Background: The constituency consists of two rich port towns, Nila and Kuala, and a further inland gold mining town, Bidang Emas. The port towns were founded in the 1200's as fishing villages, but upon the arrival of the Europeans and the discovery of gold at Bidang Emas, became trading ports with European powers, and while Nila and Kuala became very rich due to this, Bidang Emas consisted of slums built next to large gold deposits, which meant that it became poorer than the port towns, but they both relied on each other. Many Europeans settled down in Nila and Kuala due to the trade, and many Vietnamese migrants settled here in the 1950's to flee the Vietnam War, giving the area a plurality of Vietnamese people. This made the area strongly believe in minority rights, but due to the decline in trade with Europe, the port towns became poorer and this combined with Bidang Emas's poverty lead to left-wing economics becoming popular. The violations of miner's rights by the ENC made the area reject the ENC, and Bidang Emas was one of the first areas to rebel against ENC rule. When the first elections were held, Thu Tran ran on a policy of multiculturalism and left-wing economics, and was elected as the region's senator.

Background: Founded in 1923 by five Britons — Alastair Blythe (b. 1889, Bombay), Tristam Downing-Smythe (b. 1879, Harrogate), Lionel Henry Livingstone (b. 1899, Cambuslang) Albert Edward Long (b. 1885, Queniborough) and Oswald Ernest MacLeod (b. 1897, Edinburgh) — and Harold Cheung (b. 1900, Kentang), the Anglicised, Queen’s College-educated of a well-situated Cantonese insurer as Sailing Society of Kentang, the club was not exceedingly well-known or prominent during its first decade; it gained only two members and lost two, who opted to return to Great Britain or resettle in India. It was, needless to say, overshadowed by the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club (RHKYC), which boasted an infinitely more respectable name and a more distinguished membership.

In 1935, the Sailing Society was renamed; it is here that one finds the first mention of the Kentang Yacht Club, which was still minuscule. Much was to change with Britain’s entry into the Second World War, for Elizia was made into the East Asian base of operations for the Royal Navy. The Kentang Yacht Club, in spite of its limited capabilities, naturally put itself at the Navy’s disposal, and was rewarded with an ample collection of exaggerated tales of wartime heroism in the face of the Japanese menace. The utterly worthless contribution of ten or so British and Anglo-Chinese (natives were not yet elegible for admission) forged a small-scale epic of empire, which, in the space of ten years, led the club to obtain its royal charter and, consequently, be renamed so as to allow for the addition of the prefix. Thus, the Royal Kentang Yacht Club was, strictly speaking, constituted in 1949, eight years before independence from the United Kingdom as part of the Federation of Malaya.

The years of independence were full of splendour for the RKYC; as the economy grew firm, its membership did, too, for the British withdrawal also signified the relaxation of entrance requirements to allow for the admission of upper class, chiefly Anglophone natives. The state of affairs in Elizia, however, steadily deteriorated after the prohibition of the Barisan Elizia in 1971; amidst the political instability in the country, its economic downturn and the effective banishment of prominent anti-government members, it entered a period of dormancy where its social functions were largely taken over by the Athenæum Gymkhana, although it did not entirely disappear. Things have changed, though, and the winds of hope of the December Liberation have pushed some members of the aforesaid gentlemen’s club to attempt to restore the RKYC.

Background: Victoria is large metropolitan vicinage of financial and cultural importance to the city of Kentang, in particular, and Elizia, in general; it is home to a myriad of business, national monuments and landmarks. Serving as the wealthiest constituency in the entire Federation, Victoria is reasonably diverse, but, perhaps most prominently, it houses one of the largest Euro-Elizian communities, along with a considerable faction of Philippine citizens amounting to 2-3 per cent of its total population. Thus, it harbours a number of Catholic and Anglican churches, of which the most prominent is the Kentang Cathedral, the seat of the Anglican Diocese of North Malaya. The merits of the aforesaid community aside, one cannot obviate the constituency’s overwhelming majority: Muslim Malays. These are, much like their brothers in Indonesia and Malaysia, predominantly Sunni Muslims; the Shia component is in them entirely absent. A strong, resilient Chinese sector can also be observed in spite of the former régime’s attempts to drive them out. The Indians, finally, predominantly adhere to their ancestral Hinduism, but some are, in fact, of the Sunni persuasion, having carried that faith from the Subcontinent in the times of the British Raj to the Elizian Archipelago. As is to be expected of all ethnic groups in this quarter of the national capital, English is given a preeminent position in daily life; it does not, in the case of non-Anglo-Elizians, completely relegate the native language to the realm of disuse, but residents of Victoria certainly maintain a very high level of English, which evidences the frequency of its use.

The group was formed because of rampant crime and laziness/corruption meaning the police did nothing to stop it. Legally, their only actions are to "keep an eye out", assist individuals in dangerous situations, and report any criminal activity to the local police. However, sometimes the ECSA happens to miss an assault on a small group of communists. Or, for example, is most definitely and unfortunately not present when certain offending criminals are beaten within an inch of their life on the street. Thusfar, the ECSA has not "missed" any murders.

Background: Samantha Chow was born on 23 September 1954 in Bal Timor, British Elizia to Paul Chow and Hannah Chiao, an assistant professor of physics and a lab assistant, respectively, at the University of Bal Timor. As the oldest in a relatively privileged family of five siblings, she attended the prestigious Elizabeth Academy from 1959 onward. In 1964, the Elizian National Congress came to power after the unilateral secession of Elizia from Malaysia, which while a source of anxiety, did not immediately affect the Chows as its "Malay first" policies were generally poorly enforced outside Kentang.

However, that changed in 1967 when her mother was suddenly laid off and her father was denied tenure at the university where he had served as a professor for three decades. The Chows realised that a crackdown was imminent, and left Bal Timor for London in May 1968. In London, she continued her studies and obtained a baccalaureate in physics from Royal Holloway in 1978. Four years later, she obtained a master's degree in civil engineering. Taking a job in the transport engineering division of British Rail, she remained in the post until 1995, when its privatisation caused the dissolution of the division. She then returned to university and obtained an engineering doctorate (EngD) in 1996.

Over the next decade, she taught at a minor university in the North of England, but maintained her connections to Elizia through a social network of other Elizian expatriates in the UK. Upon the outbreak of a low-level insurgency in 2005 in Jinyu, Samantha joined a British-based expatriate organisation in support of the Chinese-Elizian community and advocating for international intervention against the ENC regime. As the regime began to crumble, she testified before a House of Commons committee on the Elizian situation in 2011 and continued advocating for forceful action against the ENC.

By 2015, the democratic opposition was in control of most of the country and the crippled ENC regime agreed to negotiations. As the ceasefire that led to the December Peace Accords came into effect, Dr. Chow returned to Kentang, where she was offered tenure as a professor of civil engineering at the University of Kentang, which faced a critical shortage of academic staff as many had fled the country during the Civil War. She taught for two academic terms, during which she assisted John Chiu and Richard Lam with the technical aspects of the Kentang Metro plan. On 15 October 2016, she was elected as the MP for Kentang East - Pegunungan as the SEP candidate after John Chiu announced that he would not seek re-election. She subsequently resigned her tenured position at the University.
