The Novonaya & Provinsk Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games (NOVPROVOC) thanks the community for entrusting the twelfth edition of the Summer Olympics to us, and invites the youth of the multiverse to the countries of Kelssek and Vekaiyu. All are welcomed to participate in this festival of sport by submitting a sign-up in accordance with the instructions below. May the Games be simultaneously the expression and manifestation of the spirit of global peace, unity and cooperation.
SIGNUP INSTRUCTIONS
Copy the event list below and enter the names of your athletes as shown in the example below, with your delegation's three-letter code and a skill modifier separated by semicolons. Each entry must be on its own, single line. All signups must use this format for event names. Yes, it's supposed to say "RugbySevens" for the purposes of the signup process. Please do not modify the event names in any way. Specially trained pythons will process the signups and they will ignore blanks, but for the convenience of humans it is ideal to remove the names of sports and events you are not submitting an entry for.
A downloadable spreadsheet is available to help with calculations (.ods format tested with OpenOffice Calc; .xls format which seems to have worked for at least one MS Excel user).
Again, please do not alter the line with the event name on it, or your sign-up may be processed incorrectly.
Fencing–Women’s Individual Épée (3)
Arya Stark;ABC;60
Volleyball–Men’s Beach (2 teams of 2)
Kevan Lannister/Jamie Lannister;ABC;40
Joffrey Baratheon/Stannis Baratheon;ABC;15
Volleyball–Women’s Indoor (1 team)
Alphabetian Republic;ABC;35
The brackets next to the event name specify the maximum number of entries to that event per delegation. You may, of course, enter fewer than this number.
- Individual events have just a single number like (2). You should give the name of the participating individual.
- If a team event specifies a particular team size (1 team of 4), you must give the names of the team members, separated by slashes.
- If a team event just says something like (1 team), simply enter the name of your country or delegation. The names of the team members may be specified in a roster thread which will be opened soon. Posting rosters counts as roleplaying.
To discourage the practice of "min-maxing" (entries made up of lots of 0s and 100s), all signups whose skill modifiers have a standard deviation below 30 will be given a small bump to their cumulative RP bonus. Small delegations (those with 50 entries or less) will get the min-max avoidance bonus regardless of their actual standard deviation.
Demonstration events are not counted in the skill average. By the same token, there are no skill average limits for demonstration events.
DEMONSTRATION EVENTS: ENTRIES AND PROPOSALS
Underwater hockey is already on the demonstration event slate, but up to three additional demonstration sports (possibly consisting of multiple events) may be considered for inclusion at the hosts' discretion, and depending on the level of interest and the ability to generate results for them using xkoranate. Propose and include entries for them at the end of your signup, and visibly separate them from your entries for medal events. To show interest in events, signup for the demonstration events proposed by others.
Participant count as of July 4
Cycling (track): 4
Baseball/Softball: 12
Underwater hockey: 8
T20 Cricket: 6
ENTRY LIMITS AND DEADLINES
- Users entering one delegation: no limits other than those specified per event.
- Each user may enter up to two delegations with an overall limit of 700 entries, and the puppet must be declared.
- Unified teams will be treated as if they were a single user with a single delegation.
LOGO VOTING
At the end of your signup post, you may also vote for Logo 2 or Logo 3 (Logo 1 has been withdrawn). The winner will be used as the logo for the Games.
