What is the TET Thread for? I have never utilised this before.

Back in the day threads would often run their course with small talk which wasn't really spammy but it usually didn't add much to the discussion, so the mods decided to pull up a megathread to coalesce all the small talk (just tracked them starting the TET in October 24th 2011 when Dread Lady Nath was still a mod).
And before my time apparently there was an eternal thread from the year of 2003

I guess it's big talk now.

These days we actually manage to keep a TET going for a month before a new one is needed, a few years ago it was pretty much impossible to have a proper conversation in the TETs of those days because of all the hyperactive kids giddily spamposting with licentious abandon. A faction within the moderators managed to gain enough power to cut TET's throat for a while, but that apparently came with side effects which have never been openly discussed with the populace. So TET was restarted and has continued to be an integral part of NationStates General.

Those were strange days, because suddenly you had a group of NationStates General regulars who had been robbed of their regular place of gathering. Quite a few decided to just stay away, and that also influenced the dynamics of other NationStates General threads for some strange and unexplained reason.

Shirt stories are disappointing, since shirtless men are the best men - according to my English professor this last semester.

If shirt stories are actually a literary genre, I'm not familiar with it.

heh, I recall when the pony megathread was disbanded and there was nothing but "pls reopen thread" on posters flags and sigs as far as the eye could see. Even TG's spread around about it.

heh, I recall when the pony megathread was disbanded and there was nothing but "pls reopen thread" on posters flags and sigs as far as the eye could see. Even TG's spread around about it.
