Are men or women subordinate to the opposite gender? Not technically, though women as a whole wield more influence in the Novan State.
Are women or men held to a higher expectation in society? No.
Are there less job opportunities for either gender because of unfair reasons? This depends on the definition of "unfairness". Military flag officers and political leadership and legislative functions are disproportionately occupied by women, but this is due to requirements in specific thinking skills.
Are women or men given less civil rights than the opposite gender? Civil rights are equal for both genders.
Are women or men given equal education opportunities? Equal, education is a constitutional right.
Is there a wage gap between the two genders? No.
Can men and/or women manage any government positions? Yes, this is based on skill alone.
Are there gender-specific rooms utilities (other than restrooms)? Yes, for both genders.
Are men and/or women given equal voting opportunities? Yes.

Are men or women subordinate to the opposite gender? Somewhat. Stallions are usually expected to know more about manual labor and mechanics, while mares are seen as authorities on cooking, foalrearing, and bookkeeping. Those of the opposite gender are expected to defer to each in those fields first. So, for instance, if you went to an auto repair shop, you would consult with the stallion before the mare, if there was one there. This is reversed if you go to an accounting firm.
Are women or men held to a higher expectation in society? Both are expected to have some basic roles in society, though neither can really be said to be expected to do "more".
Are there less job opportunities for either gender because of unfair reasons? Somewhat. Mares are usually considered last for manufacturing or labor-intensive work, while stallions suffer in jobs requiring mathematics, like engineering and accounting.
Are women or men given less civil rights than the opposite gender? No, legally, both genders are equal.
Are women or men given equal education opportunities? Generally. As all universities are state-owned, they are required to follow an equal-admittance policy based on equality before the law, and must give reasons for why some candidates are more qualified than others.
Is there a wage gap between the two genders? Not significantly. Equal pay is mandated by law, and the variance is usually between 90%-95% depending on the occupation and genders compared.
Can men and/or women manage any government positions? Yes. The government is obligated to enforce equal-opportunity hiring practices in assuming workers for the Civil Service.
Are there gender-specific rooms utilities? No, and in fact restrooms are unisex.
Are men and/or women given equal voting opportunities? Yes. All citizens regardless of gender may vote.

The Immortal Empire Of The Ephyral Race

Issue of Dispute: Gender Equality within the Immortal Empire

The Empyreal Ministry of National Information has compiled a response to the survey provided regarding so-called 'gender equality' within the Immortal Empire. The Ministry wishes to state that 'equality' as a concept is interpreted differently than it would be in other nations, and whilst the status quo of the Immortal Empire may not be to the liking of other nations, it exists for a reason and has proven effective enough that changing it would in fact result in a negative outcome.

  • Are men or women subordinate to the opposite gender?By requirement, neither are required to be subordinate. In cultural practice however, females are regarded as subordinate to males of their race and class. This is represented in marriage especially, where in the majority of circumstances the husband will assume authority over the wife. However, most of these dominant-submissive relationships are often pre-agreed, as it is cultural norm to establish a dominant member for a clear hierarchical chain of command within families.

  • Are women or men held to a higher expectation in society?Men and women are held to different expectations, but none higher than the other. Men are expected to uphold family values, Ephyral values and behave as a true Ephyral man. Women are expected to embody the family and values to behave as a true Ephyral woman.

  • Are there less job opportunities for either gender because of unfair reasons? Not exactly. In the free sport of gladiator fighting, there is a predominant lack of women simply due to biological inferiority. Women who wish to enter the arenas may however do so, but any and all injuries up to and including death inflicted upon them are not held to the responsibility of the arena.

  • Are women or men given less civil rights than the opposite gender?Women have less rights under the law of the Faith, but typically applies to situations such as a wife to a husband, daughter to a father and a sister to a brother. Examples include a wife not speaking over her husband, but otherwise allowed a voice to the lack of acknowledgement of marital rape.

  • Are women or men given equal education opportunities?Yes. Education opportunity is class based, not gender based.

  • Is there a wage gap between the two genders?Males on average earn more, but this is less to do with inequality and more to do with functionality. Wages are set to a semi-fixed standard, which can either decrease or increase by a certain amount depending on individual productivity. Whilst sometimes on average, women earn more than men, the abundance of men performing tasks suited to their gender, combined with less women employed than men simply results in a near-constant scenario where men are making more money than women. This is also fixed in culture, as the head of the household, usually male, is deemed responsible for bringing finances into the family. Women of the family subordinate to the head may work, but are not actively encouraged to do so.

  • Can men and/or women manage any government positions? As long as qualifications are met, yes, there is nothing to stop a woman assuming a position within government.

  • Are there gender-specific rooms utilities (other than restrooms)? No.

  • Are men and/or women given equal voting opportunities? There are no votes or elections within the Immortal Empire for their to be a perceived inequality.

Men and Women are expected certain roles. Neither really seen as subordinate. Women are expected to obey their husbands and husbands to heed their wives. Although if a family can afford it or needs it, women can have a career as well.

In some sense. Certain Men are generally expected to lead societies and build the country.

Yes, but Men are the ones usually expected to get a higher education in the first place.
Is there a wage gap between the two genders?

Are men or women subordinate to the opposite gender? No, not formally anyway.
Are women or men held to a higher expectation in society? No, except male murderers are more likely to be hanged. Which is not a *right* that even the most hardcore feminist would want for herself unless she was suicidal.
Are there less job opportunities for either gender because of unfair reasons? Women can be made redundant (not outright sacked) with a month's pay given, because they got pregnant without their boss's permission, unless it was because of a rape. Not all bosses will do this however.
Are women or men given less civil rights than the opposite gender? See above.
Are women or men given equal education opportunities? Yes
Is there a wage gap between the two genders? Yes but it's not huge. Women tend to get 10% to 20% less then men but in some jobs things are reversed.
Can men and/or women manage any government positions? Yes
Are there gender-specific rooms utilities (other than restrooms)? There are female train carriages to help prevent sexual harassment.
Are men and/or women given equal voting opportunities? Yes, although our ruler secretly wants a dictatorship in which noone can vote.
