map area per pixel is constant, shape is distorted. streched east/west at poles and north/south at equator. This is for 10k x 5k pixel map

1 17 hexes divided between all nations making claims, 20 if in Archon, Strei-AR, or Meridia
2 +50% bonus if land locked, for entire nation
3* +50% for semi-arid & subarctic, +100% for arid & tundra, +200% for polar
*Bonus hexes from this must be of semi-arid, sub-arctic, arid, tundra, or polar
Alternative method of counting bonus,

count each hex as 2/3, 1/2, or 1/3 respectively. Treating the hexes as partial hexes will give the same total hexes, but is easier to figure with mixed climates.
For example, a nation with 10 non-bonus hexes(count as 10), 6 tundra(count as 3), and 6 subarctic(count as 4) would be a considered a 17 hex claim. If also land locked it would count as 11 and 1/3 hex(2/3 of 17) claim

Expansion claims 2 hexes per month, bonus 2 and 3 apply, dispatch link needed. Roleplay claims not limited per month, monthly claims may be up to 2 months late.

Goatway Islands, many of those are not full hexes, entire island is just under 16. So, you could claim whole island and tip of land to south and be at 17. You also didn't say what colour you wanted claim to be. You can claim less if you want, I just wanted to let you know you could claim more.
