Most popular Video Game in your Nation

Postby Tokora » Mon Apr 17, 2017 9:27 am

This might be better in forum 7 but I'm pretty sure this is the right spot.

Basically, what is the most popular game played by your nation's citizens, how's it played, and what's it about?

The most popular game in Tokora is "Chiến tranh Yêu nước". A hybrid first-person shooter/real-time strategy game where you fight a land war in Asia (it's not easy). In the near future, The United States and Russia have lost their influence, so the nations of Southeast Asia and Tokora unify and form the DRSEA (Democratic Republic of Southeast Asia). However, the People's Republic of China seeks dominance after annexing Siberia, central, and east Asia, and refuses to accept another power by her doorstep. After launching a surprise attack war rages between the DRSEA and the PRC with the future of the continent in the balance. While only the DRSEA has a campaign, both sides are played in multiplayer. For some reason, the game is apparently banned in China.

Our most popular video game is Yak Quest!, a text-based adventure game in which you play as a yak making the long journey to Beloransk with his family. It's pretty much a blatant knockoff of Oregon Trail (except... with yaks), but nobody ever said Kirislavians were known for their creativity.

Capitalism, The Corporate Machine, Pepsiman, and Pepsi-Universe. Capitalism and The Corporate Machine are business simulation games. Pepsiman is an Action/running game where you stop the evil Dr. Coke and Comrade Labor-union from stealing Pepsi from stores and bystanders. Pepsi-Universe is a puzzle/shooter/platformer where you collect as much Pepsi as possible to drink with your friends after a zombie apocalypse caused by drinking Coca-cola.

The video game industry is really minor in Tekirlemmih and there are only reported 500,000 copies sold each year (of all the games sold). Strangely, It's currently one of the few industries of Tekirlemmih which uses a strict version of state capitalism, with the government only owning at least 40% of the corporation. Games from foreign countries has to be strictly filtered, and at that point it isn't even worth it.

The most popular video game as of current year is Tsorfirf, developed by Gninrätdör Glaob. It is a run and gun survival action game, featuring social commentary on a capitalist society based on the northern pole.

Deus Ex series are very popular in Kharaz-A-Kharak for showing transhumanist ideas and the main character could be recognized as a special operations officer Khazâd-style. Devil May Cry (the 1 to 4 and remake), Battlefield 1, and Mass Effect are also popular.
Online, the most popular is OGame and NationStates.
Native popular games are Iron Age, a action game based in a fantasy version of the First World War, if werewolves, vampires, technomages and spirits existed, capable to choose what nation you want to be; Star Empire, witch is a mix between OGame and NationStates; and Shadowrun Chronicles, a Final Fantasy-esque game based on the Shadowrun universe.

Patriotic War is a government sponsored turn based grand strategy game where you use the might if the Upper-African military to crush Oceania with your Eurasian allies (sometimes Eurasia with Oceanian allies or both with East-Asia). The best part, the game is perfectly customizable for governments allied to Upper-Africa to use it for their citizens.

What is video game? Oh, you mean Light Sports? That is what we call video games in our nation... likewise, the most popular game is a Video Game called Spartans Quest, basically it is Megaman but with Persians and Romans and Persian or Roman style Robots and Megaman is a Spartan rather than a Robot, there is a second version of the game where you can also play as a Slav

The most popular video game of all time in the EER is known as shulsum lirim sholb sumussum, which in the rarely used language Kolshi means "Viral Demon Attack". The game was based upon the premise of each player being part of a bio-weapon development plant, using viruses, bacteria, parasites, prions, cancers, and amoebae to take control of areas and infect the population.

Early on in its history, the game was a little known title by a new developer. Video gaming is somewhat looked down upon in the EER, so few played it at first. However, after a successful use of a genetically altered virus to cure a bacterial infection, the game added a similar functionality to its mechanics. It's popularity skyrocketed, with major factions emerging. The most notable development in the game was when a player-created amoeba known as Stupidity became the most deadly disease of the game.

Viral Demon Attack was praised for its balancing and basic concept, but many found its grinding boring. Despite this, it maintained great popularity for around six years. After this time, other MMORPGRTS titles began to compete with it, such as the expensive but stunning Beyond the Ice and the cheap, addictive but repetitive browser game Abyssal. No game would ever manage to match Viral Demon Attack in player count however.

Currently, the game is played by a small number of dedicated players. It is estimated that servers will be repurposed or shut down within the current half-decade.

The video games sponsored by the beloved leader of my country is Persona 5 and Tekken 7. In fact all households are required to own copies of each game, as instructed by the DPRA Family Development Department. These games are the most popular games, and other games in games stores are compared to these games to see if they are good or not.
