About the Grey Wardens

The Grey Wardens are an order of warriors of exceptional ability, dedicated to fighting the Darkspawn (Raiders) throughout Nationstates. The Grey Wardens are known for ignoring a recruit's racial, social, national, and even criminal background if they deem the person valuable in terms of character or ability. In the sense of the game, this means that we will accept anyone who wishes to serve, within reasonable limitations. Former invaders are also welcome as long as they stay true to the Wardens and our cause. Many of our best warriors have come from the Darkspawn path, and we look forward to seeing more leave the Darkspawn to join our ranks. It is the goal of this order to efficiently defeat as many invaders as possible, and as frequently, as needed. We are not the white knights who clamor for the approval of our peers. We embrace the darkness and shall follow our enemy wherever they attempt to spread the blight so as to extinguish them.

Thanks Escade! Funny enough, I didn't know shit about Dragon Age before I joined The Wardens haha. To be fair though, I have since played Origins/Awakening and learned a fair bit of Warden lore!

I still gotta, but just looking at the game makes me reee since it's so dated. I'll probably just buy Inquisition or wait for the next one to come out so I can actually enjoy the gameplay/graphics/engine.

Admittedly, I really just never liked DA lore, not because of anything specific, but that it was created like less than ten years ago specifically for a video game. Then I realized that's exactly how the Elder Scrolls was created. So I guess my beef with Dragon Age is over. Now if someone wants to start a TES R/D org, I would join in a heartbeat.

To be fair, if you're on PC it looks pretty good still. Sure it's not 2017 Graphics, but they're nothing to complain about ultimately. I'd strongly recommend trying it out, and this is coming from a long time DA holdout haha.

I have not finished Inquisition yet (mostly due to I kept dying against the giants shadow things and timing) but I've also played a lot of older games way past when they came out due to an interest in RP gaming and not that many to choose from. If the story is good, I can deal with lesser graphics. DA also has places like Orlais and Tevinter that I developed head cannons for.

More games that were like movies but with choices and alternate endings would be amazing.

I'm actually not, I am a huge Dragon Age fan and I thought the 2nd game was much better than given credit for.

My biggest issue with DA:II from what I've seen from it is that it's just not a very good PC Port, which is a huge shame because I have no intent on shelling out for a console version. Hawke's a cool character though, a lot more built up just because of how the character is developed in comparison to The Warden and The Inquisitor but yeah. Inquisition does look cool, but I just haven't gotten around to playing it yet as I'm finally finishing up the parts of Origins (DLC and such) that I never beat on the first round.

I agree the second game was great. The problem with Dragon Age is that people dump on II for the gameplay issues that plagued the series as a whole. The port was bad because of its place in the console push, and that's all. I actually think it was one of the better written games in the series, with more likeable characters, a nice, personal plot to get invested in, and it's a good change of scale for a series that really needed to get from "These are the big problems of the world" to "this is what people actually feel about them and how they impact their day-to-day lives." It does what it was written to do very well.
