• How did they come to power? ❖ Alyrya was the heiress to the throne of the Eternal Empire due to being the eldest child of the previous monarch and father, the Khālan Karaelus II, overruling her younger twin brother, her other younger brother, a younger half-brother and two younger half-sisters. Her father suffered from an assassination attempt which did not kill him, but in his own eyes left him unfit to rule, fearing he would take the path of his own father he abdicated, allowing his daughter to take the throne and begin her own rule.

• Spouse/Significant Other? ❖ Alyrya was married from 2000 to 2008 to her twin brother, Rhaeron. Incest is widely practised amongst the higher nobility of Ephyra, and the genetic stability and superiority of the Ephyral race allows for such breeding without physical deformity (offspring may suffer from psychological issues). Alyrya and Rhaeron were products of incest between Karaelus and his cousin Ahlaera. Rhaeron was murdered in 2008 by militants during the Imperial Palace Siege, funded by terrorist groups in the Freeholds and inspired by a proclamation from the late King of Yurizlansia. The militants shot Rhaeron dead, and attempted to drown Alyrya before Ephyral loyalist forces arrived and rescued her.
