So, who did I accept in my absence?

Also Judah, with the way your character is, they could possibly have been kicked form the League, due to their beliefs.

No, but in the Premise it says that recently several members were kicked from the Leaugue due to their radical views.

EDIT, in the post i meant IJ accepting apps.

Fair enough. Actually, that does give me an idea.

Would we be open to a character who has begun aligning himself more with the Society since it would be easier to recruit adherents to Meta Zionism willing to accept a "by any means necessary" doctrine, but is actually officially a member of the League? I'm not sure I would want to try to do such a thing, but it would be interesting.

Future OP characters

Postby Shadowwell » Sat Apr 08, 2017 5:32 pm

The below characters are going to be in the rp, some later than others and i will app them later.

Shaman: An elemental manipulator who harnesses the elements by letting the elemental spirits into his body.

Chameleon: A mysterious figure whose appearance is as mysterious as he is.

Luka D'angelo, The Bloody Angel: Enforcer and Adopted son of Giovanni Nicoletti, the ruler of the Syndicate. He has heightened pain resistance and has an unlimited blood supply, along with a few other things.

Oz, The Wizard: a powerful Meta who can manipulate the very laws of the world, or he once could. He works with both the SID and the LEague developing their tech.

Might have more ideas.

I'm possibly thinking of going with some sort of phoenix-theme for my character, though I have other ideas and potential routes I could take. Not quite sure whether to keep said character French or make them English, either. Both have potential in regards to what I can do for his backstory.

On another note, I was looking through some of my old posts, and I found this abomination of a wolf:

I believe that madness can find more madness, and that every ounce of madness has a spark of truth. And truth, as you know, has a way of depressing people who don't want to find it.

No one is 100% honest... We all keep 20% of the truth from the world, to protect ourselves & sometimes others.

Once We Were Villains Character App
[img]Picture%20To%20Go%20Here[/img]

Secret Identity: He has no one name
Alias: Chameleon
Age: Unknown
Personality: Calculating, mishievious
Appearance: They are many
Meta type: Unknown, suspected to be Inhuman or Mystical
Affiliation: The Society
Powers/Skills: He is immortal, or suspected to be so. His powers, whatever the may be, make him able to appear as nearly anyone. He will look and sound like them, but different people may not see him as the same person if they see him at once. And his power prevents the other person from hearing anything that would dissuade them from believing that he is who they think he is.
Weaknesses: Powers have no combat orientation, and should he be in a room full of people, it can be draining for him.
Backstory: Little is known about the being known as Chameleon.
Optional:(The Below are optional and are added for enjoyment.)
Theme Song:
Voice Actor:
Likes/Dislikes:
Fears:
D&D Alignment: Chaotic Evil

Once We Were Villains Character App
[img]Picture%20To%20Go%20Here[/img]

Secret Identity: Shane Blackmoore
Alias: Bulk
Age: 28
Personality: Laidback
Appearance: He is tall and rather large, both in size and weight. He is easily 6’10” though he may be taller. He has a large build, large enough that you wouldn’t think he weighed as much as he does. He has shaggy dark brown hair, that reaches his shoulders.
Meta type: Mystical
Affiliation: The Syndicate
Powers/Skills: He has enhanced physical attributes, mainly his durability and strength. Additionally when he sits down or takes a stance he is nearly immovable and for a time he is indestructible, or nearly so. Normally he possesses a resistance to bladed weapons and most types of bullets. He has partial self Density manipulation, he can increase and reset his density, but not reduce it or that of anything else.
Weaknesses: He can be easily moved by those of sufficient strength. Blunt objects can damage him more easily than sharp things. He is rather susceptible to fir and acid, but is resistant to the cold and electricity based attacks.
Backstory: He was born to the prestigious Blackmoore family in England. When he was 16 his family was murdered by a Meta. It was during that time when his power manifested, strangely enough they all had to do with Fat, atleast in a sense. For a short time he operated in England under another name, before he got into trouble with the League. Afterwards he met with The Boss and has worked with the Syndicate ever since, as Muscle. He works with Luka as his partner.
Optional:(The Below are optional and are added for enjoyment.)

D&D Alignment: Chaotic Good

Once We Were Villains Character App
[img]Picture%20To%20Go%20Here[/img]

Secret Identity: Douglass Carver
Alias: Shaman
Age: 23
Personality: Normally he is carefree, but his personality changes with his indivial forms. likes nature and the elements. he is reasonably intelligent, can appear callous and arrogant at times. is rather confident in his powers. A bit of a loner
Appearance: Tall at 6'6, has a broad muscular frame. lightly tanned skin, short black hair, piercing blue eyes. He wears button ups mostly, with undershirts. (easier to take off for a fight.)
Meta type: Mystical
Affiliation: League
Powers/Skills: Elemental manipulation ,resistance ,and physiology. He can absorb and harness the elements of Earth/Metal, Fire, and lightning/electricity. When he absorbs the elements it allows him to use them later without there actually having to be a source of that element nearby. He can also channel the elements and gain corresponding traits. He can only channel the elements for a few minutes at a time. He has a generally resistance to all five element (air, fire, water, earth, and lightning) but can only use 3 of them. He can absorb the elements from any sources except living things. His powers manifest physically to a lesser extent when he is not harnessing them. He thinks faster and has a greater mental acuity and sharpness than most people, he is stronger than he looks, and he can be very vindictive and destructive. These traits are due to the use and harnessing of his elemental powers. He can absorb not just the energy of the elements but the elements themselves (he can draw metals that are found in the earth into himself this increases his strength but makes him slower and it tires him if he takes too much. Some of the below abilities are only when he is harnessed and merged with the elemental energy. He can refill his energy by simply being in contact with the element itself or things that use it i.e. touching a power socket. When he is shy or nervous his skin has a tendency to become electrified and magnetic. He can also sense and track things from or containing the elements that he can control.

Earth: becomes stronger and sturdier, meaning he can take a hit but is much slower and physically can’t deal as much damage but he doesn’t need to he can outlast most opponents simply with stamina and endurance alone. (He can make himself immoveable by anchoring himself to the earth, he can not only control dirt earth but he can also control things that come from the earth such as most metals and he can control plants to an extent. The more earth elemental energy he absorbs the slower and sturdier he gets.)

Fire: becomes more aggressive as well as being able heat things with a touch, he can deal massive damage but unlike with his other elements instead of slowly healing, he slowly takes damage. As his take damage his flames change colour from blue-white to a barely visible red. As the colour changes so does the strength of his flames. He can attain flight through massive release of his fire. (He can stand extremely high temperatures up to 4000 degrees F. he control the temperature of things to an extent without having to active channel the element. The more of this energy the more aggressive and volatile he gets, along with strength and volatility)

Lightning/electricity: allows him to move through electric lines and cables, also allows him to moves at great speeds. Is not very strong but his speed makes up for it he also can regenerate faster if by chance he actually gets hit. He can also read minds and manipulate thought patterns when channelling this power. (He can teleport to an extent but he is actually moving at the speed of lightning which is 186000 miles per second but he can only do this two or three times before he has to recharge, he can intercept radio wave so at any time he can hear and or listen to the radio when he wants.
He can also mentally access the internet or any similar electrical based system. Because of his affinity for electricity he has a relative resistance to things that would seek to alter his brain patterns and he can block people from entering/reading his mind. The more of this the faster and more anxious he gets as well as smarter) he can also see using electrolocation and feeling the usually slight auras of electricity all beings produce. He can tell if a being has powers because their usually produce a stronger aura than powerless humans.

When harnessing the elements he also gains the ability to heal when in contact with that element. When harnessing, he can either use the absorbed element for the physical traits or for the generation of said element even if the element is not readily available. As a result of the effects that the elements have on him he can go through mood swings and is occasionally unpredictable because of it. He can harness certain elements more efficiently and for longer in certain circumstances depending upon the element. When at a volcano his fire and earth harnessing are more powerful same with lightning if there is a storm. Only in rare circumstances can he channel multiple elements like if in the presence of a thunder volcano (when a volcano erupts with such force that the resulting air displacement and heat causes a thunderstorm to appear there.) he can harness lightning and fire.

He can combine his elements if they are present in his environment, such as if there is enough fire and earth near him he can create Magma. More often than not he fashions weapons out of the elements when fighting melee or sends shards or balls of the elements for ranged combat. Weaknesses: It takes time for him to gather the Elemental spirits and the ones he has stored can fade ins trength over time. While his normal form possesses enhanced attributes due to his ties to the elements he is more of a jack of all rather than a master of one.
Backstory: TBD
Optional:
Theme Song: Renegade-Styx
Voice Actor: Christian Kane
Likes/Dislikes:
Fears: the destruction of nature.
D&D Alignment: Chaotic Good

Once We Were Villains Character App
[img]Picture%20To%20Go%20Here[/img]

Secret Identity: Stephen Kingsley
Alias: Immortal Legion
Age: 27
Personality: Varies
Appearance: (Description or pic above.)
Meta type: Mystical
Affiliation: SID
Powers/Skills: His pwoers are complicated, extremely complicated. He can never not exist in this reality, in others he can, but not this one. He can draw upon the collective knowledge and perhaps more of the various versions of himself in every existing reality. He is immune to reality warping and can negate it to a degree, his other abilities and skills can be random,he must actively search for whatever dimension he is channeling and it can have negative effects. He can draw other versions of himself into this reality under his control, to a point.

Weaknesses: (Would like things other than just character flaws or someone stronger than them, or an obscure metal.)
Backstory: (why are they who they are today, Would like atleast 2 paragraphs but will accept one if well written.)
Optional:(The Below are optional and are added for enjoyment.)
Theme Song:TBD
Voice Actor: TBD
Likes/Dislikes: TBD
Fears: TBD
D&D Alignment:Good most of the time

Once We Were Villains Character App
[img]Picture%20To%20Go%20Here[/img]

Secret Identity: Rodger Silverman
Alias: TBD
Age: 23
Personality: Hyber, active, uncaring, changing
Appearance: TBD
Meta type: Mundane
Affiliation: Society
Powers/Skills: Caffiene manipulation and Empowerment. The more caffiene he drinks the stronger and more powerful he becomes. He also gains hyper acute senses and superior physical attributes in all ways. He can also manipulate and move things with caffiene in it, be it fruit or other things. When he has ingested enough Caffiene, he can maipulate his body for multiple effects.
Weaknesses: Without any amount of caffiene he is weaker than a normal human. He must also ingest lots of caffiene to keep his powers steady. takes time to adjust to his empowerment on occassion. His empowrment does have limits and is susceptible to mental attacks to a point.
Backstory: He was 16 when his powers awoke, until then he ahd only been loosely involved in criminal ventures.
He joined the Society several months ago and was captured by the SId when he was turning over a Diamond exchange when he ran out of caffiene. He has been in the Rock ever since.
Optional:(The Below are optional and are added for enjoyment.)
Theme Song:
Voice Actor:tbd
Likes/Dislikes:
Fears: eating healthy, no caffiene
D&D Alignment:Chaotic Nuetral

Shaman seems a bit OP, but since it is an OPs character, I suppose that's fine.

As for the Untainted, maybe Red Hawks? It was used in a TV series called Star-Crossed as the name for an anti-extraterrestrial hate group.

Once We Were Villains Character App

Secret Identity: Adam Thompson
Alias: Galvus
Age: 30

Personality:He is a loner, as they are called, and slow to trust others. For those he does trust, he will trust them utterly and completely. He is loyal to those who helped him on his way, but will not tolerate incompetence.

Appearance: Standing at a height of 5’10”, he is of an average height. He looks out at the world through blue eyes, yet they seem to glow at times. He has a thick head of hair, black, that covers his scalp. He has a kind face, but he is quite often the opposite of kind. He has an average frame, but not too muscular.

Meta type: Mundane
Affiliation: Syndicate
Powers/Skills: Powers: Photokinesis

He has the ability to solidify photons, or particles of light allowing him to make objects out of them. Such as barriers and such. The more complex the object, the harder it is to make.

He can also use photons to enhance himself, such as increased agility, speed, dexterity.

In only a few cases, will he be able to harness the speed of photons and have himself travel at the speed of light.

He also is able to harness photons and launch them at his opponents, effectively throwing light at others. Granted it isn’t very effective, as it is light. He could solidify it as it was launched to actually cause damage, but by itself, it’s only light.

Skills:

He is smart, of a sort. He knows quite a bit about physics, and is very mathematical. He analyzes everything.

He isn’t an athletic sort, preferring to either have others do his work or to use his ability.

Weaknesses: He only acquires his photokinesis from sources of light. Without light, no power. Likewise, he is stronger during a clear sunny day than a cloudy one, and stronger during a cloudy one than night. But even at night he can harness photons, just not as potently.

He isn’t very athletic, and he prefers others to do his bidding, or using his power, as he doesn’t fight hand-to-hand very well. But that doesn’t mean that he can’t do it, or won’t. It just means that he won’t be as good at it. But he makes up for it with his photokinesis.

Every time he uses his power, he costs him. Usually in the form of exhaustion, such as with running the speed of light. He can only do that for a few seconds, and he’ll collapse at the end. The simple act of solidifying photons don’t take much energy, but excessive use can lead to exhaustion.

Backstory: Mr. Thomson was a physics professor as his full-time job at the time. He grew up with decent wealth, and he always excelled in math and science courses. While he attended high school, his father passed away, but his mother managed to carry on supporting him. Afterwards, he attended a local university, and majored in applicable physics. One he did so, he was able to help support him, and his mother.

Then it happened. He doesn't know how it happened, or what caused it, but suddenly he was able to control photons. Of course, he had to learn to control it. There were a few accidents that happened when he first attempted to control photons. He moved away, and made a living moving from place to place. He grew to believe that the other humans were inferior to him, after how they all acted with one another.

Without any7 strong feelings for anybody else, he didn't really care if he harmed them or not. He began using those who would be forgotten, such as the homeless, to hone his powers. However, later on, he was approached by the Syndicate. They gave him an offer he couldn't refuse, so he joined there ranks. From there on, he sought to rise up in ranks, to further improve his status.

(I am really tired right now, and I just rushed up a backstory real fast.)

Just a few things. First, use a different name for your character for once (this is the second time I saw you use this name, at least) :P
Second, could you maybe cut out the stuff you didn't put in, such as the image tags and the optional stuff?
Finally, I'd probably consider this more Mundane/Mystical. Doesn't seem all that inhuman, and under Mundane it does say it encompasses the "kinesis"s. Oh, and physics professor at 24? That seems kinda unlikely, to be honest. Teacher maybe, but unless he's really really smart, he'd be too young to be a full professor (I think).
Other than that, it looks quite good, just wait for the approval of someone who isn't me.
It appears I'm an INTP-T. You're not gonna get much more about me.

More mundane than mystical, unless they can literally become light or are made of it.

Inhuman metas are monstrous, appearance and otherwise usually.

Once We Were Villains Character App
[img]Picture%20To%20Go%20Here[/img]

Secret Identity: Jaxon Montgomery
Alias: Vapor
Age: 24
Personality: Jaxon is a very calm and collected man. He is not very empathetic and doesn’t care much about anyone but himself. He frequently gets bored with doing anything besides reading a book and smoking, and will get a bit whiney and agitated when someone interrupts him from his favorite hobbies.
Appearance: Image
Meta type: Mystical
Affiliation: Syndicate
Powers/Skills: Smoke Manipulation:
Jaxon can manipulate smoke he has produced to do a great number of things. He can solidify the smoke and make it into different constructs, such as weapons or shields. He can also create illusions out of smoke that can deceive a person’s sight and touch. Jaxon’s most amazing ability, however, is being able to create minions out of smoke that are autonomous and carry out Jaxon’s orders to the best of their ability.
Weaknesses: Jaxon’s main disadvantage is that he cannot naturally create any smoke. He must constantly keep cigarettes or vape pens with him in order to use his ability. Also, the more minions Jaxon creates, the weaker all of his other powers become. Currently, Jaxon’s limit is being able to create 10 minions from smoke, which leaves him powerless to manipulate anything else.
Backstory: Jaxon grew up with a normal, boring life, just as he liked it. He was an only child, so he spent most of his time hanging out by himself. School was easy for him, so he was able to spend most of his free time playing video games, reading books, or sleeping. It was as perfect a life as Jaxon could have wished for it to be. But, that changed when he was 16 and his mother died. Not only did that leave him with more responsibilities to do, giving him less time to relax, but it also led to his father becoming an abusive alcoholic. Jaxon was physically and verbally abused by his father constantly. Most of the time, he didn’t give his father the satisfaction of displaying any sort of pain he was feeling, but eventually, he broke. It happened when he was 17 and trying to enjoy a day sitting on his bed, reading a new Harry Potter book. His dad came in, cigarette in his mouth and a beer bottle in his hand, and started trashing Jaxon’s room. He destroyed his books, his games, and then went on to beat on Jaxon. Jaxon finally broke, and in a rare fit of rage, screamed at his father. When he did this, the smoke coming out of his father’s cigarette started to conglomerate towards his neck, before changing shape into a claw and wringing the life out of the man.

After that day, Jaxon ran away from his hometown and turned to a life of petty crime in order to practice his newfound ability and get enough money to survive. Eventually, Jaxon made his way into Syndicate territory and committed theft at a couple of the stores they offered “protection” to. Instead of killing Jaxon, however, they offered him the chance to join the organization. Jason took up the offer because he hoped life as a mafia gangster gave him more time to relax than the life of a runaway criminal.

Secret Identity: Felix Mako
Alias: Genius Rouge Inventor Mako (G.R.I.M.)
Age: 19
Personality: Felix is very intelligent and very prideful of that fact. He doesn't hesitate to remind the rest of the world of this as he is almost always making remarks about how stupid everyone else is. Felix puts his trust in machines and technology before other people and would rather interact with people as rarely as possible. If one was able to gain Felix's trust then he would treat you as an equal, but this is a feat that few have achieved.
Appearance: Pictured Above
Meta type: Mystical
Affiliation: The Syndicate
Powers/Skills:
  • Technomagic- Basic level. Felix can make weapons, robots, and vehicles out of available equipment in minutes with magic, but has to focus on keeping said object(s) together. Anything made this way is noticeable weaker than Felix make manually due to being made in such a rushed manor.
  • Has a personal robot, called EXE, that is used as a body guard that is equipped with a deflector shield and a pulse cannon, and a Gyro Targeting Force Orb.
    - G.T.F.O-- EXE locks onto a target and then fires a high pressured Gyro Targeting Force Orb that homes onto and tracks the target.
    - Deflector shield can block any matter of projectile but after use, regardless of if it blocked anything or not, it has to go on a cool down for 10 seconds.
    - EXE can fire a displacement blast from its pulse riffle to push an object away from the center of the blast. Good for keeping people away or bringing them closer.
  • Incredibly intelligent
  • Skilled hacker
Weaknesses:
Felix can't make something out of nothing, he needs material to build with or else his powers are useless. He also isn't much of a fighter. Faced with a physical confrontation without any help, Felix would probably try to run away.

Backstory: When Felix was born, the signs of his intelligence was evident, this was due to his latent meta abilities. His increased intelligence helped him get though school by the age of 16 with flying colors. His life so perfect that he got bored of it and decided he need a rush. Felix used his robotic expertize to create small droids to commit crimes all over his hometown. They weren't enough to cause major damage or kill anyone but they whenever he acted, people noticed. Soon Felix found out about his powers and managed to mass produce droids on a larger scale after intense training and concentration, so Felix decided to take his show on the road and went cross country on his spree of chaos. Before he left, Felix hacked into his public records and erased his so that he went off the gird.

As he moved farther from his home, his morals became looser and his actions became more chaotic and reckless, he didn't really care because he was getting a rush from it all. Eventually his antics pissed off the wrong people and a group of thugs tried to take Felix out. Felix only saw this as a test run for his new EXE guard robot and it took out all the thugs, now it acts as Felix's bodyguard. Eventually word got out to the Syndicate about Felix's skills and they sent him an invitation, he joined them for access to a proper tech lab and resources to build gear with, in return he supplies them with new and powerful weapons and tech.

Optional:
Theme Song: Villain- Theory of A Deadman
Voice Actor: TBD
Likes/Dislikes: Likes: Technology, intelligent conversations, theatre. Dislikes: People, E.M.Ps, being bored
Fears: The possibility of a mass technological shutdown
D&D Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
I believe that madness can find more madness, and that every ounce of madness has a spark of truth. And truth, as you know, has a way of depressing people who don't want to find it.

No one is 100% honest... We all keep 20% of the truth from the world, to protect ourselves & sometimes others.

Once We Were Villains Character App

Secret Identity: Wane Mulder (rarely used)

Alias: Entropy

Age: Indeterminate

Personality: Cynical and caustic mainly, can be melancholy and maudlin if caught off-guard. Has a tendency to talk to himself and stare at the walls a lot.

Appearance: Pale skinned and sallow, limp white hair and sunken blue-grey eyes. Tall, about 1.8 m, but hunches a lot. This quickly changes to a skeletal, decaying figure if ‘unfed’ for more than an hour, or he uses his powers substantially. Likes to wear clothing fashionable in the 1930's, but its always in a state of decay.

Meta type: Inhuman

Affiliation: The Society

Powers/Skills: Wane is covered in a field, only a few centimetres in depth, that accelerates the entropy of everything within it. This causes metals to corrode, organics to rot, rocks to erode, etc. At its lowest, intrinsic level, this process is relatively weak; surfaces touched for a few minutes will have a patina of corrosion, clothes fall apart in a few days, etc.

Upon concentration, he can accelerate the entropy within the field considerably; steel will breakdown into rust in just a few seconds, rock will dissolve into sand, plastics breakdown and collapse and, worst of all, living creatures age, die and decay. Wane doesn’t eat, but he can absorb the entropy released as he breaks things down around him.

Weaknesses: The intrinsic field he exudes isn’t enough for basic sustenance and Wane must actively target an object to 'feed'. If blocked from this, or surrounded by substances with little entropic energy (substances that don’t break down easily over time like gold, amber, diamond, etc), he gets weak and powerless rather quickly.

Too much entropy, on the flip side, can cause Wane to be satiated and unable to absorb any more. The more available entropy, the faster Wane is sated; organic substances are particularly good at this. Unless Wane refrains from any absorption for a substantial amount of time his power is limited.

Oh, and the smell. Oh dear me, yes. He smells. The constant breaking down of his own body has all the usual visual and olfactory emanations. Thankfully, this stops after a few days, but then he looks like the picture above.

Backstory: Whether Wane is just a cruel mutation or the creation of a sadistic manipulator, no one knows. He himself cannot recall the time of his birth, nor the location, but he suspects it was around the Fertile Crescent, quite a while ago. Whenever or wherever it was, Wane’s powers manifested early and he was quickly labelled a pariah and cast out of whatever civilisation he originated from. Understandably, this exile caused a fair bit of resentment towards the authorities and Wane turned his disturbing, and frankly alarming, powers against them. It didn’t turn out so well for Wane as he was defeated and sealed in a quartz lined coffin, buried deep under the ground.

The entropy from the thick mineral surrounding him was just enough for Wane to subsist for many, many years until, finally, his prison was unearthed in the frenzy of archaeological digs in the early 20th century. Labelled as yet another mummy-like discovery, the nature of his sarcophagus was different enough for it to be transported to a museum in America. Once there, archaeologists, meddling with things what they should not, opened the coffin and made the mistake of touching Wane. The sudden infusion of fresh entropic energy revitalised Wane and after absorbing the energy of half a dozen museum staff members, a whole section of rare antique books and the contents of a Viking longship, he was almost back to normal.

Wane was intrigued by this new, modern world and spent the next several decades trying to keep a low profile until attracting the attention of The Society in the 1970’s. He was considered a useful, yet distasteful member of this august organisation, useful for his skills, but not loved for his personal aroma. Finally captured and fitted with a collar inhibitor before incarceration in The Rock in the early 2010's.

Likes/Dislikes: Likes Jazz, reading (although books decay too fast really) and food with strong flavours. Dislikes young people’s enthusiasm, mirrors and other people's vanity

Fears: Claustrophobia and extended lonliness (based on his long confinement in his coffin)

D&D Alignment: Neutral Evil

fixed, and added the Flavourtext to everyone.

Ok, got it. But she'll be pissed every time someone calls her that.

Regarding Meta Zionism, that's not something Leila would be much of a fan of. Her philosophy is more like classic British (and other European kinds of) imperialism, with ideas of "The Meta's Burden". She believes that normies should be the subjects (but not slaves) of benevolent* Metas.

*= From her point of view, but humans won't necessarily agree.
