Summary

Long ago, in a time forgotten, a preternatural event threw the seasons out of balance. In a land where summers can last decades and winters a lifetime, trouble is brewing. The cold is returning, and in the frozen wastes to the north of Winterfell, sinister and supernatural forces are massing beyond the kingdom’s protective Wall. Sweeping from a land of brutal cold to a distant summertime kingdom of epicurean plenty, here is a tale of lords and ladies, soldiers and sorcerers, assassins and bastards, who come together in a time of grim omens.

Robert Baratheon, First of His name has recently lost his dear friend, and trusted Hand of the King, Jon Arryn. Robert then traveled to Winterfell, to ask his companion Eddard Stark to be his new Hand. Eddard accepted the position in hopes of solving the mystery of Jon Arryn's death. Now, after arriving in King's Landing a great Tournament is about to thrown in celebration of naming Eddard Hand of the King. However, the game of thrones is not easily won. Soon, Robert and Eddard will face the intrigue and backstabbing of King's Landing.

Will you sit the Iron Throne, or perhaps become King of your own land? Will you take the Crown by force, or through political gain? Will you remain steadfast in the events to come, or will you fall to fire and blood?

1. The OP and Co-ops are Gods, their word is law.
2. This is a fantasy RP but try and be realistic. Travel time, combat, and politicking are all important, don't go too crazy
3. No god modding, metagaming etc.
4. This is going to be a freeform RP, time will vary between posts.
5. This will be an RP based on character development and progression, do not expect storylines to develop for you, make your own and involve other players. If you are stuck with nothing to do, OP/CO-OP will give your a task or an idea.
6. Keep the Lore restricted to A Song of Ice and Fire material only
7. Please keep characters in the Free Cities, Westeros and the Stepstones. If character is all the way over in let's say Yi Ti they wouldn't get much interaction.
8. We operate on a three strike system, three strikes and you're out
9. Have FUN

You may make your own house, however, they will be subject to stringent review, and canon houses are preferred. A new house may invent a new castle, but will not be able to take over lands or titles from a canon house. Your application will not be accepted until all fields are filled out.

*Reserved for my app, Eddard and House Stark will be claimed by me*

You may add non-canon members to the House, but they must not replace Canon members nor take their titles or positions. Characters such as Mace, Loras, Willas, Garlan, Margaery, Olenna Redwyne, Alerie Hightower, etc. cannot be replaced with a custom character.

Thus, Mace must remain the Lord Paramount of the Reach, and Crippled Willas must remain the heir.

House Targaryen cannot be played due to them being past the Free Cities, sorry. Dany is currently married to Drogo with Viserys in the Dothraki Sea.

Name: Tywin Lannister
House: House Lannister
Age: 56
Gender: Male
Titles: Lord of Casterly Rock, Shield of Lannisport, Warden of the West, Lord Paramount of the Westerlands
House Seat: Casterly Rock
House Sigil:(Picture required or description) Image
Allegiance paid to: (Eg. Bolton's to Starks, Starks to Targaryens) House Baratheon of Kings Landing
Appearance (Picture appreciated): Image
Personality: Calculating, intelligent, politically astute, ruthless, and controlling.
Skills: A proven commander and politician.
Weaponry (If any): Crimson armor, guilded with gold and having a golden cape. Armed with a steel sword.
Military Strength: 50,000 men
Biography: (At least two well written paragraphs please): Born to Tytos Lannister and Jeyen Lannister and was forced to watch as his father, a kind and gentle man, almost brought the Lannisters to ruin. Tywin would eventually be sent to Kings Landing to be a cupbearer to King Aegon V after speaking out against the wedding of Genna Lannister and Emmon Frey. There he would befriend Prince Aerys Targaryen and Steffon Baratheon, Heir to Storms End and the Stormlands. During the War of the Ninepenny Kings Tywin, a knight serving under his uncle Jason, was given the honor of knighting Prince Aerys. Hardened by war Tywin returned to Casterly Rock with his brothers Kevan and Tygett Lannister to restore Lannister honor and dominance in the Westerlands. His father protested feebly for a while before returning to the comfort of his wet-nurse/lover.

Tywin did this first by demanding all houses in the Westerlands repay their debts or send a hostage until such debt was paid. He then sent Kevan Lannister into the Westerlands with 500 veterans of the War of Ninepenny Kings to root out robbers and bandits that plagued the roads. Some complied, like Ser Harys Swift, however others did not; the most brazen of them, Lord Walderran Tarbeck rode to Casterly Rock to bully Tytos into stopping Tywin. Tywin instead met Tarbeck there and locked him in the cells for disloyalty. In return Walderran's wife Ellyn seized two Lannisters from Lannisport along with Stafford Lannister (brother to his wife) and demanded Walderran's release. Tytos then leapt into action, ignoring Tywin's suggestion to send Walderran back in three pieces (one for every captured Lannister) and released him unharmed, even going so far as to forgive their debt to House Lannister. Tywin however was having none of that and decided to take matters into his own hands.

In 261 Tywin ordered the Tarbecks and Reyne's (who were also giving the Lannisters the finger) and demanded they answer for their crimes. Both instead revolted, as Tywin expected, and rescinded their fealty to House Lannister. They would be made a perfect example to those thinking of going against Tywin or the Lannisters for generations to come. Tywin put himself in command of a pre-raised army and then marched to utterly demolish the upstarts and finally reassert Lannister dominance. The resulting revolt ended with Tywin exterminating House Reyne and Tarbeck, razing their holds to demonstrate to the rest of the Westerlands what happens to those who defy the Lion. So effective was his victory was a song written about it called fittingly "The Rains of Castamere". When Lord Farman of Faircastle would later get uppity Tywin sent him a lute and had the Rains of Castamere plaid for him, Farman caused no more trouble.

Tytos finally died when his heart burst in 267 making Tywin ruler of the Westerlands and patriarch of House Lannister. His old friend Prince, now King Aerys II chose Tywin to be his Hand of the King. At least partly for his brutality in crushing the Reyne - Tarbeck Revolt. In the early years the realm prospered as the King put a public face on Tywin's rule. While he held balls and dealt with other such kingly duties, Tywin set about making Westeros prosper. For twenty years did Tywin basically run Westeros behind the scenes. So influential was he that many joked that he was the actual King and Aerys just his puppet. This made Aerys jealous of his success and began to undermine him at every turn, not to mention Aerys wanted to sleep with his wife. In 276, in an attempt to mend the rift between them, Tywin held a tourney at Lannisport to celebrate the birth of Prince Viserys birth. While the king was at the tourney Tywin proposed his daughter Cersei to Aery's son Rhaegar but the King refused and insulted him by saying Cersei did not deserve to marry Rhaegar. In 281 Tywin's first son Jamie was raised to the Kingsguard and made unable to inherit the Westerlands, making the heir the Imp Tyrion. As a result of this, and other slights, Tywin resigned as Hand and rode back to the Westerlands to rule. In 273 his wife, Joanna Lannister, died giving birth to the dwarf Tyrion. Along with her it is said that the best part of Tywin died; and he has not smiled since. Tywin would come to despise Tyrion, not only for his whoring and promiscuity but also blaming him for the death of his beloved.

As Aerys descended into madness and Roberts Rebellion broke out in 242 Tywin ignored Aerys order to take up arms, instead waiting to join the winning side. That side became ever more apparent as Robert and his rebels won many early victories. After Robert won at the Trident and even killed Prince Rhaegar, Roberts victory was basically assured. Tywin then chose to finally act and marched to Kings Landing, asking to be let in to help defend the city. Even though his Spymaster Viserys advised against it Aerys let Tywin and his army in. Tywin and his army then sacked Kings Landing in Roberts name, his son Jamie even killed King Aerys himself along with his Hand of the King. However among the dead was also Aerys's wife Elia of Dorne and her young children Rhaeneys and Aegon who were brutally killed by Gregor 'The Mountain' Clegane under Tywin's orders; earning him the eternal hatred of the Dornish. When Targaryen forces finally surrendered in Tywin was congratulated for his victory by the now King Robert by having his daughter Cersei wed to Robert and they would have three children. In 289 the Greyjoys rebelled against King Robert by burning the Lannister fleet in Lannisport, Victarion Greyjoy even personally throwing the first torch onto Tywin's flagship. During the Rebellion Tywins seat at Casterly Rock would become the cell for Aeron Greyjoy who was captured when Stannis ambushed his fleet. When Balon was finally forced to bend the knee in 289, Lannisport was host to a great celebratory tourney. That all was the past and now House Lannister is one of the most powerful in Westeros. Tywin is prepared to do anything to make sure it stays that way.
RP Example: (see last thread)
Notes: I will probably also control Jamie as well as Tywin.

Name: Mace Tyrell
Age: 43 (Born: 256)
Gender: Male
Titles: Lord of Highgarden, Defender of the Marches, High Marshal of the Reach, Warden of the South, Lord Paramount of the Mander
Appearance: He is a handsome man, whose once-powerful frame has given itself over to fat from his luxurious lifestyle. He has the curly brown hair of his ancestors, with a well-shaped beard.
Personality: An ambitious man, with a sense of entitlement that is at odds with his practical ability to achieve his goals.
Skills: Very well educated in modern theories of charisma, administration and warfare. However that does not mean he is good at practical application, relying on the ability of his underlings to do as such.
Weaponry: best plate and arms money can buy.
Biography: His father died when he was a young man, chasing after a bird when he overran a cliff. Since that day Mace never had a father figure, instead possessing an overbearing mother who believed him incapable of rule. She is a fool herself, too blinded by her arrogance to see that her firstborn is one of the finest noblemen there are in the realm.

He served gallantly during the War of the Usurper, driving back the rebel army at Ashford before carefully distancing himself from the rest of the war. Besieging Storm's End, Mace was able to save the lives of most of his followers before Lord Eddard Stark accepted their formal surrender.

Since the war Mace has kept his family out of the violent political maneuverings of the Lannisters, who dominate the courts. As such he has seen his land prosper, with strong connections to his bannermen set to make the Reach one of the most stable regions in Westeros.

Take that mother

Jesus guys, ever heard of spoilers? Either way, on to the apps.

Kernan wrote:Age: 41

Okay, this will be accepted, just need these issues corrected.
Age: He was born 242 AC, the current year is 298 AC. Thus he is 56.
Titles: Don't forget to include Lord Paramount of the Westerlands
House Seat: Tywin does not run Lannisport, at least not directly. Tywin's seat is Casterly Rock, while House Lannister of Lannisport runs Lannisport.
Allegiance Paid to While Tywin is after the continued success of his house he still pays allegiance to House Baratheon of King's Landing.
Military Strength: The Westerlands can raise fifty thousand, not eighty.
Biography: Just change that little minor mistake of stating that Steffon was heir to the Westerlands.

Fix these issues, and you're accepted.

You didn't have to list the high lords of the Reach. We pretty much know that the Reach can make about 100,000 if everybody answers the call. Either way, it's very unique and stylish.

Appearance:

Personality: Patient, cunning, cautious, highly intelligent, calm, gout ridden.
Skills: An incredibly skilled politician, extremely cunning, and able to craft plans years in advance. Military tactics are strong, but actually fighting is often done by Prince Oberyn.
Weaponry: N/A
Military Strength: Dorne can muster some 25,000 men, but rumors persist their real strength is 50,000.
Biography: Doran was the first born child of his parents, and thus heir to his mother, the Princess of Dorne. For years, he was an only child, as his mother had several miscarriages. While he would have four siblings, Mors and Olyvar, both died in the cradle. Doran spent several years of his childhood at the Water Gardens, and by the age of nine, he was a squire to Lord Gargalen at Salt Shore. While there, his mother gave birth to his sister, Elia. As Elia had been born one month premature, Doran was convinced that his sister too would die, as their brothers had done before, but she survived. A year later, Doran's brother Oberyn was born.

As a young man, Doran took a tour through the Free Cities. He visited Volantis, and next went to Norvos, where he met his future wife, Lady Mellario. They fell in love and Mellario returned to Dorne with Doran, where they were betrothed. In 273 AC, when his mother, her consort, and Doran's two younger siblings traveled through the south of Seven Kingdoms on a quest to find suitable matches for Elia and Oberyn, Doran stayed behind as castellan of Sunspear, with Mellario. Although Mellario was high born enough to become his wife, most marriages between nobles in Westeros are political. A love match is very uncommon. In 276 AC, Doran and Mellario's first child, Arianne, was born. Around 279 AC, Doran inherited the rule of Dorne.

Doran's sister Elia Martell was betrothed to Crown Prince Rhaegar Targaryen in early 279 AC, and wed him a year later. She had two young children by Rhaegar, Rhaenys and Aegon. When Rhaegar disappeared with Lyanna Stark in 282 AC, not long after Aegon's birth, it started a chain of events leading to Robert's Rebellion, in which the North, and several houses from the stormlands and Vale (later joined by several houses from the riverlands) fought against the Iron Throne and House Targaryen. Doran was furious about the way Elia had been treated by Rhaegar, and as a consequence was slow to lend any aid to the Targaryens. After Rhaegar returned from the south to King's Landing, Doran agreed to send ten thousand Dornishmen to fight in the loyalist army, under the command of his uncle, Prince Lewyn Martell of the Kingsguard, understanding that Elia, as the wife to the crown prince, would one day become Queen, and that her son Aegon would one day be King.

However, Rhaegar died at the Battle of the Trident, as did Doran's uncle, Lewyn, and King Aerys II Targaryen, believing that Lewyn had betrayed Rhaegar on the Trident, refused to send Elia and her children to Dragonstone alongside his own wife, Queen Rhaella Targaryen, and their son Viserys. Not long after, during the Sack of King's Landing, Elia and her children were brutally killed by Gregor Clegane and Amory Lorch, men from the Lannister host. The new King, Robert I Baratheon, was accepting of their deaths. As a consequence, Doran's brother Oberyn attempted to raise a rebellion for Viserys during the year after the rebellion, but the new Hand of the King, Lord Jon Arryn, traveled to Sunspear to return Prince Lewyn's bones, and spoke with Doran, ending all talks of rebellion.

However, Doran desired revenge for the deaths of Elia and her children as well, and for this purpose, worked closely together with his brother Oberyn for years, planning on destroying all that Lord Tywin Lannister holds dear, before killing him as well. To this end, Oberyn travelled to Braavos, where Ser Willem Darry had fled to with Viserys and Daenerys Targaryen. A secret pact was made, with Oberyn signing for Dorne, and with the Sealord of Braavos as a witness, betrothing Doran's daughter Arianne to the exiled King Viserys.

Doran also sent his son Quentyn, born in 281 AC, to serve Lord Ormond Yronwood as a page, and later squire. Quentyn's fostering was done to make peace with the Yronwoods, as enmity between the two houses had arisen after the death of Lord Edgar Yronwood. However, this caused another strain on Doran's marriage to Mellario. Although they had married out of love, their marriage had not been very happy. Mellario had not been able to get used to the Dornish customs, which were so different from the Norvoshi customs. As such, Mellario did not approve of Quentyn's fostering, which is not common in Norvoshi culture, believing her son to be much too young at the time. When Doran, after sending Quentyn to Yronwood, planned to send Arianne to Tyrosh to serve as the cupbearer to the Archon of Tyrosh, which would have enabled her to meet her betrothed in secret, Mellario threatened to harm herself, should Doran steal another one of her children. Not wanting to hurt his wife, Doran thus kept Arianne in Dorne. Doran and his wife had a third child, Trystane, who was born in 287 AC. However, Doran and Mellario's marriage continued to detoriate, and she would never forgive Doran for sending Quentyn away. Eventually, she went back to Norvos.

Doran eventually became afflicted with gout. In 298 AC, when still capable of walking, albeitly with a stick, Doran moved from Sunspear to the Water Gardens. Two years later, however, Doran's gout has become far worse, and he is no longer able to walk, but instead is usually confined to a wheelchair. Not wanting his enemies to know how feeble he has grown, he remained at the Water Gardens, where he is far away from curious eyes. At the Water Gardens, the summer home of the Martells, he prefers to watch the children at their play, sitting quietly on the terras amongst the orange trees. He only sees his trusted courtiers and advisors, summoning his brother Oberyn twice every fortnight, and his daughter Arianne twice a year.

Is it possible to play as WW?

This is the first of my puppets, with which I was proud about. I have been a NS dweller since 2016. (Or perhaps even earlier) And yeah, this is a half-serious nation.

By WW you mean the Others? (White Walkers) and no, this is south of the wall only. Perhaps at a later point I'll do a Other invasion.

Ohh, I wanted to write a Night King application, because I think, that would be cool to RP as a bad guy. Anyway, when others will invade, can I join as a Night King?

To explain the fact that I got math wrong, I cannot do math. I also did think that the Westerlands could raise 50,000 but decided against putting it down. Just goes to show what happens when I go against my gut. Anyway, I edited it and put it in a spoiler so as not to take up a bunch of room.

Approx Number of military at command:1500 Soldiers
History of the House (At least two well written paragraphs please):
House Trioch of Eaglesford is a House that has been ever ready to serve. They rose to prominence in the time of Aegon the Conqueror with their actions as stewards for the Rosbys. Urging them to be quick about bending the knee to Aegon lest they be found wanting. The Trioch name was made in the service of the Old Gods though they were under House Hoare. The founder of the House was knighted by the Lord of Rosby when Aegon took over and the Trioches were knights for many generations serving the House of Rosby until the time of the Blackfyre Rebellion. In the Aftermath of the rebellion they were given jurisdiction over the place where Daemon Blackfyres castle once stood. They built their seat across the river from where Dragonstounge was. The Trioches had served as stewards to the Black Dragon many proclaimed. The answer as to how they survived is closely guarded by the House.

In this current age the House of Trioch a proud family that owed everything to the Targaryens and was loyal to the house during the time of Roberts Rebellion. They bent the knee when the war was lost and pledged their fealty to Robert Baratheon fighting with honor and distinction in the bloody war for Great Wyck under the Lord Commander of Robert Baratheons Kingsguard, the last of the Targaryen whitecloaks with his honor in tact. The Triochs were appalled at the deaths of Elia and her children and respect the Starks for their actions.

Question: Are/Can we playing characters that already exist? Either way, reserving House Lannister.

Yes, I would prefer if you played characters that already exist. However, Lannister is already taken.

Grejoy is reserved.

Houses Martell, Lannister, Stark, Tyrell and Robert Baratheon are taken (Robert is only being played by me until his eventual death)
