The fall of the Castillian National Socialist State was a blow to Dienstad that seemed irreversible as their now former homeland has now become a 'People's Government' likely under the People's Unified Federation. Under the Mokan Occupational Council, it seemed that all of the work done to improve the Castillian homeland and that of Castleclose was being undone and that the once strong Castillian people were now being underminded and completely oppressed by the People's Unified Federation and it's new puppet government in Castille. However throughout the occupation and even before, those within the Castillian National Socialist government were able to flee from their would be occupiers and find sanctuary within the Ordenite State and Nation. Chancellor J.Oswald Vaughn and Castillian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oliver Markham have been made as the heads of state of the newly formed Castillian National Socialist State in exile. While Castillian Director of the Office of Racial Affairs, Stephen Cussler has been announced as the new Minister of the Ministry of the Castillian People in the Reich. Which is now a new internal ministry to the CNSS in exile to keep up with the affairs and needs of the now 6 million Castillians who were able to flee to the Reich.

The People's Government of Castille de Italia will not be recognized as a lawful government in charge of the Castillian state. Instead the CNSS in exile will be considered the lawful government body in charge of the Castillian state and People.

ANTIETAM, Castille de Italia — The Economic Revitalization Act passed through the Upper Legislature today of the Parliament, with 96 Parliamentarians in support of the bill with four in opposition. It comes one day after it passed through the General Assembly almost virtually unopposed, with 498 Parliamentarians in favour there with only two in opposition. Premier Henry J. Adams signed off on the bill at Mountbatten Manor this afternoon, making the bill law.

The bill consisted mainly of the sell-off of numerous previously state-owned entities under the former Castillian National Socialist State. Of the companies listed, they are almost exclusively from the natural gas and petroleum industry. The Commerce Secretariat will oversee the auction of the companies, most notably that of the Castillian Global Petroleum Corporation, which almost monopolized the industry under the former government. The Energy Secretariat will transfer control of all facilities to the highest bidder, and all public employees will become employees of whatever company buys it out.

We were able to speak with Secretary of Energy William Major, who told us that "the auctioning will be closely monitored by the People's Government, and that will not be open to foreign companies."

Who does that leave the bidding up to then? Well under the former Castillian National Socialist State, Chancellor Vaughn fostered a large group of oligarchs, billionaires who financed the regime through selling weapons through the black market, slave labor at home and abroad, illicit narcotics trading, and other shady and immoral commerce. It is widely predicted that these oligarchs, all of whom mostly stayed in the country and received immunity through the People's Government, will be the bidders.

We collected a list of some of these oligarchs, along with some brief information and how they accumulated so much wealth.

Harvey Hershey, 37
Hershey began his rise to the Castillian elitist echelons back in 2014, during Vaughn's rise to power. Seeing the major momentum his cause had, Hershey financed through his aviation firms revenue much of the National Socialist Castillian Worker's Party campaign in the 2014 emergency elections in the short-lived Castillian Federation. After he seized power, Vaughn ensured that Hershey and Hershey Aviation received some high-profile government contracts and found himself among the Chancellor's social circle. Hershey Aviation now intends to buy out Trans-Castillian Airways as well as the Castillian National Aeronautics Firm.
Cameron Compton, 41
Compton also was a major financier of the Party in the early days of the regime, and through the billion-dollar drug trade he had built in conjunction with the Mokan Montana family under the guise of a multinational pharmaceutical corporation, and in return for his support, Compton received protection for his drug trade from the SS itself. Compton Pharmaceuticals intends to buy out Preston State Medicine, which was most notable for being the same company Patient Zero of the Castillian Blood Fever outbreak of 2015 began in Port Mackenzie.
Susan Teichmann, 54
Teichmann, a woman of extreme class and etiquette, ran several high-profile bathouses and underground brothels in the capital of Antietam, which were frequented by a large number of government officials during the Vaughn regime. For a country that enforced morality laws, Teichmann made a killing through her regime-sanctioned sex industry, and now intends to buy the Castillian Central Broadcasting Service, which was the main propaganda wing of the former Ministry of Information. Through newly passed media laws, Teichmann will be free to publish as she pleases.
Harold Dunston, 74
Dunston, the favorite industrialist of Chancellor Vaughn, found himself in Vaughn's economic inner circle by directly fueling the Castillian war machine with his position at the helm of the Castillian Global Petroleum Corporation, a conglomerate of state-owned petroleum companies for which he served as Chairman. Dunston is expected to buy out the firm and make drastic expansions to the company under the Economic Revitalization Act, which included several eminent domain clauses, revoking thousands of square miles of private land to build gas fields and pipelines.
Daryl Cavanaugh, 48
Cavanaugh found himself in charge of the former regime's slavery industry as the Director of the National Detention and Labor Administration, which oversaw the use of political prisoners, racial and ethnic detainees, heretics, and other "undesirables" to assist the Citizen's Workforce in massive public works, as well as the contracting out of slave labor abroad. Cavanaugh was tried in a Mokan military tribunal for crimes against humanity, but insufficient evidence found him innocent of all charges. Cavanaugh is now suing the Mokan Federation, but also intends to buy out the Castillian Prisons Service, which was a state-owned monopoly of the prison-industrial complex. He is also the younger brother of James Cavanaugh, the new Secretary of the Treasury.

It seems that the levels of corruption in this postwar, post-dictatorial Castille de Italia has not subsided. While there has been substantial growth in terms of social reform and welfare, it seems that the People's Government will be simply a puppet government for oligarch billionaires to push their economic interests and accumulate more wealth. Whether the Premier, Henry J. Adams, will use the oligarchs to finance another regime of terror is yet to be seen, the fact that these oligarchs still wield massive influence in the new government despite their former ties to the old regime is undeniably hideous and disgusting.

Free Dienstadi Press as an investigative journalism group will remain firmly committed to exposing corruption in Castille de Italia and its new government, and we call for a repeal of the Economic Revitalization Act, or allowing foreign investment in the Castillian markets. To allow these oligarchs more power in the new democracy is irresponsible and wrong.

Minutes ago, an explosion tore through an Osaka downtown office building owned by The Sōma clan. No information is available yet, but it is suspected an explosive device was detonated in the main lobby on the ground floor.

Police and firefighters are converging on the scene as locals help evacuate wounded. Local security is either helping victims or attempting to protect victims from another attack with swords and guns drawn. No word on casualties yet, but this story is still developing.

The Soma Trade Tower is owned by the Sōma clan, a powerful Nifon gunbastsu in the Catan region of the Queendom. The Sōma clan does possess their own militia, which means whoever is behind these attacks might have instigated the wrath of a dangerous foe.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks yet, but reporters are on the scene waiting to hear any official information.

UPDATE ONE:

It is confirmed that 12 people were killed in the blast and another 32 were wounded. The building was immediately evacuated by fire escapes and a police escort. National Police set up a three block perimeter around the building and emptied the streets. Given the threat of secondary explosive, A police airship set up a window bridge between the roof of a nearby office building and the 38th floor of The Soma Trade Tower to assist in evacuations.

Bomb squads did not find a secondary device. Police and Paramedic forces rushed the wounded to Date
Memorial Hospital.

Federal State votes to keep Tatom, but President Diego of Mejico vetoes succession.

Earlier this week, the Senate passed Emergency Resolution 453.12D, otherwise known as “The Tatom Resolution”. In it, the bill states that in the event of a successful separation between Tatom and Mejico, that Tatom would still be considered Federal Territory, and its governance will fall to the Federal government. The bill also states that the PUF would consider granting the currently elected government of Tatom the ability to petition for full membership if it is granted independence.

While that looks good on the Federal level, the story on the National level is looking grim.

Initially things were optimistic, with Mejican Parliament voting 104 to 47 to allow the dissolving of relations, with 25 members abstaining from the vote, more than any abstained vote in Mejican history. This meant the bill passed with two thirds of the voting population, but not a full two thirds of Parliament, which would be 119 of the 178 total votes. However, this vote was vetod by President Pablo Diego(Mejico). Diego cited recovery efforts, the need for national unity, and for every Parliamentarian to weigh in as the reason behind his veto. This would also be the first time a Mejican President pushed a veto to make more members of Parliament vote on an important bill. As such, the Arizona and California representatives pushed for an override of the veto, but to overturn the veto it would require the full two thirds of Parliament, or the full 119 votes.

The Second Vote was tense, going late into the night with many votes splitting down part lines and rumors of threats of violence between Representatives. It is believed that the members of The People’s Party(ARP) mostly voting in favor of the dissolution, while the Liberal Party(OLP) rallied around their President’s decision and voted nay. The Socialist Worker’s Party(SWP) is also believed to have voted against the veto because the new nation of Tatom would bring almost no Socialist Worker's Party members to Federal Parliament. In the end, the veto failed by only one vote, 118 of the 119 required, with 4 abstaining. As such, the Peaceful dissolution of Tatom from Mejico failed.

After the vote, the Mejican Representatives from Arizona and California walked out from the Mejican Capital Building. Throwing insults at the abstaining voters and numerous members of Parliament. Additional Representatives walked out as well, giving messaged to the press. Eva Kuzzano(ARP), Mejiconorto gave this chilling warning:
"The Tatomese have played by the rules, and asked to leave the Mejican Republic, as is their right. They fought hard and earned it, and had it not been for President[of Mejico] Diego, they would be celebrating tonight. Instead we were one vote short of overturning a useless veto. If we cannot give the Tatomese freedom peacefully, why should they continue to be peaceful? The Federation should step in to secure their freedom before someone does something stupid."

Unofficial President of Tatom, Alejandro Tennet(COP) Arizona, gave this statement: "It is a shame what the President did. A damn shame. He knew what we wanted, and the majority approved of it, but President Diego was in the right place to stop it. A damn shame. I'll tell you what, the Tatomese government has not given up, we will continue to fight for Tatomese independence. If any event cemented the need for our independence, it was tonight."

Police all across Mejico will be on high alert tonight, as major public outcry is expected.

Ebonaervon, Itailia(Herald) — For the last nearly two weeks, perhaps one of the most interesting political scandals and trials has captivated the media both inside the capital, and around the entire empire, as the disgraced Director of the ITO Sextus Mucius Philo has stood trial for more then seventeen charges, now amended to include five more, which range from racketeering to fraud and embezzlement on a felony scale; along side him, all 5 Under Director of the Office, as well as 21 other individuals of varying positions of varying importance, all whom are being tried in separate trials, which is proving for a very long application of the justice process.

The last twelve days have mostly overseen the playing out of what many judicial experts and analysts would call "pre-trial tactics"; junctions, orders, delay tactics, filing of extensions, etc. However, the last four days have actually seen the beginning of the trial, mostly with opening statements, initial presentations of some key evidence, as both the State's prosecutors nd the defendant's lawyers paint pictures that tell their side of the story. Today was bound to be host to at least some court room drama, as while the press ban (no cameras, recording devices, etc.) was in effect, we were still able to be sit in and hear as Mr. Philo himself was set to take the witness stand and give testimony in his defense. Apparently, in a court room bomb drop, Mr. Philo revealed when examined by the state's prosecutor that he wasn't the man in charge of this illicit crime ring, rather he was "nothing more then a front man tossed with the leader's hat to be able to take the fall instead of the proper man who has committed these crimes."

He doesn't deny he was complicit in the committing of the crimes, but rather that the State has the entire thing wrong about him running the affair. Rather, according to the disgraced Director, he was approached by none other then Secretary of the Treasury Kaeso Fabricius Pansa; Philo alleges that Kaeso approached him not five months after he had appointed Philo to the job some six years ago, and informed him of the ring and how it kept all the "appropriate men appropriately compensated". He tried to back his way out of the arrangement, but alleges Kaeso threatened to blackmail him into ruin if he didn't comply, and that the men under him were already aware and complying, and even developing it to be better, this crime ring.

Naturally, the testimony brought outcry from the audience, and the defense's own lawyers who were not aware of an apparent communication between their client and the state. The presiding judges called for an approach, where it was reported after the trial today that the State revealed they had negotiated a deal with Mr. Philo for him to testify and reveal the men above him in this ring, which they suspected existed after reviewing files seized following the massive arrest raid last week. The chief presiding judge, Decus Merenius Sunuso, who is a 28 year veteran of the field on hundreds of cases, has called for a 2 day recess to review new information being submitted, and for allowing for a "re-arrangement of the defense and the state to ensure proper charges have been filed."

No comment has been issued from the Treasury Secretary's office, nor police forces inside the capital, the Secretary's home town or the Justicars, however reporters from this paper were able to verify from you that several agents from the Justicars office here in downtown had paid a visit to every Treasury, and subsequent under-department, office within the capital, and possibly other major cities. Funnily enough, the only comment mentioned by the Treasury at all today was in a early morning press release they held with much clamor and report, as they announced the formal admission of the Empire into the Greater Dienstad Financier’s Guild, stating that the negotiation had been underway by both diplomatic and economic sources within and without the Empire for the past three to four years, and today marked a day of grand emotion for both sides. Deputy Secretary Cinuso was on hand to take questions and deliver the statement, which included adding that the GDFG would be setting up shop in the abandoned Pareti di Avorio Palazzo, which was formerly home to the Count of Ortessia but was vacated and remanded to the state upon the former's incarceration for corruption six years ago, in which time the some 7,000 square foot estate in the outskirts of the capital has sat vacant.

Eras of Antiquity: An Anthropological Study of Greater Dienstad
Chapter Three, Cultural Geography of the Chalcolithic

The period from 9000-8000 BCE saw the population of most of modern Dienstad as the use of farming was spread through the expansion of Protonatuls and neighboring tribal groups. The Protonatuls established the Mokan cultural sphere, which encompassed the Moka-Natul and the Coltamoka. The Natuls established a series of permanent villages in the center of the Ultima Supercontinent. Organized bands of the Moka-Natuls people expanded into Ultima and forced the Early Coztics, the Boli, and the Protothema out of their traditional lands. Coltamokans, on the other hand, adopted the farming techniques more quickly that their western neighbors avoided. This was, in part, due to the early arrival of the Chalcolithic in eastern Ultima. The Moka-Natuls and the Coltamoka could clear away dense rainforests using copper tools, while other groups struggled to compete for space. This period of transition began in earnest in 9500 BCE when the western half of the greater Ultima plate started slipping back into the ocean. The central Ultimate mountains lost altitude and were greatly cooled through geothermic activity. The non-Mokan people could cross those mountains in great numbers. Remaining non-Mokans were absorbed into the great Moka-Natual cultural sphere, though they retained some of their tribal names in modern Mokastana.

The Late Coztic, while they adopted some copper tools, were much slower to cross the divisional mountains of Ultima. By the time they did cross, the Boli had populated much of the northwest. The large number of technologically advantaged Coztics, however, almost drove the Boli to extinction before the Boli discovered their own sources of copper.

Circa 5000 BCE, the first sailors crossed the ocean between Ultima and the Theohuanoolian Continents. These sailors were composed of both Perubazhi and Early Themisi, but created a common culture at sea through trade and interbreeding. Panthoolians, representing the settled descendants of both cultures, were unrivaled in their domination of Theohuanooly. The relatively small distance between Theohuanooly and Oxidania was crossed with greater alacrity, but also produced a substantial cultural split between the post-Panthoolian populations. Latins settled around a large, inland sea with a Mediterranean climate, while the Germano-Umbrians lived on northern lowlands. The obvious distinction came between the fishing Latins and the farming Germano-Umbrians. The Latins and Panthoolians remained almost synonymous for several centuries, but volcanic activity in the trans-continental straits made the seas more dangerous and steadily increased the distance. The Panthoolians were also able to domesticate several species of Bison, which substantially reduced their naval presence.

Thus, by the close of the Chalcolithic era, the region was at least nominally populated by one of nine distinct cultural spheres. These spheres, of course, carry with them many subgroups and only diversify over time. This timeline, however, gives a general understanding of how the three supercontinents came to be populated and the distinctions between the peoples who did so. During the Bronze Age, technology became more equally distributed while linguistic and cultural differences were sharpened. The rise of city-states, also generally distributed within the nine cultural sphere, brought about the expected populated booms of large-scale agriculture and domestication.

A controversial new study was published by a Finium archeology journal by an unnamed author. How has it fared in the academic world of ideas? "Absolute trash," says Professor Guden Faal. "It is absolutely devoid of factual content," he continued. "The errors made on Panooly and Theohuanacan prehistory are atrocious. Even an eight-year-old child should know better."

According to Faal, "The amount of posited continental drift is laughably moronic We know this from archeological and documentational evidence, because the ancients shared common shores and rivers to us. A map of the world during the early Bronze Age would be incredibly recognizable to us today. Shores have, of course, receded and expanded over time, and the exact coastal geography is always ever changing, but no, the geography of Holy Panooly and Theohuanacu looked very, very similar to what it does today. It is, at least, more similar to today's geography than it is than the imaginary geography of this so-called 'scientist."

Furthermore, this study contradicts decades of research from not only Macabean universities, and the independent universities of the Kríerstaton era, but also those of Theohuanacu and Holy Panooly, as well. "The evidence is independently verifiable and peer reviewed," said Professor Nuhatl, an archeologist at the Polytechnic of Tlaloc. "This study's history is so off the mark that one wonders whether it was written by a high school drop out with so little ambition in life that he dedicates his days to killing as many other peoples' brain cells as possible," he went on to say. "Because the fact is, and the evidence is overwhelmingly in favor, that the original settlers of Theohuanacu were the Plánol people. In fact, there was no migration of Mokan-Natul people to Holy Panooly or Theohuanacu, and we know that not only from the evidence but also from common sense, since the distances involved would make that migration impossible. And let me also make clear that were were no such thing as "Latins," "Germanic-Umbrians," "Themisi people," or any other of the countless imaginary cultural groups cited by this study, not in this area of the world. It's sad, because the names are not even creative."

"That's right," Professor Nuhatl finished, "this study is not only fake, but it was written by a simpleton who lacks basic knowledge of the area's prehistory."

Asked whether the paper would make the rounds in the universities of central Greater Díenstad, both professors shared a similar opinion. "The author doesn't even know the difference between Greater Díenstad and Díenstad," answered Professor Faal, "why would any one take this garbage seriously?" Nuhatl, who was evidently red-faced, said only, "No, it wasn't even interesting to read, let alone informative."

The timeline of human populations begins much earlier and is much more varied than Finian scholars are comfortable describing. Obviously, protohuman species like homo erectus, homo sapiens, and others existed in various conclaves around the region. The collapse of the Ultima super-continent, however, has the best available archaeological record. The western coast of Mokastana in particular has a near-perfect sedimentary differentiation by era that demonstrates the daily lives of the Natuls. The Moka-Natuls, a term Finians have applied with the meaning earliest known human culture with widespread use of copper tools, should not be confused with the tribal subgroup Natul that conquered much of ancient Mokastana. Indeed, many of the names selected for use borrow from the Mokan tribal pantheon--their relationship to prehistoric and pre agricultural societies are, at best, tangential. Yet, names are required, and thus names are assigned. Based on major sites on the Mokan coast and extending into modern Bazh, similarities in sediment, pottery, and architecture have lead Finians to establish a near irrefutable link between the Moka-Natul and the later people of Bazh. The Themisi and Perubazh are two distinct peoples that lived in west Ultima/modern Bazh during the Chalcolithic. There is a gradient of cultural artifacts discovered moving from east to west across Bazh that slowly distinguishes the Moka-Natul from the Themisi and the Perubazh. This difference is most strongly pronounced in the style of domiciles constructed. Whereas the east coast of Bazh and the west coast of Tallitlac (roughly the same region once occupied by the divisional mountains of Ultima) demonstrate pronounced use of adobe and mud bricks. The opposing coast of Bazh, however, has relatively few buildings of that style and instead demonstrate an adoption of hunter-gatherer homes. The disassembled remains of tents and very few larger buildings are prominent in the forested regions of northern and southern Bazh, but the Wanderjaran deserts separate the twin peoples.

The spread of both the Themisi and the Perubazh was, for the most part, inconsequential to the indigenous tribes of Bazh. However, in the period between 9000-8000 BCE, the Late Coztics crossed Ultima in the north, close on the heels of the Boli. The Late Coztics brought copper tools with them, borrowed principally from their Moka-Natul cousins. This is confirmed in the commonality of early farming techniques across the former Ultimate continent. Copper was mined almost exclusively in the extreme east of the region until the Late Coztics crossed the continent and brought both cultivation and metugulary with them. The distinction between the Themisi, Perubazh, and indigenous nomads becomes pronounced almost overnight in historical terms. The Themisi and Perubazh shared enough linguistic heritage with the Late Coztics to trade for copper and/or learn their sciences. In turn, the population explosion of the late 8th millennium drove other, lesser peoples to extinction or assimilation. Few records still exist, therefore, of any cultures not at least indirectly related to the Moka-Natul. It is important to note that the Themisi and Perubazh are very different from modern Themis or the Peru of Mokastana rather, these ethnological groups are genetically related to their Moka-Natul cousins closely enough to trace their migrations. Their pictograms are objectively dissociated from other people's’ allowing archaeologists classify them as a homogenous body of ethnic and cultural origin. Under different names, the same precursors have been consistently identified across eastern Dienstad ^[1].

The passage of metal tools from east to west is not merely a coincidence of linguistic commonalities; technology spread as a result of geological shifts that made voyages realizable at a previously unimagined scale. The passage of the Late Coztics across Ultima is merely one example of the rapid changes that wrought havoc on the prehistoric world. A period of volcanic activity unparalleled had three principal impacts that have forever changed the ecology and geography of the region: (i) the collapse of the three supercontinents, (ii) a general rise in sea levels, and (iii) the fracturing of the Kember-Thornburgh tectonic plate. All three are, of course, intimately related to one another, but each had its own unique impacts on early humans.

The Kember-Thornburgh plate is a theoretical oceanic tectonic plate that existed for roughly thirty million years. Glaciers in west-central Ultima began to divide the landmass in two. Caught between two large ridges, the glaciers drove north and south and carved an enormous valley. Water filled the valley behind the glaciers, heated by the dormant volcanoes that had originally formed the mountains. The further the glaciers progressed, the faster they moved, forcing Bazh and Tallitlac apart as they progressed. As Bazh slipped steadily towards its neighbor--the Theohuanoolian continent--it forced Theohuanooly steadily away. This occurred, of course, on a geologic time scale over ten to fifteen million years. In the early stone age, however, the Ultimate glaciers finally slipped into the sea, draining away the interim inner sea. By coincidence, and misfortune for the Moka-Natuls, the central volcanoes of Ultima became active at the same time. In fact, volcanic activity increased tenfold during the stone age. Gouts of greenhouse gasses released from Ultima quickly melted glaciers across the region. Sea levels increased several inches a year until they reached a level just under modern ones. Rising sea levels and a seriously damages tectonic plate created the contemporary archipelago over the course of human antiquity. Only twenty percent of the surface area of the pre-neolithic world still exists today. Most of the region’s land mass was either reclaimed by the ocean or created during the late stone age by volcanic activity.

It is possible that other ancient cultures were lost during this period of transition, or that records of them have simply been lost. But in any case, the dominant linguistic and technological influence of the early bronze age was the Moka-Natul. They survived and flourished across the newly created archipelago and their later cousins in Panooly are the birthplace of some of the greatest city-states of the ancient era.

Protest at the Docks

It seems environmentalist from here and abroad are becoming more aware of the practices used by the group self titled "The Sea Hunters". A very large group, composed of various people from around Greater Deinstand, appeared 2 weeks ago and protested for a week on Pier 9 (H), which is one of the piers specially designated and equipped to service the Sea Hunters ship, these belonging to Sealgair Incorporated, a leading consortium of hunters of various kinds that peruse creatures on land, sea and air. The protesters objected to the hunting methods and killing of the kraken, a sub species of giant squid that can grow over a 100 feet and are territorial and have been know to attack and damage, sometimes severely, ships, but as a whole the species is confined to the deep waters and Blood Sea.

The protesters gathered on the docks initially in an attempt to sabotage and stall the preparation of the Sea Hunter's ship for an upcoming hunt, until they were politely but very firmly escorted from the area by the crews of the ship and dock workers, with minimal injures to either side and only a minimal disruption to the ongoing operation on the docks. Restraining orders were placed on the protesters and they were forbidden from re-entering any of the facilities. Despite this, they continued protest outside of the facility and make a general nuisance of themselves, though for a good cause they claimed.

The environmentalist claimed that them methods used to peruse and kill the kraken beasts were too harsh and cruel and not even needed. The leaders of the protesters, a man and woman called Greene and Peace, respectively, said "The kraken is a lovely and peaceful beast best left alone in its natural habitat. We are the problem disturbing its home with our pollution and noisy ships. And then we have the audacity to hunt and kill these amazing creatures claiming that they are a threat to humans and our polluting ships. And then to add insult to injury these...these....Hunters turn around and make huge profits off killing these innocent creatures in such a bloody and horrific manner. Down with dirty capitalist system that rapes and destroys our precious environment." The leaders went on to sight various issues with there hunting methods, including the massive spikes mounted all over the hunter ship's hulls stating that "..they were pointless,dangerous to sea life, and made the ships look intimidating...", there use of depth charges and other underwater explosive devices, the massive harpoons and finally the large caliber main guns mounted on the hunter's ship, these guns range from 5 inch cannons on the smaller destroyer sized ships up to 8 inch ones on the larger cruiser sized vessels. This last item in particular, seemed to infuriate the assembled environmental activist even more, with them claiming "...there is no need for anyone or any corporation to possess guns of this size and power..."

A spokes man for Sea Hunters responded to the protesters accusations about the ships armament. He stated that the "Spikes were necessary for preventing the kraken from seizing the ships with there tentacles and also why the hulls and structures of hunter ships have odd contouring of the hulls...even the structures of the ships are different from regular vessels. The keels and ribs are reinforced and they are armored far more than regular ships." In regards to the depth charges and other explosive underwater ordnance "...they are necessary for driving the creatures to the surface so they can be harpooned which are necessary for landing these creatures." In regards the large caliber cannons often found mounted on the ship the spokes man gave a sardonic reply in stating "...they are used for the really tough cases." and he refused to comment further aside from assuring that the cannons were not meant for killing people or destroying property.

On the eighth day of the growing protest, a representative was sent to meet with them. Senior Captain Morgan Wayne of the previously mentioned Sealgair Inc. and the commander of the Hunter Task Group Mary Anne and captain of the ship the hunter task group is named for. The Mary Anne is in fact an old Warg class cruiser built several decades ago for the purpose of patrolling the Blood Sea since the harsh conditions of the Blood Sea require specially built ships to navigates its treacherous waters with any reasonable hope of safety. Captain Wayne is a prominent figure the Sea Hunter community and one of the most successful Captains and Sea Hunters. Captain Wayne, himself, having all but grown up on a ship and most definitely spent his entire adult life on ships in the Blood Sea and hunted, successfully, every hostile sea monster inhabiting the Blood Sea from the megalodons to the leviathans. Captain Wayne is a legendary figure know for being cool in a crisis Captain Wayne remarked "I have spent my life in those waters, and I know them and the environment there very well. After all, I make my living off of it." He was immediately rebuked as a "money grubbing mass murderer" by the protester's. Captain Wayne later agreed to sit down and speak with there leaders in private. Transcripts of the discussion were not released but the results were announced. The protester's leader and some of the protesters were allowed to accompany Hunter Task Group Mary Anne on its next patrol, which was scheduled to last a month. They are to be allowed access to most of the vessels and observe the ships and crew in action. Hunter Task Group Mary Anne shipped out last week with the protesters abroad the lead ship AHS Mary Anne. The protester's returned to the port three days later from the Blood Sea and the protest broke up soon after.

While they were unavailable for comment other anonymous source volunteered information. The protesters were found to have suffered from major sea sickness and other maladies soon after entering the Blood Sea. But the real issue arose when the Hunter Task Group encountered some of the protester's precious krakens in the wild. The Hunter Task Group stumbled upon a 2 very large mature adults well over 100 feet long. And the krakens immediately attacked the Hunter Task Group, with one them coming after Mary Anne where the armor and spikes proved themselves by keeping the kraken from wrapping the ship up in its tentacles but not before scaring Greene and Peace so badly they ran and hide below decks, reportedly leaving a trial of yellow fluid behind them. They refused to exit there cabins after that until it they returned to the port. However the regular sailors and hunters responded to the attack in proper fashion, salvoing the massive harpoons and explosives at the krakens and then finishing them off with the big guns as needed. And finally hauling the bodies aboard the processor ships.

BREAKING NEWS

Tragedy struck Agadesh today when at around 9:30AM a car bomb was detonated near the Imperial Grand Library, killing 15 and wounding 32 more. Police have yet to determine a motive, however after an investigation they found the bomb was professionally made and operated. The car seemed to have parked at 9:10, and was detonated 20 minutes after. Eye witnesses report seeing two men wearing all black leaving the car after parking there.

"It's a developing situation, however we state in high confidence that this attack was by a domestic faction due to the care model and eye witness reports." Said Legate of Police, Ezekhial Noshund.

The suspects were last seen walking eastward away from the Imperial Grand Library, and are presumed to be armed and dangerous. Not known is much about them, however as of just this minute police have confirmed they are of Potthani origin, both stand 5'11" tall, and weight approximately 200 lbs.

A third perpetrator is suspected, and is thought to be of the same description.

Of the 15 dead, 4 were children between the ages of 9 and 14, as well as one pregnant woman. May they be at peace and may their killers be punished.

President Leaves On Foreign Affairs Mission

President Safadi's office revealed he has left the country on a official visit to Morrdh, their government is hosting an event to celebrate the ten year anniversary of Vicereine Lothwyn Boudica Cathmore II's reign. His plane landed not long ago at Morrdun International Airport, and he has departed to begin his visit inside the country.

His office took time to highlight the importance of this event, it is the first time Safadi has left the country since he was younger, and his first as President. Not much else was told to reporters other than he has taken a small entourage to assist him in his visit, and that he was looking forward to meeting with foreign officials and heads of state, and possibly discuss a range of issues, while at the same time creating relationships with these people and their governments. His office stated that he intends to visit for a short while, before continuing on with other work. It has not been immediately released who will also be possibly attending the event.

The visit itself comes at an uneasy time for much of the region, as war and conflict in the North has seemed to slow for now at least, meanwhile local analysts believe Safadi is trying to take his new government out of isolation, and make his own, new mark on the foreign stage to separate his administration from that of his predecessors.

Life After the Bombs: the Story of Pezlevko-Rubino

Burtsov Valentinovich tells us that his Ilyich-97 has been in his family for one hundred years, passed down from father to eldest son through four generations. To the Kysetians there is only one god, Gerosha, the horse. But if they were to have a second one it most certainly would be the Ilyich. For them, their mount and their rifle is a way of life, and for decades they struggled to protect their identity under Communist rule. So Burtsov tells us, who one-by-one goes over the many 'battle scars,' as they call them, on his rifle. A genuine Ilyich, in these parts at least, is made out of a fine wood, and it is customary to engrave sections of the buttstock with intricate carvings representing martial achievements. Burtsov's has a recent scar, the one he earned for his service in the Battle of Vasily Eitsaya.

Burtsov, like so many other Kysetians, has used the recent regime change to his advantage. Considered highly adept warriors by Macabean military forces, the Golden Throne is often willing to pay good money for volunteers from amongst this semi-nomadic steppe culture. Organized into makanas, a term that since the 12th century has referred to Kysetian hunting parties, these mercenaries are coveted for their tracking skills and their knowledge of local geography. In a fragile post-war Kashubian political landscape, where Macabean forces are wary of operating in an official manner outside the satrapy's frontiers, Burtsov and others like him have found a lucrative, profitable niche.

As the dust, much of it radiated, settles over the former Red Star Union, supporting factions have largely been forced to fend for themselves after the Ordenite and Mokan withdrawals. Kashubia, which suffered from important territorial losses during the war, also faces legitimacy questions that it has found difficult to resolve. Its control over the area just west of Chernaya is dubious, and this must be compounded with the sheer tension between them and Zvezda there. The situation around Yukar is similar and one wonders how long peace can last between them. In Tuktar, Morridane troops have remained, although for what purpose and towards what end remains wholly unknown. But, their presence is a further affront to Kashubia, and whether the Zvezdans have asked them to remain is unknown. Finally, the relationship between Kashubia and Pezlevko-Rubino remains cordial, but also fraught with doubts.

The unanswered conundrum between Kashubia and Pezlevko-Rubino remains: is Pezlevko-Rubino truly an independent state? That question has not been decisively answered, although the Golden Throne certainly thinks it has. The three hundred thousand Ejermacht personnel who seized Pezlevko and Rubino during the war remain there to this day and the fleet has been replaced by Kríergrup 'Ixchel,' which has been renamed 'Kashubia. Pezlevko-Rubino has been given the status of satrapy, making their defense an imperial obligation, as is the annual tribute that they pay to Fedala. This implies de facto separation from Kashubia, yet recognition of this fact is ambiguous.

Peace exists between the two in large part thanks to common goals, and to a common investor. The Golden Throne has taken to not only fund satrapy's duma, but also the Kendrov regime. In fact, now with the Ordenites gone and fearing a total collapse, capital flowing into Kashubia has only grown since the end of the war.

Kashubia has also seen in good light the cross-border hunter-killer attacks perpetrated by the satrapy's Kysetian makanas. Promised only periodic supply drops and limited close air support, makanas of 100–200 men operate outside of satrapy frontiers for one to two weeks. Their mission: to track down and destroy enemy forces, bases, and civilian supporters.

The Kysetians have proven especially efficient in this regard and unconventional hunter-killer operations in Kashubia have increased substantially as a result. Strikes have focused mostly on the immediate area around Chernaya, although makanas have been reported in the Zvezdan-held steppes to the satrapy's immediate east. Communist insurgents, supported by Zvezdan People's Volunteer Army (ZPVA) — or so the Golden Throne and Kashubia accuse —, use these areas as safe havens to muster their strength and launch raids into satrapy territory. These insurgent forces have also overrun parts of the southwestern fringes of Kashubia, threatening to undermine the area's already tenuous stability. By finding, attacking, and eliminating them outside the borders of the satrapy, the Fuermak aims to take the conflict to the rebel's own turf and undermine their support among the local population.

Although the Fuermak keeps the exact nature of its sponsored attacks, and their number, classified, there have been reports of over two dozen confrontations between Kysetian soldiers and rebels beyond the satrapy's borders.

For Burtsov, these operations are an opportunity to make money, a lot of it. So much so that many Kysetians have begun to sell or abandon their flocks, preferring to join permanent makana formations that then sell their services to the Ejermacht. Contracts can be lucrative. Indeed, Burtsov claims to have been paid close to ten thousand ríokmark equivalent for his role in last month's attack on the largest militant camp discovered to date.

Even a tenth of that is a lot of money in a country with a GDP per capita of less than Ŗ3,500. But, the investment into the services of Burtsov and his people is paying off. Or, at least the early signs are mostly positive. With imperial troops present to provide security, and with the fighting driven as much as possible outside the borders of Pezlevko-Rubino, the newfound peace and stability has made attractive to prospect of local investment. Kysetians who have permanently transitioned to full-time privately contracted soldiers sometimes sell their lands to others within their cultural circle and less often to Macabean soldiers looking to settle there, but they also often sell to foreign multinationals looking to scale their agricultural production. Other foreign capitalists build factories, a lucrative business endeavor in a country with an infrastructure that has been bruised and battered, or worse, from years of war and brutal occupation.

While the Macabean naval base has been present in the area for some years, it's only been in the post-war that Pezlevko and the other nearby towns have truly benefited from it. Now the base, which has grown to better accommodate a larger garrison, employs over ten thousand civilians. Smaller bases and garrisons spread throughout the small satrapy have also played their role in providing jobs to local communities. But, the most significant direct investment the Golden Throne has committed to thus far is the extension of the Pezlevko Kríerstaton, with the intention of most of the new harbor space being constructed to be used as an adjacent civilian port.

Currently, a portion of the military harbor has been opened to civilian cargoships.

War in Kashubia has disrupted hundreds of billions of ríokmarks worth of trade income. This is compounded by the destruction of Dathel Port, which while in the midst of reconstruction, Kashubian efforts to do so are hindered considerably, if only, by the fact that the war, in general, has crippled their treasury. Aid from the Golden Throne is sufficient to maintain a standing army and to provide basic services to at least the majority of the country, but there are still many key areas of Kashubia's infrastructure that are sadly neglected. This is a vacuum that the Golden Throne, which invested in the acquisition of Indran ports to the south, has quickly moved to fill.

Connecting with the fishing town of Belorensk, the port — which will take after the town — is being built with the expectations of eventually controlling around 60,000 TEUs. While volume is nowhere near that level these days, it will be expected to facilitate an increasing amount of trade between the Satrapy of New Empire and the Territory of Indras, as well as with Stevid in the west and Lyras, Greal, and the other neighboring economies in the near east.

For almost a year now, a small section of the adjacent kríerstaton has taken civilian cargoship traffic to fill the vital role of taking on humanitarian aid, at least at the very beginning. The aid still rolls in, but more and more other merchants are shipping their wares to the island and a growing percentage of this traffic is flowing through the port. This has presented some problems for the stationed kríergrup stationed at the base, since the growing flow reduces the amount of space available for large-scale maneuvers if the fleets needed to deploy rapidly. Not that the risk has worked to narrow the valve, for the harbor expansion simply builds on the existing infrastructure. It will be the fleet group that moves, to new installations that are being built eighty-nine kilometers to the west.

But, the effects of the expansion ripple well beyond simply trade. It also employs thousands of people, and these people have settled in new, small towns scattered around the harbor's perimeter where laborers can house their families. Not all inhabitants work on the base. Some run barbershops, grocery stores, and other necessities like automotive repair and small-scale metalworks.

It is a thriving, and burgeoning community that is looking like it will coalesce into a larger city.

This newfound wealth has been moving north, towards the city of Pezlevko and surrounding large towns. In Pezlevko, foreign banks — especially Macabean financial firms —have already flooded the local market with cheap credit and capital, taking advantage of their financial power to enter what is essentially a brand new market.

For all the early hub bub, these services still remain relatively primitive compared to what can be accessed by a provincial Macabean or even by most territorials, but it is nevertheless a dramatic and far cry from the poor, destitute, and financially barren landscape of pre-war Kashubia. These banks have expanded to the new towns cropping up around the growing harbor, and this financial network is helping to distribute, and promote, the flow of wealth wealth of the coastal areas immediately around the port with, and to, the rest of the country.

Of course, much of the newfound economic growth has come with the expansion of basic infrastructure, like paved roads and highways, as well as railroad track. Pezlevko's international airport is also seeing an expansion funded by the Golden Throne, and it is no surprise that one of its criteria for completion is the ability to accept GATA-grade orbital trade flights. This alone will more directly connect the satrapy with markets in far eastern Greater Díenstad and even as far as Gholgoth. All of this infrastructural investment not only benefits those who manufacture, trade, and support these industries, but also those who now have road access, electricity, and running water. In many ways, this has been the most noticeable effect of the imperial presence in a world where wealth is, and will always remain, concentrated and only slowly trickles down to those who need it the most.

What's curious about it all is that the Golden Throne has accepted a more proactive role in Pezlevko-Rubino than it has taken elsewhere. The imperial government has, since the rise of Fedor I, always advocated for as private an approach to economic development as possible. This has saved the empire trillions of ríokmarks in costs, allowing it to better juggle the financial burden of their perpetual military oprations, but it has arguably slowed economic development in the territories — territories that have been infested with insurgencies and other forms of political dissent.

To compromise with its laissez-faire philosophy, which is more-or-less enforced by the financial drain of its wars, the imperial government has a plan to leverage its infrastructural investments and get most of the capital it will invest in the satrapy's reconstruction, if not more. The plan: privatize through competitive auctions.

Wharfs and pier blocks all hold value because of the services that are provided through them. These will be sectioned into 'plots,' much like plots of land, and sold to the highest bidder through a digital auction that will be open to worldwide bids from private companies. Plots will be sold in tiers, with the full intention of leveraging market capitalization as the value of trade to the Belorensk poor grows. Sale of the airport will follow a similar pattern, with sections sold off to different bidders. Why this approach? First, the competitive approach minimizes the opportunity for the formation of monopolistic markets, which usually a feature of government sell-offs. Second, by selling individually and wholesale, the imperial government can earn a higher fraction of its original investment back, something which it intends to do since it is facing an astronomical debt as a result of wars in Gholgoth, Holy Panooly, and the ongoing insurgencies.

Through this approach, the empire has found a solution to the chronic lack of infrastructure in the satrapy, while minimizing losses by treating the construction as a genuine investment.

For many Kashubians, the investments — by whoever they are made — are welcomed with open arms. They come with a cornucopia of economic opportunities which have already begun to be felt by the local populace, creating an environment of growth and general optimism. All the same, not all have enjoyed the spoils equally.

Apart from the end of the warring and associated violence, most of the newborn satrapy has changed little under the new regime.

Kholodov Tikhonovich has tilled the same soil as his father and his grandfather before him. His land has been in the family for over eighty years, growing the same crops and selling to the same markets. "It is a good life," says Kholodov, as we ride on his horse-drawn wood-plank-constructed trailer that looks like it has seen better days. "A poor life, but a good life."

"They speak of helping us, of bringing money and work to the country, but they have been saying the same thing since before I was born. All we've ever gotten from the government are wars, death, and taxes," he continued, looking toward the blood-red horizon. "They say they provide security for us and they repeat the same lie in Pezlevko, but those of who live out here know the truth. The war destroyed our lands and our produce, and now as we re-plant militants come from Chernaya and Ivanovka and demand that we pay them to leave us alone! Where is this government? Where are these troops protecting us? We don't see them. Same as always."

The number of cross-border attacks have steadily gone down as the Ejermacht better fortifies the frontiers and as the fighting is taken over the border, into the neighboring regions. Still, many raids still get through. Last month, Pyatim — the village where Kholodov lives — was attacked by a group of thirty soldiers. After an unsuccessful attempt at extortion, they burned his barley fields.

It may be safer these days if seen from the statistics, but all it takes is one successful attack for a small land owner's livelihood to be absolutely ravished.

Not only does the northern margins of Pezlevko-Rubino suffer the most from the intermittent raiding, it also benefits the least from the infrastructural development. While more banks flock to Pezlevko, few venture to Rubino beyond the opening at small commercial branches to cater to a small pool of upper middle class and elite residents. Beyond banking, very little trade flows through the city and the neighboring towns. Local farmers, like Kholodov, do not produce very much, not with their largely antiquated equipment, and they have very little to sell internationally, let alone buy. Most of the little they produce is sold within the local community, and the little they buy from the outside world is bought from warehouses in Pezlevko. Before the war, Rubino was far better connected to Chernaya and Ivanovka, and even Dathel Port. But little commerce passes between these cities now, with militants plaguing the countryside and their sponsors gone.

Pezlevko has always been the 'big city,' but it has assumed this role at an accelerating pace during the last year. And as things in the south pick up, many from the north are contemplating moving. Some already have. They seek jobs in construction, at the port, or in the factories. It's grueling work, but so is agriculture in these parts, where tractors are a novelty and most still travel by horse or mule.

Not Kholodov, though. "I am a farmer, my son is a farmer, and his son will be a farmer," he says.

But many are making the migration south, and not because of the jobs. No, wealthy private parties are beginning to offer large sums of money for vast swaths of agriculture land. They come with the capital to afford mechanization and economies of scale, allowing them to grow larger yields with less effort. This will revolutionize the area's agriculture, and may even create jobs, but they won't be the same kind that men like Kholodov enjoy today. No, they'll be farm hands, menial labor that comes with a wage. Some smaller farmers will always survive, and they too will eventually mechanize, but it will be the corporate farmers who dominate the landscape soon. If not them, it will be the factories and processing plants who overturn the old world with the new. We know because this has largely been the story elsewhere, including the Havenic territories and Zarbia.

Modernization will always come with growing pains, much in the same way as technological revolution is changing the nature of employment in the provinces and fully developed territories. But it may be particularly harsh for those who live around Rubino, as it is always the poorest who suffer the most.

The road for the satrapy looks promising, but the light at the end of the tunnel is brighter for some than it is for others. What cannot be doubted, however, is that, for most, Pezlevko-Rubino represents their best chance towards a better life in a land that is stumbling and grasping for hope after devastating regimes, wars, and occupation. While all is not perfect, and even the new duma suffers from corruption and inefficiency, the heavy investments by an imperial government seeking to revive trade — where it too derives wealth, even if indirectly — are certainly promising.

To Burtsov Valentinovich, these are great times indeed. More money means more at stake, which only magnifies the need to push the communist rebels fully out, and that means more contracts for Burtsov and other Kysetians. The thought of that certainly makes him smile.

Several fellow organizations within the Reich Party have also organized their own individual celebrations to honor and remember Gottfried Ludwig and for saving the people from a certain demise under a broken democracy.

Today, a shocking report. Following the ruling of Hanjab v. Potthan, to which Christianity is mandatory, there's not been too much of a cultural change.

Tensions may be high, but only the future can tell what we'll face. All in all, new government sanctioned studies most citizens are pleased wit this ruling.

Police have started removing copies of religious texts from book stores nation wide, as well as deconstructing synagogues, mosques, and temples.

However, previous Potthan citizens will be given free voyage to neighboring nations if they aren't Christian. No harm will come to them, and they will not have to pay a dollar.

The ban, which according to the local media outlet "does not affect much as Potthan has been Christian for years" received an approval from certain social groups, as well as from Jericho-Tenno Heika, who issued a call for unification of Potthan under "one people, one culture".

There have been reports of the state's security services rounding up people practicing different religions, as well as widespread attacks on religious objects carried out by the police. At least two mosques have been demolished until now by what appears to be a coordinated action planned in advance with intent to root out all the religions opposing the one practiced by the government.

While no foreign politician has reacted so far to the dramatic events, a major statement attacking Jericho-Tenno Heika's actions has been issued by Kojiro-sama himself. Kojiro-sama called in a press conference this morning, upon which he slammed Jericho-Tenno Heika's attempt to interfere with "religious harmony" existing in his country;

Maki Kojiro: When Kirisht Tenno Heika was arrested, he himself asked his students to hide their swords, stating openly that his kingdom was not to be spread by the force of arms, but rather implying the virtuous shikken to bear the sword and punish evil. At this point, you, Jericho-Tenno Heika, are violating the Heavenly Father's mandate that has been bestowed upon you by usurping his very right to be judge of the human conscience. I am officially asking you to, for the sake of preservation of the international harmony, put away this law, knowing that should you listen to reason, the relations between you and the international community will be far more positive than they are at this point. TORRINGTON, Castillian de Italia - The postwar economy of the Castillian Social Union remained relatively intact following the downfall of the Vaughn regime. Given the fact that virtually almost the entirety of the Castillian military had surrendered to Mokan forces, who were superior in numbers, infrastructure and the means of producing and exporting commodities and goods remained in good condition and were not in any way sabotaged by Mokan occupiers.

Now with a new completely unoccupied and independent Castille de Italia, a major challenge lies not politically, but economically, as Premier Henry J. Adams announced to the world through the "Adams Doctrine" that he intends to shape the country into one of Greater Dienstad's most powerful and successful economies by the end of his first term in office. It presents quite a challenge to the former Parliamentarian, who before entering politics had been at the helm of Laren Phillips LLC, one of the country's biggest holding companies, which declared bankruptcy and defaulted during the 2010 subprime mortgage crisis. Adams has brought together a team of well respected economists and financial gurus, with James Cavanaugh being in charge of the Treasury Secretariat and Ricardo Suave leading the Fair Economics Bureau (FEB), along with many other business leaders, such as Harvey Hershey and Harold Dunston.

Last Friday, the People's Government oversaw the auction of about ninety formerly state-owned companies, with big names such as CasGlobal and the Central Broadcasting Service, under the guidance of the FEB. The companies all sold into private ownership, most notably CasGlobal to billionaire industrialist Harold Dunston, who previously served as Chairman of the Board of Directors in the state enterprise. Dunston intends to drastically expand drilling operations by nearly 60%, including offshore platforms in former Malgrave and beginning drilling operations in San Castello and Nicaro, both oil-rich nations ravaged by war and violence.

Hershey Aviation purchased Trans-Castillian Airways for a record $550 million, and also expects to expand the company by reaching new destinations and terminals due to a shift in diplomacy with many nations on part of the People's Government. Mountbatten Manor Press Secretary Gilles Peterson cited the auction on Friday as a "great success for the Castillian economy and the Adams Doctrine."

The tourism industry in the country, which suffered drastically in the months following up to last April's terror attacks and the Second Mokan-Castillian War, has been steadily growing and is expected to recover back to prewar levels by 2018. Senior economic analyst Kim Tuck stated that "the expansion of Trans-Castillian coupled with the tone of the new administration in the country could see upwards to 10.7 million more tourists than in 2015, when over 950 million tourists visited over the course of that year."

Along with the tourism boost however comes new security challenges. While the terror threat remains relatively low despite Closian nationalism becoming increasingly fervent in the northern Closian parts of the country, the Ordenite Reich remains the number one foe to the new government and the Castillian economy. The Reich recently issued a response to the Adams Doctrine promising retribution for actions to be undertaken under the new Premier's policy. This has led security experts to warn Mountbatten Manor of Ordenite cyber-warfare and potential infiltration of military and diplomatic posts by the Grossman regime, which can lead to devastating effects on the Castillian economy if unchecked and unsecured.

The People's Government has also organized the National Reserve Bank of the Union in Torrington, a central banking system to manage the Datary and moderate long-term interest rates on currency while preventing inflation and managing national unemployment, replacing the National Socialist Central Bank of the former regime. However Chairman of the Reserve, Dan Barker, has recently instead opted to raise rates in response to stagnation, instead of lowering rates as its predecessor banking systems have done in the past. Barker, citing swings in the market due to the transfer of public companies becoming private and a surge of stock being bought up on the market itself as the stocks are publicly bought and traded, believes that copying the Mokan model, which he observed as a senior economist with Mannerheim LLC in the 90s, in which capital comes in from international financial markets causing swings in the Mokan dollar, to which the Mokan central system responded by tightening interest rates to which surprisingly worked and stabilized the Mokan dollar for several years.

Barker seeks to raise interest rates from the current 2% to 4% by 2019, with an increase in 1% in 2018, in an experiment to see if it evens out the Datary and stabilizes the fluctuating markets, which briefly stagnated but now has jumped nearly ten points in the last few months. "Should it stabilize the Datary and we see a continual economic growth, then the Reserve will probably begin to gradually lower interest rates back to the current levels. But while I'm Chairman, the Reserve will not lower the interest rate to 1%, as previous institutions have. I see it as fiscally irresponsible."

Barker of course referred to Cassius Aiello, former Imperial Banking Authority chairman, who had lowered interest rates down to .25%, which is almost effectively zero percent, in 2009 and actively supported subprime lending. Many economists now consider this the precursor to the 2010 subprime mortgage crisis, as many people borrowed at such low rates and banks found creative ways to offload their risky loans by selling them to investors in collateralized debt obligations that rating agencies helped structure into mortgage-backed securities that were almost essentially publicly traded like stock and were rated by said companies as investment grade.

"It was a conspiracy among the banking institutions to pocket the profits from selling off the CDOs and moving their assets offshore so they'd be protected from the forecoming economic crisis would follow. I don't aim to ruin our economy," Barker said.

Secretary of the Treasury James Cavanaugh has been regularly meeting with Chairman Barker to ensure that the country's financial and banking institutions are geared to become the strongest and most competitive in the region. "We can structure the system to become one of the strongest and most foolproof in the region," Cavanaugh was quoted saying in a press conference. "We can rival the Golden Throne's financial institutions very easily so as long as we regulate properly and ensure fair business practices. I for one will not tolerate any cronyism among our financial institutions."

The Economic Revitalization Act however seems to contradict Secretary Cavanaugh to some degree. It provided the buyout of state companies to some of the most influential figures in the government, many of whom had connections with the previous government according to investigations from Mokan authorities and independent media such as Free Dienstadi Press. The FDP went as far to say the legislation supports the institution of an oligarchy among the legislative to financial relationship.

Regardless, the expansion of social and economic assistance programs will have some setbacks to the economy. Premier Adams has expressed possibly furthering expanding subsidization of the agricultural sectors, the third largest industry in the country after petroleum and automotive manufacturing. While many small farmers and mom-and-pop operations have come to embrace having government-backed funding, larger corporations have expressed disinterest in newfound government regulations that'll come with the government funds.

"It isn't in our best interest to be receiving extra money if it controls how we operate," CasSeeds CEO Jim Boswell told BBR. "We can manage with our own profits and remain successful and continue to have the crop yields we've had without government interference."

"The government can subsidize the small farmers all they want," he went on. "But the small farmers aren't the one's who innovate in genetically modified foods and mass agricultural production. In fact for the most part they become a roadblock in our success in those areas."

Bottom line, the Economic Revitalization Act expanding the private sector and expanding the markets in private equity and capital will be an interesting sight and something for economists and financial analysts to follow over the next few months. It will be interesting to see however the Reserve's rate hikes on people's willingness to spend, which drives the consumer economy.

Official Statement Regarding the Castillian National Socialist State in Exile

In regards to recent press inquiries, as the Union's chief diplomat, I see fit to issue an official statement of the State Secretariat of the Union regarding the Castillian National Socialist State in Exile, which is fully backed by the Ordenite Reich and based within Berlina. As the Secretary of State appointed by the Premier, he has trusted me to carry out his foreign policy as outlined in the Adams Doctrine. I see no reason to deter from his strong commitment to remaining opposed to fascism across the globe, and the Union will not engage in talks with the Reich anytime soon.

Furthermore, the State Secretariat will place the Reich on a list of rogue terror states, and I hereby place a travel ban for all Castillian citizens to travel to the Reich for any reason. In the case of the Castillian National Socialist State in Exile, it is not a legitimate government for the Castillian people; Mr. Vaughn made that clear when he abandoned his people in the Second Mokan-Castillian War, and for him to still claim to be the rightful ruler of the Castillian and Closian people is absurd and ludicrous at the very least.

As Secretary of State, I hereby commission the State Secretariat's Board for Ordenite Affairs, a committee resolved to dealing strictly with Ordenite issues as well as the Vaughn regime in exile, as well as the six million Castillian citizens being held in Ordenite borders. I call upon Reichsminister Ernst Grasemann, my Ordenite counterpart, to break away from Orden Party indoctrination and Grossman's protocol to conduct normal diplomatic affairs rather than the barbaric jingoistic and incredibly racist foreign policy that the Ordenite Reich carries out.

Lastly, the State Secretariat will work closely with the Premier's Justice Commission and Mountbatten Manor to see that all Castillians held against their will in the Reich are returned home, and that Vaughn will be captured and extradited to be tried for crimes against humanity.

Reichertsfeld, Germania- The Deutsche Werhmacht as of 2017 have once again shown their professionalism and out right dominance in quality and combat effectiveness in recent years despite the set backs in the previous two conflicts, the Wehrmacht fought and acted bravely in the face of overwhelming odds in two different theaters in what could very well have been a near region wide war. The Wehrmacht displayed tremendous combat skills in several major and minor battles that occurred in both theaters. The Battle of Tuktar which fell to the combined powers of Morrdh, Lamoni, and Stevid only proves a point that the Deutsche Wehrmacht are quite capable of taking on multiple opponents and still maintain a relative superiority over them. The battle lasted for nearly two months and was where savage fighting occurred, The 69th Panzergreinader Division, 42nd Panzergreinader Division, 122nd Panzergreinader Division, 32nd Panzer Division, 75th Panzer Division, 55th Panzer Division, including the 12th Motor Rifle Division from the Kashubian Army held off the invaders for over two months before the city was finally abandoned by the occupying and defending Deutsche Wehrmacht forces and allowed to fall to the enemy. Other battles such as those of New Impen, Gryaznaya, and Yukar showed immense bravery and heroism in the face of overwhelming odds by our Armed Forces.

In combat within the jungles of Holy Panooly against the famed Macabeean Erjmacht, the Deutsche Wehrmacht proved superior over seemingly what was reffered to as "the best of the best" in the Erjmacht, however the Wehrmacht would make short work of the Erjmacht in it's campaign that sweeped through the entirety of the North Panooly satrapy in just one week. Advancing several hundred kilometers in a meer 7 days the Wehrmacht were able to rout the North Panoolie Army and those of the Erjmacht in which many of the Erjmacht prisoners of war captured in the first week were interviewed, many were simply baffled at the speed the Deutsche Wehrmacht were able to completely dismantle the Satrapy's defenses and rout thousands in meer days. However acts of heroism and bravery were displayed later on in the following weeks when South Panooly was invaded by a joint Macabeean-Imbrimium invasion force which outnumbered the Wehrmacht on the continent. Despite the odds the Wehrmacht would fight with a fierce tenacity and immense bravery in the face of greater numbers before the conflict in Holy Panooly was resolved.

In Reichertsfeld, those from the Deutsche Wehrmacht who were involved in two past conflicts were appreciated and awarded for their immense feats in combat. Hartwig Eiden(31) who recently received the rank Oberfeldwebel was a gunner for a Panzer X and was part of the 32nd Panzer Division during the fierce combat surrounding Tuktar, In his heroism and bravery, Hartwig managed to successfully destroy over 54 enemy tanks and 20 enemy armored vehicles. Hartwig would be awarded the Grand Cross of the Iron Cross. In Holy Panooly, Nikolaus Rueck because of his showcase of extreme heroism and bravery was awarded the rank of Leutnant for neutralizing two enemy pill boxes which was holding down a sector of the advance and rallying his comrades to storm them afterwards and capture over a dozen prisoners of war. He was rewarded the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves for his bravery in combat. These are only some of the overwhelming acts of bravery and heroism that was displayed by those within the Deutsche Wehrmacht in most recent history.

Mokan Castillian Puppet Voices Intentions for Relations with the Reich:

The Castillian Social Union once again shows it's arrogance and ignorance towards affairs within Dienstad once again. It seems that those within the CSU have not yet realized or let it dawn on them that their new regime is only a regime that seeks to forever keep the Castillian and Closian people chained and completely dependent on the Mokan Federation. As is typical of Mokan Federation puppets is the saber rattling and arrogance shown towards the Fourth Reich as it throws out ridiculously claims as if it knows and or understands domestic and foreign policy within the Reich. This could not be any more wrong as the six million in all who were luckily enough to escape and flee for refuge within the Reich from the impending Castillian Social Union and it's Mokan occupiers, are more than grateful that Germania was more than welcoming to them. The Castillian National Socialist State will forever live on within the Fourth Reich, with or without the Castillian and Closian homelands. Already these six million Castillians are showing their eagerness to adjust and adapt to Ordenite culture and society, free of the shackles of their Mokan occupiers and now free of the Castillian Social Union, they are free to rebuild and continue their lives under National Socialism.

In response to newly foundered Castillian aggression towards the Fourth Reich, The Reich Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that trade sanctions are being imposed on the Castillian Social Union and that any and all Castillians are welcomed to seek refuge within the Fourth Reich at any point in time.

TUKTAR, A POST-WAR CITY

TUKTAR- As Morridane Commonwealth Forces Tuktar is officially estbalished there is much speculation over the city's future.

The Morridane Government has stated that it wishes to start withdrawing troops in five years providing that the situation at that time is favourable, a long-term occupation is not what the Commonwealth wants. But as of yet it has not been stated to whom the Commonwealth wishes to transfer the city to, Her Excellency's Government is said to be considering all options and wants to ensure the best future possible for the city. Following the Mokans' withdrawal of support for Zvezda the Commonwealth has been hesitant to fill the void that has been left, something that has led to a slight but noticable cooling of relations. Though diplomatic dialogue has been opened with the regime in Kashubia, anything further here hinge on the Kashubians completely cutting off ties with the Ordenite Fourth Reich.

Within the environs of Tuktar itself and the surrounding countryside there is a very strong Commonwealth military presence, thousands of extra personnel from the Royal Morridane Engineers and the Medical Corps have been deployed to the city. Priorities have been given to getting basic utilities and hospitals back up and running, these are considered vital by the Commonwealth to help with the city's post-war recovery. The military administration has put a call out asking for civilian workers to not only help with the reconstruction efforts but to get public services running again. These workers are paid the Commonwealth's minimum wage rate and are given access to the Morridane Armed Forces' commissaries, the latter perk has proven to be a popular incentive as it allows the workers access to luxury goods otherwise unavalible in Tuktar.

At present the Commonwealth has enforced a rationing system of both food and fuel, a network of depots have been setup where civilians can collect their allocated rations but the Commonwealth hopes to ease the rationing once public services are working ocne again. But not everyone agrees with this syetem and convoys still have to have an armed escort usually in the form of armoured cars or light tanks. The biggest worry is cross-border raids and so the Morridane Army has fortified the Tuktar frontier to counter this issue, but the Kashubian regime has been appraoched with the view of improving this situation.

For the first time since the early 2000's, Emperor Jericho III had taken command of the military and been deemed a Warlord. This is due to a civilian uprising in the southern sects of the Empire, and thus the whole region has been placed under martial law, will all Communists being actively persecuted in a lethal manner.

This morning around 7 AM, 2 divisions of Potthani Legion troops arrived in the cities of Kavash and Bokan looking for trouble. Along with tradition, they painted the Communist's flag in dog's blood, and begun persecution of Communists. So far, minimal casualties have been sustained by the Legion, with major casualties on the Communists and their supporters. Emperor-Warlord Jericho III stated in his declaration of war "We must exterminate the pests known as Communists from our land, and once and for all show these rebels that Potthan will not fall to the hands of foreign governments and morals.".

Foreign Minister demands Explanation for Kavash Massacre

Asteria, Themis - In a highly unusual move, Themisi Foreign Minister Hanikos Caelambos today issued a statement to the office of Emperor Jericho III, the head of state of the Potthani Empire, demanding an explanation for reports of crimes against humanity committed in Kavash.

Corroborated by eyewitness reports and Themisi intelligence, TNN has received an exclusive insight into a dossier compiled for the Executive Council of Themis, detailing the atrocities committed in the communist-controlled south of Potthan. Going further than previous sporadic reports from refugees escaping the region, the dossier details the true extent of the slaughter committed by Potthani Legionnaires in the communist-controlled south of the empire.

In what the dossier describes as a well planned operation, over ten thousand Potthani legionnaires were deployed to Kavash, a major city in the region, apparently with orders to execute anyone associated with the secessionist movement in the region. Interpreted as a free reign to purge the city. In an attack timed for when children were travelling to school, government forces began indiscriminate bombing of residential areas. Rushing to the aid of wounded and dying students littering the streets, or buried under the rubble of their homes, rescue workers found themselves under fire from government soldiers, purposefully targeting emergency vehicles as they advanced. With no means to fight back or escape, civilians were murdered in their hundreds, in cold blood.
Elsewhere in the city, local law and security forces took up arms to defend their homes from the onslaught, buying time for many to escape. It is thought that the Potthani forces used this as justification to begin the systematic killing of any person on sight, homes, hospitals and schools looted and vandalised as they advanced. Elsewhere, Potthani aircraft are alleged to have strafed escaping columns of civilians, leaving highways littered with the bodies of the innocent, fleeing in terror from the onslaught.

This comes on the back of recent moves by the Potthani state to enforce Christianity as a mandatory religion for the Empire, an announcement that brought with it a wave of intercommunal violence that observers believe was tacitly supported by the government.

Whilst no official reply has been received from the Potthani representatives, a general statement released by the Potthani Senate of Media and Information lauds the actions of the Potthani security forces, describing any refugee from the region as 'treasoners' whose accounts may be '...true and false'. Whether this is an admission by the Potthani state of crimes against humanity remains to be seen. In the meantime, the Foreign Minister used his statement to condemn '...in the strongest terms, cowardly accounts against the innocent, in the name of a so-called emperor's personal insecurities...', and warns that '...Potthani officials should expect condemnation, economic isolation, and possibly more definitive action...'.

The Foreign Minister's statement breaks long-standing tradition of non-interventionism of Themis in Dienstad, a policy that has been used to assure Themisi neutrality and prosperity for the past century. Whilst lauded in Senate today by members of the PUP-Liberal coalition, the Conservative Democrat opposition warned '...such meddling in the affairs of other nations, however well-intended, may bring an end to an era of peace not enjoyed by any other Dienstadi nation in the modern age.'. The unexpected move by the PUP has also concerned commentators of a radical shift in the policy of the left-leaning liberal coalition towards a militarism often criticised by leading senators. Whilst unlikely to lead to any provocative action, that would require a majority vote in both Senate and the National Assembly, the possibility of such further, direct criticism being levelled at other Dienstadi states raises an uncertainty not seen in recent years.

In the meantime, with reports emerging of further atrocities committed in the Potthani city of Bokan, the region awaits a response from the government of Potthan.

Ambassador Forced to Exit Alemmania-Political Dust Up Ensues

In an unexpected event, the government of Alemmania forced Ambassador Makharbi Gairbekov to leave Alemannia, and has also recalled its ambassador from our nation. In what appears to be a somewhat bizarre incident, from what has been revealed, the Alemmanic government, specifically a certain "Àïxa Kalixte Vàtatzés", who works for their foreign relations, criticized President Safadi for attending a diplomatic event in Morrdh, and the Kolechian government. Citing a lack of dedication "to the righteous emancipation of the workers, farmers, and other oppressed and marginalised members of society", and accusing the government of committing "revisionism of Marxist principles", the Alemmanic government expressed frustration at Kolechia, but also several other nations.

Timur Eldarkhanov, current head of the Foreign Ministry, confirmed that Ambassador Gairbekov was quickly and safely escorted out by his staff and is now home in Kashgar, likewise, the Alemannic diplomatic staff, being escorted by security, departed without incident. Eldarkhanov did discuss the incident today in a small press briefing: "The President is aware of what occured, but he hasn't fully discussed it with us, I think he is trying to finish the meeting in Morrdh first. The whole incident itself has been rather confusing, I specifically take issue with their remark of our nation abiding by Marxist principles, let alone revisioning such an ideology. I can't really say where their government aquired this perspective, regardless, the issue of mending relations is completely in the unknown. Personally, I think the issue is in doubt." Until the President returns to formally discuss the situation, our two countries won't apparently have contact, many local analysts believe it's probably going to stay that way for sometime.

This breaking news comes from the MOD at this hour, the Liberation of Holy Panooly has begun by Crown and Philotas Islands military. The operation which has been done with the conjunction with Macabeean Military to liberate Holy Panooly from the Fourth Reich which started attacking Macabeean north almost a month ago. The early reports state that the operations are going to plan and that it seemed to have caught the Fourth Reich and its forces off guard. The news comes to the shock of many here at home due just ending a war with Morrdh and Stevid just over a year ago and the Crown has entered the kingdom into two more possibly major wars here in the region and aboard.

Here at home as the news broke more riots have taken place in those areas already stricken with many riots over the months. There have been some calls to call out the Home Guard to some areas where the police force has been either not able or over powered by rioters.
Some 800 arrests and 50 deaths of rioters and with 300 police officers and 30 killed in the last few months as the rioters have become more and more aggressive against the government.
