburb of Dalvograd and always has fallen behind the shadow of Dalvograd concerning hockey, but a stunning two year rise now has them on the pinnacle of Kebecois greatness, all hockey players in Kebec dream of playing on the fully professional level, not the amateur circuit.

Several clubs made some ambitious moves during this off-season's free-agency and subsequent draft, while some teams shipped away their players, young players were abundant from all four corners of the multiverse as bulk was added throughout the KHL-1. Chief amongst them was the Big Bay Hawks who awarded All-Star goalie, Playoff MVP and Goalie of the Year-winner, Grigori Kirov with a 4-year N$32-million dollar contract extension, making him by far the highest-paid KHL-1 goalie, the second closest, Natanaël Fouché of the New Asgard Mighty Hammers makes N$3.2-million/year -- Kirov certainly will get his dough over the next four years, and he thoroughly deserves it after he seems to have found the fountain of youth last year.

However, the most blockbuster move of the offseason happened between the Keldax Tridents and Mercedini's premier club, the Zoloroni City Icers, opting to shrug off a monster contract, the Tridents traded away Nathan Delacroix, arguably the best goalie, even ahead of Kirov to the Icers who paid the highest known transfer fee in multiverse hockey, valued at $40-million and change (included, the Icers bagged Carson Kinney, an rising, young 23 year-old right-wing, very much agile and talented). The big question remains in Keldax though, how do they plan to fill the huge, gaping hole that Delacroix left? Stéphane Auger showed to be a decent, or actually serviceable back-up net-minder last year when Delacroix suffered the chicken pox as in Auger's six games he started, he went 2-4, however, giving up 15 goals in six games really won't cut it in the long run. The newly drafted William Croix, a highly-touted find out of college showed signs during training camp that this was the second coming of Delacroix, however there's also Kevin Lacan the long-shot of the squad who found his way on the team thru hard-work an dedication on the practice-squad, however, he showed he was a good piece also during training camp, so no doubt, Coach Boutlet has to plug some holes early on in the season.

The influx this season of non-national immigrants into the league was a source of much speculation as there seems to be an internal war brewing in Hockey Kebec headquarters on how to do with the sudden deposits of non-Kebecois players who will be playing this season, at current, their is no restrictions on non-Kebecois players playing in the KHL-1 or HL2, however, there are two staunch sides in Hockey Kebec wishing to pass their own agendas concerning non-citizens playing. With the Hockey Kebec elections looming straight after the WJHC XIV, we will get our questions answered concerning these players, after sniffing out noses, it seems many people are lobbying to allow a maximum of 4 internationals per squad in the KHL-1 and 2 internationals in HL2, this however has drawn frantic criticism from fans who wish to see a more international league.

And finally, we turn our heads and nod our greetings to the two young kids on the block, Clube de Calix City S.C. and Voltmorgrad S.C. who will be playing their first games with the big boys coming up, we expect certainly this season a lot of excitement out of their arenas and we will try our best to pump information out of them from each and every game, dissecting what its like to be on the rodeo for the first time, of course, Voltmorgrad S.C. ran away with the HL2 prize, but doing well in KHL-1, let alone avoiding regulation in their first year -- that's going to be the real challenge for these people. But of course, we'll give everyone some time, only time will tell so -- boogity, boogity boo, lets' go ~~racing~~ play hockey.
