I can edit the pop to 190 million but I'll have to insist on the area, the northern coast is pretty vital to my planned lore and most of the rest is quite important too.

Brief description of history: The first settlements in the area date back to 5th Century B.C. When the valleys of the Burnaja and Svetlaya rivers were inhabited by Skyth tribes and nomads, who later formed the Takmyr and Karzeg nations. The center of modern Chernagor had been founded in the delta of the Burnaya River and on the coast, divided from the Zagorie region which was under the supremacy of a Kalingrad Principate by the Black Mountains ridge. The local Slavic population constantly had to fight off the raiders from the southwest so it was traditionally bound with Russia, but always kept its independence. In the 12th Century it was controlled by dukes, in the 13th century it was united by Taras Kozub. The Kozub dynasty ruled until 1631, when Chernagor joined the Russian empire. After the revolution in 1917 Chernagor declared independence and became the Democratic Republic of Chernagor, proclaimed on May 26, 1918. Facing permanent internal and external problems, the republic was unable to withstand invasion by the Red Army, and collapsed in March 1921, becoming a Soviet Republic officially on 4 April 1922, after a year of mass resistance by Chernagorians.

On 21 July 1990, the Parliament of Chernagor adapted the Declaration of State Sovereignty of Chernagor, establishing the principles of the self-determination, democracy, independence, and the priority of Chernagorian law over Soviet law. The Chernagorian Parliament adopted the 1991 Act of Independence after a coup in Moscow launched by a faction within the Communist Party failed, a referendum was held shortly after the act was put into motion, with 93% of the Chernagorian public supporting it. After gaining its independence, Chernagor was established as a Republic and it's Army the Chernagorian Defence Forces took possession of former Soviet military installations and stockpiles. Chernagor had favourable economic conditions in comparison to other former Soviet Republics due to its heavy industry in the east, natural resources, as well as thriving tourism industry which had significantly boosted the Chernagorian economy and helped contribute to the sharp rise in the country's GDP, thus, increasing living standards, with the country enjoying steady real economic growth of around 7% annually. Chernagor also became well known for its production of high-technological goods and transport products.

In 2009, it suffered from a Civil War that left the country in turmoil, forcing it to seek help from SACTO, primarily from Nihon as factions from the 2007 insurgency sprung up once more. The civil war was caused by the mass amounts of communist supported rebels that were popping up in South Ozdekia. The communist revolutionary movement was known as the Chernagorian Movement of the Red Star, or Chedaki for short, they committed several war crimes and attempted to cover them up. After the movement spread across almost all of South Ozdekia and some parts of Chernagor, they took the island of Utes and kicked out the CDF forces there only later to be liberated by the Imperial Nihonese Army. The Feederation of Sarov was involved later after the ChDKZ staged a bombing in Red Square in Kalingrad, Sarov killing dozens. The Sarovian government was tricked into thinking it was the Chernagorian Nationalist Party or NAPA that did the bombing, leading to the presence and significant build up of Sarovian troops in the very north of South Ozdekia and gave excessive amounts of weapons to the ChDKZ, this led to the Civil war of 2009 and the whole region of South Ozdekia broke into turmoil and death. The Imperial Nhonese Army were eventually sent into the southern parts of South Ozdekia to support the Chernagorian Defence Forces new military campaign against the Chedaki, which eventually gained the support of Sarov, enabling the three powers to destroy the majority of the ChDKZ once it was exposed that they were behind the bombing.

During, and briefly after the civil war, the country faced economic decline, political turmoil and heavy civil unrest. President name was ousted with support from the Chernagorian Defence Forces and militants of the Chernagorian National Party, and the two factions formed a brief alliance to govern the country until democratic elections could be held. In 2010, President name was elected in a landslide vote, ending the rule of the transitional government. The economy bounced back rapidly after several new economic policies were introduced, as well as support from Sarov and other countries, allowing greater freedom of Chernagorian businesses and other economic assets, and the Chernagorian tourism industry became strong again after massive government funding to undo losses caused by the civil war and general stability returned to the country after a small """UN""" peacekeeping force was deployed for 4 years.

The Velykan Sarovian Republic was the most economically prosperious of the Sarovian Republics excluding Sarov itself, its mixed industry turned the economy into a powerhouse and during major times of militarization the heavy industries helped the Sarovian Union continue its wardrive, boosting the economic output and bringing more people into the factories. After the collapse of the Union, Velkya has remained Socialist and is one of Sarov's closest allies, however in recent times, with nationalism on the rise and several government changes, and a new """oil war""", relations have began to get strained... only time will tell if the historic alliance can survive.
