While Aegon was a great sword fighter, he was still almost killed at King's Landing by Dornish assassins. He needed the best sword fighters in Westeros to serve him, thus Corlys comes in.

Two questions:
We are using Canon Characters, right?
This is character, not faction rp?
Correct this is more character based. If you want to see how it will go, check out A Feast for Crows.
The major leaders of the seven Kingdoms must be canon, however you may add custom characters to the dynasty and you can play as a custom family as long as it doesn't replace a canon house.

Hopefully we can get some of the major houses fixed up, like Durrandon, Hoare, Lannister, and Gardener. Stark and Martell can be picked up mid-way through and Arryn isn't super important unless they are here.. then they can do how they please. Assaulting the Eyrie with anything but dragons is going to be rough.

Some Targaryen cousin I'd presume. Probably the last of her line of the family. They don't really expand the tree out for every family member.

History of the House (At least two well written paragraphs please) he Starks are an ancient house descended from Bran the Builder, a legendary figure from the Age of Heroes said to have raised their ancestral home at Winterfell thousands of years in the past, as well as the Wall. They are descendants of the First Men[ and still follow some of their ancient traditions and the old gods of the forest. The Starks were Kings of Winter in the north for eight thousand years since the Age of Heroes, possibly beginning with Bran the Builder. Ever since Bran constructed the Wall, the Starks have been friends of the Night's Watch, and have manned the Wall for thousands of years. The Night's King, the attainted 13th Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, is said to have been a Stark, among his many possible origins. The Starks also helped repel several major wildling invasions, such as when they and their Umber bannermen defeated the Kings-Beyond-the-Wall like the brothers Gendel and Gorne, as well as Bael the Bard, who is said to have sired and fought a Stark who killed him, the grandson of Brandon Stark, the daughterless.
The ancient Starks gradually defeated rival kings, such as the Barrow Kings to their south and the Red Kings to their east. For several millennia, the Starks were not the uncontested Kings in the North, but their primary antagonists, the Boltons of the Dreadfort, swore fealty some 1,000 years ago, ending their flesh-flaying ways. Meanwhile, King Jon Stark drove pirates from the White Knife, and the Wolf's Den was built at its mouth. This stronghold was often granted to sons and grandsons of the King in the North; one such branch, the Greystarks, was extinguished after allying with the Boltons against the Starks. The Wolf's Den was eventually granted to the Manderlys, a house exiled from the Reach and taken in by the Starks. The Manderlys developed the city of White Harbor around the castle. King Jon's son, Rickard, defeated the Marsh King and married his daughter, bringing the Neck into Winterfell's realm under the lordship of House Reed. The Karstarks were founded when Karlon Stark, brother to the reigning king, helped crush a rebel lord and was granted a keep for his service. Finally, the Mormonts were granted Bear Island when King Rodrik Stark won it from the ironborn in a wrestling match. The Starks fought the Arryns of the Vale after the Rape of the Three Sisters, eventually ceding control of the islands

House: Targaryen
House Seat: Dragonstone
House Sigil:
Allegiance paid to: House Targarye
Appearance (Picture appreciated): Naerys
Personality: Naerys can best be described as aggressive. She has her moments of patience, but years of being placed in the background by her older siblings has left her a little jealous of them. She however, is a kind person to those that respect her.
Skills: Excellent Warrior, Good Strategist, Fair Diplomat, Poor Administrator
Weaponry (If any): Longsword(blackened steel), Shield(targaryen Sigil)
Military Strength: Personal Guard of 4 fighting men, including one Westerosi Knight
Biography (At least a well written Paragraph please): Born after Rhaenys, Naerys is the third daughter born to Aerion. While another son would have solidified his line, a daughter meant he could begin searching for a political match for her. However, the temperament of Naerys prevented this quickly and soon she began training to be a warrior instead. Her entire life was devoted to becoming a better warrior than Visenya and winning the affections of Aegon. However, when Aerion died and Aegon chose whom he would marry. He chose Visenya out of Duty. Naerys was disappointed and went to work becoming a better warrior still. She knew that if she wasn't going to marry Aegon, then she could at least serve her family on the battlefields. It was later that night that she learned Aegon took Rhaenys as a second wife. Infuriated that Aegon had chosen the both of them over her she was determined to be the best Targaryen warrior to ever live.
She began collecting a small following of other warriors and eventually a Knight from Duskendale joined her. He was amazed at the skill which she brought to a fight, but said to her many times "Fighting in the yard and fighting a foe are two different feelings. Until you have faced a man in true battle and won, I will not knight you." She then made it her goal to be the first Targaryen Knight and usher her family into a new era of great warriors.
