Raghav Shivansh Kshatriya (b.1970) - Forward Fernao !
Image

Account Name: Tumbra
Occupation: Senator

Party Position(s):
Leader
Positions in Government:
Senator
Constituency: -nil-
Political Ideology: Social democracy

Family: Tanya Wolff (wife, b.1969, m.1994), Rahul Kshatriya (son, b.1998)
Background: Born on 18 January 1970 in the city of Babri, Raghav was an intelligent child whose father, a doctor, sent him to the local Anglo-Indian Institution, where he graduated in 1986 with five 'A' levels in English, Mathematics, History, Physics and Economics. With those grades, he entered the University of Melbourne, Australia, where he met his wife Tanya while studying for a course in History. Tanya was the daughter of a rather rich family in Australia, who ran a nationwide chain of department stores. He returned to Fernao with a First in History, his major, and a First in Political Science, his minor. Seeing the rapidly deteriorating tensions between the Hindi and Muslims, Raghav left Fernao with his parents on the outset of the Civil War in 1994.

Upon his return to Australia, he quickly reunited with Tanya - the two married later in the year, with the blessings of both Tanya and his parents - and Raghav joined the Australian Labor Party and became one of then-Prime Minister Paul Keating's staffers, serving as one of his speechwriters as well. Finding himself stateless after the declaration of the Republic of Akhdiria in December, Tanya helped him and his parents to apply for Australian citizenship - which was quickly granted.

Raghav campaigned heavily for the Labor Party in their eventual defeat in 1996, and left politics after that, despite being considered as a potential parliamentary candidate in the next general election. Him and Keating still keep in touch till this day, and are good friends.

Deciding to become a teacher, Raghav entered the industry in 1997 as a History teacher. In 1998, Tanya gave birth to their only son, Rahul. Raghav remained in teaching until 2009, when he accepted an offer from Tanya's father to join his company as a consultant. The amount of free time the role offered led him to take up birdkeeping, with him reportedly having three budgies at once. Nowadays, however, Raghav prefers the company of dogs, and keeps two at his home in Babri.

Following the Indian-led intervention of his homeland in 2017, Raghav left the company with a view of entering Fernese politics, with his entire family coming along, being elected as a Senator for the Red-Green Alliance.

Kshatriya later served as Chief Whip of the Red-Green Alliance, before leaving the position and moving to the backbenches due to Tanya Wolff suffering from a rare disease. He then ran for a constituency seat, but missed out by just 16,500 votes. A long period of absence from the Senate followed, as he and his wife fought the disease together. With Wolff making a recovery following the election of Priscilla Krishnan as President, Kshatriya decided to leave the Red-Green Alliance and establish the centrist and progressive Forward Fernao !

On his second attempt to win a constituency seat in the June 2017 elections, Kshatriya won South West Sarkar by over 600,000 votes, making him the second most popular senator after Jayash Gadhavi.

Any Questions from the Public to be answered?

Will your previous experience in John Wolff's company perhaps lead you to help his company in any way? - No, I am not affliated with John Wolff's company any more, despite all of the help they have given me. I spoke to John before leaving for Fernao and he understands - he believes money should not have a place in politics.

David Bloom - Red-Green Alliance
Image

Account Name: Collatis
Occupation: Politician

Party Position(s):
Member (Fmr. Parliamentary Leader)

Positions in Government:
N/A (Fmr. Senate Majority Leader)

Constituency: N/A
Political Ideology: Social democracy, internationalism, environmentalism

Family: Rachel Kamassi (wife), Michael Bloom (son), Hannah Bloom (daughter)
Background: David Bloom was born to noted left-wing thinker and economist Edward Bloom and his wife Padma in 1969. While David's father had been born in the United Kingdom, David's mother was part of the historically large Jewish community in Fernão. David's family was of moderate wealth, and his childhood was, for the most part, comfortable. Edward Bloom devoted himself to his work, and was the primary academic mind in support of the pro-universal suffrage socialist insurgences throughout the 1960s and 70s. Though not a communist himself, Edward Bloom had many connections with communists both at home and abroad. These links would serve as baggage for both Edward and his son David for the rest of their political lives. After the First Republic was proclaimed in 1974, Edward served in many of the subsequent administrations as an economic adviser. The CIA backed coup brought devastation to the Bloom family. David, along with his mother and siblings, were sent away to England where they would be safe. His father was eventually executed by the regime in 1987, the day before David was to turn 18.

Contrary to most university experiences, David's stay at the London School of Economics actually moderated his politics. After graduating with a degree in Government, David returned to Fernão, committed to bringing an end to the dictatorship that had killed his father. David became a frequent opponent of the regime in the run-up to civil war, and eventually joined in the fighting against the government. After half a decade of fighting, David retired as a result of meeting his future wife, Rachel Kamassi, a Kolkata Jew originally from Elizia. David traveled frequently, working for various political campaigns and governments around the world, such as those of Ehud Barak, John Kerry, Helen Clark, and Gordon Brown. David resisted calls for him to run for Parliament in the UK, knowing that his true home was Fernão.

After the Labour Party's defeat in the 2010 general election, David returned to Fernão permanently, and became involved in the resistance once more. When peace was finally achieved, and democracy reestablished, thanks to intervention by the United Nations, David successfully ran for the Senate as a member of the Red-Green Alliance. Today David lives in Miliband with his wife, two children, and Canaan dog.

Jayesh Gadhavi - Fernão Progress Party Red-Green Alliance
Image

Account Name: Socialist Nordia
Occupation: Senator

Party Position(s):
Senatorial Leader Member

Positions in Government:
Vice-President

Constituency: N/A
Political Ideology: Democratic Socialism, Progressivism, Internationalism

Family: Jayanta (adopted son), Nisha (adopted daughter)
Background: Jayesh Gadhavi was born in 1975 to a lower class Indian family in eastern Fernão. He was still but a baby when, in 1976, his father left home to join a left-wing insurgency group in the name of workers' revolution. Jayesh had to grow up without him until 1981, when he returned to his family at the end of his service. Yet, once the CIA had overturned everything he had worked for in 1982, destroying the first republic, their family went into hiding. It wasn't long before Jayesh's father was found and imprisoned, later to be shoved off a helicopter over the Indian Ocean. This decimated Jayesh's childhood, and he vowed he would not stand by idly should a revolution begin again in Fernão.

For the time being, he received the best education he could for a poor child in a mid-sized town. He excelled in school, and spent much of his time reading from the small, dilapidated local library, which annoyingly contained as much government propaganda as books.

By 1994, the sparks of revolt had appeared, much to Gadhavi's excitement. He spent the next several months working to get the money to make a relatively long trip to a nearby centre of opposition activity.

Still WIP, but I kind of explained the rest in in the Q and A.
Faith: non-religious

Dislikes: fundamentalism, ignorance, greed

Any Questions from the Public to be answered?
  • "Reuters International. Senator, what was your role during Fernão's civil war?"
    Thank you for your question. When the civil war broke out, I was determined to help take down Fernão's foreign-backed dictator. I was still quite young at the time, but in 1995, I went off to join the resistance. I managed to get a job working as an engineer for the resistance forces. There was a shortage of people qualified to take up that sort of position, so I did my best. I was hopeful the 2005 ceasefire would yield the results I had hoped for; democracy and freedom in Fernão. I'm sad to say, it was not what I had hoped. Towards the end of the conflict, I had been elevated to a role within leadership, where I put my efforts towards pressuring the corrupt illegitimate government to enter negotiations to end their tyranny. By 2014, I was one of the negotiators who pushed for a new democratic constitution. My goals were finally realised, and I immediately knew I wanted to help lead this great nation to a brighter future, and sought to become a senator.
  • "Interesting. Mr. Senator, what specific policies do you wish to be put in place in the Fernão Constitution?"
    As far as government structure, I hope the constitution creates a strong legislature, preferably a unicameral legislature elected using some form of proportional representation. I will strongly oppose proposals to establish a first passed the post system. I also want the constitution to clearly outline specific rights that may never be taken away from the people. Freedom of speech and freedom of the press are the most important of these. I also want to ensure a variety of progressive personal freedoms are enshrined in the document, but I recognise that some of these may not be popular, and if defeated, I will still acknowledge the new constitution as legitimate, and seek to implement these policies through normal legislation.
  • "How would this strong legislature, as you describe it, interact with the executive and judicial branches, assuming their existence?"
    I would support a system in which the executive derives their authority from the legislature, and allows for the legislature to elect or remove the executive. Any executive leader should have the approval of the democratically elected legislature. Judges should also have to be confirmed by the legislature in order to take office, and it should be incredibly difficult to impeach a judge after entering office.
  • "Are you not concerned of possible partisan influences in what should be an independent judiciary?"
    That's always something we should be concerned about, which is why there should be a requirement that all judges be non-partisan, and make it so that approving a judge requires a large supermajority, which will ensure a single party isn't able to push through partisan judges.
  • "Hm. Would a Supreme or High Court be in order for Fernão, by any chance?"
    I am absolutely open to the creation of a High Court for Fernão, one composed of nonpartisan judges who must be required to remove themselves from any conflicts of interest.
  • "Remove or recuse?"
    "Once you've answered that, I have one last question: what is your outlook for Fernão, and where you do predict its politics will take it?"
    We need to ensure judges are protected from threats by special interests, and also ensure they have no conflict of interest themselves.

    I am optimistic about Fernão's future. I see the creation of new parties all around, each free to pursue its own ideals, and that pleases me more than anything right now. I hope to see a leftward shift in our politics, but honestly, as long as Fernão never strays away from the principles of liberal democracy, I see a brighter future ahead. Thank you.

Vishal Vig (b. 1990) - Red-Green Alliance
Image

Account Name: The Miaphysite Church of Coptic Archism
Occupation: Senator

Party Position(s):
Party Leader

Positions in Government:
Senator

Constituency: TBD
Political Ideology: Social Democracy, Environmentalism

Family: No wife or children
Background: Vishal Vig was born in 1990 in a poor outer suburb of a large city in central Fernão, during the late period of the counter-revolutionary reign of a strongman government. At only age four, he witnessed the outbreak of a brutal civil war which would balkanize the country and go on for two decades. Unsurprisingly Vishal's childhood was difficult at times, though he was fortunate enough to be able to attend school most days. Vishal did not particularly excell at his schoolwork and it was becoming less safe to attend anyway so at age 13, he left school to help raise money for the family.

The family relocated in 2006 after the attempted ceasefire fell through, to a more secure part of the country. Vishal and his father worked hard, manual labor to support their family. In 2008, Vishal saw and took the opportunity to properly provide for his family so that his father could at least work an easier, lower-paying job. Vishal joined the military of the regional government which was working to restore order. Vishal served in active duty until 2012 when he was wounded in the leg. After a brief hospitalization, Vishal started trying to help his country through peaceful methods.

Vishal helped organize a number of peace protests and led volunteer groups who tried to protect both the people and the environment of the nation from being destroyed by violence. Vishal became a noted public figure in Fernão and while he did not take part in the peace deal that finally brought an end to the civil war, he did comment from the outside and encourage it's continuation. After peace was secured and elections were announced, Vishal decided to run for the Senate in order to continue forwarding his ideals. He established the Red-Green Alliance and several other likeminded Senators soon joined.

Alexios Carlinha Viel - Red-Green Alliance
Image

Account Name: Tectonix
Occupation: Secretary of Health and Labour

Party Position(s):
Party Administrator of the Red-Green Alliance
Fmr. Party Administrator, Chief Whip

Positions in Government:
Secretary of Health and Labour

Constituency: Riviera
Political Ideology: Social Democracy, Multilateralism, Progressivism

Family: Wife - Aarushi Patel Viel (b. 1972, m. 1998)
Background: Alexios Carlinha Viel was born on February 12th, 1968, to a lower-middle class family in the outskirts of a small city in Eastern Fernão. He grew up under the communist socialist republic, and became a political activist in his hometown and around the country. At age 14, he witnessed an oppressive dictator come to power in the nation, but chose to not get involved, instead focusing on his academics and writing a number of memoirs and books, displaying his utter distaste for the government. He excelled in mathematics and science in high school, but never really took an interest in it. His antiestablishmentarian beliefs further propelled him when the civil war broke out in 1994, and he took up arms against the fascists.

In 2008, Viel retired from the paramilitary force he'd been enlisted in, returning home to his wife and working as a fisherman for six years. During that time, he graduated from Amadora University with a Master's in International Law and Politics, as well as a Bachelor's in Criminal Law. He was elected as Senator following the Indian-led UN intervention by a landslide. Using his impressive knowledge in political science and personal experiences in battle, Alexios has fought for progressive ideals to be in Fernão's Constitution, and will stop at nothing to make sure strongmen never reign again in the nation.

  • How do you believe your time fighting in the civil war will contribute to your political career? - I watched my friends get shot. My commanders blown up by artillery. A young boy, barely fifteen, get drowned by an enemy soldier. The realities of war are things that few people can ever hope to comprehend. I may not be some fancy war hero, but my time fighting for my beliefs and my country are what make me who I am, and having the ability to not just talk for your ideas, but fight for them is what I believe I have to contribute to our nation.

Socialist Nordia wrote:Thank you for your question.

"Interesting.

Account Name: Merizoc
Occupation: Senator

Party Position(s):
Member

Positions in Government:
N/A

Constituency: N/A
Political Ideology: Anarcho-communism

Family: Wife, two children, three grandchildren
Background: Born on a commune in Southern India, Rob Kattur (formerly known as Raj Krishnan) grew up as part of a revolutionary group working to overthrow the newly-formed Indian state and establish a communist utopia. Forced to flee the country at the age of 13 after shooting a police officer who tried to arrest him for buying ganja, Rob changed his name and began working in a chemical factory in Fernao. A freak chemical accident turned his skin pale, which, he realized, meant he would likely never be discovered by the Indian authorities. He began getting involved in union work, and was considered a rising star in the labor movement, until he was jailed for kidnapping the owner of the chemical factory and locking him inside a storage closet for three days. Not one to be discouraged, Rob left prison still hoping to change the world for the better. He forged a Fernese birth certificate and got himself involved in local politics, which was abruptly brought to a halt after two years, when his party, the Communist People's Front (not to be confused with the People's Front for Communism) was outlawed. He spent several years traveling the world, including a three-year stint in the Australian outback, living off roots and kangaroo piss. Upon his return to Fernao, Rob decided it was time to get involved in politics again, and joined LO, hoping all the while to someday overthrow the government.

That's always something we should be concerned about, which is why there should be a requirement that all judges be non-partisan, and make it so that approving a judge requires a large supermajority, which will ensure a single party isn't able to push through partisan judges.

I am absolutely open to the creation of a High Court for Fernão, one composed of nonpartisan judges who must be required to remove themselves from any conflicts of interest.

Thank you.

"Breitbart News, to all Red-Greens and Progressives. Are you secretly an Islamist agent of Al-Qaeda or ISIS?

Also to all Red-Greens and Progressives, are you involved in any way in any child sex rings, murder-for-hire agencies, or other agencies orchestrated through private email servers meant to secure funds for Islamist terrorists and establish open borders?

To all members of Pro Patria, are you crusading to bring a new golden dawn for humanity, as supported by President Trump and Chief Strategist Bannon? Are you willing to bring this golden dawn despite immense threats from mainstream media and other Islamist organizations?"

An article is posted on Breitbart claiming that Vishal Vig remains in denial about his party's clear plans, and that David Bloom unintentionally slips out the truth.
