If it's sourced as an explosion I would have thought a large tyre bursting wouldn't fit that criteria, although a good sized truck tyre popping can be pretty powerful. To have not called the game off indefinitely I'm somewhat doubtful it was insidious in origin.

Just checked Die Welt, no info about that so far but I would guess it's a rather widespread suspect.

BBC is currently reporting "three explosions". No-one is quoted suggesting any terrorist or malicious links, but I'd say it is a possibility.

Various statements have been made saying there is no danger in or around the stadium; no risk to the fans; however, fans in the stadium have been advised to remain there until it is safe for them to leave. The match has been postponed.

I've seen engines/tires fail and either send metal shrapnel or fire out depending on how it failed.

This Fiat in this video shows you a failure of some kind whether tire or engine blowing a fender when doing a burnout.

Sad to hear that one Dortmund player was injured. Marc Bartra. Thankfully, they say it isn't anything life-threatening or like that.

What I've read up till now is that it was three explosions. Police state that these alleged explosives may have been in hedges or somehow along the edge of the road. Bartra was injured when the windows exploded. I hope, as they've been saying, it isn't going turn out to be serious.
