CVECAGRAD, CHEVORZEB - Following the declaration of independence of the state of Visinia and its secession from the Ceresnian republic, the international community has gathered to commend and support the Visinian independence action as a triumph of freedom and liberty. In stark contrast however, the Synkomese government has made a statement condemning the act of Visinian independence as 'unconstitutional' and 'illegal', alongside 'warnings' to nations who have pledged support to Visinia.

Foreign Affairs Administrator Zeljko Majakovsky has stated, in both the communique and at a news conference concerning the situation, that the Visinian independence was proclaimed unilaterally and had not undergone any legal procedures, thereby rendering it as an unlawful and unconstitutional act. Majakovsky also stated that even if Ceresnia was to permit such an act, by all means it should undergo legal procedures required for its recognition as a new sovereign state, and that such an act, without such legal permission, is akin to 'declaring ownership to a house without the title deeds'. The Synkom has stated it will not recognize Visinian independence so long as it continues to be unlawful in nature.

On a more controversial note, Majakovsky has accused the international community of 'a conspiracy to weaken the Ceresnian nation' through their support of Visinian sovereignty. Majakovsky stated that an unconstitutional secession being recognized is a paramount failure of the western liberal democratic movement and is a demonstration of the hypocrisy of the international community. Majakovsky also indicted the nations in support of Visinia to be actually 'in conspiracy to butcher the Ceresnian people' and to 'propagate their own brood, to force their own ideology onto others without regard' while 'extracting local resources and benefits for themselves'. The Synkom has also issued a warning to such states in question on the mentioned grounds.

Visinia declared independence earlier in July, with Radomir Brostkov, a prominent former guerrilla leader, as its proclaimed president. This has been the first time since 1947 any entity attempted separation from the Ceresnian republic and pressure on the matter has built immensely and 'is now higher than ever before', says the Ceresnian President, Bogdan Vostrikov. Thusfar, Ceresnia has deployed its armed forces in a 'full-scale annexation' of Visinian territory in response along with a search for prominent members of the separatist movement.

Verdansk, Srbica - The Ministry of the Interior (MUP)'s armed elements have raided and destroyed the hideout of a criminal syndicate, the 'Blue Pine' group, located in Zelenjevo, Verdansk State. The raid resulted in 83 dead, of which 80 were members of the Blue Pine criminal syndicate, the rest 3 being MUP personnel killed as a result of collateral damage. 60 members of the syndicate were also arrested and will be up for trials after their hospitalization.

The location of the 'Blue Pine' syndicate's headquarters in Zelenjevo was verified in June when extensive undercover MUP operations in the area confirmed the scope of the group's activity and its key locations. After two weeks of planning, the MUP carried out the raid on the Blue Pine hideout, a building formerly part of a factory in the area. 240 MUP operators, 60 protected vehicles and 10 armoured fighting vehicles were involved in the raid against around 160 syndicate members who were, quite coincidentally, congregating in the hideout in a meeting according to undercover agents at the site.

At 1100 hours local time, three Rodoljub main battle tanks at MUP command fired anti-structure kinetic penetrators onto the building, following which mortar-carriers launched thermobaric and chemical shells through the penetration points. Bombardment of the building continued for another minute, during which armed and armoured agents entered the building and used extensively thermobaric hand grenades against opponents within the building. 20 flamethrower units were then sent into the building to assist with ongoing efforts. Continuous bombardment resulted in heavy structural damage, with sections collapsing as a partial result of chronic lack of maintenance.

By 1150, MUP agents had stormed much of the building. However, miscoordination in communication led to another thermobaric mortar shell being fired, resulting in collateral damage and the death of 3 operatives. At 1214 hours, everal individuals, suspected to be Blue Pine leadership and their entourage, attempted escape from a hidden northern exit. MUP responded with use of flamethrowers and heavy machine gun fire. Despite previous assumptions of heavy reduction in Blue Pine strength and morale, the entourage of the escaping party made themselves difficult opponents for police despite the use of highly lethal weapons. After slaughtering much of the party, an incapacitated but still alive Radovan Jurišić, suspected head of the syndicate, as well as 5 other individuals, were recovered.

At 1230, the entire building was cleansed of Blue Pine members with much of the remnants surrendering. A Synkomese flag was raised above the building as an act of celebration. MUP agents subsequently escorted surviving captives and arrestees outside of the building, which proceeded without any incident or resistance from the arrested individuals. Authorities say the captured criminals will be hospitalized while in detainment and will be turned in for trials on charges and accusations of drug trafficking, smuggling, extortion, murder, possession of unauthorized materials as well as several other charges. An officer commented on the raid being an 'extreme success' for the MUP and Synkomese law enforcement.

Despite the triumph of the law enforcement, many have criticized again the heavy-handed tactics and approaches of the MUP to be a paramount demonstration of police brutality. One civil rights spokesperson denounced the operation as 'callous' and protested the reckless use of military equipment and thermobaric weapons in particular.

The 'Blue Pine' syndicate is a known criminal group of considerable strength based in Verdansk state, but have several operations within the borders of Kuzenvok to the east. Due to a historical lack of law enforcement in Crnotica, as well as rampant mafia activity in the region, the group has been able to survive for prolonged periods of time.

Tima, Grajoya - The government of the Democratic Republic of Grajoya, the Synkom's token agrarian socialist regime admitted to the Combine during its monarchical days in 1962, has announced the conclusion of the 2011-2016 five year plan and the initiation of the new 2016-2021 five-year plan. Officials claim success of the 2011-2016 plan with multiple areas exceeding production expectation and that the success is expected to last and be repeated in the new plan.

The 2011-2016 plan, which showed increased emphasis in the production of non-essential consumer products such as cleaner products, household appliances and others, was announced and praised by officials as 'paramount demonstration of the growing living standards in our democratic republic'. Armaments production also increased, particularly in the field of high-end equipment such as missiles, radar and communications technology, and was claimed by officials as 'a response of our nation to the growing aggression of reactionaries on the international stage against our ideological brethren [in Bulgaria]', referring to both the Greco-Bulgarian War and the Reorganization War (of which its narrative in the field unwillingly served as another thrust of synfederalism against septakt pseudo-moralism). Overall, production quotas were largely met or exceeded with only 2 districts underperforming but only by small margins. The total gross domestic product generated over the course of the 2011-2016 plan was $1.12 trillion with an average of $280 billion per year, within a nation of 24 million. Domestically produced Grajoyan brands of various products such as bleach and appliances are also being exported to neighbouring Synkomese states as a 'testimony to the quality of our socialist economy's products', officials say.

Newly initiated 2016-2021 plan is intended to continue the production of civilian products while increasing food production by percentage to sustain potentially growing populations. Armaments is also expected to continue in production, particularly high-end military technology, so to allow the Democratic Republic's military to 'gain a technical edge over dangerous reactionaries'. Continued work by the State Laboratory at Colina Negro is expected to produce new, more advanced products for use by the Grajoyan Revolutionary People's Army of Liberation, and also to continue progress on new designs for conventional weaponry. Grajoya expects a debut of its new main battle tank in 2018 and introduction in 2019, and a 'new communication system' to be introduced in 2018. It is expected that the success of the previous plan be repeated 'as socialist zeal burns ever-intensely in the Democratic Republic', the officials say. Raw materials production will be decreased in scale and demand as a surplus has already been built up, but will maintain at a rate.

Grajoya became an agrarian socialist state following its own interpretation of Maoist ideology in 1993 following a revolution against the right-wing military dictatorship that had took over the country in 1984. Following a relatively peaceful introduction with less than 100 executed following the establishment of the regime, the state faced difficulties such as damage from war, economic problems and ideological hostility from other states. Eventually it overcame many of these difficulties and has a growing economy under its currency-absent agrarian system. Grajoya's socialist state signed an agreement with the Synkom in 2009 to maintain its own existence without outside intervention at the terms of no contact with its ideological brethren in the Leftist Agrarian Revolutionary Union such as Bulgar Rouge.

Ding Kangcheng passes away at age of 102

Wangping, Jinfang - The prime engineer of the Yaojian-1 project, the Synkom's first ICBM design, Dr. Ding Kangcheng, has passed away in Chuxiong, Jinfang on the 2nd of August at the age of 102. Recognizing the man's role in consolidating the status of the Synkom as a power and reinforcing its inviolable defences, many mourned the man's passing at his funeral in Chuxiong on the 4th of August.

Ding was born in 1914 in Feixi, Jinfang, and attended education on engineering, and studied the then largely theoretical field of rocket science in university. Rudimentary was the curriculum on the field back then with only simple materials derived from scientists working in Jinfang and Srbica and studiers of existing rocket models, Ding was considered the best-learnt of the rocket science students, which factored into his later appointment as head engineer of the Yaojian-1.

Following the successful testing of a fission nuclear weapon in 1954 by the Synkomese military, it was quickly recognized that, in order for the weapons to have any real strategic effect under the circumstances of the time, the development of an intercontinental ballistic delivery platform was necessary to consolidate the Synkom's status as a superpower emergent. Refusal by any ideological power bloc of the time to share their developments led to the project starting off with practically no workable materials other than basic outlines worked on by Srbican, Shetav and various Yugoslav scientific authorities, as well as papers of Chinese and Jinfangese scientists. The team for the development of the Yaojian-1 ('arrow of brightness') was formed in 1958 officially with Ding appointed as its head engineer.

Starting most physical components from scratch, Ding's team toiled endlessly in both physical and mental labor while also having to coordinate with manufacturing units assigned for the project. While the project was given heavy priority, progress was slow, and a workable delivery platform was only finished in 1963 which still did not meet range and load requirements. In 1966, the Yaojian-1 entered a decisive stage of completion with most requirements matched, and in 1968 the project was officially completed with the missile manufactured and equipped with the SIAF. It was also modified to be able to carry thermonuclear and thermobaric loads. Ding continued work on succeeding models of ICBMs all the way into the 1980s, and retired in 1988.

Believing firmly in placing first the ability for the Synkom's defence, Ding dedicated years to the design and construction of the Yaojian. In his own words, "If you do it, you dedicate all to it, all the effort to it. Only in two circumstances may you stop, either when it succeeds, or when you pass away."

LEPEHANTS RAMPAGE SRBICAN VILLAGE

Kamenograd, Srbica - The village of Belja in Nikolje State of Srbica became the site of a deadly rampage of lepehants on 2. September after a herd of lepehants attacked the village without apparent reason. 7 have been confirmed dead, along with 13 injured being treated at the nearest local hospital.

The rampage occurred during mid-day, when large amounts of lepehants gathered around the village and charged into it, ramming into houses and goring villagers that failed to take cover. Larger male elephants were observed to take the lead. The lepehants employed what zoologists in the area call 'sophisticated tactics', they initially caused widespread but mostly superficial damage to human houses with the intention of creating fear. As the villagers were armed with farming tools at best they could not defend themselves against the rampaging horde and many were injured or killed by charging angry lepehants. After this initial stage of intimidation, the lepehants, according to eyewitness accounts, entered the crop fields of the village, as well as communal orchards, and began consuming crops and fruit found. The lepehants were visibly agitated when an angry old man attacked one of them with his sickle, yelling 'jebem ti majku' and other insults at the animals, before being trampled over by larger males.

Following this the lepehants renewed their attacks on the villagers and the village, causing severe damage to one house which collapsed hours after the event. Local police had arrived and had fired tranquilizer darts at the lepehants, but this achieved next to no effect. Policemen were also attacked and injured by the lepehants. Fragile structures such as greenhouse frames were easily destroyed with their supporters uprooted by the lepehants using their trunks. Eventually the police was able to control the situation, establishing a perimeter defended by regrouped units while evacuated villagers were safely relocated behind. The lepehants eventually grew tired and left the village with destruction in their wake, following which the homes were reoccupied by their occupants. Medical patrols nearby had already rushed to the scene treating injured and wounded. 7 were killed, and 13 were injured to the extent of hospitalization.

Zoologist Danica Zelenović says that the lepehant rampage may have been caused by their consumption of berries in the area which have been known to cause intoxication and other effects, particularly the ludmaline, which has often been confused with the Travonian blueberry by wildlife and humans alike. August and September is the traditional fruiting season of the ludmaline which is especially prominent in eastern Travonia. Public security has advised villagers to 'be cautious and alert of surrounding occurrences and contact authorities immediately upon such incursions'.

The lepehant is a medium-to-small sized (relative to its relatives) proboscid that is native to Chevorzeb and is currently spread out in southern Nadavia, where the temperate-to-warm climate suits their species. Believed to be a relative or descendant of the extinct mastodon, lepehants have been both tamed and hunted in ancient times. While their numbers have decreased due to human development in the last century, their conservation status is generally allowing for optimism and are not under serious threats. Lepehant tusks are fragile and unpreservable shortly after removal from a lepehant (or after death), and their meat is considered to 'taste worse than pandas', reducing greatly their value as a target of poaching. The average adult male lepehant is 2 to 2.3 meters tall while the adult female 1.7 to 2 meters.

TRESKAVICA, TROPOLJE - The joint government of the region of Tropolje and Sutjeska, a confusing 'simultaneous constituent' of the federal systems of both Khrovatska and Srbica, has announced that a 'public referendum' for all citizens living in the area defined as legal constituents of the state will be held in November of this year to determine the state's political and legal future. The referendum will be legally binding and both governments of Khrovatska and Srbica have promised and assured the implementation of procedures according to the outcome of the plebiscite, according to spokespersons of governmental bodies in the news conference where the decision was announced.

Representatives for the governments of Khrovatska, Khrovatskan Tropolje, Srbica and Srbican Tropolje announced the decision at a news conference on 14 October, saying that, after negotiations and deliberations between the four governments concerned, they have agreed to allow for a public referendum for the citizens of Tropolje to determine the future of their region by 'open, transparent, popular vote' which will be assured of the results' implementation as according to popular will. "It has been nearly two decades of this awful 'simultaneous constituent' thing. We in Zabregom don't like it, the people of Tropolje-Sutjeska don't like it, and Uzvodnin doesn't like it either. So instead of an arbitrary decision we will change for asking the people of the region for once, to let them determine their own future. This entire thing [status created by October Agreement] is absurd and shouldn't even be something in our great Combine to begin with, it is time to end this with decisive exercise of popular will," says the Khrovat government's spokesperson. The other governments have expressed similar sentiments, believing the state created by the October Agreement to be a 'bureaucratic atrocity'. "It benefited no one," said the Srbican spokesperson.

Tropoljak nationalists have expressed positive sentiments towards the decision. "It is time for us to take this into our people's own hands," said Party of National Action (Stranke Nacionalne Akcije) spokesperson Izet Zlatanić. Tropoljean and Tropoljak nationalists are believed to place great hope in the referendum re-enabling Tropoljak independence as a sovereign state. It has been admitted part of the decision was out of pressure from repeated demonstrations of Tropoljeans recently calling for a 'democratic plebiscite' on the status of Tropolje, and with this many public political gatherings and rallies have transformed into celebrations as Tropoljeans vest hope in regaining independence.

Concerns over the plebiscite have been expressed by other groups, in particular Tropoljean Serbs and Khrovats. Several groups are concerned that the referendum could be used to the Tropoljak people's advantage, creating a 'Tropoljak ethnostate' at the expense of the welfare of the other peoples living in the area. Others are concerned that the voter base could become radically factionalized and some even fear a 'second Tropoljean war' over the referendum.

Following the defeat of the Tropoljean state in the Tropoljean war of the 1990s, the 1998 October Agreement, which ended the war, agreed upon Tropolje becoming a 'simultaneous constituent', essentially partition, in which, while existing as a recognized nation and region, the state was split and administered by two countries, Khrovatska and Srbica, respectively, under their own regional federal governments. This system has received widespread criticism and over the years many attempts were made to redetermine status of Tropoljean sovereignty.

SIAF-INC NAVAL EXERCISE BEGINS IN SOUTH CONSILIAN SEA

NYSFORD, CONSILIA - The Integrated Naval Command of the Synkomese Integrated Armed Forces has held an exercise in the South Consilian Sea, training 'awareness and readiness'. The exercise will last 10 days, and involves 20 vessels large and small from the INC. Multiple forms and drills of naval combat will be simulated, including submarine warfare and long-range surface engagements, as well as 'mass carrier hunts' involving mobile, fast attack units showing off against carrier battle groups. The exercise has officially begun on October 27.

The exercise was announced three days before on October 24 to the public, when a INC spokesperson at a news conference provided reporters with general information of the exercise, including the location and approximate size of contingent involved. Announcements involving such an exercise were also posted on SIAF and INC official websites, as well as websites of tourist agencies of Consilia and regional government pages. The details and specific drills were not disclosed until the 27th when the exercise started, during which simultaneously with the start of the drill naval officers responded to reporter questions, confirming, denying or dismissing inquiries and guesses as well as making clarifications.

Taking place in the South Consilian Sea 15 km from shore, the drill is mainly focused on open-water combat between surface and subsurface vessels, with the arrangement of opposing teams and contingents speculated to be simulated navies of 'great powers' the Synkom may face off in the near future. 20 vessels are involved in the exercise, an impressive count, including 7 destroyers, 5 frigates, 1 aircraft carrier, 2 amphibious assault ships, 1 supply ship and 4 attack submarines. Notable vessel types involved include the SynRM-11 guided missile destroyer, the Zaporozhian-class aircraft carrier, the SynFM-27 stealth frigate and the Vardar-class fast attack submarine. The contingent will run through trial runs and simulated missions which will test and sharpen the INC's various factors and qualities that will enable their success in actual combat. Simulated missions include long-range surface combat, anti-submarine warfare, 'carrier group hunting' and amphibious assault/landing breakthroughs, though this is said to not be the full list. Experimentation with tactics, strategies, theories and testing of weapons, sensors and vessel performance will take place during the great exercise.

Analysts have raised hypotheses and questions concerning the identity of the opposing force in this drill. To this, spokespersons claimed that the opposing force 'was not any particular state', though from observations so far, according to analysts, the OPFOR has organized and operated based on a syncretism of Victorialan and Kustburger naval doctrines, leading to hypotheses that this exercise simulates combat against superstates expansive in power. The SIAF has denied claims of any particular state being the simulated opposing force, stating that 'it is only a trial of combat against navies of regionally, or globally, considerably influential powers'.

WUHAN, HUBEI - Tang Yipu, an aspiring presidential candidate campaigning as nominee of the nationalist-camp of China-UFR's choice for the upcoming elections in February, has announced recently at a campaign rally in Wuhan that he will 'reassert Chinese sovereignty over the South China Sea islands', which he insists are 'being illegally and silently exploited by neighbouring countries' without 'consent of the Chinese people'.

Tang, at the rally, spoke to his supporters and other attendees on his stances on various issues concerning China-UFR's interests relevant at the moment, many of which concerned relations with other neighbouring countries, as well as status of association with the Syncretic Combine and as signatory of the Cvecagrad Accords. His highlights on the topic were his views and statements on the issue of the South China Sea/Nanhai islands, on which he claimed the legitimacy of the Nine Dash Line, the constitutional claim laid to the islands since China-UFR's founding and even before, but whose pursuit and realization of full sovereign control has since been pushed aside in favor of cooperation with the Philippine UR due to the two states' association with the superstates of the Synkom and Victoriala, respectively. On this matter, Tang spoke, "We have opened to our neighbours, which is a good thing, we have furthered trade and ties with them, a good thing I will not and will never deny, but the problem is, we are selling our sovereignty for this, we allow them to occupy our islands and shoals, plant their flags on them, just so we can ship goods to their countries. It is not worth it, and will never be."

Tang's tone turned tough following this. "No one, not the founding fathers of our Republic, not the architects of the Federation, not anyone, will agree to trading our sovereignty, our claims backed by history, for simple, material gains, or appeasement of neighbours. No one. It's a real problem. Frankly, we are being silent, we are the victims, our vast wealth in that region being used by others, but I will change that, we will change that. I promise that I will make moves towards the reassertion of Chinese sovereignty over the Nanhai islands. By council...or by force, we will, get our islands back." Applause sounded from the audience, before Tang continued. "We will not sit by as our land, it is historically ours, our people sailed them before anyone laid claims to them, it's constitutionally ours - you can check maps and documents concerning our territories back from 1912, and it is, from a just point of view, ours, to be illegally, and silently, exploited by our neighbours. If that happens, we won't want these neighbours, because no one wants a neighbour that steals from you, that occupies what is yours. They do it, without consent of the Chinese people."

Tang Yipu's stances and platform on territorial disputes and diplomacy have since generated positive feedback from the nationalist camp of parties in China-UFR's political scene. Many nationalist and even conservative and republican camp voters are considering Tang as their candidate of choice. "We need someone like him, who can speak out, to do what everyone else has been silent all about," says an anonymous citizen. However, many, especially the 'old guard' of the nationalist and republican blocs, disapprove and are skeptical of this, believing that Tang is a "dangerous populist", and that he could be orienting the nation towards "irrational action". "The only real reason why Tang is supposedly in the lead is that he says what people want to hear. This is not right. The people need what is right. I hope everyone can form an informed opinion and consider again their choices for this man, who, frankly has nothing but recycled nationalist rhetoric." says Kuomintang spokesperson Hu Weiqin.

183 DEAD IN DEMONSTRATION-TURNED-VIOLENT IN TRESKAVICA
Unhealed wounds of the Tropoljean War torn open again just before November Plebiscite

TRESKAVICA, TROPOLJE - A mass demonstration by supporters of redetermination of the status of Tropolje-Sutjeska, including Tropoljak nationalists and supporters of the Party of National Action, turned deadly and violent after Serb and Khrovat counter-protestors attacked the demonstrators and had apparently made use of military-grade weapons. The Ministry of the Interior (MUP) was forced to mobilize main battle tanks to clear the Martyrs' Square in downtown Treskavica where the incident occurred, resulting in 183 dead and around 3,500 injured to extent of hospitalization. The incident, occurring a mere 4 days before the start of the Tropoljean Plebiscite scheduled this month on November 10th, has raised fears and concerns over the region's future even if the voting was to proceed.

In the afternoon of November 5, about 8,000 people rallied in the Martyrs' Square of central Treskavica in a rally and demonstration showing support for the redetermination of status of Tropoljean sovereignty in the upcoming region-wide plebiscite which will be legally effective. The crowd waved flags of Tropolje-Sutjeska (the golden rivers flag) and chanted nationalist slogans. However, at around 3:28 PM, a counter-rally of around 5,000 Serbs and 4,000 Khrovats gathered outside the square, countering the actions of the Tropoljean rally with broadcast of nationalist music and voice-wrestling of slogans and songs. In response, the slogans of those in the Tropoljean rally became directed towards the Serb and Khrovat groups in Tropolje with chants such as "Srbe na vrbe" sparking outrage from the Serb rally. Armed with various weapons, the Serb counter-rally attacked the Tropoljean gathering, which was countered with equally vicious force, joined by Khrovats.

While the majority of the armed protestors and demonstrators were equipped with mere bricks, sticks and fists, organized teams and squads of firearm-wielding 'executioners', as they were called in Chevorzebian protest culture, emerged from both sides, most of which used legal semi-automatic, selective-fire rifles or pistols firing actual cartridges on opposing crowds. Some had tuned their weapons to automatic mode, exacerbating the conflict. The density of the crowd had somewhat reduced the effectiveness of firearms, along with the skill of their operators factoring in to the relatively benign state of the initial clash. However, the violence had soon turned the square into a bloodbath as demonstrators and counter-protestors striked at each other with whatever available, from knives to maces to the butts of their rifles. The police had attempted to intervene with no avail, and they were instead attacked by the protestors as their vehicles had to go through the crowd to arrive at the area. A detachment of 30 policemen and women were sent to the square to control the situation, but were attacked when they attempted to control protestors and 4 were killed and another 10 injured. Protestors had soon rolled out in vehicles, such as pickup trucks, on which they opened fire at each other while ramming through opposing protestors. The death toll reached 90 by 5:14 PM.

Despite intervention of armed and armoured police there were no signs of the clash dying down, and many members of law enforcement themselves found themselves in sticky situations sandwiched between frenzied, armed demonstrators. The repeated refusal of the people in the square to comply with demands of law enforcement had validated to the MUP that an armed solution had to be sought, and at 5:40 PM, armoured vehicles and reinforced gendarmerie were sent to 'completely pacify the situation', while death tolls continued to rise to 150 with increased brutalization of tactics. The MUP had attacked swiftly, arriving at 6:19 PM, using scatterguns to blast rubber bullets and water cannons to disperse protestors at frightening rates. However, to fully clear the area, military-grade munitions were used. It has been alleged that incendiary munitions were used to disperse protestors. By 6:51 PM it was announced that the incident had ended, with thousands of demonstrators rounded up and arrested or hospitalized. 183 were identified dead, 9 of which were members of law enforcement. The square was devastated from the aftermath of the incident.

The clash's ethnic nature has led to debate and discussion over the future of Tropolje even if it was able to redetermine its state of sovereignty as a fully independent state. Pan-Tropoljean Party's Masha Zindović said she was "heartbroken" over the incident, stating that it was "sad that such conflicts still arise nearly twenty years after the war's conclusion" and "could heavily hinder the future of Tropolje if not taken care of". Party of National Action spokesperson Izet Zlatanić, suffering from a half-burnt arm due to molotov cocktails thrown during the incident, said that "the fact that this incident was sparked not by us but by our opponents shows who truly wishes ill upon Tropoljeans", subtly directing the statement at pro-Serb and pro-Khrovat politicians. Others have criticized the MUP's heavy-handed measures in response of the incident, branding it as a "blatant case of unapologetic police brutality".

NIEUWSATS, HERTOGENLAND, GRENSTAAL - Protests and demonstrations have emerged in Hertogenland, a region consisting 2 provinces of Grenstaal (Ronver and Pelsland), calling for independence and secession of the region, with some demanding incorporation and 'reunification' with Walhonia. While mainly centred in Nieuwsats, the largest city of the region and provincial capital of Ronver, protests of different scales have occurred in other cities and towns of Hertogenland.

The protests started on the night of November 7, when around 200 ethnic Walhonians gathered at a road junction in Nieuwsats, calling for independence and secession from Grenstaal. Among the gatherers were Julian Freriks, leader of the controversial National Movement, a separatist and secessionist Hertogenlander party. Julian made a speech on a platform made of sandbags, claiming that the Grenstaalian government has continuously refused to regard rights and wellbeing of minority peoples in the country, 'oppressing' the Walhonian majority in Hertogenland and refusing to listen to their voices. Freriks sparked excitement in the crowd with his speech, with many chanting slogans such as "Hertogenland is Walhonia" and "Freedom to Hertogenland". The following morning, an even larger gathering assembled at the same road junction, with some 2,000 attending. Police attempted to disperse protestors but with no avail.

Accusations of the supposed oppressiveness of the Grenstaalian government were made by Freriks and other speakers, and on many occasions they pointed directly towards onlooking squads of police, inciting anti-government sentiment. This was followed by demands chanted and shouted loudly that Hertogenland should become independent or be annexed by Walhonia. Flags of both Walhonia and a proposed 'Free Hertogenland' were waved while protestors sang traditional Hertogenlander songs in celebration of their identity. The rally refused to disperse until 5:10 PM when police enforced the breakdown of the rally, which resulted in harsh response from the demonstrators and the arrest of some 10 protesting students and workers and injury of 8 individuals.

Similar rallies had also been organized in other cities of Hertogenland on the same day. In Ronstad, Steen and Klifsjen, rallies of similar content and message were held with a total of 1,800 attending protestors. Via social media the National Movement and other Walhonian nationalist parties broadcasted their message demanding a free or Walhonian Hertogenland with hashtags such as #HertogenlandIsWalhonia.

Hertogenland is a region encompassing two provinces of Grenstaal, located northwest of the country. It has a ethnic Walhonian majority in the population of around 73% or 1.8 million out of 2.47 million inhabitants of Hertogenland and 13.72 million Grenstaalians. Since the 1970s a movement to establish a free or Walhonian Hertogenland, aimed at championing interests of the Walhonian people in the region, has campaigned enthusiastically.

BIRKEBURG, NORDMARK - The People's Republic of Nordmark has held a national military parade as well as a massive open-air concert as part of its nationwide celebrations of the Nordmarkish nation's 800th National Foundation Day, on the 8th of November, when, it was held, that the Nordmarkish nation was founded by proclamation by St. Hernius in 1216.

A military parade was held in the morning from 9 to 12 AM, on the Avenue of the Nation in Birkeburg, lasting for 3 hours. The parade involved 10,000 Nordmarkish soldiers from the Nordmarkish National Armed Forces, as well as 1,000 invited foreign contingents from numerous states. The display of multiple new military equipment was a major highlight of the parade, with highly anticipated systems such as the VKL Type 16 surface-to-air missile system and the SP-18 universal combat platform making their much-awaited debuts on the Avenue of the Nation. The Type 31 multi-role fighter and the Type 33 stealth air-superiority fighter also soared for the first time in the skies of Birkeburg. Following the parade, a speech was given by the Generalissimus and President of Nordmark, Erskil Sæther, commenting on the 'long path of struggle' the Nordmarkish people have gone through in the centuries following its foundation. Sæther spoke wishing for a 'brighter future for both Nordmark and the world' in the face of a 'time of troubles and crises'.

On the same day evening, an open-air concert and art performance was conducted on the shallow waters of the artificial lake at the Soldiers' Park, where performers selected from the most talented of Nordmarkish choirs, groups and bands performed on top of raised platforms, sometimes even going as far as performing directly on top of the water for certain opera performances. The concert exercised and showcased to the world the rich cultural heritage of the Nordmarkish people, with many popular, traditional performances such as songs and opera being interpreted in new ways at the 'concert on water'. The concert was rather well-received by spectators both at the site and viewing the event through the internet.

Besides these two major highlight events, the entire Nordmarkish nation is also in celebration of an anniversary of their nation's founding. City-residents have taken it to the streets, demonstrating their fervent love for their nation on its 800th birthday in 'patriotic rallies' where citizens wielding and holding patriotic symbols and slogan-banners marched through streets and celebrated the day with song and drink. Theatres have shown films made about important events in Nordmarkish history with tickets free of charge, and numerous other events celebrating the day are being held throughout the nation. At the Grand Square in central Birkeburg, citizens cut up and devoured a massive birthday cake for the country as the prosperity of their nation stands for another day.

TRESKAVICA, TROPOLJE-SUTJESKA - The Referendum for the Redetermination of the Political Status of Tropolje-Sutjeska has commenced on November the 10th, as planned. Despite numerous cases and incidents of deadly violence occurring prior to the planned date, the procedure was able to take place as planned without any delay or disturbance. Millions have lined up at local voting stations, casting their say in the region's future.

Voting stations, after last preparations made, opened their doors to already long lines of voters at 7 AM in the morning, after which, supervised by Ministry of the Interior gendarmerie, voters proceeded orderly to obtain their ballots, fill in information and check their ideal option. Voting stations were set up in major cities, and many from the rural areas have lined up for truck and bus rides to cities to cast their votes, not minding the distance.

Options included on the ballot included: 1) A completely independent Tropoljean state encompassing the entire area outlined by the borders defined in the October Agreement of 1998, with Synkomese membership but no Founder status, 2) Division of Tropolje based on ethnic boundaries and establishment of an independent Tropoljak state where a Tropoljak majority exists as well as incorporation of ethnic Khrovat and Serb-majority regions into their respective states [of Khrovatska and Srbica], 3) Division of Tropolje between Khrovatska and Srbica and incorporation of regions based on division, 4) current system of simultaneous constituent retained, and 5) abstain/abandoning vote.

So far, no incidents of violent nature have occurred, save for when a 40-year old man tripped when entering a station in Sogor. Votes will be transported and counted, following which the option with the most votes will be adopted and approved for immediate implementation as a plan to 'finally properly sort out the region', as stated by a spokesperson of the Tropoljean regional government.

SCIABEL, ADULIA - The Sciabel 02 Scientific Research Particle Collider, simply known as Sciabel 02, a large, powerful particle collider has entered full operation as of 11:00 PM, November 8, 2016. The initiation of operations in the collider was announced in an Adulian Physics Research Organization (APRO) news conference, which was organized 1 hour following the first research operations conducted in Sciabel 02. The APRO has announced its "high anticipations of research results" based upon the significant advancements in technology made in Sciabel 02 compared to Sciabel 01, operational since 1998.

Following construction of various parts which began in 2007, the Sciabel 02 was completed in October 2016, but received heavy doubts from the outside world due to Adulia's history of 'promised, but nil-achieving' ambitious projects, including one programme to develop an artificial intelligence capable of algorithmic national economic administration. Both APRO and the Adulian state were persistent in dispelling doubts about Sciabel 02, claiming 'it will truly achieve things', as said in a press conference earlier late October.

The Sciabel 02 SRPC is a much-different collider design from that of the Sciabel 01, APRO claims. While still a hadron collider, multiple improvements in components have been made allowing for the Sciabel 02 to perform a wider range of experiments and obtain more accurate data, such as an improved storage ring design, more potent cooling and accelerating units as well as a powerful computing grid. The synchrotrons of the accelerating component can accelerate particles up to 520 GeV, a significant stride compared to Sciabel 01's 420 GeV. The collider tunnel has been constructed to strict standards, and the collider component uses over 11,000 superconducting magnets to maximum efficiency and security. Like Sciabel 01, Sciabel 02's concrete-lined collider tunnel is rather large, with a circumference of 30 kilometers at a depth of about 52 to 180 meters underground. Work of the tunnel began in 2008, with the use of advanced 'shovelmech' high-power screw-propelled vehicles crucial to the project. The facility uses a network of 350 computers to form a powerful computing grid capable of analysing gathered data to extreme detail.

While protons were fired around the collider as part of final tests in October, the operation in the midnight of November 8 was the first use of the collider to truly gather scientific data for analysis. Proton beams were fired colliding at speeds Sciabel 01 was incapable of reaching in an ambitious attempt at truly verifying the new project's capabilities. While full results have not yet been released, it was assured to public by APRO in the press conference that 'the experiment is going all and well' and data will be released soon as a 'testament to Adulia's real scientific might'.

Tang Yipu, the ambitious and controversial presidential candidate

SHANGHAI, CHINA-UFR - Only a week after his controversial remark of 'reasserting Chinese sovereignty over the Nanhai islands [islands and shoals of the South China Sea]', Tang Yipu, a nationalist, populist UFR-Chinese presidential candidate, has made yet another debated remark in a speech in Shanghai on young Chinese leaving the country for opportunities overseas and abroad, claiming that 'it is a disaster' and that 'China is losing much-needed intellectual manpower [brain drain]' due to the immigration of these young people.

At a campaign speech in Pudong, Shanghai, Tang addressed the issue of immigration, both into and out of China-UFR. While stating that he was 'fine with foreign immigrants' so long they 'blend into local ways of life', Tang's highlight was on immigration out of China-UFR, especially 'intellectual immigration' of young Chinese to countries such as the United States in pursuit of education or material conditions. Tang was denunciative on this type of immigration, believing that citizens who have immigrated 'could have used their intellect to make their own country better' instead. Tang went further and stated that young people leaving the country as a whole is 'a disaster', claiming that it is a significant brain drain on the country.

"It's disappointing," Tang said, "Our country has the conditions for our young people to exercise their merits, this isn't the 1950s. Without even trying they look to other countries, taking that cunningness they had to pass the tests with them. It's a disaster."

Tang did not state specifically what could be done or what would be done under him to remedy the problem, however, he did encourage Chinese immigrants in the U.S. to 'look back' and consider the 'great potential of their own nation'. Tang had also clarified he did not mean any ill will towards the countries that were destinations of Chinese young immigrants either, merely expressing concern over China-UFR's own losses of talent.

The statement has received mixed reception, following Tang's numerous other remarks and comments. Overseas Chinese have condemned the statement, accusing Tang of 'misinterpreting the grounds for their immigration'. One Chinese-American in particular said that he did not "immigrate purely for better material conditions" and that "I had my homeland in my heart every moment". In addition to this, many critics of Tang in both leftist and rightist camps and circles of China-UFR have compared the remark with Kong Dingdong, a nationalist academic, of that "emigration is treason". Supporters of Tang reinforced the candidate's point, claiming that Tang believes in 'preserving the country's intellectual resources' and is a 'true believer of the country'.

Tang is however not the only controversial politician in the 2017 election list however. Former Yunnan police chief Du Tede has been attracting flak from liberal circles after claiming that 'critics of the country should be shot' on a conversation recorded dating back to 2010, while socialist Li Chudan has been accused of being a 'Maoist' in regards to his revolutionary proposed tenets on the economy (supposedly reversing all changes made since Zhao Ziyang's presidency). "It is certainly an interesting year," says a political analyst, in regards to the current activity in the politics circles. The 2017 China-UFR general elections will take place in February, with the first votes casted on February 12, the date the Republic of China was proclaimed following the Xinhai Revolution.

SUTAV, BERDELUR - General Laraz Uriar of the Berdelurian Imperial Armed Forces Ground Force was, at a discussion in a war room, killed by an assassin of the True Manzhaloryans terrorist group in the night of Nov. 14, using a sniper rifle, as announced by a news conference opened by Berdelurian state media hours after the incident.

The assailant, apparently a male individual clad in black apparel wielding a OSV-96 sniper rifle, had shot Gen. Uriar while he was attending a discussion and meeting in a war room, from a vantage point - the top floor of a watchtower located about 750 metres away from the location of Gen. Uriar. The assassin had apparently arrived at the point unnoticed by guards, and, after killing Gen. Uriar, fled after packing his weapon. Alerted, security in the military base searched the assassin, and a firefight broke out at the entrance to the watchtower where the assassin was injured and arrested, with 2 guards injured and hospitalized in the fighting and another 3 guards lightly wounded.

The 12.7×108mm cartridge used by the OSV-96 wielded by the sniper had penetrated the cranium of Gen. Uriar, killing him instantly. The round was able to penetrate even the protective glass windows of the war room before it had claimed the life of the General. "He fell on the ground so suddenly at the same time the glass shattered," an officer present at the site told reporters, "a gaping hole was on the right side of his head, blood coming out. The bullet went through him, coming out bloodstained, metres away, on the carpet."

Gen. Uriar's family and close friends were shocked at the event. "We didn't expect him to just get hit," Mayin Uriar, the general's sister, said. Berdelurian authorities have expressed condolences to Gen. Uriar's family.

Shortly after the incident's publicization, the terrorist group, True Manzhaloryans, has announced and admitted responsibility for the attack. "This is a message to the Berdelurian government," the Manzhaloryan spokesperson said, "for disregarding and mocking our group's strength. Let it be known that the True Manzhaloryans can touch and permeate through all. This is a pronunciation of our power, and there is time left to be forgiven however, at which the conditions are allowing us, the Manzhaloryans, to take control of the realm of Berdelur." In response, the Berdelurian government has issued an condemnation on the group, also mocking it for using 'cowardly methods'.

The attack was part of a series of acts by True Manzhaloryans this year, targeting prominent figures of governments and militaries, in particular the latter, as part of their typical attack routine. True Manzhaloryans is a violent non-state actor and terrorist group classified by many Synkomese member states with a claimed membership 'of millions' supposedly spread across numerous states. Its agenda, highly bizarre, is to take control of states and place them under the rule of the Manzhaloryans, an apparently loosely defined society of military and intellectual elites. The True Manzhaloryans are a major security threat to many Synkomese member-states, targeting prominent government officials on numerous occasions in their typical assassinations.

Nohenel, Adulia - Around 1,500 hospital staff and patients of Nohenel 3rd General Hospital have begun a barricade of their facility on November 21st, forbidding any entry or exit to or from the hospital with exceptions made for reporters and patient family members, following the dispersal of a protest rally by security held against the Adulian government on Nov 21. Police and security of the city have surrounded the city and are attempting breakthrough, but encounter heavy resistance.

Following the dispersal of a demonstration on November 21st just outside the hospital made by patients and medical staff, particularly those suffering from radiation-induced illnesses as well as cancer, against the Adulian government, by security of the hospital and police units, members of the hospital's medical staff as well as patients have organized a barricade of the hospital in response. Security inside the building were forcibly expelled and were also wounded in fighting with patients and doctors. Following this, numerous patients and staff gathered at entrances of the hospital, building rudimentary barricades of tables, desks, unused beds and other material, while denying outsiders entry to the building. An exception for patients' visitors and reporters was announced on 1:20 PM that day, however. Police have attempted numerous breakthroughs at all gates and entrances after deeming the demonstration 'illegal' and 'abuse of public resources', however their attacks were repelled even with numerous injured protestors.

When interviewed on the motive for their protest, patients said that they were demonstrating against the Adulian government, which has dispersed massive quantities of thorium and other radioactive substances extracted from the thorium-rich soil in the northwest of Adulia across the nation in sufficient quantities to 'cause trees to glow' (a prime intention of the operation) after absorption in the 1970s and 80s. 70% of the country's area has been rendered uninhabitable as a result. The patients, who suffered from cancer and other syndromes induced by exposure to radiation, demanded that the Adulian government apologize for the suffering they are undergoing. Some even accused the government staging the operation as a method of genetic quality control upon the lower classes of the country.

"Many know Adulia only as the holy land of information technology and robotics, little do they know sixty percent of our people suffer from a massive act of tomfoolery by our reckless government that only wants to create artificial wonders for the world to marvel at and care nothing about our livelihoods. We are demonstrating to show the world exactly that," Makrus Gheinar, a 58 year-old former worker from the northwest now suffering from cancer, spoke to a reporter.

Protests by victims of the Adulian "Glowing Trees" programme have become frequent over the last few years. The barricading incident in the 3rd General Hospital was not the first of its kind, as a similar incident happened in 2011 in Sciabel, which was broken down when protestors agreed to compromise after a week of confrontation. At the time of writing, the barricade-protest is still ongoing.

Zhongchang, Yinchuan - The government and Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Yinchuan has announced that the Yinchuanese National Army will officially adopt the Type 33 main battle tank of Guiluo, a Synkomese member state, as an upgrade to its armoured columns. The Ministry of National Defence has announced an order for at least 200 of the tanks has been placed and will enter service before 2019.

Over the last three years, Yinchuan has continuously tested and reviewed the suitability of multiple tank designs, including the Type 33. The Rodoljub main battle tank in service with the SIAF, submitted by ODKON, was rejected on grounds that it did not suit the conditions, both physical and economical, of Yinchuan, as well as practical needs of its armed forces. After final trials and budgetary discussion this year, the Yinchuanese government had decided to adopt the Type 33, a tank of Gui design and used by multiple members of the tvrdjavist bloc.

The Yinchuanese defence ministry spokesperson stated that "after trials, we deemed the Type 33, a submission from the State of Guiluo, the ultimately appropriate and suitable tank that our armed forces needs. Its performance in the trials were outstanding, and its specifications all fitted into what we searched for, in addition to this its cost was far more manageable compared to similarly performing submissions and competitors." The spokesperson of the Gui People's Defence Compound stated that it was 'an honor' that a Gui design was now adopted by another state in defence of their people. The spokesperson also affirmed the stated promised contract of delivery of 200 Type 33 tanks to Yinchuan.

The Type 33 was a third generation-advanced main battle tank that was developed by Guiluo from 1993 to 2002, and entered service in 2005. Its opposed piston engine makes it a fast tank, giving it an advantage of speed on the battlefield, while its default 125mm main gun provides effective firepower. It is modular, allowing for simple, easy exchange of weapons and other systems as well as modification to enhance its flexibility as a vehicle. About 1,200 were in active service of the Gui Armed Forces in 2014, and another 800 were being used by other tvrdjavist states.

Palaatwa, Myitwar - The Myitwari Tatmadaw has conducted a medium-scaled military exercise on the Myitwari-Jambudan border, starting on December 9, and will end on December 14.

The exercise takes place in the region of Myitwar, bordering the Albyienic Raj, also known as Jambud. The site for the exercise comprised an area 56 km², featuring rugged hills and open plains alike. Jungles and grasslands were both present in the area, and an abandoned town located in the eastern part of the exercise area is to be used to simulate urban combat. Rivercrossing is also to be drilled with a section of the Myitpyainn that flows through the exercise region. Villagers who live near the site have been evacuated or instructed not to approach the exercise zone during its timespan.

The exercise is live-fire, and a total of 10,000 ground troops have been confirmed to take part in it, although statistics are likely unreliable and it is possible the actual number is higher. Around one hundred tanks, hundreds of armoured vehicles and 20 aircraft are also deployed in the exercise. A total of 120 artillery units, including self-propelled guns, MLRS, and missile launchers, also take part, providing the artillery component of the drill. The troops are divided into BLUFOR and OPFOR, and the goal for BLUFOR is to cross the Myitpyainn river section and seize the town in combined arms warfare in difficult terrain, while facing enemy artillery and air support.

At a press conference the Tatmadaw declared and affirmed the exercise's factuality, and its spokespersons also denied that the exercise had hostile intentions towards the Albyienic Raj. "We merely chose the location because it most closely simulated what we would fight in," said the spokesperson. The Ministry of National Defence also claimed that the nature of the OPFOR in the exercise, while significantly better equipped than ethnic insurgents which are the Tatmadaw's major opponents and more resembled a conventional, regular army, did not intend for it to represent any particular nation, and said that the exercise was only 'to train Myitwari readiness in conventional war'.

Centralium - The Centraline Ministry of Public Security and the Centraline Carabiniers have issued statements at press conferences and on social media, publishing the operations undertaken to arrest a Consilian tourist that was apparently charged with espionage and conspiracy against the Centraline state.

The Ministry of Public Security officially issued statements, stating that a Consilian tourist was wanted on charges of espionage and conspiracy, and was to be arrested immediately. Efforts to arrest the tourist were also disclosed. However, according to both the Ministry and the tourist's own social media posts (the reasoning behind posting is unclear despite that it would obviously disclose their own location), the wanted in question has entered and is hiding in the mountains of Quattuoria Province. No information can be obtained on how the tourist arrived in Quattuoria since their last location in Pacia, Centralium.

According to the tourist's own information, they have already had several confrontations and encounters with Centraline law enforcement, and was able to successfully overcome the authorities miraculously. Centraline Carabinier and Civil Constabulary units have deployed special task forces in the region where the tourist is located, and are increasing air presence in the area. A live footage of the Centraline search is also accessible on the web.

In speedy reaction to the incident, many doubt the factuality of the espionage claims that were made by Centraline authorities, on grounds that it was suspiciously similar to a similar incident in 2012 when a tourist, Frank Nourison, also from Consilia, was arrested on espionage charges and then released when proven innocent after five months. Analysts suspect that Centralium may be 'toying' with the Synkom through these incidents, though what Septentrionale exactly wants to achieve is unclear.

Sablayan, Tilang - The Tilangese government confirmed the deaths of 104 'seditious leftist rebels' in a large firefight in Dumalan Province, in addition to the deaths of 3 government troops and 9 local militiamen, which was commended as a 'great page in our nation's cleansing of unwanted, traitorous, terrorists'. The firefight was between the Armed Forces of the Tilangese Democratic Republic, local self-defence volunteer militias, citizen volunteer paramilitaries and Civil Constabulary armed police units, against insurgents of the Tilangese Proletarian Liberation Army.

Tilangese government troops have already been tracking down TPLA activity in Dumalan province in the past few months, and were constantly looking for opportunities to launch a decisive offensive in which the TPLA's forces will be heavily crippled, as it has already diminished in strength this year from a relentless COIN programme on behalf of President Pavia. A sizeable TPLA detachment was located within the Rafael Mountains which was verified by the State Security Agency of Tilang, and with communications coordination, government forces, militias and paramilitaries gathered to attack the rebels. The attack occurred on the afternoon of December 17.

The offensive was first opened with the various local militias, acting as light infantry, took out garrisons and patrols of the rebels, while government troops jammed their communications frequencies. However, this alerted the rebels, who then gave up preparing for supper and mobilized to confront the militiamen. The AFTDR units then attacked their encampments and major echelons. With superior training, equipment and organization, the AFTDR, militia and later volunteer paramilitaries were able to disperse the rebels and break them up into smaller units where they were eventually defeated. Centralium-built artillery and armoured vehicles were used by the AFTDR to effectiveness. 104 TPLA fighters were killed, 73 were captured while only around 30 escaped. The government suffered only 3 soldiers dead and 9 militiamen dead, while an additional 30 men were injured. The fight continued to midnight, lasting for hours.

President Pavia commended the work of the AFTDR and the paramilitaries, especially the latter in showing their nature as an 'armed and awake' face of the Tilangese citizenry. He also added emphasizing that 'there must be no mercy' in dealing with threats to the Tilang nation such as the rebels and insurgents. The governments of Centralium, Aureonesia, Sham Wan and Pakhan commended Tilang in the operation's destruction of major security threats to their nation. It was also revealed to reporters that the dead TPLA insurgents' internal organs will be extracted, evaluated of condition, and those that are found to be healthy are to be stored at local hospitals for transplants. Many of Tilang's citizenry celebrated the operation on social media.

It's been a year. Regardless of what context or field we talk about, it's been quite one year. But that's what they all say when a new revolution cycle of the planet around the sun begins. The previous cycle sucked, people died, all that. Let's take a look back, shall we?

We started the year with Falkish eco-terrorists bombing a GMO research complex in Falksburg, in January 10. It was pretty mundane, to be honest, compared to what would happen next. In February, Chetovria and Oribelia both dealt with tragic, devastating hostage crises, where hundreds died at the hands of two antithetical banners, yet with blood spilt they had seemingly became not so much of nemeses as much as fellow practitioners in cold-blooded murder. And Synkom-affiliated Ukraine retook Donetsk, too. Our beloved director from Dragnia, Djordje Pantelić, just had to sadly perish in a plane crash in March, and let's not forget the people who died in a maniacal shooting at a Thanhese barracks at the end of that month.

After giving us murder, the year gave us war. The establishment of the UCI, OSAN and numerous other organizations in a short-lived 'new order' to the international stage surely returned flames to a mostly silent theatre. We saw the Vulkata-Colishian war, the consequential madness of imperialism which any of Pirić and Dragović would have protested fiercely, and then came flames in Takika as the aftershocks of a devastating earthquake set off a civil conflict that ravages the country to this very moment. Also, a Centraline research university came up with a cure for gender dysphoria which probably only Villenocte will protest. Our favourite Koreanic pariah state, Chosan (or was it Choson?) stirred quite the world incident with its War of Reunification, but as anyone will find out, they got themselves fucked pretty fast. And the Ahuriyans led an army into the place when it was all battered and killed some Fengs while their nation collapses. Asigna got hit by an earthquake and then gets besieged. Jesus why aren't they nuked yet? The Grajoyans went war-touring in the Congo but got tired after a while and left. None of these actually conclusively ended and we actually do not even know what goes on in these places today.

Summer ended. Now it's a series of inconclusive ends to events that leaves us hanging and wondering. More people died, which was assuredly tragic, amongst other things. Bill Gates won the election, at least. Tang Yipu is running for president, this GreenWar thing popped up (and it's probably another Nifonese false flag), a Berdelurian general got shot, and apparently something flew into space from northern Elprus just now. Another couple of wars and this Council of Nations thing seems to have popped up, who knows how long it will last? And what about OSAN returning after its queen-of-the-night-like brief appearance in summer? A lot of cliffhangers. We demand answers, and this year gave us none. What will the Mzhlor do next with their attacks? What happened to that tourist guy in Centralium? And as we enjoy our bourgeois decadence climate change marches forward silently.

In conclusion, not a very nice year, but not the worst. The bad part was that there were too much cliffhangers. Why did the events have to line up to start happening in the last four months of the year? There were exciting and interesting things, but they couldn't come to a round ending when we change the calendars. There were miseries. There were hardships. The hellfire of war rages on as usual. But it's not even the cliffhanger of the sort you'd really want to see what comes out next, because seriously who would look forward to learning how many died in a Homofront attack that faded from media in summer. You shiver in uncertainty, not knowing whether to step forward to learn what will really proceed, because it might just as well be the doom of us all. You're left with a pile of bodies and no idea of what comes next, and you don't want to know.

Damant, Hirscherland - Several Jewish organizations have protested what they deem to be an 'anti-semitic' court verdict concerning a brawl in which a Jewish youth was sentenced to two years imprisonment. The protests saw some 2,000 members of the Hirscher Jewish community attending, who held signs and waved banners featuring slogans that demanded 'justice' for the convicted youth.

The protests occurred following the announcement of a court verdict concerning a severe case of violence and disturbance of public order, which was an affray that occurred in eastern Damant on December 17th. In the incident, a group of youths attacked another group when leaders of the two groups entered a disagreement and confronted each other on the street. A total of 17 youths were involved, and 2 were killed, along with 11 injured to the extent of hospitalization. The leader of one of the groups, Matthieu Rubinstein, a 19 year old Hirscher Jew, supposedly 'incited the fight', and following a series of court proceedings Matthieu was sentenced to two years imprisonment for major disturbance of public order and the deaths that occurred in the fight. The sentence was announced at the final court session on January 2.

In response, the Hirscher Jewish community has organized protests opposing the verdict, which they believe to be 'anti-semitic' as it was Matthieu who received the most severe of punishments, while the other individuals involved were only sentenced to six months to one year of imprisonment. This has provoked significant Jewish identity awareness sentiment amongst the local Jewish community. "This is unacceptable," says one of the protestors, "the court is clearly trying to punish Jews. We demand full and real justice for Matthieu, and we will not stop until a Jew receives equal punishment to everyone else for the same crime." A speaker of a Jewish organization has also spoke on the matter, claiming that "the cloud of antisemitism has not yet dissipated from Hirscherland".

The Jewish community in Hirscherland has been subject to persecution since their arrival, and this has only grew stronger during the rule of the National Socialist Hirscher Workers' Party from 1924 to 1956, and the subsequent dominant-party police state under the National People's Action Party from 1956 to 2000. Despite the repealing of laws that discriminated against or disadvantaged Jews and other racial minorities following democratisation of Hirscherland, Jews in Hirscherland are still subject to discrimination and social exclusion. Many political groups have campaigned for complete equal status of Jews with other Hirschers, but the matter remains mostly unspoken of amongst mainstream political parties.

Ivanio, Rysano - 3 individuals have been killed and 8 injured to extent of hospitalization following a street shootout in Ivanio, Rysano, the third-largest city of the country. Police have suspected involvement of the restaurant chains Neapolitan Pizzeria and Papa Draza's respective paramilitaries.

The firefight occurred on the night of January 5, starting at around 10 PM, in the southwest area of the city. One band of armed individuals wielding rifles, pistols, shotguns and submachine guns were seen walking down the street, when they suddenly encountered another band of armed individuals. The two groups started fighting each other quickly, using weapons at their disposal to the fullest extent. The fight continued for 45 minutes, and both sides retreated after running out of ammunition as well as being alerted of the arrival of law enforcement.

Police have since arrested 4 members believed to be involved in the shootout, meanwhile 8 participants that were injured and could not retreat were arrested and hospitalized. The local law enforcement is still pursuing other suspected involved gunmen. From the site was salvaged several rifles and other weapons of multiple builds, designs and origin countries.

Authorities have claimed that they suspect the involvement of the paramilitaries of the restaurant chains, 'Neapolitan Pizzeria' and 'Papa Draza's' respectively, the two of which were behind several violent incidents of a similar nature in Rysano since 2008. However, they have also stated that further investigation is needed to produce any conclusions.

Chirograd, Razaria - The Razarian People's Ministry of National Integrity and Internal Security has announced its arrest of 'around four thousand' individuals on suspicions of 'treasonous conspiracies'. The campaign was a part of a 'purification program' initiated by the Razarian Tvrdjavate in response to the 'discovery of a large-scaled anti-national treasonous conspiracy' and would be the first step in 'rooting out unwanted infiltrators' in the Razarian National People's Government.

The information that would lead to conclusive determination of the arrested individuals' status were provided by informants as well as former members of the 'treasonous conspiracy' that have turned themselves in, who first reported to the People's Ministry of National Integrity and Internal Security on the existence of such a 'conspiratory ring', existing amongst civilian functionaries, military officers, teachers, intellectuals and other areas of Razarian society. This would lead to the Ministry investigating further into the matter, increasing attention to surveillance of the suspected individuals, recording phone-calls, conversations and electronic transmissions that fully affirmed the convictions held by the Tvrdjavate.

The Ministry would organize mass raids on locations of the suspected treasonous individuals and arrest them starting on January 11. In various National People's Universities across Razaria, Razarian National Armed Forces soldiers besieged campuses until the suspected teachers and intellectuals were arrested. There were long lines of the convicted as they were paraded through the streets following their arrest by Internal Security agents, volunteer law enforcement units, Young Guards of Razaria units, and RNAF troops. In total, the Ministry claims around 4,000 arrested.

The arrested may face charges of ideological deviation, misuse of government positions, abuse of national trust, abuse of privileges, and amongst others, high treason. The Ministry claims that at least one thousand of the arrested may be sentenced to death. Concerning the operation and campaign, Ministry spokesperson Ranko Melović said that the mass arrests were only the 'first step' in a great 'purification campaign' of the Razarian nation to strengthen 'internal integrity and solidarity' and to 'root out traitors, unwanted infiltrators and anti-national conspirators'. Melović said that the revelations were indeed shocking and it revealed how Internal Security needed to keep up with modernized methods of information transmission as well as tighten surveillance, which he said it was to reflect on. It was announced that an extensive program to upgrade Internal Security surveillance capabilities as well as to investigate for further associates of the conspiracy was to take place.

The Paramount Leader of Razaria Zlatko Trifunović commended the act, saying it was in the 'full spirit of defense of the Nation'. However, Trifunović also admitted to Razaria's internal security needing to keep up in certain aspects so as to prevent such incidents from happening again. Trifunović praised the Internal Security Ministry for their competent actions following uncovering of this 'dangerous plot'.

Nanjing, China-UFR - Presidential candidate for the upcoming 2017 China-UFR elections Tang Yipu has clarified and affirmed his tough stance on what he perceives to be 'separatists', particularly those with 'still-legitimate political standing and status'. Tang has promised investigations into what he calls 'major separatist leaders' and 'punish them rightfully'. This was announced at a rally of Tang's supporters which also functioned as a news conference for his policy platform.

Tang commented that there was a 'concerning amount' of 'secessionists and separatists' who wish to 'undermine Chinese territorial integrity and cultural identity' that are in various positions he claims to be 'advantageous' for their 'conspiracies'. While not pointing out any names, Tang spoke that there was a number of significant 'threats' located within the local governments of Tibet, Hong Kong, Outer Manchuria, Xinjiang and Taiwan. He believed that previous administrations were insufficient in their work in securing integrity of the national and local governments against these 'blatant threats' and has promised to 'pluck out' the separatist politicians, which he believes 'are most certainly coordinating with foreign entities who do wish upon us ill'.

Tang spoke that to preserve national integrity and to 'purge' the government of 'subversives' that upon his inauguration he will immediately launch extensive investigations into politicians, officials, functionaries and other individuals he believes to be part of the 'subversives' umbrella'. Tang has full confidence in his convictions and suspicions that these elements are indeed linked to foreign conspiracies seeking to dissolve and weaken the unity of China-UFR. He added, "it's not just the 'separatists'. Anyone who doesn't do their job right, who doesn't do their job the way the people need it, or those who blatantly enjoy at expense of the people will be investigated.", hinting at a continued anti-corruption campaign and an even more rigorous standard for civil servants.

Critics believe Tang is using the 'separatist' label to vilify and turn the populace against various parties that aim for greater devolution of powers within China-UFR. Speakers of political parties supporting greater regional and constituential autonomies say that Tang is a "threat to our principle of Federalism and Equality of Peoples alone". Notable Hong Kong nativist politician Yau Man-ching, controversial for her numerous occasions of 'insult upon the government of China-UFR', has also criticized Tang's proposed policies.

Tang is gaining greater support from the population of China-UFR, emerging as a latecomer to the global wave of populist nationalism. Factors in his growing support include distrust in the Accords's effectiveness in benefiting China-UFR, distrust in the Synkom's effectiveness as an ally, calls for greater 'self-strengthening' and 'self-reliance', as well as disapproval of the political establishment. Recently the Islamic Collectivist political party of China-UFR, the Crescent Front for Solidarity and Unity, has announced their endorsement of Tang Yipu, signalling at a possible 'join of forces' of anti-liberal political groups in China-UFR.

The path for the continued survival of the Synergistic Unity in the modern world

With an increasing number of challenges emerging as a consequence of various political events, movements and incidents, the Synergistic Unity is put to test yet again. Having endured over one century of trials presented by the World, not a single moment of rest was allowed for our brotherhood and unity which has only marched out from the cleared smokes of the battlefield to be greater, stronger and more powerful than ever before. There is no force that can stop us, there is no force that can blunt us, there is no force that can shatter what we have forged and built.

As worded by Sun Tzu, so long one knows oneself and their opponents thoroughly, they shall march through hundreds of battles victorious and undefeated. What are the new forces acting opposing us in this era? And how can we create solutions to their presence?

The threats to what we stand for underneath the rippling and fluttering of our Tricolor have indeed evolved with the changing of our opponents, and their tactics, as well as agenda. In the past, the Synkom as a whole faced other entities almost simply because these states were conducting occupation and oppression upon a nation, but these conflicts between the Synkom which sought only to champion the interests, independence and sovereignty of nations and peoples and these opposing entities were limited, singular in scope. The motives, ideological or interests, of both sides also followed relatively simple rhetoric back then. But following the failure of 'colonialism/imperialism by brute force', a new attempt at restoring colonialism and imperialism under the guise of 'globalism' emerges. Our enemy has learnt to coordinate amongst themselves.

The effort to create a one-world government, or in the very least a neo-imperialist organ that operates upon/is sustained by mechanisms and organisms ostensibly in service of such an ideal, has allowed anti-national, exploitation-interested entities to re-extend their tentacles to violate the freedom of sovereign and independent peoples, to destroy existing cultures and ways of life and replace them with blind, hedonistic consumerism. Globalization as it currently is practiced has indeed brought benefits, which is not subject to denial by us, but it has been subject to mispurpose and abuse by forces wishing to not 'unite the human race' but to open the gates to mass exploitation and dissolution of nations, a great barrier to their plans. The Synkom, a platform for free and sovereign nations to bind together and synergistically assist each other without any form of inequality or exploitation, is a great opponent to the globalist as well, not to mention synfederalism itself opposing such ideas.

Our enemy is now coordinated, they no longer fight under the light but rather attack in the dark. They attack from multiple faces, waging cultural warfare while dropping bombs on those who oppose their agenda, from all directions emerge their forces. And so the Synkom must react and evolve accordingly, fight at combat these forces on all platforms too, daring all to preserve the sovereignty and liberty of nations as the chetniks of Jovanović have done before.

There is however more than one enemy.

The second opponent is represented by Centraline imperialists and those of the so-called 'Actually Civilized World', and to an extent Fourinterns, who, ostensibly also preaching the freedom of nations, subtly implant their own set of moral principles and cultural values into others. They lack respect for the real Liberty of the Nation. They do not outright dissolve it, but they pervert it to how they like it. This nature of their activities makes them not only no friends of truly free peoples but enemies equally dangerous as the globalist-imperialist. They are selective in who they support, only those who conform to their set of values and criteria on what a 'culture' should be are deemed valid ones worthy of their support, following which they will completely transform it to a state of their own kind. They, like the globalists, attack from all directions, but more dangerously they masquerade as friends and allies.

The Synkom itself is formed from the synergistic unity of nations wishing nothing but mutual assistance and goodwill. It is formed so to agglomerate many nations into one strong spearhead uniting to achieve and fulfil collective interests, while retaining the ability to withdraw of an individual member-entity from this unity at any time to their free wishes. From the synergistic unity the Synkom derives the strength necessary to accomplish goals and meet interests, and thus this unity must be preserved. The Synkom is advantageous in this struggle in that it benefits and meets the demands of its associates and members, allowing its source of power and strength to remain stable. It is the toil and blood of many peoples struggling as one. Yet there are also problems that place the Synkom at less advantageous positions such as the decentralized nature of its administration which might make mustering of forces difficult.

The evaluation and rectification of our disadvantages, as well as learning how to make our advantages provide the most benefits to us in battle, is an utmost priority in the creation of our new strategy and doctrine. The Synkom will need to once again pick up the rifle of the fight for freedom and reply with strength and courage to the enemy with the words:

Bridge completed in Belosvec

A bridge over the Glata River in Belosvec has been completed after eight months of construction work. The bridge's completion has accelerated the completion of a road project that would make a new commercial transport route between the nations of Belosvec, Slanchev Bryag and Spodnia possible, as well as to provide new transport opportunities to other Puntilian states.

The bridge was built at a crossing near Kamanje, a local town, where the width of the river was 78 meters. The bridge's body was built of concrete reinforced with steel, and constructed as a through arch bridge. Over the course of its construction up to no more than 500 workers attended the work at any given time, which was made possible with highly mechanized and automated processes and technologies employed in the construction of the bridge. About 2,800 local residents attended the opening ceremony of the bridge which was held this morning.

The bridge is one of the major points in the new V36 highway that will connect a new route between the Puntilian states and the states in the north of Slanchev Bryag and Spodnia, opening up new commercial opportunities for local businesses for shipping, and new travel plans for local residents.

2017 China-UFR elections begin

The 2017 presidential elections of the United Federal Republic of China has begun today on the 105th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Republic of China. Up to 1 billion voters will be lining up at polling stations and before ballot machines in various cities in China-UFR for the following week to cast their say in China-UFR's democracy.

The candidates for presidency are clearly listed on information machines with information needed to know about them as well as their platforms available to voters at the tap of a finger on the touchscreen. In areas where electronic voting machines have been introduced, voters can directly cast their vote by a mere few taps and presses at the machine with guaranteed security and fraud-proof capability. However as the use of electronic ballot machines is still experimental and limited most areas still use a paper ballot and a ballot box.

Candidates for this year's presidential elections has been described by political analysts as 'interesting'. There has been many controversies over most well-known candidates, with debate over the nationalistic platform of Tang Yipu being the most prominent example.

Given considerations of the massive number of voters, the elections of China-UFR span up to a week. Following the end of this period voting stations will be closed and the ballots will be shipped and transported for counting. Results will be announced at the end of the month.

Ze arms companies merge

It has been recently announced in Zecheng, Great Ze, that two large arms companies in the country, Tieshu Defence Group and Kanjing Military Industry Group have merged to form Tieshu-Kanjing Combined Defence Group. Both companies had an annual revenue of over $350 billion or over $1 trillion Ze yuan, and were major producers of armaments in the country, with Tieshu focusing on missiles, rocketry and ballistics and Kanjing specializing in vehicle-building, launch platforms, small arms and munitions. The merger was agreed upon by the executives of both companies after negotiations for a year.

A spokesperson of Tieshu stated that the merger "was in the best of interests for both companies", providing both companies with new opportunities and the ability to cover each other's disadvantages through their own strength. "This will make our groups more consolidated and stronger," said the spokesperson.

There were also rumors of plans for a third company to be merged, which was Liandong Systems, which built computers, avionics, radars and sensors amongst other high-end defence products. The news conference on the merger did not comment on possible addition of Liandong to the new group.

The two merged groups have a total of 75 branches and subsidiary companies, specializing in various fields of armaments. Both have long histories in both Ze itself and its history of military industry, being some of the most prestigious military industry conglomerates in the country, producing a great share of the armory and arsenal of the Ze armed forces.

Cvetovigrad respondes to Kanteh government on 'being more compassionate and friendly'

The Syncretic Combine's Central Administration has responded to the government of the Federal Republic of Kanteh, which made a statement earlier this week urging the Synkom to be 'more compassionate and friendly' in diplomatic affairs. Administrator of External Affairs Zeljko Majakovsky personally delivered the Synkom's response at a news conference in Cvetovigrad where the Administration's building was located.

The government of Kanteh had made a public declaration on February 15 in which it called for the Syncretic Combine to 'take up the responsibility of a great power' and be
'more compassionate and friendly' in its outwards diplomatic approaches. The Kantehan president, Woma Shizhu, in particular said that the Synkom's 'cold, unresponsive attitude' towards events in the world where 'its presence might have been beneficial' is a characteristic that 'any great power should not have'.

As a response, at the news conference in Cvetovigrad today, Zeljko Majakovsky spoke:

"First, we need to clear up confusion on what the Synkom is, and isn't. The Synkom is a mutually cooperative synergy of states, and it's not a world policeman, despite what other nations with such a degree of strength usually do. We seek to make our member-states be able to stand as a single, powerful entity able to reason with others, with strength they on their own can not possess. We are not a superpower that is somehow inherently morally responsible to police the world, that is in fact against our ideological premises of national sovereignty. We are not obliged to be compassionate if it is not within our member-states' interests, nor the interests of others."

"We have came to the aid of nations when they needed it, when their sovereignty is threatened, here we intervene in methods we deem suitable to ensure their independence while not making them overly dependent on our presence thereafter. But we do not go around, 'being the good guy', throwing material aid senselessly and intervening in ways not necessary beneficial to the local situation. If your standards of compassion and friendliness comply with this definition, then we do not wish to be compassionate or friendly in your view, because it only means detriment to others."

After addressing enquiries from reporters, Majakovsky ended the news conference. A public diplomatic declaration was issued soon after stating the same message, by the Administration of External Affairs.

Fundamental incompatibility of Compagism and ACW with Natsov/Libnat

The Centralines have long advertised their ideology of Compagism and their international political doctrine of the 'Actually Civilized World' as one that upholds the sovereignty and liberty of a nation, yet with careful exploration of Compagist and ACW principles one can easily conclude that the Centraline way is incompatible with the ideas of national sovereignty and liberty of the nation; it is inherently selective in its support and endorsement, and does not truly value the interests of an individual nation.

Compagist foreign policy builds itself upon the principle that all other nations are to be treated as organisms in the same way the nation itself is regarded as one, and will advocate for any method to avoid being harmed by another organism, or 'ideologically infected' by this other national organism to preserve integrity of the people. This fundamentally forces the nation practicing this policy into a 'dog walled up' scenario, where it will be forced to attack others to preemptively eradicate these threats, eventually spiralling down a path of paranoia about 'hostile organisms' and even deeming certain organisms - entire nations that we speak of - worthy of complete destruction. The model proposed by Compagism sends nations down an insane path of imperialism, harming other nations in the process and violating their liberties merely to eliminate unestablished 'threats' to the liberties of one.

The Compagist principle of 'aiding others' against 'ideological infections' and 'hostile organisms', while seemingly simply advocating for altruism of the strong such that a mutually benefitting solution can be produced from this assistance, is no more than selective support and a blatant justification for subtle neo-imperialism. We do not need to speak much on this, for one can simply look at the nations of Myitwar, Aureonesia and various other Concordat and Fraternity Fasces members held hostage by the Centralines in their paranoia-driven, insane, endless quest for an 'actually civilized world' wholly under their own influence. A form of invasive 'aid' was established by Simo Licinius in his works on Compagist foreign policy and even indeed the Compagist manifesto, the Doctrine of Compagism, holding complete disregard for any form of national sovereignty so long the nation providing the 'aid' is free from communism, and whatever new bogeyman the Centralines design to sustain their order.

The ACW project is merely an extension of these excuses and justifications to form what is essentially a 'co-prosperity sphere', but, as what had happened when the Japanese had practiced it in the heptapeirons of China-UFR and many more, hegemony of one single power and its imperialist exploitation of other supposed 'members' is bound to be the true nature of such a project. The ACW is selective in what it deems to be civilized. Beyond communism and other relatively more plausible threats, it targets nations not in favor of Septentrionale, labels their culture as a 'degeneracy', a 'fabrication' despite any factual or historical evidence to the contrary and focuses on its destruction in favor of a culture that fits the ACW's morality and worldview. This, is blatant cultural imperialism, cultural genocide, hypocrisy of the highest degree. The ACW is not the only one practicing either; look at New Yama and their frenzied drive to wipe out anything 'Dorian'. No surprise talks between Septentrionale and Nosamo concerning the latter's possible entry to the Pallantium Concordat are underway, for men group with their own kind, truly.

It is about time Centralines stopped advertising their ideology as 'natsov-friendly' while in reality it is very much just another force of neo-imperialist forces rising up against independent and free nations, but with a mask, a disguise of friendliness. It is about time Septentrionale reviews its own hypocrisies when accusing others of various deeds and travesties, for their accusations ironically in reality apply to none but themselves.

Trenovian presidential candidate Andrej Dzajević was nearly killed in Lenjigrad, Trenovia when six gunmen appeared and opened fire on his car as he was being transported through the city. The assailants were defeated by Dzajević's bodyguards and local police, with 2 of the gunmen killed, 3 others injured and 1 missing, having escaped from the scene. Dzajević was hit on his right arm and in his abdomen and is being hospitalized, but is not in a critical condition. 2 were killed by the gunmen and 5 others injured and being treated for their injuries.

Dzajević was on his way to a local school to visit and speak with local pupils and teachers when the assassination attempt occurred. Surveillance camera footage from the road where the shootout took place shows that 2 of the gunmen emerged from a nearby alley, 2 others from a car parked by the road and another 2 from a second vehicle, a van. The gunmen immediately trained their automatic rifles on Dzajević's car, with two firing in full auto while the other four burst-fired targeting individuals inside the vehicle. The vehicle, while armoured, was not sufficiently so and the glass on one of the doors was compromised shortly. One of the gunmen approached the vehicle and smashed other glass panes with the butt of his gun, but before he could fire at the passengers, he was shot and injured by one of Dzajević's bodyguards who had emerged from a following vehicle.

A fierce shootout broke out as the bodyguards attempted to defend the vehicle from the assassins. Both accounts of the bodyguards as well as video footage indicate that the gunmen were of a degree of skill and training, likely military. In the crossfire Dzajević received an injury to his abdomen while one of his retinue was killed. A bodyguard was also killed in the fighting. The gunmen also took losses, with two being killed and another incapacitated before the police intervened. Civilians nearby fled and sought cover as soon as gunshots were heard. Fortunately none were killed or injured during the firefight.

A police cruiser patrolling nearby immediately drove to the road where the shootout was raging, and police officers immediately intervened. Two officers left their vehicle armed with submachine guns and pistols while the driver rammed the vehicle onto one of the assassins firing at Dzajević's vehicle, injuring him heavily and incapacitating him. The fifth gunman was hit in the leg and was incapacitated while the sixth, realizing that his team has been destroyed and compromised, fled quickly after firing at a surveillance camera, impeding attempts to investigate his whereabouts.

Ambulances and additional police vehicles arrived soon after, with medical personnel treating those who were injured and the incapacitated gunmen arrested. A total of 4 persons were killed, including two of the assassins, and 9 injured including 3 assassins and Dzajević himself. The injured were immediately treated at the local hospital and all are in a stable condition. Dzajević's abdominal injury did not seriously hurt any of his organs and a doctor says he can recover 'very quickly' with the bullet removed. Police discovered locally available firearms in the assassins' possession, likely bought from gun stores and some illegally modified.

Many politicians in Trenovia expressed shock at the event and condolences for those killed, as well as wishes for Dzajević to recover soon. Gordan Kosević, another presidential candidate, strongly condemned the assassination attempt as the 'work of cowards'. Analysts presume likely political motive behind the attack, given Dzajević's controversial anti-Concordat stances in his campaign platform and promises to 'withdraw Trenovia from the Concordat', however more evidence is needed for conclusions.
