Probably as to do with Zetaboards.

Gog, which is ProBoards, is running fine. There was some routine maintenance last night.

TAB is Zetaboards, and they've been notoriously assholey lately. I admin 7 regional forums as well as keep tabs on 3 others unrelated to NS. All forums are down.

I opted not to transfer TAB to ProBoards because we just don't have enough activity from our group. ProBoards offers minimal cut-and-paste template coding. I generate much of it by hand. That's too many manhours to dedicate to a place that receives maybe two or three hits a week. In contrast, the Gog forum has received 2,231 visits since the tracking widget was installed last Aug. The level of activity warrants the time spent in maintaining the forum.

Quick follow-up to that. We do have PL space on the Gog boards. http://paedagog.boards.net/board/53/pl-mega-hai (have to be logged in to see it). I could add a category for the Apartment Block there as well. Region members not part of Gog would receive a special "TAB" designation. You all decide if that would work for you.

It would be exceptionally helpful. Now we need to wait to see how long before Zeta pulls its collective brains out of its ass and gets the forums back up.

Well, it's that time of year again. *wipes tear*

"Mm, I'm thankful for many things," Naomi added more candied yams to her already heaping plate before passing it down the line. "There are so many blessing to be had. What about the rest of you? Haven't you anything to be thankful about?"

"I'll be thankful when this stupid meal is over," Charumati grumbled while pawning the bowl off on Meps.

Naomi either failed to hear the quip or chose to ignore it. "What about you, Swithwardian? Do you celebrate things to be thankful about in the Convocation?"

"I used to be thankful that spiders didn't fly," Meps sighed. "But then the Nifid engineered a bunch that did."

"They engineered... flying spiders?" Naomi cringed as she nudged a roll onto her pile.

"Uh huh. Big fukkers," Meps was obviously warming to the conversation now. "I remember this one fukker that got into Neste's bath water-"

"Must you say the F-word?" Naomi's pale hands slipped over Argus' ears for emphasis.

"This is why my people hate gods," Meps replied. "Fukker is Convocation for 'spider'. Honestly, you call yourself omniscient?"

Minerva took the candied yams bowl from the construct and added a small spoonful to her plate. "You're just making that up, Meps. Naomi, don't be so gullible."

"Am not!" Meps insisted. "It's a real word. And you're one to talk. You flew Fokkers during the war."

Naomi blanched, though her estimation of the cultist leader suddenly lifted. "You flew Nifid flying spiders?"

"No!" Minerva slapped the bowl into Neste's palms (the Overseer was trying hard to not laugh). "We didn't fly spiders. Fokkers are planes, and England didn't use them. Besides," the cultist leader sneered, "I'm too young to be part of that war."

"Excuse me, but I'd be thankful if somebody passed the yams," Rodney interrupted, though he was promptly ignored by everyone at the table. Not to be deterred, he seized the bowl from Neste, adding a small portion to her plate before filling his own. "And the Nifid word for spider is indeed that."

"What's the word for 'big'?" Naomi, not wanting to be mistaken for a gullible being again, thought it a classy move to inquire more about the language barrier.

"Mudder," mumbled the Swithwardian trio.

The tinkle of silverware on fine china replaced conversation as the group lapsed into silence. Really, getting together was a terrible idea. Chaos and Convocation had very little in common. But Naomi, ever the trooper, shoveled a few forkfuls of yam down her gullet before making another stab at the Thankfulness topic. "Neste, do you want to share the things you're thankful for?"

The Overseer lifted her eyebrow. "I'm thankful that Septimus has a nice penis. I'm not sharing it."

"HAAAAAAAAA!" Charumati's hand slapped the table with enough force to rattle the stemware. Finally, the topic was something the God of Lust could enjoy.

"Oh! A nice penis is a good thing to be thankful for," Nila was unfortunately seated at the very end of the table and hadn't seen the yam bowl yet. It didn't stop her from contributing, however. "I'm thankful that Ocho's-"

"Must you?" Naomi barked.

"-that Ocho's finally replaced the downy stuff in my nest," Nila continued flatly.

"Is that a sexual reference?" Minerva's eyes mischievously twinkled as she raised the wine glass to her lips.

"Um, no," Nila confirmed. "It's a feathers reference. What about you, Marcus? What are your blessings this year?"

The young priest had so far been quiet... mostly due to an unease brought on by his birth mother discussing his father's private parts. This was the unholy merger of his worlds and he was, indeed, experiencing fresh hell thanks to the females around him. Perhaps this was a good time to steer them towards a more-purposeful dialog? "I'm thankful to have all of you as my family-"

"Liar," said Rodney the psionicist.

"Alright, I'm thankful I haven't killed any of you yet," Marcus conceded. "I'm also thankful that I have good friends in my life. And I'm most thankful for the moments I spend with Giovenith. Please pass the stuffing. And I don't mean feathers."

Silence mercifully inflicted itself upon the room once more, peppered by the occasional cough or scrape of fork tines across a plate. The Swithwardians seemed to eat much more quickly. How else could they have an decent excuse to leave? But this was a table set by Perfection, catered by Cultists of the Excess, and headed by Love. The bowls were never empty, and the Convocation's culture was painfully polite. It wouldn't do to just walk out. Everyone breathed a relieved sigh when Marcus finally raised to finger to catch Naomi's attention.

"May I be excused? I'm full. Was a great meal, too. But I promised Giovenith I'd spend the night with her."

"Oh ho!" Charumati cackled.

"Not like that! Jesus, why are you people always stuck on that subject?" Marcus battled his rising blush as he folded his napkin and set it on his plate. "I'm going now."

All eyes turned to Naomi as the door snapped shut behind her adopted son. Minerva ticked off the seconds until Naomi's meltdown, but she needn't have bothered. The young god seemed unconcerned. She set her own napkin aside.

"Do you know what I'll be thankful for?" Naomi's gentle question was met with more silence. She continued just as sweetly, "I'll be thankful when you lot finally learn to appreciate human holidays. You all ruin every single one, thank you so very much. Don't expect an invitation to Christmas. Cheers!" The god primly lifted her glass to toast her guests before quaffing the beverage.
