The Madhouse Role Play Group is an organization of writers, world builders, and artists of all experience levels dedicated to storytelling and mechanics-based role play games. We network together to build worlds, fashions cultures, churn out interesting role plays, and pass on knowledge. We're housed in P2TM but we also participate in other areas of NationStates, including the N&I boards.
Our offsite forum contains a resource hub, a role play hub, a place to your post your art and fiction, and a place for general chatter. We are open to hosting your organization's events as well, and successfully hosted the writing portion of the annual P2TM awards two consecutive years via our subsidiary organization, Paedagog. We have our own Region though we do not require our members to join it.
We operate two IRC channels: Discord (primary) and Espernet. Links will be provided via TG once your name has been added to our roster.
Our creed is simple: Madhouse Productions and the Madhouse Role Play Group stand by the following:
- All People have talent regardless of their experience or age - nobody is useless.
- Young People have wild imaginations not yet tempered by experience or reality - foster their passions.
- Some People are passionate about their favorite genre - this is wonderful. We welcome your passion and will never tell you that you can't play with us. We encourage our members to share their own fan fic or art on our OSF (follow the PG13 guideline) as well.
- It doesn't matter if your wonky tech is unrealistic when engaged in nation roleplay with us - you made it and it makes you happy. (Be aware that one Person's tech may not work well in a Group sharing similar tech - your hard line science jump engines will be useless in a gameverse where ships are powered by unicorn farts. If this disturbs you, you aren't forced to play the game. Likewise, unicorn-fart jump engines might not be workable in a science fiction game. Ask before signing up for a game, if in doubt.)
- Pay it forward - help when asked, be kind when interacting, follow basic etiquette.
We seek a large membership filled with people that hold a variety of interests. Diversity allows us to thrive. The larger our group, the more information we can offer to those within and outside of it. Our current membership includes official N&I and P2TM Role Play Mentors as well as talented players, writers, and artists from NationStates' varied roleplaying forums.

Membership Requirements
Any interested persons thirteen (13) years of age or older may officially join regardless of skill level provided they meet the following criteria:
- Applicant has rudimentary knowledge of basic writing techniques, and comprehension of the English language;
- Applicants coming from NationStates do not have a poor track record in Moderation (unsportsmanlike conduct, harassing, griefing etc);
- Applicant reviews the Charter, and agrees to abide by the NationStates OSRS when on NS threads, and the Madhouse Basic Rules when on the OSF/IRC channels;
- Applicant completes the introductory period requirements.
Membership Rules
- Please avoid fighting honey badgers in the quadrangle.
- Please remember to feed said quadrangle once a week.
- Respect the Coconuts. (RESPECT THEM!)
- Be good to each other.
- Follow NS rules: Don't be a dick, keep it PG-13.
- If you would like help, don't spam. Drop your request in here. We don’t expect to be a rapid fire thread, so it may take a day or two for a member to get back to you.
- NEW MEMBERS: please use a recognizable user name when logging into Discord the first time, or please identify yourself by your nation name if you already have a Discord account.
Apply to Join
In an effort to weed out "sig collectors" or those who sign up for no reason other than boredom, the application process is as follows:
- Interested persons will submit a formal application here;
- There will be a brief introductory period. Members will ask questions raging from serious to silly in an effort to get to know the applicant better. The speed in which you are approved depends entirely upon the promptness of your replies and the level of your activity in our organization over the following few days;
- Founders and Officers will review your application and activity and then make a determination. Official Membership acceptance is posted by the Admin account.
