The Haverkamp campaign spends $40,000 renting various buses, minibuses and vans to shuttle groups of senior citizens believed to support the Civic Union from their retirement homes and community centres to the polls.

Subject: Get out and vote!

Dear supporter,

Today is the day we have all been waiting for. You now have an opportunity to build a better, fairer and more prosperous Fortaleza that is open to the world through the simple act of voting. While many may think of the election as a finishing line for our campaign, which has engaged millions of Fortalezans and represents the silent majority who want efficient, just government, I think of it instead as the starting line. The real competition, to make Fortaleza into the global city we know it can be, is yet to begin. And it can only begin if you vote today for the Haverkamp ticket.

Join millions of Fortalezans in sending a resounding message to the political establishment: we are a city of builders and makers who don't want life handed to us on a gilded plate with a diverse, tolerant identity, which will never fall to our common enemy of authoritarian far-right politics.

To our elderly and disabled supporters who may have trouble getting the polls, or to the relatives and friends of politically-engaged senior citizens, we've got you covered. Just give our campaign a call and we'll dispatch a van to bring you to the polls and back home free of charge. I strongly believe that anyone, no matter what obstacles may exist, should have the right to exercise their right and civic duty to vote.

My wife and I will be watching the results come in from Fortaleza Arena, along with my good friend Amman Singh. I hope you'll join us (after voting!) and witness history in the making.

Together, there is nothing in our way.

Sincerely yours,

Nick Haverkamp

Socialism and Communism are not the way forward for Fernão yet the RGA has fanatic supporters of these systems in their ranks. Can such a party be trusted to run our country?

This was a letter sent to every household in Sarkar's 3rd district. The envelope it was sent in, was interestingly enough, the party logo.

Forward Fernao !

Dear Friend,

This election campaign is coming to a close. After three weeks of heavy campaigning, you voters make your way to the ballot boxes tomorrow. My opponent, as honourable a man as he may be, has not made a single appearance throughout this entire campaign. This speaks volumes about his level of commitment to this job - nil. I ask each and every one of you to place your faith in me to deliver a fairer, more prosperous, economically sustainable Fernao that works for all of us - not just the few, but the many as well.

But if I had a goal for Fernao, I would not have run for a local Senate seat. I would simply have looked at things from a federal point of view, where I would be unhindered by constituency business. However, because I wish to serve you - the people of Sarkar - that I run today for your local seat. I will help this constituency pick itself up and stand on its own two feet again, and provide it as a shining example for the rest of Fernao to be proud of.

Small businesses, infrastructure, labour laws, these are but a few things that I will raise up in Parliament to help you, my constituents-to-be, to help yourselves.

But I need your votes. The polls might give me a commanding lead, but polls are polls - they mean nothing at the ballot box unless people actually turn up to vote.
That is why I encourage you, my friends and supporters, to turn up in massive numbers and give me your vote. Every single vote counts.

Regardless of the election result, I will serve the citizens of this district. I will help protect the freedoms of this district and country from both fascism and communism - both sides of the same coin that unfortunately manifested themselves in this great country.

I hope to see everyone at the polling booths tomorrow.

Your friend,

BREAKING NEWS: Kassem meets with PM Justin Trudeau at policy conference
Wake Snapper, Fernão News Network | June 16 2017

Image
Reza Kassem (right) talks foreign policy with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (left)

- (Miliband, Fernão) Reza Kassem gained an expected supporter today, when he encountered Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at a public policy conference on foreign policy in Miliband. Kassem is previously acquainted with Prime Minister Trudeau, having encountered him multiple times during his work for the United Nations. When asked if he was endorsing Kassem in his Senate race, the Prime Minister said, "I would certainly vote for him if I lived in Fernão, but that's for the Fernoan people to decide. I'll tell you this, Reza is fully committed to improving the lives of people, and that's always his priority wherever he goes. Sarkar's second district would be lucky to have him." Here's an excerpt from Kassem's discussion at the conference:

“I believe that foreign policy is too often portrayed as a black-and-white issue. It almost never is. There's always shades of grey. Look at any global conflict, and you'll find that both sides often have serious flaws and legitimate concerns. The Israelis and the Palestinians are the most obvious example. There is no doubt that Israel has occupied Palestinian land for far too long. The pre-1967 borders must be respected. Peace will never be achieved while the Israeli government is encouraging further settlement in the West Bank. But it's also true that the route many Palestinians take to fight against the occupation are unacceptable. Violence against civilians is never acceptable, and the Palestinian Authority must more strongly condemn terrorism for their cause.

“The problem is that it's hard for people to see any nuance on this issue. If you support Israel's right to exist as a Jewish democratic state, then you suddenly also have to support everything the Israeli government does. If you support the Palestinians' right to self-determination, then you suddenly must oppose the existence of Israel and support anti-semitism and terrorism. Neither of these lines of view are correct. A two-state solution is the best path for Israel and Palestine, but its prospects are getting weaker by the day, with an American government that is increasingly anti-Palestine, an Israeli government that is increasingly pro-settlement, and a Palestinian populace that is becoming increasingly radicalised.

“However, I don't believe the situation is as bleak as it appears. There is hope. There is always hope. A majority of both Israelis and Palestinians still want a two-state solution. It is their governments that must get serious about peace. Only then will it happen.”

BREAKING NEWS: Red-Green Alliance ramps up campaign in Sarkar, Fortaleza
Wake Snapper, Fernão News Network | June 16 2017

Image
Fmr. Amb. Allison Ricardo (pictured) encourages Fortalezan residents to vote for Nagarkar

- (Fortaleza, Fernão) The Red-Green Alliance has ramped up its effort in Sarkar's second district and Fortaleza's mayoral race. In both areas, the RGA has sent an additional ten staffers and has transferred $2,500 in funds. The party has also targeted their most talented speakers to those two races. David Bloom, the Alliance's candidate for Governor of Sarkar, has turned his attention towards campaigning in the second district. The Governor's race is not expected to be close, and Bloom is reported to hope that an increased turnout on the east coast of Sarkar will increase Reza Kassem's chances of winning.

In Fortaleza, former Ambassador to the United States Allison Ricardo has endorsed RGA candidate Chetan Nagarkar. Ricardo, who does not belong to any political party, is a life-long resident of the city, and was widely expected to stay neutral in the race after deciding not to run for herself. However, she recently came out in favor of Chetan Nagarkar, and has spoken across the city for him. She had this to say during a recent speech:

“A lot of people have asked me why I decided to endorse Chetan. The answer is simple: he has what it takes to improve this city. Chetan has the vision, the experience, and the guts to turn this city around. Don't get me long, I love Fortaleza; I've lived here my entire life. However, for far too long the poorest members of our city have been left behind. They don't get the benefits, only the hardships, that come with city life. I know that Chetan will not rest until this changes.

“Another reason why I've "come out of retirement", so to speak, to endorse Chetan is that I fear what will happen to our great city if he loses. The treat does not come from the Civic Union, however. It comes from the neo-fascist Fernão Phalanx Movement. If their candidate, Ulisses Seabra, were to have his way we would not be having this election at all. We would be having no elections, for Seabra is an opponent of democracy. Fortaleza must stand together behind Chetan Nagarkar, and strongly reject the anti-semitic and undemocratic message of the FPM. The people of Fortaleza are better than the FPM, now they must prove it at the ballot box.”

Ricardo, when asked if there were any other candidates she wished to show support for, mentioned Raghav Kshatriya and Reza Kassem. Both Senators are known to share her internationalist viewpoint on foreign affairs.

Reza Kassem and Chetan Nagarkar have also received a surge of support and funding from the General Union of Workers, the largest labor union in the nation. Bieito Guerreiro, president of the UGT, has personally campaigned for both candidates, while the union's famous GOTV operation is in full swing in both Sarkar's second and Fortaleza.

BREAKING NEWS: Reza Kassem campaigns door-to-door in Miliband
Wake Snapper, Fernão News Network | June 16 2017

Image
Reza Kassem (right) goes door knocking with volunteers in Miliband

- (Miliband, Fernão) Reza Kassem's campaign has started a massive GOTV operation. Red-Green Alliance volunteers, along with Kassem himself, have spread out across the city of Miliband, registering voters, and campaigning for Kassem. They aim to register as many people as possible. Top FNN reporter Jones Owen caught up with Kassem as he was canvassing in one of Miliband's poorest neighborhoods. When asked about his campaign's last minute efforts, Kassem had this to say:

“We want to make sure that every vote is counted. It is unacceptable that even in 2017 many people cannot vote because they don't have the means to. The amount of people who don't have a way to get to the polls is ridiculously high. That's why we have the RGA Carpooling Program. When people who'd like to vote don't have a car, or any other means of getting to the polls, we have volunteers who are ready to drive as many prospective voters as possible to the polls on election day. This has been implemented by the RGA in every district across Fernão, but it was spearheaded by our campaign in Sarkar's second. We want turnout to be as high as possible, because every vote counts.”

The Kassem campaign has redoubled its efforts in the days preceding election day. It has been reporter that Kassem has not slept for a week, though this is obviously exaggerated. Whether Kassem and the Red-Green Alliance's efforts will pay off will be seen later today.

BREAKING NEWS: Reza Kassem makes final appeal to voters
Wake Snapper, Fernão News Network | June 16 2017

Image
Reza Kassem (pictured) speaks at Central Park

- (Miliband, Fernão) Reza Kassem is making a final appeal to the voters of Sarkar before the polls close today. In a massive speech in Central Park in Miliband, Kassem called for the people of Sarkar to head to the polls:

“The campaign is almost over, but there is still work to be done. In fact, even after the polls close and a winner is declared, there will still be work to be done. It is unacceptable that so many young Fernoans feel as if they will never be able to deal with the increasing costs of a college education. It is unacceptable that poverty still lives in Sarkar, when so many of us are so well off. It is unacceptable that children still die of easily cured diseases just because they do not have access to basic healthcare. It is unacceptable that the top 1% pay less in taxes than their secretaries. It is unacceptable that the far-right attempts to divide us by race and religion, when we should be united. If I win today, these problems will still exist. But I promise to everything in my power to bring prosperity and equality to Fernão.”

BREAKING NEWS: Iyasu Isaias Mengistu hosts major campaign rally
BY BHASKAR SUNKARA, The New Guernsey Post | June 16, 2017

NEW GUERNSEY - Iyasu Isaias Mengistu hosted a major campaign rally in Wukro, New Guernsey, his hometown and the largest city in NG-3. Flanked by his personal bodyguards that are affiliated to the Fernãoense Peoples' Democratic Front, the Communist-aligned paramilitary led by Mengistu that is a powerful force in southern New Guernsey, Mengistu gave speeches wherein he vigorously criticized the Civic Union government and the administration of Priscilla Krishnan. He specifically criticized Priscilla Krishnan's highly controversial nominees for Labor and Public Works Secretary, particularly the Public Works Secretary nominee Arslan Shapur and stated that Shapur, as an admirer of Augusto Pinochet, was no strong opponent to right-wing military dictatorships in the vein of the one that governed varying territories of Fernão throughout the late twentieth and early twenty-first century. Mengistu argued that his reelection and the election of other leftists was vital to ensure that such nominees are not confirmed given that Priscilla Krishnan has renominated her nominees for Labor and Public Works Secretary after the Senate narrowly voted not to confirm her nominees for those posts.

Mengistu also touched upon other policies as well, by arguing that the economically liberal policies championed by both Priscilla Krishnan and his electoral opponent would bring ruin upon Fernão and actively support business that would destroy the largely-socialized and equitable economy of Southern New Guernsey, a legacy of Mengistu's governance as the leader of the Fernãoense Socialist Republic from 1999 to 2017. Mengistu also vigorously supported other leftist candidates throughout Fernão, by personally endorsing every RGA candidate for a Senate constituency and Governor by arguing that such Senators were needed to oppose Priscilla Krishnan's policies and that RGA Governors were needed to serve as a "vanguard against neoliberalism in the villages and towns of the nation". Mengistu also personally endorsed a Remain vote in the obscure town of Mococa within NG-3, arguing that Mococa has the opportunity to "reap massive benefits" from potential financial aid offered by higher governments in light of its looming financial problems.

Mengistu is currently considered to be the strong favorite to win the election, given the strong Communist presence in NG-3 and his enduring personal popularity in former areas of the FSR (including the vast majority of NG-3) as a result of the popular policies he championed as leader of the FSR and the large cult of personality built around Mengistu during his rule. Mengistu's campaign has also erected numerous billboards and posters throughout New Guernsey arguing that the election of his opponent would be a massive blow to the opposition and aid Priscilla Krishnan in her effort to pass her economically liberal agenda and confirm her two highly controversial Cabinet nominees.

A final message was sent out to all Chetan Nagarkar supporters.

From: no-reply@Nagarkar2017.fn
To: you@me.com
Subject: Get out and vote!

Supporters,

It is the final day of campaigning before voting finally commences, and I must take this time to say that I am incredibly proud of each and every one of you for the work and energy you’ve put into this campaign during this extremely tiring election season.

You know when I set out on the campaign trail I was thirty points behind of both of the current Mayoral candidates, and several voices in the media establishment had already written off my chances of electoral success completely, and I must confess that it was an incredibly depressing time for me. In that moment you rallied forth to save my campaign, you delivered leaflets, attended campaign rallies, hung up posters in every corner of the city and spoke to your neighbour about the type of progressive policies we’re pushing forward to create affordable housing, repair and modernise our local infrastructure, and create a fair and sustainable economy that works for everyone in this city.

Since that date, the Civic Union, and the wealthy elite have pumped tens of thousands of dollars into Nick Haverkamp’s election campaign, and I have no doubt you’ve seen the endless campaign buses and posters that money has brought, and to that, I ask you one simple question. Do you think that money comes without strings attached? No, it comes with promises of lucrative infrastructure contracts and tax breaks designed to make this city “competitive” and join the global race to the bottom that has turned dozens of other cities across the world into corporate tax havens.

I don’t have the support of the wealthy elite, and all throughout this campaign I have relied upon volunteers like yourself to donate both time and the occasional small sums of money to help promote this campaign along, and for that, I am extremely thankful but I must ask for one more favour tomorrow. Vote! If each and every one of you gathers your friends, neighbours and family members then we can achieve a historic victory!

In solidarity,

Chetan Nagarkar

Viel Rests his Case at Major Rally
Nuñes Fox, Fernão News Network | June 16, 2017

Image
Supporters of Senator Viel (RGA) pour into closed-off streets to get to his final rally.

- (Govila, Ferdinand, Fernão) The final day of campaigning. Senator Alexios Viel (RGA) is seemingly poised to take the Senate seat of the FD-4 constituency, but it is clear that he is not taking any chances with his opponent, former Naval Officer under the regime of Soetoro and the Civic Union's Leopoldo Agramonte. Nearing midnight before the day polls open, Viel took the stage before scores of his supporters, cheering and waving "Fighting for Us!" posters. As soon as he got on the stage, the crowd erupted with immense clapping and cheering, a broad smile on the Senator's face. He stood before his glass podium for nearly a full minute before the crowd finally died down.

"Thank you, my friends! Thank you, thank you so much!" After a quick burst of cheers, the crowd became silent as Viel began his speech.

"Thank you. My fellow Fernãoans, we have found ourselves today with two choices: myself and my opponent, Leopoldo Agramonte." The crowd booed and jeered loudly, but Viel hushed them down.

"Now now, we mustn't get ahead of ourselves. Mr. Agramonte ran a tough campaign, and we should respect that. However, let's not let his star-studded friends distract us from what he and the Civic Union stand for: a do-nothing Senate, a 'majority' that can't confirm its own president's terrible cabinet nominees and no plans to better our country! We know that this is not what we want, and this is not what Fernão deserves. This country deserves more than a puppet of Soetoro's oppressive regime who claims he was 'never aware' of the regime's horrid human rights violations, actively fought against the restoration of our country to a democratic state, and now, someone who hasn't written a single bill and claims to have 'plans for growth'!"

"My friends, we know that Mr. Agramonte has no plans. While he hangs out with his Hollywood buds, I turn my promises into comprehensive legislation, and make sure that they have enough support in the Senate to actually become reality. When I promised the Government Revenue Act to ensure that the government has the funds it needs to run its operations and to support small businesses and struggling families alike, I delivered! When I promised government transparency so citizens of this country know what their elected and unelected officials are up to, I delivered! I have proven my devotion and determination to our cause, and I will not back down!" The crowd roared their approval.

"There is now less than a day left. Knock on every door, call your friends and family, talk to your coworkers and bosses, share our message so we may continue our cause! The Red-Green Alliance has the plan and the legislation to rebuild our crumbling infrastructure, open up the government to its constituents, help small businesses thrive, protect our environment, put Fernãoans back to work and protect their rights while at it! Vote for me, and I assure you that my party and I will do everything in our power to carry through our plans, and lead Fernão into a progressive, brighter future. Thank you very much, and goodnight!"

Viel's speech came on the heels of a blitzing of his campaign in their GOTV operations, with the supporters at his speech given flyers and handouts to spread his campaign's message. His surrogates have been calling into dozens of radio shows to discuss his numerous policy positions, and a large portion of his campaign's war chest has reportedly been coming from donations less than or equal to $20. With little time left in this election, we'll soon see whether Viel can pull it off.

BREAKING NEWS: David Bloom makes final appeal before election
Wake Snapper, Fernão News Network | June 16 2017

Image
David Bloom (pictured) speaks at Central Park in Miliband

- (Miliband, Fernão) David Bloom made his final appeal to the voters of Sarkar. Bloom spoke after Reza Kassem had concluded his speech at the park. Bloom and Kassem had made a point of campaigning in joint appearances throughout the election period. The two joined forces on a whistle-stop tour across Sarkar, so it only makes sense that they would make their final appeals together. Bloom had this to say:

“I'd like to thank everyone who worked on my campaign over the past few weeks. We have an incredible team, and I absolutely could not have done this without you. Regardless of who the victor is when the polls close, this will have been a victory for Fernão and the democratic process. I am reminded of how recently we lived under a dictatorship. For years, the idea of a democratic election and a peaceful transfer of power in Fernão would have been humorous at best. But, together, we have made it a reality.

“I'd like to encourage anyone who has not voted yet to do so. And when you do so, make sure to cast your vote for Reza Kassem and myself. The same goes to prospective all across the country. I cannot stress how important it is that RGA Senators and Mayors be elected. In times when any democratic opposition to the ruling party is considered "obstructionism" it is more important than ever that we remain strong and united! Thank you all, and make sure to vote!”

State of Ferdinand: As Mr. Agramonte settles in on his final day of campaigning, his most ardent supporters distribute pamphlets (door-to-door) while the candidate gives a speech to a crowd of hundreds.

Why should you vote for Leopoldo Agramonte?
It's simple, really. Here are the numerous reasons why you should make the right choice on election night~
Healthcare: Leopoldo has consistently supported market-based solutions for our healthcare system, recreating the efficiency seen in countries like Switzerland.
Religious Freedom: Prayer in public schools should be permitted, and public displays of faith must be protected at all costs.
Crime: The police in Ferdinand need all the help they can get. The death penalty is the best method of deterrence we have available.
Education: Private schools have consistently proven themselves to be superior to public ones. School choice is a necessity for our children.
Energy: The best path to energy independence is right beneath our feet. Poorly-implemented regulations only take away jobs.
Foreign Policy: Fernão will benefit greatly from peaceful relations and trade, but foreign entanglements will damage the country beyond repair.
Taxes: A flat tax will do more to promote job growth in Ferdinand than anything else.
Spending: The government won't learn responsibility until we cut spending down to the very basics.

"It pains me to say that this is the last night of my campaign. To all of you, who have stood by my side since the beginning, I thank you. Your support has done wonders for me. It shows me that this country is ready to embrace the challenges of tomorrow with an open mind. Remember, it does not matter who comes out on top once this is all over. All that matters now is that you participated, you voted, and that is how change occurs. I live by the same ideals that each of you live by; respect, integrity, and honesty. I assure you, this will not be the last you've heard of me. Even if I am bested tonight, the establishment cannot keep us down forever. They will bear witness to the true power of a free people. Once again, I say thank you. Victory is never achieved in a single battle."

"Do not be disheartened by the challenges that life throws at you. Face them with pride and determination, and you will eventually overcome! Think back to Moses and his quest to liberate a chosen people. It would be wise to think that you now carry that burden. Become your own leaders. Have faith in God, even as hardship tears at your soul. There is no doubt that God desired to make this nation great, or else He would not create such a sturdy people as yourselves. As for Alexios Viel, I wish him well. Act not on old grudges and pray that he makes the right choices. If he does not listen to the needs of you all, I will return and set the record straight, for the sake of the nation. Do not forsake the energy that has brought you together, stay true to yourselves and to the Lord. That is the root of good government."

BREAKING NEWS:Shim Seo-Yeon makes final nationwide tour
Wake Snapper, Fernão News Network | June 16 2017

Image
Shim Seo-yeon (pictured) visits Fortaleza

- (Sarkar, Fernão)

After spending the first part of the day with local party activists delivering leaflets, and organising last-minute GOTV campaigns Shim Seo-yeon left her current constituency (Maabara At-Large) and re-joined the national campaign trail.

Shim Seo-Yeon started her day off by visiting the city of Fortaleza and helping Chetan Negarkar’s campaign by joining him on a final leaflet distribution and door-knocking campaign. It is also believed that Seo-Yeon pledged support for the local parties election day GOTV campaign, something the party hopes will boost turnout in crucial working class areas that typically support the RGA.

After leaving Fortaleza Seo-Yeon was then spotted in Sakar 2nd, a seat currently being contested by close friend Reza Kassem, and as in previous election cycles, the senior politician was seen delivering leaflets, knocking on doors and helping provide crucial last minute inspirational speeches to local campaign workers.

In a rather surprising turn of events Shim Seo-Yeon was then seen in Sarkar 1st, currently being contested by Aminah Hadi. It was predicted earlier that the Red-Green Alliance would not put a lot of resources into the seat, but it looks like the RGA is working hard across the country and the presence of senior party members definitely served to energise local party volunteers and staffs.

Seo-Yeon committed the rest of her day to delivering leaflets, knocking on doors and giving interviews to every local TV and radio station in the area to promote the candidature of Aminah Hadi. It is hoped that the frantic campaigning from senior members of the RGA and local campaign activists combined with a last-minute GOTV campaign will increase electoral turnout in key parts of the constituency and give Hadi a chance of providing a shock electoral upset.

FPM Campaign winds down

Cristovao Matos at final campaign event, FD-3

- As the electoral cycle starts coming to a close, the campaign by the Fernão Phalanx Movement which has been a nonstop blitz so far is finally winding down. Cristovao Matos held his final campaign rally today in FD-3, which had a much more informal atmosphere than most of the previous ones. He joked with the crowd and answered a number of questions, as well as speaking in support of mayoral candidate Ulisses Seabra in Fortaleza.

At one point, Matos said, "I'd like to welcome my opponent to the election." *laughter* "At the very least, I'm glad Senator Echeverría woke up and realized that he had to work for your votes, still, I'm not impressed. They say he's trustworthy, but what has he done to prove that? They call me a Fascist, one of those catch-all terms that is meant to scare people away from me. That's one of the last tricks the establishment have, just insult their opposition and hope it goes away, But we're not going anywhere, are we folks?" *cheering*

Matos went on to say the only way that FD-3 could have a real voice in the Senate was to cast off the establishment big-two parties and their cronies and vote for a party that actually listens. He later said, "Did you hear the Civic Union endorsed my opponent? Honestly, I think that's the first thing those two parties have ever agreed on." *laughter* "Seriously though, the FPM is the party that represents your values, and your views. The RGA, the CU, these are big umbrellas built to throw out generics and win elections through ignorance. I don't think you good people are ignorant. I think you will prove all of them wrong when it comes down to the vote."

Final advertisements using soundbites from the rally were placed in newspapers, tv and radio, canvassing campaigns continued throughout the electorate, and a final phone-banking campaign was also held. Vanguard volunteers have set up stalls throughout many municipalities in the electorate and are taking names and addresses of people who want to vote but will have trouble getting to the booths. On the campaign website, widgets are available to find the nearest voting booth to you, and to register for a voting car pool, again organized by the volunteers.

In Fortaleza, Ulisses Seabra holds his final rally and continues his pattern of holding them in the poorest districts. Seabra said, "When you elect your mayor, think carefully about the city you want to live in. Nick Haverkamp's slick, corporate paradise? Chetan Nagarkar's faux socialist dream? We need to stand up for the Fortaleza we want." Seabra's campaign finishes with canvassing, phone-banks and advertisements in local television and radio. Seabra's campaign is also supported, like Matos', by Vanguard volunteers helping to get out the vote.

BREAKING NEWS:Former National Soccer stars in New Guernsey for benefit game

Wake Snapper, Fernão News Network | June 16 2017

Image
Raí (the one in the left) with Ronaldo de Assis Moreira after the match

- (New Guernsey, Fernão)

A team made up of former National soccer stars will play a friendly against veterans of the Municipal soccer team on Thursday on New Guernsey to honor the role of the local populace in helping the ones in need.

The match, which kicks off at 18:30 local time at the municipal stadium, will represent the climax of a day of special events for local children and migrants in and around the orphanages aimed at highlighting the great work and solidarity shown by the residents. The event has been organized by a combination of the local police, the local town hall, the Oliveira Foundation and the Union of Fernao soccer players, and is part of a broader program created by the FIFA.

"This event is our way of honoring the people of New Guernsey for their contribution to the ones in need. It also highlights an ongoing, worldwide humanitarian disaster that persists because of war, poverty or climate change," said Raí.

He added: "The main slogan of the event is ''Sport Welcomes'', and we'll be using this as a hashtag (#SportWelcomes) on social media. This is because sport welcomes everyone, irrespective of where they are from. Sport is something which everyone can participate in and it has the power to make the world better; it is non-discriminatory." Raí concluded: "We are delighted to be working with the great champions of 1996 which contributed to this great nation sport's traditions.

On his final rally, Senator Echeverría is gonna answer all of his voters' questions. He's even invited Senator Matos to the event so he can make his questions too.

Speakers: And now, the RGA's Candidate for the FD-3 Constituency, Senator José Luis Echeverría!

E: Thank you, people of Ferdinand! Don't let my opponent scare you. I've been working day and night to create a new bill that can help all of us, workers of Fernao, achieve a better life. As of now, what has he done for our Constituency, I ask you? What has he done for our nation? *The crowd boos Matos* On the other hand, I literally just left my office after several days of working non-stop for my people! *Cheers*

Now, I'll be receiving all of your questions about my plans for our Constituency.

Nisha Gadhavi holds a rally in the NG-2 constituency

"Hello to everyone here. I am so glad to be campaigning back home in central New Guernsey. As you know I've spent the past term representing you, in Fortaleza, as the Senate minority leader. I have made it my mission to stop the Civic Union when they have aided forces of corruption and deceit. As you know, Priscilla Krishna has tried to elevate a supporter of the old regime to a position of power, and the RGA stopped her in her tracks. In an unprecedented move, the President renominated the very same person, so now I must strive to defeat him again.

In addition, the Civic Union has put forward a standing rules amendment that I have committed to oppose. This amendment will concentrate the President of the Senate's power beyond what would be warranted. I will strive to see this defeated as well.

And, as soon as the ineffective Krishnan administration has approved a sound cabinet, I want to push forward necessary functions of government that have been so ignored. We have housing legislation and funding legislation and legislation of all sorts of progressive goals kept waiting by Civic Union inability to function swiftly. I am your best choice to represent the values we cherish, values not shared by the Senate majority.

My opponent, although likely well intentioned, is politically isolated. As the leader of the minority, I can serve to amplify your voices, to ensure New Guernsey's voices are heard. I want to push forward the people of this constituency, and to stand up to the conservatism of Priscilla Krishnan on your behalf. Let's fight for our Fernão! Thank you."

Senator Matos does in fact attend the rally, but mostly sits in the back and politely lets the actual supporters ask their questions and receive answers. Nearing the end of the rally, Senator Matos is given a microphone. "Before I ask my question, I'd like to thank the Senator for being a good sport. We've had a good campaign and I hope when the voting is done we can all work together for a better Fernão and a better Ferdinand. In any case, my question. Given that the Senator is a backbench member of a major party, how will you be able to be a strong, independent voice for this constituency and it's people? How far can the Senator go, in contravention to his party's leadership, to be a good representative?"

Across Fernão

RGA volunteers spend the last few hours distributing leaflets and hanging up posters across the country before making last minute preparations for the election-day GOTV campaign designed to increase turnout. Sakar 2nd, Sakar 1st, Fortaleza, Ferdinand 2nd and Ferdinand 3rd are they key focus of these last minute efforts, but the campaign is truly nationwide. In addition to the ground game efforts senior RGA politicians like Shim Seo-Yeon flood the airwaves by giving last minute interviews to multiple regional and national newspapers, TV stations and radio stations.

Ritesh Bell records last-minute campaign phone calls across Fernao. He joins RGA staffers in some districts, particularly across Sarkar where he campaigns for David Bloom. He travels to Ferdinand's 3rd district, appearing at a rally for Echeverria. "I really hated the thought of fascists winning," he said.

Official FPM Communique

Earlier today, Former Ambassador Allison Ricardo spoke in favor of electing Chetan Nagarkar to the office of Mayor of Fortaleza. During her speech,
Former Ambassador Ricardo said Fortaleza must "strongly reject the anti-semitic... message of the FPM". This is an egregious, slanderous insult against our party and our movement. Never in our movement's history have we made any statement, committed any action, which could be classified as anti-semitic. The FPM is a welcoming movement where all religions, creeds and backgrounds are accepted. The Jewish people of our nation are a valued part of the foundations of our culture, our history and our future.

We are disgusted and disappointed by this behavior from such a respected individual. We ask the former ambassador to immediately withdraw her remarks and offer a formal apology so that this slander can be put right, and everyone involved can then move on.

BREAKING NEWS: Ricardo doubles down on accusations of anti-semitism against the FPM
Wake Snapper, Fernão News Network | June 16 2017

Image
Fmr. Amb. Allison Ricardo (pictured) condemning the Fernão Phalanx Movement

- (Fortaleza, Fernão) Allison Ricardo, the former Ambassador the United States, has refused to withdraw her accusations of anti-semitism against the Fernão Phalanx Movement. In a press conference in Fortaleza, she further condemned the extremist party:

“The Fernão Phalanx Movement is a far-right party which adheres to fascism and Falangism. It seeks to model tyrants such as Francisco Franco. Its anti-semitism cannot and will not be tolerated in an open and democratic society, something I'd like to think that Fernão aspires to be. Everyday its Blackshirt paramilitary walks the streets of Fernão our country moves further away from that dream. Only two months ago, on Yom HaShoah, we told ourselves "Never Again". We tell ourselves so every year. Never again. It's a statement that has become even more important in recent years, as anti-semitism has risen once more throughout Europe, America, and, as the FPM has tragically proven, Fernão. I refuse to stay silent as fascism reaches our shores. It essential that Fortaleza elect Chetan Nagarkar this election day, or there may not be another if the FPM triumphs.”
