A LONG TIME AGO
IN A GALAXY FAR, FAR AWAY...

Image

The evil EMPEROR PALAPATINE rules the galaxy with an iron fist using fear and oppression to bend its citizens too his will. Along with his Sith Apprentice DARTH VADER he has subjected the many peoples and races too his will and has built a seemingly unstoppable military force to keep them in line. But throughout parts of the galaxy a brave few come together to make a stand.

A seemingly haphazard collection of pirates, smugglers, and former soldiers of the OLD REPUBLIC have come together to form a burgeoning revolution known as THE REBEL ALLIANCE.

Outnumbered, outgunned, and always on the move the rebels have adopted a strategy of guerrilla warfare and operate through a series of hidden cells and travelling squadrons of star fighters. Squadrons like STORM SQUADRON...

Image

As a member of Storm Squadron you will be a part of the starship branch of the Eclipse Team of the Rebel Specforce. Under direct orders of the leaders of Eclipse Team and Rebel High Command you will undertake various daring and dangerous missions deep into the heart of Imperial Space and beyond in service of the cause of ending the tyranny of the Empire, often without cover, and rarely with an escape plan in mind. You will be outnumbered at every turn and hunted by an Empire that has a presence in every corner of this galaxy. Are you up to the challenge?

Star Wars: Storm Squadron is influenced heavily by the X-Wing series and Rogue Squadron video games. You are a member of the Rebel Alliance, a skilled pilot trusted to undertake some of the most dangerous assignments of the war and working almost entirely in secrecy, earning medals you can't talk about and possibly (probably?) dying anonymously in the deepest reaches of space. You'll be a nomad, rolling through both the charted and uncharted reaches of space and never staying in one place for long because of the very real possibility that the Imperial Fleet could find you at any moment. In Storm Squadron you won't be participating in the large set piece battles of the movies, you will be a participant in guerrilla raids and smaller scale conflicts that were much more common across the galaxy.

You will start with access to a handful of Clone Wars Era relics but as time progresses technology will improve and give you access to a greater variety of and more advanced fighters and weapons but resources are scarce and the Rebel Alliance can't just give them too you - you have to earn the right to own those new toys by completing missions and objectives and destroying enemy vehicles and installations. For each successful mission or target you destroy you will receive an allowance of credits you can use to purchase and upgrade your ships and weaponry so fight hard! Good luck pilot!

The Golden Rule: Fun is MANDATORY!
1. Read all of the rules here and in the character app section before making an application.
2. No godmodding. Godmodding is here defined as taking actions on behalf of other players without their prior consent, taking massive world changing actions without clearance from myself, and assuming that your attempt to affect another player will automatically succeed.
3. Treat each other with respect in the OOC. If you are obnoxious or habitually rude to other players I reserve the right to cull you from this RP and its OOC.
4. Follow all the site rules. If you are violating the site rules in my IC or OOC I will call the wrath of mod down upon you as well as erase your existence in this RP.
5. Profanity, nudity, and violence, are all perfectly fine but make sure to keep things PG13. If you think Hollywood would give it an R rating then tone things down.
6. My decisions are law.
7. In my absence the decision of my Co-OPs is law.
8. Metagaming is bad, just because a player knows something does not mean their character does. Don't fall into that trap.
9. Try to keep your post to a paragraph (3-5 sentences) long at the minimum, exceptions can apply to dialogue.
10. You are not a one man army (in this case star fleet). You character is mortal, they can die, and if they take stupid risks they can suffer stupid penalties up to and including stupid deaths.
11. Please try to be active, even if you can't be in the IC hang out in the OOC or let me know about any leave of absence you might have to take.

Just Copy and paste the code below and fill in the blanks after removing anything marked in parenthesis (). If you fail to follow any instructions I will make you fix your application without even reading it and if you make three strikes then you're out.

Blaster Cannons: Blasters and Lasers worked on the same principle of firing ionized bolts of gas through focusing crystals to create beams of plasma. Blasters were generally a lower power class of weapon than lasers and were more of a field grade weapon but they sometimes saw use on starfighters most commonly as a defensive weapon of some sort.

Concussion Missiles: Fast and agile missiles best used against starfighters, transports, and lightly armored targets. Default concussion missiles would embed themselves in the armored hull of a target before they detonated and were protected by blue colored energy shields to keep them from being destroyed by enemy point defense weapons. They were not very effective against shields.

Ion Cannons: A form of armament that fired ionized particles capable of disrupting electronic systems. Ion cannons were highly effective against shields and could knock out a targeted ship's subsystems like guidance or target control. No starfighter could mount an ion cannon powerful enough to cause anything more than a nuisance to a larger craft.

Laser Cannons: Not a true laser weapon but in the sense that it fired beams of 'light' the term became the standard usage in common parlance. Laser Cannons came in different classes - light, medium, heavy, and turbo. Light laser cannons were the standard armament on the vast majority of starfighters and even the weakest ones were magnitudes more powerful than any weapon labeled a blaster. Heavier classes of laser were mostly reserved for larger classes of ship however there were a rare few starfighters capable of mounting a medium or sometimes heavy laser. Double and triple lasers were single fire linked groups of multiple weapons designed to increase the rate of fire without sacrificing firepower.

Proton Bombs: High yield weapons that used a much larger version of the warhead found on proton torpedoes. Proton bombs were freefall weapons that come with guided and unguided versions.

Proton Torpedoes: High yield warheads with a focus on pure power mainly designed for use against large ship classes and installations. Proton torpedoes were slow moving and lacked agility in comparison to concussion missiles but could still be used on starfighters at close range in a pinch. The proton torpedo's warhead was equally effective against shields and armor. Proton torpedoes were encased in a red or white energy shield to protect them from being destroyed by enemy fighters and point defense weapons.

Thermal Detonators: Similar to the handheld grenade style device thermal detonators used by starfighters relied on a chemical reaction triggered by baradium to cause an incendiary burst that devastated a large area and caused secondary fires. Thermal detonators were most often used within planetary atmospheres in an anti infantry role.

Mines: Mines came in a huge variety of styles, shapes, and purposes. The most common types of mines used against fighters were ion mines which could temporarily or permanently disable a craft and gravity mines which stuck to a ship and generated powerful gravity wells that interfered with hyperdrive astrogation. Explosive mines were not so popular because of the prevalence of shields and the risk of creating too many debris.

Astromech Capability: Astromech capable fighters had a socket or slot for an astromech droid. The droid could handle tasks like navigation, damage assessment, basic repairs, and adjusting power levels which left the pilot free to fly their ship, focus on their mission objectives and on staying alive.

Ejection System: Any ship noted to carry an ejection system is equipped with a special ejection system for surviving for a prolonged time in deep space (albeit not comfortably). While all starships come standard with an ejection system for use in atmospheric conditions it was rare for a fighter to sport a space ejection system since most pilots would prefer to go down with their fighter than risk dying cold and alone in the depths of space, or worse yet fall into enemy hands.

S-Foils:S-Foils (or Strike Foils) are small winglets which are deployed during combat and offer an improvement to the agility of a space fighter. S-Foils also contain radiators for heat built up by engines, shields, and weapons which make those systems more efficient. Because of the radiant heat bleeding off from S-Foil Systems they also make a fighter easier to detect on some types of scanners.

General Munitions Launcher: A General Munitions Launcher replaces the launcher and magazine of a snub fighter with a system that can handle both concussion missiles and proton torpedoes but reduces the payload by 1. In a fighter with two launchers each needs to be replaced. 8,000 Credits per tube

Improved Missile Targeting Computer: The Improved Targeting computer can track multiple enemies simultaneously and attack one enemy target for each launcher on your fighter. This system only works with concussion missiles. 10,000 credits

Starfighters of the Galaxy
A quick reference guide to the capabilities and classes of starfighters that you will fight in and against.

They are more or less a quick RP guide that gives players an idea of how a ship handles compared too others. The ratings from best to worst are Excellent, Superior, Great, Good, Average, Poor, Inferior, Terrible, None.
Cost: How many credits a pilot would need to acquire a base model of the star ship. Note that most of these costs are for a 'used' ship because that is generally what is available to the rebels.
Speed: Speed measures how fast the starfighter can move with an average speed being about 100 meters per second in space.
Agility: Agility measures how quickly a ship rolls, climbs, dives, and gets its weapons on target.
Maneuverability: Maneuverability measures how easily the fighter can make a 180 degree change in direction on the same axis.
Hull: Hull measures how much of a beating the ship itself can take most often through armor plating.
Shields: Shields measures the strength of the ship's shield generator (where available) and how much damage they can protect fighter from before they fail; shields do slowly regenerate over time so a ship who's shields are knocked out can occasionally leave a battle to recharge their defenses and come back in. Average shields could survive about three direct hits from most laser cannons in rapid succession or a glancing strike from a single proton torpedo before failing.
Hyperdrive: Hyperdrives are a MUST have for the Rebel alliance. The rating of a hyperdrive determines how quickly a ship can travel through hyperspace and come out on the other side. Lower ratings are better than higher ratings.
Weapons: What a star ship is armed with.
Crew: Number of people required to operate the vehicle.
Special: Extra features on a ship including modifications, droids, and such.

Also called the V-Wing it was developed by Kuat Engineering and was an ancestor of sorts to both the TIE line of fighters and the RZ-1 A-Wing. It came into development at the start of the Clone Wars but was slow to reach production. It came out months before the TIE Fighter but Siener had stolen design plans and incorporated or improved on many of the V-Wing's features. They competed to be the Standard Fighter for a time, the V-Wing was equipped with a hyperdrive twin laser cannons with a rapid rate of fire, and a shield for a similar small profile but the much much less expensive TIE won out in the end.
Production of the V-Wing ended with the Nationalization of the Kuat Drive Yards but the Empire kept the Republic's stock of V-Wings for a time to be used by the Emperor's Personal Guard. V-Wings were uncommon but could be found in the hands of pirate groups and militias that eventually ended up being absorbed into the Rebellion.
Cost: 45,000
Speed: Great
Agility: Great
Maneuverability: Great
Hull: Terrible
Shields: Inferior
Hyperdrive: Rating 1
Weapons: x2 Twin laser Cannons
Crew: 1
Special: Astromech Capable

The Aggressive Reconnaissance 170 Fighter was another Incom Subpro collaboration. So large it barely counts as a fighter the 170 was designed for long range reconnaissance and escort missions but also found use as a raider and space superiority fighter though one wouldn't be too far off to call it a flying tank. It was designed for long flights and had a 5,000 light year range and could carry enough consumables to allow a full crew to last up to 5 days it even featured a cabin that a single crew member could sleep in which allowed them to take shifts sleeping during long deployments. While often outclassed in single combat the heavy weaponry and shields of the ARC-170 meant that a squadron of them could survive being swarmed by lighter, more maneuverable fighters while they made their escape after completing a mission. While no longer in production the Empire kept a few of them laying around and many others fell into the hands of the Rebel Alliance who made use of any ship they could salvage. The Rebels retooled many of the old fighters for a one man crew, slaving the rear mounted blasters to a crude targeting computer and putting the Astromech Droid in charge of virtually all navigational controls which left the pilot free to pilot the fighter and use its primary weaponry; this of course left the fighter more vulnerable in some ways.
Cost: 70,000 Credits
Speed: Average
Agility: Poor
Maneuverability: Poor
Hull: Average
Shields: Good
Hyperdrive: Rating 1.5
Weapons: x2 Medium Laser Cannons, Rear Mounted Twin Blaster Turret (35° Rotation), x1 Proton Torpedo Launcher, x6 Proton Torpedoes
Crew: Regular 3 (Pilot, Co-Pilot, Gunner), Modded 1 with droid.
Special: Astromech Capable, S-Foils

Without exception Y-Wings were the most ubiquitous fighter in the Alliance. The BTL-A4 was a variant specific to the Rebel Alliance along with the BTL-S3 that were stripped down of their bulky armor plating save for around the cockpit in an effort to ease maintenance and improve the capabilities of the fighter in combat against other Starfighters. The A4 was further tweaked so that it only held one crew member and its ion turret was locked into either the 6 or 12 o'clock position (pilot's preference) and given a simple targeting computer to further cut down weight while the power sources were tweaked to prioritize engines over shields but the results were less than stellar. Regardless, the A4 did prove to be the fastest and best maneuvering version of the Y-Wing even if it was comparatively easy to shoot down for a Y-Wing which meant its shields and hull could still take a beating when compared to other starfighters. It was the BTL-A4 Y-Wings of Gold Squadron that were supposed to destroy the Death Star but even with their strong shields they could not withstand the combined AA and TIE defenses of the trench and the entire squadron was lost.
Cost: 45,000 Credits
Speed: Poor
Agility: Poor
Maneuverability: Average
Hull: Poor
Shields: Average
Hyperdrive: Rating 1
Weapons: x2 Laser Cannons, Ion Cannon Turret (35° rotation), Proton Torpedo Launcher, x10 Proton Torpedoes or x20 Proton Bombs
Crew: 1
Special: Ejection System, Astromech Capable

Without exception Y-Wings were the most ubiquitous fighter in the Alliance. The BTL-B was the standard Clone Wars era Y-Wing with no major modifications or variations. It featured a regular cockpit with a secondary bubble cockpit that housed a tail gunner who controlled a twin ion cannon turret used both offensively and defensively in combat. The turret had 60° of elevation and a 360° rotational axis. Though it was slow and ponderous for a fighter (topping off about 65 megalight) it was heavily armored and shielded which made it capable of surviving punishment that almost no other fighter classed ship could even consider. Unlike the A4 variant the B was designed specifically for bombing runs and attacking capital ships and other large immobile targets. Because of the design of their armored plates the BTL-B Y-Wing was unpopular with rebel techs because of how long it took to perform routine maintenance on the fighter.
Cost: 63,000 Credits
Speed: Inferior
Agility: Poor
Maneuverability: Poor
Hull: Good
Shields: Good
Hyperdrive: Rating 2
Weapons: x2 Laser Cannons, Ion Cannon Turret (360° rotation), Proton Torpedo Launcher, x10 Proton Torpedoes or x20 Proton Bombs
Crew: 2 (Pilot and Tail Gunner)
Special: Ejection System, Astromech Capable

Without exception Y-Wings were the most ubiquitous fighter in the Alliance. The S3 was the most widely used version of the Y-Wing fighter for the rebels. Like the A4 much of the armor was stripped off of the fighter to make it lighter and ease the difficulty of maintaining the ship but many of the most vital areas were still armored to some extent. Another major difference between the A4 and S3 was that the latter still had a two man crew but they shared a single tandem seated cockpit and the second crew member controlled the turret using a video screen and control stick. Either the pilot or gunner could control the primary lasers and torpedo launchers from their respective positions. The S3 was considered the best variant of Y-Wing fighter to be fielded and would last even beyond the Galactic Civil War.
Cost: 65,000 Credits
Speed: Poor
Agility: Poor
Maneuverability: Average
Hull: Average
Shields: Good
Hyperdrive: Rating 1
Weapons: x2 Laser Cannons, Ion Cannon Turret (360° rotation), Proton Torpedo Launcher, x10 Proton Torpedoes or x20 Proton Bombs
Crew: 2 (Pilot, Gunner)
Special: Ejection System, Astromech Capable

Developed at the beginning of the Clone Wars to serve as a short range interceptor and aerospace superiority starfighter. The V-19 Torrent (aka V-19 Interceptor) had a unique three winged design and slim profile that made it a difficult target to attack from the front or behind but also made it particularly fragile and hard to pilot. While it was supposed to be replaced by the V-3 Nimbus it continued to see use as a first wave defensive picket for larger starships to prevent attack before their shields were online. Later and upgraded versions of the V-19 were outfitted with a Class 1 Hyperdrive but low fuel capacity kept them to a relatively short range of 500 light years. The Empire kept some of the Republic's V-19s for use in Outer Rim Garrisons, the Alliance acquired theirs from some of those very same garrisons.
Cost: 50,000 credits
Speed: Great
Agility: Good
Maneuverability: Great
Hull: Terrible
Shields: Terrible
Hyperdrive: Rating 1
Weapons: x2 Laser Cannon, x2 Concussion Missile Launchers, x6 Concussion Missiles
Crew: 1
Special:

The R-41 was built as a direct competitor to the Headunter and debuted a few months afterward. Unfortunately for its manufacturer Hoersch-Kessel Drive Incorporated Incom and Subpro were able to produce their Headhunters in greater quantity and market them better which left the R-41 with a lack of customers. The beginning of the Clone Wars saw many planets rushing to upgrade their defense forces and R-41s would be purchased and pushed into service right alongside their chief competitor.
Starchasers are comparable in performance to Headhunters but featured greater endurance thanks to their S-Foils and greater fuel capacity and their Ion Cannons gave them more battlefield flexibility. The only major drawback in comparison to the Headhunter was the smaller capacity for launching and carrying concussion missiles. The Alliance to Restore the Republic acquired them from many of the same places they did their Z-95s.
Cost: 55,000
Speed: Average
Agility: Good
Maneuverability: Great
Hull: Inferior
Shields: Poor
Hyperdrive: Rating 2
Weapons: x2 Laser Cannons, x2 Ion Cannons, Concussion Missile Launcher, x2 Concussion Missiles
Crew: 1
Special: S-Foils

Designed before the Clone Wars as a joint venture between the Incom and Subpro corporations the Headhunter became popular as a low cost and highly adaptable starfighter that was produced in countless variants. The Alliance to Restore the Republic's variant was equipped with a rating 2 Hyperdrive which gave the fighter an attack range of 1,000 light years. It was primarily used as a Space Raider and an escort for Rebel fleets and bomber squadrons. Performance wise it was no match for Imperial TIE Fighters in speed, maneuverability, or agility but made up for it with firepower and shields. In the hands of a trained pilot it was at least the equivalent of a TIE in a one on one battle. Since the Headhunter was a mainstay of planetary defense forces the alliance inherited thousands of them from member militias.
Cost: 45,000 Credits
Speed: Average
Agility: Good
Maneuverability: Great
Hull: Inferior
Shields: Poor
Hyperdrive: Rating 2
Weapons: x2 Laser Cannons, 2x Concussion Missile Launchers, 6x Concussion Missiles
Crew: 1
Special: None

A Z-95 Headhunter upgraded with more modern technology by Rebel Technicians. Larger and more robust engines replaced the outdated motive systems and new targeting and navigation computers were added as well as a new power plant and cross body strakes. The newer and smaller electronics allowed room for an Astromech Droid and an additional couple of concussion missiles. Finally the extra power from the new reactor was used to upgrade the primary weaponry to two medium laser cannons which gave it a seriously powerful punch.
Cost: 70,000 credits
Speed: Good
Agility: Good
Maneuverability: Great
Hull: Poor
Shields: Poor
Hyperdrive: Rating 2
Weapons: x2 Medium Lasers, x2 Concussion Missile launchers, 8 missiles
Crew: 1
Special: Astromech Capable
A ubiquitous short range transport ship used by the Empire. The Lambda shuttles were perfect for short hops between star ships and star systems. They could carry anything that was needed in their cargo holds from soldiers, to light vehicles, to cargo, to VIPs. While cumbersome and slow they were fully capable of defending themselves from attacks and sported a large amount of laser cannons and a tractor beam for weaponry. Heavy armor and shields were its protection from attacks by star fighters, they could absorb concentrated fire from two or three ordinary fighters before being endangered but because of their lack of mobility were not exactly suited to fight back either.
Enemy Tier: 3
Speed: Inferior
Agility: Poor
Maneuverability: Inferior
Hull: Superior
Shields: Great
Hyperdrive: 1 (Backup 10)
Weapons: 10 laser cannons (8 front, 2 rear), Tractor Beam
Crew: 6 + up to 20 passengers.
Special: Ejection Pod

Enemies of the Empire liked to call them eyeballs. These were the older model fighters that came into immediate service during the course of the rise of the Empire. For 19 years these were the standard short range fighter for the Imperial Fleet but by 1BBY they are being phased out by the newer and more advanced TIE/LN. Individually they were not much of a threat but like a swarm of bees they converged on individual targets in formations of up to 12 at a time which made them deadly and effective. Sheer numbers meant that these fighters were expected to continue to see service for a long time in the less important parts of the Galaxy.
Enemy Tier: 1
Speed: Great
Agility: Great
Maneuverability: Great
Hull: Terrible
Shields: None
Hyperdrive: None
Weapons: X2 Laser Cannons
Crew: 1
Special:

The TIE/LN was an improvement to the basic TIE fighter. The avionics and engines were greatly improved to give the TIE/LN almost impossible maneuverability (it could fly SIDEWAYS) and the weapons were upgraded to give it a superior punch to the standard TIE but they tended to overheat when fired rapidly so required better than average trigger discipline from their pilots. Visually the TIE/LN resembled the standard TIE in all aspects save for color; standard ties were a slate gray and the Improved versions where more blue/gray in color.
In a slight departure from the Empire's usual approach of sending waves of expendable soldiers after their enemies the TIE/LN featured an ejection pod for use in space as well as crash reinforcements to the cockpit area that improved a pilot's survival chances in a collision. It still lacked basic starfighter amenities like life support and shields but those were considered optional for the design bureau of Stiener Fleet Systems.
Enemy Tier: 2
Speed: Great
Agility: Great
Maneuverability: Superior
Hull: Inferior
Shields: None
Hyperdrive: None
Weapons: x2 Medium Laser Cannons (Optional external Torpedo Launcher, x3 Proton Torpedoes)
Crew: 1
Special: Ejection Pod

Beradium in a small package! Despite being less than 8 meters wide and 4 meters long the TIE/SA carried a huge payload. Not only was it capable of taking on a regular starfighter under the right terms but was often often accompanied by an escort of TIE fighters as well. A huge payload of missiles and proton torpedoes or bombs made it threat under any circumstances to both aerospace and ground targets. For a TIE fighter it was also a toughy and could take a couple of direct hits from a laser cannon before going down.
Enemy Tier: 1
Speed: Poor
Agility: Average
Maneuverability: Poor
Hull: Average
Shields: None
Hyperdrive: None
Weapons: x2 Laser Cannon, x2 Proton Torpedo Launcher, x2 Concussion Missile Launcher, Bomb Bay, x12 Proton torpedoes and x16 concussion missiles or x30 Proton Bombs or x15 Mines or x60 thermal detonators.
Crew: 1
Special: Ejection Pod

FAQ
I always forget something, questions and answers will go here.

Q: What year in the Star Wars Timeline does this RP begin?
A: The starting year is 0BBY.

Q: Are we only playing as rebel scum?
A: We are proud to be Rebel Scum! ... that means yes.

Q: Where is the _____ starfighter?
A: As the RP progresses there will be more starfighters available, if its not in the list just wait and maybe it will show up. If you think a certain fighter should be on the list tell me about it.

Q: So what are these ratings on the ship descriptions?
A: They are more or less a quick RP guide that gives players an idea of how a ship handles compared too others. Speed measures how fast the starfighter can move with an average speed being about 100 meters per second in space. Oh look an accidental poet
He makes rhymes and doesn't know it

There might be a mission or two where somebody will need to use a TIE fighter for some kind of subterfuge purposes. Maybe at some point I'll let people buy some variants of TIE for use.

No ARC-170 in the prologue. In the prologue you'll be locked to certain fighters but after that there will be plenty of options. The standard ARC-170 has a three man crew though, so I'll probably create some kind of stripped down version.

In what year will this rp start?

Wiki says you can strip the crew down to two, since the pilot can also operate the front guns. Could probably delegate the rear guns to a droid.

Yes exclusively playing as rebels. Maybe not exclusively fighting the empire.

Biearusia is going to be a Co-Op in this RP.

Also it just dawned on me that I opened this RP on Mark Hammil's Birthday.

Will examine in depth tomorrow.
Where must we go, we who wander this wasteland, in search for our better selves?
In Egypt's sandy silence, all alone,
Stands a gigantic Leg, which far off throws
The only shadow that the Desert knows:—
"I am great OZYMANDIAS," saith the stone,
"The King of Kings; this mighty City shows
"The wonders of my hand." The City's gone,
Nought but the Leg remaining to disclose
The site of this forgotten Babylon.

We wonder, and some Hunter may express
Wonder like ours, when thro' the wilderness
Where London stood, holding the Wolf in chace,
He meets some fragment huge, and stops to guess
What powerful but unrecorded race
Once dwelt in that annihilated place.

NS Name: Transoxthraxia, Trans, Sox, whatever.
Character Name: Uefod'ramay [Pronounced: Ou-eff-ohd Rah-may], but more often than not she simply goes by "Ramay".
Species and Appearance: Twi'lek. She stand approximately 1.6 meters tall [About five feet, two inches.] and weighs 49.4 kilograms [109 pounds, approximately.]. Her skin is a pale green, like both of her parents. Her eyes, however, are a bright green with flecks of yellow and orange in them. When not wearing the traditional bright orange pilot's jumpsuit, she is usually clad in military fatigues. She normally maintains her Lekku in a tight but comfortable bind through the use of an elastic. When another Twi'lek is present who cannot speak Basic, she unties them in order to speak their native language.
Gender: Female.
Biography: Ramay was born in 19 BBY, shortly before the reformation of the Republic into the Empire via the declaration of the New Order. Her parents were members of a rather large and extensive family of very successful Twi'lek smugglers and slavers in the employ of the Hutt Cartels, with their family headquarters in Nar Shaddaa. She was born the third of three triplets, and the second girl. Shortly after their births, Ramay's mother retired from the smuggling business to go back to live on Nar Shaddaa with most of the rest of the females in the clan in order to raise her children. During her early years, Ramay and her two siblings were given the "wealthy woman's education", as her mother called it, which consisted mostly of an education in the many ways of crime; especially smuggling. However, Ramay and her siblings were only taught rudimentary reading and writing skills, and was taught the Galactic Basic before her parent's native language, Twi'leki; in both languages she only learned rudimentary reading and writing skills, however.

By the age of eleven, she began accompanying her father and uncle on smuggling missions despite the wishes of both her mother and her father; she showed both great interest and initial skill when piloting space faring vehicles, much more so than either of her siblings. She would often practice piloting with assistance from her father in both atmospheric and spatial conditions. Every smuggling mission that she participated in she got a small cut out of, partially out of an allowance from her father, and partially due to the fact that she had legitimately worked hard to earn the money given. Throughout her early teens, she developed a gambling habit that was nurtured whenever she came home to visit her family in Nar Shaddaa; she would spend much more time gambling underage at illegal casinos and back-door card games than with her family. It was at one of these illegal casinos in which she developed an infatuation with a slightly older Twi'lek girl, a slave in the employ of the Hutts. The girl returned her feelings, and was granted a Twi'leki name in secret by Ramay; Jedciho'Ramay, instead of the slave name that had been chosen for her by the Hutts. Their little trysts were soon exposed to the local Hutt underboss, who lashed Jedciho'Ramay severely before selling her off-planet. Dissenting due to the action of the underboss, Ramay attempted to steal her father's ship in order to pursue her perceived "love", but was foiled by her uncle and her brother, who scalded her for choosing her own interests over the interests of her family. She fought back, claiming that their only interest was money, not the happiness of the clan's members. Tensions only further increased when Ramay discovered that her father and uncle had played a large part in purchasing and smuggling Twi'lek slaves from Ryloth into Hutt space; she began to view the rest of her clan as race traitors and collaborators, upset months later at the removal of the object of her infatuation.

When she was nearly seventeen, Ramay had decided that she had had enough of her family's hypocrisy and the decadence of the Hutts, and after a second failed attempt at hijacking her father's ship, she fled Nar Shaddaa, stowing away on a smuggler's cargo ship. She eventually became entangled with the crew of the cargo ship, two men and a woman who were running supplies under a contract for the Alliance to Restore the Republic. They promised her a cut of the contract if she helped them, and Ramay relented, helping the trio gun run from Nar Shaddaa all the way to Dantooine. But after they arrived, the three ditched Ramay, cutting her off and stealing her cut of the profits for themselves. Stuck on the then-Rebel base, she began to see the Alliance's cause as a sort of liberation; all citizens of the Galactic Empire were slaves of a sort. She enrolled, and her small stature, pilot's experience, and tenacious personality made her a natural fit to be a pilot. Before she was eighteen, she was already a full-fledged pilot of a Y-Wing, having fought in two combat missions. She was more experienced and skilled than most recruits, and had distinguished herself through her quick thinking and impressive flying. However, her confidence which bordered on cockiness, tenacity, and brash demeanor irritated her superiors, even if her skill and natural leadership made her a good pilot. She was transferred to Storm Squadron by her superiors, who saw it as a way to rid the standard corps of an irritant, expecting the young pilot to be dead within weeks. Upon her induction into Storm Squadron, she is one of the youngest members of the raiding group, and while not as experienced or skilled as the rest of the members, her desire to improve, leadership, and confidence makes up for the fact.
Miscellaneous Information: Ramay can speak and understand a number of languages:
  1. Galactic Basic: Spoken, Understood, Reading/Writing Comprehension
  2. Twi'leki: Spoken, Understood.
  3. Huttese: Spoken, Understood.
  4. Binary: Understood.
  5. Bothan: Basic understanding.
RP Example: If you want me to provide one I can, but otherwise, I mean, you know me, right?
