I'm going to say now, mainly because the main historical event that would have given Denmark Schleswig happened after my departure from the timeline, it was also Prussia who was involved with that conflict and my history focuses mostly Bavaria before and after the Austro-Prussian war.

History:
In 1830, after the July Revolution, and the restoration of the monarchy, François-René de Chateaubriand was asked to swear allegiance. François-René de Chateaubriand refusing to submit to another "bourgeois king", instead François-René de Chateaubriand retreated to Britanny, hence secluding himself from Paris politics. At first attempting to go back to writing full time, François-René de Chateaubriand soon became overcome with his hatred for the new government and starting writing passionately against the current government. Soon François-René de Chateaubriand began speaking in local centers attracting large crowds a few of which turned to mobs assaulting various government officials. Because of these incidents, François-René de Chateaubriand was put on trial for treason against France. François-René de Chateaubriand was found guilty and sentenced to death by the noose, gagging him in fear if they allowed him last words he may start another mob. Though this would be for naught for his last words would supposedly be smuggled out of his cell by a young Ernest Renan. This statement stated, "For I may die from tyranny it does not mean tyranny may not itself die. Fight on Breton's against the French tyrants."

Soon Ernest Renan founded the Bro Breton Lev. Since then Bro Breton Lev has expanded in membership, getting its biggest increases during government upheaval. The Bro Breton Lev founded the Bro Breton Armeoù to combat "French Tyranny", the group besides providing protection carries out various assassinations on local government officials.

Culture: Extremely nationalistically Breton and anti-french. The Breton language is used by the organization and its members to prove their opposition to the French and their rule.

History: The arrival of the German Marxist Joseph Weydemeyer in 1851 from Europe was very different from our timeline. His creation of Die Revolution upon his arrival found widespread circulation among the poor German workers who could read the German-language journal, leading to Weydemeyer publishing the same journal in English with the title The Revolution, allowing a much larger audience access to the Marxist journal. The Journal was of great use to the Communists flocking to Weydemeyer, and allowed the recruitment of many Working Class individuals to the Communist cause, allowing the creation of the American Communist Party in 1857 which was headed by Weydemeyer. However by 1861 the Civil War consumed all immediate activities and plans by the budding American Communist Party as they overwhelmingly supported the unionist cause. Joseph Weydemeyer even suspended his political career in order to run a Missouri Volunteer Regiment at the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.

During the war a young Massachusetts Captain by the name of Alfred Debs became aquatinted with Weydemeyer and was soon taken in as the German immigrant's right-hand man in Communist affairs. With the Union defeat, came both a blessing and a curse, on one hand much trust in the old American system was shattered but on the other hand, after so much bloodshed in only two years there was no tolerance for anymore violent movements or revolutions in America. And so the Communists began working quietly behind the scenes, trying to win elections, build unions, and spread pro-Communist sentiment among the Proletariat. A major victory up north came with the formation of the American Labor Union by William H. Sylvis, who of course was a sympathetic individual to the Communist cause. However 1866 also marked the year that Joseph Weydemeyer would die, passing away from a heart attack, leaving his second, Alfred Debs to lead the Communist movement.

Alfred was, unlike his predecessor, much more inclined towards violent revolution...and he saw the time for such revolution readily approaching. In 1867, thanks to rapid industrialization in the South leading to a rapidly growing working class the Southern Workers' Union was founded by George Armstrong, a son of Georgian subsistence farmers with a hatred of the "Southern Aristocracy", and whom held Marxist views rather easily. In 1868 the American Socialist Resistance Movement was created, a loose network of Communist militias which were originally created from unionists looking to prevent strike-breaking by agents such as the Pinkertons. All of these events were orchestrated from behind the scenes by Alfred Debs, with much thanks to the unions which allowed Communists to freely spread their pro-worker messages and propaganda with ease, allowing a large element of these unions like the SWU and ALU to fall under Communist influence. By 1869, with the death of Sylvis and his replacement by ACP member Friedrich Strauss, the largest Unions in both the North and South were now headed by men loyal to Alfred Debs.

Now, by 1870, the ASRM has become a major pain for the Confederacy due to its attacks on plantations (and elsewhere) while its tactics of protecting strikes have hit the nerves of both the United States and Confederacy. Politically the American Communist Party is a major threat to the status quo of politics in DC with their wide support by workers giving them considerable political clout come the next elections. Elsewhere both the SWU and the ALU have been working overtime to recruit more members, and initiate coordinated strikes to force through their demands of management. In both the North and South, the propaganda machine headed by The Revolution's writers and chief editor is operating smoothly. From all these fronts, it is hoped that soon the Communists may finally find political traction...and failing that, achieve through violent revolution that which they could not by the ballot.

History: During the Second Anglo-Maratha War, the Maratha Empire was holding their own against the British East India Company. Early in the war during the First Battle of Delhi, Maratha Army managed to fight off the British forces and broke the siege of the city after three days insuring that Delhi would remain in the Empire's hands for the war. Soon after the British were defeated at the Battle of Assaye after the outnumbered British forces were overwhelmed by the combined army of Daulat Scindia and the Raja of Berar. The Battle of Assaye was the first major battle of the war and would set the tone of the war as the Maratha Empire would push back the British and the war would last till 1805. The British seeing they were losing decide to surrender and retain their holdings in India.

However in a final effort to control India. the East India Company started the Third and Final Anglo-Maratha War when the company invaded with the largest army that they have gathered in India. The war only lasted a year and it was fierce as both sides fought for control and despite the British having superior technology, The Maratha Empire gained a upper hand by using unexpected tactics and having the Empire united against them. late in the war The East India Company had requested reinforcements from the British Empire but, the British Empire would collapse when the Irish and Scottish seceded and then the England and Wales were conquered by the French. Without any support, the East India Company was forced to surrender and the Chhatrapati Shahu II of Satara, tired of British involvement in India. Expelled the British East India Company from India and absorbed all of their holdings.

After the Third Anglo-Maratha War, Chhatrapati Shahu II of Satara in a bold move to formally regain power in his empire as the Peshwas were the ones that really controlled the empire. Tried to removed them from power but caused a civil war in the process. The civil war would last four years and ended with the Chhatrapati Shahu II of Satara winning the war and gaining full control of the empire. He died soon after and his son, Bhaga Bhosle would gain the throne and under his leadership the Maratha Empire would be rejuvenated with reforms.

Now in the year 1870, the current Chhatrapat is Vasu Bhonsle and has so far proved to be a good king. Under his reign the empire has prospered and but has briefly expanded by taking over the country of Oudh. Though there is peace in the Empire. there are rumors of the Empire again seeks to expand again and that even the remaining foreign powers that are in India may be next.
