The premise of this roleplay is simple. The entire world is in a completely different situation than it was in real life. Europeans never advanced further than Asians and the Middle East on tech, and the three are on par with each other, limiting European colonization to Australasia, the Indian Ocean, Africa and the Americas. No countries in the Americas or Africa are independent, as the great powers of the world exert strong control over their colonies. However, all of this is changing. Since the 1800s, Republicanism has began its rise, many nations being plunged into war by Republican rebels, some failed, some succeeded. Republicans are rising in the colonies, and many nationalist rebels are attempting to gain independence from their colonial overlords.
Nation Creation Guide
-No colonial empires larger than the Portuguese Empire (at it's height, 10.4m sq km)
-Every European country with a coast on the Mediterranean, the North Sea or the Atlantic, can have colonies
-Asian countries in Korea, China, Japan, Indonesia and Indochina can have colonies in the Americas and Polynesia (DOES NOT INCLUDE PHILIPPINES)
-Middle Eastern countries that have a port in modern day Yemen, Oman, Qatar or the UAE can have colonies in Africa or Asia only (including Australia)
-Keep populations and army sizes realistic
