Government Ideology/Policies : The Sultanate is torn between an old generation of neutrality that is rapidly fading and a new generation of modern radicals that want to bring the nation into the 19th century kicking and screaming. There are two main groups, the alrruuws albayda', or white heads, and the ruasa' al'ahmar or red heads. The White Heads represent the old order that wishes to maintain the traditions of the nation and not to modernize,relying on the teachings of Allah and negotiation, they are mainly led by the older heads of state and former town overseers. The Red Heads are much younger and often leave the nation to seek out other western style technologies and loans from foreign lands. They mainly wish to take the nation into the modern age and invite western capitalists to invest in the nation. As the second group is in charge of the Armed forces, they are trying their hardest to modernize the armed forces, with limited success as of yet.
Government Focus : The nation is currently testing the waters and has several different focuses they are working on, with a mainly western style education system getting a majority of rescources, and a small textile industry starting up with investors. The military is getting the butt's end of funding, and as such they flock to the ruasa' al'ahmar ranks and are

Government Description : The Government of Al Sahara as it is called is based entirely on the power balance between the Son, who commands the army,navy and the armed forces, and the Father, who is in charge of running the nation, the house of Shalez, a local ministry of 120 elders that vote on issues, they are appointed equally with a 60/60 split between Hasha and Jafar. There are no elections, as the elders rule until death or five years before 90, in which they may appoint a successor via a smoked leaf. There is a strong sense of loyalty only to whomever either put them in power first or whom pays them the most, and corruption runs rampant throughout the government.

Material Wealth is of little importance, but not a sin ( to allow landlords to stay in power) 2. The Power to conduct good deeds trumps those that are considered bad. 3. The Blessings of Allah can only be acquired through semi daily prayer,mosque attendance and religious bargaining with other faiths to accept their ideas.

Major Production : Wool,Spices,local medicines and precious metals.
Economic Description : the economy of Al Sahara is mainly dependent on Imports from local tribes that have not fully allied with, but are ambivalent towards the feuding nobility on either side. It sells local materials that western nations need and want for a small profit, although they are often ripped off in price and forced into unequal economic treaties that fuel the flames of revolution more.

Army Strength : Slightly modernized, with a large number of peasant infantry armed with local guns made from gunsmiths that take dedicated time in getting paid for their hard work. the field cannons of the army are brand new,but only in a few dozen total.
Army Weakness : The number of heavy guns are minute and the average peasant has not a lot of experience in using the new European style weapons given to them. The men also have to take orders from the Prince and not the King, which brings up loyalty issues again.
Naval Strength : The Saharan Fleet is rather of modest size,with several ships having armored plates and several of them being the first vessels in the navy since it's conception. a total of 1 Ironclad 6 steam ships and 11 small gunboats are modern ships in the nation. The Navy also has dozens of traditional wooden galleys, and talks are underway for a new class of steam galleys that will free up manpower needed for more weapons.
Naval Weakness : Outdated and has old admirals that are stuck in the past, many of the sailors turn to piracy,which may get foreign powers involved and is seen as one of the more wreck less branches to the Saharan nation, with little oversight.

National Goals : Modernize the nation via getting foreign investors in the nation to build up railroads, factories and shipyards for the armed forces and the economy of the nation.
National Issues :The nation needs to figure out how to modernize within a short period of time, but there are several major obstacles.
1. Scores of local tribes are leading several resistance movements,many of whom did not want to be part of the union in the first place, and instead of modernizing the army, more focus in put on defeating the rebels using traditional methods, as a major fear is the rebels acquiring the western guns and turning them agaisnt the nation's army in a bloody revolution.

1800- Rebel nobles, upset at paying high taxes and feeling Kohrani is pushing the nation too much revolt and attempts to overthrow him, but this leads to a devastating civil war that results in the rebels being defeated.
1810- Taking Advantage of the political instability, Kirvani Agbar and his forces overthrow Kohrani and start a new dynasty,The Al Sahara Agbar Dynasty, and this dynasty has ruled the nation to the present day.
1833- Plauge of Kafir kills 60,000 people, army called in to kill survivors. The Genocide of Harsla boosts popularity of rival Dynasty called the Shareb Kifa Dynasty, led by Rasouli Groseli Kifa.
1835- Kifa begins a second civil war when he attempts to overthrow the Agbar Dynasty
1846- Battle of Sachelb Els Kisi, Decisive Agbarian loyalist victory, ends the Kifa rebellion or second North African civil war
1850- First meeting of the Council of Elders, tax system formed with small exceptions to loyal nobility and soldiers.
1855- Scandal of Jeszar, a council of elders member that took 300,000 Jarebs (currency) and loaned them to rival warlords, he is purged and Council of Elders is investigated by Prince Jafar, agaisnt his father's wishes. The investigation turns up 23 other members who are executed or exiled from the nation.This begins cracks in the Al Sahara Agbar Dynasty, cracks that will soon give way...

The last time I did something similar though it took an eternity to receive everyone, one by one. It would be for the best to start by describing the coronation and saying that the foreign dignitaries are there, and then maybe have the newly crowned Emperor interact with people.

But ugh, De Ceremoniis is so confusing.

It's more the fact that there's a decrease in arguing and a lot of people are getting back to thinks now, so we're going to have a looksee through the apps sort things out and likely have an IC up by the end of the week.
