The MiG 21AN-1A Red Hawk upgrade provides modifications to the cockpit configuration, avionics architecture and weapons systems. The Red Hawk cockpit features a new pilot-friendly layout, incorporating a head-up display (HUD), eye-level multifunction colour displays, hands on throttle and stick control (HOTAS), solid-state charge coupled device (CCD) camera, videotape recorder, and one-piece windshield.

The avionics system is based on Atok Aerospace's integrated modular avionics architecture, which uses a centralised mission and display processor, developed by Atok Aerospace with the cooperation of Miguelsson Aviation System. In addition, the use of a new inertial navigation and global positioning system (INS/GPS) and air data computer ensures increased navigation and weapons-release accuracy.

3-D Multi-function Mobile Radar ML1834 MORAD is a multi-function mobile 3D C-Band radar that employs an Active Electronically Scanned Antenna (AESA), hosted in a full standard 6x6 truck equipped with autonomous power supplying, temperature conditioning, loading and unloading means for high mobility. ML1834 MORAD successfully accomplishes coastal surveillance, point defence, gap filling and co-ordination of SAM systems. ML1834 MORAD automatically schedules and performs the activity classified as priority according to the tactical scenario by scanning the beam both in azimuth and elevation while mechanically rotating in azimuth at 60rpm.

ML1834 MORAD supports the following main tasks:
