Welcome to the beautiful and bustling nation of Socialist Nordia! We stand committed to diplomacy and strong relations with the outside world. Therefore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has just announced that Socialist Nordia will be hosting foreign embassies in the capital city of Ævarandi Friður. We welcome your diplomats with open arms.
About Socialist Nordia:
Socialist Nordia is an island nation in the Pacific Ocean, inhabited primarily by the descendants of ancient Norse travelers and Han Chinese immigrants. Our two most spoken languages are New Norse and Kinesisk. The former is a creole form of Old Norse, while the latter is a creole form of Mandarin Chinese. However, a majority also know basic English. We are a Democratic Socialist nation that embraces the ideals of democracy, human rights, and equality. The country is heavily populated and urbanised, and we have an extremely prosperous economy.
Embassy Guidelines:
First of all, we retain the right to refuse any embassy request for any reason, but here are some rules your nation must absolutely follow in order to maintain an embassy here in Socialist Nordia
1. Absolutely no lethal firearms allowed: we understand that safety is important, but virtually our entire country is a gun free zone, and almost no guns exist here, aside from a single emergency unit of police. We would like to keep it that way. We promise to keep your embassy safe. All embassies will receive special protection from the Ævarandi Friður Police Department.
2. We do not maintain relations with nations that are currently guilty of serious human rights abuses. If your country denies its people basic human rights, we do not wish to host your embassy.
3. We will not tolerate illegal activities being conducted out of embassies. If it is found that a criminal organisation is operating out of your embassy, or that your country is purposely committing illegal acts here, then we will politely ask you to leave.
4. Please, keep the embassy staff to a realistic number of people.
Embassy Locations:
There are 3 different general areas in which we are permitting embassy construction in our capital city.
1. The Historical Central City: This is where both our legislature and our head of state's residence are located. This area is the main cultural centre and a popular location for tourists. It's design is loosely based off of the ancient Chinese capital of Chang'an and all buildings are built in Chinese architectural design. If located here, your embassy must conform to its surroundings.
2. The Central Business District: This is Socialist Nordia's most important economic and business hub. All major Nordian corporations are headquartered here, and it is the most dense and crowded area of the city. It is known for its great night life and diverse activities. If located here, your embassy must be small and compact. If more space is needed, build up, not out.
3. The Outskirts: Less of a hub for tourism and activity, the outskirts of Ævarandi Friður offer a more quiet and modest alternative to the more central locations in the city. The outskirts are located nearby Socialist Nordia's treasured national parks. If located here, your embassy must make sure it complies with strict environmental regulations and not produce excess noise pollution.
