TO: Membership of the IFC Council
Membership of this fine council. Currently, we have the following FOUR resolutions that are up for a vote, please check your votes for each of these resolutions to ensure that they are properly maintained. I will also note that one of these (Resolution 30) has been outstanding to be completed. As it currently stands, if we go by what our former Prime Miniter, the Austorians, have stated that something of this caliber needs a 2/3's majority vote, we are falling short of that. If Resolution 33 Passes, then Resolution 30 will be passed as it meets the numbers within that thread.
I shall, therefore, leave it up to the Membership of this Council on what they wish to do with Resolution 30. Let us remember, that we are the IFC, we are a voice for Freedom throughout the world, and we are a large, eccentric, and diverse group. Godspeed to all of us.

For the Grand Allied Commander, due to the passage of Resolution Thirty-Five, your position will now spearhead any military operations that are initiated via the Joint Military Readiness Initiative and therefore are being asked by the Administration to continue to serve as Grand Allied Commander. Do you accept this responsibility?"

General Beliur stood up, and answered with confidence in perfect English: "I will happily accept the responsibilities placed before me, sir." Beliur sat back down, and gathered his things. Myra helped him with his briefcase, and several minutes later, General Regara Beliur got up and left the chamber. He was off to Roski.

"Do we have any new business?" asked the Prime Minister of those in attendance.

Seeing the floor was clear, and the Council was largely silent; the Inyurstan delegation found it the opportune moment to address an area they felt the IFC was lacking in, to oppose an issue inherently contrary and eternally in opposition to the values of liberty and freedom. Granted if the républicano ideological radicals that dominated Inyurstan politics and society had their way every last empire of old would be Balkanized until all are free; every monarch put before the guillotine until all are equal, every last dynasty extinguished beneath the fires of democracy - but this was neither the time nor place and the Inyurstans had neither the influence nor resources to spearhead such a crusade... Not yet at least...

"The Inyurstan delegation would like to bring to the floor an issue very important to us..." Ambassador De Vertrún said confidently and unquestionably firm in her beliefs as she stood up.
"While the IFC no doubt does a wonderful job of condemning and opposing most forms of anti-liberal values and crimes against humanity; the legislation of the organization itself seems rather quiet on the subject of Colonialism. Alas the body count of colonialism and the centuries of oppression brought beneath its tentacles easily outdoes anything radical fascism has produced, and gives the sins of communism and radical socialism a truly worthy competitor. Today, God willing, we have a chance to change that.

I hereby introduce Resolution 36 to the floor:"

La Républiqua D'Inyursta Melissa Clara de Vertrún-Sanchez Condemnation of Colonialism Act [Resolution Number: 36] Recognizing, that colonialism and imperialism are both inherently oppressive and parastic in nature, Affirming, that all nations and people's have a right to sovereignty, independence and self-determination, Restraining, from dictating to current member nations their internal policy; Hereby formally condemns the military or political annexation of a foreign territory without the express democratic consent of its rightful population as a crime against humanity. Furthermore, seeks to establish a precedent for future decisions including but not limited to the authorization of sanctions, membership inclusion, etc. Signed, [Melissa de Vertrún, La Républiqua D'Inyursta]

After looking over the quite simple legislation placed before the chamber, Ambassador Gam saw it necessary to provide some commentary. "First of how would such a resolution be enforced and implemented. Essentially is all we are doing, adopting an official stance. Second how does this affect a member if they already have colonial possessions and third I believe that the resolution needs to have an article stating what the IFC defines as colonialism." Sol-Mi stated

"Yes, your first assumption would be correct. This is essentially what it says, a condemnation and ultimately the International Freedom Coalition - emphasis on FREEDOM - officially adopting a stance.
Secondly, this legislation would not affect current members with colonial possessions- unless of course they suddenly go out stealing land and sovereignty then it would be upon the Council to decide how to deal with the action, no different than if a member suddenly began committing genocide.
Thirdly Resolution 36 defines colonialism as quote "...the military or political annexation of a foreign territory without the express democratic consent of its rightful population as a crime against humanity." however if furher clarification is needed an amended version of Res 36 can be put forward to include a more detailed definition..."

The Remnant delegate looked at Resolution 36, nodded slowly as he read it over again. Smiling, Deputy Ambassador Canis spoke clearly "Yeah. Nyet. The United Remnants of America will vote Nay to Resolution 36."

In the back of his mind, Sacha wondered what would've happened had this resolution been in place when the URA had annexed half of the neighboring nations of Zhangua and Nongea, effectively bringing them into the Greater Remnant Cooperation Sphere, which was the official euphemism for the URA's amalgamation of colonies, puppet governments, and vassal states. Canis assumed that the Coalition would not have smiled happily upon the act, even if it was necessary for the economic growth and the survival of his home country.

[New Roma Republic]

Florus Nakashima read the Resolution. It made an uneasy feeling in his stomach. Recently, the Republic became an Imperial Republic, and had expanded their territories. Should this be passed, the Imperial Republic would have to rethink how they expanded the Republican Empire. Nakashima knew what his government's stance on this would be. There was no other way. "While this resolution has well intentions, we are afraid that would negatively affect many IFC members, including my own nation. For that, the Imperial Republic of New Rome votes NAY on Resolution 36."

Gam Sol-Mi after hearing the answers provided by the Inyurstans and the current outlook of the vote she groaned in frustration. She was hoping that somebody would make this vote competitive but with silence going on and a 3-0 margin Sol-Mi was going to have to put Kirishima in the forefront for the first time in a long time.

"There...is a key thing stated in resolution 36...consent. The democratic consent of a people to be a part of something greater or to remain sovereign. Now for us to sit here in the International Freedom Coalition and at this point, we do not have a single aye vote. Granted in my personal opinion I always seen the Inyurstans as radicals in their interpretation of the word freedom but how can we ever have any authority to promote freedom when we do not care if someone represses their freedom to rule.

Now at least two of the nations that have voted nay seem to fear what this means for them and their empires. I would like to point out that resolution 36 prevents dictating internal policy to current members. Furthermore when asked to clarify it has been reaffirmed that this legislation would not affect current members with colonial possessions. So now why would you be against this? Perhaps you fear that this resolution will affect you. Only way this could affect you is if you continued to annex populations without their desire. Not occupy but annex.

If that is the case, that a freedom coalition can't take an official stance on unwanted ownership that does not affect current member possesions...what are we doing here. What purpose do we serve having the title of Freedom? Let's just rename the organization and have it be purely a defense alliance. Because if we are an organization that strives for a society that is based on the principles of freedom, liberty, and democratic governance. How if a stance that once again does not dictate domestic policy, affect current possessions, and should the people not be opposed to permanently forsaking their sovereignty, does not affect future colonial acquisitions.

Imperial Republic of New Rome Florus Nakashima Removal of Membership of the Union State of Chkalovsk [Resolution Number: 37] Reaffirming that the point of this alliance, the International Freedom Coalition (IFC), is to promote freedom in nations, Recognizing that freedom cannot be achieved if one side of the political spectrum is suppressed, Declaring that all people have a right to participate in the political process, no matter their views, Noticing the chaos in the Union State of Chkalovsk, Condemning the bombing of the United Leftist Alliance headquarters and the Chairman of the United Leftist Alliance's personal residence, Pointing out the colonialist tendencies of the new government of the Union State of Chkalovsk with the appropriation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the invasion of Belarus; Let it be resolved that the membership of the Union State of Chkalovsk be put on probation on account of the political ban of all parties that fall on the left side of the political spectrum. Should the ban on the political parties on the left stay in place, the Union State of Chkalovsk shall be thrown out of the IFC. Furthermore, the IFC shall put sanctions on the Union State of Chkalovsk should its government continue in its course of disenfranchising those who have political beliefs contrary to the government. "The Roskian Federation feels that Resolution 37 does not go far enough. Groups who oppress political groups need to learn that stern opposition will always arrive, regardless of what that government's political placement is. It is imperative that the IFC should use force in order not only to demonstrate our resolve, but also to prevent crises like this in the future. Our mission needs to be to send autocratic and oppressive nations back to the realm of fear, or else this organization is a failure."
