"I'm not that concerned about the electoral college misrepresenting voters despite a rather bizzare win for President Donald J. Of course we would have to refine the electoral college for Fernāo but I believe that a misrepresentation of the people's will would be quite rare under the EC. Shim Seo-yeon - Red-Green Alliance
Image

Account Name: Malgrave
Occupation: Senator

Party Position(s):
Party Administrator

Positions in Government:

Constituency: N/A
Political Ideology: Socialism

Family: they're all in the shadow realm.
Background: Shim Seo-yeons parents were born and raised in the southern half of the Korean peninsula. They were well educated and wealthy enough to be content with their lives. However, the Shim family lived through a tumultuous time in Korean history, and as far as the South Korean government was concerned, the Shims were on the wrong side of history and a danger to South Korean Society. Seo-yeon's father had vocally expressed his socialist beliefs in the past, and that combined with the fact that they had converted to Judaism after meeting an American soldier led to continuing minor harassment that quickly snowballed into genuine threats to their safety. In late 1973, Seo-yeon's parents quietly fled South Korea, arriving in Fernão while a communist revolution was fully underway.

The educated Shim family were a significant boom to the usually poor and ill-spoken communist rebels and Seo-yeon's father, beholden to his belief in the socialist system, openly spoke in favour of the revolutionaries and worked with their rapidly expanding government. In a matter of weeks he joined the communist party and worked his way through the ranks, becoming a significant political force in the country and an important figure in the international community. By the year 1980 when Seo-yeon was born, her father was in the Politburo and had firmly established himself as the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Sadly the "greener pastures" of Fernão would not stay green for much longer through, and in 1982 a US-backed coup overthrew the communist regime.

Shim Seo-yeon lost her father at aged two, it is suspected that he was assassinated by the CIA due to his connections to the international Soviet bloc and senior position in the local communist party. In response her mother took them out of public life as fast as possible, and Shim Seo-yeon lived a very quiet life for a number of hers, her mother worried that militant strongmen in the regime would not hesitate to kill the family of a senior member of the previous communist regime. Seo-yeon did reasonably well in school but did not excel in any one area, although her teachers suspected that she purposely maintained an average grade as to avoid attention from the local authorities. When she was fourteen, the government had built up enough of a critical mass of opposition that a civil war inevitably broke out and quickly tore the country apart.

Seo-yeon concentrated on looking after herself and her mother, for the most part keeping their heads down, but as Seo-yeon grew up, she became less inclined to keep her head down. At the age of 16 she started attending a local college where she met with people sympathetic to the socialist resistance movement and quickly joined the party, and although she started off as a simple messenger she quickly rose through the ranks of the socialist group and by the end of the civil war she was a senior member of the organisation, noted for her fiery speeches and interviews with local and international journalists, and her steadfast support for local workers cruelly impacted by years of harsh free-market policies. By the time the peace deal was finally signed, Shim Seo-yeon had managed to resist directly taking part in any of the violence of the civil war, and had gained some public attention for her minor role in the peace negotiations. When elections were announced, she ran on a Red-Green Alliance ticket and promised that Fernão would never need to see revolution again.

As a note, the following character isn't intended to be a Senator, but rather to be used any purposes in Court cases, in any provisional government (if applicable) and to write op-eds.

Nedungadi Indeevar Nasrani - Independent
Image

Account Name: United Provinces of Atlantica
Occupation: Lawyer, Jurist

Party Position(s):
N/A

Positions in Government:
None

Constituency: N/A
Political Ideology: Nedungadi Indeevar Nasrani doesn't openly state his ideology beyond support for secularism, liberal democracy and republicanism, but an analysis of his writings and court cases suggests a progressive or liberal-leaning stance.

Family: Wife, three sons and two daughters
Background: Nedungadi Indeevar Nasrani was born on the 7th of May, 1959 to a middle-class family in the Fernãoense capital city. His family was not particularly involved in politics, but the young Nedungadi became increasingly passionate about politics in the 1970s as he witnessed his parents being able to be treated as equals to whites and enjoy the right to vote for the first time in their lives. Nedungadi academically excelled in school and eventually became a lawyer in 1983, where he joined a law firm and became a private criminal defense lawyer. Nedungadi also married a fellow St. Thomas Christian in 1986, having five children with her. Although privately opposed to the CIA's dictatorship for virtually his whole life, Nedungadi was not politically active until anti-regime protests broke out in 1993 and 1994, at which point he became increasingly involved in anti-regime activity. In response to a crackdown of the protests as tensions escalated until the civil war broke out in 1994, Nedungadi fled Fernão to Kerala in India, where he became a prominent opposition leader and a leading foreign advocate for Fernãoense democracy. While in India, Nedungadi also became increasingly active as a jurist and legal writer rather than his previous role as a criminal defense lawyer, using this to supplement his income made as a lobbyist for Fernãoense democracy.

By 2005, Nedungadi became increasingly recognized as a member of the Fernãoense opposition and was a participant of the failed 2005 peace talks, remaining an advocate for democracy and prominent supporter of a UN intervention to end the Civil War, a proposal that came to fruition in 2014. Again participating in talks from 2014 to 2016, Nedungadi has now returned to Fernão as a provisional government has gathered to draft a Constitution. Nedungadi Indeevar Nasrani is ready to fight for Fernão as it has finally become a liberal democracy, although he has expressed disinterest at running for office and instead only working at the provisional government and perhaps becoming a judge.

Rodrigo Marcelo Santos - Independent
Image

Account Name: Jovuistan
Occupation: Senator

Party Position(s):
None

Positions in Government:
None

Constituency: TBD
Political Ideology: Pro-Business economy, Globalism, social Liberalism.

Family: Wife named Ariana
Background: Rodrigo M. Santos was born to a small White Collar family on January 25th 1966. He wasn't raised with any political beliefs, as his parents were far more focused on their jobs than politics, which they opted to avoid altogether. He moved through his School days like most wealthy kids, and eventually graduated from College with a Major in Economics. With that, he used his family's connections to successfully get a job working for Goldman Sachs in 1993 as an economic advisor, and started to form a relatively Libertarian view of government.

Things changed drastically when the civil war broke out, and he was forced to keep his head down as things started to become increasingly difficult for him and his family. Despite this, he was able to maintain a (somewhat) steady living, and continued to work in what remained of Goldman Sachs's business in Fernão. Starting in 2000, Santos started to become much more politically active, and began to openly support the rebellion. He himself began to protest against the tyrannical government, and called for Democratic reform in the country. Once the ceasefire came around, Santos backed the attempted peace talks, believing that the fighting had gone on for long enough. He met fellow Goldman Sachs employee Ariana Moreno in 2009, and they eventually became married in 2015.

After the peace talks failed, a U.N. intervention had successfully overthrown the regime in 2014. With the announcement of elections coming, Santos ran for Senate, promising to bring common sense and cooperation to the new government.
