The Vladivostok Alliance (DISBANDED)

I have been thinking for some time about disbanding the alliance (as most of you older members will recall the last vote to disband)
It is a well known fact that the alliance has basically done nothing in terms of actual RP for sometime now and I do take responsibility for being unable to push for "activeness" in the alliance in terms of RPing. As a last ditch effort to get the alliance moving once more, I propose an RP of some sort where everyone that is active can participate in.

Ideas for the RP:
- War Games aka Training Exercise
- Actual War
- Space Exploration
- Humanitarian Aid Operation

Any other suggestions/ideas are welcomed

Let me give you my wisdom:

A Alliance who has more than 15 members cannot RP together. As soon as you hit the 15-mark, you have to split up the Alliance in groups. Take the Commies or the Dictators, etc. instead of the entire Alliance.

@Nitom : yeah, but depends on who you're fighting and where, I honestly played the "puppet master role" throughout highschool (knew the right people and turned enemies against one another through words), as half the guys that tried to get into fights were twice my size, even though a swift puch to the adam's apple would still take care of them, the trouble wasn't worth it. To be honest with you I also RP Puppet Master style or Emperor Palpatine Style, just ask Almaniania.

I think the reason that nothing gets done is because we have grown so massive in terms of member numbers, and then the majority of people who join don't actually do anything. It is so hard to coordinate anything meaningful when the numbers reach more than a few dozen. All meaning has become lost in the sea of inactive members, and the desire to actually create anything meaningful has been lost also. It could also be caused by the age of the little club we have formed, as by now it has been around for about a year (correct me if I am wrong), so in that time the drive to build has diminished. Sometimes the best things rise from the worst destruction, look at how Japan was almost levelled during WWII, and then followed the subsequent post-war boom in terms of construction and the economy, so the destruction of the alliance wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.

Also, if the decision is made to tear down the alliance, a thread lock by a mod would come in useful to stop it from being kept alive by arseholes.

To be honest, if we started purging the inactives we'd have hardly anyone left; It is like when a car has been damaged: it is often better to just scrap it and get a new one.

Ah, thing is, by purging the alliance, we get room for new members. Quite honestly, I've had a lot of other people mention the VA, so it's not exactly a "new" aliance around here.

I don't know how we'd do it, in terms of military logistics as well as what the reasons behind the war are, also I have a feeling even if we did start one not many members would actually jump in and fight, especially with the majority of newer players in the alliance (yes I know, my fault but hey, they need protection too)

I honestly think it'd be better to simply dissolve and every member go their own way, or someone could form a new alliance

I'll be forming an alliance with a few familiar VA faces if we do dissolve.

How about I get Division 5 to use their SOL - Mk VII (Strategic Orbital Laser - Mark Seven) to blast apart and vaporize the Alliance HQ in a 1,000,000,000°C flash of light? Would that be enough to cause a civil war?

I doubt it would cause a civil war, more like a world war

The only thing I can think of is separating the active people from the inactive, as well as separating the vets from the new players. We should also ask for a sample RP in the application.

It's no use to save the VA really, the members that are inactive are off the charts, the VA has pretty much been non-functional as a military alliance for some time, it would be better to just start fresh with a new alliance, then we won't have to worry about all the current members that are popping in and out for short and random times throughout the month and we know what to do and what not to do from past mistakes.

This could be further discussed with the appropriate VA representatives if they find it appropriate. I believe this is an interesting proposal Unicario has proposed, and thus he shall be the SNOM - VA Liaison since he is already WA Delegate. He will communicate any VA-related negotiations to the SNOM Council and Members.

but I sees ur point, this is a pretty funny group and we should stick together

I oppose this idea. SNOM is not an alliance in itself; more of a defensive system, if that is something. Vladivostok seems mainly Socialist, and you say that you do not allow fascists. SNOM however does allow fascists; we don't single out or promote specific ideologies, although we are democratic.

We could form a very small, exclusive group made just for RPing together. (or something like that). Could call it the Vladivostok Connection. (idk, wth lol)

It is at this time that I would like to announce, that for several months, the nations (including myself) of The Cossack Republic of Solyhniya, and [i]The Federal Republic of Zeppy[/i] have been working on creating an alliance which we will call, the Multilateral Treaty Organization. This alliance is still incomplete, but MTO will be formally hosting a summit to hammer out some major alliance details, and the following Vladivostok Alliance members are invited:

The Diplomatic Dominions of Alahastra
The Principality of Belkan Provinces

I anxiously await your reactions. I would also would like to announce that anyone who would like to apply in advance to join MTO may TG me, and when an alliance application is agreed upon during the MTO summit, you may take it and become an official alliance member before the Multilateral Treaty Organization is launched.
