Territorial Core : The domains of Atlantis (in yellow)
Territorial Claim : West of the Mississippi River, North of Virginia
Capital City : Richmond, Virginia
Population : 4,076,120

Government Type : Constitutional Monarchy
Government Ideology/Policies : Diplomatic
Government Focus : Industrialization
Head of State : King Thomas
Head of Government : Chancellor Alexander Stephens (Whig)
Government Description : The Royal Senate serves as the legislative branch of Atlantis, electing one of its members as the Chancellor, who holds considerable amount of power. Although the King has executive power, the role of the crown is largely ceremonial and more to represent the nation. There are three main parties in Atlantis: the Whig Party (economic modernization, classical liberalism, pro-trade), the People's Party (populism, farmer's interest, social conservatism), and the Labor Party (worker's rights).

Majority/State Religion : The majority religion is Christianity with Catholicism being the largest of the Christian branches.
Religious Description : The colonies of Atlantis were made up of Christians seeking religious freedom in terms of religion, During Atlantis's fight for independence, it was decided by the Founding Fathers (such as George Washington and Thomas Jefferson) to forbid Atlantis from deciding a state religion.

Economic Ideologies : Jeffersonian agrarianism, industrial capitalism (on the rise)
Major Production : Cotton and tobacco
Economic Description : While agrarian at the beginning due to fertile land, the reforms put in place by King George II (supported by the Whigs) in 1848 set up some areas of the Appalachia in Atlantis as industrial zones with the use of coal and logging. However, agrianism is still dominant in Atlantis (although, slavery is nonexistent) with the majority of the country still being farms and plantations (filled with paid workers of all races, not slaves). In terms of trade, Atlantis has been known internationally for its quality cotton and tobacco and frequently trades with other nations.

Army Weakness : Military production is hard to keep up in a nation lagging behind in industrialization. The Atlantean levy force still uses muzzle-loading rifles and are more prone to run away from battle.
Naval Strength : The Atlantean Navy, while small, employs well trained sailors dedicated to defending Atlantis from an invasion in both the Gulf Coast and the Atlantic Ocean.
Naval Weakness : Despite using the name of a mythological seafaring empire, the Navy is small and the majority of the Atlantean Royal Navy's ships are converted merchant boats.

- Alexander Stephens, Whig Senator from Georgia and Chancellor of the Royal Senate.
- Abraham Lincoln, former officer and current Senator of Kentucky, known for his support for militarization
- Andrew Johnson, People's Party Senator from Tennessee
- Jonathon Steele, socialist and the only Labor Senator in the Royal Senate.
- Patricia Parkerson Washington, Queen-Regent of Atlantis
National Ambition/Aspirations : N/A
History :
Colonization of Atlantis & Revolution (1607 - 1785)
The first successful Cambrian colony in America was established in 1607 in Jamestown in what is modern day Virginia by the Virginia Company. In 1624, Virginia was transferred from a royal charter to a crown colony and extended to Kentucky and West Virginia. In 1629, the Province of Carolina was established while the Province of Georgia was established south of Carolina in 1729. Despite some attacks from American raiders, the colonies were prosperous agricultural zones. Due to population growth, the original three colonies ceded land to create more colonies of Kentucky, Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee. Throughout the century, a divide happened between the colonies and the Cambrian and in 1776, the colonies of declared its independence as the Atlantean Confederation, named after a powerful empire in Greek mythology. After years of fighting, the Cambrian Empire recognized Atlantean Confederation as an independent entity.

Shortcomings of the Confederation and a National Change (1785 - 1789)
Despite achieving independence, Atlantis was in a poor shape. The fighting had put the Atlantean Congress in debt and soldiers without pay. Some provinces begin to compete with one another and rebellions were across the country. Soon, there were talks amongst unhapy civilians and veterans of overthrowing the weak Confederation. The two men nominated for such coup were George Washington of Virginia and Nathaneal Greene of Georgia. Both men declined such offer, placing faith in the Confederation until one of the Confederation's ardent supporter, James Madison, wrote the Atlantean Papers, arguing for a stronger government that fits the mold of the people. After putting down a rebellion of farmers and veterans lead by a former National Army officer, Washington started to feel disillusioned with the Confederation and realized the need for a stronger national government. After much consideration and pressure (and with Greene dying in 1786), George Washington lead the remnants of the Atlantean National Army into Richmond and occupied the Congressional building. Despite that Washington intended to step down from power and to simply force the Confederate Congress to reform the Confederation, his move was well-received from the public. Due to Washington's success as a leader and having Congress to establish a new document in replace of the Articles of Confederation, the public and some members of Congress wanted him to be King. Despite George's personal objection, he allowed a change in the country only if the vast majority of the Atlanteans wanted him to. With a high majority, General George Washington was crowned as the first King of Atlantis with the establishment of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Atlantis.

The Reign of King George (1789-1799)
King George changed the Confederate Congress into the Senate, a legislative body made up of 3 delegates from each provinces and have them to be open for election every 2 years and being lead by the Chancellor of the Senate. From the Senate, he established the position of the Councilors who serve as ministrial positions, establishing a functional executive government. After this reform, he largely left much of government functions alone to the Senate, believing that his work is done. He died in 1799 due to health issues and was succeeded by his son and the crown prince Joseph Washington the second King of Atlantis.

The Reign of King Joseph (1799-1825)
The reign of King Joseph was marked by relative prosperity and expansion of Atlantis. The policy of the dominant Democratic Party lead by Chancellor Thomas Jefferson and later James Madison were pro-agrarian and open to trade with other countries. Joseph's successful conquest into (what are today) Florida and Arkansas in 1815 lead to the two regions joining Atlantis with the natives there becoming citizens, showcasing Atlantis as a regional power in America. In 1823, Atlantis entered full diplomatic relations with the Azteks. King Joseph also encouraged literature and promoted the creation of public libriaries across the province to improve on literacy. His successful reign was described as an Era of Good Feelings. Joseph died in 1823 also due to health issues and was succeeded by his son George II.

The Reign of King George II (1825-1864)
George II's reign was marked with political instability. The collapse of the Democratic Party lead rise to two political factions stemming from the old party, the pro-industrialist Whigs lead by Kentucky Senator Henry Clay and the pro-agrarian Populists lead by Tennessee Senator Andrew Jackson. Due to the parties being competitive, the position of the Chancellor largely changed hands between parties in almost every elections. In 1848, the Whigs remained in power in the Senate and pursued industrialization, using coal from Virginia and Kentucky for industrialization with support from George II. The Whigs also pursued mechanization of agriculture which was less successful than their industrial project due to heavy opposition and was removed from power by the People's Party. George II's firstborn son George III died in a hunting accident and George II declared his second born son, Thomas to be the crown prince. George II died unexpectedly and the crown was passed down to Thomas.

The Reign of King Thomas (1864~)

Due to Thomas ascending to the throne at a relative young age of 13, his mother, Patricia Parkerson Washington, served as the Queen-regent until in 1869, when Thomas was of appropriate age to rule. Under the Queen-regent, the People's Party stayed in power promoting agrarian policies until in the 1868 election when the Whigs regained control of the Senate. When Thomas was of appropriate age to rule, he called for the Senate to improve his plan for infrastructure and military equipments, supporting the construction of railroads for quicker travel without the need for horses and improving on the current armory of the Atlantean Royal Army. The Senate approved of the measure and set up construction for railroads. The militarization was successful in some levels, purchasing newer breech-loading rifles and more modern cannons from Europe. However, the real success of the militarization came from the development of the Gatling Gun, created by North Carolinan inventor Richard Jordan Gatling, who invented such gun to lower the number of soldiers in the battlefield.

Auchterland wrote:Full Nation Name: The Republic of Westmere
Majority/Official Culture: Anglo-Westmerian
Territorial Core: Westmerian clay
Territorial Claim: None as part of the government's official policy.
Capital City: Redemption (Indianapolis)
Population: 9,050,275

Government Type: Parliamentary republic
Government Ideology/Policies: Adoptionist moralism, fundamental rights and duties, equality of work opportunities, democracy.
Government Focus: Most of the government's attention at the moment is focused on stimulating economic growth while still staying within the limits of the social principles stated in the Constitution.
Head of State: President Aldous Stanweall
Head of Government: Prime-Minister Willard Healdanberg
Government Description: The Republic of Westmere adopts a pentapartite form of government, with a judicial branch, a bicameral legislative branch, a headship of State, a headship of government, and an autonomous public administration.

Majority/State Religion: Adoptionist Church of Westmere
Religious Description: With roots in 16th century England, the Adoptionist Society of Britain diverged from the rest of christianity based on the belief that Jesus was not born the son of God, but rather, was adopted as such after his baptism and rejection of Satan even during his suffering in the desert, as a demonstration of his undying devotion to God. And only after his return and deeds for the people of Judea, he was confirmed before them as the Messiah during his Transfiguration.
As such, the adoptionist clergy emphasizes devotion and work as the path for divine enlightenment, in the likeness of Christ, and advocates adult baptism.
In 1632, with the establishment of the colony of Westmere, it was declared as the State religion, and with its independence in the American Revolution, an autonomous Westmerian Church was established.

Economic Ideologies: Social capitalism
Major Production: Westmere holds one of the largest reserves of coal in the world, and possesses a large iron and steel industry. Lumber, cereals, fruits, animal products, chemicals, liquor and publishing rank as some of its other strong indutries.
Economic Description: Characterized by small-scale ownership of land and family-based farming. Heavy industry is present in the urban centers, many of them along the Great Lakes' shores. Railways connect many of the nation's vital points, and some canals also hold importance, such as the Langdale Canal, connecting Lake Erie to the west branch of the Susquehanna river, and thus, the Great Lakes to the Chesapeake Bay.

Army Strength: Numbering at 90,500, the numerous railways and roads provide the westmerian army with the ability to be deployed fastly within its homeland's territory. The troops, constantly fed with nationalistic propaganda, are more than willing to fight in the name of the nation's highest values. The strength of Westmere's industry is also present on the arms branch, supplying the military with good quality equipment.
Army Weakness: As Westmere's external policy has remained pacifist for the last few decades, offensive training has not been on the military's focus for some time, and thus, it is weak at coordinating actions in foreign territory. The troops are unused with combat in environments too different to its homeland's.
Naval Strength: The Republic counts with knowledge of good shipbuilding techniques and materials, rendering its navy with fast, maneuverable and sturdy ships, along with good artillery.
Naval Weakness: Westmere borders two major bodies of water: the Great Lakes and the Chesapeake Bay. Its shoreline by the latter is rather small, and has few ports. As a consequence of the first statement, the attention of the navy is divided: moving ships from one body of water to another is only done through the Langdale Canal, which takes some time to do, or alternatively through St. Lawrence river, which would take even more time and involve passing through Canada's territorial waters.
Further Military Description: Unnecessary.

National Goals: Developing a strong position in the international market, conducting a foreign policy that stays true to the nation's founding values.
National Issues : Conciliation of the industrial production system with the founding values of the nation, extending control and services to all regions of Westmere.
National Figures of Interest: Blake Howley: founder of the colony of Westmere.
Sigmund Fyrstow: leader during the American Revolution.
Edward Langdale: explorer responsible for much of the expansion to the Great Lakes region.
Adalbert Osraed: current head of the Adoptionist Church of Westmere.
National Ambition/Aspirations: Becoming a bastion of morality and industriousness for the world to see and follow.

History: The history of Westmere as we know it today begins with the foundation of the Adoptionist Society of Britain in the 16th century. Although soon Cambria declared freedom of religion in its territory, members from other christian sects or the revived druidist religion still had their quarrels with the adoptionists, sometimes escalating into some nasty incidents. This led Blake Howley, a former military officer, businessman and also an adoptionist, to pursue a dream of a land where his fellow churchmen would not only meet safety, but also would be directed according to their principles.
In 1632, he received a royal grant to establish a colony in the territory between the Susquehanna and Potomac rivers, and in the same year, landed on the Chesapeake Bay along with dozens of his brothers and sisters in faith and founded their first settlement. Howley enacted the first few laws based on the adoptionist doctrine: as it was believed that only work done out of one's own will could be redeeming, and that everyone should have an equal chance of doing so, slavery was outlawed from the start, and plots of land were to be distributed in a way that ownership would not become concentrated in the hands of only a few.
As the first colonists made peace with the local natives and found their new home to be fairly hospitable, new waves of them arrived, turning Westmere into a sprawling refuge for adoptionists. As the years passed and new settlements were established, expanding further inland, Howley enacted a law granting protection to the practice of all religions within Westmere's territory, prompting more colonists to come as an increase to the local workforce. Additionally, as slavery was outlawed within the colony and there were more opportunities for former slaves, it became a popular destination for fugitives and freedmen.
In the middle of the 18th century, however, it underwent a period of pressure when the colonists were pushed into war in the name of cambrian disputes with other colonial powers and their native american allies. After the conclusion of the armed conflict, the damage and exhaustion weighed on the colonists, but still, as the cambrian crown sought to compensate for the costs of war, it raised taxes on the colonies. After a long period of protests, Westmere could not accept the situation anymore, and along with other american colonies, rose up in revolt. Following another bloody conflict, the colonies had conquered their independence.
Here, however, as regional differences and interests spoke too high, the ex-colonies failed to federalize following their victory, with only a fragile military alliance remaining. Decades later, it meant nothing, as each State pursued their international policies autonomously. Westmere itself had minor quarrels with other States in the past as the westwards expansion began and borders had to be redefined in a series of treaties before the situation further degraded into another exhausting conflict, as Westmere already took part in the natives' wars, allying some and fighting against their rivals as part of its plan to expand into the Great Lakes.
The conquest of the Great Lakes region proved to be extremely advantageous to Westmere, as it contained valuable coal and iron deposits that were fundamental in the Republic's industrialization. With this, the last few decades are said to have heralded a new age of glory to Westmere, as it sees its industry gives it the strength to increase its influence in an international level. And those who wish to become leading actors in this great spectacle are many.

Economic Ideologies : Mercantilism
Major Production : Natural resources specifically large amounts of minerals and ores.
Economic Description : The economy has been based off of trading with foreign nations across the Indian ocean for centuries. While in recent years this has definitely diminished the Zagwe Sultanate is still known for it's trading power, even that which it once had. While in the past the economy relied almost entirely on trade passing through it's ports to other lands it now resides on the sale of resources from the inland region of the country. This has caused some to be unhappy as the exported goods vastly out way the imported and many feel Zagwe traders are given poorer deals than other nations. Trade and sailing however remain an integral part of the Zagwe identity.

Army Weakness : The Zagwe army is woefully outdated.
Naval Strength : Zagwe has some of the most talented and well trained sailors.
Naval Weakness : Zagwe ships are extremely outdated.
Further Military Description : The Zagwe Navy has greatly skilled and trained sailors. They have been loaned to allied navies throughout history. Zagwean sailors maintain this pride, and while now they largely just patrol their waters and trade lanes they remain some of the best in the world. The Zagwean army is in much the same situation, with soldiers trained extremely well for fighting in a diverse set of landscapes primarily deserts and arid grasslands. However while their training is very good arguably their greatest feature is their devotion to the Sultan. Many feel Sultan Arkaan will bring their nation back to it's former glory and them along with it. Their dedication is nigh limitless. Like the navy their equipment is severely outdated which causes many problems, however they have less developed nations on their immediate borders which makes this less of a problem. However the threat of a modern nation coming to blows with Zagwe has become the center of worry and the Sultanate looks to advance it's forces technology.

National Goals : Expand Further in Africa and become a great trade power again.
National Issues : The Sultanate needs to attempt to modernize and build up it's trade ties.
National Figures of Interest : Ramis al-Alyabila, Taamir al-Mogadishu, Nizaam al-Medina
National Ambition/Aspirations : Become a world Player, have strong influence across the Indian ocean and Africa

History :
Axum continues as a major African state as far as 825, it then begins a slow decline that eventually fractures it into dozens of smaller states.

In 830 the coastal regions of the Sultanate were were invaded and largely made into a series of minor port colonies by several Muslim groups from the Arabian peninsula. In 854 they break from their Arabian masters and become a part of a renewed Kingdom of Aksum. Under Nizaam al-Medina in 868 Shia Islam begins it's spread into the region. Dominating the coastal areas it remains largely at peace with the Christian and Jewish native populace who largely welcome them with peace. Previous Muslim minorities further inland are quickly amalgamated by this offshoot.

By 900 the Influence of this 'adaptive' Muslim movement becomes the Majority of the African coastal areas, including Zagwe, a small Kingdom with the capital of Lalibela formerly strictly Christian. While the capital of Lalibela remained slightly Christian the kingdom had become Muslim in every thing but official decree. This would change at the invasion by the army of Taamir al-Mogadishu. Having wed the daughter of the king of Zagwe Taamir had a claim to the throne that began to slip when his new wife's uncle ascended to the throne before him. The Somalian forces under his rule attacked Lalibela however they found the nearby states supportive of the small kingdom and so Taamir was slain and his wife returned home to Lalibela. Her son however would ascend to the throne of Zagwe at twenty. Ramis al-Alyabila would be the first Muslim ruler of Zagwe.

Ramis like his father would be a warrior. He enforced his claim over the Somalians to the south and succeeded in replacing his cousin as the ruler. Ramis al-Alyabila would declare the Sultanate of Zagwe in 970. This would begin the expansion of Zagwe over the next several centuries.

By 1000 Zagwe reached from Lalibela in the north and west and then east to the Indian ocean. Mogadishu and Berbera as well as several other cities along the coast became rich. Resources and slaves from the interior made their way along the secure roads of the Sultanate before beginning the long sailing journey as far as Malayasia and even Japan. Zagwe was by far the dominant African state in the area. Several Client states along the fringes of the Sultanate existed almost purely at Zagwe's whim. Forming a protective buffer and paying tribute these states became a trouble by 1243.

In 1243 Zagwe had declined slightly. It's lack of steady expansion and show of force had made it's neighbors and vassals bold. Several refused to pay tribute and many others outright launched raids of the Sultanate's lands. This would in the long run actually revive Zagwe. Fearing their nation was about to be overrun the Sultanate would begin sacking it's rebellious vassals. Some chose to pay their tribute to attempt to avoid the wrath, few succeeded. By 1500 Zagwe had taken the territories spanning the land from the Southern Nile near Juba, as far as the Horn of Africa and from Asmara in the north to the southern tip of Somalia.

The 1500's and 1600's would see the transition again to a more trading focused styled state. Now able to trade with the likes of Korea, Japan, and China with more ease Zagwean ships sailed as far as western Europe. Trade boomed and again Zagwe grew rich. Exotic goods were brought from every corner of the known world and soon Zagwe was known by foreign traders as a friendly place for goods and work. Over this time slowly yet surely Zagwe continued it's expansion north into Sudan.

By 1785 Zagwe had territory from the edges of Egypt to the Jungles of Tanzania. However Zagwe entered a steady decline, rebellions and civil wars fought continuously from this time to 1850 would eventually caused the losses of several regions on the peripheral. Trade began to decrease, as it became easier for European and Asian powers to bypass the Sultanate for trade.

In 1850 Sultan Arkaan al-Alyabila took his elder brother's throne. He was forced to combat a conspiracy from his own younger brother to become Sultan and spent the first five years consolidating his throne. Arkaan was able to largely win over his supporters by promising them to renew the greatness of Zagwe. He further solidified this promise by seizing the Seychelles. It took a year to fully establish the military ports now used there, and another two to properly set up the civilian aspect of the Islands under the Sultanate. However by 1865 several hundred Zagweans settled onto the Islands.

Having accomplished this Sultan Arkaan has largely proven to his people he is willing to work toward his goal of rebuilding Zagwe or even expanding it. His commitment to Zagwe is matched by the people's commitment to him.

OP updated, I think.

And, a piece of advice, not for someone in general, let's say that is for everyone, including me. I've seen many roleplays degenerate into series of small posts, with people posting only for the sake of posting. This has never been the case in the past threads of this roleplay, that's why perhaps we've always had less IC pages than others. It's obvious that no one will always have the time or the inspiration to write a good post, but at least, let's not write just for the sake of having an attempt at a post there.

And I believe that I just finally got the accept of the rest of the OP board for you taking both Persia and Nepal. Novacom hasn't said anything yet, but the others agree, and I can hope that our merciful Lord and Savior will bless us with his presence soon.

But yeah, largely, I see no problem with that. Those apps were really good from the beginning. The history of Persia might have to be modified a little though, since there is no Korea and no Pirate Kingdom in this timeline.

Of course.

So, if you repost them here and make that simple change, I can accept them and add them to the OP

Difficult to say, since the entire thing with reservations is somewhat chaotic. Tell us what you have in mind and we'll see if it's free or not.

Well, going by the map I was thinking of either filling in the Low Countries or the north(east)ern United States. Possibly both, although that'd be rather difficult to justify.

The Low Countries are yes, taken, it seems that the map hasn't been updated in the OP, I'll try to find the best variant we have, by the Netherlands and a Burgundy. As for the northeastern US, I think it's free, through check the list of accepted nations in the OP since there are some nations accepted in that area.

Full Nation Name : The Persian Empire; The Imperial State of Iran (Keshvar-e Shāhanshāhi-ye Irān)
Majority/Official Culture : Persian
Territorial Core : YUO KNO WAT I WANT
Territorial Claim : Korean-controlled Persian coastline, Tajikistan, "Alania"
Capital City : Shirāz
Population : 10,050,000

Government Type : Absolute monarchy
Government Ideology/Policies : Nationalism, pan-Iranism
Government Focus : The primary focus of the government is promoting a unified "Iranian" ethnicity among the multiple ethnicities living within the empire in accordance with ancient customs
Head of State : Shahbanu Sitareh Sassani
Head of Government : Shahbanu Sitareh Sassani
Government Description : The government consists of the empress (Shahbanu) acting as an absolute monarch to the nation, guided by an elder council that, although lacking executive and legislative authority, is highly respected and acts to give advise. It is ultimately a system similar to, and perhaps inspired by, the Imperial Senate of Rome.

Majority/State Religion : Zoroastrianism
Religious Description : Presenting the incestuous eternal struggle between good and evil, light and dark, Zoroastrianism is one of the oldest religions in the world continually practiced. This variant of Zoroastrianism considers Zunism, the ethnic religion of the Pashtun, to be a valid sect in its own right, and grants the Pashtun high amounts of local autonomy to allow their continued practice in relative peace.

Economic Ideologies : Moderate Socialism
Major Production : Tropical goods
Economic Description : The economy of Persia is partially-industrialized, and marks Persia as a secondary power, significant to the region but not far elsewhere. It gains plentiful benefit through the mass production of smuggled tropical crops like rubber and spices, although the funding acquired through the sale of these goods is transferred to help build industry, as well as to provide subsidies, welfare, and other basic governmental duties.

Army Strength : The Persian military is highly specialized for mountain warfare, and the small, but notable, Pashtun contingent acts as a sort of Gurkha-style soldier for the Persians. The offensive capabilities of the army are limited in favor of excellent performance in mountainous and jungle terrain.
Army Weakness : The army suffers in flat terrain. Although there are armored cataphract regiments to deal in this sort of terrain, they are not numerous or prevalent enough to be an effective fighting force.
Naval Strength : The navy is given much less attention than land forces, and exists primarily to defend the coastline from hostile entities, rather than to dominate the waves. Clasically, a prisoner can earn a pardon by enlisting in the navy, as it is seen as a place where criminals will not spoil the honor of the army, but can still be of great service to the state. All the same, volunteers and appointed officers ensure that the enlisted criminals would not break their loyalty.
Naval Weakness : Mostly lacking the latest and greatest, really considered a military afterthought.
Further Military Description : I think I'll skip this one. It's been a long day.

National Goals : Live long and prosper
National Issues : Occupation of the coastline, Iranian territories held by foreign powers
National Figures of Interest : Chieftain Arman: One of the dominant tribal leaders of Afghanistan, Chieftain Arman is the pinnacle of military genius in the empire. Trained at the Royal Academy and well-practiced in the art of war, he is a valuable asset of the empire.
National Ambition/Aspirations : Unification of Iranian peoples

History : The rise of Muhammad and his Islamic faith was a devastating force, something that nobody thought could be fought off. All seemed lost, the words and temples of Zoroaster subject to invading nomads who would see it all burn, Persian civilization gone. However, a miracle occurred: Persia and Byzantium led a joint effort to defeat the Islamic invasion of Persia, and the country was preserved. Inspired by a revived nationalism and sense of friendship with the Romans, old feuds were put aside and old respect brought to the forefront. Sassanid interests turned elsewhere, and peace with old enemies was found for all to enjoy.

Islam as a religion found its way across the Indian Ocean in due time, but Persia remained resolute. As the country entered into the Medieval era, and the influence of Islam grew, the Persians rebuilt themselves to adapt. Lesson learned, they built a strong defensive border all around the state. In the 10th century, slow excursions were made into Afghanistan: trade posts were established, military garrisons given thus, treaties were written with nearby tribes, and ultimately the Afghans came under Persian subjugation by the 11th century in most senses of the word, although they were granted high autonomy so as not to offend, and those in power were left in such. As a result, the Zunbils were typically considered the satraps of Afghanistan so as to appease their pre-existing dominance.

In the 12th century, excursions were made attempting to reclaim Parthian ruins from the Turkish invaders. 3 wars were fought over the course of 50 years, with a temporary governance set up in the area to be ultimately repelled at the end of the third war. It became evident that the current strategies were not working, as the Turks knew all of the same strategies and deployed them effectively. A reorganization was in order: new military schools were founded across the empire, more pikes and spears were produced to deal with the cavalrymen, and forces were amassed on the border to provide a powerful initial rush. By the time this was all organized, however, the Mongol invasion occurred. The forces were repurposed to fight off the Mongol horde, and although heavy casualties were sustained, the anti-cavalry implements in coordination with mountainous terrain preserved the majority of Persia in-tact and outside of Mongol control.

It was during this same period, immediately following the invasion, that a new social restructuring would occur. The shahanshah, looking at the Muslims and the empires around him, asked his Jewish wife for counsel. Her response was to eliminate the Persian castes, and to allow a freer trade than had been previously given. So he did: the merchants and artisans were no longer the bottom of society, and multiple trade posts were established, with delegates offering the finest Persian goods, bringing along trails of dancers, musicians, and poets to the Mongols to ask them in a great show of Persian culture to direct the Silk Road through Persia once more, that the empire had much to offer and was now much more merchant-friendly. Thus, the silk roads were more open to Persia than they had once been, and trade flowed as it did in the older days. inspired by this, the shahanshah would likewise reinstate multiple ancient institutions that had long ago fallen into disrepair, reorganizing Persia to be independent of the outside influences that had crept in and making it a much stronger local culture, with reforms to architecture, infrastructure, society, and economy all coming across the next few centuries.

By 1500, Persia had completed reorganization of institutions to eliminate the corrupted priesthood and the power it had held, old roads were rebuilt, trade posts established, and universities founded and refounded. Jews and Afghans were given full legal rights, as it had once been, to encourage both internal stability and the trade roads that both ethnicities had strong connections to. This trend would continue as Persia fiercely guarded and promoted the Silk Road trade routes so as to secure its own position as a relevant power. However, with increased prosperity came increased opportunity, and piracy began to grow along the Persian coastline. Measures were put in place to eliminate and suppress such acts, but the valuable Indian Ocean marketplace proved too tempting. In due time, the Persian coastline fell to pirates as Persia redirected resources to once again secure itself.

In the following centuries, the Persian effort to recapture its coastline and eliminate the bandits came to fruition. In 1612, the Persians launched a series of raids, skirmishes, and full-on invasions known as the "Pirate Wars". From 1612-1630, these carried on, with various bands of pirates being rounded up and imprisoned, some sold into slavery, some executed, and some of the pirate women taken as trophies or concubines for Persian lords. One notorious pirate, Mahshid, would go on to bear the next Sassanid king. A new golden age occurred with piracy in the Indian Ocean greatly reduced, and a new line of ships were constructed by the Persian navy for coastal defense to prevent such things from ever occurring again.

Guidance Name : Frashokereti: The Final Renovation of the World
Guidance Description : The Sassanid survival of the Islamic invasion led to significant changes across Early Medieval history. Flourishing in a newly renewed and proud state, the Academy of Gondishapur produced some of the most magnificent advancements of the era. Rapid advancements in science, art, and medicine were made, and numerous Persian scientists and philosophers produced an empire of advancement. Numerous copycat academies would go on to be established across the empire. Without Ash'ari traditionalists or significant Mongol advancement into the area, the Persian arts and sciences were given free reign to flourish, and none of it would be lost to the theoretical burning and pillaging of Mongol invaders.

When the Renaissance was ushered in, this ultimately led to a unique position for Persia: trapped between the advancing worlds of Europe and East Asia, placed on the Silk Roads and friendly to outside traders, knowledge from both sides would creep into Persia as time went on. Unlike the seaborne route to China spurred by hostile Islamic dominance, the Persians showed themselves friendly and capable traders and guards of the Silk Roads, and thus were able to partake in the exchange of goods and knowledge across such vast areas, even when their coastline was lost to piracy.
Affected Area : Silk Road area, Iranian Plateau, South Asia, Middle East

Full Nation Name : The Kingdom of Nepal (नेपाल अधिराज्य)
Majority/Official Culture : Khas/Gurkha (different terms for the primary Indo-Aryan populace of Nepal)
Territorial Core : http://i.imgur.com/o6TVVVx.png
Territorial Claim : Sikkim, Bhutan, North India
Capital City : Kathmandu
Population : 6 million

Government Type : Monarchy
Government Ideology/Policies : Defensive, economic, slight expansionism
Government Focus : Culture and religion
Head of State : Avani Gupta
Head of Government : Avani Gupta
Government Description : The monarchy of Nepal functions both as a theocratic and a secular position. Nepal, the home of Buddhism and a very important place in Hinduism, as well as containing a significant syncretic minority of the two, allows whatever ruler is in power to take control, almost like a pope, of Theravada Buddhism. While influence is not nearly as powerful as the Pope's, the Nepali monarchy serves as an alternative line for religious leadership, in contrast to the Vajrayana Lama in Tibet. This originates not in priestly focus, but in the fact that Nepal is the homeland of Buddhism, and the protector of its holiest sites. Thus, while holding little sway over the affairs of other countries, the Theravada (Pali canon) Buddhists could potentially be rallied to a defense of their holy sites.

It also features the unique Indian caste system, which legitimizes the rule of the reigning monarch. While the dynasty currently presiding was originally Vaishya, the caste of merchants and farmers, they have since elevated through means both miraculous and discreet. Kshatriyas, the warriors and kings, are the natural leaders in Hindu philosophy, and thus are considered to have a divine right to rule. Combining this with being the protector of Buddhism, Nepal inspires a state wherein Hinduism and Buddhism can coexist peacefully, alongside the various animist faiths of its Sino-Tibetan peoples.

Majority/State Religion : Vaishnavist Hinduism
Religious Description : The Vaishnavist school of Hinduism makes itself distinct from the other major schools by revering Vishnu as the supreme deity. It is the most popular form of Hinduism in India and Nepal, though the other schools (Shaivism-Shiva; Shaktism-Shakti; Smartism-Brahma) tend to be more prevalent among outside communities (IE: Gypsies/Romani tend to follow Shaktism)

Economic Ideologies : Limited capitalism
Major Production : Lumber, metals, and jewels
Economic Description : The Nepali economy is of decent strength, surprisingly strong for its humble size. It primarily exports raw materials, though jewels are also a notable export. Widespread industrialism has not yet seen Nepal, although it is able to gain industrial goods through trade with others. Being at the Himalayan crossroads between India and China allows for it to be almost like its own Constantinople, and being a major site of pilgrimage only adds to this. However, it cannot compete with the larger powers around it, acting instead as a secondary economic power in the region.

Army Strength : The Nepali army is of good strength. Hearty mountain life had provided tough soldiers to fight for their country, and the Himalayan altitude has given them a significantly higher red blood cell count, carrying all the implications of such with them. A chunk of the soldiers carry very high morale due to seeing the fight as a religious defense of Nepal. See above for details on that.
Army Weakness : The weaponry of the army is fairly out-of-date. Old trade guns simply aren't as good as the newer, shinier models used by the industrialized nations.
Naval Strength : Does snow count as navy?
Naval Weakness : Sleds don't have armor
Further Military Description: The military is filled with various ethnicities from all around Nepal. The Buddhists feel in defense of their faith due to Nepal being a traditional protector of Buddhist holy sites. The army uses fairly outdated technology, wielding guns that are decades out of date, and the low relative population of Nepal causes issues in a western-style invasion. Tactics largely revolve around guerrilla fighting. The soldiers are experts in mountain and hill warfare, but not much else. Thanks to their high blood cell count, though, they generally have much higher stamina, and can endure much better in mountainous environments. A great army? Most certainly not. A helpful boost to a larger one? Most certainly.

[b]National Goals :
Expand into immediate surroundings, survive, prosper.
National Issues : Modernization, perhaps industrialization on any scale, lack of alliances
National Figures of Interest : Siddhartha Shakya, later known as Buddha.
National Ambition/Aspirations : Creation of a powerful trans-Himalayan state, alliance with powerful nations, and restoration of glory to the dynasty.

History: Nepal's history started long ago, in the Vedic period. There were many tribes and kingdoms in the area, from the Newar domain of Kathmandu to the Shakya Republic led by the Khas. Things all changed, however, when a Shakya prince ran from home and became a wandering ascetic, criticizing and mocking the ways of the Hindu monks. This man was Buddha, and he would forever change the fate of Nepal. Although the Nepali area remained Hindu, the new Buddhist faith spread into Bengal and Tibet, eventually reaching China and Japan as well. The revolutionary faith forever left its mark on Southeast Asia, in its scattered forms.

Nepal was, at one point, dominated by the Newar. Their city of Kathmandu was the most prosperous, and they saw their own expansion into the surrounding kingdoms. What they did not see coming, however, was the Gupta Empire. The Gupta reunification of India after the fall of the Maurya, or at least coming close to reunifying it, established a strong cultural legacy that was never quite forgotten. Hindus, Buddhists, and Jains all lived peacefully under a single leadership. This model would inspire even those outside their domain, bringing Indian faiths together in relative harmony.

Nothing lasts forever. The Gupta Empire began to fall. It shrank back into its home territory, then slowly and surely it fell into obscurity. A resurgence occurred in Bihar, but it was not long lived, as they shrank once more into the northernmost reaches of India. The last stretches of a dynasty fled to Nepal, where they gained power through various means. The Guptas, using the effective systems once used across India, were able to gradually expand their kingdom outward and capture more territory, uniting Nepal before expanding further across the Himalayas. Though the Guptas, now thoroughly Khas culturally, linguistically, and ethnically, still dream of their lost empire, they are content to take what they can, and Nepal is not a bad choice.

Looks good. There is one bold code somewhere broken in the Nepal app though.

Nevertheless, I can say that the nation apps are both accepted. As for the guidance, I like it, but we should have to wait to proper edit it once we start discussing Elerian's guidance that brings the Roman tech on the same level as the Occident, because you might not need to do a guidance after all. Elerian's guidance is based on Islam never fully rising, and as such, the Romans kept their advantage, but Persia could be fit in just as easily.

And pursuant to that question; @Ik Ka Ek Akai, I'm not entirely confident that Rubber can be grown in Persia, although I could be wrong.
