    Image

    Account Name: Collatis
    Occupation: Senator

    Party Position(s):
    Member

    Positions in Government:
    N/A

    Constituency: Miliband
    Political Ideology: Social democracy, internationalism, center-left

    Family: Alia Kassem (wife), two daughters
    Background: Reza Kassem was born to Pakistani-Fernoan parents in 1972. His parents supported the socialist government that took power two years after his birth, and Reza was raised in a mostly irreligious left-wing household. The Kassem family was working class, and Reza grew up in a diverse inner city neighborhood in Fortaleza, alongside Muslims, Christians, and Jews. Reza became the first in his family to attend university when he was accepted into the Royal College of Fortaleza. He graduated with a major in public administration and a minor in religious studies.

    It was shortly after his graduation that civil war broke out in Fernão. Despite the Soetoro regime having been good to Fernão's historically discriminated against Muslim population, Reza had no sympathies for the strongman. Reza temporarily attended law school, but was forced to drop out due to a worsening financial situation. Reza eventually gained work with UNICEF, and worked in various United Nations departments for the next decade. His attempts to draw attention to the worsening situation in Fernão culminated in the failed 2005 ceasefire. Frustrated by the lack of progress, Reza turned to political activism as a means of combating the regime. Reza worked closely with future Senator David Bloom, a leader of the resistance in Sarkar, and is still close with him today.

    After peace was achieved, Reza joined the Red-Green Alliance and was elected Mayor of Miliband in a close election. After completing a full term as mayor, Reza won the by-election to replace the retiring David Bloom as the Senator for Miliband. Reza is a leader of the social democratic wing of the Red-Green Alliance, and is considered to be on the party's soft left.

    Background: Born in Chitrakoot on November 30, 1986, Navin was groomed to be his mother’s heir right from birth. He was tutored by the best educators in the state and his mother worked tirelessly to instill diligence and purpose in her eldest son’s life. She succeeded, and is constantly reminded of her son's drive that has powered him through education and in life. He informed his family that he was gay shortly after his studies were complete. He excelled at an all boys academy for his primary and secondary education, graduating with honors. He attended the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School for Business, earning his Bachelor's degree in Public Administration. He then began and completed his first two years at Harvard Law before deciding the lawyer life was not for him. He returned home to Chitrakoot as the civil war was winding down, and assisted his family where he could.

    He eventually found his way into becoming his mother's chief political adviser, campaign manager, sometimes finance chair, and eventually her Chief of Staff. He worked studiously for his mother and her party, eventually landing the eye of Priscilla Krishnan, his mother's fearsome ally, and became her Chief of Staff upon her election as President.

    Buddha Gonzaga - CTA
    Image

    Account Name: Department of Elections
    Occupation: Career Politician
    Party Position(s):
    N/A

    Positions in Government:
    Former Governor of Ferdinand
    Candidate for Mayor of Fortaleza

    Political Ideology: One-National Liberalism

    Family: Beta Gonzaga (Wife), Babe Gooclave (Daughter)
    Background: Buddha Gonzaga moved unassumingly into Fernão in the wake of the civil war, making a name for himself in local politics across southern Ferdinand by hopping from town to town. Over the course of a couple years, he served as mayor of eleven cities, councillor in twenty-three towns, and president of two-hundred and ninety-seven middle school PTAs, usually covering several at a time. His living of double, triple, and quintuple lives paid off, however, when he made a run to be the third governor of Ferdinand. With his deputy candidate, Betsy Chaos-Ghyon he became the first person to visit every brewery in Ferdinand, and took the governorship with 43% of the vote. During his time campaigning as a surrogate for the Krishnan presidential campaign, he completely forgot that Ferdinand's legislature is part-time, and does not govern for nine out of twelve months. This mistake led to a gross neglect of the state, with basic governing duties quickly devolving to the local level. The state assembly convened an emergency session to impeach Gonzaga and his administration. Buddha Gonzaga is now serving in any number of community clubs in Fortaleza, gearing up for a run to be Mayor.

    Ra'd Kader - Ind.
    Image

    Account Name: Lykens

    Occupation: Staffer

    Positions in Government:
    Parliamentarian of the Senate of Ferñao

    Background: Born to a well to do family of bureaucrats serving the last democratically elected government, Kader and his family fled to the UK upon the ascension of the strongman. His parents again found work as low level bureaucrats and worked to provide for Kader, their only child. Knowing the difficulties of integrating in a new and foreign land, they worked to raise Kader in the most western and British fashion possible. While he eventually learned to speak and read Arabic, his parents made sure his first language was english. He went to well to do schools, excelled in his studies, and worked to make his parents proud. While living in the UK, his family lived close to Westminster, which allowed him to frequent Parliament and observe its proceedings. He became enraptured, and knew what he wanted to do.

    He received a degree in public administration, and dove into the world of parliamentary procedure. He joined an amateur parliamentarian club, worked with the national and international parliamentarians organizations, and became the parliamentarian of any organization which he was a part of and had the position. He became a parliamentary procedure wizard, knowing several parliamentary authorities like the back of his hand. When democracy returned to Ferñao, he joined the newly established Provisional Government, working closely with Indira Tamboli to write rules for the Provisional Legislature as well as the permanent Senate. Working on an interim basis under the Senate Presidency of Emmanuel Carvallo, Kader was officially appointed under Raj Jindal.

    Alemayehu Ayodele (50) - Ind.
    Image

    Account Name: Lykens

    Occupation: Deputy Chief Prosecutor at the Department of Public Prosecutions

    Positions in Government:
    Judge-President Nominee for the District of Federal Claims

    Political Ideology: Ayodele has answered 'no comment' to questions about her adherence to a particular ideology.

    Family:
    Husband, Themba (49)
    Son, Sipho (23)
    Son, Mavuto (20)
    Son, Tiyamike (18)
    Daughter, Lindiwe (13)
    Distant cousin, Barack Hussein Obama (55)

    Background: Born to third generation African Ferñaoans originally from Kenya, Alemayehu Obama was noted for her quick learning abilities and insatiable curiosity. Having been born to a merchant clan, her large family put together enough money to ensure that Alemayehu, Alemay for short, was sent to a prestigious boarding school for young girls in downtown Fortaleza. She thrived there, being boosted by tutors from around the world, establishing contacts with new friend with family in high places, the world seemed in the palm of her hand, until the fire nation attacked the coup that brought the Strongman Soetoro to power occurred. In quick haste, her family began selling off what they could to scrounge up enough money to flee the country, yanking Alemay from her education and her home.

    Heartbroken at the loss of her family's prosperity and her path to a bright future, Alemay worked twice as hard upon settling in Nairobi. Connecting with the even larger Obama Clan situated in Kenya, the Ferñaoan expats set about working to rebuild their fortune, improve the lives of their fellow clan members and villagers, and continue pushing Alemay through school. Sent away to Nairobi to another boarding school, Alemay began to feel a distinct homesickness she did not feel in Fortaleza. Disappointed, she threw herself into embracing her Kenyan heritage and making new friends. She mastered two Bantu languages, Swahili and Zulu, by the time she graduated from boarding school and now felt deep cultural and emotional ties to her new home.

    This extended to wanting to make life better for the Kenyans who toiled under the one party state of the KANU Regime. She did some activist work where she could, always remembering that a single misstep could lead to death or imprisonment. Her father was among those killed in the Wagalla Massacre in 1984, killed after refusing to help execute unarmed Somali men, which lead to an uptick in her activism. She was among those who protested the undemocratic voting systems implemented and against the one party government. When multiparty elections were called, she wholeheartedly supported the Forum for the Restoration of Democracy, and later its splinter group FORD-Asili in the Presidential elections in 1992. She met her husband while working on the campaign.

    In 1994, after securing her law degree, Alemay cut her teeth as a fearsome negotiator between the various paramilitaries and militias fighting against the regime and each other. She worked tirelessly to free POWs, get food and water to isolated villages, evacuate refugees and the like. Sue was backed up by one if the largest umbrella African paramilitaries and experienced great success in her endeavours. After the cease fire, Alemay began working as a local prosecutor for Fortaleza, working diligently to root out corruption and get justice for the people see represented. She was elected as District Attorney for Fortaleza shortly before the 2014 UN intervention and afterwards became a key legal adviser to several up and coming politicians. She was chosen for a spot in the Department of Public Prosecutions by the Attorney General of Fernão and was promoted to Deputy Chief Prosecutor before being nominated for Judge-President of the District for Federal Claims by President Krishnan.

    Leopoldo Agramonte - Civic Union
    Image

    Account Name: Davincia
    Occupation: Senator, Naval officer (previously), CIA-drafted militiaman (previously)

    Party Position(s):
    Vice-Chairperson

    Positions in Government:
    Senator

    Constituency: N/A
    Political Ideology: Social Conservatism, Economic Liberalism

    Family: Sabrina Gaos (wife), Monica (daughter), Lorenzo (son), Guillermo (son), Maximiliano (son)
    Background: Senator Agramonte had the privilege of being born into a wealthy family deep in the countryside of an undeveloped Ferñao. His father ran a plantation that heavily relied on cheap, backbreaking campesino labor, although the history of the farm itself went back centuries. It remains unclear to this day if the family possessing it ever made use of slavery in the past, as the Agramontes are hesitant to say. In any case, Leopoldo grew up with high expectations, and his quick-wits and strong physical characteristics made him a favored child among his dozen siblings. He picked up the tools of the trade early on, although great change had swept his livelihood in 1974. The peasants that worked on the future senator's plantation, inspired by a communist takeover of the nation, seized the farm and forced the Agramontes to take refuge in the United States for many years. They would not return until 1982, where Leopoldo actively participated in the CIA-sponsored coup within various roles. This was also his first exposure to political discourse, mostly originating from US president Ronald Reagan.

    The action that he saw during the conflict was harrowing. Several incursions were made into enemy territory, where valuable targets were frequently assassinated or kidnapped. Rather than return to a quiet life in the rural lands after securing victory, Leopoldo joined the new government's navy and loyally dedicated himself to the strongman which the counterrevolution had installed. He remained a proud follower of the dominant regime throughout the civil war that had been sparked in 1994. It was something of an insult when the United Nations stepped their foot into the war, depriving Leopoldo of the glory he had fought for over the years. He refused to step down from his position under any circumstances. Ultimately, he stood as a prominent figurehead in the Ferñao military for almost two decades more, until his reputation grew to attract several business owners and Christian groups. Despite being a political novice, Leopoldo reluctantly retired from his long naval career to run for the senate, winning by the slimmest possible margin. He tends to speak his mind very openly, drawing forth criticism from the media and adoration from his constituents.

    • "If the security and wellbeing of the people has always been your priority, why did you not publicly denounce the authoritarian dictatorship of the government you so proudly supported?" - "The regime was, for the longest time, the only way to guarantee security for many citizens. I liberated several towns during the civil war, bringing law and order where there was previously looting and violence. My brave compatriots never strayed from their commitment to civilians who were sick or hungry. Keep in mind, a soldier rarely has the luxury to decrease morale through needless criticism."

    Image

    Account Name: Tumbra
    Occupation: Foreign Secretary

    Party Position(s):
    Positions in Government:
    Constituency: N/A
    Political Ideology: Centrism, classical liberalism, internationalism

    Family: Viveka Mittal (wife, b. 1962, m. 1990), 3 children (b. 1991, 1994, 1997)
    Background: Mittal was born in 1957 in Fortaleza, and went to the Anglo-Indian Institution located in that city. Growing up in a time of economic uncertainty, Mittal first read about then-US presidential candidate Ronald Reagan's policies of supply-side economics when he was young, and subsequently adopted that as his political ideology. With his family coming from the ethnically-tense Sri Lanka (then known as Ceylon), Mittal was a firm believer in the power of international politics when he was young. After gaining five 'A' levels in the form of Economics, Literature, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, he went to the London School of Economics and stayed there when the civil war broke out.

    Mittal then entered the financial sector, working for the Rothschilds for a while. Following the end of the civil war Mittal left for Fernao and joined the Foreign Ministry, where he met with Raghav Kshatriya, who was then taking care of his wife. After realising their common political ideologies, they decided to join forces and make Forward Fernao !, a centrist and progressive party. When Alison Ricardo was dropped as nominee for the position of Foreign Secretary by President Priscilla Krishnan, she extended the invitation to Forward Fernao !, with Kshatriya urging Mittal to give the position a go. Now sixty, Mittal looks to be embarking on a new chapter of his life.

    Mr. Agramonte, do you regret being a traitor to your own people by toppling the democratic government and helping to install a foreign imperialist dictatorship? Why should people formerly subject to suppression of their freedom support someone guilty of facilitating this?

    "It is easy to throw around the word 'traitor' without understanding the meaning, is it not? In 1974, the insurgents stole everything I had. It was my duty as a man to acquire the strength necessary to restore both my own belongings and those of thousands of my countrymen. I had no choice but to resist a government of thieves. Not only that, but it was my duty to keep fighting in order to prevent that from ever happening again."

    Olegário D. Alcides - CTA
    Image

    Account Name: NO MOM
    Occupation: Senator

    Party Position(s):
    • Member.

    Positions in Government:
    • Senator.

    Constituency: Town of Bosturengas.
    Political Ideology: Villagization, centerist, communitarianist.

    Family:
    • Spouse: Soares Matos del Salomé.

    Background: Olegário was the son of a wealthy businessman whom ran his clothing and textiles manufacturing operation in the town of Bosturengas, a coastal port town. Though he was not born in the town, due to the need to observe his operation more easily, his family set up shop in the town when Olegário was still but a young child. Living on top of the largest hill in the area, in a luxurious mansion, he found himself rather detached from the much poorer people in the town below. At his deeply Catholic father's insistence, he was homeschooled, not just because he wanted his son to have a higher education than he felt the schools would give him. And thus, when he was 18, he stepped out of the house to promptly buy one for himself.

    He inherited one of his father's factories, and inherited more than half of his fortune as well because he was the only child, but after a big score involving "lots and lots of shady money laundering" as well as some completely unsubstantiated claims of partaking in drug-running, he found that he didn't need to run a business. In his spare time after his mid-thirties, he took over some sugar farms overseas and made spare money after that, until a friend convinced him to get into politics in his early fifties. Using some connections, he steadily worked up for a few years until entering the CTA party as a member of the Senate.
    Faith: Catholic.

    Likes: The idea of a simple, peaceful life. Cigars, Cuban of course.
    Dislikes: Fascists, neocons.
