Holy High was my fifth (sixth?) attempt at an RP, and to be honest, the only one that didn't completely fail.

I don't know why exactly, but I have a pretty good idea. You see, unlike my previous RPs, Holy High was a community of new RPers, gaining their footing, and growing together as writers. We became a family through Holy High, one that has kept this RP going strong for over a year and a half, through three IC threads, and four OOC threads.

Finally, after all that, we decided the time had come to reboot, to set things back to the origin, and relive the grand adventure all over again.

Holy High, The New U, is less of a Reboot, than it is an invitation, to old players, and new, to jump into the engaging, whimsical realm of Holy High, and have some violent, hilarious, dramatic, tear wrenching, sometimes ridiculous Holy High fun.

Holy High - The New U - OOC I

Holy High is your standard God / Mythological RP, with a simple twist. Your chosen deity is now a High School student at the prestigious, and often dangerous Holy High, located in New Jerusalem, New Jersey. Battle, laughter, godly puberty and chaos follow. All that is expected and much, much more, with plots that focus on anything from High School drama, to inter-dimensional manhunts and everything in between. We'll have classic high school moments, and battles of mythological proportions. Pun intended.

I'm not gonna go into much more lore / back story detail, mostly because a lot of the lore will be revealed through plot. The first two arcs have been sorta worked out, but Charlia and I are always open to ideas!

Name: Charlotte/Shekhinah

Mythos: A weird mix of Judeo-Christian and totally made-up stuff, I guess.

Powers / Abilities / Domains / Gear: Powers? Powers?! Dude, I'm not giving you a list of those! That would be insane! Just consider yourself lucky that she doesn't like fighting, otherwise you would be screwed. And her domain is glory and justice. Specifically, she's basically the Old Testament counterpart of Jesus, except stuff happened so... no one's really ever heard of her. Also, who needs gear when you're this?

Age: 17

Mythical Origin: She's God's daughter. Born as the incarnation of glory and justice, she lived a relatively uneventful childhood until disaster struck, a betrayal and a great injustice that ripped her soul in two and resulted in her being thrown from Heaven.

Personality: While Charlotte herself is more timid and unobtrusive, usually doing her best not to draw any unwanted attention to herself, her Shekhinah personality is much more forceful and less caring about other people's feelings(and has a view of morality more black and white than a zebra and penguin musical in the 1920s). Before the two were split, they were a much more stable personality, a mixture between the two, but, well, nowadays they're much more... extreme. Shekhinah can barely even stand occupying Charlotte's body because it feels so wrong to her.

Appearance:

As for Shekhinah, well, her real form is pretty much just light. Ever looked straight at the sun? Multiply that exponentially and you might be getting close. The more sinful a person you are, the worse it is. Those who are sinless are able to look at the light without fear of being blinded or burned, but even the smallest spot of blackness can cause Shekhinah to turn against you.

Favorite Subject: She doesn't know. She's really okay with anything--she doesn't want to be a bother.

Likes: The color green, cute things, people who are nice to her, Mara, angels, justice, light

Dislikes: Injustices, betrayal, her past, herself, being shouted at, being touched unexpectedly, surprises in general

Name: Mara

Mythos: Totally freaking made up.

Powers / Abilities / Domains / Gear: She's half-demon and half weird-light-creature-thing, and her powers come from her parents--she gets a lot of her mother's (extremely versatile) abilities, and from her father, she gets some of the things her mother doesn't have--such as control over elements of hell. She is very powerful, although, being a child, she prefers to just have fun. (Note: Her powers have not yet developed.)

Age: She's four. Screw you.

Mythical Origin: Look up!

Personality: Very loyal to her mother, and sweet to everyone else. Usually smiling. Then there's the occasional outbursts of her more demonic side, which is pretty cruel and sadistic.

Appearance:

She looks much like her mother, except that her hair is a slightly darker shade and one of her eyes is silver(and occasionally gold) instead of blue.

Favorite Subject: Anything, if she can do it with her mother!

Likes: Her mother, nice people, sunshine, flowers, birds, angels, all sorts of lovely stuff like that

Dislikes: Her father, people who are mean for no reason, demons, when her mother is sad or lonely

Name: Haruka Miyamoto, but she's not a god, she's a ghost

Mythos: Pretty much everything, ever.

Powers / Abilities / Domains / Gear: Invisibility, can phase through things, and the ability to reveal her very very creepy true form to whoever she chooses. Her true form is basically a bloody skeleton with blackened eye sockets and shreds of skin hanging off it. It's disturbing. Basically, ghosty stuff.

Age: 16 in life, centuries old in death

Mythical Origin: She's a ghost. Way way back during the feudal era of Japan, Haruka married an older samurai. She was young at the time, because this was way way back when such things were common. At the age of 16, she found herself expecting her first child. Her twin sister, however, was jealous of Haruka's marriage, and even moreso of her child. She exploited their similar appearance to trick the samurai into believing that Haruka was unfaithful, and it resulted in the loss of Haruka's life, as well as that of her unborn child.

Personality: She's lonely. Very lonely. And sad. She feels betrayed, both by her sister and her husband(though she forgave them both), and questions herself often due to the worry that it was something bad about her that allowed her husband to believe that she had been unfaithful. But she's a very caring person, and loves her daughter more than anything.

Mythos: Original

Powers / Abilities / Domains / Gear: Multiplying, really. It's impossible for either of them to create something out of nothing, but if something is already there, they can create as much of it as they want. This extends to amplifying the powers of others and creating copies of themselves or others. Aida also has the ability to heal, while Adrienne can cause pain.

Age: 17

Mythical Origin: Aida and Adrienne weren't always goddesses. They were once human beings, twin sisters in fact. It was only when a catastrophic event resulted in Adrienne's death that they gained their powers. Adrienne's spirit entered Aida's body, and the two of them became a strange being that was neither goddess nor human. The two of them still inhabit the same form, and only one can control it at a certain time.

Personality: Aida is a very nice person. She's always very friendly and kind to others. Adrienne, however, is more depressed, and is much more likely to lash out at people. Neither of them can entirely remember what the other one has done when in control, and their fuzzy memories make it so that one will do something and the other will forget about it, or say something and then claim that they didn't. Seems like a very forgetful person, but in reality, it's just that there happen to be two of them.

Likes: Aida likes all sorts of nice things and will talk at length about them. Adrienne will just give people weird looks if they ask what she likes.

Personality: Regal and poised, Amaterasu won't take any nonsense. To those she cares for, she shows almost motherly tendencies, but still won't take any nonsense. Not that she doesn't have a sense of humor--she just doesn't like nonsense.

Mythical Origin: Uhm... Poof. God said 'Let there be Raphael, my cute yet somewhat rebellious angel of compassion!' and so it was.

Personality: He saved all the pets from Sodom and Gomorrah. I think that says enough.

Likes: Compassion, Kindness, all forms of Humanity, music, animals, tolerance, and humility.

Dislikes: Intolerance, cruelty, animal abuse, a flagrant disregard for human life, and arrogance.

Mythos: Japanese and Early Chinese

Powers/Abilities/Domains/Gear: Weather Manipulation in the form of snow generation, cold generation, and ice generation. He's Jack Frost, but turtle-y and cute.

Age: Looks 18, but again, he got that God-life going.

Mythical Origin: Uhm... Some people saw a black turtle and were like, 'Boi, we need that as god.' And it was so.

Personality: You know Genbu! He's that emotionless cold dude that's Ryujin's slave...

Appearance: Here he is! All nice and broody! Just like how Charli likes 'em!

Likes: Cold, Winter, Asian culture, fighting, turtles, his long lost sea turtle brethren, helping people, protecting people, and majong.

Name: Bahamut

Mythos: Dungeons and Dragons

Powers / Abilities / Domains / Gear: Bahamut is the god of good dragons, wisdom, and justice. His main power is to turn into a 180 foot-long dragon.

Age: Around 2,500 years old in Toril years, but right now his human form appears to be 15 years old, and that's what he's going to maintain.

Mythical Origin: Through a paradox in space and time, the god Bahamut of Toril was thrust into this universe. He didn't know where to go, and wandered around for a couple years, with really no idea of what to do from here. One day, his travels took him to New Jerusalem, and he found this high school. He hopes that this will help him go back home.

Personality: As of now, he's ambitious, and he feels a strong urge to prove himself in this new world. However, he is wise, and he knows when to step back. However, if he is in danger, then he isn't afraid to go into his dragon form.

God's Name: Filia Umbrarum

Mythos: Custom

Powers And Domain:

-Personal Domain: Filia Umbrarum's domain is a dimension called 'The Shadow Realm'. It is a perpetually dark forest with a starry sky that stretches on forever. Within this realm there is also a dark castle built into a very tall mountain beside a village of worshippers. In the Shadow Realm, Filia is utterly omnipotent and it is also here where she stores all that she steals.

-Darkness Manipulation: Filia Umbrarum is a goddess of darkness and shadows. She can generate and manipulate shadows as well as create constructs of anything she wishes out of them. Filia also has the ability to become a shadow herself and teleport upon touching shadows and/or create dark doorways to her personal domain. She can also see perfectly in the dark and control how dark it is in a room as well as use darkness to levitate.

-Absolute Thievery: Being a kleptomaniac herself, Filia Umbrarum is the patron saint of thieves, pickpockets, and robbers. She has the capacity to blend in with the shadows (or become a shadow herself), slip into tight spaces, avoid detection from guards, and escape without leaving behind any evidence. Filia Umbrarum can pickpocket and pick locks as easy as pie, as well as steal anything and everything her divine will desires.

Age: Has ruled in the Shadow Realm for thousands years, but takes the appearance and persona of a 13 year old.

Origin: A kleptomanic daughter of primordial creation gods, Filia was given her own realm, The Shadow Realm, to rule with omnipotence and omniscience, but was then sent to Holy High for education like any other child.

RP-Personality: Filia Umbrarum is a sweet, kind, lovable and nerdish girl who loves helping people and making friends. However, she's also a kleptomaniac who loves to steal from others simply for sport. Though she does have a Code of Honor which Filia expects all thieves to follow and those who break this code, especially by spilling blood or taking from the poor, are suspect to her wrath.

Mythos: No Game No Life

Powers / Abilities / Domains / Gear: The God of Games, The One True God of Disboard

Age: Around 6000+ years or so, younger than most divine beings but physically looks 13 or 12

Mythical Origin: Tet was born from the wishes of a human, a wish for a God who would shun violence and instead rule with a peaceful hand.

Personality: Tet is quite a slacker and most likely float around the school during classes. He is also mischievous and has his head over the clouds. He also doesn't want to resort into violence but if needed, he just needs to play his pieces the right way.

Appearance:  Have you ever looked at this kid and ask yourself why is he even the supreme god of his world?

Favorite Subject: Physical Education

Likes: Sweets, games, colorful stuff, cards, chess pieces, rainbows, kind and intelligent people, divine order, humanity in general

Name: Xavier

Mythos: Christianity

Powers and Domain: Angel who controls fire and light with his special staff, the Throne
Staff (he's a Throne, a rank of angel.) He's from Heaven, naturally, being an angel. While he's in human form, if he turns the notches on his staff to Level 8 (max level), he turns into his full-angel form...which is a huge burning red wheel with lots of eyes and wings. Also has healing powers, flight (duh), and super-strength.

Age (Teenage Years): 19

Origin: Created by God at the beginning of time, he was involved in the War in Heaven and
nearly turned against God, until the angel Raphael talked him out of it, and helped him to
fight for the right side. Has lived in the Japanese countryside for a long time, and is the guardian angel to a Japanese boy, Ichiru. Xavier has three younger siblings-Melita, Aurora, and Ivy, though Ivy turned on God and became a demon. However, this was all in an alternate dimension, not quite one related to his current story.

Xavier now lives at Holy High, in order to protect the other students there. In the meantime, he acts as a representative of God's will, and is one of the main generals of His army. He takes his work seriously, though he of course has no problem also being the most light-hearted member of a group. Since the world was reset, he has once again started over as a student. Most of his memories have been erased, but every now and then he has odd dreams about what might be his past...

RP Personality: Reverent of sacred things, and also cheerful, talkative, and rather easygoing. A very likeable character who treats younger students like little siblings. Just don't make him angry by hurting someone he loves...He has a blazing (pun intended) temper. He tends to take a leadership role in many situations, and one of his faults is that he is often concerned as to whether or not he does a good job of protecting his classmates.

Least Favorite Class: Doesn't really hate any classes.

Favorite sport: Will play any sport if you invite him.

Likes: His family, his fellow Angels (siblings and Raphael, his best friend), humans, food (especially ramen), the color pink, joking around, fireflies, and starry nights, and music-playing piano, specifically.

Dislikes: Demons, people trying to hurt his family or friends, watching people suffer, people insulting God/Jesus, annoying pop music.

God's Name: Patriah Fanuta (First name means "Desert Wind" in Altarian)

Mythos: Altarian

Powers and Domain: The Mage of Wind, he is a magically-infused humanoid who controls and keeps the balance of wind and wind currents. Using his blade, the Dragonwing Blade, he can summon huge storms, if he chooses. Also, being a Mage, he has enhanced healing abilities, flight, super-speed, enhanced reflexes, and he is an empath-he can read emotions of others.

Age: 19

Origin: Originally from the village of Gina, he moved to Mica in order to go to school there. There, he became close to Hamiri Yu, a fellow student, despite him knowing his identity as a Mage would eventually lead to him possibly making the ultimate sacrifice to protect the balance of the world. However, in order to do so, he left the village with Hamiri, and they made a contract-he was the Mage, and she would be his servant, following his commands and working with him to hone her powers. Unfortunately, war and Patriah's own complex inner demons separated the two, though they were eventually united in the previous timeline.

Their exploits in the Great Altarian War are unknown, but it is thought that they were both successful in bringing peace to their world. However, now that the universe has been reset, things are rather different at home for both characters. Furthermore, Patriah has now begun to discover different abilities of his, leading him to wonder if perhaps his own nature is beginning to change...

RP Personality: Generally a sourpuss, cynical, and easily irritated. He has a very hard time forming relationships with others, and has a tendency to push away anyone who tries to befriend him. However, this stems from his knowledge of his true identity as a Mage, under his human form, and of his knowledge of his duties. Beneath his thick armor, Patriah is secretly quiet and compassionate, but won't admit it. If angered, he can say awful things to people, and has no problem throwing around death threats.

Least Favorite Class: Math, English, History

Favorite Sport: Probably kendo.

Likes: Not much (that he is willing to talk about.) Probably Hamiri, but he won't admit it outright. Also like money, and his sword. He definitely likes to fight and talk trash, too.

Dislikes: Most everyone and everything (or so he says). Definitely doesn't like any force that tips the balance in favor of darkness.
