WELCOME TO THE 57th WORLDVISION SONG CONTEST
Machievelihe, Britonisea

For the 57th WorldVision Song Contest, BVC has sent in Britonisea's 8th bid to host the WorldVision Song Contest. As Britonisea were called to host the 57th WorldVision Song Contest, this will be the third time Britonisea has been elected to host the contest. With previous editions on their side, BVC sends us to Machievelihe where we are expecting a great WorldVision Song Contest to take place. The Gyron Arena, which contains more than 26,000 people is filled up as the minutes count down the official opening of the competition. Firstly, we will go through the quick Nation's Parade, which is where all the nations which are participating in this edition will be seen on the stage for the first time, before swiftly going in to the Opening Act of the 57th WorldVision Song Contest. If the schedule goes according to plan, the first act should perform 13 minutes in to the broadcast. After all acts have performed, the lines will open, and during the Interval Act, the people at home (and/or juries) will vote. After the Interval Act, we will come together and reveal the points of all countries. The winning country will not be known until the end, and it's set to be a very close race.

Parade of Nations
Machievelihe Orchestra of Sound- "The Parade"
Tune : Gravity Falls (Densel Remix)
Music: Machievelihe Orchestra Conductor: Jake Pearson

NOTE: Commentators are advised not to commentate during the Parade of Nations.

The official WorldVision Song Contest opening had been played and ended. The audience had started to applaud as the camera slowly entered in to the arena, where there was a spotlight on the conductor of this Parade, as well as a the player of those chimes that came in. As those chimes came in and louder and louder, and everything started to sound distorted, the lights started to light up the arena - the panels. As the chimes started to play the melody of the song, the lights kept on flashing as the the the camera swerved around from the back end of the arena straight in front of the stage. You could see a figure come out of the dark, and as 00:17 came about, the arena shone in red, green and blue.

"First to the stage, Song Number One, Izmedu!"

The audience applauded loudly for Izmedu. They are a liked country in the nation in Britonisea, and it was a treat to have them perform first, for the first time, in Machievelihe. Tamara K came out from the left of the stage with her snazzy dress, walking with style to the applause of the audience. Blowing a kiss to the audience, she proceeded to walk to the front before posing for a while. She then walked back, going through the right exit. After this, came Lons. Lons participated in the WorldVision Song Contest in Quickenden, and so the Britonish Public were quite excited to see them return once again. At 00:28, the Lonish participant walked out to the sound of their nation's name being called out.

"Welcome to the stage, Song Number Two, Lons!"

As the Lonish representative walked out on the stage, the audience erupted as Lonish flags were swung in to the air. They then all walked to the edge of the stage, smiling in to the camera as the red and white of their flag dispersed over the stage floor and walls. They then turned around and walked off from the right, following the way Tamara had went. By now, Tamara was half way to the greenroom, watching everyone come out and show themselves on the stage. She was greeting Britonish fans, as well as the Izmeduan fan group who she passed. Next on the stage; Normandy and Picardy. The three men walked on the stage at 00:37;

"What a treat! It's Song Number Three, Normandy and Picardy!"

Normandy and Picardy's acts, which included a man named Jules, walked to the edge and smiled before turning back, hoping not to intrude in the parade for Polkopia. Next up on the stage is Polkopia. After recent news about the nation, the Britonish audience seemed to be a bit wary of the nation, as the astonishing Elizaveta Loncar walked on the stage. With mixed reactions, 00:46, she walked up to the edge of the Britonish stage.

"On fleek, isn't she? it is Song Number Four, Polkopia!"

Slight jeers from the audience were muted as some sections of the Gyrode Arena cheered loudly, calling for the nation's eighth win. The Polkopian colours shone throughout the arena as the colours started to expand outwards. At this point, the beautiful Elizaveta Loncar turned around with a smile, just like the one in her picture, and walked off the stage to the right. At 00:55, the next nation's representative came out. This time it is Kalosia! The audience thought that the running order was quite odd this year. Usually it is uncommon for all these nations to follow one another, and in a normal contest, they would have been more spread out. But, this is the running order!

"Next up, it is Song Number Five, Kalosia!"

The Kalosian representative walked out on to the stage, bubbly like their song. Dark blue and white was shone inside the arena as the audience cheered for the nation. They representative then walked back, following the Polkopian representative. Alicia Sumner then came out, the woman who represented Titaniumland back in WorldVision Song Contest 33, is back 24 editions later to represent the country again. Alicia Sumner came out like the queen she is. She doesn't need a mirror, she looks fantastic! By 01:03, she makes her full appearance.

"After a long break, it is Song Number Six, Titaniumland!"

Alicia Sumner walked to the end of the stage before placing her hands to her chest, before smiling towards the audience. Alicia then bowed her head before slowly making her way off the Britonish stage to sound of applause from the audience. By now, the Izmeduan and Lonish participants had reach the greenroom room and sat down. But back to the stage, the debutants walk on to the stage. Manaime's delegation now walks on to the stage, Mariella Orellio D'Calla and Jer'mi Feglender. The audience claps for these two. The audience was unfamiliar with the nation who appeared on the stage, but politely cheered for them at around 01:11.

"Newcomers to the WorldVision Song Contest, it is Song Number Seven, Manaime!"

Mariella Orellio D'Calla and Jer'mi Feglender both bowed to the audience before smiling. The colours of Manaime spread throughout the arena and to avoid going over, the pair turned around and followed out through the right. Suddenly, Goluta came out to greet themselves. The audience started to generate quite a lot of noise for them. Dunen Rubell, Mujkann Vjox, Zontir Aspaj, Russkej Manntjaj, Eliss Elidix, Lajaj Balxtann and Wantja fBlanef all walked on to the stage happily. The camera came from the opposite side and greeted the pair to their face before zooming outwards. Goluta was announced at around 01:18.

"Say hello! It is Song Number Eight, Goluta!"

Can the delegation from Goluta win this one? We will all find out later. Make way for the Tremendous Togonistan. Tremendous walked out of the left side of the stage, with some applause from the audience, a lot of applause. Togonistan's Tremendous walked to the edge of the stage as the colours of Togonistan exploded throughout the arena. At 01:32, Togonistan was announced to a huge applause.

"Give a warm welcome to Song Number Nine, Ekoz!"

"Next up it is Song Number Ten, Togonistan!"

Tremendous graciously bowed at the audience and held his hand on his heart before turning away from the audience, and walking back. The colours from Togonistan had disappeared as the pace of the music picked up and intensified. Next up on the stage is Adab. There was a huge applause as soon as Kinan Al-Salaman walked out on the WorldVision stage...again. Modestly, Kinan Al-Salaman walked on the stage as the colours of Adab were shown in the arena. A steadicam followed Al-Salaman as he walked further in to the audience, and with this, at 01:38, the nation's name was called out.

"A True WorldVision veteran, Song Number Eleven, Adab!"

Kinan Al-Salaman looked back at the colours of the his nation stretch far and wide throughout the arena. As the camera changed to another angle, Kinan turned around and started to walk off as another debuting nation was about to walk out on to the WorldVision stage. Socialist Skeletons was due on the stage as they are act number 12. Sofia and Chloe Bone, sisters, walked on the stage wearing their traditional outfits, which was a sneak peak of their performance they are due to perform. At 01:44, their nation was called out.

"Next up on the stage, Song Number Twelve, Socialist Skeletons!"

The audience cheered cautiously, not sure what to make out from the name of the nation. Sofia and Chloe came to the end of the stage before bowing and then walking backwards. Suddenly, the audience started to cheer again, but this time they cheered very loudly. Why? Well, because the next nation to come out on the stage was last edition's winner. Last edition's winner is Todlichebujoku, and Asuka Virtanen came out on the stage to a loud roar. Not sure whether she thought the roar was for her, but I can confirm it wasn't - even if she is a great singer. Overwhelmed, Asuka took a bow and blew a few kisses in to the air as the nation's name was called out at 01:52

"It's the winners of WorldVision 56, Song Number Thirteen, Todlichebujoku!

There were a few muted souls in the audience. We have to remember that Todlichebujoku did perform straight after that, and that probably hurt out chances at winning! According to some salty audience members. But overall, the reception of the nation in the Gyrode Arena was fantastic as the colours in the arena lit up in all shades of blue. However, as the colours started to disappear, it was time for the next nation to show themselves. Walking out to the roar of the audience, who still hadn't calmed down from Todlichebujoku, the cute Filius Deorum walked out in his suit, to the name of his nation being called out at 02:01.

"Next on the stage, Song Number Fourteen, it's Mister X!"

The applause was cordial, very welcoming for Filius Deorum. The lights in the arena lit up magnificently in the colours of the Mister Xian flag as Filius Deorum took a bow at the edge of the stage - that's the front of the stage, Filius. The audience glared at the man as he turned around politely and began to walk off, but as he walked off cheers started to turn in to chuckles as Gertrude Pullman came strolling out with The Gertrude Pullman Band. "JOIN MY CHURCH! JOIN MY CHURCH!" Gertrude shouted in to the audience, which caused minor boos in the arena. The voice-over said the name at around 02:12.

"Amen! It is Song Number Fifteen, Electrum Diplomatic Offices!"

"SEND ME SOME CASH! CONVERT TODAY!" she said repetitively, as the colours of the nation lit up in the arena. The audience were slightly confused by the offer, but it would make sense when they perform. Kind of. Next up on the stage came Electrum, and with this came a massive applause. No, not tennis balls like in Quickenden, but a nice, hearty roar from everyone in the crowd made up for that. Pelissa Pisera, who represented Electrum in the WorldVision Song Contest in Ekoz, the 40th Edition, came out on the stage smiling. 02:19 the nation's name was called out;

"We missed them, didn't we? It is Song Number Sixteen, Electrum!"

To this, the noise of the audience amplified as the nation's name was heard. Pelissa Pisera smiled and bowed at the audience. The delegation wasn't being lazy, but as this country has the exact same colours as EDO, the same lights were used for Electrum, not that anyone would notice. Now, if you thought that was loud, Reis Malik came out and a huge, massive applause was heard for this man. Quite well known because of his World Hit appearance, and just because Estogium is the neighbour of Britonisea, he had received one of the largest applauses of the Parade so far. At 02:27, Estogium was called out.

"Say hello to our neighbours, it is Song Number Seventeen, it's Estogium!"

Estogium's representative came running out of the stage's left and walked to the end of the stage, smiling. He turned his head, and made a cup with his hands behind his ear as the applause grew louder. He then blew kisses in to the audience before running off the stage. Wazekia came walking out on the stage now, and this was also to a very large applause. Wazekia is well known in Britonisea, their last WorldVision performance was in Britonisea. 02:36 was the time when Wazekia was called out!

"What a family reunion! It's Song Number Eighteen, it's Wazekia!"

Dauma Norslak came walking out on the stage with the colours of Wazekia filling up the arena. Dauma walked to the edge before bowing, posing for the cameras to get that perfect angle, before walking off the stage, as the colours dimmed away for the next nation. It is Missus X. Rick leg is not liked in Britonisea for his obscure entries in the past, including entries he has sent to Britonisea. As Rick Leg walked out, the Britonish audience unwillingly clapped for him as he came out to the end of the stage and the nation's name was called out at 02:45.

"On the stage, taking it serious, it is Song Number Nineteen, it's Missus X!"

Rick Leg was being serious this time around, so there were no pelvic thrusts or anything. The Britonish audience were relieved. As Rick Leg turned away from the audience, red roses were chucked on to the stage, from the group of fans from Merecendi and Monaeroglisseurest Pleindanguilles. Next on the stage is Kwadai, and this was very much liked nation in Britonisea. Receiving a loud applause, Lila Zaman came walking out on the stage as though she was on the catwalk. With one hand, she twiddled her fingers about, saying hello to everyone in the arena and watching at home. Kwadai was called out at 02:53.

"Now on the stage, it is Song Number Twenty, Kwadai, of course!

The audience shouted the nation's name out as Lila gave off a little chuckle. Lila then turned around, still twiddling her fingers, and walked off. Next up on the stage was Balkvla Islands, and the gorgeous Gaeilge Woman group walked out on the stage as the audience cheered for them. Walking out all together, they all looked fabulous. The colours of Balkvla Islands warmed the arena, and their nation's name was called out.

"Next up, it is Song Number Twenty One, it is Balkvla Islands!"

The women walked to the edge of the stage and gave a bow to the audience. The audience clapped for them as they watched their beauty. They were going to sing about refugees in crisis, a real problem. The girls then turned around and walked off to the largest applause for the night. It was the turn of the host nation to come out and show themselves. Britonisea. The crowd started to cheer as the Britonish colours lit up the audience, they're bathed in the colours of their own flag. Mello Cinde came out to a unbelievable applause, with made her tear up at 03:12.

"It is the home nation, everyone, please welcome Song Number Twenty Two, Britonisea!"

The camera quickly panned out and focused on a group of people furiously waving the Britonish flag in the air, but waving it proudly. There was a sense of pride which shocked them as the Britonish colours came up on the screens, and Mello Cinde came out. However, there are still nation's left to come out. As Mello Cinde did a twirl for the audience, she winked at the camera before walking off, the way everyone else did. She was so proud. Next on the stage is Antahbrantahstan, and Tike Prihastiwi came walking out on the stage, still with the audience cheering loudly after Britonisea. At 03:21, Antahbrantahstan was called out.

"Hello there, it is Song Number Twenty Three, Antahbrantahstan!"

Tike Prihastiwi came to the end of the stage and bowed to the sound of the audience. Like nations like Izmedu and Kwadai, Antahbrantahstan was quite liked too, and eventhough the audience had finally started to calm down from Britonisea's appearance, the applause remained loud, and was still one of the loudest any nation received. Tike turned around and walked off as the colours of Antahbrantahstan died out. Saviera was next on the stage, and quite frankly Britonisea knew nothing about them. Someone named 4in mysteriously walked on to the stage which silenced the audience almost immediately. They watched her as she made her way to the edge of the stage and waved frantically. The camera zoomed in to her pocket, where something green was hanging out, but she quickly tucked it away and giggled as the nation was called out at 03:40.

"Weh, it's song Number Twenty Four, it is our friends, Arioslavia!"

"Hmm, I feel quite hungry. Nevermind, it is Song Number Twenty Five, Saviera!"

The Savieran colours spread out upon the stage before it quickly disappeared again, and before you knew it, so did 4in. Mysterious...Next; Monaeroglisseurest Pleindanguilles. As the lean farmer, Étienne Delacroix, walked out on the stage, a huge applause were heard from them by 03:45. The audience couldn't take it, as some in the audience start to shout "TAKE OFF YOUR SUIT! TAKE OFF YOUR SUIT!"

"It is Song Number Twenty Six, Monaeroglisseurest ... Pleindanguilles!"

Broadcasters across the world are either looking at Étienne Delacroix with distaste or lust, but his swagger as he walked on the stage won the Britonish crowd over. As he stood by the edge of the stage, he smiled cheekily which melted the hearts of many of the WorldVision fans out there. Étienne then turned around, walking off the stage to the right.

"Who'sa dabbin'? It's Song Number Twenty Seven...Merecendi!"

The audience cheered as Merecendi's participant, Chaste D, came on the stage dabbing ferociously. The colours of Merecendi lit up the stage as the the dabbing became more intense, with Chaste D now using both her hands to dab, it was time for her to walk off the stage for the next act, Corrvale, who received a great cheer.

"Finally, it is Song Number Twenty Eight, Corrvale!"

At the end of it all, Hannah Baker came walking out on the stage with a long silver glittery dress on. The audience cheered loudest of all for Hannah as he raised her arms in the air and breathed in deeply.

"Welcome to the WorldVision Song Contest!" The audience cheered loudly for her as she lowered her arms, "And welcome to Machievelihe!" The audience applauded again. "Tonight, tens of nations will perform to try and win the contest in Machievelihe. We are so excited for the contest to take place. But before we go to the first act, Izmedu.." The audience cheered again for Izmedu as she winked at the camera, "It is time to listen to our WorldVision hopefuls, veterans, as they sing a song for you. But before that," she stressed, "Let's give a large round of applause for the Jake Pearson and the wonderful, wonderful orchestra!" The camera spun around to Jake Pearson who was smiling cheekily to the camera. "Right, it is time for the Opening Act, don't you think?"

Opening Act

Postby Britonisea » Mon Jun 26, 2017 1:21 pm

Image

The audience started clapping greatly as Hannah Baker walked off of the stage and the lights dimmed once again. All the audience were seated, and so were all the participants. Welcome to the 57th WorldVision Song Contest!

Opening Act
Machievelihe Orchestra of Sound ft WorldVision Stars - "From Us, With Love"
Tune : Elbow - First Steps
Music: Machievelihe Orchestra Conductor: Henrietta Wilson

00:00 – Before the piece of music started, the audience started cheer loudly as a lone camera came in to the arena. The stage was dark, apart from the LED panels on each side of the stage and by the tunnel part. Suddenly, the image then faded away to another shot, but this shot was of the orchestra pit. Unlike in recent editions, the orchestra pit has been reintroduced and is being used in the first part song of the night. The audience slowly quietened down as the camera focused on the conductor, who lifted his arm in to the air. High pitched string instruments started to play, and by this time, the audience was in silence, though lights started flashing both on the stage and in the audience as people turned the lights on their phones. Suddenly deep brass instruments joined in with the strings, along with other instruments. As of yet, nothing happened, though this was about to change.
00:31 – As the song started to pick up in volume, a group of people started walking on to the stage, going to each corner of the stage. In fact, if you closely looked at those who walked on the stage, it was a group of previous Britonish participants, including the likes of Mini Surrey North, Mya Richardson, Evangeline Hope, Amedeo Arjan and new and upcoming artists, who are hoping to represent Britonisea one day including the duo from the KNTRY GIRLS and Zeke Lemondey. With this the stage lit up in to multiple colours as everyone came on.

Tonight, we’re here.
To celebrate,
Music and peace,
Love and Unity.

01:12 – Here they all started to move back in to the centre of the stage as the camera quickly faded from inside the pit of the orchestra back to those singing on the stage. The audience started to sway along to the song as they started to feel the realness of the orchestra as the deeper strings kicked in. The volume of said orchestra started to get louder as the LED screens behind started to show pictures and videos of winning songs from WorldVision 31, when Britonisea had debut in the contest; it was the winner from Lyonsland who was the first to feature on the stage.

We've worked tireless nights,
To make sure your safe.
You’re loved,
Cared for,
We think we’re done for now.

01:40 – Here all the singers started to hug each other before forming a five-pointed start of which the camera captured by shooting from the top of the stage downwards, watching them get in to formation. They kept on singing “From Us, With Love,” as the music kept on playing. The camera would occasionally show Britonish fans in the audience watching with glee and excitement. They treat moments like this as though this is the last time the contest will be held in Britonisea, and the BVC make sure to put on a show as though it is their last ever contest. By 02:10, all the singers put their hands up in to the air as other dancers flood in from the spaces between them in to the star.

Thank-you, we say,
For support. (Oh-Oh)
Each step of the way.
We'll show gratitude...

03:03 – Here, all the singers had ran off the stage, only leave the dancers – majority of which were quite young (16-19) and in slow motion is looked as though they were running towards the audience in a large race, climbing over on top of each other. The lights in the stage quickly flashed on and off as those in the orchestra seemed to be enjoying themselves as the camera quickly shot at them before going back to the main event on the stage. By 03:30, they all seemed to be going in retrograde, moving backwards, not on top of each other, but by now they were forming a line, backing up in to the tunnel which lit up as the people started to line up. As the singing came back in, the singers came back in to the arena with candles. It seemed as though there were more singers, and walking with the song, they swayed along in to the middle of the arena, where there was a large space for them. Sure, some of the people who booked their ticket to be in the circle were pushed out a bit, but this was temporary and those tickets were cheap tickets.

From Us, With Love;
A grand show,
As each song, each moment
Each heartbeat will last!

04:26 – Here, they all belted this part out which made the hair on people’s skin stand up with their beautiful harmonies interweaving with each other. A camera from the far left of the arena swooped in past those who were the singers to the dancers who were on the stage, and then back down to the orchestra pit, every single one of them looked tired in the face with the amount of sound they are producing. They were also humming along to the music, while repeatedly singing these phrases.

Lifetime!
Lifetime!
Woo!

5:20 - After the "Woo!" it was the last time that the vocalists were to be heard. And as the song's outro began, all of the dancers and singers embraced each other, of which the aerial camera zoomed out, spinning around, and so the audience at home could see everyone coming together. The audience started to cheer, even if the music was not done. The camera then focused on the lone man in the orchestra pit as he played on the guitar, only to be accompanied by more orchestral strings nearer the end of the song. A flame was shown on the LED screens as all the singers and dancers left the stage - not in a hurry, though. The audience was applauding until the host, Hannah Baker, came on the island stage, with her microphone in her hand.

Hannah: I think it is time to get to the music. After 12 minutes of waiting, welcome the first act to the stage. I can officially announce that the 57th WorldVision Song Contest begins!

The camera quickly zoomed out of Hannah, showed the image above, with the Izmeduan postcard playing in the background. The triangle shrunk and grew, as though it was clicked on, and the WORLDVISION 57 was changed in to "IZMEDU," a feature on all of the postcards. The "The Performances" bit also disappeared and was not to be featured on any of the postcards. The postcards are moving, before they end with the name of the nation, their running order number, where they video was taken (shown as a picture in the picture postcards) and a line from the song that stuck out.

Enjoy the show!

01. IZMEDU
Tamara K. - Don't Let This Moment Fade

Tune: Carly Rae Jepsen - Cut to the Feeling

“There's that once in a lifetime in a moment in all our lives where bliss actually feels real... I want to come back to that again, and I want to show the world that there is a light beyond even the grimmest darkness. For me, this is my life, and I want to share it with you.” - Tamara K.

The job of following up Terezija Novak's “Rat” caused there to be a dark shadow looming over RTI. In terms of the channel, there had been some soul-searching after the tie with Todlichebujoku. While Terezija Novak's comeback was statistically the best result for the country since WorldVision 38, real questions began to rise over the coveted chances of winning the contest. Could Izmedu actually do it again? Would it ever see the top of the leaderboard? Some internally protested against this mindset, considering not just Izmedu's World Hit Festival success but also the string of 2nd places due to the national final format. Bringing up results would be tempting fate, but the channel approached the new cycle with this in mind, and with changes to their preferences... “Rat” may have now dominated Izmeduan fan circles as being hailed as the country's best entry, but replicating it was not going to be ideal for the channel.

Fast forward to the night of Izmepisma, and Tamara K. found herself with the Izmeduan baton after the Izmeduan televote secured her chances for the win, beating out pre-contest favorites such as Gabrijel Celina and the controversial yet popular collaboration between Ela SAM and Ivosev. Tamara was everything that the channel had been looking for as a new way to re-invent the Izmeduan entry, and “Don't Let This Moment Fade” was precisely the kind of life-affirming song necessary to help Izmedu push a new path forward and, for at least one edition, reinvent itself. Tamara wasn't aware of this line of thinking as the channel made the official motion to financially support her after her win. While grateful of the win, Tamara didn't even think about the broadcast politics or the implications of her Izmepisma win... For Tamara, her reasons for entering were simple.

She was a believer in bringing smiles and joy through music.

Tamara is a 17 year old singer hailing from Vodiznad, raised in a tight-knit musical family but also being rather active in the city's infamous party scene. She was born to a family that whose claim to fame was establishing the Vodiznad klapa tradition, with her father (Dusko Karleusa) being a renowned traditional singer credited with changing the face of the Vodiznad local music scene and re-establishing the city as a veritable hub of Izmeduan klapa. Thus, from a young age, Tamara was actually trained in traditional Izmeduan music despite its traditional roles being relegated largely to male-only groups. Thus, this sort of exclusion led Tamara to discover Izmeduan pop at a formative age, with her inspirations largely being Katarina Zunic, Helena Dakovic, but also Anja Krajacic in her more pop-based days. However, Tamara could never quite box herself in that category, with her timbre being more lighter and deft versus the heavier gravitas and emotionality of Zunic and Dakovic.

At the age of 13, that was where Tamara had her first blush with the Izmeduan pop industry via a chance recording session in which her Dad was calling the shots for a rookie klapa group's first single. She was mostly there for relaxation purposes, it had been the end of a school day and there was nothing for her to do. However, what she didn't know that executives from one of Izmedu's pop labels were there at the same time, due to record with Izmeduan cross-over star, Naida Jurisa. As she explored the various recording the booths, Tamara began to sing a catchy pop hook she wrote in secret, catching the eye of that same executive overseeing Naida Jurisa's new signle, Mia Vukas, a veritable name in her own right as one of Izmedu's top music executives as the a critical artist liaison and chief creative officer of one of Izmedu's big 4 pop labels. As the tale was often told, Mia overheard the young Tamara sing in that hallway, struck by the unique tone of her voice and how unlike it was compared to the Izmeduan women currently dominating the charts. From there, after determining that she was the daughter of famed klapa singer Dusko Karleusa, history was made.

After a tense and protracted agreement between Mia and the Kaleusa family, Tamara signed a development deal under Mia Vukas' label just 9 months after that fateful meeting. Instead of an immediate production of music, great care was undertaken to prepare Tamara for the toils of the Izmeduan music industry and the media that she had to prepare for. Thus, she ran the full gamut of a re-invention in the way she carried herself and how she'd style her image. She proposed to present herself as the antithesis to emotional pop, slotting herself in Ziva Lipovac's 'no-frills' niche but with a focus on cheerfulness. While a risky venture, Vukas was receptive to the idea, and the following years were spent training for a debut at the end of her adolescent years.

The resulting product of that preparation? “Don't Let This Moment Fade,” which was written when it was decided that Tamara needed to begin recording music as part of her development deal. Largely inspired by Tamara's experiences in celebrity life that were tightly controlled by her label, it was a formative song which traced Tamara's development as a sheltered child to one experiencing a taste of late adolescence, in which that song was a note of positivity instead of the conflicting emotions surrounding Izmeduan pop. Like most of Izmedu's past participants, the creation of the song came at perfect timing, and Mia saw an opportunity unlike any other to debut her new pop protege.

Send the song to Izmepisma as a way to give Tamara an instant promotional platform, have it at least qualify and place highly, and Tamara was secured a spectacular debut at the Izmeduan top 100.

The unexpected variable? Tamara garnering strong international support and a landslide televote, of which both combined secured Tamara's right to represent Izmedu in WorldVision 57. Despite her relative youth (at 17 years old, she is the youngest Izmeduan WorldVision participant since WorldVision 36's Zlatica), she saw it as an opportunity to spread her music and positivity worldwide. Almost seeming like a miracle, the typical pressure of being a WorldVision participant did not get to Tamara at all, with her taking the status in stride and heavily emphasizing her goal of 'just wanna get people dancing.'

Now tasked with opening the show at Machievelihe, Britonisea, Tamara took a deep breath and stepped onto the stage... A feeling of liberation overcoming her.

Stage lights billowed down to the center timed to an voluminous crowd cheer at the Gyrode Arena. This was a first for the Izmeduan delegation, with the country not having performed in the first five entries, much less being drawn the first spot, since WorldVision 36. As darkness began to dominate the arena and with the entry indicators disappearing, the camera faded to a mid-shot view of the stage cloaked in darkness...

A streak of blue lights appeared on the back screens cascading into a 'S' curve in time to the instant beginning of the song, sounding almost like sustained chimes that appeared only for a second before fading into an array of blue lights that began to illuminate the Gyrode Arena to a blue hue. The camera zoomed out slightly towards the direction of the audience, revealing Tamara to be wearing this performance outfit and standing center-stage as the instrumentation was dominated by a 'clapping' rhythm, the blue lights shining to the beat as she followed the camera with a coy, innocent smile. As the camera took a mid-view of her, she raised the microphone to her hand in preparation for the first verse...

Felt like a year, of blissful dreams
Going by with blazing speed with
(All such a blur, with no turning back)
It's the thrill of losing yourself
No time to worry yourself on
(Don't feel panic, just dance it away)

Two dancers and backup singers that would flank Tamara began to slowly groove over to the stage as she sang the introductory verse, with Tamara working the camera with that gamely innocent look, beckoning it to come closer to her catch the moment on display on stage. A streak of white spotlights began to shine down on Tamara at the third line as she walked backwards away from the stage catwalks, re-convening with the two backup dancers as if they were long lost friends by the fourth line. On the screens, flashes of black and white photos of Izmeduan night life began to show, with the photo gallery going over every picture in less than a second, switching over with a blur effect to reflect the pace of the song. At the last half of the verse, Tamara fist bumped with her dancers then performed a precise choreography in which each movement was timed to her vocals, with them huddling together at the end, looking like the beginning of a girls' night out.

See those golden lights shining? I'll take it by storm
And be free-eee-eeee
Yeah-aaaaa-ahhh

The pictures of night life faded to a nightclub scene that was painted in gold mosaic, in which the stage lights also quickly reflected the change by turning into bright, pulsing columns of Gold. Tamara turned around and looked over to the screen, the camera quickly switching to a view towards her singing to the screen and with the two backup dancers looking at Tamara and each other, nodding excitedly over the burgeoning party. The beats behind the song intensified at each one, with Tamara turning back to the audience as the camera moved accordingly, craning its view as Tamara and maintaining a close view of her as she vocalized 'free' and 'yeah,' an echo effect added to her vocals to make it resonate through the Gyrode Arena.

Just wanna let loose and feel my body's freedom
Let me take that pure pleasure of synesthesia
Don't let this moment fade away, no no
Don't let this moment fade away, no no
Blurs of color and feeling, can't be replaced
Where day and night means nothing, just you and I
Don't let this moment fade away, no no
Don't let this moment fade away, no no

At the outset of the song's energetic and trademark chorus, Tamara went to the one of the catwalks with her dancers in tow, pumping up the crowd as the song let loose with its hidden guitars, pulsing beats, and with Tamara belting out the lyrics with a carefree demeanor. The back screens transitioned from that gold mosaic to a stream of blue and gold, a series of abstract patterns that would then transform into a kaleidoscope of yellow and gold that contorted and reflected the liberating energy of the song. Similarly, the floor screen also reflected this same background image, with each step and movement that Tamara and the background dancers took influencing the way the kaleidoscope images would move about and absorb each other. During the first half of the chorus, the camera focused mostly on Tamara as she was focused on making sure that she was carrying the song vocally, but her movements were indeed indicative of someone leading the night life. She twirled her way to the catwalk, reaching down towards the audience at parts as the camera view did a sideways survey view, cutting in closer at each moment she quickly reached down to feel the energy of the crowd. However, her movements were deliberately uncoordinated, in contrast to the dancers who had initially followed Tamara before breaking off into the other catwalks, performing their own choreography. At each refrain of the song's title, the camera went for an angled bird's eye view of Tamara, with her reaching for the camera as she passionately sang “Don't Let This Moment Fade Away.” This would be sustained for the second half of the chorus, with the camera making wide sweeping views of the stage.

At the end of the chours, the kaleidoscope 'froze' on both the screen and the floor, with the image being stratified into 6 pieces and the camera bypassing Tamara to immediately focus on what would happen as the Tamara and her troupe immediately retreated to center-stage. Timed to the brief instrumental, the kaleidoscope turned into yellow and black abstract outlines of themselves. As the song eased into its second verse, they began to move as the lights calmed from their frenetic and frenzied configuration from the chorus into a constant baby blue. At an instrumental flourish, each spotlight shone individually in a Z-like formation before descending upon Tamara.

With a night so full of joy
Our journeys are unforgettable
(Picture perfect, keep it permanent)
The time that we shared and loved
Happens only once, let's be clear
(Irreplaceable, almost unreal)

Two more dancers began to accompany Tamara and the two she already had, with them wearing similar outfits to Tamara. As the moving kaleidoscope abstractions remained on the screen and with the lights stable, the emphasis on this verse was a tighter choreography and camaraderie between them all. Tamara fist-bumped with one of them as a few others hugged quickly before busting a few sly moves, greeting each other with arm shakes and expressing 'hellos' through one backflip in the case of one dancer. Despite looking disheveled, the atmosphere reflected the lyrics as the camera was intimately focused on these moments, looking almost like a smartphone camera recording at a few points with deliberate (but gentle) shakes and the frenetic pace of what a snapchat party recording would look like. As the verse ended, the camera returned back to normal, focusing on a wider view of the stage with Tamara going in front.

Hear the rhythms down the street, that pure melody?
They make us free-eee-eeee
Yeah-aaaaa-ahhhh

For this pre-chorus, the dancers began Tamara lined up in formation behind her, looking almost like a line about to enter a night club and waiting for the bouncer to approve their entry. On the screens and the floors, soundwaves began to give a little bit of life to the kaleidoscopes, with the lights beginning to pulse gold and baby blue to reflect the the impending appearance of the chorus. Additionally, the song was artificially bass-boosted just for this particular part, the beats rumbling through the Gyrode Arena as Tamara executed the vocal 'free' and 'yeah,' a smile on her face as the camera closed up on her...

With the chorus came an abundance of light and movement, the kaleidoscope image from the first chorus re-appearing once again as the Tamara and the dancers each broke off to 'party' on the stage's multiple mini-catwalks. The camera maintained an overhead view for the first half of the chorus, slowly zooming and easing outwards to also see that the floor itself was also a kaleidoscope of effects. The routine was similar to the first chorus, with Tamara gracefully moving towards the catwalks and engaging with the crowd as she sang the chorus, the camera closing up on her in occasion but taking much more unique angles instead of a constant bird's eye focus (a slight dutch angle for some, as well as a focus on her hand pointing upwards as the second 'don't let this moment fade.') At the second half of the chorus, the camera went one on one to each dancer as they pumped up the crowd in unison, all of them reaching out their hands to he crowd to do a running high five with most of them. At the end of the chorus, the dancers re-convened with Tamara as they all stepped back to center-stage rhythmically, many of them clapping to the beat as the kaleidoscope turned into its quintessential outline via those beats, creating an effect of gold abstract lines running across the screen and the floor.

Show me that this is real, that this isn't some coy trick
These intense feelings aren't pretend acting
Show me that this is real, that this isn't some coy trick
These intense feelings aren't pretend acting
Let's run, let's fly
Let's rule this one night, aaaaa-ahhhhh

These gold abstract lines began to pulse, slowly transforming into the words that Tamara was singing for the bridge as the dancers stood frozen behind her, posing as if they were in the middle of a party video and the viewer decided to stop. Tamara walked around them as the camera took a close, almost smartphone-like view of the stage again, 'following' Tamara as she sang this bridge with the blue and golden lights pulsing to the beat. At the end of the bridge, the beats slowed their pace as the dancers began to move once more, Tamara motioning her right arm to the left, to the top, and then holding it out as she belted 'let's rule this one night' with the words appearing in gold font behind her.

The kaleidoscope images from the chourses appeared once again as Tamara took control, the dancers repeating their routine from earlier. However, the focus for the song's closing was all on Tamara herself, as she ad-libbed on some parts, belting out a note in replace of a 'no no' as she surveyed the entire stage, instead of staying in the center catwalk. She even took a moment to hold a fan's hand at the front as she was singing, kneeling down at the entirety of the second half of the chorus as she belted out 'don't let this moment fade away' to the audience directly. The dancers were right behind her, engaging the fans in their own way, jumping and skipping about as if in a rave. The camera again motioned for a similar view of the previous choruses, preferring an overhead approach with the occasional close-up to Tamara's ad-libs.

Just wanna let loose and feel
Oh, please don't let this fade!
Let me take that pure pleasure
Don't let this moment fade away
(Don't let this moment fade away)
Don't let this moment fade away
Don't let this moment fade away

Now at the home stretch, this was where Tamara ad-libbed more liberally, standing up from the audience with the dancers now in formation behind her as whatever parts she didn't sing, they did. The exhaustion was evident in Tamara, but she kept pushing onward with a smile as she held a hand up, still gamely singing the chorus as the dancers behind her were supporting Tamara with intense choreography, huddling around her as if she was the life of the party. In here, the smartphone-like filter appeared as the camera on the stage itself followed Tamara and the dancers as they huddled around her, an iconic shot of Tamara holding a hand up as she belted out the song's title with the dancers looking like engaged spectators. At the end of this modified chorus, the lights faded as the dancers all had their hands held up, with Tamara closing the song by her lonesome with the kaleidoscope effects on the screens fading with a particle effect, the lights also shutting off at that moment...

“Britonisea!!! I love you!! Thank you!!!” Tamara said, blowing a kiss to the crowd and walking backstage with her troupe, not wanting to delay the next act.

3 - Normandy and Picardy
The Indigo Project - Carry On
Tune: (Arcade Fire - Everything Now)

How? The fact Normandy and Picardy did so well yet again not only surprised the international audience - some had said the nation would struggle to retain their Top 10 record - but also surprised NNN, but it showed that the new direction the nation was taking was working very well indeed. Cheers and bottles of champagne being opened were the main sounds coming from NNN headquarters that night, even accounting; anyone would have thought Normandy and Picardy had won. So, it was immediately obvious that the national final would be coming back once more, given its amazing success. However, in an unexpected twist, the NF was renamed 'A Song For Normandy', to try to appeal to a global audience; for the first time, all of NNN's WV broadcasting was to be shown on NNN Monde. Everyone knew the contest couldn't be as big as last time, given a very sizeable chunk of the WV budget had suddenly disappeared. It turned out that NNN had accepted the rights to host WHF, the slightly stunted sister of WV. Preparations were underway to host the contest in Avranches, and so suddenly the WV department had half the budget they were used to. Much hair-pulling, sweating and panic attacks began. An air of doom lay over the department, but that was most likely from the bitch fight that was still simmering between Josephine and Marjory. They knew they couldn't be left alone for more than two seconds... Anyway, everyone realised they still had to get on with stuff, and so the usual phone ringing, talent scouting (some call it stalking, call it what you will) and general greasing of the pulleys began, as the whole machine was set back into motion. Eventually, a long shortlist was drawn up, a longlist if you will. It was time to wittle them down into the final eight who would compete for a place at WV.

The process itself was long and arduous, not helped by the fact that a venue for the event couldn't be secured. Last contest, they used three different arenas! Clearly, the WV department weren't used to being bossed about by Accounting so much, but there they were. There were all sorts of songs, from the beautiful to the annoying, from the stunning to the wtf, and everything else under the sun; mariache bands, a man playing a jew's harp, a man dressed as a bear playing the accordion... Why did they have an open submission again? However, it seemed when the machinery was being set up some of the undrunk champagne (a novelty after NNN staff parties) was mixed in with the grease as quality control seemed to fail, and Étienne Delacroix's 'Come and Play' made it into the final eight. 'It is just a bit of fun' the NNN chief executive was told. 'The international jury's will kill it, if not the televote. No one knows who he is anyway...' Oh how wrong they were.

Finally. The day had come, and it turned out that the venue to be used was the same that was host WHF in a few weeks time, with the same stage as well; it was a useful but of costcutting whilst also testing the stage, and boringly everything worked - no one even got burnt by a bit of stray pyro! Things didn't quite go to plan, by which I mean Étienne won the jury vote. The Normand public and NNN clearly thought it was some sort of sabotage, but it didn't matter as Jean-Pierre Montour won with 'Streelights', a song that was seen by many as a potential favourite to win WV. Sadly, Montour's life was cut short during a trip to Monaero; he died simply by crossing the border. His family told him not to, and everyone knows about Death by Monaero, but thw fool did it anyway and thus NNN were left wishing thet hadn't sent Étienne Delacroix to Monaero. Luckily, help came in the guise of indie group The Indigo Project, a small group based in Caen who practically no one in the NNN offices or indeed in Normandy and Picardy outside of a small fanbase had heard of. Still, when the NNN Executive listened to the track it was, in his mind, an easy way to let a small group have a moment in the spotlight and to remain in the contest without any sort of expectation for the track. So, the prize was theirs, the ticket to Machievelihe.

So who are The Indigo Project? They are a group, as aforementioned, from Caen, and consist [from to left to right of the image] of Jules Asarne (31), Michel Barnier (33) and Christophe Neuchatel (28) , all close friends who started collaborating musically recently; they all met whilst working for the same company (which can't be named due to impartiality laws that restrict NNN). Their music is highly symbolic and political, with every song, like 'Carry On' having a meaning. Although no doubt you will read your own interpretation of the lyrics, 'Carry On' is about how we are shaped by the media and corporations and are simply expected to find this natural; the song is sung from the perspective of a star on a poster in a girl's bedroom telling her to 'follow the program'. Whilst the message may ruffle a few feathers, will the song make an impression at the contest. Let's find out...

The stage exploded into life as the song began, with the HoD for the nation having finally let the group begin - he had had to, basically, given that the postcard was over and he had no choice - and so the stage was all prepared. A single red spotlight shined on Jules, standing alone on the stage. The spotlight was faint enought to obscure the rest of the stage in a thick blanket of darkness, and yet glimmer slightly off the layer of smoke that glided across the stage, thin and wispy and curling around Jules' legs. The camera focused on Jules' face and the spotlight faded on and off, temporarily plunging Jules into the darkness too. The camera slowly zoomed out, and thanks to some digital trickery random red, blue and green dots and lines, like noice, seemed to sporadically appear, surrounding Jules as he song directly into the camera. He was wearing, so it seemed, a black cloak, that had it not been for the spotlight would too have been hidden and indeed Jules' legs seemed to blend into the darkness, especially as the camera panned out and the lights intensified.

Comfort me with your cold
The blanket of contempt
Make me go ‘til the end
Feed me stories, my friend
And fill me up again

As the random noise played out, more digital work was to be had as it appeared that Jules' face was almost warped and being twisted around as the camera pulled out to the reveal the LED floor under Jules, free of the smoke that had encompassed it before, was a kaleidoscopic image of his own distorted head, a hellish looking sight made to discomfort and yet not repulse, and that was speckled with the same colours as the digital image noise that had now abated.

(Incomprehensible noise)
Carry on

As the piano kicked in the stage instantly burst into life, with a gentle golden glow to the generally white lights. The background showed newspaper cuttings and posters, with a 50s feel to them. As the stage was lit up Jules threw off his cloak to reveal a 50s style blue suit, identical to what the other members of the group now visible on the stage were wearing. Michel was on a platform on the left of the stage, on his grand piano that was also covered in similar posters by a projector offstage. On the right side on a pedestal was Christophe, playing the bass and as the camera past him before returning to Jules standing at the front of the stage, now with an old style microphone which he sang into. The LED floor had a general concert hall type floor, with a poster with Jules' face on it blowing across it and landing near his feet as he sang into the camera which panned around the stage.

So pin me up to your wall
Look upon my faded skin
And leave me to the piercing rays
Show me off to everyone
They may not feel the same way
And one day even you’ll turn away

As the song carried on, the stage remains much the same, but the newspaper headlines that move across the background screen changed, with banal stories like 'Man Saves Cat from Tree' or 'The Truth About Red Wine'. Over time, however, they become more serious, with captions like 'Economic Markets in Freefall' breaking through the positive veneer. One such headline moved across the background screen as Jules sang the first line of this verse, but he moved to cover it with his hand, the camera angle facilitating this, so that it was hidden from view; the headlines changed back to 'normal' due to this. As this verse-section-thingy ended, four backing singers, all women dressed also in 50s style costumes, walked onto the stage and took their positions, two on each side.

Don’t try to think too much
Carry on playing in front of me
It makes me happy
So carry on, so carry on

The camera again focused on Jules, with the 'diamond section' of the background screens behind him having a pastel blue colour like his suit and the others were a cream like colour, acting like walls from which the posters now hung and seem to fall one by one - the newspaper titles had disappeared. This blue almost seemed to darken and become lighter again, growing larger and smaller, pulsating to the beat of the tune as Jules picked up the microphone from the stand and walked across the stage, reaching out to the camera almost as if he was comforting the audience at home.

Another day, another tear
You’ll get over it soon my dear
So turn back to me, if just briefly
And you know that one day you will yearn
To follow me, up on a wall
To be a friend, to be forgotten

The lights became decidely redder, in a direct contrast to the stage, in this section. The camera focuses intensly on Jules and zoomed in close to his face, and he almost took on a sinister feel, staring directly to the audience across the multiverse as if he was telling them what to do. The camera feed itself almost gained a red hue slowly, as everything seemed to build up to breaking point, but with the last line the camera returned to normal and pulled away to show the stage, assembled as before.

And think of all the dreams you could make
And all the stories that you could break
But that’s not for you

The backing singers, having lined up in front of the diamond like section of the background during the previous section, started an almost catwalk like procession, one by one, singing as they went. As the first one approached Jules, he unbuttoned his suit and leaned towards her before she returned to the side of the stage, siting on the pedestal at Michel's feet. The second one got a quick twirl before she went to the other side to Christophe, sitting on his pedestal. The third one handed Jules a cocktail glass, and the last on recieved a cheeky kiss. After this, as the instrumental section went on, the camera panned away and then focused first on Michel as he played the piano, and then on Christophe. Having focused on Christophe the camera glanced past Jules before returning to show where Michel should have been, but now the piano was playing itself (in reality it was just a self-playing one with a reel inside) and Michel was nowhere to be seen.

So carry on
Don’t pretend
So carry on
Don’t listen
So carry on
Put on the mask
So carry on
And carry on
So carry on, so carry on
So carry on

Yeah!

When the camera returned to show Jules, he was lying on the floor, in a pose that made it look like he was the man in the poster (due to the image on the LED floor of the poster, surrounded by books, magazines etc., holding the microphone above him and looking up to the camera as he sang. As he got to the third line of the verse, he began to 'come alive' and sway with the music whereas before he had been still and in the photo. He then waved his hand above the LED floor and the posters and magazines were replaced by a clock face, with roman numerals of course, that was ticking towards 12 (much faster than real time, obviously); it reached 12 at the end of the verse.

Sharing a place with your magazines
A million faces, just for you and me
Trying to make you who you are now
It’s too late to turn back time
To when things seemed alright
Before the teacup was flooded out

The floor changed once more to show an old syle television screen that surrounded Jules (to go with the rest of the aesthetic, which throughout the verses had been becoming more tired and weary, showing the progression of time), but he stopped moving and once more become part of the scene, and the camera pulled away so he became smaller and more distant.

There’s no point in telling me
I’m just the man who lives in your dreams
And behind a billion screens

As the chrous began the camera turned to show the pedestal where Christophe had been but he had dissapeared, and now the backing singers - having ditched their 50s dresses for more modern, dramatic pure white garb - were arranged in a Rhythm Inside-esque arrangement (imagine that Loic on the floor is one of the backing singers), singing the backing vocals as it is their job to do. The camera cut quickly between them and Jules as he got up and walked slowly backed towards the front of the stage and the microphone stand, swaying to the music as he went. The backing singers broke formation half way through and slowly edged towards Jules, forming a semicircle around him by the end of the chorus.

So carry on
Don’t pretend
So carry on
Don’t listen
So carry on
Put on the mask
So carry on
And carry on
So carry on, so carry on
Carry on

The background, which up until this point had slowly been crumbling away like paint from a wall completely disintigerated, revealing images of cities, stock exchanges and in general the modern world, with dollar signs floating around everywhere. The background singers, equiped with ropes evocative of the wires 'Jules' sung, started walking around him and tieing him in his own set of the wires, with each of them then spreading out to four corners away from him, pulling and tugging on him as the song went on. The floor beneath them almost seemed to become a void into which the imagery from background fell and on which Jules and the singers were perched precariously.

I smile across the electric miles, tangled in the wires and dollar signs (So carry on, so carry on)
So carry on
Put on the mask
So carry on
And carry on
So carry on, so carry on
So carry on

As the feel of the song changed and the new backing vocals began, the singers 'ran' away, and the wires fell around Jules so he could stand up and feel freedom. The stage, which had lost its golden glow to reds and blues, gained it anew, and the skyscrapers and city lights were replaced before the countryside. Michel and Christophe returned to the stage, one now in a red suit and one in a yellow that were loosely fitting and undone, with Michel now playing a normal acoustic guitar and Christophe reunited with his beloved bass. The stage was awash with colour as the band took their original positions once more. However, the fields etc. were slowly replaced by brick walls which are painted over once more and the posters returned

Na na na na na na naaaa
Na na na naaa na na naaa
Na na na na naa

Na na na na na na naaaa
Na na na naaa na na naaa
Na na na na na

As the band sang, the LED floor came to life once more with a kaleidoscopic image containing the three members of the group, money, posters and magazines, a representation of their 'modern world' as it were. The backing singers returned once more, two on each of the pedestals with the other two band members and everything ent back to how it had been pretty much - the cycle had been completed.

Stop trying to live and
Carry on
Don’t pretend
So carry on
Don’t listen
So carry on
Put on the mask
So carry on
And carry on
So carry on
Carry on
So carry on

Or had it? As the cameras did their usual job, panning around and giving different perspectives of the stage, Jules broke free from his position once more, careering around the stage like a drunken driver (well, not so chaotically but you get the idea). The background changed to show photos of a family focusing on a girl whilst she got older, falling down as if dropping from a polaroid and developing, and behind the pictures constantly was the poster of Jules, staring coldly out; there is a moment where the camera shows it as if the real Jules and the poster Jules are staring at one another.

I shed a tear and then remember that is me who made you like this (So carry on, so carry on)
So carry on
Put on the mask
So carry on
And carry on
So carry on
Carry on
So carry on

Jules returned to the centre of the stage as the song began to come to a close, and the lights faded slowly, obscuring more and more of the stage. Jules remains stood at the centre of the stage, a pool of golden light at his feet, as the camera zoomed in, slowing as it approached his face. Eventually, the pool of light at his feet on the LED floor was all that lit him (well, there was also a very faint spotlight but sssssh) as he sung, his face a juxtaposition of kindness and a quiet malignance. Even that light eventually faded as the song ended, plunging the stage into darkness.

Fly my moth, towards the sky (So carry on, so carry on)
The ceiling is the limit, so high
So stop dreaming and just carry on
And so you’re back once more
Stare at me, just stop a moment
Turn off and stare

That was it, it was over. The Indigo Project had given the performance of their life, and even if they didn't do well they had surely gained a new legion of fans across the mutliverse. Without the weight of expectation the group feel relieved, but as they shouted 'Merci' and left the stage, the thought of carrying on the Top 10 record briefly entered their heads...

Elizaveta Loncar | Once Upon A Time

Tune: Giorgia - Quando una Stella Muore
Language: Polkopian/English

Elizaveta Loncar won the most recent edition of the Landa vy Polkopiya, winning the international jury's vote, and coming third in the domestic televote, bringing the total score of 83, two points ahead of the second placed, Disguise. Before the Landa vy Polkopiya, Elizaveta had never really broken through Polkopia's music industry. She had one single which had made it into the Top 100, but that was over 5 years ago, and now her songs and videos hardly ever reach more than 300,000 views online. Her goal, from this song, was to finally break out into the public atmosphere after several years of perseverance, and to convince others that she wouldn't remain a one-hit wonder. Before the night of Worldvision, her song, Once Upon A Time, had over 16 million views online, most of whom were from Polkopia, who fully supported their selection for Worldvision. On the opening night, it was revealed that viewing figures for Worldvision on Polkopian TV were estimated at around 19 million, meaning that nearly a third of the population were watching the contest live at the time of Elizaveta's performance.

The stage of this arena was massive. Elizaveta stood, center stage, wearing a dark blue gown, with her shorter hair styled as normal. To her right, a black grand piano was placed, with her husband playing the piano. Although it was her husband who played, the pair hardly paid any mind to one another. Her husband was dressed in a black suit and dark blue tie. The beginning camera angles were filmed from above, and on every fourth note, a ripple would run through the otherwise dark blue background on the LED floor, with a focal point at where Elizaveta stood. The background screens were colored a very dark blue as well, and showed the faint image of a moonlight reflection toward the upper left of the screen. After the fifth note, the camera showed a zoomed in view of the stage, and continued to zoom in, with some of the front audience members' hands slightly visible, though the lighting was dimmed for this performance, so a light would often be seen where an audience member's hands were. Three spotlights were trained on Elizaveta, one from directly behind, and the others, 45 degrees on either side. By the time Elizaveta sang the first verse, the camera showed her waist, up to just above her head as she sang, looking directly into the camera.

Your memory remains, even though you are long gone
Your voice, it plays inside my head
No I can't forget the good and bad that we shared
Oh how time passes by...

The camera stops zooming in, and instead, tilts backward and rotates to her left while Elizaveta sand the next part. She was no longer focusing on the camera, but she was now looking straight forward, as if she was speaking to somebody in front of her, yet out of the camera's view. Because of the angle, the moonlight projected on the background screen was visible directly behind Elizaveta.

Your face is in the stars
Smiling back down at me.
I don't have to look far
To see you

When she sang the first note of the chorus, the camera switched to an overhead view. Viewers at home would see what now looked like night sky, sparsely dotted with stars, though the pattern remained the same for all of the background LED screens. After the she sang the second line, the camera zoomed in onto her face, like it had done previously, and Elizaveta gave a sweet smile as she sang.

Si eta kam avinpriča
Is this how a fairytale is?

Yash prinč vas ya visida vidrit
My prince will always await me

Nili ni nebe
Up in the sky

Trostat yo prebe
Sending me away

Si eta kam avinpriča
Is this how a fairytale is?

Na ya...?
For me...?

Na ya...?
For me...?

As the piano break occurred, the camera would slowly zoom out, further and further, and the lights have dimmed a bit, emphasizing the loneliness that the artist is trying to convey for the audience, both in the arena, and back home. Once the drum noise kicks in, the lights at the back perimeter brighten, and illuminate the background to some extent. Ripples are shown across the background screen, and a bird is seen flying in the reflection. For this verse, the camera pans in toward Elizaveta, and runs past her, showing her face as it did. Elizaveta hardly seems to notice, as she's adding a touch of anger to her performance now.

Years ago, you told me that you loved me so
I told you the same
Now I'm left here, loving the memory you've left me
And no one to love me back

Now, the camera slowly circles around Elizaveta as she sings the bridge. Hundreds, if not, thousands of lights were seem throughout the audience, as members waved their arms to the tune of this ballad. Still, Elizaveta seems to ignore the camera, and look straight in front of her. She nods throughout the bridge, and closes her eyes for a couple of brief moments, but continues to deliver the performance.

Your face is in the stars
Smiling back down at me.
I don't have to look far
To see you

Elizaveta extends her arms to either side, and from the spot that her hands were at, a cluster of glowing orbs appear on the background screen, showing the illusion that they actually came from her hands. These orbs slowly raise up on the background screen and dot the background reflection that is projected, giving an illusion of a starry night sky, with the ripples still moving across the screen and the moonlight showing up as bright as ever.

Si eta kam avinpriča
Is this how a fairytale is?

Yash prinč vas ya visida vidrit
My prince will always await me

Nili ni nebe
Up in the sky

Trostat yo prebe
Sending me away

Si eta kam avinpriča
Is this how a fairytale is?

Na ya...?
For me...?

Elizaveta takes the microphone from the stand and walks forward, singing. The background pans upward, showing the actual night sky, rather than just the reflection, and the moon, stars, and sky, are all clearly visible, with the ocean on the horizon.

Asha biy grašopami sul svetilunač.
We would run under the moonlight

Na onče prima, asha ovali
For the first time, we were

In lave
In love

As the guitar rift played, the camera circled around her again, but paused as her back was turned, so she was facing the audience. As she hit the high note, she would briefly look to the side, and hold her microphone up to her face, before assuming the same singing position she had for the majority of this performance.

Ooh...

But that was once upon a time!

Ooh...

The camera circled back, and panned outward while Elizaveta sang. It didn't pan out too much, but it was enough so some audience members' hands were barely visible on the screen. By the second line, the stars on the background formed into a heart shape, which beat as she held the last note.

You're up there in the sky
Waving goodbye
Is this how a fairytale ends?
For me?

As soon as she finished singing, the lights wen't completely dark, except for the starry heart that appeared in the background. The lights turned on once the entire song was over, and Elizaveta bowed as her husband stood up to hug her on stage. The two embraced, before leaving the stage, confident in their performance.

Kalosia
Yes I Can! — Ǧiada
performed in English to the tune of Jeune (J'ai Envie) — Louane

Ǧiada Marino is a Kalosian singer. She rose to fame through the 2015 edition of the Kalosian version of The Voice, winning the competition at the age of 18. At 20 years old, she has went on to release an EP and intends to release her debut album later this year.
She was selected to represent Kalosia at the 57th WorldVision Song Contest in Machievelihe, Britonisea, with the song "Yes I Can!". The cheerful, optimistic piece is the second single from her album-to-come.

For the WorldVision final, she is wearing a vibrant blue short dress and appears alone onstage at first. She stands at the back of the stage as the song begins, and the stage has a blue aura (the LED screens and many of the stage lights are navy blue), although the strobe lights in the arena flash to the beat. Then comes Ǧiada's time to sing.

One day I would like to see the world
To be on my own, not a little girl
One day I will fly across the sky
Sailing on my dreams, or just passing by

In this next part, she starts walking to the rhythm and is joined by a male and female backing performer on her side each, so that's a total of 4 performers in addition to Ǧiada.

Let’s go… let’s go!

Ǧiada and the dancers are now standing in a horizontal line (i.e. side by side) at the middle of the stage. The stage lights fade from blue to a more neutral colour, and the LED screens help set the summer atmosphere of the performance by displaying a sky with clouds and a sun, the graphics of which look rather cartoony but fun. The performers start doing dance moves on the spot (in a style similar to the music video of the tune). Ǧiada occasionally does hand movements in sync with them.

One day I’ll show what I’m all about
I’ll express myself, I will let it out
One day I’d like to prove everyone
That compared to them, I am just as strong

I tell… myself:

The performers walk backwards in this next part, in a way that make them seem like they were suddenly pulled around the waist from behind. And then in the second line, they walk to the side of the front of the stage, still on it but away from the gaze of the camera. The stage's blue aura turns a bright and happy orange as the sun in the LED screen extends its rays.

Yes I can!
Yes I can!

Ǧiada walks forwards toward the side of the stage (i.e. towards the performers) as she sings the next part.

I will never stop
‘Till I reach the top
I will never stop
‘Till I reach the top

Ǧiada reaches the performers and stands in front of them (in a formation similar to this). The stage's aura turns blue again, as the sun's rays diminish, returning to the previous graphics. The performers loosely grab Ǧiada's arms. In this next part, they walk to the side, still in that formation.

One day I will not be bound by chains
That just hold me down, driving me insane
One day I will find the strength to say
That the rain is gone, and it’s all okay

They stop walking. In the next part, the text in brackets are sung by the performers. With each line, 2 hands each let go of Ǧiada in sudden movements to the beat of the part sung by the performers.

One day I (Go, go, go)
Will be free (Go, go, go)
Then we’ll go (Go, go, go)
You and me (Go, go, go)

Ǧiada walks to the front of the main catwalk (the one that extends furthest toward the middle of the arena) while her performers make a single-file line behind her and dance while they follow her. The stage's aura turns orange again as the sun's rays extend again in the LED screen.

Yes I can!
Yes I can!

Ǧiada reaches the edge of the catwalk and stands there, while the performers, still in a single-file line, continue to dance.
I will never stop
‘Till I reach the top
I will never stop
‘Till I reach the top

The performers start to go back to the stage and eventually make their way out, still dancing the whole time.

Yes I can!
Yes I can!

With Ǧiada being the only one still on stage (at the front of the catwalk), the stage's aura suddenly becomes blue again and the LED screen appears to be "sucked" into the sun on it, rendering the screen dark.

I will never stop
‘Till I reach the top

The crowd appears to have really enjoyed the song and cheers really loudly for Kalosia. Ǧiada smiles and shouts, "THANK YOU BRITONISEA!" and then leaves the stage for the entry from Titaniumland to be set up. How will the voters react to this summer hit? Will it climb the charts in other countries? We'll just have to see.

Alicia Sumner – "Pieces"
Tune: Demi Lovato - "Lionheart"

Image

Alicia Sumner will make her return to the song contest after participating at the 33rd edition, where she placed 16th. After she returned from Carnise, Ekoz, where it was held, she became a sensational pop star. She soon released her debut album, Diamonds. It topped the Titans album charts and was sold over 45 thousand copies nationwide. Most recently, she released third album, Triumph which sold more than 230 thousand copies nationwide in its first week and now more than two million copies worldwide and received more than three-hundred million streams.

"Pieces", a song written by her and Samuel Hanson. During the press conference, she was asked about the meaning of the song. Alicia told them that it was inspired by her best friend who died in a car accident and she could feel his presence until now. "The song tells how much he means to me, I hope he's proud of me," she said. Her look at the press conference.

To further promoting the song, Alicia went on to perform at various television shows, morning show Good Morning Titans, singing competition The Voice, late night talk show Tonight Show Starring Jarrod Harmann and variety show Saturday Night Live. She also performed it at a Worldvision pre-party in Rowland.

A good representation how she sounds at the Worldvision

Italic - The backing singers sing the part without Alicia
Underline - Alicia sings the part on chorus without the backing singers

During the first verse, Alicia sang while standing before a mirror. Her face showed sad expression. She kept looking at the floor.
0:00 - 0:20
Been a long time before you're gone
We were just so young
It happened when it was dawn
Sadness got through my lungs

After singing the verse, she is walking to the center of the stage. The camera shot from behind. She held the microphone with two hands. Then, the camera shot her from the front.
0:21 - 0:38
Hoping that you're still breathing
You're protecting me from above
My love is long lasting
Flying high like a dove

The camera shot closer and closer to her. When Alicia sang the last line, the camera zoomed out fast.
0:38 - 0:51
You'd never know that
You meant much to me
I'd never think of
Thinking how to live without you

While singing the chorus, Alicia walked on the stage. Every line of the chorus, the camera shot it from different spots. While she was walking, every step emits light on the floor stage screen.
0:51 - 1:26
I'm so lost here, just lead me through your light
Crying out your name, but I'm alright
Broken in pieces
Calm me down, it's been an emotional ride
There's a feeling that I can no more hide
Broken in pieces

The lights were back to dim. The camera shot from above. On the stage screen, there shows cliff, Alicia stands on the edge of the cliff. Then, the camera shot from the front.
1:31 - 1:48

Last night I heard your whisper
You told me to be strong
Promised you one thing
Ain't no more tears to drip

The camera shot close and closer to her face. When it came to the last line, the camera zoomed out fast.
1:49 - 2:03
You'd never know that
You meant much to me
I'd never think of
Thinking how to live without you

While singing the chorus, Alicia walked on the stage. Every line of the chorus, the camera shot it from different spots. While she was walking, every step emits light on the floor stage screen.
2:02 - 2:36
I'm so lost here, just lead me through your light
Crying out your name, but I'm alright
Broken in pieces
Calm me down, it's been an emotional ride
There's a feeling that I can no more hide
Broken in pieces

The feel is more intimate. The camera shot Alicia from the front head to toe with smoke float on stage. The lights pointed on her. Alicia sang with much emotion, while putting her hand up and looked up, sometimes closed her eyes, feeling the song.
2:37 - 3:00
The journey we had gone
Ended with tears, blood, fire, sorrow and emptiness
The stories we had share
Lasted with your body buried under me

3:01 - 3:11
I'm so lost here, just lead me through your light
Crying out your name, but I'm alright

When she sang the "pieces" part, the camera zoomed out fast. Sparks fell down to the stage.
3:11 - 3:18
Broken in pieces

The camera was back shooting her from the front. Alicia walked on stage. Alicia showed her stage presence.
3:18 - 3:36
Calm me down, it's been an emotional ride, a ride
There's a feeling that I can no more hide
Broken in pieces, pieces

3:36 - 3:54
I'm so lost here, just lead me through your light, your light!
Crying out your name, but I'm alright
Broken in pieces

Alicia Sumner ended the song with tears, and she shouted "Thank you Britonisea! Thank you WSC! Love y'all!"

-They eventually pop out fireworks and burst out colors from the Manaimian Flag, as the crowd cheers and gets surprised.-

Hey shout, "Manaime! Manaime! Manaime!"

Jer'mi and Mariella eventually hug each other as the crowd cheers along with many other people.

As the two speak, they say, "Thank you for all the people out there who are blessed by this beautiful Reddish music, as this tells a story about working hard for what is great for your family, so thank you!"

-The crowd eventually throws sprinkles of papier-mâché as they walk to the back, meeting some of the contestants.-

8. Goluta
Win - Sajofi
Tune: Energia - Russkaja
you can note this is a version i have personally uploaded to cut off a whoooole bunch of nonsense that goes with the original version on youtube

Goluta sends in Sajofi, a polka band, formed by 7 friends:

Dunen Rubell - Vocals
Mujkann Vjox - Guitar, Backing Vocals
Zontir Aspaj - Bass Guitar
Russkej Manntjaj - Keyboard
Eliss Elidix - Drums
Lajaj Balxtann - Trumpet
Wantja fBlanef - Violin

Their song "Win" is about... winning WorldVision, and features a strange way to view the Golutian nation - through its power of music.
---

NOTE: Translation of Golutian lines in [square brackets] behind the actual lines.

A single spot flares up, and reveals Dunen, wearing a Golutian flag as a cape, and a red suit underneath. He's also wearing a top hat, but instead of normal colors, it's actually white/blue, as the Golutian flag he is wearing. He's standing in the exact middle of the stage, facing directly towards the public.

O, Gluta viveddaj [Oh, Goluta welcomes you.]

Now the rest of the band is also revealed by the lights, they are standing in a V-formation, with Dunen at the front, flanked by Mujkann and Lajaj on his sides, on their turn flanked by Zontir and Wantja, who are flanked by Eliss and Russkej. Here's an image to visualize it for you. Each of them is also facing the public directly, as the camera pans from up high to a position where it lets Dunan stare straight into the camera, which he does.

We're Golutians in Britonisea,
Our instruments ready and our beards look great

After that last line, Dunan strokes his beard.
Our Sajofi beats will make you scream
Everybody voting for entry eight!

Dunan raises eight fingers into the air, a move that most spectators probably didn't pick up on. He throws off his hat, and just before his next line, he looks to the left, shaking his shoulders, staring straight into another camera, as does the entire rest of the band. For the next bit, each line is connected to another participant of this edition of WorldVision - as their lines is sung, the flag of the corresponding country is displayed on the screen behind them. While the band members keep shaking their shoulders for the entire verse, they switch orientation each line, denoted in italics. OOC: Ignore the ''ooh yeah"s in the original song here
Ixmettu vokodd [Izmedu votes] Band looks to the left
Kallosja rasskuso [Kalosia will call] Band looks to the right
Norzjani ass ten do [Normandy gives points] Band looks to the left
Uskiribakkonntaja sommass rassk nammusos [Euskirribakondarra will pick up their phones] Band looks straight ahead

The Euskirri flag fades to an image of a field under a clouded sky, where, during the next bit, a rather large silhouette of a bird will walk in. (HOLY SHIT, THAT RESEMBLES THE GOLUTIAN FLAG). The formerly stiff band now loosens up, and actually moves a little more. Dunen moves his hands, for example.

Now we're going to change all your minds
Goluta, makes the tunes and we're right
No talking now
Just music sounds

Chorus time! During the chorus, there's clearly two parts to each line. During the first, Dunan holds his fists clenched up above his head, singing, almost screaming the lyrics. Then, Dunan dances, by moving his fists, still up in the air, back and forth (parallel to another), as well as the natural motion that comes with doing this. He isn't the slimmest man, so this generates a funny look, but he also looks entirely calm during this, only to get into full energetic screaming mode for the next salvo of words. The screens show a golden "WorldVision-cup" spinning about on a pink/purple background.

Win WorldVision!
Win WorldVision!
Win WorldVision!
Win WorldVision!
Ooooh yeah

The screens now fade into a Golutian flag again, but the bird is missing. Dunan doesn't seem to mind an continues.

All over the world they speak of the white and the blue

He points at the screen behind him, to demonstrate "the white and the blue" resembles the Golutian flag.
Fear Miss Garatti if she's gonna come for you

Miss Vannjaj Garatti is official name of the bird on the flag, named after Queen Vannjaj, Mater Matriae, and the river Garatti, flowing through Goluta. Speak of the bird, here she is now, walking into the flag with a key in its beak to freeze in place riiiight on the spot you'd expect her to be.
Know Golutian words with the eets and jalatt

Golutian words are kind of strange, mostly because of the strange usage of the letters ixj and jalatt (x and j). The x is pronounced "ts", which is why I wrote it "eets", and the j is often not pronounced, especially when at the end of a word.
Tell them Muj tell them Lajaj show them just what we got

Muj(kann) and Lajaj, who were standing just behind Dunen's sides, move forward with 3 quick steps towards two microphones positioned there, and play a riff on their guitar and trumpet respectively. They also provide a "ooh yeah" for the next Golutian part, which is generally similar to the last country-verse.
Adapp sinnsuso, ooh yeah [Adab will know it, ooh yeah] Band looks to the right
Jett Ekoxes pusan, ooh yeah [And we'll have Ekoz, ooh yeah] Band looks to the left
Por njall Merxeddine, ooh yeah [Mercedini is for us, ooh yeah] Band looks to the right
Monnajoglixurrej Plenndannkilenn njall vidu doss [Monaeroglisseurest Pleindanguilles gives us twelve] Band looks straight ahead

The Monaero flag fades, and this time, Sajofi reads on the big screen.

Now we're going to change all your minds
Sajofi, brings the beats and they're fine
No talking now
Just music sounds

And the golden cup of WorldVision returns, as does Dunen's silly dance.

Win WorldVision!
Win WorldVision!
Win WorldVision!
Win WorldVisiooooon!

After this chorus, a small interlude plays, during which Dunen does an even sillier dance. One could best describe it as the hoppy dance from Rasputin by Boney M, except when done by a mildly overweight man with a pronounced beard, who seems to be struggling to stand on one leg in the first place. Despite him clearly struggling, he was enthusiastic, as were his band mates Muj and Lajaj, who encouraged him over the mic.

Hey! Hey! Hey!
etc.

Now, the "SAJOFI" text is back on the screens, and the band members, with the exception of Eliss, is jumping.

Let's put down a couple of rules:
No talking now
Just music sounds!

For the last time the chorus plays, and now the screens show the Golutian flag, and Dunen, also jumps during his dance.
Win WorldVision!
Win WorldVision!
Win WorldVision!
Vote Goluta!

For a split second, during the last line, the background switches to the Kwadai flag. All band members sing/scream
Kwaddajj nam ges rask! [Kwadai pick up a phone!]
Uh!

The Kwadai flag disappears and reveal the final screen, which lingers for a few seconds as the cameras zoom into it: the Golutian flag, with Ms. Garatti holding not a key, but a microphone.

10. Togonistan
Tremendous - ''My Life''

Tune: Coolio - ''Gangsta's Paradise''

Image

Tremendous caused huge discussion in Togonistan after he won their National Final with ''My Life'', a song with really controversial lyrics talking about his life and social problems at his home town. In fact, there were rumors that TNTV might not even let him compete in WorldVision due to his lyrics including lines that could potentially make Togonistan look bad in front of the international audience. However, here he is today, performing his song.

About the artist:
So, who exactly is Tremendous? Well, Tremendous (real name Carl Taneti) is a 30 year old rap musician born in Ramona, a city located in northern Togonistan. He was raised in a poor family with his parents being factory workers. At the age of 13, his father died due to accident happening at the local factory. Life was tough for Tremendous and his mother, which made him quit school at the age of 16 and go to work in a local warehouse.

In warehouse he met Elloco Buda, a local underground rapper who was 18 at the time. Buda quickly became a mentor for Tremendous who got really interested in rap music. At the age of 17, Tremendous participated in his first rap battle which he won. He quickly started to gain popularity due to his raw, strong rhymes he was spitting. While he was not the best lyricist at the time, he was known as being a guy who is not afraid to talk about things that were considered taboo at the time.

When Tremendous was 18 years old, he met Mona Sefugi, a now popular singer and TV host who at the time was a simple suburban girl. Two young people quickly fell in love and moved to live together. A year later they got married and were expecting a baby to be born soon.

In 23. July 2005, their first child, a son, was born. Although they were young and ruthless, it was their devotion to each other that kept a young couple together. Due to hard times, Tremendous, Mona and their son lived at his mother's house. Tremendous left his rap career behind for a little while to devote more to his family issues.

It was until one morning in the summer of 2007 when MC Jen, Tremendous's old friend from his school days knocked on his door. Jen was about to start a new rap group and wanted him to join. Tremendous agreed and with the time being right due to the fact that Togonistan was going through political reformations and music talking about social problems was popular at the time, they managed to be successful and sign a contract with record label.

MC Jen and Tremendous kept making music until the end of 2010, which was when they had enough and went their separate ways. Despite their musical success, Tremendous couldn't say that he was really rich. In fact, his mother was diagnosed with heart cancer which meant that most of their money went to pay for the cure.

Sadly, Tremendous's mom died in 24th January, 2011.

Tremendous kept on living his normal life and had a daughter with Mona. She was born in 11th February, 2015 and named Mona, just like her mother. Despite it being the time when the overall quality of life in the nation was on the rise, things seemed to remain pretty much the same in northern parts of the country with constant gang wars in Ramona happening. Despite moving to Tushlark at the end of 2015, all this was what inspired Tremendous in 2017 to write ''My Life'', a song speaking about social issues in his home town.

When asked about origins of the song during interview, Tremendous said: ''This is happening there every day. On the TV, i see everyone speaking about the quality of life in our nation being good, and that is true if you live close to the capital. However, when you go to north, it is a whole new world. There are fools hustlin' on the streets with guns in their hands. I also think our drug policy needs some serious revising. I have no beef with our government, honestly I think they have done some things to make life better, but they do not see the big picture. We have our youth out there destroying their own as well as other people's lives.''

Performance

Tremendous is standing on the stage, dressed in dark blue suit. He is also wearing a trilby hat. Stage theme is dark, with LED screens at the back showing a night's sky with sparkling stars. At the right side of the stage there are 4 men dressed like Tremendous, except without a hat. They are his backing vocalists. As the music starts playing, Tremendous is looking at the ground, one hand holding the edge of his hat while other hand is placed in his pocket. Then he grabs the mic, looks at the audience and starts singing:

As I walk through the streets of the southern Ramona,
I take a look at behind and think of my little Mona
Do I really have to go my own way now,
then I realize that my mind's been blown
'Cause I ain't never wanted things to go this way now
Didn't expect it either when i gave you my vow,
I better watch how I'm talking and where I'm walking
Or we might end up living on sidewalk
I really hate to see how my things now go
As I work, I know I have to make a change, now
When I'm walking home in the middle of the night
Keep it low, making sure I won't get in a street fight

As the chorus starts, his backing vocalists start singing while Tremendous stands just like he did at the start of the song. He stays in this stance, while camera keeps rotating around him and his backing vocalists.

Been spending most my time, thinking if this has to be my life
Been spending most my time, thinking if this has to be my life
Keep spending most my time, thinking if this has to be my life
Keep spending most my time, thinking if this has to be my life

When it is time for him to sing again, Tremendous grabs his microphone with one hand and starts singing, using his other hand to do some gestures once in a while. His backing vocalists do some chill, hardly noticeable dance moves to the rhythm of the song.

Look at the situation we got us facin'
We can't live in safety, we are cursed by the streets
Whole hood is living in constant fear
Wannabe gangsters bangin' and chasing dreams
I'm trying to take care of my family
But they hustlin everywhere, from Temple to Hamley
They are strapped up gangsta set trippin' bangers
And their homies are mean so don't arouse their anger, fool
Into the future i got to look to,
I have a little son, what should I do?
He's only 11 now, but will he live to see 12
Could end up clinging to a weapon helve

Tremendous is just standing and staring into emptyness, like he would be thinking about something very deeply. His backing Vocalists sing the chorus while camera does 360 degree rotation around performers, ending with a close-up to Tremendous's face.

Tell me why it is so hard to see
That the guns and drugs take us nowhere

Been spending most my time, thinking if this has to be my life
Been spending most my time, thinking if this has to be my life
Keep spending most my time, thinking if this has to be my life
Keep spending most my time, thinking if this has to be my life

Tremendous now removes microphone from it's stand and starts singing final verse of his song. He is moving around the stage step by step, slightly moving his body to the rhythm of the music.

Trying and failing, failing and trying
All the time at night, dreaming i'm flying
President in office, but he ain't even looking
What's going on in the hood, I guess he don't know what's ticking
We start our morning everyday with some drive-by
Climb out of the hood, we just got to try
I guess we can't, I guess we won't
I guess we failed, and now in here forever we are stuck, fool

Then suddenly, whole stage turns golden. It seems like night had just become a bright daylight. Sparkling rain starts falling down behind Tremendous as he and his backing vocalists sing together:

Been spending most my time, thinking if this has to be my life
Been spending most my time, thinking if this has to be my life
Keep spending most my time, thinking if this has to be my life
Keep spending most my time, thinking if this has to be my life

Tell me why it is so hard to see
That the guns and drugs take us nowhere
Tell me why it is so hard to see
That the guns and drugs take us nowhere

When the song ends, audience applauds and cheers as Tremendous and his backing vocalists do a simple, nice and classy bow. ''Thank you everyone, thank you,'' Tremendous says before leaving the stage.

How the postcards came to be...

Postby Britonisea » Wed Jun 28, 2017 4:56 am

*Audience applauds as Togonistan finishes their song and the camera slowly turns to Hannah Baker, the host. The graphic above was shown before it disappeared and she began to speak.

Hannah Baker: Thank-you to Togonistan for that tremendous performance! *Audience cheers* So, ten songs have performed and therefore this means you have seen ten postcards. You might be wondering, "How these postcards were shot?" or even, "Who came up with the idea?" Well, I can tell you that we have someone who knows all of the answers to your question. Joining me on the stage right now is Fabio McAlpine, the Head of the Britonish Delegation and also Yuri Wilkinson, who is the main man to speak to regarding the postcards! Welcome you two!

Both: Hello, thank-you!

Hannah Baker: So, Yuri, tell me about how the postcards came to be. I think that they are quite spectacular, and I am pretty sure that the audience agrees with me! *Large applause from audience, who obviously agrees* So, yeah, tell us!

Yuri Wilkinson: Sure. Well, I have been working the Britonish Delegation quite a lot recently, and we tried to execute an idea with the 56th WorldVision Bid, but this bid was unsuccessful in the end, and instead we went to Besini, who put on a great show. However, we tried again and we became successful. I wanted each postcard to be unique. In previous contests, you know, the postcards usually follow a base, Song, Artist, Writers/Composers etc. However, we felt that we wanted to include more of a personal touch in our postcards. If you rewind the clock and go to WorldVision 41, when we first hosted, that was personal to each nation because we did an artistic design per nation, and they even got their own little slogan for each nation, which each delegation liked and worked with. When we hosted in WorldVision 51, each nation got their own quote, so we thought we should work with the pattern we have as hosts, and pick out a line we thought stood out.

Hannah Baker: And Fabio, tell me about the actual shots?

Fabio McAlpine: Well, we decided to pick towns in Machievelihe which we thought we go well with the contest, and the nations within it. We totally enjoyed looking around, we got big camera companies and specialists to take ultra-high definition videos to feature in today's contest, and we are very proud of this.

Hannah Baker: Thank-you very much. We now cross over to the 11th country to perform!

11. Adab
"I've Loved You"
Writer: Kinan al-Salaman
Performer: Kinan al-Salaman

Image
Al-Salaman (right) with some of his friends (including lawyer Malik Meganos, far left) following the conclusion of his trial

Tune: Duran Duran - Come Undone
Language: English

Background
After the events of WorldVision 56, in which Kinan al-Salaman provided Adab with one of the greatest televised spectacles in its history - that is, the murder of a prince of imperial blood - the singer and his backing band were immediately put under arrest by the Adab Army even before the onstage chaos had resolved and flown home to face justice for their deed. Al-Salaman, under advice of family and friends, hired celebrity lawyer Malik Meganos to represent the five of them. Meganos spent less time during the trial defending al-Salaman and his band than he did blasting the "corrupt" Adabian legal system and justifying the "rightful killing" of the prince, who Meganos claimed had forsaken the right to live when he crashed onto that car on the highway. Al-Salaman continued to enjoy massive public support throughout the duration of the trial; most Adabians were disgusted with what they saw as the Imperial Palace's failure to properly punish the prince for his crime and their efforts to protect him from prosecution. Al-Salaman, on the other hand, was a victim of the law who was simply trying to do the right thing as a good and responsible citizen of Adab.

Rumors flew around stating that Emperor Tizqar III himself would either appear in court to testify on behalf of the prosecution - an unprecedented occurrence in the history of the country - or put an end to the trial altogether and use his royal prerogative to sentence al-Salaman to death. In the end, the Emperor did not appear in court, and he did not condemn al-Salaman to death either. Although some employees of the Imperial Palace have since claimed that the Emperor did intend to punish al-Salaman, he was aware that doing so would cause public backlash on such a massive scale that it could possibly bring down the monarchy. The Emperor, on the advice of Chancellor Ebmarah, ended the trial and ordered al-Salaman acquitted, although the singer was required to pay a hefty fine to the Imperial Treasury, issue a formal, written apology to the Imperial House of Ashurbanipal, and do penance by sitting naked from head to waist in front of the gates of the Imperial Palace for a whole afternoon. Al-Salaman grudgingly agreed to do all of them, if only to ensure his and his band's freedom.

Having fulfilled all of the Emperor's demands, al-Salaman rushed back to the studio to work on his next album. Al-Salaman had indicated to the media before that his new album would offer "something different, rather different compared to anything that [he] has ever done before." He also stated that his next WorldVision song, which would be taken from this album, would not necessarily be uptempo or a crowd-pleaser, feeling that, at this point in his career, he had earned the right to experiment on the stage and do whatever he thought to be fulfilling.

The performance
As had become WorldVision tradition by now, the Adabian contingent infiltrated the crowd in the ground patio just in time for al-Salaman to come on the stage, the singer's most faithful and hardcore fans cheering for the hero who, not very long ago, seemed to have finally met his end. Yet now here he was, once again representing the country that adored him and nearly sent him to the firing squad. As al-Salaman prepared for his performance backstage and took a final sip of water, the sound system blared the words, almost dark and ominous of the Inquisitor after he commits Jesus to prison in The Brothers Karamazov: "Why hast Thou come now to hinder us? For Thou hast come to hinder us, and Thou knowest that... We are working not with Thee but with him [Satan]... We took from him what Thou didst reject with scorn, that last gift he offered Thee, showing Thee all the kingdoms of the earth. We took from him Rome and the sword of Caesar, and proclaimed ourselves sole rulers of the earth... We shall triumph and shall be Caesars, and then we shall plan the universal happiness of man."

For a moment there, the stadium began to shine in gloriously multicolored lights, perhaps akin to a psychedelic experience, only to then gradually dissolve into a mass of black, enveloping the whole stadium but for a white light pointing down at the empty stage. The stage remained empty. This minute it was empty, the next minute empty, and the minute after that empty. As the audience began to wonder if they had been subjected to a blackout or if the expected performer would appear at all, the stage began to emerge from the darkness, its outlines showing themselves in radiant blue against a backdrop of plain black. The audience, particularly the Adabians present, began to mutter among themselves as they thought they heard music emanating from the darkness, then clapped and cheered as the guitar began playing, even as the guitarist himself remained almost completely invisible. Then came the drums from far behind, then the keyboards and the synth bass.

The white light gradually disappeared, displaced by the brilliant red stemming from the LED wall in the background which finally allowed the audience to see the band. The stage floor was bathed in a dozen bright colors. Almost lost in the wall was the shape of a man, growing larger as he approached the stage until everyone recognized him as the man. It was, of course, Kinan al-Salaman, dressed in his best tuxedo.

Al-Salaman:
My immortal beloved, I've come to pay my due
I swear this will be quick
Love, I've done my share now
But the game that we played was just never for me

Al-Salaman retreated from the microphone a bit, pointing somewhat to his behind at a hitherto unseen all-female choir, dressed sombrely in black.

Choir:
I made my moves just for your sake, love, it's not enough
I fell apart but you won't accept me, shame, I've come this far

"The Adab City University All-Female Choir, ladies and gentlemen," al-Salaman announced to the audience, no doubt thanking the choir for their satisfying vocal contributions. The audience responded, politely if not excitedly, with cheers and shouts.

Al-Salaman:
Oh, it's not I've stopped loving you now
But it'll take just a little pride
To be strong just now

Just take my hand now
And sing like you used to back then
Don't go, I know you can't go from me now
We'll cry into the night

What will it take, just to make you see
That I've always loved you?
What will I do, just to make you sure
That I'm always here?

Al-Salaman abandoned center stage for a while, walking behind where someone from his team rushed from backstage and handed him a glass of water. On his way back to the microphone, he made sure to nod and smile at the choir and his band.

Al-Salaman:
Love cheated me, the fool
The wretched witch queen just using her old tricks
Yes, sing like we did in the day
Or is it a helpless cry I heard here in the front?

Choir:
I made my moves just for your sake, love, it's not enough
I fell apart but you won't accept me, shame, I've come this far

Al-Salaman:
Smile, it's almost over
You've played all your cards
Shame it's wasted

Walk with me, through this way
And hear the forest sing to the stars
My darling, I've loved you but it's over
Can't make a second mistake

What will it take, just to make you see
That I've always loved you?
What will I do, just to make you sure
That I'm always here?

At this point, al-Salaman and the choir sang together, the choir providing a suitable, almost transcendent accompaniment to the lead singer that had more than some in the audience mesmerized, and a few shedding some tears at the majesty of it.

(I made my moves just for your sake, love)
What will it take, just to make you see
That I've always loved you?
(I made my moves just for your sake, love)
What will I do, just to make you see
(I made my moves just for your sake, love)
Just to make you see
That I've always loved you?

The performance gradually came to a finish, one free of incidents and with plenty to provide in the way of entertainment and enjoyment. Al-Salaman's singing receded into the distance, but the choir continued for a while, accompanied by the band as their voices and instruments faded until there was nothing more to be heard. Certainly satisfied with their performance, al-Salaman gathered the band and the choir at the front of the stage for one final bow to the audience. They then went backstage to the sounds of unending claps, cheers, and shouts, especially from the enthusiastic Adabians in the crowd.

Sofia and Chloe Bone - Red Skull in The Sky! (in the skeleton Tibia language which is why the translation is broken)

The spotlight follows two young Skeleton sisters as they walk onto the stage both wearing traditional Tibiastan (An island within the Union) dresses with an orchestra behind them. They both look nervous as the older looking one starts to sing.

The skull in the sky is red
In our Ribs is the great Mr.Rattlebones
He Spooks us to liberation
The Skeletons stand up to the Fascists
Yiyayiziyou a, yaeryaziyoua
The Skeletons stand up to the Capitalists

The Skull in the sky is red
In our Ribs is the Great Mr.Rattlebones
He leads us to Rattle forward
The Realm is now red yeah
Yiyayiziyou a, yaeryaziyoua
The Realm is now red

The Younger one starts to sing after an instrumental

The red skull in our ribs
Rattles red to the borders of all skeleton nations
One hundred thousand miles shrieking loud and clear
Bone tread on the flying red flag in highlands
One thousand rivers.... run into the black sea
Ten thousand skull flowers open towards the skull in the Sky
Skeleton people indulge in shrieking
Our ribs' red
Oh.... Mr.Rattlebones
We love you indefinitely
Your teachings are kept in our Ribs
Skeleton people wish you
Longevity with no boundaries, longevity of Centuries with no boundaries

The older one begins to sing again after another instrumental

The skull in the sky is red
In our Ribs is the great Mr.Rattlebones
He Spooks us to liberation
The Skeletons stand up to the Fascists
Yiyayiziyou a, yaeryaziyoua
The Skeletons stand up to the Capitalists

The Skull in the sky is red

Scars

Asuka Virtanen

After 27 editions, Asuka Virtanen is back on the WorldVision stage, having kept a close relationship with TÖBUK over the years. With the broadcaster celebrating 30 editions since its debut, Asuka was invited back to perform her latest piece, "Scars", which is Asuka's way of telling her audience that no one has to endure hatred and hurt alone, that even wounds and pain can heal and create something better and more beautiful. She came to this song through both her own experience and those shared to her by her own fans, along with what she witnessed herself in real life and on the crystallomatrix, which spurred her to create an anthem to help victims of both verbal and physical abuse heal, move on, and grow from their past. Of course, in the intervening years, Asuka, having come out as heterosexual after her WV30 performance, began married life with her husband Armin Gensch and had a daughter Aava, followed by another daughter, Tabea. As of WV57 Aava is 13 years old and Tabea is 3- Asuka has hinted at one of the two featuring in the performance as a symbol of healing across generations, of growth over years.
Hot on the heels of Armor and Kyllikki's winning "Reality", can Asuka live up to her immediate predecessors? And can she upstage her own WV30 4th-placing performance?

The dark stage glimmers blue for a second, then the lights fade on. Asuka is kneeling on a projecting platform in a simple but beautiful, full white dress. She begins to rise, but as she does so, her dress is revealed to have been attached to five wires held on by people clad in full black along the edges of the platform at audience level below her, tearing large strips out of her dress that reveal blood-red fabric beneath as she rises. The background screens show an animation of rain falling, with a blue-gray, gloomy color scheme overall
Hateful words, pierce like knives, into tender minds
Translations

Launching stones, bullets, bombs, into you and I
Broken bones, shattered dreams, all these cracks so fine
But we're alive

With the last line, the animated rain stops and the stage begins to warm and brighten. Asuka steps forward toward the audience, passionately delivering her words to the audience
We can be the healing light
You don't have to cry in silent darkness

Golden lights sweep out from the stage, as an animation of a golden phoenix, burning with light, bursts upward on the background screen and spreads its wings. The lights in the tunnel-like arch of the stage continually sweep out, and Asuka cries out with passion and determination
Voimme nousta tuhkasta
We can rise from the ashes

Yopa vahvempi
Even stronger

The phoenix animation takes takes flight, with an ashen charred landscape just barely visible in the background. Asuka reaches up, directing her attention to the ceiling and beyond, into the heavens, with cameras high above the audience panning and capturing the moment
Voimme lentáá edellá
We can fly above

Menneisyytemme
Our past

She retreats her arms and attention back in, closing her eyes and looking downward for the next line, and of course takes a deep breath after it before moving on
Vetákáá syváán henkeá
Just take a deep breath

And let's mend our painful scars

She sings the last line more calmly, looking into the audience, but still visibly riding that wave of emotion
Ohh, ohh...

Without missing a beat she sings the "Ohh"s, and tones her voice down for the next verse, looking and singing toward the audience in a personal, one-on-one, manner. The stage lights also turn down, with the background screen being one of a new dawn and the lighting reflecting that, with brilliant golds and pinks and indigoes. The spotlights on Asuka waver, like sunlight streaming through clouds or through rippling water
Take my hand, hold on tight, let me help you through
You're beautiful, let these wounds shape a better you
Feel the light warm your skin, soothing every bruise
And rise anew

The stage lights intensify as the animated sun rises, which is then revealed to be the phoenix from before, bursting with light and flame. Asuka drops to her knees, singing with all her energy
Let the spirit in your veins
Let your passion pulse with raging fire

Asuka rises back up as her young daughter Aava comes in through the stage archway, which is lighting up with bands of gold light radiating from the back of the stage. Asuka still faces the audience as she sings the chorus passionately, as her daughter heads toward her
Voimme nousta tuhkasta
We can rise from the ashes

Yopa vahvempi
Even stronger

Voimme lentáá edellá
We can fly above

Menneisyytemme
Our past

Vetákáá syváán henkeá
Just take a deep breath

And let's mend our painful scars

The intense lighting and animations fade somewhat as Aava makes it to Asuka's side, and the two examine the "scars" on each other's dresses
Some scars are old and some are bleeding
It's time to care for them, and grow

With the last line, Asuka turns to the audience, and with the next two lines, she hugs her daughter
Kyllá, miná tiedán sen
Yes, I know that

Ettá se on vaikea
It's hard

The two hold hands and whirl together as the lighting intensifies, washing the stage in brilliant gold for a second, with sparks raining down from behind, before reverting to the sweeping lights of the earlier choruses. The background animation shows the phoenix, now a point of light, shooting up into the atmosphere and exploding to the stars. Back on the projecting platform, Asuka and Aava's dresses dresses turn to pure white, with the red fabric apparently fading away into white.
The torn fabric is still torn, but the dresses are now back to being fully white again, with the shadows caused by the torn fabric providing visual contrast to the otherwise simple and smooth dresses

Voimme nousta tuhkasta
We can rise from the ashes

Yopa vahvempi
Even stronger

Voimme lentáá edellá
We can fly above

Menneisyytemme
Our past

Vetákáá syváán henkeá
Just take a deep breath

And let's mend our painful scars, ohh, ohh
We can mend our painful scars, ohh, ohh

As the chorus ends, Asuka and Aava are standing side by side, hand in hand, and confident at the front edge of the stage. Asuka continues belting out the title line,
throwing all she can into the next one, with Aava looking up at her, amazed

So let's mend our painful scars...

The lights die down to just a single spotlight on the two, with Asuka turning to Aava and kneeling down to face her
And let's mend our painful scars

The two embrace, and the light fades to darkness

The lights return to normal, as Asuka and Aava shout, "Kiitos Machievelihe!" with Aava stumbling a bit on the city name, having said something like "Makkiaveli" in the midst of her excitement. They then bow and exit the stage.

Filius Deorum - "Pandora's Box"
Tune: Evanescence - "Bring Me To Life".

Image

Back at the WorldVision Song Contest again, Filius Deorum was the key to the big Mister Xian push to finally - finally - win the WorldVision Song Contest. Pandora's box, stylised exactly as in the cover art, stood dead centre in the stage, about 12 feet tall. One of the corners directly faced the audience. Filius, dressed in a black suit with a white shirt and no tie, stood behind the box. There was also a backing singer standing at the very back of the stage, so much so he couldn't be seen. The lights were very low. The only stage lights were from the front, and aside from that there was no lights at all aside from the light showing from Pandora's box.

As the music started, a woman wearing long sikly materials wafted her arms around whilst a wind machine was blowing against her. Her cloth, which was almost like a paisley pattern, yellow, with brown lines and squiggles on it, flowed beautifully in the machine. As she wafted, Filius, unseen to the audience, started his singing.

Love and hate aren't the same thing now that you're gone
Crashing right down into my soul
And you're dragging up the past

The lights began to strobe and the facade of the silky wafty woman was over. As the lights strobed with the rock beat, she collapsed to the floor and crawled off the stage. Filius emerged from behind the box and during the next three lines slowly moved forwards, taking her place at the front of the stage.

Just let go
The past is the past, just move on
Unleashing pain on the world with no remorse just like

The box started to open, splitting open from the corner that was at the front of the stage. Simultaneously, Filius unbuttoned his jacket and outstretched his arms, and belted his lines into the wind machine in his best falsetto voice. The stage resembled something like thunder, with dry ice now swirling around Pandora's box and lighting almost like lightning.

(Pandora) Pandora's box
(Pandora) Pandora's box
(Secrets) Secrets from the past are haunting me again
(Pandora) Pandora's box
(Pandora) Pandora's box
(Secrets) Leave them in the past where they belong

Whilst the lights stopped flashing, there was now some light coming from above, but not a lot. For the viewers, the tracking shot featured a cameraman entering from stage left, pointed out towards the audience, and tracked Filius as the latter turned around, slowly walked and sang to the box; he ran his right hand down the right hand side of one of the sides of the box.

Now that you've unleashed terror on me
The box is open
Stay there and watch my world fall around
It's too late now

The cameraman retreated from a safe distance as more dry ice, more "lightning" from the lights, and Filius returned to the front of the stage. This time, more dry ice came from inside of Pandora's box, as if it were spewing its secrets into the audience.

(Pandora) Pandora's box
(Pandora) Pandora's box
(Secrets) Secrets from the past are haunting me again
(Pandora) Pandora's box
(Pandora) Pandora's box
(Secrets) Leave them in the past where they belong

The wafting woman entered from stage right and Filius caught her eye. Filius made a head movement quizzically, which she copied, and the two copied each other during the next phase of the song. With the woman copying his every move, the question posed is to whether it was Filius - or the woman - who opened Pandora's box and spewed the contents, the secrets of the past that must never be told, unto the world?

Secrets of the past
(It's just evil and hate, killed by everyone else)
Secrets of the past

Filius pointed towards the box - another action copied by the woman - and sang directly to her. What were these secrets? Filius' secrets are dark. Had anyone ever wondered where he came from? Who he is? Nobody knows who Filius Deorum is. Except the woman. She released the contents of the box out of malice. She will tell them of his past. He comes amongst MRX Television in hours of need to put things right - except, being Filius Deorum, he tries and fails often despite his best intentions.

Hell has now got a place on earth
Thanks to opening the box
Only you couldn't know what you'd done...

The backing singer, despite being nameless and uncredited, came out from the back of the stage, and engaged in his solo section of the song - not that Filius cared about it. He was more interested in the woman, and what, to his mind, she had done, having bought chaos to Filius's life. It quickly dawned on him that whilst she was off the stage, the box opened. Maybe it wasn't her...? No, no way, who else could it have been...?

(Everything you released is now in our world)
(Everything you ever knew run into the ground)
What have you done, my friend, you know,
Should have left it alone like I told you to
(You didn't think, you didn't know, you have no soul, I'm going to die here, nothing worth living for)
Secrets of the past

An army of women, all wearing the same clothing, marched onto the stage. It was clear they were coming for Filius - the backing singer retreated back to the back of the stage. Dynamic camera shots of the women created a massive sense of scale, that Filius really was in trouble - and of course, it meant that any one of the women could have opened Pandora's box remotely. His livelihood ruined. His life in tatters.

(Pandora) Pandora's box
(Pandora) Pandora's box
(Secrets) Secrets from the past are haunting me again
(Pandora) Pandora's box
(Pandora) Pandora's box
(Secrets) Leave them in the past where they belong

Secrets of the past
(It's just evil and hate, killed by everyone else)
Secrets of the past

Filius collapsed on the stage as the dancers surrounded him. The fading out of the music coincided with the lights returning to normal and Pandora's box no longer spewing dry ice, nor the light. Perhaps it was all just a dream.

15. ELECTRUM DIPLOMATIC OFFICES

Song: "The Sermon of the Church of Gertrude Pullman"
Artist: Gertrude Pullman ft. the Gertrude Pullman Band
Tune: "In-a-gadda-da-vida" by Iron Butterfly (long vers.)

Introduction
Gertrude Pullman, who opened her church in the 55th edition of the WorldVision Song Contest, is continuing the growth and development of her church by instituting a seventeen minute sermon as her submission into this edition of the WorldVision Song Contest. She hopes to reach audiences around the world with her messages of hope, joy and freedom as they submit to her will as her role of Supreme Leader of the Church of Gertrude Pullman. This is most definitely not a ploy for her to exploit her status as a religion in order to have a tax-free income. Where on earth did you get such an absurd idea from?

The Performers
It's Wendy Oldbag from the Ace Attorney series, and I've used this character for 16 editions already so you should know what she looks like by now! If not, check out the Electrum's WV page (linked on Electrum's signature and go through previous EDO entries to see what she looks like or google her)

The Song
Gertrude Pullman comes on stage in a pope style costume: a white tunic, covered in a red cape, a large white hat with gold trims and a staff with an orb on top. She looks positively radiant as her band starts to do the music. The band, named after herself, are really just a bunch of parodists who decided to take advantage of Gertrude's craziness by signing up to do the music. What they didn't know was that she would take them seriously and now they're in too deep to say anything. At least they will get some publicity out of this performance. Also, as they are working for a religious group under Electrumite tax laws, they are also entitled to a large sum of tax-free money as a result for performing for Gertrude.

Gertrude walks on stage with her staff and costume and raises her staff. She pounds the staff down on the floor as soon as the song starts. Once that happens, the stage is bathed in the brightest spotlight on herself, making Gertrude look radiant and heavenly, with some light glittering of the or of her staff. She taps the staff one more time, this time hundreds of doves are released from a cage that is floating above the stage. There is nowhere else for them to go as there are so many, and with the very strong light, they are blinded, and start diving into the audience, causing general chaos everywhere.

0:25
This is the Church of Gertrude, morons,
now sit and hear my sermon,
This is the Church of Gertrude, losers,
I will command your full attention.

Oh, donate cash to me, and sign the deed
Oh, pay the tithe to me, and convert today
Convert today!

Below Gertrude's cape are several holsters filled with small t-shirt cannons, which Gertrude activates. Instead of t-shirt cannons being released into the audience however, it is small envelopes where people can insert money as a tithe to Gertrude. She is promising to the audience that if they send her $100 each, she will personally pray for them to get $1,000. This was her spiritual power as the head of the Church of Gertrude Pullman. Some even had envelopes which were contracts that allowed Gertrude to seize all property that person had, including the deed to their house. The doves are still looking for an exit, but since they can't land on the ground because of the audience being everywhere, they have to rest on the weird square tunnel panels and on the lights, making a huge mess with their feathers and the copious amounts of poop.

Join our followers!

1:18
This is the Church of Gertrude, morons,
now sit and hear my sermon,
This is the Church of Gertrude, losers,
I will command your full attention.

Oh, transcend the haters, avoid a bash
Oh, grow the church with me, and send some cash
Send me some cash!

In the intervening 13 and a half minutes, Gertrude actually leaps off stage into the audience with a collection platter, and snakes through the entirety of the audience, even the commentary booths, the press centre and the orchestra pit. The Gertrude Pullman band, still bedecked in their black and white faces, continue to play, even having some impressive solos. Of course, as a religious leader, she has some security guards to protect her: her old, elderly guard friends with bricks in handbags and tasers return. If Gertrude deemed a person rich enough to pay, but they didn't pay, then they would either get a large whack to the body with the handbag, or a jolt of electricity. This meant a lot of people 'giving' Gertrude the envelopes she gave them, even though they contained useless junk like tissues or dirt, just so Gertrude wouldn't accuse them of not donating. One particular person gets really close to Gertrude, but she pulls out the end of her staff to reveal a sword! That person then soon backed off. Once the collection of the tithes was done, Gertrude leaped on stage for the final verse.

15:27
This is the Church of Gertrude, morons,
now sit and hear my sermon,
This is the Church of Gertrude, losers,
I will command your full attention.

Oh, grow the church with me, and send some cash
Oh, pay the tithe to me, and convert today
Convert today!

Gertrude and her entourage of elderly bodyguards and band leave the stage.

16. ELECTRUM

Song: "Subliminal"
Artist: Pelissa Pisera (returns from WV40)
Tune: "Voodoo Child" by the Rogue Traders

Introduction
In the first ever returning entrant from Electrum, Pelissa Pisera was chosen once again by the Network ENN selection panel to represent Electrum in our twentieth ever participation in the WorldVision Song Contest. She participated in WV40 where she would be the last Electrumite to ever be selected by an international and national jury - the very next edition it was decided that ENN would take all selection matters to be in-house. Instead of the calm song she sent last time, Pelissa comes back with a rocking dance-pop song called Subliminal, for the situation when you can't get someone out of your head, with a small twist at the very end of the song. Pelissa was very young when she performed for the first time, but now she is 36 and is ready to perform in front of a new audience. She came in 12th last time, can she do any better this time?

The Performers
Image

The Song

Pelissa walks on stage through the square tunnel in a very seductive costume: a black short cut dress, red lipstick and leather boots just as the music starts playing. Her band, the Garden Crew, are centre stage, whilst Pelissa walks directly in front of them. The stage is brightly lit in the style of a nightclub, but it is quite muted as there are only a few instruments playing. As soon as the beat drops at 0:11, the muted atmosphere gives way to a frantic rush of psychedelic colour, of yellow and green spirals, to give the illusion of a trance. The camera goes to a close-up shot onto Pelissa as she stares directly into the camera and reaches in, pulling the camera closer.

0:04
Hey there, hey there, hey there!
Here’s a message for you - it's subliminal

It’s all subliminal,
Can’t get me out
The situation’s critical,
I'm all you think about

You can’t forget me baby
My bod’s taking hold
Why won't I leave your consciousness?
Why won’t I escape your mind?

I’ll never tell, I’ll never tell
About your lust, about your lust

Pelissa makes her way to the centre island and shakes and thrusts her body, kicking her feet back and forth (like in 0:54 of the music video). Meanwhile on the LED screens behind her, multiple copies of her appeared, appearing to emulate her exact dance moves. Every few seconds, the shot of Pelissa's body is sliced in for just a second, to give the illusion of a subliminal message. A troupe of male dancers, all wearing suits come on stage and form a triangular formation in front of the band as well, and start copying her moves as well.

0:55
Hey there, hey there, hey there!
Here’s a message for you - it's subliminal
It's a secret, secret
How I flash in your mind, no hope for you now

Hey there, hey there, hey there!
Here’s a message for you - it's subliminal
What’s the idea, idea
It's subliminal - I'm hijacking now

In this slightly subdued section, Pelissa returns to the middle stage where her troupe of male dancers are. She is immediately surrounded by them, as they stand up and down like a wave around her. Then, they start doing this wave formation whilst bowing down to her, as if they are worshipping her. The camera starts from a bird's eye view of her and the troupe as it slowly moves out and spins overhead towards the audience, showing the scale of the troupe: there are about a dozen men in suits on stage! On the LED screens in the meantime, psychedelic visions start popping up with colourful fractals and trippy bright colours appearing to entrance the audience.

1:24
It’s all subliminal,
I’ve hijacked your brain!
Now it's time to re-educate
You're no longer in pain.

It’s all subliminal,
A dark side to you
Can’t get me out of you heart
Now you can't set me free

Into the first repeat of the chorus now, and Pelissa returns to the centre stage to a large explosion of light as soon as the drum crashes at 2:00. There are large canisters on the ends of the stage which constantly spew up flames and light for the final part of the song. The LED screens now change to just like before, a plain white background with many copies of Pelissa. The dance troupe, Pelissa and her copies are perfectly in-sync. The camera moves to a wide shot, showing how everyone is following what the person in the white spotlight is doing on the middle island.

I’ll never tell, I’ll never tell
About your lust, about your lust

2:00
Hey there, hey there, hey there!
Here’s a message for you - it's subliminal
It's a secret, secret
How I flash in your mind, no hope for you now

Hey there, hey there, hey there!
Here’s a message for you - it's subliminal
What’s the idea, idea
It's subliminal - I'm hijacking now

After a while, the LED screens switch again to show the band members playing their instruments in various locations, such as on stage, in a bar, in a forest, before it zooms out to reveal that they were actually inside Pelissa's head all along. This reflects a small shift in the song: in fact it wasn't Pelissa doing the seduction, it was the other way around. Pelissa shakes and hold her head. She comes back to the centre stage where her troupe is, where they surround her and hide her. All of a sudden, she is lifted into the air by the men as she finishes the altered chorus. She stays there until the end of the song.

2:45
I’ll never tell, I’ll never tell...

3:02
Hey there, hey there, hey there!
Here’s a message for you - a message for you
No longer a secret
How you flash in my mind, no hope for me now

Hey there, hey there, hey there!
Can’t get you out
What’s the idea, idea
You're all I think about

Her troupe quickly lift her down, and she and her troupe bow and leave.

The official transcript for the Polkopian commentary for the 57th Worldvision Song Contest

Mikhail: "Dobra večer friends, and we're back with another edition of the contest that we've all come to know and love! Yes, it's Worldvision time again, and our lovely nation is finally back after a brief two year hiatus. The live coverage of Worldvision is brought to you today by myself, Mikhail Resnik, as well as my beautiful co-host, Sabina Plešec. Sabina, what do you think we can expect from the show today?"

Sabina: "Well, first and foremost, it's a pleasure to be back here commentating with you today! Tonight, we have a heap of different nations, all vying to compete for that 1st place. Expect glitter, pyrotechnics, lasers, and anything else that might make your eyes hurt, but for us at Worldvision, it's sort of expected now. Anyway, it's great to be in Machievelihe! He wrote such an interesting piece of literature a few hundred years ago. You know, The Prince wa-"

Mikhail: "Let me stop you right there before you offend someone, somewhere. But it's not that Machiavelli, no, it's the beautiful Britonish city of Machievelihe, and I do say, it's very nice up here. I do recommend some of you to come visit here some day, because it's quite beautiful. But I digress! The show is about to begin and as per tradition, we kick off the show with a performance from the host nation!"

00. Opening Act
Machievelihe Orchestra of Sound - The Parade
Machievelihe Orchestra of Sound ft WorldVision Stars - From Us, With Love

Mikhail: "So, they've dedicated an entire performance in order to ensure the audience that they're safe? Isn't that a bit counter-productive?"

Sabina: "No, it's not the whole performance. But the majority of the performance was extremely boring. Usually the opening act gets people in the mood for a kick-ass event and instead, I'm left wanting to take a nap."

Mikhail: "Not so keen on this act, but at least it's over now and we can move on to the real show. The first to perform tonight is Izmedu!"

01. Izmedu
Tamara K. - Don't Let This Moment Fade

Mikhail: "Oh wow, I'm reading here that this girl is only 17 years old, but she has a remarkable voice!"

Sabina: "I don't know why, but her jacket bothers me. She looks cute, regardless, but if her team had chosen a jacket that didn't look like it belonged on the clearance rack at a department store, I think I would like this entry a lot more."

Mikhail: "That's a fair assessment, but I also give them credit, because this is how you properly start off a show. This instantly got me wanting to get up and dance around the commentator's box, and that's what the first entry should do in Worldvision."

Sabina: "Oh, I don't dislike her or the song at all. In fact, it's very happy and dance-able, I was just kinda distracted by the jacket. No, it's a good song, and I'm sure it'll finish well. Moving on though, we have Lons next!"

02. Lons
TBA - TBA

03. Normandy and Picardy
The Indigo Project - Carry On

Mikhail: "Now, before I judge the song, I just wanted to share my disappointment with NNN. I was on the Polkopian jury, and I, as many of you World-fans know, gave the song, Streetlights 12 points. That song won, but instead they send this? I'm not sure what went on in the press room there, but I wouldn't put it past the head of delegation to have had a massive corruption scandal take place. It's sad, really."

Sabina: "Well, now that you're done with that, let's move on. I wasn't on the jury, so I couldn't care less. But, regarding this song, I have to say; it's a pretty solid entry. I could see myself downloading this song by the end of the night and listening to it on my way to work tomorrow. It's upbeat, catchy, and overall just a pretty good song."

Mikhail: "See... I only really like the piano part. Then the guy starts singing and I immediately lose interest. Then the piano part comes back and I can try and forget the mediocrity that preceded it."

Sabina: "Alright, ladies and gentlemen who are watching us from home, if you liked this song, dial the number on the bottom of your screens and add '03' to the end to vote for The Indigo Project here. It seems like we're next! We have Elizaveta Loncar representing us today, and she's going to be singing, 'Once Upon a Time'."

04. Polkopia
Elizaveta Loncar - Once Upon A Time

Mikhail: "I didn't really care for her performance in the National Final, but here, I feel completely different! I loved this! It was beautiful and emotional, and I really feel like she has a good chance to do well this year."

Sabina: "Yeah, it was really good. It was a much-needed change of pace from the last song, and it might help her? I don't know, but I can only hope for the best for her."

Mikhail: "I also wanted to praise the PNB for adding a bit of Polkopian in the chorus there. I absolutely love hearing other nations' languages here at Worldvision, and I feel that Polkopian sounds especially good in ballads. Overall well-done!"

Sabina: "Unfortunately, we cannot vote for our own country, but we can cheer her on. Good luck Elizaveta! Well, we're moving on to our next performance of the night. This one hails from Kalosia!"

05. Kalosia
Ǧiada - Yes I Can

Mikhail: "For Kalosia, I feel like this song is a bit of a let down. I was expecting a bit... more. That's not to say it's not a decent a decent entry - it is, but I feel as if though the Kalosian broadcaster seemed to fall short this edition."

Sabina: "The song was alright, honestly, but I much preferred the verses to the chorus. The verses caused a whole lot of buildup, only for the chorus to consist of a couple of extended notes. The staging for the chorus was alright, I suppose, but it wasn't anything spectacular. I did like the choreography for it though. I can at least say that."

Mikhail: " I halfway agree with you there. I do agree with you on the verses point you made, and the fact that the chorus was lackluster, but I disagree with you on the staging. I thought that the staging was nothing too memorable. The dancers were alright, sure, but that's it. There was nothing about this entry that would make me want to vote for it at the end of the day. This is one of those songs that I'm going to undoubtedly forget by the end of the night."

Sabina: "Well, let's see if you're right! Ladies and gentlemen, remember, if you want to vote for Kalosia, please add -05 to the number at the bottom of your screen! Up next, we have Alicia Sumner representing the nation of Titaniumland!"

06. Titaniumland
Alicia Sumner – Pieces

Mikhail: "Wow, I actually really like this one! A perfect midtempo song, just perfect for this contest. The girl, Alicia, looks stunning, and this is a huge improvement from when she participated in Worldvision all those years ago."

Sabina: "The song was good... But that's about it. The performance was a bit bland, and please please don't get me started on the lyrics. I really don't feel like dragging this poor girl down on her big night."

Mikhail: "Fine, but at least agree with me on the fact that the ending was spectacular. The sparks were a perfect ending to such a drama-filled song, and it looked stunning. For us, at least. Some of the viewers at home might have gotten a different angle, but I'm sure it looked fantastic."

Sabina: "Okay, the sparks were good, but it took too long for anything to happen on stage! The first minute or so, I was bored out of my mind! But I'll cut my rant short right now, because we're already viewing the postcard for Manaime, which is the next nation to perform. Take it away!"

07. Manaime
Mariella Orellio D'Calla, Jer'mi Feglender - Gri Ha'c Pol son D'i

Mikhail: "It's a very pretty song, and I appreciate the use of a language other than English, but... that's about all I can say about this one. It's a ballad, which isn't bad, but nothing much really happened throughout the performance. It could've been beautiful, but it was rather boring instead."

Sabina: "Yeah, so far, I have to rank this one as one of the most boring, if not the most boring song we've heard so far."

Mikhail: "I mean, maybe the broadcaster was going for a simplistic stage? That's about all I can think of, but when you have a song like this, you need some sort of a performance to make it memorable."

Sabina: "I'm afraid this one may finish near the bottom, but oh well. Moving on, next we have Goluta, with Sajofi singing "Win.""

08. Goluta
Sajofi - Win

Mikhail: "Oh... Um, this is rather... different from some of the other songs we've heard up until this point."

Sabina: "I don't think I've heard a song with quite this much screaming before. Maybe I have, but my subconscious might have just forced it out of my memory. For good reason too, this is horrible!"

Mikhail: "Maybe they're trying a reverse-psychology trick on the audience? They're asking for votes from all over, but I hope these lads aren't expecting much."

Sabina: "I'd hope not. Otherwise I'd be looking forward to their next single, 'Delusional'. Well, it's over now, and next we have Ekoz."

09. Ekoz
TBA - TBA

10. Togonistan
Tremendous - My Life

Mikhail: "We've had a whole heap of different music genres today, and I quite like that, actually. Some are bad, but sometimes they're pretty decent. This one happens to fall in the second category. I'm not much of a fan of seeing rap in contests such as these, but I think they've done it right here."

Sabina: "It's not as boring as some of the others, and certainly not terrible, but I don't know, I just can't focus on this one. After the first minute or so, I'm just tired of listening to it. The song doesn't really go anywhere."

Mikhail: "The ending is quite good, really. Maybe a bit cliche, singing about peace and putting guns and such away, but I don't see that as a bad thing.

Sabina: "We'll agree to disagree then. We have Adab next, and you all know what that means! It's Kinan al-Salaman performing once again for the nation!"

#17 ESTOGIUM
Reis Malik - "Yes or No"
Tune : Panic! At The Disco - "Death of A Bachelor"
Writers: Reis Malik, Timothy White, Music:Gilbert Johansen, Reis Malik, T:Rodden, Conductor: Zachary Lyon

Estogium returns to the WorldVision Song Contest after taking a two edition break; WorldVision 55 and 56. Estogium did not participate in the 55th WorldVision Song Contest, after demands from the now fallen Nightom made RVC (the Estogian broadcaster) forcefully withdraw from the contest. In the RU (Ultimaversian Republics), only two nations can participate in the contest based on the fact that friendly voting between the states might be highly likely. Britonisea has the largest population, and out of the broadcasters, has the best broadcaster. Britonisea automatically qualifies to participate and broadcast the WorldVision Song Contest. Estogium is the second largest, and second best, and is usually a second option. This has been decided by the Island of the Blessed (two islands in the Ultimaverse where international politics take place; higher than any judge in the region). Island of the Blessed granted Estogium rights to participate in the contest, despite the nation being on the verge of collapse. Nightom went on to win the contest, which made Estogium's broadcaster furious as it was Nightom's 2nd try, while Estogium has participated in the contest 17 times without a win. Estogium's broadcaster demanded that it should have a right to participate in the 56th WorldVision Song Contest. The Island of the Blessed agreed and with the help of the Britonish Broadcaster, IGBK, an international song contest called the Cross Border Battle was established. To eliminate prejudices in music industries (Estogium has a very powerful music industry compared to the fairly meek Aloquirbe), the Island of the Blessed song writers and producers made three songs to be performed. The songs were then put in a draw and the song selected by each broadcaster was the one they would use. Reis Malik was to be the performer for Estogium, and if the song was aimed for a female to sing, it could be changed slightly to suit Reis. Unfortunately, Reis Malik received a song which did him no favours, "You and Me," was given to Reis Malik, and the song scored 70 points (last place) compared to Aloquirbe's 88, and Nightom's 82. Aloquirbe defied the odds and went on to represent the Non-Britonisea RU nations, eventhough they were not involved in the previous spat. This was the first time Aloquirbe went to WorldVision Song Contest since the 42nd edition. After taking a 14 edition break, Aloquirbe scored 90 points with 4th place, higher than Britonisea. Estogium are hoping to replicate that success.

Estogium returns in the form of Reis Malik, who has been compared to Israael Kashtkar, for their dashing good looks and experimental song choices. Reis Malik, as previously mentioned, was in the running to represent Estogium at the WorldVision Song Contest, but this did not happen. The last time Estogium participated in the WorldVision Song Contest, they came 12th with 63 points with Israael Kashtkar, which was a drop from WorldVision 53's 6th place, 71 points, and Israael Kashtkar in WorldVision 52, 6th place with 71 points as well. RVC believes that as the nation stabilised, this was a factor as to why the Island of the Blessed voted against Estogium participating in the 55th WorldVision Song Contest. They hope that with this song, Estogium can return to the top 5, as it last did in WorldVision 51 with Karjohan Katejan, a beloved Estogian.

Reis Malik is not new to the international stage, however, and so stage fright will not be a problem from him. Recently, Reis Malik represented Estogium in the World Hit Festival in Euskirribakondara. Performing after Nightom, Estogium was placed 15th with the song "I'm Ready," which was high energy pop with an Arabian flavour injected in it. Though the song did much better than their previous performance (from 16th to 8th, 6 points to 14), it only slightly placed on the left handside of the scoreboard. Estogium did receive 5 points from the hosts, Euskirribakondara, who were more than pleased with the performance.

Reis Malik is very pleased to be able to represent Estogium in the WorldVision Song Contest, and is even more pleased that the contest is taking place in their neighbouring nation, Britonisea. He said that he is excited for the performance and he hopes that the audience, and the voting public will love his performance as much as he does.
Key
(Give me a) - If in brackets, this is sung as the "Oh-Oh-Oh" bits.
Your eyes paint pictures - Reis Malik is singing.

Reis Malik walks on the stage wearing his suit and tie, with his suit buttoned up. He looked very sophisticated as he walked on the stage, and he thought that the song was quite a sophisticated song. During the postcard playing, he sat on a seat. The props that were on the stage were two sets of chairs and tables, of which he sat down on. No one else was on the stage. The audience started to scream loudly as the performance was about to start, with all the lights going dim in to the arena. For the audience at home, the camera turned from colour in to black and white.

A simple white light, with the other parts of the arena dimly light, were on and focusing at Reis Malik. As the audience died down, a steadicam came up from behind him, and as it did, he opened metal lighter, which made a click sound. And whilst he was doing this, the camera slowly made its way around to show Reis' face. Reis then span his drink, which looked like alcohol with crushed ice in it, before taking a sip. As what sounded like music being winded was heard in the arena, it looked like everything that just happened was play in reverse, and during this time, Reis managed to get up from the seat and stood at the lone standing microphone in the middle edge of the arena's stage. The lights quickly flashed in the arena during this part, but he started to sing before the lights stopped flashing, which it did when the bass came in.

Your eyes paint pictures,
As you dart your gaze at my way.
I can but only just stay back and wait.
I hope I'm not mislead, that would be a shame.
You can play hard to get, but only if in the end,
I receive the prize; You.

From the start of the song, the camera - which once focused on his eyes, slowly moved out, to reveal his whole attire, occasionally switching from camera to camera to show his body from different angles. Reis did not make any eye contact with the camera, though, he was looking around at the audience, and also seeming to look above the camera. However this all changed when he had sung, "You," slowly extending his hands outwards towards the camera.

Won't be here for too long, Won't chase you around.
But if you're close by,
Abstinence will die,
We'd crack on.

His face would often be covered by shadows going over his face, and would slowly disappear behind it. The lights in the arena remained very black-and-white, and the cameras where still indeed that. Reis placed one of his hands in his pocket, and began singing in to the microphone at an angle, twisting his head. The camera was moving itself backwards, slowly making it's way downward to his body, to the point where it had reached his foot, and then you could see the man tapping his feet along to the song.

For the chorus of the song, he snatched the microphone from the stand, and kicked the stand in to the audience, only for it to be caught by an eager, Reis-obsessive fan from Todlichebujoku. The man turned his back to the audience walked slowly to the seats at the back of the stage. The camera slowly moving backwards, watching him, as he sang in to it.

Don't want to be mislead,
(Give me a) simple yes or no.
I can't wait much longer,
(I feel like) the walking dead.
I'm usually loyal, But I need to know now.
What we have is deeper,
I am begging, give me a simple yes or no.

The lights were intensified, and the people playing on the brass instruments in the song were now seen by the camera, they were in the orchestra pit but were dressed for the occasion... Reis Malik then sat in a chair, as he sang the final part of that song. He then held the microphone in one hand, while putting his other hand on the neck of the chair adjacent to him. The camera followed him and quickly looked at this seat, of which when the camera looked back at him, he pointed at the chair, and drew it for the camera, making the audience at home part of the performance.

I want to approach you,
I saved you a seat 'cuz I still have hope.
Hoping one day you'll come around,
We'd sit down and have tea.

Dancers, who were dressed in 1950s attire, like they were going to a disco or ball, started to walk on to the stage. The men were wearing snazzy suits, while the girls wore dashing and eye-opening dresses. They walked on the stage with their hands up in the air, holding on to the fingers of the men who followed them behind. The women they pushed the men on the chairs as they started to dance in front of them, facing the audience. At this point, Reis Malik stood up.

Anything you would need,
I would be there at your service.
Selling myself short here,
Please, come and test me out.

Reis Malik pulled one of the girls with one of his hands, and twisted her around, like they do in the movies, she then swirled her body downwards before twisting back outwards, and Reis Malik walking forwards. "Selling myself short here," when this was sung, the men then got up and clutched the girls, hugging them from behind before lifting them in the air swirling them around so they are the one's sitting down. The men (four of them, two on each side), then walked forward and smiled and aligned with Reis Malik.

Won't be here for too long, Won't chase you around.
There's one thing to say,
One to be heard,
So can you confirm?

The four men then started to sway along with the music, bopping two sides to the left before staying still and then bopping to the right. Reis Malik also did this. At each they stopped, there was what sounded like a clap sound. The camera was moved form far out, and closer to capture the five males on stage dancing like each other.

Don't want to be mislead,
(Give me a) simple yes or no.
I can't wait much longer,
(I feel like) the walking dead.
I'm usually loyal, But I need to know now.
What we have is deeper,
I am begging, give me a simple yes or no.

During this section, the bridge was played and this focused on what was going on with the instrumentalists in the orchestra pit, which was built for the stage tonight. The camera would fidget quickly between those in the orchestra pit, who looked like they were playing their instruments with pride. Meanwhile, on the stage, the women and the men were dancing behind Reis, doing sychronised hand movements, which looked quite good from our side of the lens. While the camera also moved between the two, Reis was doing some head movements, which could only be compared to Loic Nottet in Eurovision 2015.

As the brass section honed in, he jumped backwards in to the audience, and was surfing the Britonish audience. He was then taken to the middle stage, where there was another standing microphone waiting for him to perform. The camera, from far away, followed him move across the arena. The camera also changed from black and white to colour, and the colours in the arena also lightened up to blue, gold and silver.

Don't want to be mislead,
(Give me) a simple yes or no.
I can't wait much longer,
(I feel like) the walking dead.
I'm usually loyal, But I need to know now.
What we have is deeper,
I wonder if whether your answer is yes or no.

The audience cheered loudly for Reis Malik on his WorldVision debut. "Thanks per hyslareux Brityunik! Lio viet, hopeo likeví miet" he shouted at the top of his lungs before bowing and running off the stage.

Why was Machievelihe chosen?

Hannah Baker: Thank you to Reis Malik for that performance, it's definitely a "Yes" from me! *Audience applauds loudly* Now, the process to host the WorldVision Song Contest is quite a long one, and this includes finding the right city to even bid to host the competition. I have, and I am sure you all at home wonder how the Britonish prepares to bid for the contest. With me, I have the Mayor of Machievelihe, George Bartolli, who will speak to us about this process. Hello, George, how are you?

George Bartolli: Hello, Hannah! I am very, very well tonight. I am actually very proud to see the WorldVision Song Contest in Machievelihe, and tonight there has been some spectacular performances. Usually, there isn't a chance for cities like ours to host again, and in a country where it seems all cities are vying to host the competition, I am glad that Machievelihe got that opportunity to show themselves, not to the Britonish public, but everyone out there.

Hannah Baker: Awe, thanks! Whether you guys at home know this or not, this is the 8th time Britonisea has bid to host, the previous times being in WorldVision 32, 35, 36, 41, 50, 51 and 56 in North Telm, Doportedas, Boschke, Quickenden, Junterapten, Kyvivre, Doportedas again and of course, now we are in Machievelihe! Poor Doportedas! So tell me, how does it work?

George Bartolli: Usually what happens is during the previous contest, so in this case, it was WorldVision 56, every single city that can host a contest of this magnitude is called up. If your city had bid the last time Britonisea put in a bid, you will not receive the call. Then after this, cities that think they are able to host the contest call back and are put down as official candidates. This, of course, did not count the WorldVision 50 bid, for Junterapten. In the case of Doportedas, they accepted those two times - WorldVision 35 and 56, and on both occasions, they missed out. Quickenden, Kyvivre and our city, Machievelihe are lucky because there were other very stiff competition. I mean, we literally had the cities of Eaux, who has never put forward a WorldVision bid officially, and Tonesk. Both cities do want to host something, so you never know!

Hannah Baker: And, do you think Machievelihe did well this edition - in terms of preparation? Do you think that it is better than the Kyvian and Quickendenese preparations?

George Bartolli: I'm not going to play games and say whether X city was better, or Y city. I think all three cities are magnificent organisers. Whereas Kyvivre had that recent help from hosting World Hit, and Quickenden hosting Mehlodhifehstivalhen, they were more prepared looking from the outside. But, as a city who is new to this sort of game, I think we did exceptionally well to rival the WorldVision Song Contest held by our brothers and sisters.

Hannah Baker: Okay! Thank you George Bartolli! *Audience cheers as George leaps off the stage* It is back to the music! Song Number 18, are you ready to perform?

BVC: 57th WorldVision Song Contest

BVC ONE
The 57th WorldVision Song Contest

Brityunik Vefecosoin Cairkovoin

Live Coverage of the 57th WorldVision Song Contest in Machievelihe with your hosts Zeke Lemondey and Rigas Jengiz

Rigas Jengiz: *To WV55 Winner* I Will Not Concede!
Zeke Lemondey: We are back in the commentary box, and I am yet to represent Britonisea in the WorldVision Song Contest, but it's cool!
Rigas: We are back after that failed bit attempt, we are now in Britonisea, only six editions after we last hosted!
Zeke: We were up against some good competition, I mean, Polkopia!
Rigas: Actually, you know what I realised. In the end, we were Deceived By Polkopia in the end after they cut off our performance in WorldVision 54, I don't think Britonisea would've participated if they hosted.
Zeke: But yeah, Polkopia did already host three times. Polkopia three times, Britonisea two times, Mister X once and well Merecendi is not credible enough to mention, really.
Rigas: Oh come on, don't be so mean! Merecendi had a nice little bid, I mean, we all know their budget is the best.
Zeke: It really isn't is it.
Rigas: Well sad face guys, this is our last time commentating whilst participating in the contest!
Zeke: I know it is really sad, but look, tonight is going to be a superb night of fun! And I heard Izmedu is going to perform first!
Rigas: No way! What a change!
Zeke: Britonisea is performing a late 22nd place.
Rigas: Yes, we are. Anyway, the Nation's Parade is literally about to begin and that means we need to go!
Zeke: You spoilt the surprise, you idiot! We will be performing with all the WorldVision stars for the Opening Act. So, we will be leaving the commentary for now. But I promise straight after we will be back. Just enjoy the show, we'll only be gone for the best of ten minutes. Look, some nations can't even afford commentary boxes, so be grateful!
Rigas: See you lovelies!

*Parade of Nations and Opening Song*

01. Izmedu

Rigas: I am not too sure about this song, Zeke. I think that the song that they sent last edition was miles better than this song. What do you think?
Zeke: I think I have to agree with you, Rigas. I know they have been urged to send happier songs, but this is borderline cheesy.
Rigas: I agree. Izmedu have their staging and stuff like that down to a T, but I am not sure about the instrumentation, if that makes sense?
Zeke: It does. It is an okay entry from Izmedu. Izmedu are performing first, and I think they will hurt them a bit. It just seems like the Izmeduan magic isn't there. Regardless, though, they will probably enter the top 5.
Rigas: I can see top 10, but not top 3. Anyway if you think Izmedu should win the contest, you know what to do at the end. It is 0123 4567 8901.
Zeke: Right, up next is Lons! Long time no see from Lons, and we are excited to see their return!

02. Lons

Zeke: If that is Lons you want to see up in the top 5, all you need to do is pick up your phone and dial the number 0123 4567 8902 when you are told to pick up your phone!
Rigas: Next up is Normandy and Picardy. Unfortunately, their previous representative Jean-Pierre Montour died simply from crossing the border to Monaeroglisseurest Pleindanguilles. Sad right?

03. Normandy and Picardy

Zeke: I am so confused... Is this entry from Normandy and Picardy? This is very experimental.
Rigas: It is very experimental...I don't even know whether I like it or not.
Zeke: It's okay, nothing which slaps me across the face and says, "I am going to win..."
Rigas: I agree, it's a nice song...that's about it. 0123 4567 8903 for Normandy and Picardy.
Zeke: Up next is Polkopia, the ones that have won too many times.

04. Polkopia

Zeke: I hope they don't think they can win in our country.
Rigas: Someone pass me over a blanket and a pillow. I think I am ready to take a deep slumber.
Zeke: It is a nice dreamy song, which will shine based on the fact it followed Normandy and Picardy.
Rigas: Looking at the bookies, the nation is at the top, or near the top, to win. But isn't that just them all the time?
Zeke: I don't see the big deal...I just liked two of their win. The "Not Me" one and the handsome boy one, the recent one. Anyway to vote for Polkopia, it is 0123 4567 8904.
Rigas: Up next it is Kalosia. Can I just say, this is quite a crap running order. Why put all these nations at the front? We are going to be left with a dry ending.
Zeke: L-O-L!

05. Kalosia

Rigas: If you would like to see Kalosia winning again, all you have to do is 0123 4567 8905. Yeah, that's it really.
Zeke: Did you hear that they are setting up that Bring Us The Songs competition?
Rigas: Yeah. I don't intend on participating. But of course we need the singers, so if you're interested, just contact BVC.
Zeke: Might not even take place in the end... Up next is Titaniumland, returning after a long break.

06. Titaniumland

Zeke: Alicia Sumner, not summer. But yeah, Titaniumland is back with a screamy-shouty woman.
Rigas: To be fair, I do think I like this song the most out of all the songs that have performed already. I don't know, I think that it is cool.
Zeke: I think that if Polkopia sent this song, they would win. Take it that way.
Rigas: But yeah, I quite like it.
Zeke: Titaniumland is a very special country though. They send some songs they always appeal to Britonish fans, I think this will be one of them. I think Titaniumland could get some good points from us. If you agree, it is 0123 4567 8906.
Rigas: It is the first of many debuting nations, Manaime. I have heard that the ministry are very protective of their song, so we must watch what we say.

07. Manaime

Rigas: What a mess. Why is the crowd throwing papier-mâché on to the stage? What the hell? Thank lord we have cleaners to clear this mess up!
Zeke: As for the song, I didn't like that 10 second introduction of silence. But after that it was very sweet.
Rigas: And his voice is quite nice, don't you think? Yeah. I like the harmonies.
Zeke: Though it's just a tad basic. There are hardly any staging apart from a spotlight, until the end of course, when we see those massive fireworks.
Rigas: Before we give you the lines though, these two need to learn that they are blessed to be on our stage, not us being blessed to listen to them. Let's just clear that up! Haha! If Manaime should win on their debut, just call 0123 4567 8907.
Zeke: I quite liked that...Made me think of my life. Anyway, it's Goluta next...

08. Goluta

Zeke: I like the Reggae-Russo infusion going on there. Yes, it tickles my fancy indeed. I think both songs, both this and Normandy and Picardy are alt-rock...
Rigas: I love how one minute it is YAHHH YEAAHHH BNFOBEWBO and then it's like lalalalala. They're so contrasting.
Zeke: It's laughable, but in the nicest way possible.
Rigas: There is just something about it that I like. It's defo a contender to win the WorldVision Song Contest; eventhough I don't think it will.
Zeke: Well, will Britonisea be giving it the full 12 points? Remember, this edition, it is 100% televote! Things get frisky when it is 100% televote! It is 0123 4567 8908.
Rigas: Next up is some lad called Finn from Ekoz. Didn't have to travel a long way to get to Britonisea, so he shouldn't be so nervous. It seems like all Ekozians these days have been to Britonisea.

09. Ekoz

Rigas: I am not sure about you, but if you would like to see Ekoz win for the first time, all you have to do is 0123 4567 8909.
Zeke: Tremendous, absolutely Tremendous. It is Togonistan coming up. Let's see what they have for us.

10. Togonistan

Rigas: Yes, I can see this doing well. I like the song, Togonistan!
Zeke: Telling me, I really did enjoy the song. And lord. I just absolutely love that stupendous group of vocalists.
Rigas: That hit the spot. I was taken back to 1980s or something, to enjoy this beautiful song. I love it!
Zeke: I wouldn't mind this featuring in the top 10. Not at all!

Rigas: Let's just speak over Hannah Baker, I mean, I am pretty sure no one is even listening to her. What do you think so far?
Zeke: I actually liked Togonistan's song. I think that was a great ending to that part of the contest, 100%.
Rigas: I think that Goluta's song is also something to watch out for. I am looking at the veterans, and I can see Polkopia and Izmedu doing well, even if they weren't what I'd usually go for.
Zeke: Let's go to the arena and listen to Yuri. They are speaking about how the postcards came about...After this, it is straight to Adab!

11. Adab

Zeke: Adab, Adab, Adab. I am not sure whether it's the nation's direction or Kinan Al-Salaman. I mean, looking at his profile picture for this edition, it seems like he has quite frankly had enough of it.
Rigas: Daddy is back with a song that's quite a bore.I mean, it's not that bad. It's just not exciting. And that choir is rubbish.
Zeke:: I like it, but I don't like it. It just seems like the same thing from Adab. Interestingly, on the scoreboard last edition, Adab was in the top 5 for a bit, until everyone surpassed them. Maybe they like that sort of stuff?
Rigas: I know right, maybe it's just that. For a country with 65 million people, I wonder how they feel about Kinan being their only singer for the WorldVision Song Contest. I mean, Rick with Missus X is a different story...
Zeke: Well, for Adab it is 0123 4567 8911...Next up is Socialist...Skeletons? Hold up...

12. Socialist Skeletons

Rigas: ...
Zeke: ...
Rigas: That was the longest six minutes of my life.
Zeke: Yeah, it was. It was six minutes and fourteen seconds. It was so repetitive.
Rigas: Especially that high pitched section. It was a bit monotonous. But whatever, they'll get over this patriotism phase next edition, unless they're Gregoryisgodistan or something.
Zeke: Yeah..gosh.
Rigas: Anyway, to vote for Socialist Skeleltons, it is 0123 4567 8912. Up next is the winners of last edition, Todlichebujoku. What a fantastic position in the running order. After that...

13. Todlichebujoku

Zeke: Another woman, Todlichebujoku? Please stop it. Stop it, I say! The song is okay. It's not fantastic. It's just a screaming woman.
Rigas: Yeah, I am not too sure about this song.I don't know, I am just sure that I'm not.
Zeke: Rigas, let's talk about Menneisyytemme.
Rigas: Let's not bring that up.
Zeke: If you think that Todlichebujoku should win again, for a second time in a row, as if they were Kishrael, please just call 0123 4567 8913. Up next is Mister X, and there is some sort of big thing surrounding this song. Let's see...

14. Mister X

Rigas: Another rock song this edition. It seems that are a lot of rock songs this edition.
Zeke: It is very over-dramatic, I believe. I mean the dramatic camera shots were very..dramatic.
Rigas: The horde of women...I don't really know what is going on.
Zeke: Me neither. I mean, what the hell is a Pandora's box?
Rigas: Oh Zeke. Stop making me laugh. If you'd like to vote for Mister X, all you have to do is call 0123 4567 8914!
Zeke: Okay, so up next it is Electrum Diplomatic Offices. And oh no, it is 17 minutes long.

15. Electrum Diplomatic Offices

Zeke: Pay Gertrude $100 and she will pray for you to make a profit of $900. The Britonish are not that stupid, come on.
Rigas: Yeah, very strange, Electrum Diplomatic Offices, this song. I don't really like it. Is it even a song?
Zeke: It is, unfortunately. A bit too religious for me.
Rigas: No Britonish people will succumb to this sort of madness, no way!
Zeke: Well, if you would like to vote for Electrum Diplomatic Offices, all you have to do is call 0123 4567 8915. Well, up next is Electrum.

16. Electrum

Rigas: Okay, what place did she come in WorldVision 40?
Zeke: She came 12th.
Rigas: Yeah, she ain't gonna do any better this time, I think. I don't really know the direction that Electrum is going on this edition, but I don't think this is the right direction.
Zeke: I mean, it's a bit of harmless fun, if you get what I mean? The male dancers hit the spot though.
Rigas: I guess they do, but I do believe that something is missing.
Zeke: If you believe otherwise, please call 0123 4567 8916 for Electrum.
Rigas: Next up, it is Estogium with the song "Yes or No" by Reis Malik.
Zeke: Let's have a look!

17. Estogium

Zeke: I like Reis. I do like this song too. I love the instrumentation, and I love the package. That bridge section is good too. I think it's cool.
Rigas: Me too, Zeke. However, I do believe that more could have been done with the staging, you know what I mean?
Zeke: They could have been more...more.
Rigas: Maybe. It is 0123 4567 8917 for Estogium.
Zeke: And oh look, it's a break before we go to song number 18, which is Wazekia. Last time they participated was in Britonisea's Quickenden. So it is nice to have them back!

Rigas: That was a nice ending, wasn't it? I quite liked that from Estogium. However, I think that section of songs were not as good as the first selection. On average, anyway. Zeke, what do you think?
Zeke: I mean if you looked at it from this section only, Mister X, Estogium and Todlichebujoku would probably be top three, with Electrum coming a close fourth. I am not sure what is going on with the rest.
Rigas: No. me neither. Let's listen in on Hannah Baker before we go to Wazekia.

18. Wazekia

Zeke: I quite liked this entry, I quite liked it. This is a very experimental song, isn't it? And I appreciate it for that reason.
Rigas: Yeah, totally. I think that it is a breath of fresh air from the usual. I really like the way they are coming back.
Zeke: I think more could have been done to make the staging of this song more up to scratch.
Rigas: Oh, yeah, I totally agree to this. I totally agree.
Zeke: Anyway, to give Wazekia a vote, please dial 0123 4567 8918! That's all you have to do!
Rigas: Up next is Missus X with that idiot Rick Leg.

19. Missus X

Zeke: I don't see this doing any better than the their previous results, to be honest.
Rigas: I think their previous entries overshadow this nation, and now, whatever they send just isn't credible.
Zeke: Totally. But, Monaero did come top 10 one edition. That edition where we came 9th, and Estogium came 11th. Something like that.
Rigas: True, but this nation. I like the tune, it's a nice jig. But I don't see this coming anywhere near the top 10 of Britonisea's list. And to be honest, they are going to need as much nations voting for them as possible. If you think Missus X should be the top of the leaderboard, you know what to do... It is 0123 4567 8919. Up next, it's Kwadai! Let's hope they have something delightful for us!

20. Kwadai

Rigas: What a very 8-bit beginning, but as we move through the song, you can tell that it's quite mystical and interesting.
Zeke: This song is defo one of my favourites so far, just based on the instrumentation of the song.
Rigas: It is quite experimental, and you would usually find these types of songs in the World Hit Festival, where being experimental is key.
Zeke: It also reminds me of what Britonisea sent in WorldVision 50, with Tess. That came only 8th.
Rigas: Yeah, it did, didn't it? I think that this will pull it off though. There is just something about the song that makes me want to vote for it. Easily one of the best entries tonight.
Zeke: Song Number 20, aye? It is 0123 4567 8920 if you want Kwadai to win the WorldVision Song Contest.
Rigas: Next up is Balkvla Islands. They are sending that incredibly boring Gaeilge Woman group again. Let's hope they are better this time around.

21. Balkvla Islands

Zeke: Are they speaking about immigration problems?
Rigas: No, they are not singing about immigration problems. They seem to be singing about Refugees and stuff like that, but while this is a small improvement off last edition, it's still boring.
Zeke: It really is. I can't stress how long and drawn out this is. I mean, the Gaelic, Gaelige, Gaeilge Woman group have beautiful voices.
Rigas: I love how we had a large orchestra pit, with a full orchestra, and they decided to bring their own violinists.
Zeke: I know, we are offering them with something not a lot of WorldVision organisers just couldn't be bothered to do.
Rigas: Anyway, song number 21 if Balkvla Islands, and if you'd like to vote for it, it's 0123 4567 89121.
Zeke: Up next is, finally, Britonisea. Britonisea is being represented by Mello Cinde. The first time a blonde woman is representing us. Just wanted you guys to know something interesting.
Rigas: I am basically blonde.
Zeke: We all know that is dye, I can see you roots, honey.

22. Britonisea

Rigas: I am loving the experimental feel to all of the songs, I really am. I think that this song could do quite well tonight.
Zeke: The question is, will they beat last edition's score of 86 points and 5th place?
Rigas: Well, the winner did get 118 points last tiem, and I am not sure whether the winner will get nearly 120 points this time. But, usually, the higher the winner, the higher the 2nd place, 3rd place etc. Hoping that the winner gets a high mark, whoever the winner is, hopefully Britonisea can edge up in to the 80s bracket. I would love to see Britonisea get another set of points in the 90s bracket. I would love to see us getting more than what we got in WorldVision 49, with Justs Prazeres.
Zeke: Totally, it would be a real victory in our eyes. I can see us doing relatively well. This could be our fourth consecutive top 10 result, which was last seen during the WorldVision 41 to 45 period.
Rigas: It would be a nice send off. You cannot vote for Britonisea unfortunately.

23. Antahbrantahstan

Zeke: If you want Antahbrantahstan to win the WorldVision Song Contest, please dial 0123 4567 8923 when you are told to!

24. Arioslavia

Rigas: If you think Arioslavia is the way to go, you know what to do, just dial 0123 4567 8924...Anyway, up next we have Saveira!

25. Saveira

Rigas: I just don't get this country, they send stupid songs.
Zeke: They do. Glorifying that green brownie is not okay!
Rigas: I totally agree with you, I totally agree with you!
Zeke: Saveira has finished anyway, and if you want a bite of their brownie, call 0123 4567 8925, I am getting tired of saying those numbers..
Rigas: Up next is Monaeroglisseurest Pleindanguilles...Song Number 26!
Zeke: Étienne Delacroix is one of the sexiest men I have ever met in my life. I wouldn't mind fuc-
Rigas: Okay! They are about to perform...

26. Monaeroglisseurest Pleindanguilles

Zeke: I can see this song winning. I can actually see this winning. I know that this is very 18+, but I think that the voters would like this sort of tease, especially the Britonish Public.
Rigas: They won't win.
Zeke: WHAT? Listen, his bod is quite heavenly, and his voice is quite fine. It is all about the stage presence, and despite being a little farmer boy picking wheat, potato or whatever they pick in the farms of wherever, he is a saucy, sassy character.
Rigas: I just don't see it. It's very experimental rock. I don't know. If you at home agree with Zeke, and think this song is worth voting for, it is 0123 4567 8903.
Zeke: Right, up next is Merecendi. Let's see what they have for us!
Rigas: Oh, not them...

27. Merecendi-

Rigas: I don't really know what happened there. I feel uncomfortable because these people came up close to me. It's a no-vote from me!
Zeke: I agree, let's just move on!
Rigas: Yes, to vote for Merecendi, please call 0123 4567 8927!
