The Office of the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs
On Behalf of Her Majesty the Queen
The Dangish Empire
Regarding hosting embassies within the Dangish Empire
Dear Sir/Madame,
On behalf of Her Majesty's Government, I would like to invite the Ambassadors and High Commissioners of the world to the Dangish Empire to help improve diplomatic relations for the future. In these difficult times, dominated by news of fascism, economic downturn and death, it is important that we, as the great nations of the world, listen and work to maintain our peace.
The Dangish Empire would like to be at the forefront of this movement away from war, and towards peace. The first step, we believe, is to welcome the representatives of the people of the world to the greatest city on this planet, New London, the capital of the Dangish Empire, to represent their nations and by extension their people.
Attached is the basic information about the Empire that one ought to know, as well as an application form which is compulsory for all applicants. We have also included basic information about Dangish law, especially in regards to diplomatic missions.
Yours sincerely,
The Right Honourable George Hague M.P.
Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs
Politics & National Information
Many people get confused about the terms "Dungeyland" and the "Dangish Empire". Dungeyland refers to the dominion of "Dungeyland" - originally the only dominion in the Dangish Empire, but now one of seven. The Dangish Empire refers to the united government of these seven dominions into one imperial federation, and is the correct term to use when referring to this nation.
The Dangish Empire is an imperial federation, with a constitutional monarchy and parliamentary democracy. The Queen, Ellen I, is head of state, but hold little power in practice. The President, Lord Clarke, is Head of Government and essentially is the national leader of the Empire.
Her Majesty's Government, led by Lord Clarke, is based in the Imperial Parliament, in Eastminster. The Imperial Parliament has two houses, elected by the people on an irregular basis. The party commanding a majority in the Commons is granted the right to form a government. Both houses cannot function without the other.
The Dangish Empire is multilingual, and there are four official languages: English, German, Latin and Dangish. In the various dominions, there are several unofficial languages. Dangish law is based upon common law, set by the rulings of judges in the past.
Embassies
All embassies, unless specially requested by a trusted nation, will be located in the capital of New London. There are several locations, ranging from new Her Majesty's Airport to central New London. Embassies will take the form of detached buildings or apartments, and will be protected by our best security forces.
In case of emergencies, there will be a direct line to the President and to the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, in addition to other obvious phone numbers. Embassies will be connected to high-speed Wi-Fi, and Her Majesty's Government will cover the cost for improvements, within reason.
Embassy land will be under the jurisdiction of the Dangish Empire, but special privileges will be afforded. These will be determined on a case-by-case basis. The Dangish Empire will reserve the right to declare a persona non grata, and other privileges afforded by the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Rights.
Consulate-generals
The Dangish Empire, as a federation, is open to the creation of consulate-generals in the various dominions. These will have the same rights as embassies, however, they cannot exist without a main embassy in New London.
