Anowa and Finn have a point. The year is 2549, yet the last four posts put it as 2529. And yes, we shouldn't be so formally introducing ourselves in the middle of what will soon become a firefight. Imagine a soldier out in the Middle East walking up and shaking hands with his fellow GI's just as they're about to kick down a door to clear a room. Doesn't make sense.

In my defense, I shouldn't have assumed the person whose post I copied that from was right. Really should not have done that.

PSYCH EVALUATION: Milly is a somewhat quiet soldier and doesn't openly express herself, but keeps an idealistic and passionate side buried. Overall she has learned to keep her mouth shut when it comes to whatever drives her, even if she isn't able to pinpoint what it is. Milly can be sociable when engaged, but doesn't usually confront others, with that said she still cares for the general well being of her peers and unit members. With every firefight, every prolonged conversation, and every death, Milly seems to change just a little bit.

BIOGRAPHY: Born in New Phoenix, 2528, with a military father, and an absentee mother working somewhere in the United Earth Government, though she never really got to clarify her position, Milly should find out one of these days. It was an average upbringing, with her mother making up most of the income that bought food on the table, and her father chipping in with checks on distant battlefields. If her parents loved each other, they at least tried to show it, but it might have just been her and her siblings that really bridged Kathryn Lilith and Michael Thompson together. Michael Thompson was a Sergeant in the UNSC Marine Corps, tough as they come, responsible, and with a passion he seemed to express to his subordinates to keep morale and combat effectiveness high. Never doubting the mission, he knew what he was fighting for. Stubborn, alive, selfless. When her father came home he answered every question Milly asked with a patriotic or optimistic answer. Deep down he knew things weren't like the rose-tinted glasses that he explained to his second youngest daughter, but it wasn't like it mattered. She'd have to carry the same aspirations as his other kids anyways.

Her parents had a fractious relationship; whereas her father always appeared about to snap, her mother didn't hold back, she screamed. Milly didn't know what to do but to hide behind her siblings and mope, confused as their parents entered arguments. One night, on a particularly bad argument, her mother came out of their bedroom not upset, and Milly's father didn't seem flustered either. He sat down and explained that he would be with her forever again after one last deployment beyond Earth the stars. He disappeared that day, early in the morning. Milly couldn't sleep and just listened as her father's footsteps echoed down their house and out the door. Which was why it was a shock when to Milly at seven years old when he was bludgeoned to death into a wall by a gravity hammer. She went through elementary school, pushing through, middle school came and passed with high marks on her grades, and high school came. Milly's brother joined the UNSC Marine Corps, same as her father under assurances that he would be alright. High school passed and Milly for the most part debated to join the UNSC Army or seek a higher education, and weeks passed into summer without conclusion on what to do. Milly held her breath for June 22nd, and held back tears on June 23rd.

She was sold to the UNSC Marine Corps on June 24th, to her Mother's protest. It was an escape from New Phoenix. From comforts, she was an able bodied female who could run a hell of a distance and had a high test score for all of the military aptitude tests. Fast-tracked to infantry, almost begrudgingly. Basic training seemed to slip by somewhat easily, with more infantry oriented training proposing somewhat of a challenge, but she passed, in the name of... Family? Earth? She didn't know, it didn't matter. Her unit was the 9th Marine Expeditionary Force, 21st Marine Division, and was subsequently deployed to the outer-colonies in an insurgent suppression and Covenant Counter-Intelligence operation in support of the ODSTs. She performed highly and was promoted on account of commendation, and offered a pipeline to the ODST Units which Milly gladly accepted. A number of high casualty clandestine operations seemed to have taken their emotional toll on Milly Thompson, emptying her of some life. She swallowed her ideals and kept them buried until it was safe for them to poke out again, but maintained her level or performance. Milly Thompson has transferred through a few units in the 105th Shock Trooper Division before being selected by ONI for the Black Initiative

Little small to be lugging around all the heavy equipment so I expect you to keep that in mind whenever they're out in the field for long durations of time. The only major issue I have is her time on Arcadia. Given her age she would have been active duty roughly 2546; Arcadia was abandoned by the UNSC in 2531.
