Maltak-Korvan Activist Raises Awareness of Maltakyan Refugee Plight
Actress and human rights advocate Anya Millaud was in Constantine over the weekend to address the National Assembly on the growing Maltakyan refugee problem.

Constantine, Republic of Korva - Award winning actress Anya Millaud traveled to the capital of the Republic of Korva to present her case for increasing the budget of the Korvan Office of Resettlement. The embattled bureau has seen criticism from both sides of the political spectrum as it has struggled to rehabilitate and relocate Maltakyan migrants. Ms. Millaud's remarks to the National Assembly stressed the importance of timely resettlement in determining the likelihood of successful integration. The actress herself came to Korva as a refugee in 2009 in the midst of the infamous Novembrist Purge. Ms. Millaud has sought to parlay her fame into a means to increase awareness of the issues facing the poverty stricken people of Maltakya.

Immigration experts estimate that several hundred Maltakyans attempt a border crossing each month, but only a fraction of those succeed. The majority of attempts end in tragedy, death at the hands of Maltakyan Border Guards or detention and an uncertain fate in the Maltakyan prison system. Those who succeed in reaching the Republic of Korva are often faced with suspicion, from authorities wary of Maltakyan spies and from Korvan laborers who face competition from the refugees.

The People's Republic of Maltakya is currently experiencing one of its worst famines in recent history. While facts and figures are hard to come by, the regime is notoriously repressive, observers have estimated that nearly 1/3 of its population is approaching starvation. Regional non-profits and aid organizations have been unable to offer effective assistance, as Maltakyan Border Guards refuse to allow entry to non-nationals. Maltakya has been wracked by a number of famines over the last century, as central planners vacillate between promoting industrial or agricultural growth. This cycle of agricultural neglect, coupled with a population bubble attributed to an incentives based Pro-Natalist ᚹрмия Mетрᛝполᛣи (Home Army) Policy has led to disaster. The Home Army, which introduced a tax on childlessness as well as preferential housing for families, was mandated in the early 1980's. Since then the population of Maltakya has exploded, leading some experts to fear that the population of 53 million Maltakyans may have outstripped the nation's capacity for food production. This issue has only been compounded by an unusually harsh winter and the regime's ban on non-staple food imports.

ESADA successfully launches Observer 2 weather satellite.
Elektrogradian Space Administration and Development Agency puts second global warming research satellite in orbit.

Rocket carrying the satellite blasts off one of the the Iskry Cosmoport launchpads.

Iskry, Elektrogradian Commonwealth - Elektrograd once again contributes to the joint effort of combating global warming. Two advanced weather satellites have been put in the orbit above Karaban in order to monitor global changes in temperature. Data collected by them will be distributed among over a dozen scientific institutions and universities involved in the project. Following research, if successful, will provide a deeper understanding of this dangerous phenomenon.

Both launches also serve as testing ground for a number of new technologies. Compact calculating units, antennas and photovoltaic panels developed by a team from Irydan Politechnika and Gaillac University of Technology and many other will be used in future missions, including the planned for 2025 manned flight to Khessar.

The 2006 decision of extending the funds and further government's endorsement of ESADA still doesn't bode well with some, as evidenced by yesterday's peaceful demonstration in front of the Parliament. Led by the members of democratic socialist party Naprzód ("Forward"), the crowd marched through the Iryda's main street. Protesters demanded scrapping the space programme, according to the leader of the party - Volk Żmijewski, the money would go to helping the poorest and raising the minimal wage. Later that day a post appeared on Brombus and Fishbook profiles of the party: "Walking on the space rock wasn't a giant leap, us, standing there, demanding to bring down the money burning monster, that's a giant leap!".

Kingdom of Aleania Transitions to a Republic
The Kingdom of Aleania is currently transitioning from a kingdom to a republic as per the will of King Adolph von Turmburg.

Turmburg, Republic of Aleania - After the death of King Adolph von Turmburg last week it was revealed that he had decreed the end of the Kingdom in his will, stating that power should be put into the hands of the people. The new form of government will be a full Federal Republic with a constitution that is to be voted on via referendum next week. In the mean while the Premier Maria Bergner and her current cabinet shall serve as an interim government until elections on the 1st of April.

Aleania has been a Kingdom since 1482 after the overthrow of the Republican Trade Leagues by Rudolf the Conqueror. Various attempts to bring back democracy to the isles mostly failed until 1856 when a general strike coinciding with most of the army and police threatening a coup forced the creation of a constitutional monarchy. However, many advocates of democracy criticized these reforms as significant power still remained in the monarch's hands such as veto powers, selecting the premier's cabinet and upper house. As such, this will be the first time in Aleanian history that the isles will be under a fully democratic system with an elected head of state, elected upper and lower houses, term limits and votes for all citizens and not just land owners. All those who hold Guild Certifications, Degrees, or who have been in public service will be able to vote. This defacto gives everyone over the age of 18 the ability to vote with the youngest possible voter being 16.

Royalists have attacked this system as not being strong enough to make the decisions needed to govern due to it "turning government into a popularity contest". The Premier, who is believed to have been one of the four other co-authors of the new constitution besides the King, has refuted these statements as "hideously incorrect" and "blatant attempts to stir up fear so they can maintain their power and wealth at the expense of the Aleanian people."

The Elektrogradian Government has said in a statement this morning that "Elektrograd applauds and congratulates Aleanians on their new and democratic government." Similar statements from the Republic of Korva and other governments followed.

The Oracle commends new 'Essence' temple
The Oracle regards new 'Essence' temple in southern Tekeristan as a "fine achievement of human creativity and spirituality".

Restorations and Additions have finally made progress

Serene City, Serenity of Tekeristan - As the construction and restoration of the "Essence of Grass" Temple in southern Tekeristan reaches completion, the Oracle has released a public statement commending the effort as a "fine example of both human creativity and faith".

The "Essence of Grass" temple stands as a historic land mark in the plains of southern Tekeristan. As a site of several historic battles in Tekeri history, including the 'Battle of Blades' which saw the temples near total destruction, it also stands as the launching point of the Arauzen faith into southern Tekeristan. The temple, built partially above and below ground, was constructed to honor the spirits of the southern plains. The Old Temple guard unit once responsible for defending the temple has been revived of their duty.

New additions had been added to the reconstruction projects, however, such as modern amenities, modern architectural changes, and additional shrines. Green glass, which was scarce in southern Tekeristan, has also seen wider implementation with the more native stones making its construction. A new light rail system had also been introduced in order to reduce traffic flow to the site.

While the project had seen seen long delays in the past, most notably after the 'Glassen Bombing' incident by the 'Oredistai Liberation Front' a few years ago, many are satisfied to see the project coming to a close. After millions of dollars of investment from both the public and the Faith and nearly a decade of effort reservations have been booked for months to come. The temple is expected to become open to the public within the following days.

Monetan Fisheries Management Accord Finalizes 2017 Catch Limits
MFMA agrees to lessen catch limits in return for a more robust bycatch observer program.

Iovati, Republic of Korva - Officials of the Monetan Fisheries Management Accord (MFMA) announced today that they had concluded negotiations for 2017-2018 catch limits. Much debate surrounded the measures used to gauge fishery recovery and accusations of unfair implementation plagued early rounds of discussion. Korvan Prime Minister Siran Roux provided a statement to the press reaffirming her support for the regional fishery management group and expressing her confidence that the negotiated terms would not disfavor the Korvan fishing industry. The success of today's outcome was key for Ms. Roux, who campaigned on a platform of honoring the Republic of Korva's international obligations.

According to details released to the press, the 2017-2018 Official Catch Limit will have relaxed tonnage limits for all member states though the bycatch observer requirement is likely to be more rigorously enforced. Bycatch observance measures are considered unpopular among the fishing community, who often resent what is seen as the the imposition of foreign bureaucrats. Nevertheless, the MFMA has steadily expanded the breadth of their bycatch avoidance program to combat incidental harm to at-risk marine species.

The MFMA administers to the waters and fisheries of its member states via catch limits, technology standards, and bycatch restrictions. It was formed in 1992 in response to widespread overfishing which resulted in depletion of the majority of the fisheries off the Western Monetan coast. Today the Monetan Fisheries Management Accord is composed of numerous partner nations and five voting members: the Republic of Korva, the Elektrogradian Commonwealth, the Federal Republic of Gradavolka, the Democratic Republic of Aleania, and the Serene Republic of Tekeristan. According to the MFMA, the total number of overfished and at-risk fisheries has declined from 47 in 1995 to just 18 as of 2017. These results have not come without cost, and many fishing industry lobbying groups have signaled discontent with the often harsh restrictions imposed by the MFMA.

Galmarch Frigate Avvinturosi Ends World Tour

Altezza, Kingdom of Galmarch - For two years the replica of a 18th century frigate has been on a voyage around the world, visiting numerous cities in Galmarch and internationally.
The ship called Avvinturosi (Adventurous) is built to the same specifications and techniques as during the age of sail. The ship is equipped with a diesel engine for the safety of the crew but the ship has mainly been using its large sails to travel. The Avvinturosi was originally a project financed by investors and enthusiasts and later also funded though tax payers money, the build took eight years to finish, mainly due to lack of funds in the early years.

The voyage started from Altezza, Galmarch and proceeded up the Graf Channel, visiting numerous coastal cities in Galmarch, Tekeristan and Korva. Where it stayed in Constantine before continuing its journey, visiting Iryda in the Elekrogradian Commonwealth and further to other countries. The ship is crewed by eighty persons, while the original would be crewed by one hundred and thirty. The crew who are replaced a year into the voyage were drawn from fans of the project but also proffessional sailors.

While there has been criticism to the project, mainly stemming from how long it took to complete and the use of tax money to pay for it. Most people would probably agree that this has been a great opportunity to showcase to people, not only in Galmarch but the rest of the world on how it would have been like when these ships sailed the seas, waging war or trading goods. After this voyage, the ship will stay in port for maintenance but also to serve as a museum. Until it is time to sail once again.

Korvan Game Developer Celebrates Record Sales

Sete-Bezier, Republic of Korva - Korvan game development company Eris Studios are celebrating record sales numbers of their of newly released epic role playing game (RPG) WYST:The War of the Lilies. The title blends elements of action-RPGs and strategy-RPGs with an open world. Wyst was released simultaneously worldwide for PC and the Polaris gaming console on February 1 of this year. This is the first game from Eris Studios since Blood Horizon, a post-modern cyberpunk RPG released exclusively for PC in 2012. Each year Eris Studios receives a generous endowment from the Korvan Center for the Arts, which subsidizes Korvan companies engaged in promoting and exporting Korvan culture.

MNC reporters visited the Eris HQ prior to release, where lead creative designer Stuard Arbes had this to say about Wyst:

“We were excited to be able to work on this, it was really a dream project. By combining two distinct genres we have been able to develop a world that truly scales with the player. You can really do just about anything, from crafting your own armor, to taming creatures, to mountain climbing! Mainly, our big goal actually, was to craft a story where your decisions matter and I think you are going to love what we pulled off.”

Wyst has sold over 2 million copies across both platforms in the four weeks since its release, handily outperforming other titles released during that time. Critics have lauded the art style of the game as well as its expansive environs, which according to the developers cover some 75km2. The game was considered by some to be a risky venture for Eris, as the developers had never before released a strategy game. Review aggregating site MegaKritique shows a 9.5/10 average score for the game. Eris Studios is a popular Korvan game developer noted for enmeshing elements of Korvan mythology and folklore into their sprawling RPGs. The developer has not been without controversy however, as their games often feature complex and adult themes. Wyst: The War of the Lilies has been rated M for Mature by the Monetan Concerned Parents League for gore, violence, use of alcohol, sexual themes, nudity, and language.

Gradavolkan and Elektrogradian Oil Rights
Gradavolka and Elektrograd hold meeting over new oil field found that was previously unreachable in Rotunda Strait

One of six oil platforms in Gradavolkan waters.

Novograd, Federal Republic of Gradavolka - It was on February 26,2017 when a survey ship from the Elektrogradian Commonwealth in conjunction with a survey ship from Federal Republic of Gradavolka discovered a vast field of oil laying deep under the seafloor of the Rotunda Strait. This field was previously unreachable due to older seismic survey systems being unable to detect the deposit and the limited drilling capabilities of both Elektrogradian and Gradavolkan platforms. This discovery will prove to be beneficial for both nations in the long run, but for now, representatives of Gradavolka and Elektrograd are holding meeting in Iryda, Elektrogradian Commonwealth to start drawing up plans of how the two will divide the field between the two nation's oil companies.

There has been some times in the history between the two nations where disputes over oil rights in Rotunda Strait have erupted but thanks to level headed dialogue between the two parliaments, these disputes never got as far as the doors of the government buildings instead of turning into gunboat diplomacy between the two. This however has the possibility of causing more disputes due to the deposit being located in close to the territorial waters of both countries, but in advance of the formal meeting, the two nations have drawn out a agreement to have full cooperation and to respect each others claims and to keep said claims close to the nation operating them.

Constantine Metropolitan Rail Authority Receives New Trains

Newly delivered CM-07 operating in Constantine. (CMRA)

Constantine, Republic of Korva - The Constantine Metropolitan Rail Authority (CMRA) has begun the complex process of replacing its outdated metro trains with newly manufactured CM-07's produced by Couronne Manufacturing. These new trains were developed in cooperation with the Elektrogradian Commonwealth, which supplied the traction system as well as various electrical components. The adoption of the CM-07 represents a significant leap in quality for the CMRA and is certain to be appreciated by daily commuters in the nation's capital of Constantine. For nearly 3 decades the Rail Authority had made-do with the CM-89, a last generation metro rail train with less than stellar attributes.

The CM-07 offers greater passenger capacity per train set than older models, each 5-car trainset is capable of carrying 557 commuters in comfort. Innovations in braking systems, along with air-conditioning, will provide for a much more comfortable experience compared to previous trains operated by the CMRA. Additionally, according to Couronne Manufacturing, advances in traction technology promise to yield a 30% reduction in energy consumption.

Nearly 805 cars, or 161 trainsets, have been ordered by the Rail Authority, with an option for an additional 60 cars. Lines 1 through 3 are set to receive the first deliveries, after which new deliveries will cascade to the rest of the lines in service. Officials have expressed hope that a revitalized metro system will help alleviate the growing problem of traffic in Constantine. The Metro Rail Authorities of Cervetari and Gaillac have also expressed interest in the CM-07, though they are not expected to place any orders for an additional two years, as neither city has terminated their bidding processes.

Turmburg, Republic of Aleania - Campaigning has just begun for lower house elections in Aleania. This is the first time there has been a fully elected government since 1856 and this set of elections will likely dictate the course of the country over the next century. So as is this is so important, we here at RNN have decided to give people here and overseas a run down of the parties and the lower house.

What can the Lower House do?
The Lower House can propose legislation to be turned into law. If it passes a majority in the Lower House it will be sent to the Upper House for another round of voting. Legislation has to pass through both houses in order to become law. Legislation can then be vetoed by the Premier, but if the same legislation passes through both houses again by at least a two-thirds majority it can become law without the Premier's signature.

How and when are they elected?
The Lower House will have half it's seats go up for election every two years. The elections will be done using a two-round voting system, where only two candidates get through to the second round. Each state has one Lower House seat for every 100,000 people. This brings the total number of seats up to 580. Lower House members will serve two year terms and will only be able to serve for a maximum of eight. Due to this year being the first time there has been an elected Lower House, all seats will be up for election on Aprail 31st, with half receiving a two year boost in order to keep Lower House elections spread out in the future. Exactly who's seats these are will be split between the parties using the same ratio that they came into power with.

What are the parties?
There are three major parties:
The Democratic Centrist Party - Founded by the current Premier and co-author of the new constitution, Maria Bergner. They are running on the platform for more welfare and defence spending, funded entirely by taxes on the rich. They have faced opposition from the right that these taxes on the rich will harm the economy, but the DCP has already pointed out that similar actions have worked very successfully in other countries such as the Republic of Korva.

The Democratic Socialist Party of Aleania - Founded by the very left leaning democracy campaigner, Peter Gingold. They are running on the platform for increased government spending, major taxes on private companies and the rich, as well as the the transfer of huge amounts of private land and companies (mostly power, banks and manufacturing companies) into government control. They have been criticised for being far too authoritarian and their policies being economically damaging.

The Imperial Royalist Party - Founded informally centuries ago by the Lords who controlled the government under the old monarchs, this party is anti-democracy and often described as "diet fascist" due to its autocratic and militaristic leanings. They want to repeal the constitution and go back to having a monarchy or having all positions in government be given by birth right, and not elected.

You can find out who is running in your area here.

Valete Circuit Prepares to Host MotoGP Cup
The capital city of Povtar is bracing for a frenzied weekend of crowds, media, and racers as final preparations are made for the MotoGP Cup.

Valete, Republic of Povtar - The 2016-2017 MotoGP season is set to conclude this weekend in Valete, despite a tumultuous year of cheating scandals, racing accidents, and heated tempers among the teams. Only three racers are in the running to take home the championship: Polarbau teammates Arkady Ledsek and Łukasz Gronski as well as Castur rider Remi Brait. Whoever wins, there will be no love lost between Brait and Ledsek, whose rivalry on the course stretches back years. Remi Brait, the sole rider for Castur, is in his second year at the MotoGP class whereas the Polarbau team has a combined twenty years of experience. Mr. Brait is a rising star in the sport and took home second to Ledsek's Grand Championship win during the controversial finale of the 2015-2016 season.

The drama surrounding the race is equaled only by the dramatics involved with hosting the competition, as citizens of Valete bemoan road closures, an overbooked airport, and throngs of tourists. Concerned citizens, many of whom took to the streets when Valete first won the bid to host the MotoGP Cup, have made their feelings known by demonstrating outside of both Valete Circuit and the Governor's Mansion. Protestors have complained that the expense, pollution, and disruption to daily life that occurs due to the Cup far outweighs temporary boosts to the hospitality industry. Nevertheless, tourism is a major driver of the Povtarian economy and the nation's government is ever-eager to secure major events as a means to draw additional visitors.

The landlocked nation of Povtar is famed for its picturesque villages and vistas which draw millions of tourists each year. However, many citizens complain that not enough has been done to develop or diversify other industries. As such, it is argued that larger nations, like the neighboring Republic of Galmarch, operate as a brain drain for young Povtarians who seek to pursue higher levels of employment. Events like this week's MotoGP Cup strike many Povtarians as vanity projects which provide the nation will no sustainable path towards economic maturity.

Oil tanker Lavorsbora docks at a oil refining plant in Commencement Bay, Esthenost

Sierra-Delta Natural Gas Field, Republic of Esthenost - Today, the fifth platform in the Sierra-Delta Natural Gas Field, 'Sierra-Echo', owned by the natural gas and oil magnate 'United Energy Inc.' has finished construction and is expected to begin production in the next two weeks. The Sierra-Echo natural gas platform will be located about three miles from it's nearest fellow platform, Sierra-Delta, and will be connected to the Valens-Winslow pipeline which connects the five platforms to the mainland 46 miles away.

The Sierra-Echo natural gas platform began construction about four years ago, and was continuously delayed by internal company difficulties as well as issues with the companies tasked with building the platform, but it has now finally overcome such issues. Sierra-Echo, according to exploration of the site prior to construction will produce about 33 million cubic feet of natural gas per year. The government of Esthenost profits massively off it's booming natural gas industry, and this new platform should quickly pay itself off within the first five years or so, after which it will only profit United Energy, and by proxy, the economy of Esthenost.

About 160 workers will be stationed on the natural gas platform, rotating every three weeks with another group of workers. United Energy's stock has risen about forty points since the announcement of the platform's completion and beginning of production in two weeks. Economic experts said they expected United Energy stock to continue rising.

Delegates from the Lukan Board of Commerce and MTA representatives at the negotiating table

Federal Board of Commerce Headquarters, Urbanik, Lukany - This weekend, an agreement was signed after a year of negotiations. The Federation of Lukany has become the sixth member of the trade zone which restricts import duties and subsidies in an attempt to create a level playing field for international trade. The changeover of tariffs started at midnight (2200 UTC) in the island nation of 39.4 million people. A recent survey shows that more than 50% of Lukans see the treaty as beneficial for the country, whilst 11% are undecided.

MNC reporters asked the Lukan Secretary of Commerce, Yakov Jalinke, for a commentary at the recent Tanzanit Commercial Perspectives Forum:

“In my opinion, this is a very good bargain for both parties. Lukany's oil reserves are an incredible boon to other member states, and we will obtain many high quality imports in exchange. This may well be a historical moment and I am proud to have helped with this endeavor.”

Not everyone is happy, though, as domestic producers expect stiff competition as Tekeri fish cuisine and some of the finest Korvan food brands begin to flood the grocery store shelves. Several strikes and meetings happened at the Jolki food processing factory, as Lukan farmers and workers alike stand to lose their jobs. A spokesman from the Board of Commerce assured them that there shall be a great many employment opportunities as it becomes profitable for Monetan businesses to start and expand their franchises in Lukany.

Severoprudny, Republic of Eaka - Eakan and Maltakayan officials held talks in the Eakan naval city stronghold of Severoprudny regarding the leasing of an Maltakayan Naval Base as well as the refurbishment of an out of order airfield also present in the airbase. The talks resulted in a 15 year lease on the base with Maltakaya recieving 4 retired Kilo class submarines as compenstation as well as technical support for the lease. The deal also included an out of service airfield with two runways, that will be refurbished and expanded to host a variety of Eakan Naval Air Arm craft.

The leasing of the naval base is highly strategic as it allows Eaka to project its power as well as its influence on the continent of Moneta much more easily and readily. The base is strategicly located in range of Vieri, Elektrograd and Aleania allowing for easier deployment of troops incase of conflict with said nations. The base is expected to hold the 9 ships of Destroyer Squadron 6 as well as the cruisers ENS Marshal Raztuv and ENS Joshan. The base's air arm will consist of units from the 5th Naval Assault Aviation Squadron which consists of Su-33SMKs and Su-30Ms as well as the 8th Naval Assault Air Squadron utilizing Su-34s and Su-25s.

The People's Republic of Maltakya has been under fire from the international community for its mistreatment of people and Eaka's relationship with the socialist nation has been questioned by some with many calling for the Eakan government to cut off all ties with Maltakaya. However, it seems that the Eakan government is firm in its decision to support Maltakaya with Eakan president Dmitry Sokolov stating "We will support the Peoples Republic of Maltkaya as long as the sun shines and hope that our friendship blossoms for years to come". Opposition leaders in the Eakan parliamant voiced their dissapproval as did some members of the public with a protest taking place in the capital earlier this morning before being broken up by police forces.

EXPLOSIVE: ALEANIAN MERMAN PROJECT

Sick and twisted Aleanians have created depraved merman soldiers.

Vinitisch, Azurgan Republic - Aleck Rhones here with BREAKING NEWS on Mermangate. Folks this is a shocking, SHOCKING story, in fact, it is so crazy I wouldn't have believed it myself if I weren't JUICED on BrainGrenade, which is on sale folks for this weekend to celebrate you, the MINDWARRIORS. Aleanian scientists, those sicko perverts, you know them, the ones who made the balloonman, have, and I am not kidding here, have created an army of waterbreathing slaves. Now don't believe the mainstream media, and I know you don't, they are just crypto-Khangaians and you know that, because we have PHOTOGRAPHIC evidence of these mermen. This is real folks, this is real.

Our reporters on the ground in the "Democratic" "Republic" of "Aleania" have sources confirming the presence of underwater laboratories where goldfish are being bred with humans. Don't believe me? Take your damn BrainGrenade cause the globalists have a lock on you. You can doubt me, like when the LAMESTREAM media doubted me, when they said Khessar wasn't an artificial satellite. Who was right about that? I think you folks know, I know that you folks know.

Here is the deal folks, our country is being stolen from us. "CETI", the Child Eating Treaty of Idiots, as I like to call it, it is just a front folks. It is just a front MindWarriors. CETI and Rotunda Pact? Two sides of the same coin. And we know, I have THE DOCUMENTS that show Azurgan goldfish are being used. Now you tell me, what are AZURGAN goldfish doing in Aleania? Collusion. Treason. Perversion.

Stay tuned for more on Mermangate and remember, this is Aleck Rhones, Knee Deep in the Trench System of Your Mind.

Babolynia unveils the Sayf 'Untuqam 1 ballistic missile

The Sayf 'Untuqam 1 ballistic missile out in the field, photographed by anonymous photographer

Harmahat, Republic of Babolynia - The much rumored Sayf 'Untuqam 1 ballistic missile has finally been unveiled officially by the government of Babolynia. The ballistic missile design has faced much controversy from the international community. The ballistic missile has been under much scrutiny, after unclaimed remarks by the leadership of Babolynia remarked the missile was developed to ward off, quoted "unwanted interference of the Monetan imperialists", which was spread through several news outlets, which will not be named. The missile has also been rumored to be used to threaten, Babolynia's neighbors such as Vieri as well, which has been denied some Babolynian officials.

Nevertheless, despite the constant outcry, the ballistic missile called "Sayf 'Untuqam 1, which translates to "Sword of Revenge", was unveiled on live television on the State-funded channel BCTS, known as "Babolynia Central Television Services". The missile was seen on being tested and later fired at targeting range, which was located hundreds of miles away. The missile successfully hit the target site and proclaimed as a success. The Sayf 'Untuqam 1 has rumored range of 1,930 kilometer or 1,200 miles. Other than, the much recieved televised testing of the missile test, there has yet to be any more comments or statements from the Babolynian government, and as for neighboring countries. Other specifications will be unveiled later on, says offical government sources.

Zopron, Republic of Vieri - A string of videos appeared that blew apart the internet. They were deleted by the hosting sites, but thousands of copies and mirrors were made. It shows a powerful extremist organization, the Free Vieran Army, that tore apart the country in a civil war and now controls a solid chunk of the western countryside, holding fifteen Lukan soldiers hostage. Those bruised, grim faces are that of the Situational Peacekeeping Platoon, a detachment in service with the AN relief mission for the Tuhkihune minority in southwest Vieri. One of the videos show the execution of the platoon's commander, Lt. Marek Kaluža, where a self proclaimed colonel of the FVA, Vargá Bela, decapitates him with a chainsaw.

This morning, Lukany's ambassador, Vitus Hudić, conversed with Vieran foreign minister Boško Dibra and took the first plane out of the country for a press conference in Urbánik. The deputy minister of foreign affairs, Robert Jakša, has issued the following statement: "We wholly condemn the cowardly and horrible murders of our soldiers, and this will not stand unpunished. These criminals have invoked the wrath of our federation."

Our journalist, Anton Hurevìc, has taken several cross country trips to film footage of the aftermath of FVA and government forces skirmishes, infiltrated the headquarters of the militants, as well as visited several villages destroyed by artillery shelling. He is a professional, yet he says its' the most dangerous and terrifying ordeal he's ever had. Lukan military officials declined to comment on his findings as of yet.

3D render of the ELIT.

Mount Boumfuk, Haute-Pentes, Korva - After 10 years of planning, research and hard work, ELIT astronomical observatory has been opened. Many Elektrogradian officials, including president Ludwig Rademacher, as well as dignitaries from Korva and other countries involved in the project, attended the ceremony held on picturesque Mount Boumfuk.

Over four times larger than the previous largest telescope (ELIT's secondary mirror is roughly as big as Pagal's biggest telescope main mirror), ELIT will help to advance the astrophysical knowledge, by enabling scientist to study supermassive black holes, distant galaxies and dark sector in great detail. Main goal will be search for extrasolar planets, through indirect measurement or direct imagining in case of larger planets. Thanks to advances in adaptive optics and usage of multiple smaller mirrors, rather than cumbersome, large, single one, new telescope is said to provide image 16 times sharper than even the orbital telescopes.

Even though the initial work has been finished, the first light is currently planned for mid to late 2018. Scientist and crew will spend this time fine-tuning and testing the systems. ELIT will be a pioneer of a series of other large infrared telescopes that are currently under development in many parts of the Karaban. Until then ELIT's crew can be proud of their achievement.
